Shoutout to swgalaxyjyn on TikTok, I love all of their content but mostly the merrical content!
It’s been months since I’ve played Jedi survivor, I do plan on getting back on in the coming weeks and finishing my NG+ Grandmaster, Purity run!
Here’s a few old shots of Cal & Merrin until I take some new shots!

Do the Jedi know more than they’re letting on?
I’d like to talk about a theory I’ve been working on, regarding Jedi secrets.
Tumblr media
I’m sure you all remember Qui-Gon Jinn getting attacked by a clearly lightsaber trained assassin, identified to the audience by that point as Darth Maul.
Tumblr media
And presenting his (correct) theory to the Jedi High Council, upon returning to the temple on Coruscant.
Tumblr media
At first they dismiss it, because the Sith, as noted by Ki-Adi-Mundi, AKA Jedi Master Potato-Head, the Sith were supposedly wiped out during a war a thousand years earlier. Sadly, they are forced to conclude that Jinn’s theory was correct, after his death.
Tumblr media
Now here’s where things get sus. During the funeral, Yoda notes that there are always two Sith. Now at the time, this likely just meant that at their height, the Sith operated in master and apprentice pairs, same as the Jedi. But then, as the Sith were fleshed out in expanded materials, we learn that Yoda was referring to the Rule of Two.
Tumblr media
Darth Bane, the last surviving Sith, established the Rule of Two moving forward, in order to prevent the in-fighting that hampered the Sith’s efforts against the Jedi, as well as take advantage of it, with a focus on quality over quantity.
The Rule of Two states that there shall only ever be two Sith at a time. A master and a single apprentice, who will only become a master themselves when they’re able to kill their predecessor, and then take on an apprentice of their own.
Tumblr media
Admittedly, a few Sith Masters (most notably Palpatine/Darth Sidious) have bent this rule by training Sith Assassins, Acolytes, and Inquisitors to serve as manpower and as candidates for the next apprentice, but the Rule of Two has served as doctrine for the Sith for the last millennium.
Tumblr media
Now the problem here is that Bane was a survivor of the aforementioned war, and therefore established the Rule of Two after the point where the Jedi believe that the Sith were driven to extinction.
So, how the hell do they know about it?!
Tumblr media
To return to the council meeting, you’ll note that Jedi Master Potato-Head is the only one who outright dismisses the possibility. Mace Windu is skeptical, not of their survival, but of them returning (or becoming active again) without the Jedi noticing, while Yoda initially stays silent, before countering that the dark side might be easier to miss than Windu believes.
Tumblr media
My theory, this isn’t the first time the Jedi have encountered the Sith in the last thousand years. Even if we assume that the Rule of Two cycle was carried out two to three times a century, that’s still between twenty and thirty Sith masters, and who knows how many failed apprentices like Maul. What are the odds that none of them had a run in with the Jedi, in all that time, that didn’t leave a Jedi survivor? What are the odds that no masters tried to corrupt a Jedi into becoming their apprentice and failed, alerting the Jedi?
Tumblr media
Windu and Yoda are the Master of the Order and Grandmaster, respectively, which are basically the two highest positions it’s possible to reach in the Order. If anyone’s going to have access to the secrets that the Jedi Order has chosen to suppress, even from the other council members, it’s them, especially given Yoda’s long lifespan, he likely had a few firsthand experiences.
There’s been a greater examination of the Jedi’s failings and poor decisions in recent years, so their making an active effort to suppress knowledge of Sith survivors could be a prime example of a long standing example.

New Chapter for Return of the Survivors. Below is a small selection, please click on a link above to read more.
Chapter 89 - Gimer Realities
Anakin stood in a somber gathering.  After the news about Yoda’s condition was shared with the rest of the Jedi, everyone wanted to come see him.  In fact, all of the Council made arrangements to come in person.  Yoda seemed to know this without anyone telling him.  He had asked them to gather the Council and hold a meeting at his bedside.  Anakin didn’t understand it.  If he were the one on his deathbed, the last thing he’d want to sit through would be a Council meeting.
Jedi may have a reputation for being detached, but they do understand death in the most intimate of ways.  The mood of everyone was diminished.  Occasionally there was an emotion released to the force that he could pick up on.  Grief was strong, as most of those here grew up with Yoda practically watching their first steps, but there was also a bit of fear.  It all made sense, after losing their Temple and home, they were about to lose their guide.
“He’s ready for you,” one of the nurses came to the door where they waited and announced.  Without saying a word, every Jedi stood up and walked towards the room where their Grandmaster lay.
Inside was a simple hospital room.  Yoda lay on a bed with white sheets.  A machine beeped behind him, and another dripped medicine, drop by drop, to his wrist.  In Yoda’s lap he held his Gimer Stick, a tool he was not shy about whacking you with if you needed a little help focusing.   The thought of it brought a bit of humor to the sad situation...

Just gonna come out and say it: Mace Windu should’ve survived and should’ve become the grandmaster of the New Jedi Order. Luke was probably not ready for that (as a Jedi. He was just knighted) and deserved to learn the traditions and cultures of the Order from a living Master

not a single day passes where I don't think about the implication of legends(?)-comics jedi master Vima-Da-Boda
she *has* to have been in her prime during the clone wars, which puts her right into the time frame of anakin 'stress ulcer over my secret wife's secret pregnancy' skywalker.
why am i saying this?
because this woman, a jedi master from a *geneological jedi dynasty*, also got pregnant, had a whole daughter and TRAINED HER AS HER OWN PADAWAN (the daughter then wdnt off and fell and got herself killed but thats besides the point)
what i'm saying is that between Vima (and the whole Sunrider Dynasty tbh) and Yula Braylon (who hid her child but Yoda explicitly states that they would have helped her had she told them) and the several other jedi with close family bonds in and outside the order WHY do people keep insisting that the jedi were anti-family hardliners?
the jedi order, at least in legends, has *always* allowed its members to marry and procreate if they choose to. you can even train your own children! it happens all the time!!
ki-adi mundi has five wives and idk how many children, plo koon's niece is a jedi, adi gallia and stass allie are cousins and both became high council members, vima trains her own daughter as her padawan and yula could have announced arath as her kid no problem.
and that is not even going into jedi families in the old/high republic times (remember, the order's most famous grandmaster, nomi sunrider, became a jedi at 30 after her already jedi husband was killed and she too had a daughter which she trained as a padawan)
also, you know, canon is free real estate anyways.
but for those who are so hellbent on saying that the jedi are anti-marriage/family hardliners, no they are not & they never were.
i hope that helps 👍🏼

one of the things i enjoyed most about the ahsoka show was the sheer concentration of bisexual losers
sabine? the pinnacle of girlfailure bi butch rizz
ahsoka? bisexual, middle-aged, and a loser
ezra? bisexual hermit with turtle friends whose beard could stop the hearts of every man and woman in a ten mile radius. and he's STILL a loser
truly what more can you ask from live-action star wars

"grandmaster" (grey?) Rey? I know the idea of grey jedi makes some parts of the fandom explode and I'm pretty on the fence about it but it's the easiest way to articulate myself. After going through what she did with kylo/Ben (by proxy, the dark side), luke and leia, her lineage, I don't think Rey would be a true jedi, at least in the sense of the old order, maybe she'd be something like Ahsoka.

I like to think that Ahsoka is a Jedi who lived to be like 100-200+ years old. Obviously I really love Ahsoka but all biases aside I think it would be very cool for Ahsoka to be the last Jedi left from the clone wars and got to live past the empire and the first order. Obviously we hear Ahsoka’s voice in rise of skywalker and this most likely means she is dead by the sequels but im still making my point.
Ahsoka from the beginning was one of the most hated Star Wars characters. She was some bratty teenage student to the beloved Anakin Skywalker. She fought in the clone wars, was supposed to die but was resurrected by the closest embodiment of the light side we have, was framed for a bombing, expelled from the Jedi order, came back and fought for Mandalore, survived order 66, survived the rise of the empire, and the rebellion, and currently continues the fight for peace. Ahsoka some bratty teenager that was expelled from the Jedi order had outlived almost everyone from the order. I just think it’s symbolic in a way for a character like Ahsoka to live long enough to tell multiple generations of the original order, of Anakin the chosen one, stories of everything she experienced.
Personally I think it would be cool butttt that might just be me 😎😭

Panel Announcement: The Many Lives of Luke Skywalker
In the Legends novels and comics, Luke Skywalker's character grew to be something far greater than the Jedi Knight of the original trilogy. He fell in love multiple times, discovered how to use the Force beyond the Jedi way, and even (momentarily) embraced the Dark Side to learn "its secrets from within." Join authors Matthew Stover, Michael Stackpole, Barbara Hambly and Michael Kogge on a discussion of Star Wars’ most misunderstood hero.
