Welcome to fanfic rec friday where I rec whatever fic I’ve read over the week to you all. Sorry I haven’t been around much I’ve been working and slightly dying.

Anyway. this is your classic pre canon soulmate au, it’s still in progress which is exciting and the author is lovely if anyone knows her tumblr plz tag her.

It’s excellently written and does an amazing job with portraying how soulmates might exist in a fright zone situation. I loved every word of it now you go read it so we can think about how dumb catra and adora are for not realizing their total gayness immediately together.

Yes sure! I tried to put newer fics first and the popular fics last.

The Stars that Lead Us Home by Asphyxia Catra opens the portal and ends up five years into the future. Glimmer shines in the fic, like in a lot of canon divergent fics she is antagonistic towards Catra/Adora but here she’s very supportive to both of them and I really liked it! The art is really nice too. (Not complete yet)

Empty-handed, Facing Death by Cheesybiscuit A save the cat time loop story. Prepare for the angst. (Not complete yet)

By the Glint of a Sword by Thericeraven Post s3/early s4 Catra loses her memory in battle and gets back to Brightmoon. I'm a sucker for memory loss fics. (Not complete yet)

Coffee Cat by Hubris_Plus Catra leaves the Horde before s1 and gets a lizard mom + works in a coffee shop. It's so good. (Not complete yet)

Please, Just This Once, Stay by lydiadeetz03 Prime kidnaps Adora in the Heart and chips her. The BFS must save her. Chipped Adora is so rare, this fic is really nice. (Not complete yet)

Coming home to you (with my own blood in my mouth) by October_sky Catra vanishes in the portal. Adora has to deal with the fallout. I can't praise this story enough it's so good. (Not complete yet)

Lost (i'll forget you now) by wiinterchild S4 Catra leaves the Horde and gets a redemption journey through Etheria and ends up in the Crimson Waste. Very Catra centric but I really enjoyed it. (First part of the series is complete, the other part isn’t posted yet)

An Unbroken Promise by Pencilxpaper Shadow Weaver allows Adora to take her squad to Thaymor. So they never sneak out and Adora never finds the sword. She stays in the Horde. I really love this fic. (Complete)

Evermore series by Aswellingstorm Catra gets send to Beast Island and gains a family (Brightmoon fam). This series is amazing. (Complete)

Wicked Games by Petty_Labelle Post s4 Catra is the Horde lord, Adora tricks her in an accidental marriage to end the war. An amazing fic! (Complete)

Where we wander, where we conquer by chellethewriter Post s1 Hordak sends Catra and Adora to the Crimson Waste. A fantastic fic. (Complete)

My favorite -- by far -- "what if" alternate timeline AU for Catradora has been completed! I really recommend it.

Two events are changed at the end of S4: Catra kills Hordak, and Horde Prime's arrival on Etheria is delayed. This is used as a springboard for Catra and Adora meeting when Catra is demolished, at her very lowest point; the trail they take after that is worthy of a novel -- and that novel is You Should See Me In A Crown.

Today’s Fic is You Should See Me In A Crown by JazzKat1213 ( @tillykitty10) and it was updated on the 25th.

it’s a hurt/comfort canon au where Horde Prime takes his time getting to Etheria so Catra is taken “prisoner” by the rebellion. It’s incredibly angsty and well written with a care and intelligent view of catra’s recovery and redemption. It also has one of my favorite lines in catradora fanfic.

“All she knows is that she wants to replace every pain-soaked memory from her childhood with this moment; Adora defending her again, Adora growling at Shadow Weaver full of righteous fury for her.”

I literally think about that line daily. Fucking read this and then scream to me about it.
