One Quiet Night is a solo acoustic guitar album by Pat Metheny that won the Grammy Award for Best New Age Album in 2004. He recorded the album at his home studio on a baritone guitar built for him by Linda Manzer.
Today we have a well cared for 1950 Gibson L-7CE Arch Top Guitar! It comes with its original case, hang tag and factory #mccartypickup . Link in our profile. - This is a factory L-7CE ("E" for electric) as confirmed by the original hang tag still in the case. The other features on this L-7C are the same as the standard acoustic model and typical for the period. The neck is maple with a center laminate, the top is carved spruce and the rim and back are maple. The neck and headstock are single bound, with triple binding on the top and back. The pearl inlay is a parallelogram pattern on the rosewood fingerboard with Gibson's traditional crown on the headstock. - - - - - #retrofretvintageguitars #vintagearchtop #vintageguitar #guitarsofinstagram #archtopguitar #gibsonl7ce #gibsonarchtopguitar #vintageacousticguitars #guitarforsale #gibsonsofinstagram #vintagearchtop #guitarlove #guitars #guitarworld #guitardaily #guitarsofinstagram #guitargasm #jazzguitar #gibsonlover #gibsonl7c #jazzguitars #vintagegibson #swingguitar #gibsonguitar #gibson #gibsonarchtop https://www.instagram.com/p/CnNDHMBOMh8/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
A super special ES-WednESday with renowned Toronto luthier and all 'round good guy @alastair_miller's 1961 #Gibson #ES175 D. The tarnished nickel covers on those PAFs is a macro photographer's dream. Also dig the half-n-half saddles on the ABR1!
Photographed at last weekend's Union Sound "Tone-O-Rama" extravaganza hosted by @chriswstringer8.
A lot has happened since I started teaching at #northernillinoisuniversity five years ago…
Last year, I received tenure, and this summer I was published for the first time in #asalhbhm. I also recently finished a chapter to be published in a musical instruction book.
I am looking forward to the new opportunities this year will bring!
Here is a beautiful and rare classic vintage Arch Top that we seldom see and at this writing is still available. It is a blonde 1940 Stromberg Deluxe Arch Top Acoustic Guitar! - I’ll put the link in our profile so you can read all about its very interesting history. Here’s your chance! - All Stromberg guitars are rare; older published estimates run around 600 made, but recent analysis shows the serial numbers appear to start at 300, so the total is likely less than 350 guitars ever built, likely 150 or fewer with a carved, single brace top. Each is a unique gem. This 17 1/2" Deluxe is earlier to handle than the 19" Master 400 but a far superior instrument to the earlier 16" and 17" models that lack a carved top. This blonde beauty is the top 1940 Stromberg model that was NOT 19" wide, a size some players find awkward. The sound is very powerful but sweeter than many larger models; it has more richness to the tone than many Strombergs are credited with and is a worthy challenger to any pre-war L-5, Epiphone Deluxe or (dare we say it?) D'Angelico Excel. Even many experienced players have never encountered a genuine 1940s Stromberg; we find this one enchanting and a pure pleasure to play. - - - - - #retrofretvintageguitars #guitar #vintageguitar #guitarsofinstagram #archtopguitar #vintageacousticguitars #guitarforsale #gibsonsofinstagram #vintagearchtop #guitarlove #guitars #guitarworld #guitardaily #guitarsofinstagram #guitargasm #jazzguitar #jazzguitars #swingguitar #strombergguitar #strombergguitars #elmerstromberg #madeinboston #handmadeguitars #freddiegreen #rareinstrument #rareguitar (at Retrofret Vintage Guitars) https://www.instagram.com/p/CmCLLTjurKe/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
