“Good job.”
I hate the phrase “Good job.”  I hated it years before I ever saw Whiplash.
While I disagree with Terrence Fletcher’s abusive behavior,  I absolutely and unapologetically agree with his philosophy concerning becoming the best you can be.
youtube
Andrew:  “But is there a line?  You know, maybe you go too far and you discourage the next Charlie Parker from becoming Charlie Parker?”
Fletcher:  “No, man, no.  Because the next Charlie Parker would never be discouraged.”
For those who’ve never heard Charlie Parker play.
youtube
Note: the movie takes some liberties with the facts about the cutting session.  Jo Jones didn’t throw the cymbal at Parker’s head, but on the floor.  This was typical to get a bad musician off the stage.
