Could I request something with James? Where reader lashes out at him and she had arguments with her ex a lot and expected this (her lash out) to get into a really big argument but he’s just like „okay noted“ and super kind about it (a little bit inspired by all my ghosts by lizzy)
(You can obviously change stuff to your liking and no pressure)
all hail lizzy mcalpine. i loved this request and i love james! thank you!
“Im serious, James!” You exclaim, a little louder than necessary. “I miss you! You’re always at practice, or with the boys, and I love the boys! But I miss you!”
He pauses in the doorway, startled by your reaction.
Remus and Sirius miss me too, you expect him to say, or rather, I can’t miss rugby cause you miss me a little more. You anticipate the sting of his words before they come, bracing yourself as you lean back against the kitchen countertop. They don’t come.
“And I miss your hugs.” You tear up pitifully, trying again, rather weakly, as he walks over. You don’t want an argument, but why isn’t it coming? “You’ve been gone so much. You know I hate doing the dishes.”
He grabs ahold of your elbow, his thumb digging into the crease as he pulls you close. Your palms dig into your eyes as your forehead dips against his chest. The way your shoulders shake aches him. He should never be the reason for your tears.
He’s been gone more recently, yes, and he feels terrible about it. If he’s not at rugby, the boys want to see him, and if he’s not with the boys, he’s at rugby. He’s missed you so much recently, he just didn’t know you mirrored his emotions.
“I’m the worst,” James says sincerely. “I didn’t know I was making you feel like this.”
“I’m sorry,” you sniffle, stress evident in your choked voice. “I’m not trying to make you feel bad or guilty, by crying I mean.”
He rocks you back and forth, arms securely over your shoulders. His embrace is a little tight, but this is the longest hug you’ve had this week and you can’t bring yourself to say something.
“Please don’t say that, please don’t feel bad for crying.”
“It’s totally manipulative though, I know, I’m sorry.”
He pulls back, searching for something in your eyes. “What are you talking about?”
“It’s just-“
He looks so sad and confused as you pause midway. Helpless, like he doesn’t know what to do with you. Quietly, you feel bad for giving him the crease between his brows.
“You’re not mad?”
“Mad?” James appalls. “I’m going mad knowing I’m the dolt that made you feel like this.”
“James-“
“I’d totally beat someone up if they treated you like this, I would hate them forever.”
“Stop.”
“No, seriously!” He doubles down. “I would never forgive them.”
He’s so unapologetically him it aches you deeply. He’s rosy, smiles and boyish giggles. Warm in the summer, and warm in the winter. Radiating a kind of glow that only very special people are able to emanate. Sometimes you secretly feel like you’ll never be able to glow like him, but he always manages to bring it out of you when you’re around him.
You frown suddenly. “I’m so tired of missing you, Jamie.”
“I miss you too, lovely.” He’s serious again. “How can we get through this?”
You shrug, unused to this gentle treatment you so desperately deserve.
“Should we install weekly dates, hmm?” James asks. “We should, shouldn’t we?”
You shrug again feeling weak with emotion.
“Or tell the boys to bugger off,” he continues without giving you room to speak. “You’re much too kind to say it but I know, my love.”
You laugh quietly, nudging your cheek against his shoulder. He’s fond, smiling as he watches down to you.
“Oh, my girl,” he croons, grabbing your warm face to cradle. “Totally not to pull the victim card, but I missed you so much more.”
“Really?”
“I moon over you while you’re away. The boys are sick of it.”
He leans down nuzzling his cheek against yours, pulling back to kiss the corner of your mouth, the side of your nose, the apple of your cheek. You don’t know what to do with yourself, letting your wringing hands float up to hold his shoulders.
“Thank you for telling me.” He says honestly.
You reel earnestly. Only James Potter could thank you for trying to start an argument.
“You’re welcome.”

The candle shimmers in the room as you sit on the cushioned chair in front of your vanity. You admire your reflection in the dusty mirror and play with the silver pin in your hair. Usually, you love occasions where you can look your prettiest but, on this particular night, dread sits in your stomach.
You feel hands on your shoulders and your head leans back onto your nape as you look up. Your smile widens when you see his dark eyes and brown curls. His hair is slick with fancy gel and the smell of his citrus cologne allows your forming nerves to relax. "Hiya, lovie." He whispers hoarsely and kisses your nose as his hands slide down your arms. It sends goosebumps up your skin.
"Hi, James." You laugh quietly and sit normally.
He smiles at you in the mirror, "Y'ready?" He asks and your smile disappears. James's eyebrows crease and he lowers his head to sprinkle delicate kisses onto your neck and collarbone. You turn around carefully so you don't wrinkle the skin-fitted, satin, slip dress you're wearing and James's eyes follow your movement as you stand up next to him. He licks his lips cheekily, "Ravishing." He mutters.
You want to look unamused, but you smile wearily, "I'm nervous." You whisper.
"Whatever for?" James raises one eyebrow.
"They hate me." You reason and fiddle with his navy blue tie, "They hate everything I represent, Jamie. I'm filth to them."
James snorts and he wraps his arms around you. He kisses your temple, "It's a party. My party. You're my girl, no one will dare mess with you. You'll see my parents and my parents adore you, Y/n/n."
"I know. Of course I know that, but with Voldemort around and all this talk — " You start to mutter but James interrupts you with a sweet kiss. When he pulls away, he's looking into your eyes with a delicately serious expression. An expression so unlike him.
"No one can hurt you when I'm around," He promises. James is always so sure of himself. Some may call it overconfidence but for your sake, you can only pray this is one of the times where his confidence means he's right.
* * *
The Potter's ballroom is made out of expensive marble and lanterns, which drift in the air, illuminate the spacious room. Classical music plays as couples dance, women in elegant dresses drink their champagne in the corners, and older men converse with fancy cigarettes drooping from their wrinkled lips.
You can't help but feel out of place as you seem to be the only one who's enchanted by those lanterns and all the fancy named dishes on silver trays which look delicious and also weirdly disgusting.
James hasn't left your side all evening. Not when he meets up with his best friends, nor when his mother calls his name and wants to introduce him to someone. He guides you with him, his hand on the small of your back, and you smile at his mum, "Hello, Mrs. Potter." You say.
Euphemia Potter beams at you and leans in to kiss your cheeks. She looks down, "What a gorgeous dress, Y/n." She exclaims.
"It's an early anniversary present from James." Your cheeks become warm as you look down at your dress bashfully.
"Good boy." Euphemia chuckles and affectionately pats James's cheek. She turns to the woman next to her, "James, this is Matilda, Orianna's daughter. You remember her from your school years, yes?"
You and James look at Matilda at the same time. She's slim and bony. Her blonde hair is curled in ringlets around her shoulders and her perfume smells extremely expensive. You can't deny she's pretty and a new, uncomfortable, feeling forms in your chest.
Euphemia continues, "Matilda was asking how you were, Jamie, and I just couldn't resist bragging about my beautiful boy."
James nods, "I remember you from Potions our sixth year." He says with a polite smile and Matilda returns the smile with an ecstatic grin.
"Exactly! Oh, it's so nice to connect with you again!" She pauses and her sharp hazel eyes snap to you, "And who is this?" Matilda asks with fake sweetness.
"Y/n Potter." You reply tensely.
"Oh, so you're married." Matilda's smile falters.
"Last summer." James interrupts. He doesn't waste time outstretching his arm and wiggling his fingers as he shows Matilda his ring. It's a normal silver band but by James's excitement, he makes it seem like his ring is the rarest jewel he's ever owned.
If you asked him, it is.
"Isn't he all grown up?" Euphemia comments and Matilda stares at you as she nods absentmindedly, "Now, James, come help me choose a drink for your wife while she makes friends with Matilda," Euphemia says innocently. You turn to protest (you can easily choose your own drink) but his mother has already led James away.
You know Euphemia always means well. You don't have many friends in James's circle and she finds it important to introduce you to as many wizards and witches she knows.
You understand but, at the same time, you don't want to be alone with Matilda. She seemed like a sweet girl in front of James and his mum, but when she has you alone you suddenly feel like a lamb in a wolf's claws.
For good reason because she asks you, "So, I don't remember you from Hogwarts, Y/n? Were you a few years above us?" She fakes a smile.
Ouch, you think, you were two years younger than James.
"I didn't attend Hogwarts."
"Beauxbaton then?"
Hesitantly, you shake your head.
"Ilvermorny? Only, I don't hear an accent." Matilda frowns.
You feel a familiar fear sink in again. Should you have lied? The way Matilda's looking at you now makes you feel uneasy, "I-" You mutter and scan the room. You can't see James anywhere and your heart jumps in your chest at Matilda's next question.
"Are you a muggle?" She squints at you and then moves away a little, her eyes shimmering with disgust, "Oh my merlin, he's married to a muggle." She says and it's loud enough for a few other guests to turn their heads towards you.
You panic and mumble a quick, "Excuse me", as you walk away from her. You can't see your husband anywhere so you wander to the first person you recognize and touch his shoulder. Sirius Black turns around, a concerned look on his face when he sees you,
"Y/n?" He asks.
"Have you seen James?" You ask quietly, feeling foolish as tears brim your eyes.
"No. What happened?" Sirius's arms reach out to hug you and you quickly bury your face in his chest. You can't even form a sentence as all you can hear is cruel whispers as you feel everyone's eyes lock onto you.
"She's a muggle. James Potter married a dirty muggle." Matilda makes a scene childishly, pointing her bony finger directly at you and the entire party feels like it suddenly comes to a halt. You knew this would happen and you want to disappear.
"Don't talk about her like that," You hear your husband snap and you move away from Sirius a little, turning your head around.
"What's happening?” Euphemia asks quietly. You make eye contact with James and the moment he sees your tears, the drink in his hand falls to the floor and shatters at his feet. Striding towards you, he swoops you from Sirius's arms and almost crushes you to his chest.
Matilda narrows her eyes at him.
"You're a pathetic excuse for a witch," James insults her, a dark look in his eyes, and you wish he would stay quiet. His mother stares at him in shock but reaches for his arm anyway,
"Jamie, it's okay." Euphemia tries to calm him down but he's visibly furious now. She turns to Matilda and her family, "How dare you slander my son's wife in that manner? You have no business being here with those foolish and cruel opinions. You can leave my house this instant."
Matilda and her mother look practically appalled, "How could you allow this monstrosity to happen, Euphemia?" Her mother asks and some families look as disgusted as she is. Others look sympathetic and most of James's close friends and family look as furious as he is.
"Monstrosity? He loves her." Euphemia defends you adamantly.
"How can you possibly love a muggle?" Matilda asks James, cheeks flushed, and this time Sirius interrupts,
"Oh, you shut up. You're just nasty and jealous because no one wants a horrible woman like yourself."
Matilda gasps and she looks at Sirius with teary eyes. When she begins to cry loudly, her tears send the entire room into a frenzy. Some jump to defend her, while others start to defend your relationship with James.
In the commotion, your husband takes your hand and quickly leads you out the doors. Outside on the front stairs, you see him take out his wand from inside his blazer and suddenly your entire body jerks. In a few seconds, you find yourself in front of your home and you clutch your stomach.
James holds your hair as you vomit and he soothes circles on your back as he apologizes profusely,
"I'm sorry, my love. I'm so so sorry."
You catch your breath and wipe your mouth with your arm. Now you feel ashamed and gross. You straighten yourself and look at James. He looks extremely guilty. "Didn't I tell you that would happen?" You ask and dramatically slump into him for a hug.
He hugs you and kisses your forehead multiple times, "It shouldn't have, my darling. Matilda is a complete nutter. I don't even know why my mum invites her and her horrible family. Honestly, I know mum means well but she can be so daft sometimes." James squeezes you in his arms.
You smile into his shoulder, "I love your mum. She's always kind to me."
James pulls away and begins to move some hair away from your face, "They should all be kind to you. You're bloody amazing. The smartest and prettiest girl I know." He feels your shoulders drop and he kisses your forehead again, "Come on," He whispers and, with his hand on your back, he leads you inside.
James runs you a warm bath and he washes your body delicately as he tries to scrub away the harsh words and screams from the evening. Then, he dresses you in one of his sweaters and when you sit on the bed you share, James starts to braid your freshly dry and combed hair. It's domestic and you start to feel as fuzzy as the sweater on your skin.
"I love you." You whisper, barely audible but James hears you anyway.
"I would certainly hope so," He tries to lighten the mood as he finishes your braid and pushes your hair over your shoulder, "Otherwise, I would wonder why you married me."
You turn around. James cautiously moves your legs over his crossed ones and he pulls you closer to him, "I would marry you in every lifetime, Jamsey." You admit and he looks pleasantly surprised by your comment.
He smirks, "Even if I was a worm?" He raises his eyebrows teasingly, clearly amused by his own joke.
"Yes. If you were a worm, I'd also want to be a worm, silly.' You reason with a small smile.
"Seems impractical," James chuckles.
You kiss him. You can taste the lasting alcohol from the fancy cocktail he drank, and run a hand into his shaggy hair. "Jamsey," You whisper, burning to hear him say the words, "Tell me you love me?"
James smirks, "I love you, baby."
"And you love me even though I'm only a muggle?" You ask softly, suddenly feeling incredibly insecure that you'll never share something that is so much of who James is. You'll never share memories from Hogwarts, or truly understand the references he makes to the childhood wizard films he loves, and sometimes it still takes you time to remember all the wizard terms he uses when he talks.
James is not pleased with your question, however, "Y/n, do you love me even though I know magic?"
"Of course I do," You answer quickly.
"Then why on earth would you think I love you any less because you don't? I married you, for goodness sakes! You have that pretty ring on your finger to remind you of how much I love you."
James takes your hand and you chuckle when he kisses down your neck, "Okay, you're right, I'm sorry." You say and you feel reassured even when you didn't have to feel insecure. James loves you the way you are. He always has. You've known this from the very first I love you.
"Come on, honey, let's go to sleep." James kisses your cheek.
"Hmm, I was thinking we should do something else," You tease, kissing your husband's nose. James smiles at you and he starts to draw little tiny hearts onto your palm.
"What's that, my love?"
"James, I wanna have a baby." You say. James freezes and his eyes round. He looks at you hesitantly, unsure of his next words,
"You want to have a baby? Now?" He asks and you nod, "I-I don't know if we should — this isn't exactly the safest time to have a kid." James reasons and your heart drops.
He sees your expression and his heart breaks, "No, no, honey. I want a baby." He clarifies, "I just don't want to worry about another love in my life. I worry about you enough, darlin'." He jokes behind some sincerity and you squeeze his hand.
"I understand, James." You look at him and try to hide how sad this situation makes you but James can tell. He can always tell.
"You really want this?" He asks softly, "Even after what happened tonight?"
You let out a choked laugh, "I suppose. I just want a mini-you so badly."
James shakes his head with a smirk, "No, you don't. You know that baby will be an absolute headache if they're anything like I was."
"It'll be worth it," You mumble seriously.
You can see James think for a moment and then he beams and says, "Tell ya what, let's have our baby, yeah?"
"Yeah?" Your eyebrows raise in question.
James pauses a moment, "But, can we plan on staying with your parents for a while until things blow over? Just as a precaution?" He looks a little embarrassed to even ask.
You frown. James wants to live with your parents? Your muggle family? Your heart swells. When you married him, you'd both agreed to live with him in his world. Only a year ago it felt like James would never consider living somewhere where he couldn't access magic.
You look at him softly, "Are you sure?"
James nods and leans in to cup your cheeks, "Anything for you, my love. You and your happiness are the most important things in my life." You feel warm spread across your body as he kisses you and helps you climb into his lap. "I love you." He whispers into your ear as his hands lower themselves to your hips.
You kiss his face, all down his neck, until your hands trail down his stomach to his belt and you attach your lips to the crook of his neck. James lets out a shaky breath, "I love you more, honey." You say and sit up to caress his cheek, "Let's make that baby, yeah?" You grin.
"Don' have to ask me twice, love." James laughs in a mumble and turns you over, his arm wrapped around the small of your back as he presses his lips to yours.

drunken love affair
summary | college frat wedding
pairing | frat boy!james potter x fem!reader
warning | fluff, drinking, everyone is drunk, james is drunk and in love
word count | 2.2k
Joining a frat was not James’s first thought when he started university, let alone becoming frat president. Always making sure to put his studies first, members of the frat noticed how disconnected James had become from everyone.
Into his freshman year, second semester was when he had met you. It was 7:55 and James was still half asleep, not having enough time to get some coffee or any caffeine for that matter before leaving for his first class of the day.
James wasn’t a morning person, but the 8am class was the only offering and he needed to take the class.
Blinking his eyes rapidly to wake himself up, you could probably still see the sleep marks on his face and his bedhead was evident. So when you had sat down next to him, James was not prepared.
Hearing shuffling next to him, James looked over to see the most beautiful girl on campus. First of all, he couldn’t believe how put together you were for it being so early, and how you smelled like peaches. James stared linger, surprisingly looking because you hadn’t looked his away.
He tore his gaze away from you when the professor started the lecture, introducing them before asking everyone to turn to a neighbor and introduce themselves.
“Hi.” Hearing your melodic voice, James smiled softly, turning towards you, “I’m Y/n, first year.”
“James.” He replied groggily, his morning voice still evident, “Also a first year.”
Walking into the house, each of the pledges greeting you immediately. You always giggled at the antics of the pledges, the boys desperate to join and were willing to do anything. James and the rest of the brothers were not cruel like some of the other frats on campus, there were bad things here and there but you remembered waking up to over 30 text messages on your birthday, one from each of the pledges.
Saying hello to the rest of the brothers, you made your way up to James’s room, knocking on the door before entering.
Frowning, you noticed how James was in the same spot he was in when you had left earlier that morning for your class.
“James, did you go to class today?” It was into the evening, the sun starting to set soon. As spring came, the days became longer and you were sure that James was probably sitting at his desk for at least 8 hours.
“No, I need to finish this report.” He muttered towards you, barely sparing you a glance. You knew there wasn’t anything you could do to pull him away from his work. Sighing to yourself, you set down your stuff, pressing a kiss to his temple before heading back downstairs.
Sirius could see the defeated look on your face when you went into the kitchen, starting to make him something to eat knowing he probably didn’t eat the entire day.
“You alright there Y/n/n?” Sirius questioned.
“Yeah, I’m fine, just worried about James.” You whispered, leaning against the counter, “He’s overworking himself, and you know how he gets it, I just need to find something to get him out of his head.”
Saying nothing more, you left with a plate heading back upstairs leaving Sirius in the kitchen. Keeping your words in his head, it was like the lights in his head switched on.
Running like a maniac around the house, all the brothers and pledges not even sparing a glance to him, a normal occurrence.
Remus being the social chair had been a running joke because of how anti-social he looked when you first met him.
“I have…an idea.” Sirius held onto Remus’s bedroom door frame, doubled down, the other hand on his knee as he caught his breath. “We should have a wedding.”
Remus’s eyes widened, “Sirius we’ve only been together for 6 months, it’s-”
“Not for us.” Sirius interrupted, “For James and Y/n.”
“I don’t think either of them want that either.” Remus answered.
“Not like a real wedding, well yes a wedding but James has been in a funk and we haven’t held a social in a while, invite the other frats and sororities and fake marry James and Y/n.”
Remus just sat with the thought for the moment, before he wanted to protest, Sirius beat him to it.
“Don’t say no, I know you think it is a good idea.” Sirius defended himself. Before Remus could even answer his boyfriend, Sirius had already left the room.
Sirius didn’t bring the idea up to you, hoping it would be a surprise so when James ‘proposed’, you’d give a real reaction.
Finally taking time away from his work, James thought the timing was perfect because of your anniversary that was coming up, he wanted to make it special. Luckily going to school in the city, he was surrounded by higher end jewelry stores.
James spent days trying to find you the perfect ring. It wasn’t just some fake wedding ring he was looking for, but a promise ring. James knew from the moment he met you that he never wanted to let you go.
After looking for almost a week now, James was defeated, he had lost hope and along with that had gone to almost every shop within a 5 mile radius.
Finishing up with class and heading into the city for lunch, James was trying to come up with some idea of what to do when he walked past it.
He froze on the street, the people around him a little annoyed that he didn’t keep going. He stared into the window of the shop, looking at the ring on display. Going into the shop, he didn’t spare any more time before buying the ring.
The velvet box was in his pocket when he arrived back at the house, sending out a text to Sirius to get enough roses for each pledge to have one.
The brothers and pledges worked the rest of the afternoon until you arrived, helping James with his proposal.
Getting out of the lab, it was well past your dinner time, you were sore from standing for hours, working with lab partners who were not making it any easier. You wanted to see James, eat dinner and go to bed.
Upon entering the house, you felt something off. The house looked cleaner and smelled nice, and though the main lights were never turned on, the color of the lights were different.
Turning the corner towards the main part of the house, you were met with a tunnel of pledges.
“For you.” The first one said, offering you the rose. From there each pledge handed you a rose as you continued towards the main living room.
Soon as the pledges ended, it turned into brothers, the ones you were closest with, ending with Remus and Sirius handing you a rose.
Turning back to the main living room, you noticed how the lights were dimmed and there were candles everywhere, and James standing in the middle.
“Jamie, what is this?” You smiled, the bouquet of roses still in your hand.
“I’ve been busy lately and Sirius thought we needed something for a social event, and then what better than a wedding.” James laughed. You stared at your boyfriend in shock as he got down on one knee.
He just laughed quietly to himself before looking back up at you, “Will you marry me?”
“Of course you numb nuts.” You laughed getting down on your knees with him, letting him slide the ring onto your ringer, before kissing him.
All the boys cheered, as James wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you to the ground. Shrieking, you tightened your arms around James as he kissed you again.
“We’re getting married.” You smiled, resting your forehead against his.
“Yes we are.”
-
Dressed in white surrounded by girls from other sororities with all sorts of drinks everywhere. The entire house was plastered, the brothers making sure you and James don’t see each other until the ceremony.
“Shot!” Marlene yelled out, passing around shooters to everyone before handing the last one to you, “To the bride!”
The rest of the girls echoed their words, just you smiled at the antics of her before drinking. Your face scrunched up at the taste, knowing you weren’t drunk enough to be taking shots.
“Oh isn’t this exciting.” Dorcas expressed. Her and Marlene had deemed themselves as your ‘bridesmaids’, trying to make it seem as real as possible.
“You ready Y/n/n?” Sirius peeked his head inside. The rest of the girls scrambled out of the room while Marlene helped you with the veil while Dorcas was getting out a stain from your dress already.
“Quit it you two.” You gasped, “Everyone here is drunk, no one is going to notice a small stain.”
Gladly accepting Sirius’s hand, you let him guide him out to the backyard. Slipping his hand into his pants pocket he pulled out a flask, offering it towards you.
“To clear your last minute jitters.” He smirked. You just smiled, taking the flask and taking a sip.
Coming outside, you just laughed seeing everyone in the audience practically screaming for you as Sirius walked you down the aisle. Seeing James at the altar who was probably cheering the loudest out of everyone.
Finally reaching him, you grabbed his hand as he helped you up to him. Not being able to contain himself, James’s hands were placed on your cheeks as he pulled you towards him.
“Not yet!” Remus rolled his eyes, pulling James away from you. He just pouted, kissing the tip of your nose before pulling away and reaching for your hands.
“Alright alright,” Remus yelled out, his voice going over everyone else's, “We are gathered here today for the union of James Potter and Y/n L/n.”
You and James drowned out Remus’s voice as the two of you looked at each other. As much as this was fake, you could imagine the two of you actually getting married.
“If there is anyone who believes that these two shouldn’t be together, speak now or forever hold your peace.” Remus spoke.
Just as one of pledges went to object, something Sirius pushed him to do for a laugh, James glared down at the pledge.
“Parker, you better not say a single word.” James yelled. The pledge nodded, before looking back down.
Smiling, you covered your hand over your mouth to conceal your laugh.
“Well then, by the power invested in me, I pronounce the two of you husband and wife, you can now kiss your bride.”
Wrapping his arms around your waist, James pulled you down, dipping you down as he kissed you. Wrapping your arms around his neck to stabilize yourself, you pushed him closer towards you.
Pulling you back up, James smiled, fixing your hair and kissing you once more.
Dragging you down the aisle, he smiled with the rest of his brothers as he brought you back inside the house.
You just stood in the kitchen he maneuvered around, grabbing two champagne glasses and a bottle of champagne you didn’t know he even had.
“For the bride.” James offered you a glass. Clinking your glass against his, you took a sip.
“We’re married.” You whispered, smiling, knowing the moment was going to be ruined in a mere seconds.
“Yes we are.” James kissed your forehead.
“Let’s get drinking!” Sirius yelled coming back inside. You just smiled, pecking his lips before joining everyone else.
Music was blasting through the speakers, the social now just turning into a party. You and James were together the entire night, just matching each other with drinks, but having a higher tolerance than James, you weren’t as drunk as him.
“Hello, hello.” James grabbed the microphone from the dj booth, “I’d like to make an announcement.
Thank you to everyone who came tonight to witness a beautiful moment between me and Y/n, I got to marry the love of my life tonight and even though it wasn’t real, it was real to me.”
Though he was drunk, you could hear the sincerity in his voice, just smiling softly at his drunken antics.
“And have a drink, and enjoy the night.” He finished out his speech. All the brothers cheered for him as he left the dj booth and returned his way back to you.
“Hello love.” He smiled, pulling you into him, your cheek squished against his.
“Jamie,” You giggled, “you’re drunk.
“In love.” He retorted. You just shook your head, wrapping your arms around him to keep him stabilized.
“Alright husband, let’s get you some water.” You pulled him into the kitchen, leaning him against the counter.
Turning away from him, you didn’t notice the look James was giving you, his eyes full of love, a smile on his face.
“What?” You asked, seeing him looking at you.
“You are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, and you’re all mine.” He smiled, taking the glass of water from you. Smiling, you kissed his cheek, staying in his arms.
“Yeah?” You asked.
“Of course.” He drunkenly babbled, “Gonna be with you forever and ever.”
“Forever and ever.”

3rd Person POV
"No! I chose him before." She shouted at her twin, clutching the stuffed bunny tighter in her embrace.
"But I want it!" Lily whined throwing a tantrum.
"No! I won't give it, you didn't want it a minute ago." She protested.
"But I want it now!"
A bitter smile formed on her lips when the memory of their 10th birthday danced in her mind.
Her parents had brought them two stuffed bunnies, one pink and the other one yellow.
Lily had chosen the pink one and Y/N was happy with the yellow one but after a few days when Lily was bored of her toy, she wanted the other bunny, which Y/N had grown fond of. Despite her protests Lily had taken away the bunny that belonged to her.
A simple and silly memory but it held so much significance over the situation both the sisters were in again.
She was still laying on bed, facing the wall without a wink of sleep in her eyes.
All the tears she had formed and preserved in her eyes for the past 5 years of being with James, flowed freely tonight.
Now, she neither had any tears or any energy to spare.
She could see the light of the dawn seeping through the window. She got up from the bed. Her head was pounding and her eyes felt like fire so she decided to get a relaxing shower and headed straight to the bathroom.
When she looked into the mirror, she could barely recognise herself, she saw an exhausted and frail woman with dark circles and chapped lips.
She felt a ball of pain in her throat but her eyes were bone-dry. She had seemed to lose the ability to cry.
She tried to ignore the figure staring back at her from the mirror and started tending herself.
First she took a nice hot shower to fend off the exhaustion from her body. Then she put several potions and creams to make herself look presentable. She applied a potion to give her face a natural glow, a cream that instantly vanishes dark circles and so many more.
After half an hour, she was once again in her old, perfect form. Fiery, red curls complimented her face-cut, her cheeks looked like plump strawberries and lips appeared like soft rose petals, body clad in a beautiful white cardigan and pair of na y blue jeans but there was something off about her appearance. Her emerald eyes lacked the shine they once had. It seemed as if the rivers of sorrow that flowed through them last night took the bright sunshine from them, leaving a gloomy shadow over them.
She climbed down the stairs and glanced at the grandfather clock in the living room. It was 6 in the morning. It was Sunday so James wouldn't wake up before 9 or 10 so she decided to delay the breakfast and go look after her floral garden.
Flowers have always been her favourite creation by mother nature. They were sweet and beautiful, they were like her. She had what many of her friends called a green hand. Whichever plant she potted would grow up to be lush and healthy. She had used this talent to grow a beautiful garden in the backyard of the Potter Manor.
Her garden was now beaming with different colours of roses. But she didn't like roses, they were overly sweet smelling for her. She prepared different colours of bright violets. They were her favourite flowers but James insisted upon planting roses and she did what he asked her to without any questions. It didn't even click her back then, that roses were Lily's favourite.
Shaking her head, she got busy with her gardening but her mind kept on running a series of thoughts. She couldn't decide if she should confront James or if she should act like living in her bubble.
She started contemplating the possible outcomes from both the situations.
If she confronted James, there were two possible outcomes she could expect. First, James would feel guilty and decide to get separated from each other. Second, he would get defensive, and somehow manage to make her believe that she is the one wrong in the situation.
They had been in a similar situation when she has asked him about his past feelings for Lily in their seventh year.
They were in the Gryffindor common room, cuddling by the fireplace. The question had been bugging her for months and she knew she had to ask him or else it'll eat her form inside. It was simple question really,
"Do you still have feelings for Lily?"
To which he had replied in a very aggrevated tone,
"No! Whatever gave you that idea? I did fancy her at one point but now it's only you, y/n/n. No one take your place, it actually hurts me that you still don't trust me."
The next half an hour she had spent trying to convince him that she loved him and trusted him more than herself.
She knew she couldn't confront him. The thought of separating from James made her feel weird and sick in her stomach.
She knew it would be liberating, getting free from a bond that just takes from her and gives her nothing back but she didn't want liberation, she wanted to be imprisoned in his love, she wanted to be her Jamie's prisoner.
But she knew if she kept her feelings within her and act as if nothing's wrong, those jarred emotions will slowly kill her. They will suffocate her until she forgets how to breath.
She knew that if she chose to act as if nothing happened, life would become a living hell where she will degrade herself and stay with the rotting corpse of her dignity but she would get to keep James, even if she wouldn't have him all but at the end of the day, she will be associated with him as his wife and she will carry his name with her in the society.
She had to make a choice. A choice between suffocation and liberation. She was in a dilema but deep within she knew she would choose suffocation.
She was pulled back from her thoughts when she heard the loud crack of apparating that came from the front yard.
Upon reaching the front door, she saw the bright smiling face of her husband's bestfriend, Sirius Black.
"Hey Y/n/n. Sorry for not wishing you yesterday but I gave my wishes to James and told him to give them to you." Sirius explained whilst hugging her.
She had always been fond of Sirius, he was a living ray of sunshine, always bringing happiness with him. He always managed to make her laugh or atleast bring a smile on face. Today was no different. Even in a gloomy state of mind, he managed to make her smile a little.
"So what's in the menu?" Sirius asked plopping down on the couch.
It had become a tradition now. Sirius, James and her always had breakfast together every Sunday. She liked it, she liked to see her husband carefree and cheerful, joking around with his bestfriend. She always prepared a large buffet of breakfast for the three but with all that happened last night, she had forgotten about today.
"You tell me, I haven't started cooking yet." I respond from the kitchen.
"Hey, you know, let's just stall it for now, let James wake up and let him decide, yeah. Now come here and talk to me." Sirius suggested.
She knew he had noticed that something was wrong. Sirius never really asked her to sit down with him and have a talk. Their relationship was casual, she wasn't really a friend to him, she was his bestfriend's wife. Their relationship dynamics was as it was supposed to be so  his suggestion took her by suprise.
"What do you wanna talk about?" She questioned him, eyeing his demeanor.
"Well, I don't know, how was last night, how did you guys celebrate." He asked her carefully.
"There wasn't much left to celebrate as he was he was already drunk when he came home, stop pretending as if you know nothing about it." She let out a bit of her anger and frustration.
"I wasn't with him yesterday, I was with Moony....." Sirius seemed a bit surprised at first but then trailed off mid-sentence.
She would be lying if she said that she wasn't shocked to know that James wasn't with Sirius but then the realisation dawned upon her. He was with Lily last night, the night of their wedding anniversary.
There was a moment of deafening silence when she finally spoke.
"You know about her, don't you?"
Sirius gulped and replied,
"Who are you talking about?"
"Stop pretending Sirius, I know he's having an affair with Lily. He...... He took he-her name in bed last night." She croaked with a heavy voice, tears threatening spill.
Sirius was flabbergasted. He couldn't understand how to reply to that. He just sat there, his head hung low, unable to look into her eyes.
"Back in 6th year, when you made him ask me out, you knew he hadn't moved on from her." She questioned Sirius.
He didn't say anything and just shook his head in yes.
"And yet you let him be in another relationship. Why did you do that Sirius?"
Sirius lifted up his head and she could clearly see the guilt and regret in his eyes.
"I'll not hide anything from you and be honest. Y/N, we thought that you'll be a nice distraction for him and also serve as a jealousy-inducing factor for Lily." Sirius explained.
"But then, when she stood her stance, James thought you'll be the best replacement, so he proposed you." He continued with a quivering voice.
She couldn't do anything but take a long, shuddering breath. She waited for him to continue. To defend himself but as if reading her mind, he said,
"Y/N, I won't defend myself or justify my actions. I won't say that we weren't in our right minds because we knew what we were doing, I knew what I was doing. I could've stopped it, I could've stopped it all. I could've stopped him right there when he suggested you as a rebound, I could've stopped him from proposing you, I could've stopped him from marrying you and ruining your life but I didn't. A part of me thinks because I feel indebted to James. If it weren't for him and his parents, I don't even know if I would be alive, I owe him my life Y/N. But now, I realise that as a friend, I should've stopped him from doing such a big mistake." Sirius poured his heart out, his voice and eyes wet with tears.
There was a heavy silence between them. She didn't know what say. All of this was becoming hard for her to process. She felt the weight of the universe on her chest. Suddenly, Sirius broke the silence.
"I did stop him once, I asked him not to get with Lily behind your back once I got to know about it. He had told me about it after he had spent  a night with her. When he insisted that he was still in love with Lily but couldn't just leave you now that both of your families were involved, so he had decided to go behind your back. Trust me Y/N, I wanted to slap some sense into him but then that feeling of indebtedness came upon me and I did what I had done since I was 11, I agreed with him and supported him."
"Y/N, I won't ask for your forgiveness because I don't deserve it but I want you to know that I feel guilty and I know that I am your criminal and I will forever be sorry to you." Sirius apologized.
"James tells you everything, doesn't he?" She questioned and he nodded his head.
"When and how did all of this start?"
Sirius just stared at her for a moment but then looked away from her and started speaking.
"When the two of you got married, Lily understood that she wanted James. So, she confessed to him about her feelings but James denied her because he really wanted to give you a chance. But now Lily was adamant, so she would try and woe James, using his past feelings against him. She would make suggestive comments, pay extra attention to him during family gatherings, visit him in the ministry and what not. James tried to avoid her until one day he caved in and the both slept together for the first time."
She felt like the world around her was collapsing and she couldn't help but sit in the middle of the apocalypse and watch.
After a few minutes Sirius got up and gathered his jacket, ready to leave.
"Sirius please, at least have breakfast." She pleaded.
"It's ok Y/N. I don't think I can eat or look James or you in the eyes." Sirius reasoned.
"Can I trust you that you won't mention this conversation to James." She inquired.
Sirius smiled a little and said,
"Yes you can, I'm a trustworthy dog."
This made her smile too. She went up to the door to see him off. Before leaving he turned around and said something that would keep her awake for several coming nights.
"I'm sorry Y/N. I should've just let Moony ask you out."
"What do you mean?" She asked with furrowed brows.
"Remus, he liked you, he was too shy to say it out loud, I almost convinced him to ask you out but then you started dating James so he kept quite." Sirius revealed the truth to her.
Those words wreaked havoc inside her. Weirdly enough, It made her stomach flutter. Why did she feel heat on the back of her neck?
"So you helped James to ask me out but also almost convinced Remus to ask me out. What was going in your head Sirius?" She questioned him, frustration laced in her voice.
"I helped James because I felt obliged to do so as a best friend, but I genuinely wanted Remus to date you because I knew he would have really kept you happy." Sirius explained.
"James and him had a huge fight before your wedding. Moony accused him of using you as a replacement and James asked him not to come to the wedding if it bothered him so much." He continued.
"Y/n/n, let go of James. I know it will be difficult for you but staying with James will slowly but surely kill you. Give Moony a chance, he'll show you what real happiness is." Sirius said in a serious voice.
"What if he has moved on?" She voiced her concern.
"He hasn't Y/n/n, I know he hasn't.
With that Sirius apparated with a flick of his wand.
There once again was a storm brewing in her but this time the storm promised to bring enough rain to quench the parched land suffering from drought.
Did Remus really like her? Did the guy who she had a crush on since 3rd year really liked her back.
It was true. She had always been fond of Remus. She even tried dropping hints at him for three consecutive years but when he didn't respond to any, she moved on. But there still was a fragment of her huge crush, hidden in deep, dark corners of her heart.
It seemed like today Sirius had illuminated that corner.
"Who was it?" James' groggy voice brought her back to reality.
"Sirius, he remembered some work so hel left." She lied to James avoiding eye contact.
"Huh, that's unusual but then again it's Padfoot so nothing's really unusual." James chucked.
It pinched her how James is just acting as if nothing drastic happened last night. He probably doesn't even remember what happened last night.
His presence, his voice, his existence was making it difficult to forget about last night.
All she could remember was how he moaned her name. She also remembered how he let her touch him last night. Only that the gesture wasn't meant for her, it was meant for Lily. It crushed her soul knowing that her husband forbade her from touching him while intercourse but let her sister touch him, provide her with the intimacy which belonged to her.
However, she decided to go with the flow as she was unable to fanthom the gravity of the situation she was thrown into overnight.
This haze went on for two weeks. Their anniversary was on 12th of January, today was 28th.
These two weeks were life-changing for her. She slowly kept loosing all the affection she held for James.
They say that it's easy fall in love but difficult to get out of it but she didn't feel the same.
Yes she fell for James easily but getting out of it didn't seem difficult. It hurt no doubt but slowly she had almost lost all the love and adoration she had for James. Now, she had nothing for him. She didn't hate him or dispise him but she didn't love him either. She had become numb towards him.
She shared her feelings with Sirius, who almost regularly visited her. They had grown quite close and she cherished this new-found friendship.
When she told him about her indifference towards James, he had remained quiet for a while and then asked her a question.
"What made you fall for him?"
She was taken by surprise because she didn't' know what made her fall for her husband.
After thinking about it the whole night she had come to the conclusion that she fell for James because of the extravagant efforts he would put into pleasing Lily and show his love for her. That's when she noticed him, and unbeknownst to her, she fell in love with the man who would go to any extent to show his love for his women. She craved that kind of love and when James asked her out, she saw a little ray of hope that she might get her portion of unconditional love from James.
When she didn't get that kind of affection from James, her mind created a bubble of false comfort that James loved her just like she wanted him to as a coping mechanism. This bubble was the reason she showered him with wholehearted affection and zeal because she thought he did so as well.
But since her bubble had burst, she knew James didn't really love her, so automatically her love for him diminished too.
Ever since she had accepted the fact that she was out of love with James, the world around her changed. She changed. The colours become brighter and she became more beautiful. She started caring for herself, cooking dishes that she liked and not just what James did. She started getting ready and dressed up, not for impressing James but because she wanted to.
It was as if she the moment she fell out of love with him, she fell back in love with herself.
She suddenly didn't feel like suffocating in her big house, she felt that there was a crack in her cage, letting in some fresh air. She would imagine her self roaming the streets of Hogsmeade, people around her happy and satisfied with their lives, a never-ending spring that brings nothing but joy.
Though, often while thinking of the outside world, she would see a man peering at her from the corners of the streets. A tall man with tawny hair and scarred face.
He had constantly been in her thoughts ever since Sirius told her about his liking for her. She had let go of any feelings she had for Remus back in Hogwarts, and now, somewhere it felt illegal to think about him. Whatever the situation is, that doesn't change the fact that he was still her husband's very close friend, though their contacts were limited.
But whenever she would allow herself to sway a little, she would remember the times they spent hours in the library, studying, chatting and giggling, how Remus would sneak her out of the castle to go to the Honeydukes sweet shop.
These memories would make her open to a possibility where they could do all of this again but with a little more intimacy.
There still were a million thoughts in her head but they didn't weigh her down.
She was lost in her thoughts, doing some household chores when the doorbell rang. She wasn't expecting anyone, 10 o'clock on a Monday morning.
When she opened the door, her eyes met with a pair of amber ones. Those eyes held a large amount of hope in them.
"Remus?" That was all she could whispered with a hollow voice.
"Hey dove, can I come in?" Remus greeted her with his usual charming smile.
Dove. That was the nickname Remus used for her all the time. Early on it use to be endearing but today, it made her stomach flutter, the same way it would when James called her 'love'.
"Yeah sure, come in." She let him in the house, taking him to the living room.
"What will you have, tea or coffee?" She asked him politely.
"You know neither right, I always prefer hot chocolate over the two." He smiled at her.
A big smile took its place on her lips too. He hadn't changed one bit.
She prepared two hot cups of cocoa and sit sat on the sofa chair in front of him.
"So, what took you two years to come visit me?" She taunted him slightly.
"I had my reasons and I guess you know them." Remus answered looking in her eyes.
"I'll cut to the chase y/n/n, Sirius told me about your unhappy marriage and I know what I am about to do is wrong and as a friend to James I shouldn't do it but as your bestfriend I have to. Dove, leave him." Remus said all of this in one single breath.
She kept quite as she knew he wasn't quite done yet.
"Y/n, I have...... I have loved you for years. Dove I wanted to ask you-."
"I know Rem, I know everything." She smiled at him softly.
"You do?" Remus was taken aback. He never told about his feelings to anyone except......
"Sirius played matchmaker again but this time with the right person." She explained.
She was in a constant war with herself on Remus's topic for the past two weeks but seeing him today ended the war in the favour of eternity with Remus.
"Rem, I think I wanna breath again, I wanna be free. I wanna be yours. I wanna be with you." She confessed.
She could see the happiness flooding his eyes and before she knew it, she was in his tight embrace. His hug felt like fire on a cold winter evening. She wanted to melt into him and be their forever.
"Wait a second." She went upstairs to get something.
She came back with a big envelope in her hand. Remus could see the shiny ministry logo on it. It was a legal document. He had his guesses as to what it could be.
"This is my gift for Lily. It's our birthday in a few days and I'm gonna gift her my husband." She stated.
"Dove, do you mind me asking what lead you to realise he was the wrong person for you. I mean, didn't you guys celebrate your wedding anniversary a few days ago." Remus asked.
"Yeah we did. That very night, he said her name when he was in bed with me."
Her words weren't explicit but Remus understood what she meant.
"Dove...." Remus whispered sympaticaly.
"Don't be sympathetic Rem, I'm actually glad this happened early on in our marriage and not late into it. James and I never belonged together, he belongs with Lily and I am the only obstacle in between them. Soon, I'll clear their path." She had confidence in her voice.
"Remus, I want you there, during my birthday." She insisted.
"Ofcourse." He replied sincerely.
After a few minutes of chatting, Remus left with a sweet kiss on her forehead.
She could still feel his lips lingering on her. It felt good.
The rest two days, she spent organising a small party with only their close friends.
The day before her birthday, James had an 'important work' out of town and had to stay there overnight. She knew what important work he had. He wanted to be there with Lily at the midnight to be the first one to wish her.
She didn't mind though because of her numbness toward James. She didn't even insist him to stay.
As promised, James had returned in the evening for her party. He entered with Lily by her side.
"Look who I brought." He had said enthusiastically.
The party wasn't a wild one but everyone who came enjoyed.
She had only invited close friends, whom she imagined knew about James and Lily. There were the Marauders, Frank and Alice, Marlene, Dorcas and Mary.
The party went on for a long time and after cutting the cake, everyone started giving out presents. At the last, only the birthday girls had to give each other their presents.
Lily had bought her a beautiful heart shaped locket which smelled like her favourite colone.
It was now her turn to give Lily her gift.
So y/n/n what did you get me?" Lily asked her.
She looked at Lily, then James and then towards Remus. He smiled at her and gave her a nod.
"Just a second." She replied and went upstairs in her bedroom.
When she returned, she had a big envelope in her hamds. With thudding heartbeats, she approached her twin. She handed over the envelope to Lily and whispered,
"Happy Birthday Lils."
Lily smiled at her and started opening her gift.
She held her breath with anticipation and waited for Lily to read the papers.
When Lily looked up, she had tears in her eyes.
"Y/n/n, why would you do this." She whispered with a teary voice.
Maybe it's the twin thing or maybe it's her old habit of crying if a person in front of her cries but she could feel tears prick in her eyes.
She took a long breath and spoke,
"It's for the best Lily, I wanna be free, I want to be able to breathe again." She explained.
The atmosphere of the room had suddenly changed, James had gotten worried seeing both sisters cry.
"What is it Lily, what are the papers about?"
James enquired.
"They're our divorce papers James. I'm leaving you so that you both don't have to sneak behind my back anymore. You two can now be together without me coming in between." She said, trying to control her crying voice.
"WHAT?! Have you lost your mind Y/n, what are you talking about, who provoked you? James yelled, side-eyeing Remus.
"Nobody provoked me James, it's just something that happened that cleared my doubts." She explained in a calm tone.
"What happened?" James demanded.
"You wouldn't want me to say this in front of your friends."
No I want you to tell me the reason, I don't care if it's in front of my friends, you've already created a scene, what's the worst that could happen."
"Fine, you want the reason, so here's the reason. On the night of our anniversary, you moaned my sister's name in my ear while making love to me." She stated sternly.
James didn't say anything and just hung his head low. He doesn't remember anything of such sort but he knows that he must've done it.
"James, I don't hate you for this, I could never hate you, it's just that I don't love you anymore. So staying with you will be a waste of time and energy for both of us. Lily, I don't have any hard feelings for both of you either. You'll always remain my favourite sister and that's why I want to see you happy. I know you'll be happy with James."
"What about mom and dad and what about Fleamont and Euphemia, they'll be heartbroken." Lily sniffled.
"Should've thought about that before cheating on your sister Lily." She sighed.
"Tell them it was my fault, that I didn't want to stay with you anymore. I've signed the papers and given my testimony to the ministry officer. You'll have to do the same and the procedure will be over." She addressed James.
"Can't we work this out?" He asked her sincerely, not meeting her eyes.
"We don't need to James, I'm not mad at you. James, we both are two different people. I didn't realise this earlier because I didn't wanted to. I really wanted you to love me the same way you love her. But you traded my violets for her roses. You wanted y/n to be Lily. The things that you love are the things I hate. It's simple James, I'm choosing this life. I'm choosing myself."
With that being said, she got up, went upstairs to get her already packed suitcase and left the Potter Manor once and for all. She apparated straight to Remus's house.
Remus followed her shortly but before leaving he had to say what he wanted to say for the past five years. Remus looked into James' eyes and said,
"I can keep her happier than you ever did and I will. No hard feelings mate."
With that he apparated back to his house as well.
When they finnally sat down on Remus's couch, she looked at him.
He had nothing but pure adoration for her in his eyes.
"Can I kiss you dove?" He whispered quietly.
She didn't say anything but leaned into him. Their lips fit each other like puzzle pieces and the bliss she experienced was like never before.
At that moment, Remus did make her happier than James ever did.
One Year Later
There's something in the air of Hogsmeade. It felt fresh and sweet. Maybe it's the first summer breeze. Summer was her favourite season.
She didn't want this sweetness to change, she wanted it be real, she wanted it to be beginning of something happening.
"You ready dove?" Remus's sweet voice came from behind her.
"Yes" She replied taking in a deep breath.
They both held eachother's hands and apparated to the same barn where she married James.
The wheat field shone like gold under the sunlight.
"The camera's all set, let's do it." She excitedly.
They both sat down on the ground, the sun shining over them and looked deep into each other eyes.
Y/n then thought to herself that she won't be all alone, she'll always have her Rem by her side.

James Potter
James Potter? Why he is a troublemaker, of course! Along with his faithful troublemaker mate; Sirius Black. The two were inseparable. Running through the halls, and causing havoc within the Hogwarts Castle. He may be called; obnoxious, bully, or prat. But he had an ego the size of a lake, but a heart to match it.

the war was painfully long and sorrowful, and when you fell pregnant, you were terrified to bring a baby into such a warstricken world.
but when your son was only a year old, the terror ended with what you thought would become a sacrifice. ultimately, things shook out and voldermort was killed.
you and james got the happy years raising your son that you needed.
"this is the life we deserve angel, i promise." james had whispered on the night of your wedding.
philosopher's stone
"go on harry, run!" james nudged your son's shoulder, who gripped his trolley uncertaintly.
you ruffled his hair, "don't worry, dad'll go first."
your husband shifted awkwardly, "erm well, i haven't... in a while, you know... since our last year and..."
with a laugh and an eyeroll, you slipped through the barrier, harry and james appearing just after, confidence restored.
and as harry rushed away to converse and load his things onto the train, you watched him with bittersweet love.
when the train took off, chugging away, james squeezed an arm around your shoulder as you buried your face into him to hide your upset.
"he's gonna have fun! don't cry love."
you sniffled, "oh yeah, like you won't be bawling later."
chamber of secrets
well, have fun he did.
amongst hosting sleepovers with his newfound trio over the holidays, it had slipped his mind to mention he could speak parseltongue, or that the heir of slytherin was traversing the school with a murderous basilisk.
you clutched your heart with an open mouth as you read the letter from dumbledore, "basilisk?" you screeched.
meanwhile james enthusiastically encouraged your son with a howler.
"oh merlin is ginny alright?"
"so proud of you harry!"
"fawkes? oh gods-"
"how's quidditch going anyway?"
"hermione, petrified?"
"oh, and also-" james frowned, cutting himself off and turning to you, "did you just say hermione was petrified? how'd harry and ron get anything done?"
you laughed shakily, still in fear, "oh i'm sure she found a way to tell them anyway."
james noticed your unease, ended the howler and swept you up into a dramatic hug, spinning you round until your ribs hurt from laughter.
"jamie, put me down!" you gasped out through your giggling, which he finally did.
"we raised the coolest son in the world."
prisoner of azkaban
your heart dropped when you read the headlines - peter pettigrew escapes azkaban.
james and you shared a look of pain. for the first time, this was not your husband comforting you when you fretted over harry being so far from home. this was a real threat, maybe even more so terrifying for james.
"mum, dad? what are you reading?"
wordlessly, james leaned back onto the sofa and a ran a hand through his signature mop of hair.
harry moved forward, peering at it, "peter pettigrew? who's that?"
you let out a sigh. thirteen years without harry knowing wormtail as the man that had almost got you all killed had been a push. it was always going to come to this eventually.
you felt better knowing remus would be teaching at hogwarts this year, sirius moving to the castle with him.
still, that night you could do nothing for james but let him push his face into your neck and tighten your arms around him.
goblet of fire
when harry's name was pulled from that goblet, james surprised everyone by being fully and completely on your side, screaming in dumbledore's office with mcgonagall's backing, so loudly the owlery rustled every few minutes.
and when you finally accepted the situation, you were his most enthusiastic supporters, taking temporary residence up in hogsmeade and spending your weekends burning the 'potter stinks' badge.
"you can't beat up a child."
you scoffed, "james, i'm not going to beat him up. the malfoys weren't ever going to raise a nice kid, i don't blame him yet."
james hummed, nodding, "mhm, right, so why is your wand in your hand?"
you looked down at it with a sharp laugh, "this isn't beating him up."
order of the phoenix
admist the war, something you never wanted your son to experience, there was a tiny beacon of what you thought was hope.
harry's relationship problems - he did not consider them hope.
"so in short, i really like cho, but she's just broken up with cedric."
you hummed in thought, "i see. are you close with cedric, will it impact your friendship?"
harry groaned, thunking his head back onto the wall, "well, i really like him too. it's a classic bi crisis situation."
considering the triangle until it made both of your head's hurt, he threw his hands in the air, "alright, i'm putting this behind me and focusing on my o.w.ls, and throwing umbridge off a cliff."
james walked in at that moment and admonished him lightly, "c'mon harry, y'know your mum doesn't like you talking about teachers like that. even sniv- snape."
you snorted, "umbridge is a troll. actually, that's harsh... to trolls."
half blood prince
you and your husband were curled into balls on the sofa, laughing until tears burned on your face.
"half- oh merlin i can't!" you wheezed, coughing.
"prince! oh my, snivellous his royal highness!" james pushed his glasses aside as they grew misty from the condensation of his crying.
you gasped, "he called himself that. seriously."
harry mumbled, "actually, he still does."
and the laughter started all over again.
"also, i kissed ginny."
you bolted up, almost knocking heads with james, chanting at the same time, "knew it!"
deathly hallows
the battlefield was rough and shredded and covered in debris. many had been lost. other's changed for life by injuries. all traumatized by the destruction.
your son trembled in your arms for the first time in a year, exhausted and drained. for the most awful, wrenching, angry feeling in your life, you thought you'd lost him. dry screams had brought you to your knees. but he was here now. it was over.
"you're alright harry, you did so good, i'm so proud of you." you fought back your sob as your husband joined you sitting on the stairs.
families were embracing and mourning across the space, and in this moment, you had never appreciated your family so much.
you deserved this life.

Hi anyone reading this!! I need help finding a James Potter x Reader fic 😭😭. It was a Little Women Au, it was so well written, I just wanted to reread it!! For a little context of the fic, it was reader as Amy, Lily as Jo and James as Laurie. It was also based on the scene when Laurie lets the cat out the bag to Jo about Amy and him getting married. If someone finds it can they please tag me, that would mean a lot 🙏🙏🤍!!

(not much imagination needed there) LOL
i could kiss you this idea is so cute thank you lovely
“Oh, my boy.” You croon to the mess tumbling into your lap. Softly, you brush some hair from his fluttering eyes. “What‘ve the evil twins done to you.”
“Evil twins!” Sirius gasps.
Remus laughs. “That’s a new one.”
You don’t look up from the sickly boy careening for your touch. “What did they feed you?”
He moans into you, muttering something you can’t pick up. He’s gone all right, ten shades of flushed and warm to the touch. It’s already a warm night, but this is no warmth that came naturally.
“We didn’t do anything.” Remus denies impishly.
“Puking pastilles again?” You eye them. “Do you know how long we sat by the toilet?”
“That was not our fault.”
“And neither were the nosebleed nougats?” You sigh. “Seriously thought his brain was coming out his nose.”
Sirius nods in agreement nose scrunching. “Not his finest moment.”
“Because of you.”
“Don’t start with me, woman.” His finger points between your eyes.
James is malleable under you, nose pressing into your thigh coyly. You see the corner of a smile as you fuss, guilty pleasure at your roaming touch. The room is hot, warm bodies passing and going as they please through the small flat. You fear he may run a fever, though that’s uncommon. James immune system is a rock, solid at anything thrown to it.
You press your hand to his forehead. “Has he had to much?”
The boys eye each other suspiciously. “Too much?”
You scoff. “To drink?”
“Depends.” Sirius shrugs
“On what!”
Their dubious behavior alarms you. These boys are up to something, or rather, were up to something, and now they’re avoiding dealing with the consequence of you.
“The substance.”
“Substance?” You sit up straight, shuffling the boy under you. He grumbles in protest.
“Potion.” Remus gives.
You frown apprehensively. “You didn’t.”
“We didn’t,” Sirius starts.
“he did.” Remus finishes.
Felix Felicis. They’d been talking about it a couple weeks ago, getting their hands on some. You protested, begged them, to forget it. It’s too dangerous, your voice of reason lowered their spirits, James you’ll be sleeping on the couch if you risk yourself like that.
“No,” You whine, fretting over the intoxicated fool. “how much?”
“Ask loverboy.”
“The whole,” James takes a deep breath mid sentence. “bottle.”
“Oh my god,” your eyes wide at the older boys standing. “he’ll be puking all night.”
“Maybe not..”
Your face drops into your hands exhausted. “Puking Pastilles all over again.”
“M’sorry.” James moans under you. “M’so sorry, lovely.”
“That was so stupid.” You scold lightly, hand coming down to flatten over his collar bones. “So, so, so, stupid!”
You're ruffled, shaken at the thought of him downing such an expensive, easily tainted, potion.
“Do you listen to everything they tell you to do?”
“No,” he starts slowly.
“Seems like it.” You bristle, pulling him up to sit. You look into his eyes seriously and he shuffles, nervous under your gaze. “Get a mind of your own.”
His fingers twitch at the hem of the dress you’d picked out tonight, squeezing it in his grip, grounding himself in reality. “Yes ma’am.”
Sirius scoffs behind you, shaking his head at Remus who looks equally perturbed at James’ extra affection. Under them, you wrap your arms around his neck surely. Besides the soft sent of sickly sweet potion, he smells of pine and cologne. You let yourself recognize his body is continuing to function as it should. Untouched, mostly, by the yellow inebriant.
“I can’t stand you, do you feel well?”
“I’m feeling better.”
You stick your face in his shoulder. “Be serious.”
“No, I don’t feel well.”
You sigh into him, pressing a kiss into his freckled skin. He won’t sleep on the couch tonight, though you aught to teach him a lesson.
“We’re going home.”
“What?” James frowns. “We only just got here.”
“D’you have another pool to jump in?”
He cringes at the memory of his fireball spree. “Kay, coming.”
You collect your coat and purse as you stand, leaving James to fend for himself behind you. “Felix Felicis isn’t a joke, one wrong tincture of thyme and you’re in St Mungo’s- James, were are your shoes?”

Santa Baby
Christmas Special
dad!James Potter x fem!reader
Summary: James wants to make his family's Christmas special.
Genre: Fluff <3
Warnings: pure happiness, implied sexual relationship
i have had this in the drafts for so long but i wanted to wait until Christmas 😩🎄
Tumblr media
James's family was never one for decorating for Christmas. Or rather, decorate in ways younger James dreamed of. He knew his parents loved him dearly, but while money could buy many things, it could never buy him the time with his parents he so desperately craved.
Often, he would spend Christmas alone with the housekeepers and although he'd pretend he didn't mind so he wouldn't disappoint his parents, or hurt his housekeepers' feelings, when he lay alone in his room he couldn't help but feel lonely.
So, considering this was James's very first Christmas with you and your one-year-old son, you knew he was overly determined to make this evening special.
You wake to a loud crash coming from the kitchen, accompanied by an even louder hiss of pain and curses, as well as a shrill scream of a baby. You sit up abruptly, fear washing over you until you hear James shout from downstairs. "Ah, shit, fuck, shhh, I got it, baby! Stay in bed, please!" Another crash is accompanied by the sound of footsteps rushing up the stairs and a small smile curls at your lips.
You don't listen to your husband as you pull yourself away from the warmth of your covers and make your way downstairs. It smells like burnt cinnamon cookies when you enter the kitchen and your eyes round. An array of pots and utensils, in various degrees of cleanliness, are scattered across the counters. Your frown deepens as you feel overwhelmed by the mess.
"Darling?" James's voice pops the bubble in your mind and you look at him. He's standing in the doorway with Henry, your son, sitting on his hip. His messy curls are messier than usual and the brown is sprinkled with white specks of flour to match the patch on his cheek. He sends you a weary smile.
"What happened?" you ask, looking at the faint tears in your son's little eyes from being woken up much too early. His small hands have found home in James's messy hair and he's smiling now, happy to be in his father's arms. When you walk over and scoop Henry into your arms, he makes a small sound of disapproval but nuzzles into you anyway. James looks a little guilty.
Holding Henry with one arm under him, you move closer to your husband and swipe your other hand over the dust of flour on James's nose. "You're a mess, honey," you say, hiding a small smile with a playfully annoyed frown.
James clasp his hands together to remove the flour and then runs a hand in his hair. "I didn't mean to wake you or Henry," he says solemnly and looks around at the mess. "I wanted to surprise you with some Christmas cookies."
You laugh. "Well, I'm certainly surprised – just with a lack of cookies," you joke.
Hearing your laughter, Henry giggles and squirms as his hands find themselves at the ends of your hair and he pulls happily. "Oww," you groan, tilting your head in the direction he's pulling so the pain will hurt less. James moves in closer and gently unclasps Henry's little fists around your hair.
"No, bud. It hurts Mummy when you do that," he coos and holds Henry's hands instead.
You pass him to James, going to fix your hair. "Thanks," you sigh.
James smiles and holds Henry, mouthing and mumbling things as he tickles his son’s sides. "Do you think I should put him back to bed? It's only 7am," James asks in a baby-voice and he follows you around the kitchen as you access the mess.
You turn to him and tickle Henry's stomach, which earns you a little squirm and giggle. "If you think Henry is going back to sleep after this, you're mistaken."
James nods and then brings Henry to his high-chair and sets him down. After a kiss on the forehead, James turns around and Henry reaches for the wand in his back pocket of his jeans. As he holds it in his hand, you leap up and take your husband's wand from your son and throw it to James.
"You have to be more careful with this, Henry could hurt himself," you reprimand as James sheepishly twirls his wand around his finger.
"I'm sorry," he says and then raises his wand and mutters as a spell that makes the clutter float around the room and clean themselves until the kitchen is sparkly clean. You walk over to him, sliding a hand up his bare arm and press a kiss to his cheek.
"Come on," You whisper with a smile and pat his arm, "Henry must be hungry, I'll get him some applesauce and you can start those cookies again, hmm?"
* * *
Once the evening rolls around, James seems to have calmed down a little. His nerves don't seem as on high-alert as he adjusts his hair in the mirror and you smile at how happy his reflection looks. You stand, adjusting the reindeer antlers on your head and wrap your arms around his shoulders. You press your nose to his back and inhale. "You smell like Christmas," you smirk, catching his eye in the reflection, "New cologne?"
James touches your hands and turns around to twirl you. Your green dress swirls and he grins at your wide smile. "Mmhmh, you look stunning," he whispers, pulling you in and kissing your cheek. You giggle.
You hear the doorbell and James's eyes light up like a child. "They're here!" he exclaims and with quick nervous movements he positions your antlers to his liking and kisses your forehead. "Go say hi and I'll wake Henry from his nap."
You laugh at his antics, calling after him as he scrambles to your son's room. "Hurry!"
When you make your way downstairs and open the door, Remus and Sirius stand in front of the others. Remus is dressed in the ugliest Christmas sweater and Sirius, who hangs on his arm, has a matching one. Equally as ugly on him and they look adorably stupid. Sirius seems ecstatic to see you as he is practically jumping up and down with excitement.
"Where is he?"
Clearly, his excitement is for someone else. You open the door a little wider. "James? Oh - he's upstairs with – "
Suddenly, Sirius brushes past you and opens his arm wide as he sees your husband and son. Henry is rubbing his eyes sleepily but he's dressed in his reindeer costume, the soft headband fit around his ears and James had drawn on a little reindeer nose with some of your cherry-blast lipstick. Sirius happily crushes them both in a hug as he exclaims, "There's my boy!"
You're not sure if he means James or Henry, but you aren't even sure Sirius knows the answer to that as he pokes Henry's little red nose and tousles James's hair, just below his own pair of Christmas antlers. The ones that match yours. "Look at you and your little deer-ling family," Sirius smirks, happy with his pun.
Remus touches your arm and, returning into the world of adults, you turn and he leans down to kiss your cheeks. "You look well, Moony," You say, searching his face for any scars you haven't seen but find none.
Remus just smiles timidly. "Sirius has been taking excellent care of me," he assures you with a smile and you can tell the smile is meant for himself instead of you. "Seems like Jamie has been doing the same?" Remus teases as he looks behind you at your husbands.
You look at them too. James and Sirius are cooing at Henry, and the latter is laughing happily as Sirius tickles under his fuzzy-sock covered feet. You grin, nodding. "Oh yeah, we've all been well. Jamie was so antsy for your arrival, he woke us up at 7am to bake cookies." you laugh.
James pipes up, "Objection your honor. Those cookies were for you and Henry, no one else," he insists and you can hear the pout in his voice.
"Well, those cookies were non-existent but we did make some other ones for everyone. I bet Henry would want to show you all inside, hmm?" You hum, watching Henry's look of excitement at the mention of cookies.
James puts Henry down on the floor, holding up his hands, and passes him to Sirius, "Here bud, why don't you and Uncle Sirius find the cookies in the kitchen, ok?"
Henry seems more than happy to have Sirius walk with him to the kitchen, and judging by Sirius's wide grin, he doesn't seem to mind spending time with Henry either. James pats Henry's head one last time before Henry and Sirius disappear towards the kitchens.
James walks over and hugs Remus hello, his arm then twisting around my waist as he stares into my side and looks at me, "Isn't my lovely wife just so pretty with her little antlers?" James flicks one and you laugh.
"She's lovely, Prongs. Your entire family is," Remus compliments.
James stands prouder and kisses your temple. Then, he looks at Remus, "Are you and Sirius thinking about kids yet?"
Remus rolls his eyes. "Ask Sirius, he's still a child himself."
You put your hand on Remus's arm comfortantly. "Give him time, Remmy. I promise he'll be ready sooner than you think and when he is, I know Henry will be over the moon to have a playmate!"
"Henry will have a playmate way sooner than when those two dimwits finally decide to have kids, my lovely," James suddenly whispers into your ear and adds with a wink, "If you know what I mean." You feel heat creep up your cheeks.
Remus doesn't catch on as he hears Sirius laugh from the living room and you lead him and James into the room, where Sirius has found the plate of cookies and Henry sits happily on his lap, munching on a cookie comically large compared to his small hand.
The living room is decorated with hollies, christmas lights, and you're burning a candle so it smells like cinnamon and vanilla. A small mistletoe hangs in the corner of the room: mostly for decoration but James has pulled you under it a few times. Which, no matter how many times you tell him that's not how a mistletoe works, he still pressed his lips to yours with a love sick smile.
"Mummy," Henry shrieks upon seeing you and the little antlers on his head slip over his eyes.
Sirius bounces him on his knee, adjusting the antlers, which makes Henry laugh but he still holds out his arms for you as the cookie in his hand falls to the floor near Sirius's shoe. Sirius looks at the mess and pouts, "Whoopsies, here ya' go Harry." You smile at the nickname and walk over, taking Henry from Sirius's knee and into your arms.
Sirius dusts crumbs from his pants as he stands next to you. He runs a thumb under Henry's lip to catch a crumb, and then Henry hides his face in the crook of your neck. His nose rubs near your collarbone and you laugh at the sensation and smooth a hand down Henry's back.
"I don't know how you do it, Y/n/n," Sirius says with a smile, his eyes trained on Henry.
You look at him, a low laugh threatening to escape your throat. "I have help," you say and look behind you as James and Remus chat near the fire.
Sirius rolls his eyes and puts his hand on your shoulder and leans in to whisper in your ear, "Help dressing up your baby like a forest animal maybe," Sirius jokes and you pretend to cover Henry's little reindeer ears that come with his antlers. Sirius chuckles at the gesture and quickly kisses your cheek before joining Remus and James.
Another hour passes as guests multiply and cookies turn into dinner, and then the low hum of Christmas music plays in the background as bowls of pudding sit on the table counter. Marlene and Lily play with Henry on the couch and people chat, only slightly buzzed from the champagne.
One of James's arms is wrapped around your waist, his other hand holding yours up as he holds you close. You giggle as he twirls you around and when you come back into his chest, he leans in head against your shoulder and you let out a breathy, "It's late, James. I should put Henry to bed."
James frowns and makes a small tuts sound as he kisses your collarbone where a lipstick stain remains from Henry's nose. "I'll put him to bed later, darlin'. Don't you worry. Just focus on having fun with our friends. Plus," James spins your bodies around so his back is to the couch. You can see Henry is grinning happily as Lily plays peek-a-boo with him. "Henry looks fine."
You hide a smile and whisper as you hold James, "His little eyes are droopy, Jamie."
James pouts and pulls you in closer. "Just a little longer? I feel like I haven't seen you all day."
"You have seen me all day," you kiss his cheek, which James gingerly turns into a full kiss as he angles your head. You laugh and wrap your arms around his shoulder as his hands slide down your sides to hold your ass.
"Not in the way I want," he whispers gruffly and you pull away and slap his chest.
"We're in public!" you hiss with a smile.
"Unfortunately."
"This party was your idea," you stare into his eyes as James's hands move to the small of your back and he grins.
"I have really stupid ideas sometimes," he admits and kisses you quickly. It's not long enough to warrant attention from your friends, but just enough to leave you craving more. Your head follows him as he leans away and he smirks. James turns to your friends and says, "Alright, where's my little reindeer?"
Gently you take your husband's arm before he can fully finish his sentence and move away from you. You pull him back and whisper in his ear, "If you get them out of here quickly, I'll let you fill my stocking once Henry is asleep," your voice is smooth and it sends a shiver up James's spine as you wink.
The blush on his cheek remains crimson when he claps his hand, getting everyone's attention. "Okay," he strides over, looking for Henry as Henry's small form is hidden behind Lily again. "Someone find me my son so he can be put to bed or I swear," he says in a mutter and you can't help but laugh.

Mafia marauders picking you up from the police station because you and lily stole the McDonald’s sign after you went clubbing
as much as they hate the police, they're on speed dial because of you.
it wouldn't be normal for them not to call once a month whenever you had a girls night that ended to far, all of you too drunk and end up do something stupid.
"on the way." remus just sighed into the phone, calling out for james and sirius, who were already waiting in the garage.
coming into the station, they could already hear the two of you giggling.
seeing the familar yellow M in the corner, sirius just looked over at the office who nodded, confirming his thoughts.
"jamie!" you smiled, running into the arms of your husband, james catching you easily, while giving lily a smile.
"really?" sirius looked at the two of you, remus already occupied getting the two of you out, "a mcdonald's sign, how did you even get it down."
the two of you just looked at each other before laughing. the three men just sighed, standing behind the two of you as the two of you had your arms wrapped around each other, stumbling out of the station.

3rd Person POV
She quickly brushed her fingers through her curls for the last time and looked at her reflection in the mirror in a quick glance. She could see a perfectly dolled-up woman with thousands of hopes and desires in her eyes. She smiled to herself and sprayed his favourite french perfume all over her.
She rushed down the stairs into the living room and glanced at the clock. It was almost midnight. It wasn't uncommon for James to come home this late but she was kind of hoping he'd come early tonight.
Today was their Anniversary and she knew he didn't forget because he himself wished her this morning. She couldn't help but feel the butterflies in her stomach when she remembered his words this morning.
It was like any other day, she woke up to an empty bed which she made with so much perfection, not a single wrinkle was to be seen. James usually returned home late and slept in the guest room, so as to not disturb her. She was going through her daily routine of freshening up and then preparing breakfast for her and James in the kitchen, when she heard footsteps approaching her. Thinking he was just there to grab a glass of water like every morning she didn't pay much attention to him but something unusual happened in a very usual morning. James grabbed his glass of water but instead of heading back out he turned to his left and kissed her temples.
"Happy Anniversary, Love." He said in his husky, morning voice."
"You too, Jamie." She replied, barely able to keep of that girlish smile off her face.
He just smiled at her and went on with his routine, unaware of the beautiful storm brewing in her heart.
His one little jesture made her clean the entire house, change every curtain, every bedsheet, every pillow cover. She even cut a bunch of flowers from the backyard and put them in each room. She went on to have a full spa treatment and get all embossed for her Jaime.
He was so sweetly unaware of the effect he had on her, how his little jestures would put a smile on her just like the one playing on her lips right now.
She was staring at her manicured nails when the sparkling diamond embedded in her engagement ring. Her smile widened thinking about the day he proposed.
It was a crisp Autumn evening and James had invited her to meet him at a park near River Thames. She had dressed up as good as possible and with a rosy glow on her cheeks due to the cold breeze, she got the location a few minutes earlier. When James arrived a few minutes late, the sun was already setting, reflecting a beautiful scarlet hue on the river. If an artist were to paint the scenery, he would've gotten confused as to which was a brighter shade of red, the sunset or her billowy hair. In that serene environment, James bent down on one knee and got straight to the point.
"Love, I suck at speeches so I won't waste my time on confessing my eternal love for you, so without the cliched confession, will you marry me?"
She couldn't say anything. Water sparkled both in the river and her green eyes. She could do nothing but bite her lips and nod her head in a yes.
Moments later Sirius and Peter would jump out of the bushes, congratulating them.
She couldn't help but go down the memory lane. The lane that took her back to Hogwarts. She clearly remembered the day she officially met James. There wasn't a single soul in Hogwarts who didn't know that Marauders. She did too, in fact she was close friends with Remus, close enough to know about his 'little fury secret', but this closeness was limited to only Remus. His friends were mere acquaintances to her, the only contact with them being the polite smile that she gave them while acknowledging Remus.
It was one fateful day, she was sitting under a willow tree, reading a book, when Sirus practically dragged James in front her and spoke to her with a grin.
"Hello Moony's friend, I am Moony's other friend Sirius and he is Moony's other, other friend James. James here wants some new female company, will you please do the honours of being James' first girlfriend in his sixteen year long life." Sirius gave his monologue with a dramatic tone.
She had to quickly settle down the butterflies dancing in your stomach and said with a smile,
"I'd love to but only if you wouldn't tag along with us on our dates."
This made James laugh and assure her,
"Don't worry, if he does something like that, I would personally hex him."
That tone if assurance and the charming smile made the heat creep up her cheeks.
She remembered their first date, his romantic dialogues and the warm butterbeer they had shared.
She remembered their first kiss. It was out in the open, in the middle of the yard, beside the fountain, with atleast 50 students watching. She had felt a sense of pride bloom in her when he decided to show the world who she belonged to.
And how could she forget the night they lay together the first time. The nervousness, the excitement, the desire were all making her dizzy. She was visiting James' parents for the first time, it was a big step for them but she was ready. In the night, James had snuck in her room to makeout with her but things going a little too heated and James asked her the question, his hands moving all over her body.
"Wanna do it?, I can cast the protection spell."
It was a simple question but it sent shock waves throughout hey body. She did what she did almost all the time in front of him. She bit her lips and nodded her head.
If she closed her eyes she could still feel his hands on her bare body. How he took his time with her, covering her neck in hickeys, sending waves of pleasure down her spin.
She remembered the increase in her heartbeat seeing him all bare in front of. A sight only she could witness
"Try to keep it low and ask me to stop if it becomes too much." He had said to her gently.
He then proceeded to give her a taste of heaven, he made her wish for the time to stop, so that he continues the movements with his hips for the rest of eternity.
No drug in this world could have given her the feeling of ecstasy that the feeling of being full with James gave her.
Thinking of that night still makes her stomach tighten and her body to long for his touch.
James had always been dedicated to his work, which resulted in him coming home late and finding her asleep in their bedroom. Their intercourse had become rare, only doing the deed on special occasions. Today was such an occasion, they had been married for two years.
Too lost in her thoughts, the lonesome queen didn'tnotice that James had already entered their house. It was only when James stumbled upon the coat rack that she noticed his presence. She quickly rushed towards the doorway to support James. When she got near him she could easily smell the Fire Whiskey coming from him. She could've sworn she heard something crack inside of her.
She quickly helped him up the stairs in their bedroom. She lay him on the bed and removed his shoes. She moved towards his face to take off his glasses when he took hold of her hand and pulled her on the other side of the bed.
He started scattering kisses on her neck and taking of her clothes. He took off her expensive pashmina shawl and threw it at the ground like it costed noting. He wasted no time and practically ripped out the Satin dress from her body.
He took a moment to appreciate her matching lace undergarments but then went back to devouring her lips with a ferocious passion. He quickly freed himself from his clothes and again hovered over her. Usually James would hold both her hands on top of her head. To spice things up, they even tried bondage from time to time, so she had rarely touched him during coitus. But, tonight he did nothing of the sort, he used one hand to keep him hovering over her and the other buried deep inside her underpants, his lips never leaving hers.
In the heat of the moment, even if she tried to place her hands on his back but every time he would place them back on the top of her head but tonight he didn't stop her from touching him. She scratched his back with her long nails, eliciting a grown from his lips. To her his sounds of pleasure were the purest form of music. This new-found intamacy was making her crave for more.
She saw stars when James suddenly entered her, making the both of them moan at the same time. He kept rutting in her wet pussy in a feverish pace. She felt all sorts of vibrations in her body, lust for her husband fogging her eyes. She bit James' ear to fasten his pace. She covered his neck with hickeys.
The perfect rythm of James' hips drew both of them near the edge. She could feel the knot in her stomach tighten more and more after each thrust and also how his pace was faultering. She felt him twitch inside her but then something happened that destroyed every strand of pleasure in her body.
"Lily! Shit I'm close." Those were the first words James had spoken to her on their Anniversary night.
That name. That damn name. The name that had been the bane of her existence.
One moment her face that was contoured in a sensual expression, the other it was stoic like an statue. Her body became numb, jerking back and forth due to James' thrusts.
James' didn't last much longer after that and came inside of her with a string of curses and that wretched name.
"Fuck, fuck , fuck fuck! Lily! Shit!"
She could faintly hear his heavy breathing over her thudding heartbeats.
She felt the crack inside her grow every second and before she knew it, a single tear fell from the corner of her eye, something inside her shattering like glass.
She came back to her senses when James lifted his weight off her and fell limp on the other side of the bed.
She got up from the bed and cleaned herself in the bathroom. She then wore his shirt that was thrown carelessly on the ground. That's when she realised that it wasn't her heart that shattered, it was the bubble she had created when she started going out with James.
She knew it because, she couldn't just smell the Fire Whiskey and his woody perfume from his shirt, she could smell the citrusy perfume that clearly belonged to a female. Now, she could also clearly see the red lipstick stains on his collar that was smuged in an attempt to clean it.
She couldn't wear the shirt anymore, since she felt another presence beside her husband's. She quickly removed it as if it was burning her body and threw it back on the floor.
Instead she opted to wear one of her night gowns and climbed down stairs. She went down to the kitchen and started boiling water in the kettle for a cup of tea. Then she sat down on the dinning table, gulping down the dinner she made for James.
She wondered to herself, how could she be so blind. She saw those little gestures in a whole different light now.
Sirius made him ask her out when Lily refused to go out with him for a thousandth time, this time clearly stating that she wanted to focus on her career and he stood no chance whatsoever.
During their first date, they were not alone in The Three Broomsticks, just a few tables away was Lily Evans along with her friends.
When he kissed her in the open yard, Lily was one of the 50 students. She refused to believe it back then but now she was sure that James' eyes did flicker toward the bench where Lily was sitting.
The once one of the most romantic proposals In her eyes, had now become a hollow moment lacking any and all emotions on his sight.
She now remembered Remus' absence that day and the conversation that they had after that.
"Didn't James tell you he was gonna propose?" She had asked him.
"He did." Remus had replied munching on his chocolate.
"Then why weren't you there with Sirius and Peter." She had questioned back.
"That's because I don't want you to marry him."
"But why?"
"Why? You don't see why? Hon, he doesn't love you, you're a replacement for Lily. Please don't do this, he won't keep you happy." Remus had voiced his concerns.
She didn't say anything back and got up from her place.
" You'll get the card in a few days, please come, I don't have many people whom I call my friends."
But when Remus didn't show up at their wedding either, she went to his place to confront him.
"How could you do this Rem. Your two closest friends tied a knot and you didn't find the time to at least show up."
"I have told you this before and I'm going to say it again, I don't think he'll keep you happy and I couldn't come and just watch my closest friend get her life ruined by my other close friend." Remus had calmly answered her.
"What makes you think he won't keep me happy!" She had screamed at him.
"Honey....... Other women are never happy." He had hesitated a bit.
"Remus, I am married to him, how can I possibly be the other woman."
"The other woman isn't the mistress, dove, it's the woman who's the second choice and you know Lily has always been his first choice. It's a matter of time before they get together behind your back, I have seen the way they look at each other." Remus had explained.
"James would never do that to me and Lily clearly told him he wanted to focus on her career." She had reasoned.
"And now that she is an accomplished healer, she would want to focus on other aspects of her life." Remus had tried to explain the situation.
"I'll never be the other woman, I will always be better than her." She had stated.
And it was true, she was better than her. Lily was academically brilliant but she was both academically and athleticaly strong. She was the keeper for her house quidditch team. Lily didn't care about her looks but she was always dressed up in perfectly crisp uniform or in an outfit that complimented the latest fashion trend. She was better than her in every aspect and Lily knew this. She had said so herself. Lily visited her in the dressing room when she was getting ready for her wedding.
"You look beautiful." Lily had complimented.
"Thanks."
"You know I have always been jealous of you. You're perfect in all the aspects where I fail." Lily had stated, masking her jealousy in laughter.
After only a few months of their marriage, people had began warning her about the budding proximity between her husband and a certain red-head but she had chosen to ignore them and stay in her bubble. But today when her husband moaned her rival's name in her ear, her bubble had bursted and the reality had hit her hard on the face.
She put the empty plate on the sink and went back to her bedroom to find her man sprawled on the bed.
She carefully placed herself in the empty space on the bed, her back facing the man she loved. The pain of loving a man who would never love her back seemed new to her but the feeling felt oddly familiar.
Her gaze went on the wall where James had stuck countless polaroids accounting for the countless happy moments of his life but one polaroid always caught her attention.
The picture of her standing alone in a wheat field in her wedding dress. Whenever she saw this photo before today, she could see a Happy woman, hopelessly in love with her man. But now a she could see was her future.
A future where she'll cry herself to sleep e every night. A future where as the years pass she'll be alone.
All Alone.

james potter x y/n | reader is referred to as wife | wc: 587
You and James hadn't even celebrated your first anniversary yet. So, you were taken aback when, in the midst of Sirius and Remus discussing house hunting, James casually mentioned how high the housing market currently was.
"Why the hell are you browsing the housing market?" Sirius questions, his expression one of genuine bewilderment as he sits across from you on the sofa, alongside Remus, mirroring the positions of you and James.
"For Y/n and me." James says nonchalantly, and your head whips to the side in surprise. It's not that you dislike the idea of living with James, but you had never discussed it before.
"You're looking for us?" Sirius and Remus exchange an amused glance, anticipating whether you'll knock James down a peg or two. You’d always been good at that.
He leans back on the couch, turning to meet your gaze. "Yeah, babe," James responds, unfazed by your surprise, his tone as casual as if discussing the weather. "Don’t know why you’re surprised, you know you’re it for me. I got our future all planned out."
A smile creeps onto your face as a disbelieving laugh escapes you, “Do you? And what does it look like?”
Your tone shifts into teasing one, your elbow propped on the back of the couch, chin resting in your palm as you observe James with an amused expression. A surge of giddy excitement floods your stomach at the thought of him meticulously planning your future together. With your eyes locked on each other, you both seem to forget momentarily that Sirius and Remus are seated across from you.
Remus and Sirius don’t voice it but they share a knowing glance – they've never witnessed James more enamored with anyone in their lives.
“Well,” He starts a sweet smile on his face, “First off, I’m gonna gonna make you my wife.” He pauses, almost as if he's taking a moment to ensure you're comfortable with what he’s saying before continuing on.
“Gonna take you all around the world, wherever y’wanna go. Eventually we’ll settle down, find a home, depending on the housing market,” He shoots Sirius a knowing look, as if proving his knowledge, prompting Sirius to bark out a laugh and Remus to affectionately roll his eyes.
You smile at James and Remus swears he can almost see the hearts in your eyes, “What about a dog? Any kids?”
James wears the same lovesick expression as you, “We’re gonna have a dog for sure, definitely a couple of kids.”
“I can see you as a girl dad.” You murmur, voice soft and honeyed.
His tone mirrors yours, his eyes soft and a gentle smile dancing on his lips, “Yeah?”
“Yeah, but I’d be happy with boys or girls. All that matters is that they’re ours.” You offer a soft shrug, and James responds with a grin, his expression warm and genuine as he looks at you.
“M’gonna spend the rest of my life loving you.” You swear your heart genuinely stops at that moment. The way he gazes at you is filled with such genuine love, and in that instance, you vividly envision a future between the two of you, as if it's already a reality.
"Alright, as heartwarming as this is, can we get back to the conversation?" Sirius interjects, prompting a gentle nudge from Remus at his side.
"Let them enjoy their moment," Remus scolds lightly, and you laugh in response. You scoot closer to James, planting a tender kiss on his jaw before whispering how you’re going to spend the rest of your life loving him.
