Heeeey, Darth!! Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💚
Hi Summers! What a great idea! I love this!
Here are the five favorite fics I've written, in no particular order (but maybe a bit of an order):
A Secret Uncovered Summary: When Danny's transformation is caught on tape, Danny has a whole new battle to face, including a press conference, Valerie, and, of course, school. But who is the mysterious ghost who set him up? And how much can he possibly mess up his life? Reason: This has always been my favorite of the pieces I've written. I poured so much love and work into this piece over (many) years. I'm so proud of it. I set out to tell a story of what it would be like if everyone knows (before Everybody Knows AUs became a thing and even before Reality Trip haha) and used it as a vehicle to show so many different reactions. I've had so much fun working on this. (And there may be a cross-post to AO3 very soon!)
Tortured Truth Summary: Danny's parents discover that the ghost boy is half human. Now that they've captured Danny, will he submit to torture and reveal himself, or is the revelation just the beginning of their problems? Reason: I'm starting with my old ones here! This is actually the first fic I ever shared with anyone, and it's also the first fic I've ever finished. While the torture is tame compared to today's standards, I feel like it has a great emotional payout and I enjoyed taking a micro-examination of the family unit's reactions and using Danny's illness as a way to force everyone to confront his powers.
The Red Vengeance Project Summary: With cameras strapped to their foreheads, Paulina and Star venture into the woods to bait the ghostly urban legend to appear in the hopes that Phantom will come save them. It seemed like a good plan in the light of day, but they get more than they ask for in the dark, claustrophobic, and dangerous woods. Reason: This was one of the first DP fics I'd written in a long time. It'd taken a break and just come back to the phandom to write this and another fic for Ectoberhaunt and I loved it. It brought me back to why I loved writing for this phandom in the first place. I picked this one over my actual first fic since coming back because I enjoyed writing this one more. I loved playing around with the different POV and I felt like it resulted in a really cool effect.
Micro-Unmasking Summary: Great timing prevented Danny’s secret from being revealed to Dash during their shared experience with the Fenton Crammer. But what would happen if his timing had been just a little off and Dash saw more than Danny wanted? Reason: This one's had a special place in my heart for awhile. I started it in 2009 and finally finished it in 2022! It was also just a fun topic that I enjoyed reading. I felt like I got to be a little witty in this one and I just really enjoyed writing it.
Prove That You Deserve the Answer Summary: After an argument with Jazz leaves Maddie feeling insecure about her role as a mother, she wishes she could understand her children better. She soon learns the dangers of making wishes around ghosts when she switches places with Jazz. But when this body swap allows her the opportunity to really talk with Danny, she realizes that maybe she can use this to finally see what's really going on with her son, and maybe find some way to fix their relationship in the process. Reason: I am so proud of this one. I sought out to finish a longer fic and I actually did it! I really pushed myself on this one, and I feel like it really paid off. I feel like the internal thoughts and monologues were so fun to explore and I loved writing from Maddie's POV.
And there are my five! This was a fun dive into my past works and really took some thought as to why they became some of my favorites.
Because this is a great idea, I'm gonna do some tagging! Maybe we can come up with a great list of reading recommendations from it by the end! I'm going to tag: @summerssixecho (you're not escaping your own idea lol), @underforeversgrace, @murphy-kitt, @nickelodeonstudios, and @lexosaurus

On Sam Manson’s case
Tumblr media
Sam Manson is a weird case of a character because she is a main character in Danny Phantom and yet she doesn’t have exactly what i would call a ¨proper character arc¨.
On the surface, Sam Manson is defined by her sarcasm, intelligence,  brash attitude, individualism and morality. She is someone who often likes going against what it expected in society. She criticizes society issues and has desire to change things for the better. She rarely shows any fear of speaking up, regardless of who the person is. For instance, she stood up for Danny in ¨Parental Bonding¨ when Paulina was making fun of him. She is protective of her friends and often acts as the voice of reason in the group.
Sam seems to be into supernatural things, she knew about the Fright Knight, also known as the ¨Spirit of Halloween¨ in ¨Fright Knight¨. This may come from being a goth or helping Danny with ghost hunting. This is an interesting aspect of his character that doesn’t get much exploration, which it is a pity because it has potential. So, with all these things that she has you would think the writers would came up with some interesting ideas for her character correct? Well, that comes the issue with Sam: They didn’t. Or well, they did, except its mostly defined by one thing. Her relationship and crush on Danny.
Tumblr media
Like, there is nothing wrong with having the girl in the team falling in love with main protagonist. That’s completely fine!. The problem with Sam is that most of her episodes seem to be defined by the crush she has on Danny and she doesn’t have much episodes exploring her personality outside of that.
It doesn’t help that in Season 3 she is reduced to be Danny’s girlfriend as a good chunk of the episodes are about ship teasing the relationship between the two instead of exploring their characters.
Her goal in changing society is important in like two episodes and it leads to mixed results. (Mystery Meat and One of a Kind). There isn’t a bigger arc of her coming up with some project to help Amity Park or her school. The fact that her family is rich could have shaken up some plot threads. For example: Her standing up against something her parents are doing because she finds out that it is inmoral.
Tumblr media
One episode that explores her character well its ¨Beauty Marked¨. Because of her individualism and no fear of speaking up, she inspires Dora to stand up against her abusive brother. This episode... has a few issues that have been discussed by other people in the past but i think at least it does a good job a showing Sam’s attributes having a positive impact on someone.
And yes, unironically, ¨Girls' Night Out¨ a Season 3 episode explores her relationship with Jazz and she learning to get along with her, which is weird that they did this at this point in the series and not before considering Jazz is an important character in the series and a part of the team.
The problem with ¨Beauty Marked¨ is that it doesn’t evolve Sam in a way that has an impact in the bigger narrative nor has much consequences for her later on. The same applies to ¨Girls' Night Out¨ since it is on Season 3, that has almost zero cohesive narrative.
"Parental Bonding" is sweet episode because it shows that Sam is into ¨girl things¨ but maybe avoids doing these things because she is afraid of being seen as ¨shallow¨. It could been interesting to see her trying to remain ¨unique¨ while learning to be into ¨girly things¨. Maybe Jazz could have helped her with that or even Valerie.
In contrast to Tucker, he has at least three episodes about him.  "What You Want", "Doctor's Disorders" and "King Tuck". While they don’t have much consquences of his character, they explore him quite well. "What You Want" and "King Tuck" explore his inferioty complext and desire to be admired by other people. How power can get over his head and makes not think things through. "Doctor's Disorders" is a good episode that has Tucker facing his fears of hospitals to save Danny from Spectra. As you can see, Tucker is allowed to some development outside his sidekick role. And this doesn’t count B plots from a few episodes.
To be honest, both Sam and Tucker feel like characters that the writers didn’t put much thought into them when it came to their character arcs. They are just there, sometimes helping Danny with his ghosts adventures.
Tumblr media
The closest that Sam gets to character evolution is her learning to be less possessive of Danny and that she can’t force him to like her. ("Fanning the Flames"). There were moments that Sam expressed getting jealous of Danny paying more attention to Paulina than her. What bothers me is that her not confessing her feelings to Danny wasn’t properly adressed neither? Did she expected to be rejected by him? Was she afraid that it would ruin their friendship? This was never brought to explain why it was the case.
Eventually Danny returns these feelings to Sam.  (Frightmare- Claw of the Wild). By the end of the series they become an official couple and start dating (Phantom Planet).
Like i previously mention earlier, her character arc is mainly defined by her relationship with Danny and there doesn’t seem to be much outside that aspect. All of this is rather disappointing since Sam is a character that can be explored in multiple ways.
A few ideas that come to my mind to fix this are: Explore her relationship with her parents, her coming with ideas to change society or Casper school, getting into witchcraft or showing an interest in the supernatural, making her go capturing ghosts on her own, meeting someone she cared about in their ghost form; to name some examples.
In all, Sam Manson is a character that is fun and had some potential to an interesting character but she wasn’t given the proper execution she needed to have a good arc.

First Lines
I'm not sure if this is the first line of the whole fic or the first line of the part I'm currently working on so...since I don't actually know the rules I'll just do whichever feels right for it Kay? Cool.
1) Ellie sat on a stool on the stage, a simple black dress shimmering under the light. She was supposed to sing some sad love song tonight but all she could think about was the death of Robin the Second. Looking at the crowd of Gotham Citizens she wondered if they even knew yet.
This one is still a draft but it's teenage singer Danielle in an dp×DC universe. The song that inspired the first chapter was actually a cover of the Beatles song Blackbird.
2) Sam wasn't related to her by blood, but Grandma Ida had always loved her for who she was. Sam would never truly worry about money, though she had spent most of her savings on her car and the apartment, because Grandma wouldn't let Sam go hungry or cold. A thousand dollars would be sent to Sam's bank account evey month, and had been since she was a baby.
The next chapter of Gotham's Black Rose is a bit of a struggle for me right now, it takes place after they've moved to Gotham, about them settling in and finding their footing in a new city, and Sam does some reflection on her relationship with her adopted Grandma.
3) "Father, Grandfather, Uncles," Danny greeted as he walked into the dinning room and sat down. The adults all looked at him, but Danny just smiled.
"Who let a kid in here?" - "Uncles?" - "Father?" - "Who are you?"
They all spoke at once but Danny waited for them to quiet down before he spoke up.
"Daniel Bertinelli, or Constantine if you check magical lineage, or Wayne if you ask for my mother's biological father's last name."
"I've got a kid?" The blond Constantine dropped his cigarette.
"...Helena Bertinelli is my daughter?" Bruce Wayne stared at the table as if the wood would make any of this easier.
The next part of The Fine Print where 'everyone' finds out they've had children they didn't know about.
4) Gotham was not a good city to be homeless in, Danny learned. It was cold at night, and rained at least once a week, and he never knew here he was going to sleep.
My Project R fic is not doing too well, I'm not sure why or what to do with it.
5) When Paulina imagined her Graduation from High School, she never would've pictured this for herself. She was Eighteen, turning Nineteen this summer. She thought she'd be dating Dash or Star, that she'd be taking photos and going out to dinner with either of them or maybe the cheer team would meet up.
Of course she never would've predicted Phantom. Couldn't have imagined Fenton. And you can't predict an unexpected baby. That's what makes them unexpected.
But here she was. Kneeling on the grass of the football field, blue Graduation gown the only thing protecting her JJ House designer dress from stains, and her heels starting to sink into the dirt.
"Grad-u-lates Pauli," Ellie said, carefully, with a toothy smile and her happy bright blue eyes. Her little arms went up, hands grabbing at the air. "Uppies?"
It's a Paulina/Danny raise baby Danielle in Gotham fic idk if it's going to go anywhere but I find it cute to think about.
6) Soul dreams were a safe place, at least they were usually. A neutral place where souls met to bring each other into their lives. How the soul dream took shape depended on who was asleep first, and was still asleep when the other joined them.
I hit a self doubt wall with my first soulmate fic, I wanted to analyze Jazz's sense of responsibility towards Danny and her tendency to treating him as a child even while acknowledging he's a teenager. I also wanted to analyze Dick's relationships with his own siblings once I picked him as Jazz's soulmate for this fic. I'm not sure if I should go back to my notes and try again or if I should give up on it entirely for a different soulmate fic.
7) I'm not sure if cleaning the Fenton house was a good idea anymore. Jasmine Fenton sat on the couch in front of me, her hands clasped together and a strange look on her face.
My self instert fic has hit a wall so hard I decided I am going to change it completely. I tried I struggled and I had no idea what I was doing. Here's the last I had for it as it is now though.
Okay! So there's my 7 current WIPs sorta. I haven't had the heart to actually remove anything from my list of projects even though I'm done trying to write for some of them. I did my best though! And I'm proud of what I learn every time I try something new.
I think I'm supposed to tag other people to play too so I guess I'll tag @faeriekit @im-totally-not-an-alien-2 @evandarya @spooky-fm @p0ssym1lker
Okay I'm not brave enough to tag more people in a silly game, maybe next time. I'd like to thank @weirdfishy for tagging me, sorry it took me so long to make play too! This was fun once I stopped over thinking it.

More photos of my Nicktoons Unite Highschool AU. At least the Uniforms. Still working on the school itself on Sims 4.
Also good news I finished all the SpongeBob characters, at least those who are students and their uniforms. So now we can work on the Danny Phantom characters. I already have some done.
I believe I've stated before that I got the idea from Tiny Titans. That the school is run by villains as a way to monitor our heroes and torment them with high school. Plus while the heroes are at school our villains can perform villain acts. So the heroes have to either ditch school and get in trouble. They have to find a way to stop them.
Vlad is the Principle due to his wealth and popularity. Due to all the high schools throughout the city we're destroyed by terrorists. (Not really) Our villains built the school for everyone to go to for the time being. This was all planned out by Professor Calamitous.
Rosy Cheeks: Dark Blue and Blue
She's Sandy's older sister I believe and the mother is Sandy's three nieces. Whom due to changing characters ages aren't born yet. So yeah.
Earl Cheeks: Brown and Orange
Sandy's Cousin who is a Beaver.
Tumblr media
Lincoln Jenkins: Dark Teal and Slime Green
Old Man Jenkins has a young grandson. He doesn't have a real name so I gave him one.
Gary Gulper: Dark Green and Slime Green
He's a villain in one of the SpongeBob games. Gotta include villains you know.
Tumblr media
Same Star: Purple and Orange
Patrick's older sister. Supposedly has gone missing so. More than likely show up later on in my fics.
Danny Fenton: Slime Green and White
We're finally on Danny Phantom characters. Of course we had to start with the main character Danny himself.
Tumblr media
Sam Manson: Purple and Slime Green
Sam is Danny's best friend and love interest. She went creative with her uniform. Vlad is forcing uniforms to annoy the students. So Sam is trying to fight back.
Tucker Foley: Orange and Yellow
Tucker is Danny's best friend and techo nerd. He ordered a basic uniform just to get it out of the way.
Tumblr media
Jazz Fenton: Orange and Teal
Jazz is Danny's older sister. This is her last year of high school.
Dash Baxter: Red and Blue
Dash is Danny's bully. However he's based on Flash Thompson so I have some plans for him.
Tumblr media
The last two for now at least.
Paulina Sanchez: Pink and Slime Green
The popular girl in school. She has a lot going on with her outfit. But it's cute.
Ember McLain: Black and Blue
Hear me out. She tries to gain her popularity and power by being the most popular student. Win the Prom Queen contests. So her uniform is here because at some point she has it.

Headcanons:
This version of Dani is currently 12 years old (~8 months chronologically), has been semi-recently adopted by the Fentons, is currently sharing Jazz’s room and is attending Casper Middle school as a 7th grader where she mostly has B’s, a couple of A’s, and one C. She is particularly fond of Jack.
She inherited some of Danny’s knowledge when she was cloned which has resulted in her being somewhat academically advanced in some topics but behind in others that Danny didn’t pay attention to.
Maddie and Jack were initially aware that Dani was “half ghost” but were lied to about why that was. They were told that Vlad Plasmius (the ghost, no relation to Vlad Masters) had conducted experiments on her against her will. Danny Phantom saved her and brought her to Jazz and Danny as her memories of her actual parents had been removed and he assumed the Fentons would be the best bet in helping her. They have been trying to find a way to permanently stabilize her. She has yet to tell Danny but she is considering revoking her ghost half so she can try to lead a normal life.
Vladco made a post claiming that their CEO, Vlad Masters, had made her in a lab. The Fentons are aware of this and, regretfully, so are all of her new classmates.
After reforming in D-Stabilized, the lenses in her eyes came back warped which caused her to develop astigmatism. She currently wears glasses. She generally wears boys clothes. She will eventually identify as aro-ace.
She loves The Beatles & The Talking Heads, mycology and mushroom identification, Earthbound, and Star Trek TNG.
She prefers to be called “Dani” but is okay with “Elle” in order to avoid confusion with Danny. She does not like being called "Danielle" much.
Boundaries:
Mostly any account can interact, this includes personal accounts, OCs and roleplay accounts from different fandoms. This is just for fun so no strict adherence to canon will be expected. The only exceptions are listed on my main blog’s pinned post.
I will not allow for any heavy angst/gore or romantic relationships involving Dani though. Also like, just don’t be rude I guess.
Content Warnings:
•Heavy discussion of mental/emotional health struggles (namely identity issues, self esteem, PTSD) •Religious Imagery (sometimes appears in in character poetry) •Mentions of Child Abuse (incl attempted murder) •Mentions of bullying •Mentions of homelessness •Drugs and Alcohol (only during the Future!Dani Event where a 26 year old Dani came from the future)

Oh i NEED to know more about the Floral Collab fic bruh
aha this is something we started out throwing back and forth like last september?? there was a plot, i think, but it was mostly high school shenanigans. it was before i settled in the ghost light au, so it's just a normal fic. i wrote out some forced reveal stuff for some reason, but i literally have no idea where i was going with it. i keep considering finishing it and posting it anyway
here's the little bit that i wrote!
Like everything else in his life, it had started with an accident.One would think that after saving the planet, there would’ve been a grace period. A time where ghosts stayed in the Zone and let Danny simply exist for a few beautiful, quiet, peaceful moments. Not in Danny’s life! No sir, nothing is ever that easy for him. Which is how he ended up convulsing in agony on the floor in first period English.The day had started like normal. Danny woke up, grabbed a Pop-Tart on the way out the door and flew off to school, expertly avoiding his parents. Things hadn’t been easy, per se, since Jazz had left for college, so Danny did what he was good at: he avoided the problem until it would come back around and bite him in the ass. Once he arrived at school, he met up with Tucker and Sam at their normal meet-up tree, and they walked into the building together. Dash slammed him into a locker with some vague threat Danny tuned out, Kwan slapped his books out of his hand, and Star insulted his outfit. All in all, a normal Tuesday. The first hint that something was wrong should’ve been the ungodly sneeze. His face, hidden in his locker, stared open mouthed at the neon green ooze now covering his locker. He had never sneezed out ectoplasm since his accident. Not even slightly neon normal snot! His nose continued to itch, and Sam made an offhand comment about allergies, since it was the first warm week of the new year. Danny felt it was necessary to point out that he didn’t have allergies, before or after his half-death. It would be weird to develop them now. His friends just shrugged, out of suggestions for the weird sneeze. He sighed and Tucker helped him clean up the ectoplasm coating his locker with the Fenton Thermos. They set out for first period together, Tucker and Sam starting up an old argument from yesterday. The second hint that something was wrong should’ve been the sound of Paulina bragging. It never boded well for anyone.
“Aren’t these just gorgeous?” she asked her gaggle of friends, obviously fishing for compliments. “They’re flowers for Phantom, fresh from this flower stall I passed this morning!” See, Sam pointed out with one perfectly arched eyebrow at Danny. It must be those flowers, she said with only a look. (Danny later cursed Clockwork, the Ancients, and a few extra deities that Sam was right as often as she was.) For the first time in a long time, Danny showed up to first period on time. Early, even. If Lancer’s raised eyebrows were any indicator, he was also shocked. Danny slumped into his desk near the front of the room, letting Sam and Tucker’s arguing wash over him. He was rather enjoying the relative peace and quiet of his morning. But, of course, it couldn’t last because the universe had it out for Danny, he was sure.Right as the final bell rang, Paulina swept into the room in a more-dramatic-than-usual fashion. Initially, he didn’t see what was going on because he was staring at the ceiling tiles trying to figure out what he was going to do after school if everything remained quiet. Another sneeze crawled up his nose and panic quickly followed it because he couldn’t hide an ectoplasm sneeze in the open classroom. He dove for his backpack, hoping to at least contain it somewhat, when his eyes caught on the large bouquet in Paulina’s hands. What little color he had left in his face drained out. “These are so lovely,” she giggled as she swept over to her seat. “I can’t wait to give them to Phantom!” Sam was the first one to speak, her shock wearing off faster than her friends’.
“Are you trying to kill him?” “What do you mean?” she sneered as she turned around quickly. Danny gagged as the bouquet swept in his direction, causing pollen to fall off of them and blow in his direction. But, due to his shitty luck, Paulina had essentially trapped him. She stood to his left, flowers aimed at him, blocking the only normal way out of his seat so she could glare at Sam, one hand on her hip. “Those are blood blossoms, Paulina,” Sam said with a roll of her eyes. “They’re toxic to ghosts.” “How do you know that, freak?” “Class, it’s time to get started,” Lancer called from the front of the room. “Sam,” Danny warned in a tight voice. The longer he spent next to the blood blossoms, the more likely something bad was going to happen. “What’s wrong with you, Fenturd?” Dash asked as he gave him a disgusted look. “Allergies!” Tucker piped up. “Yeah, Danny’s super allergic to pollen.” “Of a ghost toxic plant?” Star asked, scoffing. “...Yeah, because of his ectocontamination,” Tucker supplied quickly. Everyone knew that Danny had a weird amount of ectoplasm in his system somehow, because of how crazy his parents were, and so that helped explain away most of his weird shit.That wasn’t going to work today. “Guys!” he gasped, gripping the edge of his desk so hard, his knuckles were as white as his gloves. “Paulina, MOVE!” Sam said, panic rising in her voice as she looked over at her best friend. She slipped in between the desks and shoved Paulina out of the way. Danny collapsed to the floor as he tried to scramble away, now that there was an opening. He was gasping for air and trying not to gag on every inhale. Paulina shrieked at Sam touching her, flailing like it was anything more than just a light shove. The class couldn’t decide where they wanted to look: the cat fight brewing between Sam and Paulina, a long time coming, or the weird Fenton kid that was having some kind of freakout on the floor. Three things happened all at once: 1) One of the flowers came loose from the bouquet and fell towards Danny. 2) Mr Lancer cried, “Flowers for Algernon, people, what is going on?!” 3) Danny watched his half-life flash before his eyes--no, wait. That was really a flash--the end
i mean i guess i could technically just post it like that... 🤔 hm. now i'm thinking about actually posting it on ao3

Transformation/spook AU (whatever you end up calling this) anon:
(this IS getting longer each time lol. thank god there's no ask character limit anymore?) yes to basically all of that, though.
honestly the group being regarded as a threat is par for course. (like, Danny was basically a public menace for a while even when he was trying to help, and even after he got more approval people were still wary of him.)
I like that all of them get their kinda community-specific side friends though. It really is nice to see them getting and making more friends outside of their usual circle. Tucker being a werewolf means his instinct is that he needs a pack, and yes Danny and co are his pack, but naturally I think he would also gravitate toward other werewolves, and they'd be his pack too, so de definitely has two or three close packmates that help him along in his adventures in integrating into werewolf society and also punching out bad guys (honestly? let's do more crossover stuff. Teen Wolf canon characters like Isaac or something!) and just kinda sympatyhize with him. I like the idea that at least one is his cousin, and a thought just popped up that one of them would also be Wulf's descendant (I'm imagining a latino/spanish kid, because of Wulf's Esperanto), and maybe the last one would just be some random (in the case that there's an xover, like I mentioned earlier, probably Isaac or a different one-off TW character).
Sam getting the animal companion though and basically talking to animals like a disney princess... she loves the ability, hates that she's like a disney princess now lol. And a "typical mermaid princess friend" actually makes me think it's basically mermaid Paulina, and Sam is both reluctantly her friend but also eventually grateful for it because it helped her grow past her prejudices against the other A-Lister girls when she learns how to see past mermaid friend's girliness too. I imagine this friendship happened because this mermaid cottoned on to the fact that Sam would become royalty soon (early on when she was just accepted into the clan and not really part of it or a leader in it yet) and decided she was both a good leader to follow (thus becoming a loyal friend too even if she was a princessy type Sam typically didn't hang out with) so she kinda just decided to help Sam learn the ropes and pull off whatever lake-saving shenanigans Sam gets up to every week and eventually they just become close. (H2O has a theme of sisterhood so I can imagine this happens very sweetly. There's also a theme of trios so there's probably another mermaid in on these shenanigans too.) That said, there's definitely probably an "episode" where the mermaids learn the spell to become temporarily human and do so and come to school for a while and are totally awed and naive about human culture and Sam has to spend the entire time trying to corral them into order and keep suspicion off them--and stop them from getting wet or saying weird stuff that would reveal themselves or her to the whole school.
I agree with the Spike headcanon, and I saw a few fics were she was friends with one of the other Weston brothers (which one would depend on the fic), but yeah aside from having very few human friends, Jazz probably also has the smallest other-friend-group because of her feared-and-disliked status. I can maybe see her showing compassion to a brownie or something and them becoming another sidekick-type friend, but yeah I don't think the other fae get close enough to her to befriend her. I do like the idea of her genuinely befriending Johnny and Kitty and maybe Ember though. (Meanwhile, Danny's other-friend-group definitely includes Dora and Sidney bc I hc that Sidney and Danny would become better friends after working out their differences, and occasionally Johnny because they seemed friendly in a couple of episodes. I can see him befriending Ember too. Just give Danny all the teen ghosts as friends ok.)
But yes I totally agree to Val being a forerunner superhero like Bats and Supes and eventually getting recruited by a superhero team. But like the others' communities not really interacting with each other except the occasional crossover, I don't really see Danny and co crossing over to Val's "community" either mostly because they ARE all busy with their own responsibilities. Aside from the "Batman doesn't want to recruit Danny because of his bad press" thing (which, legit, but I think at this point it's been years and Danny has proven to be more good than not, and besides Danny isn't the only hero with bad press so I don't think it'd matter much to Batman), Danny is on his way to becoming king, or learning to be one, or has already become king and is now having to deal with all the responsibilities that come with that, including taking time to study law and meet people and in general split his time between the GZ and AP. Sam is trying to save Lake Eerie from pollution and overfishing/hunting and the occasional ghost sea monster haunting them and other stuff, and helping rebuild the mermaid clan (which btw I think is less of a royalty thing and more of a chieftain thing? I feel like since it's such a small clan it's not really a kingdom so much as it is a tribe, so Chief might fit better than Queen for Sam's upcoming leadership role in this case) and in general mermaids like to keep secret, so I don't think Sam would opt to join Valerie in joining a superhero group to help them stay secret even if she could pass off her powers as a meta or mutant thing (though yes, maybe there CAN be the occasional crossover where she can meet Aquaman, should the situation require Val to call in some aquatic help). Tucker's responsibilities seem very local, and though I'm sure he'd be stoked and excited to join a superhero team, similar to Sam I can see his pack being like "no please don't, you joining will have consequences for ALL of us" so he has to consider that (especially since it's his family, not just other random werewolves, asking). I don't think Jazz would be interested in general (except for maybe becoming a superhero therapist), though Ellie might be (though she seems more interested in just travels than having responsibilities--also I love the idea that "no one is sure she exists" is the reason she's not really known to any community except the Spooks lol). So I like the idea of, if Valerie does take on the "protect humans from human crimes" role, it's something that's just for her for the most part and not quite the "package deal" that you might be thinking. She gets to have all the cool "stop alien invasions and international crime syndicates" adventures, and when she needs the occasional help from her friends, she can ask for it (similar to everyone else in the group asking for help when they need it too). It's kinda like Batman having sidekicks but they're not really seen as part of the Justice League, they're Batman's people who help him. The Spooks are Valerie's people who help her. Yknow? (but yes, when her friends DO get involved, they do write off their powers as meta/alien things.)
But yeah, Val being part of the Science Gone Wrong Crew. They can be part of her other-friend-group, but I especially imagine her being close friends with Blue Beetle and Cyborg? Just, yknow, similar circumstances. One is a superhero via a parasitic creature thing, and the other is a superhero by technology like her. She's in between!
Also, Wes being an alien is hilarious. Would he even KNOW? I love the idea that he would think he's human, all the way up until, idk, he completes human puberty and then has a sudden transformation and learns he's an alien because he's now starting alien puberty lol. I like the idea that he had an ancestor/parent that was an alien like that one person mentioned in the comments (it would really match up with the fact that the rest of the Spooks are half-human in some way too). Imagine the freak out. He would have A Journey emotionally and mentally trying to figure that out and accept that, and FINALLY realize why trying to out Danny and co is a horrible idea because now he's in the same situation where if he's outed Bad Things TM will happen. To him. He only half-heartedly continues accusing Danny and co to not seem off, but he's slowly letting it die down to make it seem like he's naturally giving up at least. The accusation that he's an alien, while frustrating that everyone believes without much convincing, would give him such a panic attack as he realizes the consequences of what would have happened had everyone actually believed him about Danny, because now he's worried about some government coming to kidnap him and put him in Area 51. Like yeah everyone's chill and won't turn him in, but the worry is still there because he has no assurance of this. I think this would be a natural starting point for him to join the Spooks--he goes to them for help about what to do about it and maybe someone to sympathize with him (Tucker being born as he is and gaining his own teenage transformation earlier that year means he's the most likely to empathize!) and also maybe get some help in case some government guys do tote him away, but of course this is after he apologizes.
Of course they do help him out. Danny suggests he uses his Cassandra powers to just tell everyone the truth and then no one would believe it anymore. Wes is just "that seriously won't work" and Danny replies "worked when I tricked you into doing it about me" so the next time someone cracks a joke/accuses Wes of being an alien, he goes full conspirator mode and says "actually I did some digging into my family history and I think I might be! Guys I totally might be an alien! Here's point A and point B, and how I connected them, and I have a whole powerpoint on it!" and. it. WORKS. Wes is so astonished that the immediate response is "oh ha ha, Weston, real funny, that rumor is last week's news, get some new material" or something. Wes wants to slam his head into the lockers, like "WTF WHY DID THAT WORK" and then starts down the rabbit hole of ACTUALLY trying to research his family/alien lineage to try and find out if it's a power his other-half species is supposed to have. (It doesn't. It's just a coincidence. It's funny to think about Wes spiraling like that though.)
But yeah I love this. Having an alien in the group. Wes doesn't seem to have any particular responsibility or have a penchant for fighting, and I feel like since he's the late-addition and not a close friend like the tight-knit group seems to be, that's fine that he's the odd man out. His responsibility can be helping everyone cover their absences/weirdness and be alibis lol. (Wes is not one of those friends who would step in front of a splash for Sam, or stand in front of a bush so Danny can transform with slightly more cover, or etc. But that's only yet. He reluctantly goes "uhg, fine!" and does it, and eventually he'll just do it automatically. Especially after they've started covering for his oddities too--only seemed right to return the favor.) Also given his drive for investigative journalism, maybe he's their go-to guy for general researchy things.
Honestly I would love to see sketches or anything of this whole AU/XOver thing. I feel like if it were a real giant collaboration there'd need to be a discord or something to coordinate lol. Or an AO3 group? However that'll work. If you do plan on writing any side of this AU tho do post it! I will be happy to give more ideas and stuff :D
the wariness will definitely be something they will always deal with, even once they're known as members of the justice league. there's just a darker edge to them and their past. and even if they establish a place in their individual societies, they still started as outsiders. they still associate with the other.
i ironically don't actually know teen wolf that well so doing that crossover myself is a bit tricky for me. but i don't mind a cameo. for tucker i was imagining a female cousin around his age and maybe a sorta little brother type cousin. like he's young and hasn't changed yet but knows about being werewolves and stuff and really wanting to be included in their adventures even though he's baby. i am all for a latino descendant of wulf and them definitely having a family reunion at some point. i also wouldn't mind having another girl who can kick his ass when he acts stupid. i think there's actually a pattern of toxic masculinity in werewolf media, sometimes as a criticism of it, but i want some strong ladies. my brain now jumped to ginger snaps, but those were a darker breed of werewolf than i really want. idk. we should also probably think of names for everyone. but i'll probably have and easier time naming them when i sketch them.
the main crew are definitely tucker’s official pack though, much to everyone else's confusion. you also made me think that tucker will have complaints about how everyone smells. danny smells like ozone and death, sam like fish, jazz like flowers but specifically in a way that makes him sneeze. he doesn't smell great either to be fair. but it is an ongoing thing. the main irony being that when he goes and hangs out with other werewolves, he smells like his friends, so he stinks to them. i think the fact that his official pack isn't wolves is one of the things that makes him weird for the wolves. they might be tolerant of other monsters but you don't just go and pack bond with them. keep your pack among the wolves. that kinda thing.
sam isn't complaining about her powers really. she loves purification magic and being able to talk to fish and work with underwater plants. she just is annoyed that being a mermaid doesn't fit her aesthetic. that she's suddenly spending all her time on the beach or underwater. that she's at risk of getting a tan. that her weaknesses are much more prominent on land than her strengths and that she sometimes ends up holding her friends back when they suddenly have to deal with her having a tail. i think at some point danny and tucker get her a tricked out wheel chair. explaining why she needs one is tricky, they've never been the best liars, but shenanigans can be had with it.
i was actually imagining the mermaid princess to be more like yue from atla than paulina. that might make her a bit to similar to dora. but again i see her having a core of strength and being incredibly regal and capable when the moment calls for it. i don't think she'd be as naive as dora. i see her as a very strong character but one who embraces and uses her femininity in a way that sam doesn't. sam might be for feminism but she tends to look down on girls who like make up and being pretty. paulina to an extent is pretty shallow but sam isn't exactly that deep herself. she could afford to be less antagonistic to the other girls in her life. so the princess character, i'm thinking merrin as her name, would be more mature than either of them. she matured under the responsibility and pressure she's under and really came to own how she presented herself. so she might look like a Paulina or Ariel on the surface, but underneath that is an iron spine and a terrible amount of frustration.
i think their friendship would be mutually beneficial. merrin might go into their friendship initially manipulative, because she recognized sam's potential to be a leader and thought she could get a break. so she would be subtly pushing sam into the roll in public and teaching her politics on the way. and that would make their relationship more contentious in the beginning. but gradually, as they get closer and merrin has more opportunity to loosen up, it becomes more apparent that the mermaid has a lot to complain about and they have fun bitching about things. sam's helps merrin work out her frustration and just have a life outside her duty. sam meanwhile is maturing about her female relationships, seeing the value of femininity. she's also using what she learns about politics to get her way more on land. passing laws that protect ghosts and animals and the lake.
you're right about them needing to be a trio, though i would argue the fish companion could count as their third depending on how smart we make them. but i suppose we could have another character. i think i mentioned a merman who is considerably smaller than sam but who's flirting with her a lot. he might learn to respect her and get humbled and more helpful as the story progresses though. like character development. he's also really scared of danny, who is not only huge compared to him but also a bloody ghost. wtf. for some reason i'm inclined to call him hector.
either way i'm down with the absolute shenanigans of the mers getting on land and running around amity causing their own brand of chaos and also encountering ghosts and seeing why sam is 'like that'. just having them in the school would be wild. the populars would immediately try to latch on to merrin because she's beautiful and elegant and mature. but she's also taking the opportunity to be immature and messy since none of her subject can see her here. so she's going to say some mean stuff and feel incredibly proud of herself.
aside, mermaids are also known for singing. so i think it would be interesting to have her accidentally pull siren shit on land. i'm debating if singing should be one of sam's powers. it might be one, but she refuses to use that power because her voice doesn't suit the kind of music she likes. she wants to sing metal or punk and she has a voice for choir. i'm also going to go with the head canon that danny can sing well and that ends up being some common ground between him and merrin. danny accidentally getting pulled into a siren trio with ember and merrin. sam and tucker having to break them up, because while they're having fun, they're getting out of control. i don't think either danny or merrin set out to hurt anyone but sometimes you join an accapella group and things happen.
i like spike, a lot. i'm a punk so having characters i con project onto is fun. i'm less inclined to give jazz another side kick though. i could see her maybe almost making friends with a brownie, and it following her home to help clean and take care of it, as brownies do. only for it to be chased out within the day by the pure chaos of the fenton security system. she was so close and yet so far. on the other hand keeping with the theme of jazz making friends with people (and creatures) aesthetically darker than her. i could see her accidentally befriending a dark sithe. a member of the court of shadows. like someone genuinely kinda evil, and who assumes jazz is also more evil than she is based on her power level. they don't help her reputation among the fae. misunderstandings ensue and yet jazz still manages to keep her head and be manipulative enough to escape unharmed from the sithe's manipulations and possible attempts to literally kill her. now i'm imagining jazz somehow inherited jack's oblivious plot armor. where she's naive and friendly enough, to just duck at the right times and dodge all shots accidentally. doyle is loosing their mind. i'm going to call the dark sithe Pantera after my black cat.
i could also see her befriending a pooka. i could see them as a mute character that usually only she can see. for shenanigans. she's not as close with them, but they're one of the nicer fae she's in contact with. the pooka also likes to play pranks and tease people, often invisibly behind their back when only jazz can see them. they go out of their way to make jazz laugh. they're going to be named harvey and are a giant rabbit, because references.
and yep, at this point, danny has been a halfa and hero for more than a year. he's teamed up with his share of ghosts over that year and has a lot of contacts and friends within the ghost zone. i could see him having another episode with sidney where they end up actual friends. now i kinda want sidney to reveal some hidden useful skill that everyone, especially his bullies missed. danny seeing past the nerdiness to the brave and plucky kid the sidney really is and they form a genuine friendship. bonus, danny getting a bit nerdier through proximity and tanking his own reputation in the process. dora probably doesn't leave the zone as often now that she's queen. but they remain good friends. amorpho, wulf, and cujo also count as good friends. i am into danny getting close with kitty, johnny, and ember though. i think it starts with him giving a bit of grown and letting them out of the zone so long as they don't hurt anyone. could also see them sharing music. danny learning the music from the time they died, vs the music he likes now. they're all kinda edgey just in different ways. i also want the punk ghost trio to be a bad influence on him, but in a fun way. because lets be real, danny has gotten really stuck in the goody two shoes act since dan. letting him have some fun and be a bad boy is totally valid as far as i'm concerned. also i just want him riding a motorcycle.
you've made a good point about keeping the human heroes as mainly val's thing. it's much more balance. i might have jumped the gun because, obviously, i'm a superhero nerd. you're right about everyone being busy as hell. i like chief sam but also like sam being a princess just aesthetically. she is going have to build her kingdom, and work mainly in the water though. danny becoming king is happening so he might also be getting training for that at this point, possibly via clockwork shenanigans which takes him all over creation. i know you said tucker is more local but i'm actually going to say that while the werewolf community is relatively small, they move around a lot. the have established territories but they can be pretty freaking big and they travel a lot within them. so tucker leaving town to interact with his family and settle things within the larger territory. which would also give him a larger opportunity to deal with other monsters. he's still the team tech guy though. probably doing some man in the chair stuff. you're right about jazz minding her business. she has school.
but yeah having them be her people and occasional come on missions especially when it concerns their 'thing' such as a rogue vampire or killer whale. val just being able to say i have a guy for that. and having this smug look. in part because she kinda has a guy for everything. her friends are freaking versatile.
aquaman: i can't settle issues in the great lakes because it's technically not my domain and it would anger the mers there. val: oh don't worry i know someone
some of the heroes do end up wondering why her friends aren't part of the league, but they have a life. i think there's a bit of irony in she almost never summons phantom to handle ghost problems because she can handle most ghosts, so the supers probably don't even know she's friends with phantom now. it would have to be a big world threat to bring him in and it would probably blow some minds. in the mean time, any of her other friends showing up, they leave quite an impression for how little they're actually around.
i also think batman goes down a rabbit whole researching her and her friends. initially it looks simple for jazz. ghosts are kinda while but he gets protecting your town from the threat. and her civilian live isn't overly complicated. she was a nice girl who's dad lost his money due to a ghost attack and she ended up taking up ghost hunting on top of a fast food job. she's pretty much a normal person as far as heroes go. but then he looks into her friends. and everyone has a secret life and just keeps getting wilder the further he looks because they're all chaotic and involved in things all over the place. danny is doing stuff all throughout time. that might actually mean batman doesn't put together fenton is phantom. maybe he just assumes phantom is his ancestor, and that's why they look alike. the lab accident and the ghost hunter parents is weird enough though....
actually! batman figuring out that the lab accident gave dany ghost powers but not putting together he's phantom. batman inviting fenton to be a superhero and put his powers to good use, unaware that danny is already a very busy hero. danny being too dumb to refuse because joining the justice league would be so cool. danny having to train his ghost powers in human form and getting a new suit and secret identity. val having to cover for him and finding this entire situation ridiculous. especially because he's going to flunk out of school at this point.
danny: do i need to graduate when i'm going to be king val: no one wants a high school dropout to handle politics. danny: the ghost zone begs to differ
it proves unsustainable and Fenton decides to just be her sidekick when he has time, but otherwise sticks in amity.
blue beetle and cyborg are a cool combination for her. not just because they got powers in similar ways, but also because they're all heroes of color. gotta stick together and have each other's back. just in general they have vibes. i also like val being half in love with wonder woman, because same. training with a strong female hero is everything to val. i think we also need a hero good at challenging her and keeping her level. val isn’t perfect and i think it’s be healthy for someone to challenge her decisions and stubbornness. she’s a little too similar to bats for them to disagree enough to be proper foils. i’m kinda torn on having her foil in the league either be flash or superman.
flash would be a good foil because he’s not really the type to punish his villains. he does his best to get to know people and help his villains get help. he’s a lot looser and fun. i imagine his goofy personality would get on vals nerves cause she takes her job very seriously. he’s also the result of a science gone wrong. he might be a little too similar to danny though. and on the one hand that could emphasis certain point and be used for jokes. we all ready have danny serving as a foil so it probably wouldn’t be as effective as it could be.
superman pulling his innocent golden boy thing though has potential though. they are so inherently different and sups is impossible to hate, so i see val struggling with the fact that she isn’t good enough. she’d probably enter a mental compensation with him. to be as good, to be as heroic, as him. and the fact that she’s loosing is driving her up the wall. especially when he comments about how some of her methods aren’t very heroic. she’s a fighter first and foremost. superman has mad a career out of pulling his punches. val has always been fighting extra hard. essentially she’s jealous. had the potential to let her grow in different ways. i think batman would point out that no one can match sups and that she should be herself. but it still niggles at her. sups plays oblivious but i see him knowing and just affectionately teasing her. she gets better about her jealousy. and even becomes a better hero from the prodding, but she has a mild grudge.
wes would get his own fic in this series of his adventures and the first half being devoted to him discovering his powers and facing the consequences of his actions. like the others would be all about exploring their different worlds and going on magical adventures. and then you have wes, going through a rough puberty and realizing he’s been a jerk to the only people who could possibly help him. fantastic. good shit. it’s a who emotional journey probably full of trips and hiccups and backsliding and denial.
bonus points if his older brother, easton, is in the know and trying to help and ease him through it. but wes is having a conniption because he 1. didn’t notice his brother was an alien and 2. his brother didn’t tell him this was going to happen to him. easton points out that it might not have happened. it skips a lot of people in the family line. it skipped kyle.
kyle is going to be positively oblivious in this. he doesn’t believe in anything paranormal. his brother being an alien is out of the question. it’s really a rule fo the funny situation. is he dumb? is he actually totally aware and just committing to a bit? is he just missing everything by sheer coincidence. who knows... but wes hates it.
so there can be some focus on the brotherly relationships. easton trying to be a good big brother but also being the type who explains nothing and who really doesn’t understand his little brother. kyle being affectionate and great but not understanding anything that’s going on. i think he would probably be the type to give good advice anyway. like the situations he’s imagining or even using as reference are totally normal and have nothing to do with the situation at hand, but is still somehow the perfect advice for the situation at hand. like wes ends up getting pulled into one of the superhero situations and meeting other aliens for the first time, and kyle just takes it as, ‘oh you’re meeting knew people? other conspiracy theorist. bro that’s great. here’s how you make friends.” and wes is going on a riff on how he has no idea what species they are or if there’s any sort of grudges or racism between alien races. and kyle is like “oh they’re foreigners? i knew this swedish exchange student. miscommunications happen, but so long as you’re both trying, things will turn out fine, my brother.”
wes is struggling. but so he eventually gets outed as an alien, and has his character development and panic attacks and so on. he’s a fun character because he’s neurotic enough to act in extremes. going into paranoid isolation, looking everywhere for bugs or white vans. and he’d be trying to train his powers as fast as possible so he’d have a way to defend himself.
when he finally goes to the spooks for help they present a united front, that’s both intimidating and pretty gay because none of them know how to sit like a straight person. i don’t have strong feelings on their sexualities, but not straight is a safe assumption. even works in with the history of monsters being used as metaphorical stand ins for lgbtq people. there’s narrative groundwork for it, and also i’m just queer and down for character i like also being queer. anyway, they spend a whole chunk of the night teasing him and making him grovel for all the trouble he gave them. they don’t make it easy for him and force a litteral verbal apology from him.
but they do help him in the end and relax somewhat afterwards. i don’t think they’ll trust him for a while yet.. he burned a lot of bridges and has a bed habit of not respecting boundaries. that would be an ironic way for him to prove useful actually. he’s stupidly good at observation, so he’s usially the first to know when someone’s or something is off. he is actually weirdly attentive and good at sensing mood changes and problems. like it’s still creepy initially. like why do you know how many times i blink dude? but still it proves useful over time.
i could also see wes, having discovered how effective his cassandra powers are, just... telling the truth to cover for them. it’s like, if no one’s going to believe him anyway, he might as well develop the blunted delivery ever and tell people he told them so when they finally catch on.
star: where is val anyway? wes: she joined the justice league and is away on a mission star: hah, yeah right, nerd wes staring into the camera blank faced and soooo tired
the sad thing is he might get in trouble for lying and making up stories. he is the most honest person in amity at this point. pity him.
his adventure mainly involves figuring out his powers, reluctantly getting involved with the spooks, and yes covering for them. he’s neurotic enough that i can see things getting pretty chaotic for him just dealing with his civilian live and being surrounded by so much paranormal stuff. he probably would be motivated to regain some of the friendships he’d ruined by being so obsessive. i could see him trying to regain popularity at some point, trying to escape the conspiracy theorist title.his relationship with his brothers and his improving relationships with the others can also be it’s own thing. now i’m imagining wes getting pulled on random adventured into the others lives (because no one else was available) and realizing he’s in way over his head. there are also several solid moments of “i could have died. i could have died so many times.” lets be real, if his friends weren’t heroes, they could all individually one shot him out of existence. that realization is only starting to sink in.
he eventually settles in the man in a chair role. tucker had started there, and then later jazz. they all have their techniques and such. tucker covering tech and hacking, jazz mental resources and emotional well being, and wes research has it’s benefits. but i could also see some initial tension. mainly because tucker doesn’t want wes reading his files.or messing up his desk set up.
i’d like for wes to eventually find his place with them, despite the rocky start. val would eventually start introducing him to the aliens in the league and they’d start trying to determine where he’s from and they can eventually have adventures with that. but for the time being, wes is his own worse enemy. he is his own antagonist and honestly that’s valid and relatable of him.
i don’t know if these posts have enough traction yet to produce a fic series and i don’t really want to put the leg work in for that. but i ma having fun just brainstorming with you, so lets roll with that. - Hestia

fuck I still haven't done the rewrite of the Mutant Town AU that I specifically came off hiatus to write, like the Plant Witch Sam and Pharaoh Tucker posts were written to prep this au and I just got wildly distracted so uhhhh
yeah the concept is in the link but the gist is that the people and town becoming mutated by constant ectoplasmic contamination, we all know and love this concept right but I'm gonna expand on it
this is a direct result of the portal being opened, but they aren't getting infected from the portal, the issue is that creating a permanent opening into the ghost zone has weakened the veil between their worlds and Amity Park and the Ghost Zone sort of slip in and out of each other constantly
and because ectoplasm responds strongly to emotions (poltergeists being made from atmospheric emotions for example) it all tends to converge very heavily at the school full of hormonal teenagers
so Casper High becomes its own god damn cryptid, the teachers get so jaded about opening the door to a classroom and finding just a whole ass ghost zone on the other side that they just put a sign on the door telling kids to go to a different room, lockers swap contents with other lockers so kids have started putting their names on the inside so they know who's stuff they've just found
this also means the kids get super affected, like super affected, literally, they all get ghost powers, some are just physical mutations, some are just super abilities, or a general increase in natural ability, like a member of the track team getting super speed
it takes a while for Danny and co. to figure this out, Sam and Tucker should have been warning signs as they've spent the most time around ghosts and the ghost zone, but that's why the Witch Sam and Pharaoh Tucker posts are important
they have powers, but they thought they came exclusively from outside sources, they had no idea that their abilities were also strengthened and influenced by being highly contaminated by ectoplasm, which is why when one day Mikey sneezes and green acid shoots out of his nose and melts his desk, everyone is a little bit startled
the teachers have long since started using ghost detectors after the time Paulina spent a whole week overshadowed by Kitty, so Mikey gets a check over and other than the usual atmospheric reading Lancer gets nothing especially strong from him
there have been concerns about the gradually increasing ectoplasmic content in the air messing with ghost detector results, the devices have to be recalibrated constantly, so Lancer asks the one and only son of the local ghost hunters in the room if he has some other way to check
Danny's parents make him keep a few protective items in his schoolbag, so he tries some gear on him to see if anything comes flying out, but nothing does, Danny isn't too surprised seeing as he couldn't sense a ghost in the room anyway, but it definitely makes things a little concerning
even if it were a repeat of the Spectra incident and he wasn't being overshadowed, the Fenton's tech would have still gotten rid of whatever was causing this if it were an external influence
Mikey is sent home for the day and his parents are told to keep an eye on him
and then the next week, Star drops a pen off her desk and a strand of her hair whips out to grab it, she's also checked for ghost influence and sent home
a few weeks after that it happens again, a kid on the basketball team makes a leap to the net and stays in the air, they have to call in the cheerleaders to climb on top of each other to reach him and pull him down
Danny has been trying to figure out what's happening from the first moment with Mikey, and his parents have also been getting calls from worried parents who want to know if they can fix whatever's happening to their kids
over the next couple of months, every kid in the school has some kind of ability or mutation, Dash heals whoever he touches, which he discovers after punching Nathan in the face and curing his acne, Paulina turns invisible, which freaks her out at first until she realises it's great for eavesdropping, Wes can conjure fire (because I desperately needed him to have a polarising ability to Danny), Kwan becomes empathic and can feel and influence people's emotions
Valerie also had an early mutation that she didn't know about, when Technus gave her a new suit, her body pretty much just absorbed it as a part of her, Technus had not intended this to happen, and was pretty peeved about it, Valerie found out that she had stolen control over the suit when Technus had a big rant about it during a fight, and she put the pieces together once other kids started developing abilities
this whole thing causes a ton of chaos as kids are struggling to control what they can do, so Danny has to step in and help them out, he often has to run off to change into Phantom in order to protect everyone from an ability that's gone haywire, he ends up pretty much running ghost power training courses after school to help them control themselves
he's also gotten stuck in situations where he's had to step in and help someone without having the time to change forms, meaning he has to make up a cover story about having developed his own powers way before everyone else since he's been living on top of a portal for years, he only tells people about his ice powers
Jazz has always had a tendency to be able to reign in her emotions and keep a cool head, (the only ones who can really push her buttons are Danny and sometimes her parents, at school around other kids who look up to her she's often very in control) meaning she doesn't draw ectoplasm to herself all that much, and though Danny uses the excuse of having lived on top of a ghost portal to explain why he's already so familiar with using his power, it's actually not even remotely true, because the Fentons use specialised air purifiers to keep the atmospheric ectoplasm at a manageable level, the Fenton house ironically has the least atmospheric contamination compared to the rest of the town, that's how Maddie and Jack have had limited mutation to themselves (though they aren't wholly free, they've mostly just gotten physically stronger and tougher)
so even though Jazz develops her power a little earlier than everyone else's, it's not that far ahead, and she actually doesn't even realise she already has one until half the school has developed theirs
Jazz has the power to slow time in a little bubble around herself, she'd been using it without realising while studying, having gotten through hours of work in half that time, she always thought it was just her losing track of time or she was just getting faster at reading, she also spends a lot of time counselling other students and trying to help them sort out their problems, and they'd often comment that they felt like they'd been talking for so much longer than they had, again she just chalked it up to losing track of time
a lot of students had wondered why Danny developed a power early and Jazz hadn't, until someone walked in on Jazz helping a girl through a panic attack in the bathroom, and found them both talking extremely fast, a lot of her friends realised in hindsight that she'd been doing that unwittingly for quite a while, nobody had noticed because she always talked to people privately, so nobody outside her little time bubble had seen it happen
Sam and Tucker come clean about their abilities too, but they also don't give the full rundown, still keeping some things close to the chest to avoid standing out from everyone else
then there's the teachers
adults typically have a better time regulating emotions than teenagers, meaning much like Jazz they aren't drawing as much ectoplasm toward themselves, but this doesn't exempt them from developing something after a while, especially with the heightened stress of managing a school full of volatile super kids
Mr Lancer discovers that he can create shields, after an incident where he jumps in front of some students to protect them from another power gone awry
Tetslaff ends up with a sonic ability, able to project her voice like a megaphone (yes this is a Coach Boomer from Sky High reference don't @ me), Principal Ishiyama develops a physical mutation, growing to twice her size, she likes that she can tower over the students while delivering speeches, but she doesn't like having to stoop through doors all the time, she has the one to her office resized, along with her chair and desk
so as you can imagine, the town ends up erupting into chaos, a lot of kids very much misuse their abilities, Danny does his best as Phantom to teach people to be responsible, but sometimes he has to resort to literally kicking their asses to get them to straighten up
but for the most part, a ton of kids were already looking up to him, and are generally pretty happy to follow his example, especially the more popular kids, it's generally considered not very cool to get your ass kicked by Phantom, so weirdly enough a lot of kids get peer pressured into not causing any real damage or injury with their powers
this doesn't mean they don't absolutely misuse them, they're just more subtle about it
until a ghost shows up, a lot of the kids are more than happy to let loose to protect themselves and their friends, and Phantom for the most part is happy to let them, with some supervision of course, he still has to make sure nobody gets too hurt (including the ghosts)
the entire debacle makes Danny's life simultaneously a whole lot easier AND so much more fucking stressful

BNHA X DP Crossover HCs
After the long wait and finals, here are my ideas for all the quirks/occupations and other concepts I devised for the DP characters in the BNHA universe. This was just for fun and for inspiration towards others interested in this crossover au in general.
Tagging the people that were looking forward to this post based on the replies: @qoinq-qhost, @floralflowerpower, @tgfangirl4eva @goodfish-bowl, @whitehairglowinggreeneyedcrush and more.
Anyways, happy reading, folks!
Mr. Lancer
Hero name: Mr. Scholastic
Quirk: Bookworm
Involves his iconic usage of literature titles & quotes for swears to become abilities corresponding to the novel’s contents/themes. Course, he is limited to only books he has read and can quote accurately. Additionally, his voice gets very raspy past two or three quotes as well.
Occupation: Homeroom Teacher for Class 1- A; He’s very dedicated to his new students and teaching the fundamentals of being a pro hero and more! Course, I don’t think his chamomile tea with a wedge of lemon is enough to help him relax from his students (*cough* Danny, Tucker and Poindexter) from their antics at times.
Danny
Hero name: Phantom
Quirk: Ghost core (Ok, @coffeecakecafe had the best name for this one gotta give credit here)
Able to do anything a ghost is perceived to do. Go through walls, disappear and fly. This is a one of a kind quirk as it was obtained from Danny’s old quirk being altered by a machine his parents made that would repurpose/alter an individual’s quirk based on their past family members' own metahuman genetics.
Danny is doing his best and trying to understand his new quirk without causing too much attention to himself while doing so but it seems like its been doing the opposite as of late. Thankfully, he won’t be doing it alone with all his classmates around to help him!
Sam
Hero Name: Black Dahlia
Quirk: Overgrown
Able to create any plant that she knows the biological makeup and content of in almost any environment. However, it is important for her to drink lots of nutrient rich water and take in enough sun if she plans to create larger versions of these plants.
Tucker
Hero name: Tech Master
Quirk: Tech Core
Located on his chest/heart area is a special energy core capable of powering electronics at a rate faster than anything made-man could ever hope to achieve. As a kid, Tucker would tinker away in his family’s garage on a suit that would harness his power to the fullest extent and lead a new era of support tech in the hero world.
Valerie
Hero name: Red Huntress
Quirk: Electromagnetism (Someone I’ve been trying to find their post on my blog had posted this idea and I fell in love with it ever since)
She’s like Static Shock but with a dash of magenta/ruby lasers she can create through focusing her electromagnetism through her finger tips. She is an expert with her quirk and has the best handle of her quirk than most of her peers. She is the most frequent visitor in the support equipment workshop next to Tucker, Poindexter and Danny. It’s how she built the hoverboard she has in the show that utilizes her electromagnetic abilities for both offensive and defensive maneuvers. (Also, I enjoy the idea that Bullet is Val’s uncle on her mom’s side and is her biggest supporter alongside her dad, Damien Gray).
Jazz
Quirk: Serenity
Helps calm individuals and give them a sense of safety/security when they’re around her in a 10 feet radius. Though, anyone out of range cannot be affected by her quirk and she needs to be conscious in order to use it.
She planned on becoming a pro hero but felt her powers were best suited for her dream profession as a psychologist. She has used her quirk a lot when Danny was overwhelmed with his studies prior to UA. Course, a phone call and sibling chat over the phone certainly does the job for Danny now when it comes to preparing material for exams. (Course, its up to you guys to decide)
Dash
Hero name: Rager
Quirk: Strength Magnification
Improves his physique and stamina by a large percentage for a set amount of time. Needs to be careful of how much/long he magnifies his body or else his body will become immensely sore.
Kwan
Hero name: Rallier
Quirk: Team Rally (50/50)
Able to duplicate himself 3-4 times while being able to power-up allies’ quirks or stamina with a rally chant to help the team. The more duplicates there are the rally effect multiplies/stacks on the individual but it can lead to dangerous outcomes for their quirk output.
Kwan is the class representative for 1-A, he’s the best at the job and was more than thrilled to be the one leading his class in more ways than one.
Paulina
Hero name: Enchantress
Quirk: Charm
If the opponent is flustered by her taunts or flirting, their vision will become altered and start seeing things that are not there. It works better on men than women and the opponent can snap out of it with enough willpower or if they’re not interested in her.
Star
Hero name: Ms. Meteorite
Quirk: Comet
Similar to Gran Torino’s Jet quirk except faster and she can create an explosive impact on where she lands. Similar to a meteorite landing on earth, she also learns to use this as a long distance move by punching fast enough as she descends to create wind pressure punches.
Poindexter
Hero name: Tex (like in Tex Avery; Danny gave him the idea!)
Quirk: Slapstick
His appearance is black and white just like an old timey cartoon character as well as having the durability and cartoon powers of one. However, his quirk can only work as long as what he does with it is funny in the circumstance it’s used for. Sort of like “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” rules in a sense.
Sidney is part of Class 1-A just saying, I don’t care, this is Poindexter’s time to shine here to be the coolest/funniest person in the class. Also, Tucker’s most loyal friend/tester for new support items.
Wes Weston
Hero name: Vigilance
Quirk: Deduction
He is able to deduct people’s identities to flaws/weak points for him to use against them and  exploit against problems.
Class 1-B Representative and the most annoying/terrifying person that Danny has dealt with in his life. He was able to figure out that Danny’s quirk is not his own or more so that it's not natural and takes every opportunity to state this regardless if anyone is listening or not.
Amber Mclain
Hero Name: Ember
Quirk: Fiery voice (50/50)
Her quirk uses the vibrations in her sining voice to conduct intense heat waves onto opponents or utilize to rumble the structures around here and even put out the flames from her quirk. Its like a combination of Present Mic and Endevours quirk but it leaves her with a strained or inflamed vocal cords with overuse.
Third year student or an upcoming rock star that has certainly gain huge popularity after her song “Remember” was a nationwide hit amongst the younger generation. She’s striving to be the top hero while making her next hit to become the 1# song on the listings.
Dani
Hero name: Phantwo (lol jk; unsure what her name would be)
Quirk: Poltergeist
Similar to Danny’s quirk “Ghost”, except she has the additional ability to melt herself to a slimy puddle and use her ectoplasmic slime to trap or surprise opponents.
Clockwork
Hero Name: Clockwork
Quirk: Time Keeper
Clockwork’s quirk allows him to stop time for 5 to 15 minutes and be able to rewind it in the same amount of time. It can be one to multiple objects as long as he touches them in order to interact with them.
Principle of UA in this au. He’s quite a reserved man but still manages to visit and congregate with students throughout the school during lunch period.
Flynn Fenton/Flynn Walker
Hero Name: The Green Knight
Quirk: Mineralization
His quirk allows him to manipulate the minerals and inorganic materials in the atmosphere to create into crystalized constructs that are almost stronger than diamond. Luckily, the crystals have no value so he doesn’t have to worry about that aspect of his quirk. He does have to worry about his skin becoming dried out as a result of his quirk usage.
Flynn is a third year student that loves to check up on his cousin, Danny, any chance he gets bc of the amount of work he does with his internships.
James Walker (or James W. Hausermann)
Hero name: Warden Wraith
Quirk: Plasma Apparatus
His quirk ionizes the electrolytes in the blood system into plasma. His entire body is composed of plasma giving him his skeletal appearance. He can create plasma chains, teleport from point A to B and more as long as he focuses and has enough energy at use. Course, he can have minor to severe dehydration and imbalance in his electrolyte levels from overuse.
Occupation: CEO of an infrastructure security company/Provisional License Examiner just like Gang Orca.The ghost prison guards become his backup/helpers for the exam phases. (They’re just trained stuntmen with combat or military experience for the occasion).
Also, I like to think Walker has kids in this au who are in the Class 1-A group; they’re not hard to spot they take after their father with their skeletal complexion.
Skulker
Villain name: Quirk Hunter
Quirk: Tracker
The moment Skulker makes eye contact with his target he will be able to hunt them down and find them anywhere no matter how good they are at covering their tracks. He can lock on to only one target, but he will be able to know their heart beat, quirk, be able to place a tracking/scent line that only he can see and will lead him to his target’s location. It lasts for over a day or a half.
Occupation: Skulker is known for capturing, info-detailing or “retiring” newcomer pros or specific quirk users for his clients that pay him handsomely for their targets, dead or alive. Thanks to Vlad, Danny was strictly intended to be captured alive by Skulker but sometimes he gets too thrilled by the hunt to not have a memento. Trust me, it's more of a dangerous
Nicolai Technus
Villain Name: Technus
Quirk: Technopathy
A genius in his own right, even if he’s a little crazy, with the best ability possible for a man of science and innovation. As long as he knows the makeup and attributes of the machine, Technus is able to completely repurpose or change a machine’s qualities for offensive and defensive qualities. Whenever that be for a mech suit or hacking a high tech system for entry, he’s able to do it as long as he knows what it is and how it functions. An example is repurposing a slot machine into a submachine gun that shoots coins at the target.
Vlad Masters
Name: Vlad Plasmius
Quirk: Vampire
Can do anything a vampire can supposedly do. However, he was able to manifest an additional aspect of this quirk which is the ability to copy any quirk users ability. Based on the type of blood he ingests decides the amount of time he can use the copied quirk for.
Occupation: CEO of his own hero firm, he is extremely selective with the interns he has that there is a major waitlist to be even consider for Masters Inc. Course, imagine the surprise Danny must of felt when he received an offer from Vlad right off the bat after the Sports festival.
Bruce Guiles (Bullet)
Hero Name: Bullet
Quirk: Sphyraena or Chimera Fish
Able to do anything a barracuda can do or the quirk is a 50/50 mutant quirk in which he has both the traits of a barracuda, Chimaeras and a touch of piranha from his parents being of one of these fish species hence Chimera. Bullet can do anything those fish can do overall but he can’t go too long without hydration from water. Water quality and its oxygen content also affect his abilities by a noticeable percentage but he still remains quite formidable as a quirk user.
Occupation: Captain of a coast guard team, he’s a strict military man with an amazing record of saving people from any disasters both on land and sea. Him and Walker are best buddies ever since they went to school together.
Vortex
Hero Name: Vortex
Quirk: Storm Warning
Vortex can utilize any variation of a natural disaster depending on the environment he’s in. Hurricanes, tornadoes, thunderstorms, you name it he can create it for his use. However, despite his amazing control over his quirk it is still possible for him to create these disasters if he lost control or magnify another pre-existing one if he loses focus.
Occupation: Storm-chaser/Forecaster; His control and knowledge in combating/predicting these natural disasters has led to him to be part of a storm chasing crew and they’re the best in helping disaster prevention teams evacuate citizens as a result.
Petra Eris
Hero name: Pandora
Quirk: Butterfly Effect
Can manipulate or prevent a chaotic event to happen if she was in proximity and present to prevent it to happen. Or even give a little chaos to the opponent to deal with during battle.
One of the top ten heroes and most beloved heroes in the country. She is the best strategist in any team and has a way to predict any event before they happen given the necessity of it for her quirk to work in her favor.
Johnny
Vigilante name: Johnny 13
Quirk: Unlucky
Johnny manifests his bad luck into a shadow that will latch onto opponents and cause unfortunate events to occur more for that individual as a result. However, the shadow cannot exist in complete sunlight; it can only remain if there are already shadows in his general area or it’s nighttime and its effects are strongest at that time obviously.
Occupation: Johnny is the leader of a biker gang or de-facto leader of said biker gang who loves to raise hell and helping folks that need saving whenever he’s around or is up to the task. Kitty tags along with him to help him out of jams and bc she loves him. :3
Kitty
Vigilante name: Kitty
Quirk: Lovesick
Kitty sends a smooch towards her opponent which if it makes contact causes the individual to have nausea or become disoriented for around 10 minutes. It can also have a chance of lasting longer if the individual was sort of infatuated with her regardless of gender.
Pariah Dark
Villain name: King Pariah
Quirk: Ultimate Adaptation
Similar to all for one except with the unpredictability for both the user and opponents. Pariah can manifest any type of quirk needed to defeat anyone that stands in his way both one-on-one and in groups. Course, drawbacks are the learning curve to some of the quirks and that multiple adaptions he utilizes at once will destroy his cells in the process.
Pariah is a former follower of all for one who had unique quirk that All for one augmented to help him succeed if both Shigaraki and Tomura failed in their own conquest for the world. But now Pariah has his own plans to succeed where they failed and become the leader who shapes a new world order with an iron fist.
Frederick Kingsmen
Villain/vigilante name: Fright Knight
Quirk: Burning Energy Infusion
Able to form/infuse objects with his own burning energy life force that is capable of burning or slicing through any in his sight. The sweat he gives off is what provides the material needed to ignite his unnatural flames despite it causing his body to overheat still.
Fright Knight is Pariah’s second-in-command with a loyalty to him as strong as his control over his power. Fright Knight has faced many pro-heros as he carried out the smaller phases of Pariah’s plans and most of them barely came close towards defeating or leaving as much as  scratch on the knight.
Rodolfo Gonzalo
Hero name: Wulf
Quirk: Werewolf + Portal creation (50/50?)
Can do anything a werewolf can supposedly do; somehow it allows him to create portals with his claws to locations he has marked with them or visited in the past.
Wulf was abducted on by Pariah’s forces and sent into the Nomu labs for experimentation to force on another quirk and instill complete allegiance to their cause. Course, Wulf broke free as a result of that new additional quirk allowing him to escape their clutches and his previous one helping him survive the endeavor. However, he lost his memories in the process and could only remember his native language, Spanish, and his hero name Wulf.
Overgrown
Villain/vigilante Name: Overgrown
Quirk: Plant Manipulation
Can manipulate any pre-existing plant matter or create new vegetation if water and soil is present for the process or he understand the biological makeup of the plant in question.
Occupation: Pro-hero or eco-terrorist who is tired of humanity from abusing the environment from quirk battles to industries using the land for their own benefits and none others.
That’s all I have for now! I hope this was worth the wait, guys. As well as, inspire ideas for your takes with a DP x BNHA Crossover!

Note
just ran into your art today and. would you like to elaborate on your gay lucky in love rewrite 👀
boy would i
as always shoutouts to @crystalfloe for pitching + workshopping w me on this, ESPECIALLY on this one since it was mostly her idea!
we open up with a shot of shadow circling through amity park, looking in the windows of various citizens. danny is face-down, fast asleep; valerie is repairing some gear; tucker is being a gamer; sam is watching a horror movie; paulina is also watching a horror movie. shadow passes by all these houses and gets more and more annoyed, until he peeks the window of a large, elaborate house:
dash has drawn the curtains, turned the lights off, turned a fan up. this is his deep dark secret. he’s sitting on his bed, face lit by the dim rose glow of his laptop. the volume is turned down so low but the viewer still sees and hears him whisper along to the movie: “but we could never be together, jessica...” “but... I love you...” he’s watching a HORRIBLY cheesy hallmark romcom.
but of course nobody can KNOW he’s into chickflicks and romcoms! he’s a tough football man and it would trash his rep if anyone knew he secretly craved those deep but silly romantic stories... the tenderness, the love...
shadow has specifically been looking for a romantic.
shadow slips in and ‘possesses’ dash. possesses in quotes, because, well, even though dash is dumb and therefore easy to possess, shadow is ultimately a glorified dog, and not a fully sentient ghost; he doesn’t have any total agency in dash, and the most he can do is mess around with his emotional and hormonal balance. shadow is DISMAYED, upon entering, that dash’s deep romanticism is so repressed, and so immediately gets to work digging it out of the recesses of his brain, putting it in the forefront.
(see, what danny and the audience will learn later is, shadow is a ghost that subsists off of love. romantic love especially. he first found a ‘host’ in johnny (before he died!) because johnny and kitty were madly, ridiculously in love, and johnny especially admired kitty beyond words. they still do love each other, of course! but like all healthy relationships, they’ve learned to take breaks, and they have a ‘break week’ once every few months.)
(this, naturally, drives shadow up a WALL; after a certain level, displays of romance become like dog treats, and shadow has been downright spoiled by the overabundance of love between the two. when they take a BREAK WEEK and aren’t constantly showering each other (and therefore him!) with affection, he needs to go find another host, because clearly they do not love him and have forsaken him. they kick miette.)
since shadow’s prime host for so long has been johnny, his understanding of a few... norms... are bleeding over. dash shows up to school with a leather jacket and a motorcycle (his family’s rich, of course he’s had one). his hair is slicked back and the cologne is overpowering. while danny and others think it’s just another asshole stage of dash, kwan (as well as the popular kids, but kwan especially) notices something’s wrong. it’s not quite... dash.
yeah, he’s happy-- well, he’s also strangely flirty with everyone (shadow is testing the waters, trying to find out who is the best match). and kwan LOVES that he’s happy. but he’s a little too daydreamy, he laughs a little too long. he is having horrible luck all day, but he just keeps taking it in stride. dash is concerned with appearances, but this is the first time he’s put in effort like it was for other people to see. he’s a little too suave. his eyes reflect just a little too much light.
and then-- luck of luck-- shadow finds the big name repressed crush.
fenton! of course!
danny did NOT want to deal with dash towering over him and slamming him into the wall, but he didn’t KNOW how to deal with dash leaning over him and telling him he looked cute. danny’s flustered! of course he is! well, yeah, dash is an asshole, he knows that, yeah he’s a stuck up rich kid, YES SAM, he knows this (sam is not fooled by a little hair gel and some high heeled leather boots), but you can’t deny he’s, well, built. and he’s weirdly suave? and nice. he’s actually being really nice. what no of course DANNY hasn’t had a crush on DASH this whole time or anything. shut up.
the fact that dash asks him to meet him in the woods at lunch (because sam, jazz, and even tucker are increasingly concerned with dash just making moves on danny, afraid it’s some new form of abuse; and lancer keeps perceiving it as bullying since that’s their dynamic and breaking it up) and he GOES is just. well. that’s unrelated isn’t it.
they kiss and danny is starting to maybe think dash just had a homophobic middle school experience like everyone else when- his GHOST SENSE GOES OFF. RIGHT HERE? RIGHT NOW??? (gee what could be causing it?) dash cracks a joke about him using too many breath mints and danny panics, bullshits an excuse, and runs off to transform and find the ghost.
dash thinks he’s been rejected and almost shakes out shadow’s possession from the sheer dismay, but shadow doubles down. no, no, we can find another crush. somewhere.
...oh hey! the ghost boy!
time to double down on the ghost aesthetics.
danny’s just finished fighting kitty (”where’s your boyfriend” “that’s none of your BUSINESS!”) when there’s a motorcycle rev underneath him. there’s... dash, again, but.... something feels very, very wrong.
danny lands, cautious. “hey phantom... you into biker dudes?” “don’t you have... a boyfriend...” “heee sorta dumped me in the woods”. and then danny gets close enough for his ghost sense to go off. and it clicks.
“dash, you’re possessed”
this is the ONE THING that shadow can’t have. this could be the perfect romance, and THIS GHOSTCHILD thinks he knows more about ROMANCE than SHADOW??? PSH. cue fight scene! dash of course is grappling with both not wanting to hurt phantom, but wanting this ghost out of his system, because of COURSE he’s possessed geez why else would he want to kiss FENTON of all people-- but shadow REFUSES to leave, slowly building more and more monstrous elements onto dash, darker eyes and claws, erasing his legs until it’s not dash as much as it is a large shadow monstrosity with dash at the center.
danny eventually realizes he needs a new strategy and runs for it. after a decent amount of bickering with sam/tuck, they realize that the only ones who would know how to tame shadow are.... kitty and johnny.
turns out, when shadow went missing, kitty NOTICED. (johnny didn’t! he was having a fun alone time working on his bike with loud music.) this is bad. why? well, johnny is NOT a very powerful ghost. in fact, he’s sort of the opposite. he and shadow have a symbiotic relationship of sorts; it’s shadow’s residence in him that gives him any powers at all, like the basic healing factor a ghost has, or phasing, or flying. without shadow he’s essentially a zombie, who can still be hurt in the ghost zone. NATURALLY, kitty decided to run off and retrieve shadow (because this isn’t the first time he’s run away on break week, always throwing a tantrum) before anything horrible could happen to Johnny; this is what she was doing in Amity in the first place
this is the part of the story where i reveal that the ending isnt fully fleshed out yet. in the rough conversation right it ended up with kitty and johnny trying to FORCE shadow back into johnny, and they’re getting annoyed by it, and kitty goes “well this wouldn’t be a problem if YOU weren’t so LOVING AND SENSITIVE” and johnny goes “well i wouldn’t LOVE YOU so much if you weren’t BRILLIANT and BEAUTIFUL” and they have a whole argument like that. its very funny. and shadow ends up still running away and possessing dash again.
ah, in typing this out, i have figured out an ending!
the above fight and run away happens, and there’s two endings: one where shadow possesses dash, and one where shadow possesses danny. in both, of course, the other party realizes the only way to get shadow out is through making shadow feel safe enough to leave, aka... flooding the room with romance. if dash is possessed, danny and co. realize that danny’s the prime candidate to... be the suave lil boy. if DANNY is possessed, sam and tucker begrudgingly explain that, uh, yeah, phantom might have a crush on you, he’s just really controlling of his emotions. (also kwan! kwan definitely plays a part if dash is possessed, maybe even in saying “uh... he has a bigger crush on Fenton. can you guys get him instead?” and danny. explodes)
blahlbahblah luring shadow out by being gay happens and shadow gets scooped back up by the 13s. as much as the previous argument is funny it might also be very funny if johnny literally noticed none of this, and kitty shows up like ‘you lost this’ and johnny is like. ‘...shadow? when did you leave’. anywho.
that’s the concept! the MAIN difference is that johnny and kitty actually have a very healthy and sweet relationship, and the conflict, ironically, comes from the fact that they love each other TOO much. i do love ‘dash finds out’ reveals but as far as an episodic romp goes, this might not be the best ep for him to discover the secret in. however in a oneshot or something of course you could slot that in there excellently i believe.

Don’t listen to the sound || Christmas truce 2020
Hey yo @tidehopper I was your Christmas truce partner, so sorry for the delay! I ended up doing Ghost language, this was super fun to do!
—————————
It all starts in English, Dash’s favorite subject right behind Gym.
Now, don’t get Dash wrong, he holds no lost love for the boring hour and a half where he has to sit there while Mr. Lancer goes on and on about the intricacies of the color of drapes or why this particular book is more important than the ten other books he’s had to read in other English classes, but this is the one class where he sits right behind Fenton and that's at least entertaining enough that he almost never falls asleep.
The day starts off like any other, meet up with Quan for their Monday jog then speed home to shower so he can drive by and pick up Paulina before their second period. Walk into English just before Lancer calls Dash for attendance and he’s technically on time.
Falling gracelessly into his chair he sees that today is supposed to be a ‘silent partner activity’, meaning he should be able to pawn off most of the work to whoever gets assigned to him while he talks to Quan about the school’s upcoming football match that Friday.
As the class settles around him he can’t help but notice that two thirds of the loser trio is having a particularly heated argument right next to his desk just as Fenton slips into the classroom. He gingerly places a note on the teacher’s desk before shuffling silently to his own where he promptly collapses into his chair, hands curled around his head like he’s trying to block everyone out. After all the shit that happened their freshman year Dash had backed off a bit from harassing the other teen whenever he could, and the two had settled into a shaky stalemate, so he allows himself to feel the smallest bit of sympathy for the other teen.
From what he remembers from his study session the other night Jazz had been complaining that her parents had been messing with some weird ghost hunting equipment for the past few months and it had made the house practically uninhabitable. It had gotten so bad that both Fenton kids had been staying at friend’s houses and Jazz had joked that she might as well get an apartment for her and her brother because her parents had become well and truly obsessed.
With every appearance of Phantom the ghost hunters had become more and more adamant on catching him, not that they ever came close. There had been a particularly big battle last Friday with Phantom fighting against the ghost Technus, and no one had seen hide nor hair from the so called scientists since they had shown up at the end of the battle guns blazing like there was anything they could do. They had gotten one lucky shot in against Phantom with an unfamiliar weapon just as the superhero was capturing the other ghost, but it hadn’t seemed to have any affect on him.
Dash forces himself to focus when Lancer starts calling out names, and hides a wince when he’s paired up with Fenton. The twin death glares he receives from Manson and Foley tell him he’s not not going to be able to slack off today.
Lancer passes out sheets of paper to each row, but when it gets to Fenton he doesn’t even lift his head. Manson moves quickly to pass the paper along to Dash, but he can tell something’s up.
As everyone moves to turn desks to face each other Fenton has yet to move, which only serves to unnerve Dash more, Fenton is a notoriously antsy person and a light sleeper, even when he had fallen asleep in class no one had ever been able to sneak up to him and slam down a textbook to wake him up. Manson and Foley are whispering now, sending concerned glances Fenton's way every couple seconds, and Dash decides to bite the bullet.
Placing a hand on Fenton’s thin shoulders he shakes the other teen, growing more annoyed the longer he gets no reaction.
“Fenton?” He asked, trying to keep his tone light, “Hey Fenton! Get up so we can do this dumb assign-”
ᏇᏂᏗᏖ. ᎴᏗᏕᏂ Ꭵ’Ꮇ ᏁᎧᏖ ᎴᎧᎥᏁᎶ ᏗᏝᏝ ᏖᏂᏋ ᏇᎧᏒᏦ
Dash felt a chill go down his spine as the room went silent around him. Whatever sound Fenton had just made was not human. It wasn’t even inhuman, it just sounded wrong. Like every instinct Dash had was suddenly screaming at him to run, run run get away it’s not right wrong wrong wrong-!
In an instant Fenton was sitting ramrod straight as if someone had stuck a metal pole down his spine, glancing wildly around the room like a cornered animal. In a moment that seemed to last an eternity Dash caught a glimpse of Fenton’s eyes, and he instantly regretted it. Fenton’s eyes were glowing a bright acid green, reminding Dash eerily of Phantom's own bright green eyes. But while the ghostly superhero’s eyes seemed to be alight in joy and determination, Fenton’s were dead and cold. They made Dash want to put as much distance between himself and those empty eyes as possible.
The moment was broken when, with inhuman speed and grace, Fenton leapt from his chair and escaped the classroom before anyone could move. All eyes immediately moved to Manson and Foley, with some sparing a glance at Lancer in the vain hope that their teacher had any idea what was going on.
Manson is just opening her mouth when suddenly the door that Fenton fled through seconds ago was all but slammed open by the town’s resident ghost fnatics. They were in full ghost hunting regalia and brandishing their ecto-guns like they actually knew how to use them. The two scan the room as Lancer moves swiftly over to them and the three begin a frantic discussion just outside the classroom in voices too quiet for any of the students to hear.
All eyes snap back to Mason and Foley, hoping that the two of them could possibly shine some light on whatever the hell just happened, but they're gone. Gone. There one second gone the next gone. As panic starts to consume the class Dash feels a chill go up his spine and yanks his phone out of his pocket and sends a panicked text to Jazz.
He doesn’t think English is ever going to be his favorite subject again.

danny phantom season 2, eps 1-5 thoughts! opening the new season with episodes like these kinda blew me away. we had multiple serious episodes INCLUDING a two parter!! also, valerie :)
see prev episode thoughts in this tag <3
-I don't know what I expected s2 to open with. but danny portal incident in more detail was not it. (also, I hate to break it to you, sam, but danny's parent's bigass ghost hunting rv def chugs more gas than those vehicles, lmao. unless it runs on ectoplasm or something...)
-WHY WAS DESIREE IN THE SEWER? HAVING TEA WITH IT DOWN THERE?? Her making the giant cow come alive is a boss move, we've almost had all of my fav animals as ghosts now <3 I also don't like how sam was expecting danny to just, haunt the place so the cars wouldn't get sold? I KNOWWW I know she's 14 (and I had a very annoying phase like this, I think I mentioned in a previous post, I GET IT) but they're HIS powers, and messing with (1) dealership will not really put a dent in sales overall because they can just move the cars to another sales lot, and it certainly wont change the industry anyway, it's more of a minor annoyance for (1) location. Also, usually people who work at car sales places work on commission, so if they dont make a sale, they don't have money to pay bills, or eat. sam baby if u wanna be an activist you need to like, actually look into these things. with as much money as her parents have, she could be doing a lot..more useful things for causes she cares about? it's frustrating to see someone with resources who doesn't know how to use them. but shes 14 so again. cannot be really upset :/
Tumblr media
-IS THIS A PREDATOR VS TERMINATOR VS FREDDY KRUEGER MOVIE BUT THEYRE ALL WOMEN?? you know, sam is so right to be excited about this. /I/ want to see this movie. that rules
-paulina inviting danny and friends to her quinceañera, aw! even if it is just to get phantom to show up :') and there'll be a meteor shower, and we KNOW danny wants to be an astronaut!! there's not a meteor shower every night!! the tickets are non-refundable, but..she's rich? like. gotta agree with danny, they never get invited!! I KNOW it's the principle of keeping promises, but if she was that upset, she should've said something. directly. I hated how she was like, passive aggressive about it through the episode, like you SAID IT WAS FINE, THAT YOU'D GO TO THE PARTY TOO. MOVIES SHOW FOR A FEW WEEKS IN THEATERS. IF YOU HAD A REAL PROBLEM YOU NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT. WE'VE HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE, SAM. YOUR FRIENDS. ARE NOT. MIND READERS.
-MR. LANCER GOING AFTER THE GHOST WITH THE FIRE EXTINGISHER LMAO
Tumblr media
-this outfit is everything . anytime the show does an over the top cutesty pink outfit i WANT IT. it looks like shit I wear JKASDHF I HAVE a bow like that and a pink sweater. I need leg warmers </3
-SAMS GOTTA RE-HALF-KILL HIM??? thats fucked up. but also, he finally got his logo!! it took until s2!!! this episode was lowkey very fucked and I felt like it glossed over a lot. does sam have guilt about like. kinda KILLING HIM?? I know, he also agreed and walked into the portal. but. she made the choice to redo it SO quickly (even if it was because someone had to beat desiree) and danny, during their fight, brought up a lot of stuff sam's done in the past, meaning he was holding onto those memories and resentment was building. (I KEEP SAYING HE LOWKEY NEEDS THERAPY, BUT I THINK MOST EVERYONE IN THIS SHOW KINDA DOES) which...is a red flag? and then they didnt even GO to the party URGH I know she tried to make up for it, but it really felt like Sam fucked up and barely faced any consequences and got everything she wanted in the end. I KNOW it's a kids show obv they aren't going to go too in depth, and she undid the damage, kinda, but...I DUNNO how to articulate it but it rubbed me the wrong way.
-but on a note about desiree, her powers of wishes were STRONG ENOUGH TO ERASE NOT JUST THEIR MEMORIES, BUT DANNY'S POWERS?! fuck, if I was danny I'd be like, trying to make friends with her. I know they always have horrible side effects as most genie-granted wishes do, but...c'mon, I'd at least TRY to be like 'I wish no ghosts would hurt anyone in my town' or 'I wish vlad would lose his ghost powers forever no matter What and also forget about my mom' LIKE. SHIT DESIREE IS SO POWERFUL. rewriting reality powerful, basically!! appreciate her. respect her.
-aww, sam helping tucker pass the nurse's office so he wouldn't see because he's afraid of medical stuff? very sweet. I also don't like medical stuff, I've gotten a lot better at handling it tho. but seeing blood and needles still makes me feel lightheaded x_x
-FOLEY, BY TUCKER FOLEY. I want to make my own perfume, that's so cool. even if his first attempt isn't good, he's pretty consistently shown to have an inventor/entrepreneur streak in the show, so like. I can see him inventing or making something (or several somethings) that make him $$$ when he grows up :) proud of my creative son
-I know the 'creepy abandoned hospital on the edge of town' is a joke and the creepy hospital trope is so Worn Out, but in my town we actually DO have a hospital like that! my dad was born in it, but its not in use and hasn't been for, like, 20 years! it needs to be torn down but I think the city doesn't wanna pay the money. the inside is horrible, spray painted and broken glass and shit everywhere. but there's still like, rusty equipment and fucking DOLLS all over the place. the cops drive by it pretty frequently to make sure no one is like, breaking in. (because of water damage, some of the areas really aren't safe. also, asbestos, but people still go in anyway) but also, some of my town was used in a filming for a stephen king show. So it's lowkey spooky all over. just a fun personal tidbit :) to lead into saying, any hospital abandoned for any period of time is NOT safe to quarantine these kids in JKSAHDKF like I KNOW it's a ghost trying to do this, but NONE of these parents are even like, 'well, why dont we keep them in the regular, working hospital'....YIKES. this hospital looks pretty accurate to the one in town. grungy and spooky.
-fentons are tax evaders confirmed by jack's fear of being audited, lol no one is surprised
-ghost sickness via ghost bugs. horrifying concept. I actually expected it to be a new villain, not dr. spectra again! this is a very elaborate scheme. her new form rules, love the new costume. the way none of the bg kids seem to recognize her as their old school councilor. did we just forget about that completely?
-dash watching romance movies in the fucked up ghost hospital. same.
-'oh please, you're ghosts, do you have any idea what YOU smell like?' no, tucker, what DO ghosts smell like? I genuinely didn't know they would even have a smell, I actually want to know now.
-it feels like a while since we've seen jazz!! i was happy to see her again, even if she was a head in a jar for most the episode. I want another jazz-focused ep!!
-we finally see danny doing space-related stuff!! him and his friends stargazing to open ep 3 of s2. cute :) until, GHOST PIRATES!!!!! ...ghost pirate captain is a small child?? VOICED BY TAYLOR LAUTNER???
-oh, the easy listening is ember's song instrumental slowed. 'vapor drone' THEY VAPORWAVED HER!!! ember in a pirate outfit tho >>>>. and the cruise being called m.bersback JKASDHJK. ember adopting a little pirate brother is also pretty cute. concerning this teen and little kid have such bad opinions of adults, like, who hurt you?? (how did you DIE ALSO?? im always lowkey curious about that. we know desiree died at an old age, but her ghost form is young, probably mid-20s, so I wonder how that sort of thing works...its a more mental thing, isn't it?) but ghost team-ups are always cool to see, even if ember bailed after danny took her guitar. I guess she probably thinks youngblood can handle it (which, he's been owning danny this far in the ep, so...fair)
-tucker got that sponsorship from nasty burger for their radio!!! again, opportunistic money maker king, love to see it!!!
-danny taking control of the kids SO FAST. he makes a pretty great leader. no one is surprised, im pretty sure I said I think he's the most mature of the trio, once again, correct, because he's taken on so much responsibility already. all the teens suiting up in the jumpsuits to go save the adults and taking the ship over with a BLIMP. OKAY LETS GO. this feels like it should be a mid finale or straight up finale.
-...speaking of finales. why is ep 4-5 of s2 combined into a 50 minute episode? I havent even clicked play and im concerned. weird placement, like, this season JUST started and we're getting a two parter? okay...why are the episodes placed like this? why not put this at episode 10 or something, for a mid-season thing?
Tumblr media
-this is also a cute dress. possibly my fav dress so far. can her parents give ME cute dresses, I'LL wear them.
-it turns out the castle fright knight was in is called pariah's keep and there's something worse than fright knight in there! lovely! fuck off vlad wtf are you doing <3 your hubris <3 is going to literally get you killed <3 'ring of rage' and 'crown of fire' are great names tho. ...vlad turning into a super polite guy when he was scared of mr. pariah was hilarious. and fright knight doing the same...I mean, it makes sense, he's a knight, he serves a king? happy to see fright knight again either way :) vlad telling him to call him tho, lmfao. you WISH HE WOULD. (I wish hed call me, too. 😔)
-so...jack being genuinely concerned about vlad...maddie really didn't tell him what happened at the cabin, did she. damn. if I was her id immediately come home and be like 'YOU WONT BELIEVE THIS SHITTTT THIS CREEPY GUY--' like, I feel like that stuff you need to tell your partner!!! I know she didnt want Jack to think she was an irresponsible parent putting danny in danger at that time, but STILLLL. maddie spilling boiling tea on him. get his ass. how is jack this oblivious to his wife's discomfort with vlad!! ughhh
-fenton wipe (tm). trademarked toilet paper.
-DANNY AND VALERIE BEING FRIENDS??? :D that was a cute moment. 'hey val <3' and 'if you like him like him, make a move, or someone else will ;)' at sam...damn!! I love her. valerie go for it girl!!! I hate how sam and tucker treat val also, like I GET IT YOURE PROTECTIVE AND DONT TRUST but if anything him befriending valerie will help when she finds out or he tells her like I feel like she'll be more understanding that they think! ALSO I feel like her reason for not liking ghosts is valid, like you haven't really explained the full story to her anyway! she doesn't seem to have any other friends after being booted from the a-listers so im like :( but seeing them kick butt together again was nice <3
-the ghosts all RUNNING FROM PARIAH DARK IS NOT GOOD, I thought he sent them to attack or something, but no. why doesn't someone just tell desiree 'hey i wish pariah dark would die' lol. once again I think she can solve every problem <3 but seeing all the enemies in one place, being civil and hiding together? love it.
-you just know danny's gonna have to clean up vlad's stupid mess. also, jack being willing to put on the ectoskeleton pants to help maddie, as soon as vlad heard it could kill him, he suggested jack do it instead of helping maddie himself? this is why jack got the girl, my man.
-ghost skeletons. how do you end up as a skeleton ghost in your afterlife instead of a humanoid like most the ones we've seen? lmao
-the ghosts just making new homes in various stores. I'd totally be setting up in an expensive clothing store if I was a ghost.
-valerie's dad is possibly the most useful adult so far, with that ghost shield expansion!!! and valerie saving vlad and danny, even tho shes been thru it already, shes still so good!!! this family rules.
Tumblr media
-danny: *gently caresses valerie* :)
-*then he immediately TELLS HER DAD ON HER. and his first response is 'are you okay?' :'( such a good dad...
-*me every time fright knight breathes* youre doing SO great sweetie :)
-the fenton suit thing is so silly looking. does anyone take this thing seriously
-ALL THE GHOSTS FIGHTING WITH DANNY <3 AAAAA. and the fact that pariah isn't perma-defeated, but just locked away again. yikes. he'll probably get out again, won't he? it wasn't too clear, but if vlad DID make a pact with fright knight, I am rabid. I will beat vlad to death with the fenton bat (tm). YOU DONT DESERVE A COOL KNIGHT.
-valerie being direct with sam and challenging her? kinda love that, even tho I normally don't like 'catfight' type situations. because sam has been very passive aggressive about it which is annoying. valerie knows wtf she wants and wasn't even embarrassed to tell sam, but she did tell her, giving sam time to make her own move! and sam denied it and got embarrassed/mad! and sam did have a chance when danny was about to go off and fight, and she hesitated and didn't tell him. I feel like she's hesitating because they're friends and it might make it weird between the trio (poor tucker would be third-wheeling) but if u snooze u lose, u gotta GO after what u WANT girl. smh this is a No Tsundere Zone. 😤

Doppelgänger (11/?)
Previously on Doppelgänger ~ Masterlist ~ Next time on Doppelgänger
Danny, Sam, and Tucker were just 14 when they took a look inside the portal Danny’s parents had built. From there, everything changed. They woke up with white hair, green skin, and powers they could learn to control. They were hybrids, halfas.
They were the hero Doppelgänger.
{Life Lessons, Part 3}
The two ghosts led Valerie through the Ghost Zone in a weaving path. They were going at a pace slower than she was used to when dealing with them, but still fast enough that Danny had to hold on to keep from falling off.
“You okay?” she asked when his grip tightened during a turn.
“Yeah, just not used to it.”
“Maybe I should take you flying with me some time,” she said, glancing back at him and was pleased to see his smile.
“Sounds fun.”
The trip was thankfully short and soon enough Valerie was following the ghosts through a swirling vortex, coming out in the Fentons’ lab.
“Last stop, home,” Danny joked as he hopped down.
“What was that?”
All four teens froze at the voice before the ghosts darted through the walls and Valerie retracted her suit. A moment later, Danny’s parents came running down the stairs.
“Danny!” his mom shrieked when she saw them and the two adults swooped in to hug him. “We’ve been so worried! Are you okay? Did that awful ghost hurt you?”
“I’m-Mom, I’m-I’m okay! I-Dad, I can’t breath!”
The two pulled away and his mom held him at arm’s length to look him over. “You’re sure you’re okay?”
“I’m fine, mom. Really.”
She didn’t look convinced, but turned to the other teen. “Valerie Gray, right? Are you okay?”
“Uh, yes ma’am,” she said, blinking. “Um, how did you know…”
“Your boss saw you and Danny get attacked and called it in,” Mrs. Fenton explained. “We tried to track it, but we found out this morning that it managed to get back to the zone somehow without using our portal. We were just preparing the speeder so we could come find you.”
“But you managed to escape on your own,” Mr. Fenton said, slapping Danny on the back hard enough that he stumbled forward. “That’s our boy!”
“The ghost didn’t hurt you?” Mrs. Fenton asked, looking Valerie over as she’d done Danny.
“No. He was some sort of collector or something. He just stuck us in a cage, like zoo animals,” Danny said.
“Well, I suppose that’s better than the alternative. I still want to be sure, though. Jack, why don’t you call Damon and the police and tell them the kids are back.”
“Yes, dear.” Mr. Fenton ruffled Danny’s hair then ran upstairs.
Mrs. Fenton checked them both thoroughly for injuries then grabbed what she referred to as a first aid kit, but turned out to be a large toolbox full of medical equipment. She used it to check their eyes, lungs, and heart before measuring any ectoplasmic radiation they were giving off.
“A 0.3er,” she read off after scanning Valerie. When she saw the girl’s curious expression, she explained, “Lower than I would have thought, which is good. It’s a completely healthy reading. It also means the atmospheric ecto-rad level of the Ghost Zone might be lower than we were expecting.” She then turned to Danny and scanned him. “A 1.18er.”
“Is that bad?” Valerie asked, worried.
Danny shook his head. “I run hotter than most. My whole family does, really, but I got into an accident a few months back so I run even hotter. That’s not much higher than my usual.”
“We don’t start worrying until a person’s ecto-rad level reaches 1.5er,” Mrs. Fenton added. “That’s when ectoplasm starts to negatively affect a human’s body.”
“Mom, Mr. Gray is here,” Danny’s sister said, poking her head in. Her eyes widened. “Danny!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Danny gave a pleased sigh as he cuddled up between his partners.
“Sorry it took us so long to find you,” Sam said, squeezing him.
He kissed her cheek. “It’s not your fault. Besides, it was kind of fun tormenting Skulker. I think he was actually tempted to send us back towards the end there.”
“Only you would think annoying the crud out of the homicidal ghost keeping you prisoner was a good idea,” Tucker chuckled, nuzzling into his neck.
“That’s why you love me!” Danny nuzzled him back. “How did you guys find us?”
“Someone found video footage of Skulker going through that random portal on their CCTV camera and turned it over to the police,” Sam explained. “Jazz told us when they were bringing in your parents to see the video so we were able to come along invisibly.”
“Weird as it is, Jazz is probably the hero this time,” Tucker said. “She also got you and Val an A on your baby assignment.”
“Wait, seriously?”
“Yeah, she came by that night and told us you were missing, then took both sacks with her. Said something about giving us time to process.”
“Which was good because we were up all night trying to find you.”
“Then the next morning after she gave us ours back she went to Tetslaff and explained what had happened. We don’t know what she said, but she turned in the sack and when Tetslaff handed out grades, she said you’d get As for trusting someone so responsible and mature to babysit for you.”
“Wow, score one for teacher’s pet Jazz. Maybe we should bring her in on the secret.”
“You’re kidding, right?” Sam snorted.
“She’s even more overprotective of you than you are of anyone. She’d never leave us alone,” Tucker huffed.
Danny’s nose scrunched up as he remembered how Jazz had hovered over him for two months after his parents had accidentally left him at the Christmas tree lot when he was six. “Yeah, okay, that’s fair. I’ll have to do something nice for Jazz, though. So how’d you guys do on the baby thing anyways?”
Sam smirked. “Well, I got an A.”
Tucker grumbled something and pressed further into Danny’s neck.
{The Million Dollar Ghost}
“Thanks for covering for me, Sam,” Danny said as he scrubbed ectoplasm off the lab’s floor. “There’s no way I’d have been able to get my chores done with all the extra work Lancer assigned me.”
“It’s fine. As long as we cover the next poetry night.”
“I will.”
“Did we charge the bazooka already?”
“Yes, Mom.”
“Did we change the ecto-filtrator?”
Danny paused then went to do just that.
“We’d be lost without us,” Sam chuckled. “Did we talk to our dad about showing up at school?”
“Jazz and Mom were taking care of it when -”
“GUYS!”
“Tuck?”
“Volume!”
“Did you hear?” Tucker said, thankfully quieter.
“Hear what?”
“Turn on the tv! Amity news!”
“We’re on patrol,” Sam said as Danny went to the lab’s tv.
“Switching to FaceTime.”
“-etent, non-Jack Fenton ghost hunters in Amity Park has never been more obvious,” the news anchor was saying while footage of his dad’s attack on Lancer played. It switched back to the anchor and she continued. “Luckily a mysterious benefactor has offered a million-dollar bounty on the head of Amity Park’s most famous ghost and invited the world’s best-known ghost hunters to track her down.”
Danny’s jaw dropped as a picture of Tucker in ghost form appeared onscreen. “What?”
“Who on earth would place a bounty on us?”
“Besides Valerie, but we know she doesn’t have that kind of money,” Tucker added.
“Valerie wants to hunt us down herself, same for my parents,” Danny said. Then laughed. “Oh man, my dad is going to go crazy when he hears about this.”
“Dude, this is serious.”
“Aren't we worried? These are the best-known ghost hunters in the world!”
“Sam, they’re the best-known, they’re not the best,” he scoffed. “Trust me, I grew up around these people so I have a pretty good idea who’s going to show up. It will be great.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“We’ll admit, they don’t look threatening,” the trio said, watching the gathering of ghost hunters from atop a nearby building. “It’s actually kind of sad.”
“Tell me about it.” The trio flinched and turned to Valerie as she landed next to them.
“Hey. Hi. You here for the bounty?”
“Lucky for you, no.” She sat down on the edge next to them. “I don’t trust this bounty thing. I’m here for the same reason as you, the show. Danny said his dad would be here to show up the out-of-towners.”
The four watched as the Fenton parents ran over a pair of ATVs.
“And that’s only half the show.”
“What do you mean?”
“SAVE DOPPELGÄNGER!”
The four turned to see a horde of teenagers marching into the Nasty Burger parking lot, all waving signs saying things like, “Protect the ghost boy!”, “Freedom for the ghost girl!”, and even just their name or picture. Paulina and Dash were at the head of the charge with fierce looks on their faces.
“I found out the popular kids at my school were organizing a protest against the bounty.”
“Well, don’t we feel special.”
“Apparently Paulina and Dash, the most popular sophomores, both have crushes on you.”
“Yikes. Wow. We don’t know if we should be flattered or creeped out.”
“You’re dead. It’s creepy.”
“Rude. Do they think we’re a guy or a girl?”
“Dash is adamant you’re a girl. Probably to soothe his poor straight heart. Paulina thought you were a guy, but I think my friend Star said something to her after I let it slip you might be non-binary because she’s been using they pronouns lately.”
“That’s… more forward-thinking than I assumed she could be. Given she’s the popular type.”
“She’s bi. As long as you weren’t femme, she would have been game.”
“Oh.”
“She’s still in the closet, so don’t say anything to anyone.”
“We won’t.”
Screams sounded over the arguing and the four looked back to the crowd to see a trio of bird ghosts dive-bombing the hunters.
“Those are Plasmius’s vultures. Should have known he was behind this whole thing.”
“Plasmius,” Valerie asked.
“A fruit loop of a ghost.”
“Let me guess, he hates you too?”
“Worse, he wants us as his kid. Tried to kill our dad and kidnapped our mom once.”
“Seriously?”
“Unfortunately. Do you mind taking care of this? The out-of-towners are idiots, but we’d rather not test the Fentons.”
She shrugged and climbed to her feet. They watched her drop down and start firing on the birds until a voice sounded behind them.
“Not going to lend your father a hand, Daniel?”
The trio turned to see Vlad floating behind them.
“Wow, you look even stupider than we sai-remember. You do realize the modern interpretation of vampires is a hot person, right?”
“I see you’ve been working on your duplication then,” he said with a scowl. “You do realize you don’t have to talk together, don’t you ?”
“You do realize there are better uses for your time than bothering a teenager, don’t you? Shouldn't you be getting home to the love of your life? Oh, that’s right! Our dad married the love of your life. We’re trying to watch the show, do you mind?”
Vlad scowled and fired on them.
“Should we really be teasing the older, stronger half-ghost? Well, we do outnumber him.”
Vlad split in three.
“Now we don’t.”
Sam raised a shield around her and Tucker while he grabbed onto the GAV’s controls and used it to fire on Vlad. Meanwhile, Danny put his speed to use diving around the three Vlad’s.
“You’ve gotten better,” one Vlad said as Danny curled around his blast, a bit of frustration leaking into his voice.
“And you’ve gotten worse,” they said.
Was it just Danny or were the Vlad’s slower and weaker than usual? Did duplication cut their power?
Interesting, and good to know for Sam.
A green blast flew by and Danny looked down to see they’d gotten the hunters’ attention.
Danny turned back to the Vlads and fired at the one closest to him. A pink blast joined his and the Vlad disappeared.
“Your stalker?” Valerie asked.
“Yup.”
“I believe that’s my cue to leave,” a Vlad said and they teleported away.
“And ours,” the trio said as a few more of the hunters’ blasts flew past them.
Valerie turned her blaster towards Danny, who raised his hands. “Thought you weren’t going for the bounty.”
“I’m not. This is for me.”
Sam and Tucker shot away as Danny flew down towards the crowd, distracting all the hunters and waving at their fans before he dove straight into the ground. He came up in an alley where his partners were waiting and all three transformed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I knew there was something sketchy about this mess,” Valerie said as she looked over her pistol. “I didn’t think a ghost would be the one placing the bounty though.”
“Ghost?” Danny said, coming back over with a now-empty thermos.
“Yeah, some enemy of the ghost kid. They said he wants them as his kid, but I don’t even know how that works for ghosts.”
“No clue. Maybe he’s just insane.”
“Probably.”
Valerie’s phone went off and she pulled it out. “There’s an attack downtown.”
He leaned in as she brought up a live feed.
A large, t-rex-looking ghost was stomping through the street. Sam and Tucker were already there, firing on its head. The hunters, Danny’s parents included, could be seen chasing them in the background.
“You going to join them?” Danny asked, pulling back and grabbing Valerie’s grenade launcher. His partners looked like they had it and they’d give him a call if they didn’t.
“And risk getting into another ghost discussion with those pathetic excuses for hunters? Pass.”
“You should see them at one of the conventions.”
The two worked in silence until Danny’s ghost sense went off and a device on the counter next to them started beeping.
“Ghost?” Danny grabbed it and checked it. “It shouldn’t be picking up the fight from here.”
Valerie loaded the cartridge back into her pistol while Danny grabbed the only other operational weapons on the table, the thermos and Fenton Ghost Gloves.
The vultures flew through the ceiling, then froze. “You should not be here.”
Valerie blasted all three in the face.
Danny grabbed one in one hand and sucked the second into the thermos with the other before they could recover. The third dodged around another blast from Valerie, only for the Jack o' Nine Tails to come shooting out of the stairs and wrap around it.
Jazz slammed it into the floor as she came into the lab. “You guys okay?”
“We’re fine,” Danny said, sucking the last two into the thermos. “You?”
“Fine. I was just heading into the kitchen to grab a snack and saw them flying by.” She watched as Danny went to empty the thermos, then turned to Valerie. “What are you guys doing down here?”
“Well now, isn’t this a surprise?”
The teens looked up to see Vlad hovering over the lab.
“Great, another uninvited guest,” Danny groaned.
The ghost turned to him in shock. “Daniel?”
He raised an eyebrow. “Do I know you?”
Valerie shot Vlad before he could do anything else.
Jazz tried to grab him with the nine tails, but he caught it out of the air and yanked it away from her. Danny used the distraction to punch him in the back. He smirked down at the gauntlets when the older halfa was sent into the wall.
Valerie slid up to his side as Jazz grabbed the Fenton Foamer off a table and blasted Vlad. “Trade you.”
Knowing from personal -- bruising -- experience that Valerie was better at hand-to-hand, Danny passed her the gauntlets and took the pistol.
The kids didn’t give Vlad a chance to breathe, switching quickly between Valerie beating him into the ground and the Fentons shooting him out of the air. Soon enough, Danny was opening the portal so Valerie could toss him through.
“And don’t come back!” he yelled before shutting it. He turned and smiled at Valerie before meeting Jazz’s eyes. “Mom and Dad never hear of this?”
“Agreed.”
Dash Baxter is suppose to be based off of Flash Thompson from Spiderman. Both are jocks, both are blonde, and both bully the main hero.
But like Flash is to Spiderman. Dash is a fan of Danny Phantom. Having a huge respect for him.
This is proven when Danny reveals his identity to them and Dash along with Kwan and Paulina help him out.
I fucking love this. By that logic. Then other aspects of Flash, Dash would also have. Here are a list of ideas now.
If at any chance Dash gets superpowers. He will become a superhero. And fight crime. This will also make him change his ways as a bully because he'll realize how he was in the wrong.
If the ending of the series didn't happen but Dash did find out about Fenton being Phantom. He would become Danny's best friend and would insist on helping him save the day. Treat him like a brother at times.
If anything were to happen to Danny's family. Dash would be sympathetic and would try to comfort him about it. Especially if it was Jazz sense he has a mega crush on her.
But despite having every reason to tell Kwan, Paulina, or Star the secret about Danny. He wouldn't. And to keep the act up so people don't figure things up. He would playfully "bully" Danny in school. Never hurting him. Never anything gross or over the top. He would call Danny a dipshit, and Danny would playfully call him asshole, then Dash will smile and say "You got me." And walk away pleased.
And lastly when it comes to Wes. Dash is Danny's number one dude to call when he needs Wes off his back or just wants to fuck with him. Without fucking with him. He'd just have to text Dash and he will run to Danny's house, find Wes whose spying on him, and annoy the fuck out of him.
There is a lot more that could be added that I forgot. But the though is beautiful and I'm for sure gonna use it.
Frigid (Chapter 1)
Danny Phantom fanfic
Genre: Horror, Angst, Enemies to Friends
Fic Rating: M (Language, Underage Drug Use, Violence and Gore)
Summary: Wes and his brother Kyle have just moved to Amity Park. Wes is only worried about fitting in, but all the ghost nonsense is making that harder and harder. Something weird is going on in this place, and his chemistry lab partner is no different. Seriously, what the hell was up with the Fenton kid and why did everyone ignore it?
Danny is a junior in high school, and pressure is squeezing in on all sides. Keeping good enough grades to graduate, and dealing with the snoopy new kid wasn't bad enough, but he's starting to feel like his parents are getting closer to figuring out his secret. Jazz is off at college and he didn't realize just how helpful it was when she was home to cover for him.
Danny's been able to keep his secret at school for one reason, and that's that no one cares to watch him close enough to connect the dots. Wes is different.
"The air is different here," Wes said, looking up at the swath of stars across the sky. Kyle exhaled a plume of smoke that clouded the view.
"Shit. Don't get all poetic on me now." Kyle coughed his way into a laugh and Wes kicked his shin just hard enough to hurt.
"Ow!"
"Shut up dude, I mean it's colder here. More humid or something too."
"Yeah, definitely nothing like home." Kyle swung his legs back and forth off the brow of the roof. "How was your first day of school btdubs?" He offered Wes the joint pinched between his fingers. Wes waved him off.
"Thrilling, nothin' like being the new kid," he said.
Kyle shrugged and took another hit.
“‘S not so bad, my day was chill,” he croaked out while trying to keep his breath held in.
Wes scrunched his nose at the smell. “Jesus dude, that stuff smells worse than normal.”
“Yeah—” he puffed out the cloud of smoke “—the shit here isn’t as good. Missin’ that green triangle right about now.” Kyle let out a wistful sigh. Wes almost wanted to ask how he’d found a dealer already, but it was Kyle. He always found someone. It was like his supernatural ability to sniff out someone who’d sell to minors.
 “Anyway, basketball tryouts are at the end of the week, right? Cheer up my man, you’ll get mad chicks once you make the team.” Wes shot him a glare. Getting chicks was the last thing on his mind. He was more preoccupied with the fact their dad uprooted their entire lives to move to fucking Illinois. Illinois!
“Whatever dude.” There was a brief silence, before Kyle bumped his shoulder into him. He took another deep drag off his joint, the static burn filling the air like white noise. The stars continued to glimmer coldly in the sky, and it sent a pang of homesickness through him. It was bullshit.
“Any classes you like?”
“Psh. Hardly… Well. There’s a photography class—”
“Didn’t you mention something about chem at lunch?”
“Oh. That.” Wes started to get angry just thinking about it. “Yeah. Chemistry two. Apparently we have to have a lab partner for the whole semester. Which wouldn't be a big deal but I got stuck paired with a dude that’s ‘banned for life’ from using the chem equipment.” He used his fingers for the air quotes. “So I’m probably gonna have to do everything.”
Kyle took a breath like he was about to say something, but Wes pressed on. “What the hell do you even have to do to get banned for life from using the chemistry stuff?”
“Dude! Maybe your partner got busted for making drugs! That Breaking Bad kinda shit! That’d get him banned fer sure fer sure.” His words slurred around the edges.
Wes almost laughed. “You’re high Kyle. If you saw him you’d understand. This guy isn’t a drug lord, trust me, he’s a twig. No way he’d be involved in anything dangerous. If that guy does anything more exciting than video games I’d eat your hat.”
Kyle gasped. “Brooo!”
“What?”
“Somthin’ to eat sounds wicked. Wanna swing by that... Nasty place, what’zit called? We saw it on the way in.”
Wes rolled his eyes and heaved a sigh.
“Nasty Burger?”
“Nasty Burger!”
“As a majority of you are aware, it’s a new school year, which means as per new school district regulation it’s time to report to the gym for the annual ghost safety course, and later today at an unspecified time there will be a ghost drill.” Mr. Lancer droned at the front of the class. The other students around Wes all groaned like they’d been assigned a pop quiz, rather than that being the most batshit crazy thing they’d ever heard. Uh, what the hell? He raised his hand.
“Yes, Mr. Weston.”
“Did... you just say ghost safety course?” Kids around him chuckled and shared knowing looks. It was like he was on the other side of an inside joke.
“Regrettably so, Mr. Weston. Everyone single file to the gym please. Leave your bags here, you’ll be back before the third period,” Lancer said as he gestured to the door. Wes stayed sitting for a few seconds longer than the class, trying to make sense of what he’d just heard. Ghosts? Like actual ghosts?
“Hey, Fenturd, can’t wait to see how your parents fuck it up this year!” Wes turned towards the back of the classroom to see a tall broad shouldered guy, Dash if he remembered right, shoving past Danny Fenton, AKA his chem lab partner. Danny lurched to the side, stumbling into a desk. There were two other kids that Wes hadn’t seen before standing behind Danny, a goth girl and a dweeby kid in a beret.
“Bro, I still have the picture on my phone from when they couldn’t get Mr. Fenton out of that ghost netting,” said an equally massive asian guy. The small knot of kids around them all laughed and filed past Danny and his presumed friends. Danny was glaring daggers at the back of Dash’s head.
So… Danny’s parents were the guest speakers, and they were giving a talk on... ghost safety… Seriously, did anything here make sense? Wes followed after the crowd, trying to wrap his head around it. The odd trio started following a few paces back.
“Great. Just what I need to kick off the year again,” Wes heard Danny grumble.
“Oh come on Danny, It wasn’t that bad,” the goth girl said.
“Nah, it was pretty bad.”
“Tucker!”
“What?!”
Wes tried to continue listening to their conversation but the person in front of him turned around to look at him.
“You’re the new kid right?” She asked. She had long blonde hair and perfect makeup.
“Uh, yeah. Wes.”
“I hear you’re trying out for the basketball team, right?” A few of the popular kids walking in front of her glanced over their shoulders to look at Wes.
“Y-yeah. I was point guard on my last team back home.”
“I don’t know what that means.” She tossed a lock of hair behind her shoulder. Her eyes were burning into him like she was personally judging where he fit into the social caste system of the school.  “But good luck. I’m Star, by the way. My boyfriend’s on the football team so don’t get any ideas.”
“Oh please Star, you’re like, totally out of his league, basketball team or not,” a new voice cut in from just in front of Star. Another girl with dark wavy hair turned to look at him. She had dark olive skin, almond eyes and thick eyelashes. “I’m Paulina, but I’m sure you’ve heard all about me already. People are kind of obsessed with me, they can’t help it.” She said it with a smile and a cute giggle to punctuate her sentences. He’d seen her in homeroom yesterday, and he knew right off the bat she was top of the hierarchy, her and Dash both seemed to have a pretty solid hold on their popularity. If he was going to survive here he needed to make sure they liked him, or at the very least had nothing bad to say about him.
“I can see why, it’s nice to meet you,” he said. The two girls shared a look, shrugged and turned their attention away from him.
He let go of the breath he’d been holding, feeling like he’d just passed some sort of test.  He’d never exactly been a popular kid. In elementary school he was small and easy to pick on. Unless Kyle was around, who had a nonchalant courage about him, even as a kid. It’d taken a lot of work for Wes to figure out how to fit in just under the radar of the big fish.
He stepped into the bustling gym along with the rest of the Junior homeroom class. The bleachers were pulled out, and the class dispersed to find their place to sit. Wes bobbed his head over the shoulders of other students looking for Kyle. It took some work but eventually his eyes landed on his brother. He was lounging, taking up two seats worth of space on the far left side of the bleachers. He made a beeline for him, and took the stairs two at a time. The clamor of the student body filled the room, and when he sat down he had to speak over it.
“Dude, can you believe this? A ghost assembly?” His brother had never been the most believing of the supernatural. But this place, openly acknowledging the presence of ghosts? He’d like to see Kyle try and refuse to believe now.
“Yeah man! This school must really love Halloween.”
And there it was.
“Kyle. It’s September.”
“And? Bro they got the Halloween decorations up at wally-world already, why not have a fun Halloween thing?” Wes frowned, and clicked his tongue. He propped his chin against his hand and watched as the school started to settle. His eyes wandered the rows until he found the goth girl. Danny and the kid she’d called Tucker were with her. They were sitting in the section over a row down. Danny had his hands stuffed into the pockets of his black NASA hoodie, and a pinched look on his face. He couldn’t exactly say he blamed the kid, the thought of his own dad showing up to give a presentation made him shiver in horror.
They’d set up a stage in the center of the gym. Principal Ishiyama stepped up to the podium, and tapped the mic.
“Hello students of Casper High! For incoming freshmen, allow me to officially extend a warm welcome, and to all returning students, welcome back!” She was way too chipper for the time of morning. “As many of you know we have to review some safety precautions. Now, this may not be new information but I expect you all to pay attention and be respectful regardless. With that, allow me to introduce local ghost experts: Jack and Maddie Fenton.” Ishiyama moved back, clapping for the guests. The crowd gave mixed reactions. Most people looked like they were only applauding out of awkwardness. Wes was definitely included in that category.
A man and woman with brightly colored… jumpsuits? Hazmat suits? Whatever they were, came forward. The man was intimidating from the pure size of him alone. Jesus christ, he looked like a NFL linebacker. Next to him, was a slight and fit woman. She spoke first, standing at the podium.
“Good morning everyone! My husband and I are honored to be welcomed back to run through the safety course with you kids!” Mrs. Fenton was peppy and direct with the way she spoke and the way she moved. “As of last year the manual ghost alarms were installed around the school.” Maddie motioned to the projector screen behind her that had been lowered from the ceiling. “As you can see here.” The picture on the projector showed huge red buttons ringed by yellow and black caution trim. Wes had seen them around before, but he’d figured they were for... tornados or something, they had those here right?
“If you see a ghost you are encouraged to press this button so that the school can evacuate and the correct professionals may be notified.”
“By that she means us!” Mr. Fenton shouted, popping up in front of the projector. She moved on as if the interruption hadn’t even happened.
“Whatever you do, do not engage with a ghost. Ghosts are highly dangerous. Even a low level ecto-entity can be a threat to your life and well-being!” Her voice was grave, and practically oozed with conviction. Wes looked over at Kyle, gesturing towards the stage, incredulous.
“Really? Nothing to say about this?”
“What can I say, they’re pretty dedicated. Dude, Wes, it might be an ARPG, like remember the Halo 2 ‘I love bees' thing?”
“I hate you. This isn’t even anything close to—”
“Shh!” Someone who sounded like a teacher hissed at them. He turned his attention back to the presentation, annoyed.
“Now, let’s go over what to do if you think you’ve been possessed or otherwise overshadowed by a ghost! First thing to look for are gaps in memory or consciousness. Changes in mood or violent tendencies can also occur. Keep an eye on your friends and loved ones. Remember that no one is immune to being overshadowed by a ghost, unless you purchase a Fenton Specter Deflector available on our website!” Almost out of nowhere, the woman pulled out what looked like a metal belt. There was silence in response, and she cleared her throat.
“If you or someone you know has been or is currently possessed please seek help immediately, go to your teachers or parents.” Wes watched as she moved on to the next subject, talking with the fervor and simplicity of an expert. Screw whatever Kyle said, this wasn’t just for shits and giggles or some halloween event. Something was different here. The other students, despite seeming bored, looked like they fully believed her. Maybe people here would actually believe him about what happened when he was a kid.
The hazy memories crept along his skin, making the hair on his arms stand on end. His dad told him he had an active imagination. He knew it wasn’t that.
“Finally, let’s go over what to do if a ghost fight breaks out!”
“A ghost fight?” he echoed, brows furrowing.
“As we’ve said, do not engage or interact with ghosts for any reason—”
“Hey, what about Phantom?” Someone from the crowd shouted. A murmur of agreement rippled through the students.
“Who’s Phantom?” He wondered out loud, and a guy sitting in front of him turned to give him an affronted look.
“We strongly discourage interacting with Phantom especially! When it comes to ghosts, it’s simple. There are no good ghosts! Ghosts are ectoplasmic post-human impressions driven only by their obsession! They are not human and don’t care about the havoc they wreak.”
The crowd murmured again, the disapproval evident. A few kids shouted unintelligible things, but they sounded defensive. Wes didn’t get it, the Fenton lady seemed to know her shit, why argue?
“Quiet! Quiet please!” Ishiyama called over the voices. Eventually the students settled, and the Fentons wrapped up their presentation. Everyone seemed disappointed that nothing embarrassing happened, until Mr. Fenton underestimated the height of the stage, and face planted onto the gym floor. The students broke into an uproar of laughter, and Ishiyama rushed to the mic to dismiss everyone back to homeroom. Wes couldn’t hold back a laugh, and glanced over to see Danny hunching up his shoulders. If Wes had to describe someone that looked like they wanted to disappear, it would be Danny in that moment.
The walk back to the classroom was uneventful, though he was pretty sure he heard Mrs. Fenton repeatedly calling out “Danny sweetie!” Wes was really glad he wasn’t that poor bastard, talk about humiliating. He tried to ignore the pang that twisted inside his stomach. Still, it must be nice to have a mom around.
Fifth period started in four minutes, and Wes was stuck fiddling with the lock on his locker. The damn thing looked like it’d been fished off the titanic. The wheel made an awful squealing noise when he twisted it, and even when the lock popped, he had to yank on it to get it to unlatch all the way. He put in his combo for the third time and pulled. It came undone and if it weren’t for holes on the handle he’d have gone stumbling backwards. He opened the locker and was just about to grab his History textbook, when an ear splitting alarm blasted from the overhead speakers. He jumped and spun around, hands coming up to cover his ears.
It wasn’t like a fire alarm, instead of the shrill school bell ringing, it was a long whooping siren that echoed up and down the halls like a nuclear strike was incoming. Wes had to hand it to them, it sounded creepy as fuck. The emergency lights flashed in the hallways, and the kids around him started to make for the exits.
“Your attention please,” an automated female voice came over the speaker, offering  a brief respite from the siren. “A ghost has been sighted in the building. Please evacuate or get to safety as soon as possible.” Holy shit, was this really happening? The siren began its wailing again. His heart thundered in his chest, and he looked both ways up and down the hall. He didn’t see anything, except for Lancer standing at the end of the hall, directing students to an emergency exit. Wes remembered then that Lancer had said something about a “ghost drill”. Of course that’s what this was. Just a drill. Wes let out a shaky breath, and went to close up his locker before he headed out.
Which in retrospect wasn’t the greatest idea. In less than a second, something changed. The hall felt darker, and the air grew cold. Not cold like someone left the window open, cold like he’d just walked into a meat freezer. It prickled against his skin, and he felt a deep sense of dread sink to the bottom of his stomach.
“Little lamb…” Murmured a soft voice. It echoed up the hall, and Wes forced himself to turn and look. He shouldn’t have, he really shouldn’t have. It was the shape of a woman, but she was floating a foot off the ground. She had stringy hair, and bangs that partially covered her empty eyes. In her hand looked like a shepherd's crook. Wes slammed his back against his locker, his knees locking up. He felt his hands start to tremble. Not again, he didn’t want the nightmares again.
The hall was empty, the last few terrified kids were gone.
“Little lamb... separated from the herd… Don’t you know there’s predators?” Her voice echoed unnaturally, it’s clarity sending chills across his skin. She was hardly speaking above a whisper, but it was rough and cracked, like something had happened to her voice. But the thing that was worse was even at barely a whisper, he could somehow hear her over the sirens. Like she was right next to him breathing the words into his ears.
The alarm cut out and the automated message looped. The woman—ghost lifted her crook to point at him. “Little lambs have to come back home,” she said. The sound of panting and low growling filled the hall. A green shape, low and lean flew out from behind her. It closed the gap between them in three strides flat. It’s eyes glowed red, and white teeth slavered toxic green. Wes’ voice stuck in his throat and he couldn’t scream, he squeezed his eyes shut and hoped he’d wake up.
Wes felt the air stir in front of him, and he heard a meaty crunch followed by a deafening caterwaul. His eyes flashed open to see the mountain lion-like creature picking itself up off the ground on the other side of the hall. And directly in front of him, it was another human shape, another ghost. They had white hair and a black jumpsuit on.
“Bad kitty! What, did someone forget the catnip?” It was a guy’s voice that echoed around the hall. The shape cast a glance over his shoulder at Wes. He gulped down a breath, it was a boy about his age. His eyes glowed the same neon toxic green that painted the hall in its supernatural light. He looked like he was about to say something, when the big cat hurled itself at his flank. Its massive front paws slammed into his midsection and they disappeared into the wall.
The shepherd moved towards him, and Wes felt like he was going to pass out or throw up. Maybe both, both sounded okay. She was focused entirely on him as she drifted over the floor. She was four feet away, and the expression etched onto her dead face made his stomach twist. This was worse, this was way worse than even the nightmares. Her empty eyes leaked tears.
“It’s dangerous. There’s predators.” She lifted a hand like she was trying to reach for him. A blast of green light suddenly filled his vision, and the girl let out a scream. She was slammed backwards into a set of lockers and she slipped down to the ground. Wes’ gaze snapped to where the blast of energy had come from and saw the ghost boy. He was floating six feet off the ground, and his right hand was glowing green. He had a long deep slash across his side that was oozing and dripping globby green ectoplasm.
“I’ve never seen you before,” he said. “What do you want?” his tone of voice was firm and sharp, it felt like ice. The girl looked up at the boy. She opened her mouth and screamed. It was a raw terrible thing that petered off into an agonized gurgle. The ghost boy arched a brow, but before he could say anything else the Shepherd melted into the wall.
“Shit,” the ghost puffed. He turned his eyes to Wes and he stiffened again. Right, he wasn’t exactly out of the woods yet. “You must be new here. Piece of advice, run away next time, okay dude?” The ghost boy looked up at the ceiling that still had the alarms blaring and rolled his eyes. In the next instant he shot through the wall where the shepherd ghost had disappeared.
Wes let out a breath and sunk to the floor, shivering from head to toe. What the hell was that?
