CBS Sports: NFL 1989-Preseason Opener: Dallas Cowboys @ San Diego Chargers: Intro
I am not so much interested in Troy Aikman’s first NFL pass, since it was in a preseason game and technically didn’t count. What I am interested in is Pat Summerall’s intro to this game, because he was the master of that, with his great voice, knowledge of the game, and pure intelligence. He not only could have written his own intros, but he also had a great sense of humor. Then combine him with…

Six years in LA and it still feels so weird that they’re no longer the San Diego Super Chargers. I don’t think it’ll ever seem right to me… on the other hand, Las Vegas Raiders… seems legit, lol. (at Jack Murphy Stadium) https://www.instagram.com/p/CmDhkJfL0K9/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Blues expect Cripps in clear after AFL win
Blues expect Cripps in clear after AFL win
Carlton coach Michael Voss would be “staggered” if Patrick Cripps received an AFL sanction over the tackle that led to Adelaide opponent Lachlan Murphy’s neck injury. Cripps and six-goal forward Charlie Curnow were outstanding as the Blues posted a thumping 17.14 (116) to 10.8 (68) win at Marvel Stadium on Sunday. They lost livewire forward Jack Martin to a calf injury but that was one of few…

Best Western Plus Continental Inn & Suites
If you think there’s no right or wrong choice of hotels in El Cajon, California, maybe you haven’t explored all the properties fully. While there may be more than one good pick, there are some bad ones for sure. But never mind. One smart hotel stands above the rest as a sensible pick when you need to stay in this busy area. I select Best Western Plus Continental Inn & Suites as the best overall choice of El Cajon, California hotels, and I’ll explain why I recommend this property to you.
Most importantly, amenities make a real difference to me. When you make this hotel in El Cajon, California your pick of hotels near Viejas Casino CA or hotels near Parkway Plaza CA, for example, you’ll be staying at a smoke-free place with free wifi, newly improved rooms, a free breakfast and satellite television service.
Those amenities are a large part of the reason I also recommend this property to travelers looking for hotels Jack Murphy Stadium CA visitors can rely on or hotels near Metropolitan Transit System CA. You can also confidently stay at this place when seeking hotels near San Diego International Airport CA.
This motel in El Cajon, California is also easy to find, easy to reach and well-regarded in it’s community. No other El Cajon, California motels that I have examined offers so much for such a low price, and that’s why it’s the place smart travelers can feel good about choosing.
So why not take my advice and stay at Best Western Plus Continental Inn & Suites when visiting the area? It’s a decision that will serve you well now and every time you visit the area in the future. And it’s a selection of motels in El Cajon, California that will stand the test of time and keep serving you for years to come. Please book now to see for yourself.

Ireland 29-10 Italy: Joey Carbery suffers knee injury which could rule him out of World Cup
Ireland 29-10 Italy: comfortable win for the Irish but concerns the fly-half Joey Carbery suffers knee injury that could exclude him from World Cup
Joey Carbery now faces a face battle to be fit for the World Cup Opener on September 22
Half of the fly suffered a knee injury and looked devastated when he left the field

Joey Carbery suffered a knee injury as Ireland mitigated past Italy 29-10 in their first warm-up match in Dublin.
Fly-half Carbery will anxiously wait to find out if the new knee is hoping for his World Cup.
Premier playmaker Johnny Sexton is expected to be fit shortly after a thumb load, but Ireland can afford to lose one of their main pivot points.
Joey Carbery shudders as he receives medical treatment on his injured knee
Carbery is assisted by two physios while he struggles to put weight on to lay his leg
Carbery's reaction when he left the field said everything with the World Cup just six weeks away distance
Ireland will open its World Cup by beating Scotland on September 22, so an important knee issue would now threaten Carbery's participation in Japan.
Jack Carty from Connacht and Ross Byrne from Leinster would be the men to investigate British and Irish Lions fly-half Sexton in Japan if Carbery missed an injury.
Carbery from New Zealand, however, offers Ireland additional selection flexibility to cover full-back, and even center at a push
Carbery, Dave Kearney, Andrew Conway, Jordi Murphy and Kieran Marmion all crossed each other while an experimental set-up in Ireland ensured a routine victory at Aviva Stadium.
Maxime Mbanda and Carlo Canna grabs first half trying Italy abused Ireland & # 39; s pre-season ring-rust.
Andrew Conway penetrates a way to score against Italy
Chris Farrell increased his chances of traveling through the World Cup with a smart show in the middle, but otherwise the Irish coaching team didn't get much new selection headache.
Ireland was sloppy from the start, a curious Carbery crossfield bomb of its own 22 an unusual – and failed – exit strategy.
Dave Kearney then clashed a nailed attempt, beating on the whitewash when he tried to scoop Carbery & # 39; s hack.

September 7: Ireland v Wales, Dublin
Italy hit first then, converting a driven lineout when the aggressive Mbanda popped home.
Carbery quickly pushed up the try count, cantering home through the 12 channel with places in the backline of Ireland swapped with Farrell.
But exactly when Ireland expected to withdraw, the Italians inflicted another flesh wound.
Giulio Bisegni & # 39; s cute grubber kick meant Jordan Larmour in the backfield of Ireland and Carlo Canna first reached the bouncing ball to double the number of visitors.
Finally, Ireland approached something similar to a rhythm, with the phases strung together deep in Azzurri territory.
Dave Kearney made up for his early howler monkey with a naval finish in the left corner, which was all due to Garry Ringrose's pass from the tackle. It enabled Larmour to fire out, and Kearney Junior did the rest.
Ireland coach Joe Schmidt will resign after the World Cup in Japan
Andrew Conway ran
Number eight Jordi Murphy has capped a drive-line for Ireland's fourth attempt, in a solid opening in the second half.
]
Both sides hurled through a completely forgettable third quarter, except for that worrying damage to Carbery.
Replacement scrum half Marmion called Test debutant and Italian counterpart Callum Braley to claim the hosts' fifth score.

Rockies-Twins Tie 5-5 In Fort Myers.
Rockies 5 Twins 5 Colorado (14-16-3) Minnesota (14-14-3)
The Colorado Rockies and Minnesota Twins wrapped up spring training this afternoon with a meeting at Hammond Stadium. The offense started out hot then cooled down as the day went on. We had some late drama, but this one ended in a tie as the two teams head to their destinations to start the season. The Rockies got started right away in the first inning today. Charlie Blackmon reached on a Jonathan Schoop fielding error. This brought up Daniel Murphy, who smoked a Michael Pineda offering out to right for a two-run blast. The next batter, Nolan Arenado drilled a Michael Pineda pitch out to left for a solo homer. The back-to-back jacks put the Rockies up 3-0 after half an inning of play. The Twins responded in the bottom of the first as Willians Astudillo walked with one out. Nelson Cruz then hammered a Jon Gray pitch out to left-center for a two-run homer. This cut the Rockies lead to one, but the Twins would continue to rally. Later in the inning, CJ Cron deposited a Jon Gray offering out to left for a solo homer. This tied the game at three after an inning of play. Neither side would score until the sixth inning. Ronald Torreyes started a rally with a one-out double. With two outs, Jake Cave delivered a run-scoring double to put the Twins up 4-3. The Rockies would answer in the eight inning. Sam Hilliard walked up to the plate with two outs. He drilled a Pat Dean offering out to right-center for a solo blast. This tied the game at four after eight frames. The two managers decided to adopt minor league baseball extra inning rules. Each team started the inning with a runner at second base. Dom Nunez doubled to start the ninth, but Max George was held at third base. With one out, Matt McLaughlin plated a run on a fielder’s choice. This put the Rockies up 5-4, but the Twins would answer in the bottom of the ninth. Mitch Garver started the inning at second base. He went to third base on a wild pitch and Tyler Austin walked with one out. Zander Wiel hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Garver and tie the game at five. Ryan Costello grounded out to second base to end the game and we ended in a tie today. Both teams leave Fort Myers to head to their Major League cities for Opening Day.
-Final Thoughts- Michael Pineda looked good after a rough first inning. He went five innings and allowed three runs on three hits with seven strikeouts and two walks. He looks ready for his first start. Taylor Rogers retired two of the three batters he faced, Austin Adams got out of the sixth, Adalberto Mejia had a clean seventh, and Pat Dean gave up a run with two strikeouts in the eighth. DJ Baxendale gave up a run in the ninth. CJ Cron, Jonathan Schoop, and Ryan Costello led the team with two hits each. The team hit 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left twelve men on base. Next up, the Twins head back home for Opening Day on Thursday afternoon. Corey Kluber will face Jose Berrios in the season opener.
