#jaune sempai au
Jaune sempai after prodding from Glynda he decides to go and visit the other two members of his team! He is shocked to find they want to welcome him with open arms
Jaune took in a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves as they started to rise again. He had been hyping himself up all day for this, but now that he was standing out of the building with "Golden palate" written above it large, golden letters and easily readable on the black background and a golden plate logo in the middle underneath the writing. Nothing too fancy, but Jaune knew how much Piken had liked that name and didn't particularly like fancy.
He looked around the street he was on, fully knowing that he was just stalling for more time to avoid the conversation ahead of him. There wasn't much to keep his attention though, given how late it was. Even though it was a Friday night, only a few individuals and couples were walking down the street. The last of the nearby stores that stayed open later than others were now starting to close down for the night themselves, so there wasn't much left for people to do for the night besides loiter about. Speaking of closing down, the Golden Palate was about to as well, so Jaune really could stall any longer.
With a gulp, he stepped forward, pulled the door open, and walked in.
Susan heard the chime of the door and fought down a sigh. Of course, when they were almost closed, another guest had to come in. She was just wiping down one of the last dirty tables with a clean towel before she was going to start the closing cleaning in the back with Piken.
They had sent most of their other staff home already a few hours ago, thinking it was about to die down but ended up getting a small pop of guests not soon after. They managed it pretty well, but it was still kind of exhausting for the both of them. Thankfully the other chefs, servers, and hosts were still able to get out at decent time so they could go home and get some well earned rest. Now it was just the two of them left to deal with the closing duties. And of course the guest that just walked in.
'Oh well, I guess one more table won't hurt. Just please don't let them be difficult.' With a quick inhale and exhale, Susan stood up straight and softly patted her stomach before turning around to greet their newest guest in her usual cheerful voice. "Hiii, welcome to the Golden Palate! How may we... h-help you..."
Susan's greeting trailed off as she saw just who their late guest was. Her old team leader Jaune Arc. The towel in her hands suddenly hung limply from one finger. Surprise overtook all her senses as she stared at Jaune. Her mind was racing, but she couldn't say anything.
Thankfully, Jaune could still manage to find his voice. "H-hey... Susan... I hope I'm not... intruding or anything."
Susan silently shook her head, her mouth hanging open a little.
Jaune seemed to lose the confidence he did have at her total silence. He rubbed his arm nervously. As he rubbed his arm, Susan noticed the familiar black and blue glove and armor on his right arm. She recognized it immediately, and she could already feel the tears start stinging at her eyes.
"D-do you think that we could talk maybe? J-just the three of us?"
Susan finally seemed to snap back to the present and spoke, "S-sure Jaune..." Following a moment of silence, the cheetah faunus turned and walked off towards the kitchen in the restaurant, calling out loudly as she got near the double-swing door. "Piken! C-can you come out here! S-someone's here to t-talk with us!"
"Sure thing! One sec!"
True to the voice's words, it was only a seconds later until the door swung open towards Susan and revealed Jaune's other former teammate, Piken Dovo. Piken was just finishing removing his apron when Susan rushed up to him. Jaune was too far away, but from the way that the man stiffened up as she talked to him, he knew Piken was just as hesitant for this meeting as he was.
Jaune didn’t have very long to think about it though as the two started walking back over towards him. Piken stopped by Jaune and took a long look at his old leader. It had been over three months since either of them had seen him, which had last been a week before they had left Beacon, leaving the Huntsman life behind them. And he wasn’t too sure what to do. But he had one thing he could do. “Hey Jaune. You... wanna take a seat at the bar? I’m going to lock up the place really quick.”
Jaune nodded. “S-sure. That sounds great, thank you.”
Jaune slowly paced over to the small bar along one wall while Piken went to the front door to start locking up. Susan herself went to the back to quick finish up a few closing things before joining Jaune at the bar, though she kept her distance. She was sitting two stools away, putting an extra empty stool between them. She was hoping the space would make things feel less awkward.
It didn’t.
They sat in silence until Piken joined them and stood on the other side of the bar. Only then did the cheetah faunus feel willing to speak. “So Jaune... What brings you by? You... haven’t stopped by before...”
Well... that was a great way to start the conversation...
Susan immedately realized what she said, and worry filled her face as she tried to back pedal. “I-I mean you haven’t.... uuuuhmmmm...”
Jaune just shook his head and spoke up to get her to stop. “It’s okay Susan. I know what you meant. But you’re right. I haven’t been around a lot recently... ” Jaune brushed aside her attempts to say something more sensitive. He looked at her and Piken. Susan settled down a little and Piken just kept looking at him silently from the other side of the bar. Jaune breathed in and out slowly. He thought back to his conversation with Professor Goodwitch yesterday morning.
She had found him passed out in the training room. Again. It was about the seventh time or so that she had, and unlike she had done all the other times she found him, she didn’t just let him go. Instead she basically forced him to open up to her, no longer letting him hide his problems from her.
And boy did he open up.
Jaune let the last two months of stress, hurt, anger, sadness, regret, loss, guilt, and overall just pain explode out of him. Not at Glynda specifically, but just raging in the room in general. After a few minutes of ranting (and crying) Glynda calmed him down and told him he couldn’t keep training himself to exhaustion as some sort of punishment or distraction. Instead, she helped talk him into coming down to Vale and confronting his friends about what happened.
So here he was. Pouring his heart out once again. This time to the two people he had yelled at three months ago. Who he had called cowardly and pathetic for running away like they were.
“And I’m sorry. For everything I said three months ago. I was so incredibly wrong and I was angry at everything then, but I shouldn’t have lashed out at you two... I just felt like you were abandoning me for what happened to Azuri. It wasn't right to think that. It was selfish of me and I shouldn't have tried to get in the way of your own lives. I am so sorry I pushed you both away. I know you're- huph?"
Jaune was cut off when Susan had suddenly stood up and hugged him. It felt weird getting a hug from her after so long without one, but he did remember her amazing hugs. He even felt her tail come around gently wrap around his waist like she used to do. After missing only a beat, Jaune hugged her back tightly. He had missed her hugs.
"You're too hard on yourself still... Glynda came in a while ago and told us what was happening to you." Susan mumbled into Jaune's shoulder. "We never once thought that you were the one to blame. We never once thought that we were hurting you so much by leaving! We were just so scared... If something that horrible could happen to someone as nice as Azuri, then how could any of us really expect to come home every time we left. It is, in no possible way, your fault Jaune! But... Oh Jaune you had us so scared! When Professor Goodwitch told us how you were acting and working yourself to exhaustion every other day, we felt terrible, but we just didn't know what to do! And with starting up the restaurant, we couldn't go up to Beacon because we were just so busy here!"
Jaune was shocked to hear this come flooding out of Susan. Someone who was usually so carefree and so full of joy to the point of infecting others with it just by talking to them. To hear that she was worrying about HIM after the way they had parted knocked Jaune for a loop.
However, he wasn't too shocked that he didn't notice another pair of arms wrapped around him from the side. Piken had come around from the other side of the bar and had wrapped his arms around the two of them, hugging them both tightly. Jaune it returned with one arm across Piken's back. "We did try calling you, but we couldn't get through no matter how much or what time we tried."
Jaune bowed his head. He knew why they couldn't reach him, and he was pretty sure they knew as well. He had blocked their numbers in his scroll in anger after their fight. He'd honestly forgotten about doing that until just now. So that made him feel even more guilty about everything he'd done to his friends.
He promised himself, right then and there, that he'd make it up to them.
For the next five minutes, the old friends kept hugging and aired the rest of their regrets, worries, and especially apologies to each other. They actually all ended up going around in circles, taking turns forgiving one another it seemed. Pretty soon the three of them realized they were just going back and forth with saying they were sorry and then the other forgiving them. And at that point they all just started laughing.
After their laughing fits died down, it was like the tension totally cleared and they started talking like they used to for about another 30 minutes. It was so nice to Jaune to be able to talk to the two of them again after so long. And to hear them hear him out and forgive him had made him feel better than he had in months.
But it was getting very late, and Piken and Susan needed to get home and to sleep soon for work tomorrow. Jaune fully understood, and he apologized for dropping by out of nowhere without warning. Yet again, he was forgiven and told that it was fine. "More than fine" in fact by a much happier Susan.
Jaune stood up from the bar stool and was about to leave when something shifted in his hoodie pocket, reminding him of something. "Oh yeah! I also have something for you guys." Jaune looked down and reached into the pocket. He struggled for a few seconds, but then finally pulled out a huge bundled stack of Lien cards.
"Here you go." Which he tossed onto the bar.
Susan and Piken's eyes had almost shot out of their head when they saw the stack land on the counter. They didn't move or say anything. They just looked back at Jaune.
Jaune, when he saw them staring, just gestured to the stack and repeated, "Here you go."
Susan yelled first. "What do you mean 'here you go'!?"
Piken was right behind her. "Jaune what the hell?!"
Despite both of their yelling though, they had moved closer to the stack and started looking at it. Piken, with very shaky hands, reached out and picked it up delicately. He almost choked when he felt the weight of it.
"I promised I was going to help you get your dream about opening up the most famous restaurant. I know I'm pretty late to the game, but that's the start of me trying to keep that promise."
The couple stood side by side and kept marveling at the stack of money before Susan managed to ask, "H-how..."
"If you're asking how I have that much, weeeeell I sort of dipped into my savings that I'd been building with my share of the side jobs we were doing. Also I called in a couple of favors around Beacon and Vale to get a little more. If you're asking how much is there... Iiiii think it was around 10,000?"
Piken's reaction to hearing that was instantaneous, which was that he fumbled the stack around in his hands out of surprise before getting a firm, iron-clad grip on it.
Susan's reaction was also instant. "We're not taking this!!!"
The volume of her scream deafened Jaune and Piken for a brief second before Jaune spoke up again. "Yes, you are."
"No we aren't! This is a ridiculous amount!"
"And I earned or was given every cent so I get to choose what to do with it. And it's going to you and your restaurant."
"Jaune we-!"
"Susan, you really think you're going to win this? Have you forgotten how our arguments used to end?"
Susan's voice petered out at that. She knew that he was always the most stubborn one on the team. It usually took all three of them to get him to concede about something. Susan's face scrunched up, making it look like she was going to yell at Jaune again, but instead she just sighed and slouched a bit. She knew it'd be a headache to argue with him and she just couldn't deal with that at the moment. She looked up at Jaune, the man she'd known for over a year at Beacon, spending everyday with him and becoming as close if not closer than family. Until that nightmare three months ago that is... And here he was, smiling at her like he always did. Like he smiled at his sisters.
Susan looked to her side at Piken. He immediately saw her look and hugged her tightly with one arm and held the stack of money tightly in his other hand. He kissed her head and nodded at her. That was all she needed to hear. "Fine Jaune. We accept it. T-thank you so much!" 'Oh great now the tears are coming back!' Jaune gave a small chuckle and flashed a thumbs up to her. "But we're going to pay you back somehow!"
"No you're not, that's my promise to help you. Not a loan."
Piken finally joined back in on the conversation. "But you're going to accept it."
"No I won't."
The couple spoke together next in a strong unified voice that came from practice over the years with Jaune. "Jaune. You will accept whatever we do to pay you back for this."
Jaune winced under their voices. 'I hate when they gang up on me like that. Two vs one isn't fair.' "Yeah okay. Fine. I'll accept it."
"Good."
"Stop talking at the same time."
Piken and Susan looked at each other, then back at Jaune with a defiant smile. "No." Jaune's annoyed groan earned a laugh out of all three of them.
"Okay guys. It was amazing catching up with you, but I think it's too late to keep chatting. I need to head back to Beacon and you both need your sleep. I'll definitely be stopping by again soon, both to chat and if you ever need any help. And we'll chat over our scrolls a lot more too now I promise. Bye guys."
Piken did a friendly salute with two fingers to Jaune. "See you then leader."
Susan nodded and waved at him. "Bye Jaune. Please message us as soon as you can!"
"You got it Sues."
Just as he was about to walk out, Jaune was stopped by Susan calling out, "Oh Jaune?"
He turned around again, his hand still on the door. "Yeah Sues?"
"Didn't the last bullhead leave for Beacon already."
...
...
Jaune quickly whipped out his scroll and turned it on, seeing the time was 12:01. The last bullhead in Vale goes to Beacon at 12:00 on the dot to make sure students get back for curfew.
Jaune's hand fell from the door as he stared at his screen. "Uuuuuuh.... I guess so."
"Need a place to stay?"
Jaune looked up at his two friends and saw them smiling smugly at him. ‘Something tells me they realized that long before they told me...' "That... would be helpful."
Piken couldn't hold it after Jaune's reluctant admittance and let out a deep laugh. "You can spend the night at our place then."
"Thanks you guys. I appreciate it."
Pike and Susan looked at him warmly, with Piken saying, "What are friends for?"
...
...
"So does this count as you paying me back and we can call it even?"
"Oooooh not even close."

Chocolate Strawberries? I’m curious....
Oooh, that’s a fun one. This one’s a classic little AU concept based around Ruby not befriending Jaune on her first day at Beacon and instead meeting someone else...
“Welcome to Beacon…” Ruby Rose mumbled to herself as she lay back on the cold, hard stone outside the academy. So much for making any new friends-
Ruby’s thoughts were interrupted as a shadow fell over her.
“Rough day, huh?”
The first thing Ruby noticed was the pair of chocolate-colored eyes peaking over a pair of sunglasses that were way better looking than those ugly aviators Yang loved for some reason.
“…Yeah…” Ruby groaned in response.
Then she noticed the hand covered in a fingerless glove extended towards her.
“Well, maybe we can do something about that,” Ruby saw a pair of lips curl into a wry, yet friendly smile, “name’s Coco.”
“…Ruby,” Ruby replied as she took the offered hand.
…Maybe her first day wasn’t a wash just yet.
So yeah, basically what if Ruby befriended Coco instead of Jaune on her first day, and by extension CFVY became the shows ‘B-team’ instead of JNPR? You know those short CFVY/RWBY flashbacks in After the Fall? That was pretty much the basis for this whole idea.
Highlights to this idea include: Coco and Ruby doing the ‘Sempai/kohai’ anime trope with Coco taking Ruby under her wing and giving her pointers, and Ruby thinking it is just awesome that she’s friends with the coolest girl at Beacon.
Weiss on the other hand is super jealous that Ruby is friends with Coco. Like she’s still doing her best to be the best partner and teammate to Ruby, but she finds herself slipping into a ‘Notice me Coco-sempai!’ mode from time to time.
Basically, it’s going to be pretty gay. Probably not to a ‘actual couple’ point, but definitely to a ‘if this were the actual show, fans would be shipping the hell out of them’
“Wait… Coco Adel? From Pharos?”
“Ah, you’ve heard of me then?” Coco broke into a wide grin.
“Uh… yeah, you could say that…” Ruby replied just a bit awkwardly. Honestly, it was hard not to have heard about the star student of Pharos Academy. Breaker of records… and the hearts of young maidens. Ruby knew for a fact that a fair few of her female classmates back at Signal would be murderously jealous if they knew Ruby was hanging out with Coco Adel right now.
Of course, there’s also more expected interactions, like Blake having a closer friendship with Velvet having a notable impact on her arc. Another idea I’ve got is that Yang pretty quickly picks up that something is up with Fox given how little he talks, and Fox has way too much fun giving her the runaround. Also, Ruby totally guesses telepathy way before Yang figures it out.

sempai jaune au) ozpin would normally take any excuse to avoid his duties (he was an immortal wizard he should get a break every hundred years or so!) but he was starting to regret agreeing to help Mr. Arc train this new technique of his. aura burst. simply put was a controlled explosion of aura used to push something typically the person themselves though it could be used to also increase blunt force from a punch. a neat idea that ozpin was keen to see. it's just getting punched by Mr.Arc while he was using this ability was too close to being hit by a living cruse-missile for his tastes.
also glynda was gonna kill him when she saw the damage they had done to the school grounds
"A-are you sure professor?"
Ozpin nodded his head. "Indeed I am Mr. Arc. I've heard quite a lot of rumors about your recent experimenting with Aura. I have to say I'm quite eager to see it for myself."
Jaune still looked unsure. He'd just been trying to meet up with his sister and her team for lunch in Vale. He had certainly not expected the headmaster to pull him aside on his way to the docks and ask him to demonstrate the new technique he’d been practicing with in secret for the last few weeks. Though he shouldn’t really be surprised... this technique wasn’t exactly subtle...
Ozpin rested both of his hands on the pommel of his cane in front of him. “I will not force you too if you don’t wish to reveal it yet Mr. Arc.”
“Well... I just don’t have the best control over it yet.”
“Not to worry Mr. Arc. Control will come with practice and time, but for now I’m sure that whatever it is, I’ll be able to deal with it. I’m not Beacon’s headmaster for nothing after all.” Ozpin chuckled at his own joke, and Jaune laughed once, feeling a bit relieved from his nervousness. “I’m glad it seems that you agree, Mr. Arc. Now then.” Ozpin’s body and weight shift a small amount. It was barely noticeable, but Jaune caught it. He was now anticipating and ready for an attack. “Shall we start?”
“What? Here?”
“Certainly, there is no time like the present is there? Not many students are around and I don’t want to take up any more of your time than needed to head to a training area. So Mr. Arc,” Ozpin raised up one hand, open palm facing Jaune, “let’s see what you got.”
Jaune swallowed, still a bit unsure about what was being asked of him. But this was the Headmaster, he probably knew what he was doing. Jaune got into a boxing stance, and steadied his breathing. He looked directly at Ozpin, then focused on the man’s palm. His target.
Jaune reached deep into himself and tapped into the light he usually visualized in his chest. How he connected with, felt, and used his Aura. He connected with that light once again, and channeled it into his hand. He pulled back that hand, balled it into a tight fist, breathed out and punched.
Ozpin felt the hairs on the back of his neck and arms stand up under his suit. He could see a faint glow appear around Jaune’s hand as he pulled his fist back, and just felt a sense of fear fill him. He then felt it grow as his fist started heading towards him. His instincts screamed at him to move, and after honing them over multiple lifetimes, Ozpin definitely learned to trust and follow them.
In the blink of an eye, Ozpin dropped his open hand down and grabbed his cane, then held it up vertically with both hands. Just in time for Jaune’s fist to connect with said cane.
And a small *Boom* was heard. Something equivalent to a distant shotgun being fired, despite it being right in front of Ozpin.
All around him, Ozpin felt wind quickly rush past him as he held his ground for all of two seconds, then promptly felt  himself slide backwards, despite digging his feet in. Then just as quickly as he’d started sliding back, he came to stop, the blast of force from Jaune’s punch ending. Now standing still, Ozpin took in what just happened and the area around him.
He looked down and saw the 5 foot long drag marks on the cement  that his feet had made. As well as the cracked and ripped up chunks of said cement that was around those marks. And all of it was nearly a perfectly straight line about three times Jaune’s own body width.
“U-uh oh...” Said man uttered out quietly as he stared behind the headmaster. Ozpin followed his gaze and felt his own eyes widen as he saw the tree that had been several feet behind him have a chunk of its bark and trunk ripped off. The wooden pieces from it now scattered across the courtyard, some pieces reaching about 30 feet away. Ozpin also couldn’t help but notice that the cement behind him was cracked as well for at least another five feet.
So a lot of property damage could be seen.
“H-headmaster... I-I’m sorry I didn’t mean to! I tried to hold back as much as I could bu-”
Still looking behind him, Ozpin held up a hand to stop the regretful man’s apology. “No no Mr. Arc. It’s quite alright. I was the one who asked you to demonstrate your new ability. The blame is certainly not on you.”
“I’ll have to agree with you on that, Headmaster.”
Both men stiffened up, despair seeping into their bodies as they heard a third voice speak up. They both turned to look at one Glynda Goodwitch. One very upset looking Glynda Goodwitch who had her arms crossed and was tapping her foot and waving her riding crop in her hand in annoyance, frustration, and exasperation.
All directed in their direction.
“P-Professor Goodwitch! I-I’m really sorry! I didn’t know that was going to happen! I’ll get right on fixing it all up!”
Glynda fixed her glasses and stared at Jaune, her gaze unblinking. “Mr. Arc, I recall overhearing the Headmaster say that this was the result of his own doing. You were just doing as you were asked. You are not in trouble. Please, go about your business for today. However, I will ask you to please refrain from doing any kind of fighting in the courtyard in the future. Understood?”
“Y-yes ma’am!” Normally, Jaune would have stayed either way to help out, even if he wasn’t responsible. It’s just the kind of guy he was. But his sister and her team were waiting for him in Vale. And he really didn’t want to deal with an angry Professor Goodwitch unless he absolutely had to.
And right now he didn’t have to. So with a quick goodbye to both the professors, Jaune turned around and continued heading to the bullhead dock, rather quick.
Glynda watched him leave for a few seconds, but then turned to Ozpin. “I don’t know what you thought was going to happen or what you hoped to achieve from having him do that Ozpin, but I do know that this mess is yours, so you can clean it up.” Glynda turned around and walked away, her heels clacking along the cement.
Ozpin sighed, thankful to not be under her harsh gaze anymore. Instead of thinking about how to fix the courtyard though, he instead held up and looked at his cane, which was still undamaged thankfully, deep in thought. ‘What would happen was indeed what I wanted to find out. Mr. Arc, you truly are an impressive mind. I’m curious to see what else you’ll learn to do.’

jaune sempai au) ruby learns that jaune's big brother instincts can be exploited for hugs. and she also learns jaune gives the best hugs. she might have most of the female (and a good portion of the male) population after her now but she's very happy with her discovery
"Jaaaaaaaaaauuuuuune!"
Jaune swallowed the food that was in his mouth and looked over from his seat in the cafeteria to where his name was being called. And the voice calling him was slowly getting closer and subsequently louder. He smiled as he saw a mass of black and red bolting towards him quickly, but not as quickly as he knew she could. The smile on her face let him know nothing was wrong, and it was good news.
Jaune returned her smile and spun around on the bench to fully face her as she reached him. "Hey Ruby, nice to see you in such a good mood today. Is there any particular reason why?"
Jaune pulled his head back in surprise as a sheet of paper was thrust in front of it. An emerald green "98%: A" in the top right corner was the first thing his eyes saw on it.
"Me and Weiss got an A on Professor Oobleck's essay that we handed in yesterday!"
"That's great to hear Ruby! But it's 'Weiss and I'."
Ruby tilted her head to the side just a tad, confusion in her innocent silver eyes. "You and Weiss what?"
Weiss's top half poked out from behind Ruby, almost out of nowhere. "Don't trouble yourself too much with that Mr. Arc. I've been trying to improve her grammar since the first week of Beacon." Weiss stepped out from behind Ruby as she finished speaking, arms crossed and an icy expression resting on her face.
Ruby turned to fully face her partner. "My grammar is fine! You're just nitpicky! But anyways, Jaune!" Ruby turned back to her upperclassman of two years. "I worked really hard on this essay, do you think I could get a reward?!"
Jaune blinked a few times. That was certainly an... unexpected request from her. 'But... I mean she did do well on her essay, and she can't really want something too insane from me right?' "Uh suuuure Ruby. Uh... what did you have in mind as a reward?"
At this, Ruby's excitement actually diminished a little as she became rather nervous. "C-can I have another hug?"
Several loud snaps were heard as several people around the trio turned their heads to face them, Weiss included as she looked at partner in shock at her request.
"Uh sure, no problem." Jaune was the only one that didn't seem affected by her request, not seeming to find it strange at all. Jaune swung his legs over to the other side of the bench and stood up. As he stood up to his full height, almost a foot taller than the younger girl, and opened his arms casually to offer a hug to her.
Ruby smiled and darted into his arms, her semblance activating and a flurry of rose petals spawned behind her as she rushed into Jaune's arms.
Jaune wasn't even moved by the red and black girl rushing into his chest like a missile, but did wrap his arms around her back, giving her the same kind of hug he'd given to his family members for years. Firm and tightly, but not squeezing her.
Ruby felt the strong arms wrap around her and immediately did the same as she felt herself start to melt into his hug. Even Yang and her Dad didn't give hugs as great as this! It was so comforting and warm! She just... loved it!
"Heeeeeee~..."
She didn't even care about the content, dreamy sigh sneaking out of her as she smiled blissfully. Bubbles and sparkles started to float around her as well.
"Uhhh Ruby? You okay?"
Ruby's eyes snapped open as she looked up to see a curious look on Jaune's face. And just like that, the sparkles vanished, the bubbles popped, and her own little heavenly moment ended.
Ruby pulled away, embarrassed at how she'd acted. Although her cheeks were for a bit more than just that. "Y-yeah! Tooootally cool! Like mega cool! ...Well bye Jaune!"
Without any more words to say, Ruby took off in her signature flurry of petals and vanished from everyone's sight. The sound of the cafeteria door shutting and the trail of petals let all the room's occupants know where she went.
Weiss sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "What. A. Dolt." With a deep inhale, she looked back to Jaune and did a slight nod to him. "I apologize Mr. Arc, but I need to go follow my partner. I need to make sure she works on her other assignments tonight. Good day."
Jaune just waved goodbye to the girl in white as she turned and walked away with her usual perfect posture. After she left, Jaune turned back around and went back to sitting at the cafeteria table again.
As he went back to eating his lunch, Jaune completely missed some of the reactions that had occurred throughout the rest of the student body in the cafeteria.
There were several faces of envy, and a few smiling at how cute the interaction was. However, there were a couple more... notable reactions though.
Yang was staring in shock at the upperclassman. How did her shy, dorky, little sister manage to get a hug from the cute, popular third year like it was nothing?!
Pyrrha was also staring at him, though more in harmless surprise than anything. She simply asked him for a hug? Could it really be that easy?
And Joan? ... Joan's reaction included gritting teeth and pushing her fork so hard into her plate that the prongs began to bend. But she totally wasn't jealous! She... just thought that he should go around hugging people to carefree like that! Yeah! Hugs like that should only be for people you're really close to! Like family members!
Ruby Rose was very unaware of the flood gates she might have just opened.

Jaune Sempai AU) Weiss was a spoiled brat for a good while at the beginning, not entirely her fault but still. She got a good reality check about leadership from Port, does the same thing happen here? Or does Jaune give chip in his few cents about leadership to the new teams?
Weiss was slowly walking through the halls of Beacon, thinking about the talk she had with Professor Port just a few minutes ago. 'Savor what I have? Be the best person I can be? I'm sure I could be an even better person if I was the leader of this team... I'd learn so much more and I could help more by giving orders rather than following them! A Schnee leads, never follows! ...But...' Weiss slowly came to a stop in the middle of a hallway intersection. With it being so late, not many students were traversing the halls so she didn't need to worry about being in anyone's way. 'Was the Professor right...? About me getting everything handed to me up until now...?'
"Ah, Weiss right?" The heiress was jarred out of her pondering by a sudden voice from next to her. She turned her head to see the blond third-year she met on her first night at Beacon. Jaune Arc, was his name she believed, was standing there with a cart in front of him holding snacks, drinks, and a projector. "It's good to see you again."
Weiss stood up straight and turned to face him fully out of respect. "O-oh Jaune, it's good to see you as well."
Jaune leaned forward, and rested his forearms on the cart's handle. "I saw how you did great during initiation. It was quite impressive that the four of you were able to take out a Nevermore of that size."
Weiss felt some pride swell in her chest at the praise from such a well known upperclassman. "Well thank you, it was a rather... interesting experience teaming up like that."
"Well, you can't force teamwork. At least, not the kind the four of you showed. That stuff has to pretty much come naturally, and it did."
"Again, thank you." Weiss' eyes landed on the cart of food and drinks in front of him. "W-what might all that be for Jaune?"
"Oh this stuff? Some friends are celebrating the new semester starting today and they invited me, so I decided to grab some snacks for us all."
"Oh! Well that sounds... rather fun."
Her distracted tone wasn't lost on Jaune. The third year leaned in a bit more towards her over the cart, getting a good look at her. And her aura. "Hey... Are you doing okay? You seem a bit... down today."
Wiess was surprised by the question. "Oh! I-is it that apparent?"
"A bit." 'Well no not really. But having so many sisters and being able to see your aura dampen helps quite a lot.' "So what's up?"
Weiss wasn't sure she should complain anymore than she already had. She'd already been given a new perspective, and a small telling off, by Professor Port. Did she really want to try it again?
Well... another point a view couldn't hurt right? "Well it's just that... I was really expecting to be made team leader. Instead, Headmaster Ozpin appointed Ruby as our team's leader. A-and Professor Port already told me to let it go and just be the best huntress I can be instead, but I just don't think she's right for it!"
"And you think you'd be a better fit as the leader?"
Jaune's straight forward tone made Weiss already regret bringing it up. "W-well no... at least not anymore. Like Professor Port said, I should focus on what I have and can work with rather than what I don't." Weiss put her hands behind her and looked off to the side a bit.
"Well he is right. You weren't made team leader, not much you can do about it now. I think the Professor was right though, what you should focus on is accepting it and moving forward. Focus on improving yourself for now and working to improve your team as a member, not a leader. You and all of your teammates are on the same team. You all add to it. One person can't suddenly contribute more help or more valuable.... uuuhhh... help than the other members just because they were made the 'leader', ya know?
"Yes... I suppose that is true... But all my life I've been taught to take initiative. By my father and my sister. Neither of them were just followers, they paved their own ways."
"Your sister? You said your last name was Schnee right? Wouldn't that make your sister Winter Schnee? The Atlas Specialist?"
Weiss was caught off guard by that completely. She'd thought he'd ask about her father with her family name, not her sister. "Y-yes, she is. Do you know her?"
Jaune stood up from leaning over the cart, chuckling nervously a little bit. "Aaaaah well... I've met her in the past a few times, but I wouldn't say I really 'know' her. She's pretty strong though."
Weiss beamed happily at hearing him talk highly of her sister. "She certainly is~! I actually used to train with her occasionally and she even taught me some things she knew personally."
"Well then I'd better be careful if we were to fight haha." Jaune laughed lightly at how Weiss talked about her sister. He could almost feel Weiss's admiration for her rolling off in waves. "But you realize she needs to follow orders too right? She may be a specialist and have a high rank in the military, but she still needs to follow orders from people above her, like General Ironwood."
Weiss looked like she realized what Jaune was getting at. "I-I suppose you... aren't incorrect."
Jaune smiled and nodded a little at her understanding. "Everyone has orders and people to follow, even people with the title of 'leader'. And if not orders, then rules they need to follow. And if not rules, then some other duties or obligations. All you can really do is try and sort out which ones are the right ones for you to follow and be the best individual you can be." Jaune's warm smile dropped a bit before the next sentence. "Besides... I think you lucked out not being made the leader."
Weiss looked back over to him as she heard his voice at the last sentence lack the same tone he'd had the rest of their talk. "What do you mean by that?"
Jaune looked a bit surprised. He didn't mean to say that for her to hear. "O-oh nothing. I-it's just... I think being a leader isn't all it's cracked up to be. You have to take extra classes, work out whatever problems or kinks form in your team, be responsible for all your teammates and their actions, and honestly it won't matter a whole lot once you graduate Beacon unless you all decide to stick together and take jobs as a group. A lot more responsibility for not a lot of reward hahaha... ha ha." Jaune's awkward chuckle at the end didn't seem to ease Weiss's suspicion, so Jaune decided to finish up his point. "Just... don't think so hard on what leaders are shown or talked about as. Think about what they really are. There could still come a time where you'll need to take the lead on something. And... Ruby might appreciate your support and help."
Weiss looked really thoughtful about everything he said. Her eyes glanced down a bit in thought. "T-thank you Jaune... Both you and Port have given me quite a lot to think about..."
"Y-yeah sorry... that was a lot all at once..." Jaune rubbed the back of his head a little sheepishly. "But don't let it overwhelm you. It's your first day as a student. You have plenty of time to figure things out."
Weiss smiled softly. He was right... she'd been putting so much pressure on herself and being excellent 24/7, she forgot that she only just started. "Thank you, again. That has put my mind at ease a little."
"Glad to hear it! Now you might want to get moving. Curfew is in a little bit and trust me, you don't want Professor Goodwitch catching you out past it."
Weiss's eyes widened. She had totally forgotten how late it was! "Right! Sorry for taking up your time, but I must be going!" Weiss gave a swift nod and continued walking down the hallway she was heading towards a few minutes ago.
"No worries! I enjoyed our talk Weiss!" Jaune waved off after her until she was a good distance away, then continued on his own trip down the other one.
As the sound of the cart wheels rolling and occasionally squeaking became the only noise around him, Jaune started to let his mind drift and think about what he'd said to Weiss just a minute ago. 'Not all it's cracked up to be... yeah... what an understatement. You dodged a bullet Weiss... you just have no idea what. I hope the same bullet misses Ruby too...'
Jaune left those thoughts behind after that and just focused on making his way to Team CFVY's dorm room to meet up with everyone.

We all know Jaune Sempai brought his bunny onesie to school, but what childish thing did Joan bring?
Joan's cheeks turned a very bright red. As she stuttered trying to respond it wasn't clear if it was from embarrassment at the question, or fury at being found out.
As her stuttering died down, her head dipped down as well. With her head still lowered, she walked over to a smallish storage trunk along the wall. This trunk was what she kept many of her belongings in, and after shoving everything inside the trunk aside, she pulled out an article of clothing from the bottom with a little effort.
It was a onesie. Almost an exact match to her older brother's. Only hers was a creamy white as opposed to her brother's being light blue. Though it still had a very similar Pumpkin Pete's bunny logo on the chest.
After a few moments of silence and just standing there holding her onesie, Joan finally muttered out, "...O-our sisters and mom made a matching set..."
Even though she never really used it, and took it to not upset her family, it was still very embarrassing having people know about it.
'How is Jaune so confident about wearing his?!'

jaune sempai au) jaune agrees to teach his (in joan's words) "darling baby sister who he loves more than life" a few tricks. jaune however explains that he's only really learnt the basics and just kept working at them till he hit a new level but he still teaches her what he can, like aura sense it's basically the same ability that all huntsmen have that let them know when danger is around but pushed further. she was ready for everything to move in slow motion but for all the colors and beauty
Got a bit carried away with this. Over 3000 words haha.
""You're getting personal training from your brother!?""
Joan giggled smugly at Weiss and Ruby's joint exclamation at her. They, like many others at Beacon and other Hunter academies, would give almost anything to train with the 'White wolf' of Beacon. 'Especially his fanclub' Joan thought with a suppressed shudder. And now here she was, actually getting that exact treatment because she just asked him, how wonderful. For her at least. "Yup~. Not only that, he said he'd be teaching me some of his own personal techniques~."
While Ruby was staring in silent awe, Weiss kept staring at the taller blonde, still not grasping what she'd just been told. "B-but he's a third year! Surely he must have other responsibilities to attend to right?!"
Joan spun around, turning away from the stunned girls. "Don't know." She brushed her long golden hair back behind her shoulder and spoke again in an overdramatic regal voice, though it came off a bit snobbish. "I guess he just wants to spend time with his darling little sister who he loves more than life itself, hawhaw~." With a small laugh, she dropped the voice and spoke normally again. "I am sorry that I can't join your study session girls, but I really must be going. My brother is expecting me in the training room in half an hour. Maybe I can join you all another time."
...... ...... ...... ......
Since she declined to join Ruby and Weiss, Joan had indeed joined her older brother in Beacon's training room/gym and had started to train with him.
That was five hours ago, and Joan was very much regretting her earlier smugness.
"FfffuuuuUUUCK!"
As a shrill shriek of frustration rang throughout the large room, a dumbbell was also thrown with it. The heavy, rubber covered weight crashed into the matted floor with a loud thud, leaving a small dent like a shotput before slowly reforming back to being flat like normal.
Every occupant in the room stopped what they were doing and all looked to see what was the cause for all the commotion.
The high pitch scream came from an unbelievably frustrated blonde woman, standing in the middle of a small hand-to-hand combat ring on the matted floor. This was one Joan Arc, dressed in a slightly sweat soaked grey shirt, that hung very loosely and did little to hide or restrain her ample chest, and baggy black shorts. Her face was red from exertion and glistened from sweat, and her hair that was usually up in a neat bun or ponytail was almost completely undone.
She was easily identified as the source of all the noise because she still had her arm outstretched from throwing the dumbbell. People also soon realized that it was a 50 pound dumbbell and the fact that she managed to throw it a good 30 feet with little effort was... quiet unnerving to say the least.
As most might have guessed by now, when Joan became frustrated or annoyed enough, things tended to get ugly.
And violent apparently.
The enraged teenager lowered her arm and started to look around, finally noticing the commotion she caused. "What the hell are you all looking at! You wanna fight!? Well come at me then bitches! I'll fight you all and your teams! Fuck, I'll take on your entire families! I don't give a fuck! Especially you! Yeah I see you beady eyes! You can stare at my tits all you want, cause the only time you're ever going to get close to them is in your dreams! So take a good long look while you can asshole!"
A hand on her shoulder kept her from launching herself at the poor bystanders in the gym. "Now Joan-,"
Joan's head snapped around to glare at her brother, cutting him off. "WHAT!?"
Since Jaune had grown up with her, he'd gotten pretty used to Joan's rage fueled moments. At least somewhat. However, his sister could definitely still catch him off guard sometimes and he was smart enough to know not to gain her ire when that happened. So he slowly and wisely removed his hand from her shoulder. "You don't need to rip your classmate's heads off. Now, why don't we take a break for you to calm down a little."
"Oh that's a fan-fucking-tastic idea bro! And while we're at it, why don't I 'focus my aura' or 'concentrate' some more!? After all, it's been working wonders for me so far!" Joan turned around and stormed off away from Jaune, stomping towards the edge of the mat.
The students in the direction she was walking quickly retreated away from the oncoming demon they saw. However, they all collectively let out a sigh of relief when she stopped short and sat on a bench with a frustrated sigh, rubbing her hands up her face and into her mess of golden hair.
Jaune stared at his little sister as she sat down, almost wincing from the scowl on her face. He rubbed the back of his head and started to think.
Things had been going so well. They'd exercised and spared together just fine. Though Jaune had to admit he could see Joan was getting a little frustrated in their spars since he mainly dominated them all. Finally after a few matches, Jaune had told Joan he was going to teach her a little technique he'd started to develop on his own and had gotten quite a good hold of.
Joan was super excited for this and immediately was ready to learn. She thought it was going to be some sort of awesome sword technique or badass hand-to-hand move, but she was completely caught off guard when it was nothing like that and had to do with her aura instead.
Given that he had massive aura reserves as well as a semblance that could quickly replenish those reserves in just a few seconds, Jaune had taken to training, and experimenting, with his aura. His all but endless supply gave him the freedom and ability to do so for hours. This means Jaune had gained a better grasp on his aura and aura in general than even some professional huntsmen had.
One day during training, Jaune had discovered quite a useful trick. After having a conversation with one Fox Alistair, he tried letting his aura flow through his entire body and reaching out with it at the same time. He got the idea after Fox had told him how he 'saw' using his and other people's auras.
The result was quite incredible if you asked Jaune.
He felt complete calmness wash over him and his mind became hyper focused to all of his surroundings. Every sensation he was having at that moment was registered perfectly. His sight, hearing, smell, taste, and even feeling the air around him brush against his skin was so vivid. Jaune also realized that his senses were even sharper since he could even hear the breathing of other people on the opposite side of the large training room and smell them too. Not only that, he could also... somewhat feel people's presence around him.
On top of all of that, Jaune could see different colors filling out the shape of every person in the room with him. Jaune soon discovered that this was their aura, and he could even see them with his eyes closed. However, they were just silhouettes if he did that and he couldn't see a person's features, but the different colors remained so he could still distinguish people. He could also see just how much Aura a person had left based on how solid the silhouettes look. If they looked hazy or blurry, that person didn't have much aura left. And almost no color at all meant they had none, or at least not enough to protect them.
This ability was what Jaune was trying to teach to Joan for the last two hours, given how insanely useful it had the possibility of being.
Jaune didn't realize that it was easier said than done.
He'd helped Fox learn this more advanced way of using aura with relative ease, so he thought it would be the same with his sister. He had forgotten that Fox already had experience using his aura to 'see'.
Joan on the other hand didn't seem to be making any progress. Jaune would tell Joan to close her eyes and try to focus her aura to take in her surroundings like he had, then he would see if she could actually sense him around her. Jaune would try to lightly hit her on the shoulder or leg or something, and Joan had to either block or dodge him.
Joan quickly grew very annoyed and aggravated by Jaune being able to hit her ever single attempt. They weren't painful hits in the slightest, but even the lightest taps can become infuriating after a certain point. She even tried not doing the stupid aura sense thing at all and just tried to use her own instincts, but that didn't work at all and Jaune could tell she wasn't trying. After he landed another hit on her, Jaune would then proceed to tell her to 'calm down and focus', or something similar, which only made her angrier.
After two hours of this repeating over and over again, Joan finally exploded, as everyone saw and heard.
Jaune cracked his knuckles absentmindedly as he kept thinking, walking over to join his sister on the bench. He sat down on the other end away from Joan with a small grunt.
After a brief moment of silence between them, one that held a lot of tension due to Joan still fuming, Jaune spoke. "Well, this method isn't working."
A mumbled replied of "No shit dipweed." came from Joan, but Jaune wasn't phased by it.
"Hey you don't have to bite my head off too. I'm trying to teach you something important."
Joan turned her head away from her brother. "Yeah well, you haven't actually 'taught' me anything yet today have you?"
Jaune was silent at that remark, but did eventually say quietly, "Sorry sis." Silence returned between them as Jaune continued to think of another way to teach this to Joan.
After several minutes of the two Arcs just sitting in silence, Jaune finally thought of something. "Okay, breaks over. I'll be back in a minute." He quickly stood up and walked away from Joan a bit towards a nearby student who was using a squat machine. A certain rabbit faunus second year.
"Hey Velvet."
"Eeep!" Velvet quickly stood straight up, the machine clanging loudly as she did. She faced Jaune and tried to fight her reddening cheeks down. It was quite embarrassing for her to suddenly be in front of her crush, especially in her work out clothes. Being just a set of brown shorts and t-shirt, they weren't something you'd want to wear to impress someone. "H-hello J-Jaune. H-how are you?"
Jaune didn't seem to notice how flustered the girl was. "I'm doing pretty well. Sorry for interrupting your workout, but I was wondering, could ask a small favor of you?"
"Y-yeah of course. W-what's up?"
"Well you see, I was trying to teach Joan something and I was wondering if I could ask for your help doing so?"
Velvet was able to get her blush down and nodded. "S-sure, I'd love to, but I don't know how much help I'll be."
Jaune sent a beaming smile her way. "Awesome thanks! And don't worry you'll help us a lot."
The two made their way back over to Joan. The female Arc had moved back onto the matt and was angrily trying to fix her hair back into a bun, with little results. The two older students joined her on the mat, though Velvet looked a bit hesitant to do so, still slightly frightened by Joan's earlier outburst. However, she steeled her nerves and followed behind Jaune.
"Okay, we're going to try something different now Joan. I think I jumped too far ahead with this for you. You obviously aren't used to consciously or actively using your aura like this. I should have thought of that. You've probably only ever used it to protect you passively. So we're going to take a step or two back. Instead of having you try to sense me moving towards you, I'm going to try and help you sense just Velvet's aura while she's standing still."
"I-is this all you wanted me to do J-Jaune?"
"Yeah sorry. I know I'm taking you away from your own training, but I can make it up to you sometime if you want."
"O-oh no! It's fine. I just wasn't expecting this to be w-"
"Uuuuugh!" A loud angry sigh from Joan cut the shy girl off, making her let out a small "Mep!" in surprise. "This is so stupid! Why am I still wasting my time with this! What makes you think I can even do this stupid trick huh Jaune?! I mean I've been trying for hours and nothing has happened yet!"
Jaune turned to face his sister. He walked over and placed his hands on her shoulders, making her look at him in the eye. "Because you are an Arc. Arcs are often born with much more Aura than most people. We're also more stubborn." Jaune chuckled at that, but when neither of the girls joined in, he coughed awkwardly and continued. "Plenty of our ancestors have done things some would say were impossible. I mean, even dad took out an entire herd of Goliaths by himself when he was still in Beacon. Given those factors alone, I'd say you have a better chance of both learning this trick and being able to get quite skilled with it than any other student her." Jaune took his hands off her shoulder and moved around Joan to stand behind her, then put his hands on hers to stop her messing around with her hair. "I also believe in you, because you're my sister. You're Joan Arc, an outstanding huntress in training with incredible potential, you just need some practice to unlock it, and I'm going to help you."
Joan, even in her frustration, had to admit that hearing praise like that was very touching. Velvet also thought Jaune's little speech was very sweet and motivating. Joan tossed a quick glance behind her at him and sighed, letting him move her hands down from her hair. "Fine. I'll try again. What do I do now?"
Jaune smiled and started to fix her hair back into a bun himself with practiced ease. "Okay, Velvet please stand like ten feet away in front of Joan." Velvet swiftly did just that, standing a little ways in front of the two Arcs, her hands fiddling with one another. "Thanks Vel. Now Joan, close your eyes and just focus on finding your aura."
Before Joan did that, her eyes narrowed. "I swear if you hit me again, I'll kick you in the dick."
Jaune's hands froze for a second, then started moving her hair again. "N-noted."
Joan then took a deep breath to try to calm herself down and closed her eyes, letting darkness surround her. "Okay. What now?"
"Good. Now try to block out all of the things happening around you and just look deep inside yourself. Let your aura come to you and fall into it. Let it envelope you, and flow though your whole body."
Joan let her body relax and just focused herself. And her brother's hands diligently moving through her hair. It... was like they were back home. It was comforting. It also proved to be helping her focus.
Joan pictured herself moving though the darkness around her in search of her aura. Then she saw a faint light appear. Joan imagined herself moving towards it. The light got closer and closer until she visualized herself crashing into it.
She'd found her aura.
Joan felt a safe warmth surround her. She almost opened her eyes to check on herself but her brother's whispered voice stopped her. It was quiet, but filled with excitement. "That's it Joan, but keep your eyes closed. You've got a good grasp on your Aura. Now imagine it's a part of you, like another limb, and reach out in front of you."
Joan tried to imagine moving her arms without really moving them. Only nothing happened. She tried over and over, but didn't feel anything happen every time she did.
On one last attempt, as she imagined herself doing it, Joan actually threw her arm out towards Velvet. Suddenly, even though her eyes were closed, she saw a small white wave go out from where she was standing. Then slowly, a light brown shape formed. It slowly became more and more defined and detailed and soon Joan could clearly see Velvet's form silhouetted in front of her.
Joan stayed silent for a few seconds in aw, before exclaiming, "I can see her! I did it!" loudly.
Her brother removed his hands and let out his own excited cheer. "Yes! Haha! Wayda go sis!"
In her excitement and joy, Joan's eyes shot open. She was immediately hit with overwhelming sensations all at once. Her nose was filled with the smell of sweat and metal, her eyes involuntarily focused on a bead sweat running down a girl's forehead that was 30 feet away, she could feel the air brush along her skin, and she could hear people all over the room talking clearly. It was too nearly too much stimulation, but it was incredible!
The excited Joan jumped and turned around to face her brother.
Only to be met with a truly brilliant golden glow filling out Jaune's form. A sense of absolute safety enveloped Joan. For a brief moment, she felt as though nothing would ever harm her again, because this light would be there to protect her. That the world was totally safe for her now. But... she also felt compelled to protect it as well. Like she would fight alongside it through thick and thin, and everything would turn out okay in the end.
Caught off guard by this whole new sensation, Joan stumbled back a few steps in shock and held her head, a throbbing pain forming and breaking her concentration, causing the aura silhouettes to dissipate. Jaune quickly moved to support her upon seeing her stumble. "Are you okay sis?"
Joan lightly nodded and blinked several times, feeling her senses slowly get duller and go back to normal again. She could looked to her brother just to see the last faint golden glow fade away. And with it the pain in her head also subsided mostly. "Y-yeah... I'm good. That was just... a lot. Wow that was a lot to take in."
Seeing his sister was okay, Jaune relaxed and backed up a little from her. He smiled and said, "Yeah, it is. That's why I wanted you to have your eyes closed, to help block out the landslide of inputs. But, you did it." Jaune's smile turned a tad smug after saying that. "Told you you could."
"Yeah yeah, you were right."
"Oh wow! Are you sure you're okay? I mean, I can't remember the last time you willingly said that to me."
"Yeah yeah, ruin the moment for me some more why dontcha, vomit breath."
A small tick mark appeared on Jaune's cheek, but he let that blow slide. Instead he turned around and faced Velvet with a smile. "Thanks a ton Vel. I know this was probably an inconvenience for you, but I can make it up to you sometime. Just let me know when or how."
The poor rabbit faunus felt her cheeks ignite as dozens of ideas swarmed through her mind. Some involving cutesy dates, and others not involving clothes. "S-sure thing Jaune! I was just happy to help! I'll k-keep that in mind though! Well I better get back to my workout, I'll see you two later!" Velvet pivoted on her heel and took off back to where she'd been before Jaune asked for her help.
Jaune did a friendly wave to her as she left, still smiling.
"Hey... Jaune."
Jaune lowered his hand and once again turned to face his sister. As he looked at her, Joan's cheeks turned a light rosy pink as she lowered her head a little bit, not looking directly at him anymore. “Thanks Jaune... and... I'm sorry. For losing my temper and yelling at you. I... I really appreciate everything that you've done for me today.”
Jaune smiled slightly at his little sister. He was honestly impressed she’d managed to do it so quickly. He genuinely believed that she would be an incredibly strong Huntress someday. Jaune also knew that he would feel great joy and pride when he saw that day.
But until that day came....
Jaune patted his sister's head with his right hand and smirked. “No problem. You keep practicing with your aura like this and one day you might be able to beat me in a fight, Jojo.”
Joan’s small, sincere smile was replaced with blushing anger and embarrassment as she slapped his hand away from her head. She then started to hit his chest and arms by flailing her hands around wildly at him. All while her face got redder and redder. “H-hey! I told you not to call me that anymore you jerk!”

an au where volume 7 jaune (minus the hair) is a huntsman one year senior to team rwby and rvn (raven) jaune lost his partner in a mission gone bad, and his other two teammates retired to start a family. jaune being the guy he is still helps up ruby when he finds her in a crater and tries to help the teams out when he can, though with his semblance and leadership skills he's pretty busy helping other teams too.
Upperclassman Jaune AU! (Or Jaune Sempai AU XD)
Two things that I’d like to add is that Jaune’s younger sister (I know he’s the youngest but hey, it’s a AU peeps) takes his place on JNPR so they’re still at Beacon! The second thing is that I’m making him a third year instead of a second year like Team CFVY since I think that could be a bit more fitting.
I’m totally up for this idea!
Jaune was walking alongside the young girl he’d helped out of a crater in Beacon’s courtyard. Man Professor Goodwitch won’t be happy about that. “Sooo… aren’t you a bit young to be going to Beacon? Most people are only at combat school when they’re your age.”
Ruby blushed heavily and seemed to get even more awkward around him. “Yeeeeah I was too.... buuuuut I-I sorta stopped a robbery, and then this Huntress appeared who turned out to be a Professor here. She took me to the police station and started scolding me. Then the headmaster of Beacon walks in with a plate of cookies and asked me how I could fight so good and then he asked if I wanted to come here to Beacon
Jaune stared wide eyed at the smaller girl. Not only did she start talking a mile a minute, but she started making over dramatic hand gestures like karate chops and waving them at Beacon’s tower. He honestly didn’t even catch the last few bits of her explanation, just that it was something about a sister.
Oh crap, sister! Joan! She was arriving today too! He had completely forgotten that he was at the Bullhead docks specifically to meet her! She was gonna be so pissed...
Thankfully he still had some time to see if he could find her. “Well, here you go. All of the other attendees should be waiting right through that archway ahead.” For good measure, he pointed to it as well. “I have to go though. Good luck with initiation!” Jaune sent one last smile to the girl before speed walking back towards the docks to try and find Joan.”
“O-oh! Thanks! You too! Wait... I-I mean good luck with your...” Ruby watched as Jaune walked away, feeling really embarrassed at her failed goodbye. “... stuff.”
Ruby turned to walk through the archway to the ceremony, but stopped quickly when she thought of something. She spun around and called out to the still walking away older student. “Hey wait!” Jaune stopped in his tracks and looked back at her, clearly puzzled. “W-what’s your name!?”
Jaune realized he never actually introduced himself and got embarrassed, but answered none the less. “Jaune Arc! And yours?!”
“I-I’m Ruby Rose!”
“Well Ruby Rose, I hope you enjoy the ceremony!”
Ruby smiled and nodded. “Wait, the ceremony?.......THE CEREMONY!” Ruby turned on a dime and rocketed through the arch to attend the ceremony she totally hadn’t forgotten about. Jaune chuckled, remembering his own ceremony briefly before he started his walk again.
With any luck, Joan wouldn’t be so upset as to try and guilt trip him for the next week.

jaune sempai au) jaune teaches pyrrha a very important lesson. never get in a fight with a guy who has infinite aura because at that point there's no winner in the fight, only a survivor. still to make up for the "loss" jaune does offer to take her out for some lunch in town.
Loss... was something that Pyrrha Nikos hadn’t experienced in a long time. For years, she’d won any fight she’d participated in. Formal tournament for glory and fame or friendly spar for training, she’d always come out on top.
And now she was on her knees on the area floor of Professor Goodwitch’s classroom completely spent and panting, her aura in the red for the first time in years, and too tired to even get up past her knees.
And the reason for this was her partner’s older brother, dressed in armor  and sword drawn standing in front of her. There wasn’t a single dent in his Aura. That wasn’t because she’d been unable to hit him, she had done so dozens of times. It was because no matter how much or how fast she knocked his Aura down, he got it back up just as quickly. She’d been stunned when she saw that after ten minutes of fighting and numerous blows, Jaune Arc was still at 100% and smiling happily, just enjoying their match.
That wasn’t the only issue Pyrrha had against him. He’d also been quite a skilled fighter with just his simple sword and shield. The only blows she landed were because of her higher agility and flexibility, as well as using Milo’s rifle form. His strength had been far superior to her own, so her swordplay had simply been defensive for the most part. Then she tried going for a ring out when she noticed she couldn’t beat him with lowering his Aura, but he was almost unmovable!
Professor Goodwitch turned the lights back up and stepped into the ring. “And the victor is Jaune Arc.” The rest of the class was staring at them in shock at what they had just witnessed. The famous Invincible Girl Pyrrha Nikos hadn’t been able to do anything to faze this third year student. All she could do was get worn down and exhausted by her opponent over the course of half an hour.
Jaune sheathed his blade and collapsed his shield before walking over to her. “I have to say you have immense skill Ms. Nikos, far more than I do. However fighting me isn’t really a fair fight for most, and I realize that so I’m sorry, but I hope this can be a lesson for every student here.” Jaune looked up from Pyrrha to the stunned looks of the watching audience. “There is always going to be someone stronger than you individually, or the perfect opposite match to you. Greater strength comes in the bonds you have with those you fight with, be they your partner, your teammates, or just fellow Huntsmen. People to cover your weaknesses and have your back will always be just as important as personal strength.”
“Well said Mr. Arc, now if you would kindly leave the teaching to me.” Glynda stood with her arms crossed, a little miffed as Jaune had said almost exactly what she was going to.
Jaune chuckled awkwardly. “Hehe, sorry Professor. Did you need me for anything else today?”
“I could use another proctor to do more matches at once, but you are free to leave if you wish to.”
“Oh sure, I’ll stay and help then! No problem at all Professor. Let me just help Pyrrha to the locker rooms.” Glynda nodded and Jaune turned back to Pyrrha who was shakily trying to get to her feet. “Here let me help you.”
Pyrrha looked up to see Jaune offering his gloved hand to her. She looked past his hand and up to his face. A warm smile seemed to go perfectly with his golden hair and sapphire eyes. Pyrrha felt the world fade a bit and it was just the two of them alone together. She swallowed a little and reached out to take his hand, unaware of the heat in her face that wasn’t just from her exerting herself in their fight anymore. He was so gentle as he pulled her up to her feet and helped support her as he led her off to the locker rooms. Is this really the same man she just fought?
“Hey I’m genuinely really sorry about the whole unfair fight set up, but Professor Goodwitch asked me for my help today. Joan’s probably not gonna be too happy about me fighting her partner huh? I’ll make it up to you both though! How about I take you and your team out to lunch or something in Vale this weekend to apologize?”
Pyrrha was so lost in her own thoughts she hadn’t even noticed he was still speaking to her until he asked that last question. “O-oh! S-sure. That sounds grand.” She didn’t take her eyes off his blue ones the entire time.
“Great! I’ll set it up with Joan tonight! You okay from here?”
Pyrrha wasn’t sure what he meant until she looked around and saw they were standing outside the female locker rooms. “O-oh. Yes, I believe so.” She gently pulled away from his hold and stood on her own two feet, although still shaking a bit.
“Awesome. That was seriously a great fight back there. I’d like to spar again with you sometime in the future. Well, I’ll catch you later Ms. Nikos, I gotta head back and help Professor Goodwitch. You take care now!”
Pyrrha watched Jaune’s retreating back, her face still red and her heart still pumping. She let out a soft “T-thank you” to no one before she slipped into the locker rooms.

jaune sempai au) joan learns about the jaune arc fanclub in beacon. she was not prepared. the jackets are pretty cool though
Since @noneatnonedotcom (who sent the original ask for this AU) liked the name “Jaune Sempai AU” more, that is the official name I’m using now!
Joan stared down at the white and gold jacket in her hands, her eyes unblinking at the JAFC patch on the right side of the jacket’s chest. The signature Arc family colors.... being used for a school club’s jacket. A fanclub at that! And that fanclub was for her brother!!!
Barely a month after arriving and being enrolled in Beacon, and it was already far from what she was expecting. On the very first day when she arrived, her brother didn’t meet her at the bullhead docks until everyone else was already gone and she was left standing there all alone. He did end up showing up, but he had to rush her to the ceremony with barely any time to talk between them. Then she ended up passing Beacon’s initiation, killing an Alpha Deathstalker in the process (which she was all too giddy to tell Jaune about immediately), and then got named as the leader of Team JNPR! Jaune had met up with her after initiation and introduced himself to her team and Team RWBY, totally not embarrassing her in front of them. They all seemed to like her dorky brother, so that was nice.
If that wasn’t enough insanity, she had gotten a strange anonymous letter left in her team’s dorm room for her during her third week. It only had a few words on it.
‘We know who you are, and we are overjoyed to welcome you to Beacon Academy! If you wish to join us, bring this letter to classroom 229 on Friday after classes end and slide it under the door, then knock three times slowly. We will welcome you into our group with open arms!”
-The JAFC
Joan had actually been creeped out by the letter, but she had to admit she was also a tad curious who the heck sent something like this. So that Friday Joan was standing outside room 229 with the letter in hand. Her partner Pyrrha had asked her if she wanted her to tag along, but she declined. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t handle herself.
She was wrong.
Joan followed the instructions on the letter and finished knocking. The door opened and revealed the smiling faces of several students, a lot of whom she didn’t recognize. Though there were definitely some faces she’d seen before as she was pulled into the classroom.
Namely the second year students of Team CFVY who she’d seen in her Combat Class when Goodwitch wanted them to watch them fight to learn somethings. After she was pulled fully into the room, Joan pulled herself free from their grasps and noticed exactly where she was and who was around her.
The classroom was filled with dozens of students, from first to third years. A majority of them were girls, but there was a decent number of guys too. She wasn’t even able to ask a question before someone yelled. “The sister is here!” and she immediately got bombarded with questions by all of them.
All of them pertaining to her brother.
“What’s his middle name!?”
“Why are his eyes so dreamy?!”
“How’d he get so strong?!”
“Is he really your only brother?”
“What was it like growing up with such a sweet guy!?”
Question after question was fired off at her. She could wrap her head around one before two more were asked. Finally she had enough. “What the hell are you all talking about!?!?”
That seemed to make everyone pause for a moment, which she gladly took to get her bearings. A girl with wavy auburn hair who looked like a third year stepped up to her and asked, “Do you not know where you are?”
“Ummm not really. I was just curious about who left that weird letter for me in my dorm.”
“Oh that was Janey, the scribe of the club.” The third year pointed to a nice looking dark haired girl sitting down in the first row of the classroom that waved to her.
Joan gave a small wave back at her. “Uhhhhh okay. Aaaaaand what club would this be?”
“The JAFC of course! Was that not in the invitation?”
“N-no, it was signed that way.... but what does that mean?”
“Oh. The Jaune Arc Fan Club.’
The people in the classroom could almost hear Joan brain come screeching to a halt. Then the sound of it restarting before, ‘WHAT!?”
Apparently, the dozens of students there were fans of her brother. All having an interest in him, having some kind of story about how he helped them or how great of a guy he was. After they explained what was happening and all started sharing their stories, they started shoving club merchandise (Yes. ACTUAL merchandise of her brother Jaune) into her hands. They said she had the right to as much as she’d like since she was his sister. Cups with a picture of her brother’s face on it, flags and banners saying “We <3 JA”, and of course white and gold clothing items.
Which is how she got the very jacket in her hands now. Her mind was still reeling from all of the experience she had yesterday. They all seemed to have some type of story about her brother. She didn’t need to hear all of them, especially the ones where some of the guys were showering with him an- ‘NOPE! Not dwelling on that! Not one more thought!’ Joan shook her head to rid her mind of those thoughts and looked back at the jacket. ‘They seriously weren’t kidding around... I mean at least the jacket is pretty nice. The fabric is super soft and warm, the stitching is phenomenal, the pockets are pretty deep, I like the inside one too. The colors also fit me pretty well too, but that’s obvious why. Coco did a really nice job with these. ’
Joan thought deeply for a minute. ‘I guess it wouldn’t hurt.’ Joan slowly moved her arm into one of the sleeves, then the other. She pulled the opening closed, but didn’t zip it up. It felt..... great on her actually.
That’s when her older brother decided to knock on her dorm’s door. “Hey Joan! I was wondering-”
“KYAAA!” Which promptly got her to shriek in surprise and take off the jacket then chuck it out the nearby open window to the dorm all in the span of three seconds.
Then a voice came from outside in Beacon’s courtyard. “OW! What the hell! Who throws their trash out a wind- Woooooah! This is a JAFC Jacket! These are pretty expensive! Score!”
Joan paid little thought to the voice, instead she spun around and quickly went to open the door, her face blushing. She opened the door quickly and stared up at her brother. “W-what do you want!?”
Jaune looked at his sister’s red face curiously. “What was that scream?”
Joan would die before she told him the truth. “Y-you startled me and I stubbed my toe! Now what did you want Jaune!”
Jaune’s small smile returned. “Oh, I was just wondering if you’d want to come with me to Vale’s CCT tower to call the family, let them know how you’re doing.”
Joan took a few breaths to calm down. “Sure. Just... give me a minute to get ready.”
“Sure thing sis!”
Joan closed the door and breathed out a sigh of relief. She started gathering her things to go with her brother, not even thinking about her lost jacket.
She had three more from yesterday anyways.

Jaune senpai AU
I honestly just want to know how the main cast pretty much views Jaune. What are their opinions over this glorious man. (Staff too if you wanna do it)
Team JNPR
Joan - He’s her brother and she’ll always love him just for that, but he was also a big inspiration to her growing up. She pushed herself harder and longer, aiming to be better than him. She has sort of always held a very high opinion of her big bro Jaune, even if he is a massive dork and idiot sometimes.
Nora - She likes how crazy strong he is. She challenged him to a lifting contest... and lost. This would not stand!
Pyrrha - She relishes the challenge he can give her in a fight and thought his strong ideals and dream were delightful. Pyrrha is very thankful he doesn’t care about any fame or reputation she has, and just treats her like another one of his underclassmen. She also has quite the crush on him since her loss to him.
Ren - He respects him as an upperclassman. And someone who can out lift Nora.
Team RWBY
Ruby - He was the first person she really met at Beacon and also sort of her first friend.
Weiss - He is an ideal role model of what a Beacon student and a Huntsman in training should be.
Blake - She’s sort of indifferent for a while, but then he helps out her team with their issues and she is thankful for his views on faunus. Overall she thinks he’s a good man.
Yang - He’s a badass and is a pretty good looking one too. She appreciates him helping out Ruby on day one. She also really appreciates the fact that he can be such a gentleman.
Team CFVY
Coco - She looks up to him as a fellow leader and a strong individual, sort of like she does with Professor Goodwitch. He’s sort of her role model and she had aspirations to be like him when she first became a team leader. (You tell him that and she’ll unload every bullet she has at you!)
Fox - He never questioned Fox’s abilities as a huntsman due to his disability. Like everyone else on his team, Jaune and his old team helped him and his team train to be better huntsmen and huntresses, and for all of that he is grateful to him.
Velvet - She really admired Jaune, but also gets very nervous around him, even though he helped with her confidence. It’s safe to say she crushed on him hard in her first year. It’s mellowed out, but still very much there.
Yatsuhashi - Yatsu appreciates Jaune’s attempt to get him more comfortable with his semblance again, but to little avail. Jaune also helped him become more comfortable about his size and immense strength.
Beacon Staff
Ozpin - He is an excellent student and he fought hard to keep him at Beacon after what happened to his team. He thought it would help Jaune cope and that he could be someone for other hunters in training to look up to. Not just at Beacon, but also the other academies and combat schools. He was sort of right on both accounts.
Glynda - She is quite happy and pleased with how far he has reached in just a few years at Beacon. She does worry about him and his health though ever since she found him passed out in Beacon’s training room one day.
Port - He admires the lads persistence and strength in pushing through his hardships and the loss of his team. He loves having Jaune’s manly help in his class. (Even though it is basically just standing around and nodding along to his stories for the younger students for Jaune)
Oobleck - The young man’s comprehensive mind and his critical thinking make him one of the professor's star students. He even likes to have educational discussions with Jaune sometimes simply for the joy of it. (When Jaune can keep up with Oobleck’s longwinded and rapid pace of talking)

Jaune Senpai AU
Who want the most to be noticed by sempai? And how they try to get attention?
There are actually a few that could be top contenders, though none are overly crazy in getting his attention. More like they just hope that he’ll give them his attention when he comes around. And not everyone does it because they have a crush on him. (Though some do...)
Ruby because she feels somewhat guilty about being let into Beacon two years early, especially after seeing how strong second years were, then how Jaune was even stronger. She mainly just wants to prove to people that she does have what it takes to be there (she aims it at Jaune because he’s still a student yet he’s already so strong by himself.)
Weiss only because she wants an upperclassman, especially one that was strong enough to beat Pyrrha Nikos with seemingly little effort, to recognize and hopefully validate her skills and talent as a huntress, and not just because she’s a Schnee. So she does whatever she can to make herself and whatever she’s doing look perfect when Jaune comes around.
Joan because she wants her big brother’s approval/recognition and to earn all of his affection.
Pyrrha because she wants to show the first person to beat her in a fight in years that she was growing because of that loss. And he also never once brought up her fame or public image to her. She wanted him to see her strive to get even stronger because he reminded her of the fact that there are still people out there that are leagues above her. Also because she has a little crush on him...
Velvet because she just always looked up to Jaune and his team when she and her team were first years. He was so kind and helpful, helping her whole team train sometimes and even helped her personally become a little more confident when she was by herself. And she’s kind of had a crush on him since the day he stopped some bullies from harassing her.

Jaune senpai au: joan is being bullied in the emerald forest like jaune was by team crdl, jaune comes in to save her by beating crdl up like in the witcher 3 killing monsters trailer
Just so you know @sublimepizzakong15, I did get the first ask for this that you sent. I’ll be deleting it though since I’m going to be answering this one. I just think this version is a bit simpler to do.
Jaune was glad he had agreed to assist Professor Goodwitch on the first year’s trip to Forever Fall. For one thing, he always thought the forest was beyond beautiful, and he liked to think about his own team’s first trip here.
Another reason was he was there when four assholes tried to pick on Joan. Jaune was actually really impressed by what she saw though. Four on one and she managed to hold them off on her own for quite some time, even beating them down a bit herself. However, she wasn’t built to fight multiple people at once. Grimm, sure, but people were different. Sadly, it was only inevitable that she started losing ground. Jaune watched as Joan was pushed into a corner against the ledge by her assailants.
Luckily, Jaune was all too happy to cut in for her.
He grabbed that Lark guy’s halberd when he was about to swing it at her back and easily yanked it out of his grasp. He smashed it into the side of his head when he turned to see what happened to his weapon. He got sent rolling across the glade they were in.
It wasn’t hard to disarm Bronzewing. His swordplay was slow and easy to predict. Jaune didn’t even pull out his own weapon to engage him. Instead, he got Dove’s weapon away from him and quickly emptied all the shells out of the revolver’s cylinder, then used his own sword against him for several hits before sending him flying backwards with a palm (and a little bit of Aura with it) to his chest plate.
Now Thrush’s swordsmanship was much better, but he only had daggers. He didn’t have reach or strength with them to get past Jaune’s defense. Though Jaune was a little surprised when he threw one of his blades at him, Jaune simply caught it and threw it back at him, the handle smacking into his head with a dull thud before Jaune rushed him with a brutal clothesline, putting him down for good.
Finally it was just Winchester left. He had watched Jaune dismantle his entire team again just like he had done in combat class earlier that week. Yet he still didn’t realize he was outmatched. Instead he charged Jaune with his mace raised high and swung down to crush Jaune. Unfortunately for him, Jaune caught his mace by the shaft a few inches below the head and stopped it dead in its tracks. As Cardin was stunned still, Jaune swung a heavy Aura fueled fist into Winchester’s temple, sending him backwards into Lark who had just gotten up.
Jaune exhaled out slowly now that the fight was done. The four of them weren’t all unconscious, but they were groaning enough to let Jaune know they weren’t getting up for a few minutes. He turned around to face the only other golden blonde in the clearing. “You okay sis.”
Joan looked at her brother, her eyes wide from surprise, but she quickly got them under control. She put away her weapons and then crossed her arms in annoyance. “I’m fine. I was doing just fine on my own too.”
“I know you were.”
“I mean it! I totally had them!”
“And I mean it too. Four on one? Pretty unfair odds for you and yet you still held your ground for quite awhile. Good job sis.” Joan was a little taken aback by the sudden praise from her brother. “Any idea why these guys were teaming up on you like this?”
Joan snorted and moved to fix some of her hair that was disheveled from the fight. “My guess is they’re all still butthurt from you wiping the floor with them with them in class.”
“Ah. Grudges are a nasty thing. You need help with that?” Jaune pointed at Joan’s hair, to which she shook her head. “Okay. So how come you’re here by yourself?”
Joan’s hands froze on her head and she started to turn red. She spun to face away from him and her hands quickly kept fixing her hair. “N-none of your business dork!”
“Ooooookay. Just, be careful in the future. You should always have teammates nearby to have your back, that’s why you’re in a team in the first place.”
Joan blushed a little harder, but just nodded. She would literally die before she let Jaune figure out that she went off alone to use the bathroom...
“Well, I think we’re all good here now anyways. I’ll take care of these meatheads and get them to Professor Goodwitch, so why don’t you start hea-”
“RRRRROOOOOWR!”
Jaune was cut off as a roar ripped through Forever Fall. A roar that was very close to the clearing they were in. Joan nervously dropped back into a ready stance and drew her weapons again. Jaune was also on alert now, but he was calmer. With his hand resting on his sword handle, he turned around to face the direction the roar came from just as a large Ursa Major came charging out of the trees.
Jaune heard Joan take a sharp inhale of breath. He didn’t blame her for being nervous or afraid seeing this one Grimm. It was honestly one of the biggest Ursas Jaune had ever seen himself. Nevertheless, he kept calm. Unlike team CRDL who quickly got a second wind big enough to get themselves up and run. The Ursa didn’t pay them any mind and went for the non-fleeing prey, Jaune and Joan.
As the Ursa came ever closer, Jaune slowly started to draw Crocea Mors. The Ursa just got within 20 feet of Jaune when he lunged forward. He ducked and rolled out of the way of it’s massive bone claws to get in close towards its body. Without showing the least bit of effort on his face, Jaune bashed his shield into the beast’s chest. It pushed the Ursa back almost a good foot, but then Jaune wasted no time turning and lopping off the Grimm’s head from its neck.
The massive black and white creature fell limply to the ground and started to dissolve. Jaune slid his sword back into his shield and put that away as well with a light sigh. He turned around to look at Joan once again. She was looking at him with wide eyes, her weapons still drawn and her still in a ready stance.
Jaune smiled seeing that despite her nerves, Joan still managed to think clearly enough to be as prepared as she could be in the face of an enemy. She probably could have taken the Ursa as well actually, but Jaune moved first. “Come on sis.” Jaune’s soft voice seemed to snap Joan back to attention. “Let’s go get back to your team. Our time for the trip is almost up.”

Ozpin: Glynda, it appears the JAFC is making a new line of scarfs. I heard the jackets are well worth the money as well.
Glynda: I have no idea what you mean sir. *tries to hide her own jacket and makes a note about the scarf*
Hahaha alright then. Though you kind of made a post already with that ask.
Ozpin stared at one of the flyers for the new JAFC scarf as the colder weather was coming in. It looked nicely made. White with gold lines with black boarders near the end of the long cloth. There were also some notes under it.
‘Durable. Can survive the combat of a Hunter.’
‘Warm and great at insulating heat.’
The price of 20 Lien did seem fitting for it.
He wondered when Glynda would be ordering hers.
.....
While yes, Jaune was one of her most impressive students, Glynda simply had the Jacket and was getting the scarf because she thought they were very well made. Ms. Adel certainly was the right pick for the job.

Tell me what happened to his team and what mission went south I must know
Okay, fair warning to you readers for what’s ahead. This is the background for what happened to Jaune’s team. It’s sad. Like, so sad I actually teared up writing it and then when going over it.
But in a morbid way I guess that means I did well with it???
Anyways, don’t read if you aren’t prepared to possibly be sad by the end.
But hey! I kind of made my own OCs for this so that’s pretty of cool!
“Team Jasper’s finally back everyone!”
That excited call into Beacon’s cafeteria made a small stampede of students get up and rush out the large doors. A small crowd had already formed by the time the first year students from Team CFVY arrived. They had to be some of the farthest back from the Bullhead when the doors finally opened.
Coco, Fox, and Velvet all had a hard time trying to see over everyone in front of them. Only Yastuhashi was able to really see over the crowd thanks to his height.
Coco knew this as well. “Hey Yatsu, what can you see?! Are they really back?!”
“One moment, I can’t see them yet.”
“Come on! They’ve been gone for weeks!”
Velvet felt her ears droop a little in worry that they weren’t actually back. In all honesty, she hadn’t stopped being worried since the knowledge that the second year students of Team JASP hadn’t returned after a week from their first solo trial mission was spread around. That worry only increased in her as days continued to go by without their return. Velvet wasn’t the only worried one either. Many of the student body were afraid of what might have happened to them, even if they didn’t show it. Velvet knew one of those people was Coco.
“Ah! I see them!” Yatsuhashi’s happy announcement got sighs of relief from Velvet, a smile and a relieved huff from fox, and a beaming smile from Coco.
Coco adjusted her sunglasses and said confidently, “Sweet! See I told you softies that they were fine!”
Velvet rolled her eyes and reminded her leader of the fact that she was the one to ask around the cafeteria almost everyday if JASP had returned, which led to some strong denial from Coco. Coco’s denial only grew stronger when Fox joined Velvet’s side to tease his leader.
As their playful arguing continued, Yatsuhashi kept looking at the bullhead. He noticed something. “Wait...” That one word was quiet, but it made his teammates stop and look at him again. “Something isn’t right.”
“What? What do you mean ‘something isn’t right’? They are back aren’t they?”
Since Coco kept talking, she didn’t realize that the crowd had fallen almost completely silent. Only Velvet was able to pick up the few things that were being said throughout the crowd.
‘Oh my Oum...’
“What happened...’
‘This can’t be real...’
‘No...’
These along with quiet, shocked gasps are what Velvet was able to hear past Coco talking to Yatsu. Coco was silenced when Yatsu finally interrupted her. “Azuri is...”
He didn’t finish, but the message got through. Coco turned away from Yatsu just in time to see that the crowd had started to part. As they did, all of Team CFVY could now see for themselves why they were.
They saw Jaune Arc walking out in front. He was carrying something bundled and wrapped in a white sheet in his arms in a bridal carry. The bundle was unmistakably a person. When Jaune passed by Velvet in the crowd, who was devastated by what she was seeing, she could see just a little bit of azure blue hair inside and contrasting with the white cloth. That hair belonged to Jaune’s partner, Azuri Stygia.
Jaune’s other two teammates, Susan Free and Piken Dovo, were walking several feet behind him. Susan Free is a cheetah faunus with a tail as her trait and Piken Dovo was a dark skinned human with his black hair held back against his head with a green and brown headband. They were walking shoulder to shoulder with each other. Piken had one arm around her back with his hand resting on her waist, and his right hand was holding her left hand. It looked like he was supporting her. Susan’s cheeks were red and her eyes were bloodshot, showing she’d been crying. This shook everyone that noticed because it was a common fact that almost nothing dampened Susan’s happy free spirit. And no one had ever seen her look this....broken.
The three members of team JASP didn’t stop walking. They didn’t talk to anyone, they didn’t even look at anyone directly. They just walked past everyone.
“P-Piken?” A small voice got the man’s attention. He slowed his walk with Susan and looked to the direction of the voice. Velvet looked close to tears when Piken looked at her.  “W-what happened?”
He just looked at her with his own sad eyes. A choked whimper from Susan drew his attention away from his underclassmen briefly when he looked to the woman in his arms to make sure she didn’t break down again. When he saw she was still holding herself together, he turned back to Velvet, and subsequently the whole crowd since they were all behind them now. In a quiet voice he said, “Grimm... just.... so many grimm.” He turned back to look at Jaune, who hadn’t stopped and was now a good distance away from them. “Later.... we can talk later.” Without another word he picked his pace up with Susan to catch up to their leader, leaving the shaken crowd behind.
Team JASP was back... but there was no more joy for their return.
.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“What happened Mr. Arc.”
Ozpin’s voice was soft, caring, and understanding. However, to Jaune he might as well have screamed at him. The boy stared blankly between his knees at the floor of Professor Port’s office. He didn’t want to talk. He wanted to head back to the infirmary to be with his team...
He had dropped Azuri’s.... he had dropped Azuris body off in Beacon’s infirmary first thing. Piken and Susan went there as well. Not a minute after he arrived and headmaster Ozpin shoved the doors to the infirmary wide open and entered at a brisk pace. He asked Jaune if he was okay enough to give an explanation of their mission.
He was... he was always okay... his damn semblance made sure of that.
So he left with the headmaster, leaving Piken and Susan to be checked over and examined in the infirmary while he recounted their mission to him. They’d gone to the nearest office for privacy, which just happened to be Professor Port’s. Classes were still in session, so the jolly professor wasn’t there. They both took seats across from each other.
“Mr. Arc, Jaune.” Hearing his name got him to finally look up to the headmaster. “Please. Tell me what happened.”
It took a moment, but Jaune started the story. “We got to the village no problem. After a day there learning info from the residents, we went out to exterminate the grimm in the woods near the village. We went out for several hours and found what Grimm we could, about two dozen, and killed them. We did the same thing the next and found another two dozen more Grimm, which we then took out as well. We did it a third day and found almost another two dozen. No matter how many we took down, there still always seemed to be just about the same amount the next day. Their numbers weren’t going down. We knew something else was going on.”
“What kind of Grimm were there?”
“Beowolves, Ursas, A small swarm of Lancers one day. Nothing uncommon at least.”
Ozpin nodded along. “Okay, apologies for interrupting. Please continue.”
“We knew something else was happening in those woods, so the next day we went out and decided to follow the tracks the Grimm made after we disposed of them. They lead back to a... cave. A fissure? It was just like a hole in the ground, but with an incline down into it. Before we could even question what it was, a huge horde of grimm poured our. Practically every Grimm we’d faced up until then was coming at us all at once. We were caught off guard and scattered. We must have fought them all for over 20 minutes straight but we did it. There must have been five or six dozen after everything was said and done. Piken was barely standing, Susan had lost one of her swords somewhere, Azuri was exhausted, and all three of them barely had any Aura left.”
“And you?”
Jaune’s hand clenched into a fist. “I... I was better off. I just kept my Aura up with my semblance, but I couldn’t reach any of them to boost their aura, so they were drained. After the last grimm fell, we were still trying to catch our bearings. I finally realized I should start trying to amp all of their auras. Azuri was the closest, so I went to do her first. I just started to use my semblance on her when... a roar came from the hole.”
Ozpin leaned on his interlaced fingers. Every word Jaune said he committed to memory, and he paid every ounce of his attention to him as he continued. “A-a Beringel... it just came charging out of the hole. It rushed right towards me amplifying Azuri. I was so...so scared I didn’t move. If Azuri hadn’t tackled me out of the way, it would have crushed us. It kept charging, but now it’s target was Susan. It was on her in seconds... we just watched as she screamed and then it hit her and sent her flying into the woods out of sight. Piken screamed after her, but that just drew it’s attention to him. That’s when I noticed something different about it. I-it had a log in it hand... and it used it like some kind of club.”
Professor Ozpin’s eyes widened at this. The creatures of Grimm rarely used tools or objects as weapons. That must have meant it was somewhat old... and smart because of it. Ozpin stayed quiet while Jaune kept talking.
“It started charging Piken, but I yelled and got its attention before it reached him. I yelled at him to go take care of Susan and the Beringel roared before charging me. I left Azuri and sprinted away, just trying to keep its attention. It worked, but it also caught up to me. I tried to block with my shield, but when it hit me with that log I just got sent flying into a tree. The impact also broke my left arm instantly. I was barely able to start getting up when it started coming at me again. I... I thought I was dead. Then Azuri came rushing in, shooting away at it. It had so much armor on it the bullets just glanced off it. But it got its attention on her. It charged her and she charged it. The Beringel tried to hit her, but she rolled out of the way. She kept running and dodging, shooting it every chance she got. Then the bastard landed a blow. It swung its arm back wildly and she wasn’t expecting it, so all she could do was try to block it. She took the hit and got sent flying, but she somehow landed on her feet and just went right back into the fight. She was fighting this monster by herself and all I did was just sit there and watch because I was trying to fix my arm! My fucking broken arm! She was fighting alone all because I HAD TO TAKE CARE OF MY OUM DAMN BROKEN ARM!”
Jaune didn’t try to stop himself from yelling, and neither did Ozpin. “She was fighting with everything she had, barely any ammo, dust, or Aura left, and I just sat there on my ass! I watched as she took hit after hit, and kept getting back up every time! I-I-!”
Jaune’s voice cracked and he ran his hand up his face, where he realized that there were tears going down his cheeks. His hands went into his hair and clenched, yanking on his blond strands in anger. He took quick, deep breaths, trying to calm down. Ozpin watched his student with understanding eyes, but let him be.
Jaune got himself calmed down enough to continue, but his voice was now shaking. “I... I just watched... as t-the Beringel kn-knocked and tossed her around. I-I was a-almost done w-with my arm. Then...then it swung its club at her. A-Azuri must h-have had a plan, b-because when it did she jumped at it.... S-she was able to j-just barely t-touch it’s chest, b-b-but she s-still got hit.”
Jaune’s voice was audibly getting shakier and devastated. Jaune could feel himself openly crying now. Nothing was stopping the tears from coming again. “S-she just h-hit the ground a-a-and didn’t move... I-I screamed for her to get up, b-but she didn’t. She didn’t.”
Jaune fell silent, the only sound he made was from choking on his own breath. Ozpin watched the boy in front of him break down into silent sobbing. He knew this pain all too well, and regretted that he was going through it now.
After a minute, Ozpin thought it was safe for him to ask, “What happened to the Beringel?”
Jaune sniffed deeply and wiped his eyes on his sleeve. Some deep breaths and thinking about what indeed did happen to the Beringel helped to calm him down and get his voice back together. He’d already cried his eyes out once, he can’t do it again now. “Azuri blew it to pieces.”
“I’m sorry?”
“She used her semblance when she touched him. After she was hit, the monster’s chest puffed up and exploded. Before it even dissolved, hardly anything above it’s legs was in one piece.”
“I see. Ms. Stygia’s semblance, Direct Redirection if I recall.” Jaune nodded. “So after the Beringel was defeated, what happened.
“My arm was fixed enough to move by that time, so I rushed over to Azuri and I-I tried to heal her... but I-I couldn’t do anything.... I was too late. Piken found us and was carrying Susan with him. She was unconscious and had several broken bones. Piken and I carried both of them back to the village.” Jaune didn’t mention that the trip was filled with the two of them crying the entire way. “We got back to the village and they took us in to treat our wounds. It was four days before Susan woke up. I helped her Aura heal her bones, but I couldn’t wake her up, so we had to wait.” Jaune clenched his eyes shut when he remembered how she cried when she found out about Azuri. “A-as soon as we were able to travel, we got on the first Bullhead we could. Now we’re back.”
Ozpin sat in silence, digesting everything he just heard from Jaune. “I see. I am terribly sorry for what has happened Mr. Arc. I shall notify her family right away.”
Jaune didn’t say anything. He was tired of talking. He was tired and wanted to go be with his team.
“You may go Mr. Arc. I am so sorry you had to experience all of this even though you’re still only a student. I will check to see how Ms. Free and Mr. Dovo are doing when they are released from the infirmary.”
“Why are you sorry for me? Azuri’s the one who died.” With that, Jaune stood up and left Professor Port’s office and headed back to the infirmary.
The headmaster just watched the door close behind the boy. There was nothing he could really say to alleviate the pain that Jaune felt right now. He knew because no matter what people had told him in all his past lives, it never helped the pain of losing someone close to you. ‘Mr. Arc, I am sorry to say that it is those that go on living are usually the ones that truly suffer, not those that we lose.’
Jaune walked down the empty halls of Beacon, heading towards the infirmary. His thoughts drifted to something that he hadn’t disclosed to the Headmaster. That being Azuri’s last words to him.
He’d gotten to her and his attempts to heal her were too late, but it had helped Azuri hold on to life just a little bit longer, and she used that time to tell him the last words she’d ever speak.
Jaune had Azuri’s back laying in his lap as he poured every ounce of his Aura into her, trying to save her, to help her, to do anything. Her blue hair was spilled out over his leg and had leaves in it. In a normal situation, she’d ask him to help her fix it. But things were never going to be normal again.
Jaune felt her soft fingers brush his hair aside, out of the way of his eyes, and then rest on his cheek. “J-Jaune.... please....tell my Mom and brother I love them, and that I’m so happy to have been able to help so many people. Tell Piken he better keep making that amazing food of his. Vacuo definitely needs some decent cuisine someday. Susan...tell her never to lose her spirit, cause then she’ll always be free no matter what. And Jaune...”
Jaune stared down at the blue haired girl in his lap as his tears fell down onto her. He couldn’t even find the words to tell her that she would be okay.
That’s probably because he knew she wouldn’t be.
Azuri still had the same warmth in her eyes that they always as she looked up to him. “You’re so strong... You can be the greatest hero... in history. I know it....in my heart I know it. Stay strong... keep moving... and you’ll reach your dream.... someday.” Her fingers fell away from his cheek and her eyes started to lose focus.
Jaune grabbed her hand before it could fall any farther and hugged tightly to his chest. “Azuri please no! Please just, just-!”
“Thank you.....you all..........were such great..........................”
“Azuri?” He shook her arm. Nothing. “A-Azuri!?” He looked at her face and saw her head had fallen back, her smile was gone, and her eyes that held the kindest gaze he’d ever seen....were devoid of any emotion or life.
Jaune’s thoughts were ripped away when he bumped into the doors to the infirmary. Without a word or any emotion, he opened the door and entered to go to his team.
Two days after JASP returned to Beacon, Jaune listened to the wails of Azuri’s mother as she collapsed in the infirmary after seeing her daughter’s body and her little brother’s frantic cries as he tried to wake her up.
A week after JASP returned to Beacon, a small service was held for Azuri Stygia at Beacon, students from every year came. She’d helped so many fellow students and they all came to say their goodbyes.
Two weeks after JASP returned to Beacon, Piken told Jaune that Susan was pregnant with his kid and that they wanted to give up on being huntsmen, not wanting to go on after seeing how dark the reality of being one can be.
Three weeks after JASP returned to Beacon, Susan and Piken had packed up all of their things from JASP’s dorm and dropped out of Beacon to open a restaurant in Vale and start their family.
Three weeks and a day after JASP returned to Beacon, and Jaune Arc was the last remaining member of Team JASP.

Jaune Sempai AU: How does Jaune react when he hears some under year students talking smack about his old team?
“Oooooh that’s not such a big deal!” Jaune said that with a smile that was too sweet and a wave of his hand that didn’t seem genuine. “I mean, I’ll just have to show them why they are very, very wrong.” Jaune turned to look at Professor Goodwitch. “I’m ready now professor.”
Across the arena from Jaune was a very confident looking team CRDL. They had their weapons ready and an air of confidence wafting around them. They also said they were ready, and Professor Goodwitch yelled “Begin!”
That’s when team CRDL finally realized they had messed up. BIG TIME.
To be fair, Jaune usually wouldn’t care what others said. Even if it was about his old team. However, Team CRDL didn’t just say something like "They’re bad” or “I bet they all actually sucked.” No. What Jaune heard their leader Cardin say was “If they were so great, how come only one of them is left?” which got some stifled snickers from the rest of his team. Then promptly a minute later, their team was called down for a demonstration with Jaune.
It was the fastest team defeat in the history of Professor Goodwitch’s combat class.
