💶An expensive fantasy made by platinum and gold bronze - 📌Platinum Cabinet in La Casa del Labrador, Aranjuez. Commissioned by Charles IV in 1800, a “troupe” of big masters took part in this project. The first proposals were developed by the bronchist Michel-Léonard Sitel. From this moment, he delegated the different parts to different artists. The Parisian Charles Percier designed and directed the construcion. We can see the elevations on the “Reccueil de décorations intérieures” of 1812. The boiseries were carved by the cabinetmaker Jacob, and the bronzes and platinum pieces by Pierre-Auguste Forestier. The walls were painted by three important painters: the allegories to the seasons and to the love, science and music (in the medallions) by Anne-Louis Girodet. Jean-Joseph-Xavier Bidauld painted different landscapes, again alluding to the seasons. Finally, Jean-Thomas Thibault painted the urban views of Florence, Venice, the Vesuvius, and the Louvre. Beaupré made the expensive mirrors of the walls. The furniture in this room was made by Xavier Hindermeyer. @patrimnacional (en Casa del Labrador) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPgmNw8Hkwq/?utm_medium=tumblr
