"Jane, I want a wife. I want a wife, not a nursemaid to look after me. I want a wife to share my bed every night. All day if we wish. If I can't have that, I'd rather die. We're not the platonic sort, Jane."
"Then hear this, Edward. Your life is not yours to give up. It is mine. All mine. And I forbid it."

There is no happiness like that of being loved by our fellow-creatures, and feeling that your presence is an addition to their comfort.

its actually sooo criminal for charlotte bronte to write " 'He is not to them what he is to me,' I thought: 'he is not of their kind. I believe he is of mine— I am sure he is—I fell akin to him—I understand the language of his countenance and movements: though rank and wealth sever us widely, I have something in my brain and heart, in my blood and nerves, that assimilates me mentally to him. Did I say, a few days since, that I had nothing to do with him but to receive my salary at his hands? Did I forbid myself to think of him in any other light than as a paymaster? Blasphemy against nature! Every good, true, vigorous feeling I have gathers impulsively round him. I know I must conceal my sentiments: I must smother hope; I must remember that he cannot care for me. For when I say that I am of his kind, I do not mean that I have his force to influence, and his spell to attract; I mean only that I have certain tastes and feelings in common with him. I must, then, repeat continually that we are for ever sundered— and yet, while I breathe and think, I must love him.' ". for her to write all that and expect me to just go on living???

Just realized that today was the 176th birthday of Charlotte Brontë's novel Jane Eyre (1847)! Here are some of it's best quotes to celebrate:
"I need not sell my soul to buy bliss. I have an inward treasure born with me, which can keep me alive if all extraneous delights should be withheld, or offered only at a price I cannot afford to give.”
“I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.”
“Even for me life had its gleams of sunshine.”
“I remembered that the real world was wide, and that a varied field of hopes and fears, of sensations and excitments, awaited those who had the courage to go forth into it's expanse, to seek real knowledge of life amidst it's perils.”
“Crying does not indicate that you are weak. Since birth, it has always been a sign that you are alive.”

I love NEGATIVE LITERATURE. I mean I love when literature is not romanticised or it’s not about how beautiful the nature is , I love it when it is not appreciating the little things, I love it when it is being cruel and unhinged, I love it when literature is not about love stories and lovers and I love it when it is not about good people, I love it when it is not about the stars or the moon or the galaxies but it is about death and how cruel it is, I love Wuthering Heights because I love how cruel Heathcliff was and how it is not a love story but rather it is about damnation and ruin of families and several lives. I love it when in Literature people kill each other cruelly and doesn’t feel any guilt or remorse, that is the true nature of human and I want it to be true and unhinged and I want the sky to be irritated by the stars because it doesn’t alway have to be beautiful and romantic.

Jane Eyre, part II
Is mr Rochester slightly problematic? Yes. Jane? Yes, her too. Does it prevent me from enjoying the book ? No.
“’I am not an angel,’ I asserted; ‘and I will not be one till I die: I will be myself. Mr. Rochester, you must neither expect nor exact anything celestial of me–for you will not get it, any more than I shall get it of you: which I do not at all anticipate.’”
