“Ichi The Killer” by Takashi Miike. 2001.
Listen to the Universe, directed by Kei Ishikawa.
The movie is so so calming visually because everything is prim and proper. The symmetry, architecture, angles and even the way the actors are- screams elite and sophisticated to me. Like nothing can go wrong. Even their emotions were not overflowing except when they play pianos and get lost in it. It’s a cup full of tea/water filled to the brim and barely overflowing. It reminded me of the ‘Little Forest’ film series. Calming and soothing.
This was refreshing as I watched it right after I completed Sion Sono’s Tokyo Vampire Hotel xD god what even was that? I am still confused.
