I want to go into lurker mode for a while, but omg, were other people watching the insta comments on WJW today? Nathan Foad joined Kristian Nairn today, and... yikes.... people are aware that they (the actors) could actually see the comments, right?

Cut because people want positivity, but I have to get the mortification out there...

I mostly just listened to it as I flipped around tabs, but every time I made it back to the video, there was at least one comment on screen that was some variation of "omgggg, talk about the cigarette scene with Con!" or "ommggggggg, is Con a good kisser?!?!"

They classily deflected the kissing question, but there was a quick brush aside of the cigarette spam because like you, me, and most of the audience, it's just a quick confusion of, "What cigarette scene?" Had to remind myself, but it's a throwaway nothing of a scene in 2x5 that apparently made the Cult of Izzy ascend to another plane of existence.

Then Nathan dared to mention Lupete, and some "Team Sprizzy!!!" spam manifested in chat, and JFC, give it a break. Lucius made fun of Izzy once, never showed interest in his existence again, and that's the Ship of Dreams to some people? Keep your headcanons confined your little fandom areas, but whatever went on today was extremely embarrassing to everyone and extremely disrespectful to the actors.

Lucius' S2 storyline was Lupete. He has had considerably more and better scenes with Pete (and the actors have considerably more chemistry), but why must he suffer being an offering to some people's blorbo? Nathan said his favorite S2 scene was the Lupete engagement scene. Having such a cute, charming, and unique gay romance in a large show has to be a point of pride for him, and people want to focus on the worst and most boring HC romance for him?

And, really, while we're here: Wee John had his one showcase scene in S2 usurped by Izzy, and his cult members tried to take it over again in the insta chat when they talked about it.

(And now I have a cringe imagining of people running up to Rhys at conventions and gushing about Steddyhands or Stizzy when the poor man has poured his acting heart into romancing Ed.)
