Title: S.
Author: J.J. Abrams, Doug Dorst
Series or standalone: standalone
Publication year: 2013
Genres: fiction, mystery, fantasy, thriller, contemporary, romance
Blurb: A young woman picks up a book left behind by a stranger. Inside of it are his margin notes, which reveal a reader entranced by the story and by its mysterious author. She responds with notes of her own, leaving the book for the stranger...and so begins an unlikely conversation that plunges them both into the unknown. Ship of Theseus is the final novel by prolific but enigmatic writer V.M. Straka, in which a man with no past is shanghaied onto a strange ship with a monstrous crew and launched onto a disorienting and perilous journey. Straka is the incendiary and secretive subject of one of the world’s greatest mysteries, a revolutionary about whom the world knows nothing apart from the words he wrote and the rumours that swirl around him. Jennifer and Eric are a college senior and a disgraced grad student, both facing crucial decisions about who they are, who they might become...and how much they’re willing to trust another person with their passions, hurts, and fears.

Favourite Movies - Guilty Pleasures - Super 8 (2011) From the mind of J.J.Abrams comes a great Alien/Coming of Age story set in small town USA. It's got a bit of The Goonies, E.T. and Close Encounters themes intertwined together as the main protagonists a group of kids, making a Super 8 movie, get caught up with an escaped alien trying to make it’s way home.

Creating Twin polls. Here is the, uh, more positive one.
This is about strictly movies and shows, not novels or legends or video games. Those are great too, but i wanted this poll to be as concise as I could make it.
please forgive me if any of this is incorrect. I googled creators and writers of various Star Wars shows and movies.
And please be respectful to me and other fans of Star Wars!

When the movie came out I was beyond putting in 24/7 care of my dad. Then that last year of his life was even more heavier care than that, if you can imagine.
Despite the kicking people give the sequel trilogy I was excited to see the final chapter of STAR WARS. But everything that happened I couldn't bring myself to watch it. I couldn't dedicate almost 3 hours to what would be a lot to take in. I'd have to watch it in 5 parts.
Then after my dad died. I was I shock. I'm not exactly not in shock now. But I let it go. Like some delusional idea that it was going to change anything. Irrational.
But i finally watched it. 4 years later. It was good to see it without social media and the news and friends and everyone picking it apart or analyzing the meaning or comparing and all that shit.
It was good story in my opinion. It wasn't a totally different movie to what Star Wars is. But it had all the markers that the old expanded universe Jedi vs Sith stories had. What the video games had. The Clone Wars.
But I enjoyed more than I would've with everyone breathing all over it in 2019-2020.
