Ingo Radmacher Opens up About His Struggles

The past few years have been pretty rough for everyone, and now GENERAL HOSPITAL actor Ingo Rademacher (ex-Jax) has opened up about his own personal struggles in a candid Instagram post. Sharing a photo of himself in a Plunge ice water bath, the actor confessed that the cold water therapy has helped keep him sane.

“I apologize for not having posted much in the last year and a half,” Radmacher said. “To be completely honest, for the first time in my life, I’ve been faced with some mental health struggles. That’s not something I’ve ever had to face before. I’m a lot better now but the first year was rough.

“Being ousted at the show for my political views,” he continued, “my case against ABC/Disney is now in the appeals process. Having to pack up my family from a life that we loved, questioning our move to Florida. Having to take the kids out of a great swim team. Taking them away from their incredible jujitsu family and professor in L.A.”

Rademacher also found himself missing his life in Port Charles. “On top of that, I really identified as my character on GH for decades and I could’ve been there and would’ve been there for many more decades to come,” he admitted. “This isn’t a ‘boo-hoo me’ post, it’s just honest. It’s where I’m at. Struggling with being not that motivated also comes with the added bonus of extra weight (getting fat).

“I weighed in at 222 pounds a few weeks ago and I should be around 190,” he added. “Actually 185, let’s not try to soften the blow. Yep. Hard for me to actually say that because it’s embarrassing. Especially for someone who puts a lot of emphasis on fitness. Anyway, I hope to be more vocal again soon. I’m more motivated now. Stay tuned. More to come.”

So, @pigeonwit and I have had a LOT of discussions about alternative/punk javey and I have NOT stopped thinking about the concept so I had to do a little art for it. And I’m pretty sure there’s gonna be more following on from this lmao. I’m bad with writing so I’m not gonna go into detail, but essentially Davey had always been drawn to punk/alternative culture, but was convinced that he wouldn’t suit it or fit in so he never got involved. Enter Jack Kelly, resident school punk who manages to persuade Davey that he can wear what he wants, as well as stand up for himself and what he believes in. Whatever could happen???

This AU is very far from canon so I’m a little nervous but I hope it still reflects them.

You were up in Jaspers dorm, he was sick and stuck in bed and somehow you had ended up on sick duty. Mattheo was on his bed across the room, reading his book while occasionally looking up at a coughing Jasper to tell him to shut up. Theodore and Blaise had left earlier, the two of them making their way down to the library to work on their Astronomy essay. You handed Jasper his soup and a spoon before reopening your parchment and ink to try and finish your assignment.

But despite your best efforts to concentrate, Jasper's incessant complaints about the Hogwarts house-elves' latest attempt at soup had become a constant distraction. "Please stop wasting what's left of your voice on complaints about soup you can't even taste," you teased, unable to contain your amusement any longer.

Jasper glanced up from his bowl of lukewarm broth, a sheepish grin spreading across his face as he met your gaze. "But it's terrible," he protested, his voice barely above a whisper as he leaned in closer to you. "I swear, I could make a better batch blindfolded."

You couldn't help but laugh at his dramatics, the sound echoing through the dorm room and drawing a small glare from Mattheo.

"I highly doubt that," you replied, reaching out to ruffle his hair affectionately. "But even if the soup is subpar, at least you have your amazingly cool girlfriend to keep your company."

Jasper's expression softened at your words, a fond smile playing at the corners of his lips. "True," he admitted, his voice tinged with warmth as he leaned back against the cushions. "I suppose even terrible soup is bearable when I'm with you."

You rolled your eyes playfully at his sentimentality, unable to suppress the smile that tugged at your lips. "Well, I'm glad to hear that I make up for the lack of culinary skills," you teased, nudging him gently with your elbow.

Jasper chuckled softly, the sound music to your ears as he reached for your hand, his fingers intertwining with yours in a silent gesture of affection. "You make everything better," he whispered, his gaze never leaving yours as he spoke. He leant forward to kiss you, but you leant back, a grin making its way on your face

"uh uh, I'm not tryna get sick."
