Costume meta 6x14
Its like one extreme to the other with costumes from week to week on this show!! Last week I had so many to talk about and somehow managed to sneak 42 pictures into my meta. This week however, everyone was mostly hanging out in uniform so I have far fewer costume to talk about (but probably just as many words to say knowing me!!!)
So theres no Buck or Bobby this week as we don’t see either of them out of uniform, but I am going to talk about some background characters because they’re relevant in relation to costumes being worn by out mains!
As always the reest is under the cut to save your dash!
The Buckley-Han’s
Starting with Jee in her light teal top with a rainbow on. Like i’ve said a million times before the imagery they use on the kids clothing is very intentional and always says something about the scene/arc. The rainbow on Jee’s top is telling us that the Buckley-Han’s are in harmony (and not just with the singing) - that rainbows come after the rain - its signalling they are in a good place and are connected. they are a sign of new beginnings and hope. But it also takes both rain and sun to make a rainbow, so its a reminder that the rough times are a part ofwhat got them to the good times they’re now in.
Tumblr media
Maddie is wearing a black top
Tumblr media
and so is Chimney.
Tumblr media
I’m pretty sure this is the first time we’ve seen them wearing the same colour at the same time. its showing us they’re in balance - that they are strong (black is a colour of strength), it is also a colour of security and protection - after last week, we see that they (and Jee by virtue of being in-between them) are feeling secure and protected in their family. I do also think there is a bit of foreshadowing going on here as well - for Death and taxes - Black can be a colour of mourning and I think that we might be about to mourn the loss of this innocent time. How that plays out remains to be seen, but this moment captures the moment before things change for Madney.
The Wilsons & Athena
Here we have Hen in an acid yellow top with orange and blue sections that also have some purple in them. Blue and orange are complementary colours, as are yellow and purple. complementary colours create the strongest contrast - making each other appear more intense, but they also cancel each other out if mixed together - creating black or white. This gives us a hint of where Hen is mentally - especially in relation to Nathaniel. They sit at opposite sides of the parenting spectrum - established and legal and unestablished and technically with no legal rights. the fact that we have hen in a black tee underneath and later see Denny in black establishes the idea of the complementary colours mixing together and creating black - it is suggesting that the issues will be ironed out and that Denny will remain at the centre of any decisions Hen (and Karen) make. Its just an indicatior of good parenting by them and I love that
Tumblr media
Athena in red - the colour of passion and intensity. interestingly she also sits in the colour wheel with Hen - just without the opposition of a complementary colour. So Hen is the yellow and blue aspects of the colour wheel while Athena is red - thats all three primary colours in one scene and with the green behind her in the glass (red’s complementary colour) making all three of the secondary colours present as well. This is all about creating harmony - that goes for Hen and her family as well as Athena and hers.

Denny in black...

with Hen in this blue and green shirt.
Tumblr media
remind you of another parent child combination at all????
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yeah - they are gong hard with the parallels - very very hard. The choices here place Hen in a similar situation to Chris and Denny in the same place as Eddie and the two scenes have similar over arching themes. Themes of children seeking some independence from parents, but also the establishment of new boundaries and it is about the loss and reforming of trust. We see Chris continuing to keep doing the sneaky things he’s been doing - making it clear that he want’s to do things his way and  that (to a certain extent) Eddie is going to have to be the one to fall into line here - That it was Eddie who was being too rigid in his behaviour/ way of parenting Chris. Hen is similar to Chris - in that she is going to do things her way when it comes to Nathaniel - she isn’t going to pander to him and she is going ensure that both Nathaniel and Denny fall into line. This is about her setting a clear boundary - especially in light of Nathaniels behaviour (as the adult who should’ve known better) with both of them.
We see Eddie come round to Christophers way of thinking - understanding that Chris wasn’t acting out of character because he’s going to become a troublesome kid/teen, but it was out of a genuine desire to want to start to have some independence. Denny is in a similar situation - realising that his expectations are un reasonable - that Hens (and Karens) boundaries are reasonable (like Chris’s were with Eddie) and therefore he will have to adjust to them.
The Diaz’s (and co!)
Okay so I don’t normally comment on the decor in the houses in costume metas, but I actually think the choices made in the decoration of Tia Pepa’s house was very important and intentional so we’re gonna have a little look at it.
There is just so so much blue going on! In a season where the blue and green theming has been very noticeable and especially in connection with Eddie and Buck. To choose to have so much blue present in a scene with Eddie wearing green - when Eddie is being set up - is very literally meant to ensure we’re subconsciously making connections with Buck - the choice to have him in so much blue, especially paler blues this season has always been deliberate and now we’re seeing pay off for it beyond just what the blue can tell us as a colour - its so loud I’ve gone deaf!!
Tumblr media
Tia Pepa’s family portrait on the wall - looming behind her right shoulder is also very loud - its presence - the presence of extended family, it as important as Pepa and Eddie in this scene. Pictures/ portraits etc are not something i tend to focus on, but all burgundy and black of their outfits is telling a very loud story - especially in combination with Eddies and Pepa’s later outfits. Its also worth pointing out the olive tree in the background - the symbol of peace and friendship! The family in burgundy is sowing us unity - Eddies later date outfit being the same colour way also envelops him in the family fold.
Pepa’s own outfit, includes burgundy, but also the yellow of communication and the calmness of beige. its about establishing her as both the voice of reason and the communicator of important information!
Tumblr media
Sorry Eddies face in the above pic gets me every time I see it 😂
Eddie himself is wearing his trademark black and army green. his wearing it here is a symbol of his being ambushed and signifies him feeling at war - with himself and with his family wants. We’ve actually been seeing Eddie in less khaki green this season than previously, so its use now is more impactful - Eddie has been feeling less and less at war - with himself, with life etc. Now we’re seeing the use of this green in moments that appear to be playing a part in his moments of panic or repression. The brighter more sagey green from last episode is a clear contrast to this - more yellowy its a warmer colour while this one is more aggressive. I wrote in more detail about Eddies khaki jackets here 6x04
Tumblr media
Vanessa’s introduction is a pretty loud and telling one - it combines nicely with all the blue in Pepa’s home and only serves to remind us of a certain firefighter who is wearing A LOT of blue this season. In an episode where we don’t see Buck out of uniform this choice is even louder - it puts Vanessa directly into the shoes of Buck - so that the green and blue theme continues its presence and continues as a connection between them specifically - I talk about it later on, but there are some very intentional thngs being done with costumes as a way of connecting Buck to Eddiee - 6a was about establishing a theme and 6b is about using that establishment to further the agenda. we are very much meant to recognise the link to Buck and therefore recognise his absence - in the same way Eddie was absent from the coma dream - they are very much playing on the absence of things being louder than their presence and the presence of other things in the same colour being a reminder of that absence.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vanessas not date night outfit is super interesting now I’ve managed to get a good look at it! The bouquet of flowers on the front of the dress (not her impressive cleavage but feel free to look if you want 😂) has me feeling a lot of feelings about the insanity of the costume department and the lengths they go to to tell a story! So the bouquet is made up of wild flowers and grasses. They are cow parsley, poppies, daisies and the grass itself.
Grass in bouquets is symbolic of growth, health and abundance, the fact we have grass heads - with seeds on is also relevant - its about germination and new beginnings.
Daisies are a symbol of new beginnings and innocence (but even that connection with innocence stems from death - Celtic legend has it that when a child died, God would sprinkle daisies over the grave as a way of bringing comfort to the family. Medicinally they are used in the soothing of coughs, colds and breathing difficulties.
Poppies are very heavily associated with sleep and death - it is why they have become a symbol of armistice and peace after war. All of this is relevant to Eddie as a character - a man who has fought a war in the literal sense, but also one who has been fighting a war internally - repression is an active form of fighting agains ones self - against ones truth - it is also connected to sleep - repressing something is suggestive of it lying dormant or asleep - waiting to be woken up. this types in with the Hollywood meaning of the poppy - forever connected with the wizard of Oz - a story very literally about a coma dream (and one the show has referenced before with the lady in the earthquake hotel - with her red shoes and paisley the dog!
The cow parsley is very interesting - there are two meanings at play with it - firstly cow parsley is said to represent sanctuary and refuge - due to the fact it was commonly grown in monastery herb gardens - and its use was for the treatment of breathing difficulties (panic attack reference anyone?!!). then there is the greek myth connection, it is associated with Archemorus - the herald of death - the translation literally means the beginning of doom and that feels like a sign regarding Eddies future relationships with women. At this point Vanessa is the manifestation of Eddie dating women - past, present and possibly future is going and the dress is just helping the story along. Eddie is growing and learning and figuring out that women are not his future - that path only leads to doom!
Tumblr media
Eddies not date outfit is doing some heavy lifting - it’s emphasising the tie into family - linking his tias family with his own, Eddie being dressed in the same colour ways as the family portrait tells us that he is here on this ‘date’ as a ‘duty’ to family, he’s not here from his own free will. Of course there is also the connection to Buck from last episode - at the poker game. I’m truly fascinated by this choice because there is the obvious parallel of Buck thinking he was on a date only to find out that he wasn’t in the same way that Eddie here thinks he’s on a date (even if he intends to let her down) only to find that he isn’t isn’t. But there is also another interesting theme at play here, I’ve already said how Eddies suit matching Pepa and her family’s portrait outfits is symbolic of family ties, well that theme therefore also applies to Buck -  that he is family, because if it only referred to one of the two themes then it would’ve been easy to make use of a different colour for one o the themes so that only the one connection was made - if it was only about dates not being dates then you change the colour choices for Pepa and her family, or if its about family then you change the colour of Bucks suit. What this does is strengthen the idea that Buck is family, but not just to Eddie (and Chris), but also to Tia Pepa and her family, its perhaps a hint at the familial connection going deeper that we’ve been presented in canon thus far.
Tumblr media
Tia Pepa’s last outfit only further strengthens the arguement about both metaphors/themes being at play. the entire conversation centres around her previous failed relationship and getting back out there, we get a link to work colleagues as well. but Tia Pepa is happily married to her second husband Tio Paco - who is dressed in the same colour way in the portrait - making the suggestion that the answer for Eddie is in someone we’ve seen wearing the same colour way as him *cough* Buck *cough*
Tumblr media
Ok last costume - Eddies dark grey denim shirt. So Eddie wears denim shirts at key moments with family - 2x04 visiting Abuela in hospital, 2x07 when he reconnects with Shannon so he can get Chris into Durrand, 3x03 dropping Chris off with Buck post tsunami, 3x15 in flashback when he decided to move to LA with Chris, 4x08 when he introduces Ana to Chris as his girlfriend 6x11 when they visit Buck in hospital and now this one. This one is a bit different to all of his other ones though as its not a western style shirt, but that in and of itself tells its own story. All the shirts are  connected to family - but that comes with the proviso of it being about whichever member of family is also involved in the scene and not for Eddie himself- usually Christopher! So Eddie reconnecting with Shannon is about Chris, introducing Ana (and the conversation with Carla about following his heart not Christophers)  - about Chris, dropping Chris of at Bucks post tsunami - about Chris and Buck (its bringing him into the fold of family) etc etc. This new shirt - the non western one, is Eddie recognising and accepting something for himself - this is not about Chris or any other member of his family, this is solely about Eddie himself and that ties in very nicely with the journey we’ve seen Eddie on since his breakdown in 5b. For me it is a marker of Eddie actually starting to focus on his own feelings rather than Christopher (or anyone else’s).

my secret / lee heeseung
wc: 7k
It may not be all fans dream but it was certainly yours. to be noticed by your favorite idol, even if it only was the acknowledgement of your comment on their weverse lives or a reply on your post. Something so simple could have brighten up your day and mood. But you wanted to be remembered, not just seen. To make a long-lasting impression.
The first time you felt like the luckiest girl in the world when your best friend came into your room and showed you two tickets for enhypen's fan meet. You asked no questions but jumped out and went to hug her. The next following days were filled with anticipation and excitement, but then again it was like the days led on and went by so slowly.
The countdown on your calendar seemed to move at a snail's pace, each day dragging on as you and your best friend eagerly awaited the fan meet with ENHYPEN. You spent hours watching their music videos, practicing the fan chants, and discussing what you would say if you got the chance to talk to your bias. Your heart raced with excitement every time you thought about finally meeting them in person.
As the day of the fan meet drew nearer, your best friend surprised you with an envelope. Inside, there was a handwritten letter that read, "To my partner in ENHYPEN crime, I couldn't have asked for a better friend to share this adventure with. This is just a little something to make our day even more special." Inside the envelope, you found matching ENHYPEN-themed shirts, and your eyes welled up with tears of gratitude.
On the day of the fan meet, you and your best friend got ready together, helping each other choose the perfect outfits and doing each other's makeup. You couldn't believe how lucky you were to have a friend who understood your love for ENHYPEN so deeply. The excitement was palpable as you headed to the venue, clutching your tickets and wearing your matching shirts proudly.
Little did you know that this fan meet would be the beginning of an unforgettable journey filled with laughter, tears, and cherished memories.
You were seated two rows behind the main stage where the members were. The site in front of you was something you never thought you'd actually see and experience. you have gotten so used to see your favorite artist through a screen but now, they were in front of you. Slowly, your eyes land on your bias, lee heeseung.
As the music and their voices filled the venue, the vibrant stage lights illuminated heeseung's face, casting a surreal glow upon his features. He was every bit as mesmerizing as you had imagined, even more so in person. The energy and charisma he exuded were magnetic, drawing you deeper into the moment.
As Heeseung started to sing, his voice washed over the audience like a soothing wave, carrying with it the emotions and passion that had initially captured your heart. His every note seemed to resonate with your soul, and you couldn't help but be moved by the raw talent and dedication that had brought him to this stage.
Lost in the music and the enchantment of the moment, you found yourself swaying to the rhythm, your heart pounding in time with the music. It was as if the distance that had once separated you from your favorite artist had vanished, and for those fleeting moments, you felt a connection stronger than any screen could ever convey.
"Looks like your about to cry" min jee nudges you from the side. you both chuckle and you explain how surreal the feeling is, the feeling is mutual, and the conversation eventually ends as min jee squeals as she made eye contact with her bias.
After the small performance of their songs, the boys sit down to converse with their fans. You and Min Jee still feel excitement bubbling in your veins from the earlier exchange. Heeseung, who had noticed your emotional reaction earlier, spots you among the crowd and offers a warm smile.
As the Q&A session begins, fans eagerly raise their hands, and Heeseung points to you first, saying, "I saw you earlier during the performance. You seemed really moved. Would you like to share what touched you the most?"
Feeling a mixture of nervousness and gratitude, you stand up and take the microphone. "Well," you start, your voice trembling slightly, "it's just that… your music has always been a source of comfort for me. When I listen to your songs, it's like escaping into another world, a world filled with hope and happiness. Seeing you perform those songs live, it's like a dream come true."
Heeseung's eyes light up as he listens to your heartfelt words. "Thank you so much for sharing that," he replies sincerely. "We put a lot of love and dedication into our music, and it means the world to us to know that it touches you in such a profound way."
As the conversation continues, the members engage with fans on various topics, from their favorite memories to their future aspirations. You and Min Jee find yourselves caught up in the lively atmosphere, sharing laughter and stories with fellow fans.
And in the midst of it all, you can't help but notice the occasional glances from Heeseung, his smile never fading as he chats with the audience. The surreal feeling from earlier has transformed into a beautiful memory, one you'll carry with you forever as you continue to support and cherish the connection you share with ENHYPEN.
"The next portion of the fan meet came along, the one-on-one talk with each member. As you approached Heeseung, your heart raced with excitement. He greeted you with a warm smile, making you feel instantly at ease. The way he focused all his attention on you, as if you were the only person in the room, was both surprising and heartwarming.
You had prepared a list of questions in your mind, but as Heeseung looked into your eyes, all words seemed to escape you. Instead, you found yourselves engaged in a spontaneous and genuine conversation. Heeseung shared stories about his life, dreams, and the journey of ENHYPEN so far.
His humility and sincerity touched your heart deeply, and you couldn't help but admire him even more. Before you knew it, your allotted time was over, but not without Heeseung promising to remember your face and your support, a promise that filled you with an indescribable joy.
As you moved on to speak with the other members, each interaction was just as magical and unforgettable as the last. Sunghoon's playfulness, Sunoo's infectious laughter, and Jake's thoughtful words all left a lasting impression.
The memories you had created during those precious moments were indeed treasures that would always bring a smile to your face, and you knew you would cherish them for a lifetime. Eventually and unfortunately, the event had come to an end. On the car ride home, you and Min jee had nothing but good things to say, already reminiscing on the fan meet you both just experienced.
"you girls are so smitten for those boys" your dad offered to pick you both up but what he didn't expect was you two in the backseat love crying over the members and the event. when you reached home, after washing up, changing into your pajamas. Min jee hands you your now signed album, you both scan the newly signed album with the messages each member wrote.
Laughing, you looked at Min jee with tear-streaked cheeks, your voices still trembling with excitement. "I can't believe we actually met them," you admitted, holding the album close to your heart. "And they were so sweet!"
Min jee nodded vigorously, "I know, right? Sunghoon even gave me his signature heart!" She pointed to a heart-shaped doodle next to his autograph, making you giggle.
As you both continued to flip through the album, you couldn't help but relive the moments you had shared with ENHYPEN. Each message from the members felt like a cherished treasure, a reminder of the special bond you had formed during the fan meet.
"Look what Jungwon wrote," you said, showing Min jee the message from Jungwon. 'He said he hopes we keep supporting them forever.'
Min jee smiled warmly. 'We will, won't we?'
You nodded enthusiastically. 'Absolutely. We're their fans for life.'
Continuing, y/n spots numbers written on Heeseung's page, she stops and looks at the numbers that happen to be a phone number, written by side it "keep this a secret, yeah? text me whenever". eyes widen and followed by a scream by Min jee, she begins to hold your shoulders and shakes you. "Omg, excuse me! Heeseung gave you his number!!"
Eyes still locked onto Heeseung's phone number, you felt your heart race with excitement and disbelief. His message was clear - he wanted you to reach out to him. It was a secret connection, just between you and Heeseung.
Min jee's second scream brought you back to reality, and her enthusiastic reaction mirrored the excitement bubbling up inside you. She shook you, and you couldn't help but giggle at her infectious enthusiasm.
"This is incredible! You have to text him right now!" Min jee exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with delight.
Your mind raced with a mix of emotions. Should you really text him?
Min jee seemed to read your thoughts and grinned mischievously. "Come on, y/n! You'll never know unless you try. Besides, it's a secret, right? So, even if it's just friendly, you won't embarrass yourself."
With a deep breath and a smile, you nodded, determined to seize the opportunity. "You're right. I'll send him a message tomorrow. But for now, let's keep this our little secret."
The two of you shared a knowing look, sealing your pact of secrecy with a mischievous grin. The excitement of the day, combined with the secret connection you now shared with Heeseung, made it difficult to sleep that night. Little did you know that this phone number would be the start of an unexpected and incredible journey that would bring you even closer to your favorite ENHYPEN member.
As the morning sun filtered through your curtains, you tiptoed out of the bedroom, careful not to wake the still-sleeping Min jee. You couldn't help but feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness about texting Heeseung.
In the kitchen, you decided to whip up a special breakfast to share with your family and Min jee. You prepared pancakes with a side of fresh fruit and brewed a pot of coffee. The aroma of breakfast soon filled the air, and you couldn't help but feel proud of your cooking skills.
Meanwhile, an hour away, Heeseung stirred in his sleep. He had fallen asleep with his phone clutched in his hand, eagerly waiting for your text. His heart raced as he dreamt of the possibility of hearing from you, and when he woke up and realized no message had arrived, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment.
Heeseung rubbed his eyes, setting his phone aside for a moment. He decided to get up and start his day, not wanting to dwell on the anticipation. Little did he know that the message he had been waiting for would soon make its way to his phone, bringing a bright smile to his face.
Back at your place, the delicious smell of breakfast soon roused Min jee from her slumber. She wandered into the kitchen, her eyes still half-closed, and a sleepy smile tugging at her lips. "What's that amazing smell?" she mumbled.
You turned to her with a grin, holding up a plate of pancakes. "Breakfast is ready, Min jee! But first, let's have some coffee, and then I have something exciting to tell you."
Min jee's curiosity piqued, and she eagerly accepted the coffee you poured for her. As you both sat down to enjoy the meal, you couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and excitement for the day ahead.
"so, i sent him a message, just a simple good morning" your bestfriend almost spits out her coffee.
As you nonchalantly mentioned sending Heeseung a message, Min jee's reaction was anything but subtle. She nearly choked on her coffee, her eyes widening in shock as she tried to process what you had just said.
"What?! You sent him a message?!" Min jee exclaimed, her voice a mixture of excitement and disbelief. "Just like that? A 'good morning'? Are you serious?"
You couldn't help but chuckle at her reaction. "Yes, Min jee, I did! I mean, he did give me his number, and it's a secret, right?"
Min jee recovered from her coffee mishap and leaned in eagerly. "What did he say? Did he reply?"
You checked your phone, but there was still no response from Heeseung. "Not yet. Maybe he's still sleeping or busy with something. It's okay; I'm not expecting an immediate reply."
Min jee sighed dramatically, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "I can't believe this is happening! You have Heeseung's number, and you sent him a message! What if he replies with something super sweet?"
You blushed at the thought, but you tried to keep your expectations in check. "Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves. We'll see what happens. For now, let's finish our breakfast and enjoy our day. Who knows what surprises are in store for us?"
With that, you both continued to savor your breakfast, the anticipation of Heeseung's reply adding an extra layer of excitement to your already memorable weekend.
As the day progressed, you and Min jee went about your errands, trying to keep busy to distract yourselves from the anticipation of Heeseung's reply. You two shopped, enjoyed a leisurely lunch, and even visited a nearby park to relax and take in the beautiful weather.
Meanwhile, Heeseung's schedule was jam-packed with idol duties, from interviews to rehearsals and meetings. He hadn't had a chance to check his phone, which lay forgotten in his dressing room.
It wasn't until late in the afternoon that Heeseung finally had a moment to himself. He picked up his phone and noticed a notification indicating a new message. His heart skipped a beat as he saw your name on the screen. He quickly opened the message and read your simple "good morning., it's y/n for the fan meet yesterday"
A warm smile spread across Heeseung's face as he composed a reply: "Good afternoon! Sorry for the late reply. How's your day going?" He hit send and waited anxiously for your response.
Back at your place, you felt your phone buzz with a notification. Your heart raced as you saw Heeseung's name on the screen. Min jee, who was sitting beside you, leaned in eagerly to see your reaction.
You read Heeseung's message and couldn't help but smile. "He replied!" you exclaimed, showing Min jee the message.
She squealed with excitement and leaned closer to read it. "What are you waiting for? Reply, reply!"
With Min jee's encouragement, you quickly typed out a response, sharing details about your day and how much you enjoyed the fan meet. As you sent the message, you couldn't help but wonder what this unexpected connection with Heeseung might lead to.
"Gosh, you're so lucky, why didn't sunghoon give me his number" min jee laughs as she looks at the smile you hold as you text heeseung
You chuckled at Min jee's playful jealousy. "Well, Min jee, maybe next time we'll both get lucky, and Sunghoon will give you his number!" you teased, a mischievous glint in your eyes.
Min jee grinned and shook her head. "I can only hope! But seriously, this is amazing. I'm so happy for you, y/n. Who would've thought that a simple fan meet could lead to this?"
You nodded, your smile reflecting your own amazement. "I know, right? Life is full of surprises. And the best part is, it's just the beginning."
With that, you resumed your texting conversation with Heeseung, and the excitement of your newfound connection with the ENHYPEN member filled the room.
As the days turned into weeks, and those weeks into months, your online friendship with Heeseung continued to flourish in secret. You found yourselves texting, calling, and video chatting regularly, sharing details about your lives, dreams, and everything in between. Your connection deepened, and you both cherished the bond you had built.
However, the reality of your respective lives and responsibilities remained a significant barrier to meeting in person. Heeseung's demanding schedule as an idol and your own commitments made it challenging to find a suitable time and place to meet. The fear of getting caught, the potential impact on Heeseung's career, and the invasion of your privacy by fans added to the complexity of your situation.
Despite these challenges, your friendship remained strong. You found solace in knowing that you had someone to confide in, someone who truly understood you. Your secret connection became a source of joy and support for both of you.
You often wondered what the future held for your friendship, whether you'd ever find the right moment to meet in person and openly share your connection with the world. But for now, you both treasured the special bond you had, a secret friendship that continued to grow stronger with each passing day.
"How's you and Loverboy?" Your best friend hands you your snack and sits by you. "Loverboy? we are just friends" Min jee looks at you disappointed and crosses her arms "just friends? y/n you are fumbling the bag" she jokes. "Will my ship ever start sailing?" she continues to tease you.
You couldn't help but chuckle at Min jee's teasing. You took the snack she handed you and shrugged playfully. "Min jee, you and your ship fantasies. We're genuinely just friends, I promise."
She pouted in mock disappointment, giving you an exaggerated sigh. "Well, fine, but I'm still holding out hope for that ship to set sail someday."
As you chatted with Min jee, little did you know that Heeseung's fellow ENHYPEN members had also noticed a significant change in their oldest hyung. During a break from their busy schedule, Sunghoon couldn't help but comment, "Heeseung, you've been in a great mood lately. Anything special going on?"
Heeseung tried to hide his smile but failed miserably. "Oh, just some good conversations with a friend," he replied casually, not wanting to give away too much.
Sunghoon raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "A friend, huh? Is there something you're not telling us, Heeseung?"
The other members joined in, exchanging knowing glances and teasing smiles. They had become experts at reading each other over time, and Heeseung's change in behavior had not gone unnoticed.
Heeseung chuckled, realizing that he couldn't keep it a secret from his bandmates much longer. "Okay, okay, maybe there's someone I've been talking to."
The ENHYPEN members erupted in excitement, bombarding Heeseung with questions and playful teasing. He couldn't help but laugh at their enthusiasm, all the while wondering if someday, he would introduce you to his bandmates, officially blending his two worlds together.
"Is y/n the one that came with that pretty friend? what was her name...Min jee?" Sunghoon starts thinking deeply. "I should've gaven her my number as well" Sunghoon whines. "wow, you both found someone within ENGENEs at the fanmeet" Jay says.
Heeseung couldn't help but chuckle at Sunghoon's lament. "Well, you can always ask her for her number next time," he suggested with a teasing grin.
Sunghoon sighed dramatically, leaning back in his chair. "I guess you're right. Missed opportunities, man."
Meanwhile, Jay added his own perspective. "It's pretty cool, though, that you both found someone within ENGENEs at the fan meet. Who would've thought?"
Heeseung nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it's been quite an unexpected journey."
The conversation continued, with the ENHYPEN members sharing their own experiences and stories from fan meets and interactions with fans. As they reminisced and talked about the unique connections they had formed with their supporters, Heeseung couldn't help but think about the special bond he had with you, a connection that had grown beyond the typical idol-fan relationship and had become something truly meaningful in his life.
When you thought the moment would never come again, you met heeseung once again just by a coincidence. You and min jee were roaming the street of Seoul and spontaneously took it upon yourselves to go to an amusement park. It was a weekday, so there wasn't as much people as the weekends would have.
As you walked around the park, Min jee's eyes landed on cameras and staff. Heart stopping, Min jee pulls you to the side and whispers in your ear. Your own eyes then travel to find the site she mentions, then it hits you. it's heeseung, ni-ki, jake, and sunghoon filming something at the amusement park.
You and Min jee exchanged wide-eyed glances, barely able to contain your excitement and nervousness. It felt like fate had intervened once again, bringing you face to face with Heeseung and the ENHYPEN members in the most unexpected way.
"Do you think it's for an EN o' clock episode?" Min jee whispered, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
You hesitated for a moment, your heart pounding in your chest. The fear of causing a scene or disrupting their work crossed your mind. "or a En Log" you whispered back.
With cautious steps, you and Min jee made your way farther to where the ENHYPEN members were filming. You couldn't help but smile as you watched them work, appreciating their dedication to their craft. As you stopped watching from a far, you and Min jee failed to notice that certain eyes had finally landed on you. Unbeknownst to you, Heeseung had a sudden urge to look around and see if anyone familiar was in the vicinity. As his gaze swept the area, his eyes widened in surprise when he locked eyes with you.
Time seemed to stand still as Heeseung's gaze met yours. For a moment, he couldn't believe his eyes. It felt like a scene from a romantic movie, the world fading away as you and Heeseung locked eyes in the middle of the bustling amusement park.
A warm smile crept across Heeseung's face, and he subtly nodded in your direction, acknowledging your presence without drawing too much attention. It was a silent but meaningful greeting, a secret shared between the two of you.
Min jee noticed the exchange and nudged you excitedly. "Y/n, he's looking at you! Heeseung is looking at you!"
You turned to Min jee with wide eyes, heart pounding even faster. It was a moment you had never expected to happen again, a chance encounter that felt like destiny was at play once more.
Seeing that you and Heeseung couldn't do much more than exchange smiles and subtle nods in a crowded public space, you turned to Min jee and suggested that you should head somewhere else. However, it appeared that your best friend was equally captivated by the attention of Sunghoon, who had also taken notice of her.
You chuckled at the sight of Min jee being distracted by Sunghoon, realizing that fate had its own plans for your friend. With a knowing look, you decided to let her have her moment and turned your attention back to Heeseung.
Heeseung was now laughing at something Sunghoon had said, and the camaraderie between the ENHYPEN members was heartwarming to witness. Despite the distance and the limitations of the situation, it felt like a small, beautiful moment that you shared with Heeseung.
As the day continued at the amusement park, you and Min jee enjoyed the excitement of the rides and attractions, all while stealing glances at the ENHYPEN members whenever you could. It was a day filled with unexpected encounters, secret smiles, and the joy of being in the presence of your favorite K-pop idols.
As you and Min jee chatted and enjoyed your time on the viking ride, you remained blissfully unaware of the surprise waiting behind you. The ride was half-filled with other people, creating a lively atmosphere as the ride swung back and forth.
Little did you know that Heeseung, Ni-ki, Jake, and Sunghoon had purposely chosen to sit behind you both. They exchanged excited glances, their plan to surprise you and Min jee carefully orchestrated.
As the ride began its swinging motion, you and Min jee laughed and held onto your seats, completely engrossed in the experience. You could feel the wind in your hair and the adrenaline rush as the ride reached its peak and then swung back down.
Meanwhile, Heeseung and the others watched your reactions with eager anticipation. They couldn't wait to see your surprise when they revealed themselves. It was a daring move, but they couldn't resist the chance to make your day even more memorable.
As the viking ride came to an end and the safety bar released, Sunghoon couldn't help but voice his complaint. "Ni-ki, why did you drag me into this?" he exclaimed, causing Min jee to turn around in shock.
Min jee's eyes widened as she realized who was behind her, and a surprised but delighted smile graced her face. "Oh, hi," Sunghoon greeted her shyly, offering a polite bow.
You couldn't help but chuckle at the playful exchange between Sunghoon and Ni-ki. Turning around, you greeted the other three members who had sat behind you, your cheeks slightly flushed with shyness.
"Hey, it's nice to see you all again," you said, trying to maintain your composure.
Heeseung, too, had a faint blush on his cheeks as he met your gaze. "Yeah, it's been a while," he replied, his smile warm and friendly.
The unexpected reunion in a public setting made your hearts race, but it also filled you with joy.
As the day continued, you found yourselves in a more private area with Min jee and the four ENHYPEN members. It was a situation you hadn't anticipated when you set out for the amusement park, and yet, here you were, sharing a more intimate moment with your favorite K-pop idols.
The setting allowed for more relaxed and personal conversations. You and Min jee exchanged stories and laughter with Heeseung, Ni-ki, Jake, and Sunghoon. It was as if you were all old friends catching up, despite the initial shyness that had marked your encounter.
Heeseung, in particular, seemed genuinely happy to see you again and was eager to hear about your experiences since the fan meet. He asked about your favorite ENHYPEN songs and moments, and you shared your thoughts and feelings with enthusiasm.
Min jee, too, was having a lively conversation with Sunghoon, who had a knack for making her laugh. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of camaraderie and warmth that you had never expected to experience in such a private setting.
As the day drew to a close, you couldn't help but reflect on the unexpected turns of fate that had brought you here. Meeting Heeseung and the others again, in a more private and personal context, was a memory you would treasure forever.
Min jee's curiosity got the best of her, and she couldn't help but ask Heeseung and the others about what they were filming for and why only four of them were present.
Heeseung smiled warmly, appreciating her interest. "It's actually a special project we're working on, but we can't reveal all the details just yet," he explained. "And as for the four of us, sometimes we split up for various activities to keep things interesting."
Ni-ki nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it's a surprise for our fans, so we have to be a little secretive."
Jake chimed in, adding, "But we're glad you asked! We're always excited to share our work with ENGENEs."
Sunghoon couldn't resist teasing Min jee a bit, a mischievous twinkle in his eye. "Don't worry, it's not a top-secret mission or anything. We just like to keep things mysterious."
Min jee blushed at Sunghoon's playful teasing but couldn't help but smile. "Well, I can't wait to see what you guys have in store for us."
Heeseung couldn't resist the opportunity to tease Sunghoon further. With a mischievous grin, he turned to Sunghoon and said, "Speaking of secrets, I remember someone here wanted to get Min jee's number earlier."
Sunghoon's eyes widened in surprise, and he sputtered, "Wha—Heeseung, why are you bringing that up?"
The other members laughed, thoroughly enjoying the playful banter. Heeseung continued to tease Sunghoon, "Come on, Sunghoon, don't be shy. You thought Min jee was interesting enough to want her number, right?"
Min jee's face turned a bright shade of red as she tried to hide her embarrassment, while you couldn't help but chuckle at the amusing turn of events.
Sunghoon, in his good-natured way, finally relented, "Okay, fine, maybe I was curious, but it was just friendly curiosity, I swear!"
The teasing continued, creating a lighthearted and enjoyable atmosphere among all of you.
As the day began to wind down, responsibilities and schedules started calling for both you and the ENHYPEN members. It was time to say goodbye.
Heeseung, with a warm and reassuring smile, stepped forward and said, "I know we have to go, but this won't be the last time we meet, I promise. We'll have more chances to spend time together."
His words filled you with hope and happiness, and you nodded in agreement. "I'll be looking forward to that, Heeseung."
Min jee chimed in, her heart full of gratitude and excitement. "Thank you all for making this day so memorable. We'll be cheering for you, as always."
With heartfelt goodbyes and promises to meet again, you and Min jee watched as Heeseung, Ni-ki, Jake, and Sunghoon headed off to their next destination. As you left the amusement park, you couldn't help but reflect on the incredible day you had shared with your favorite idols and the newfound certainty that your paths would cross once more in the future.
The months continued to pass, and your beautiful secret friendship with Heeseung and the ENHYPEN members only grew stronger. You cherished the moments you spent talking, sharing stories, and getting to know each other on a deeper level. It was a unique and cherished connection that you considered yourself incredibly fortunate to have.
Your friendship with Heeseung had become a cornerstone of your life, a bond that brought you happiness and comfort. The more you got to know him, the more you realized how wonderful he was, both as an idol and as a person.
Meanwhile, it seemed that Min jee and Sunghoon's connection had evolved into something more than just friendship. Their budding romance brought a new layer of excitement and happiness to your circle. You couldn't help but smile at the sweet moments they shared and how their feelings for each other had blossomed.
Heeseung's feelings for you had deepened over time, evolving from a mere crush into something more profound. He had been planning to confess his feelings for a while now, and the moment had finally arrived. However, his fellow ENHYPEN members were quick to notice his distraction and teasingly referred to him as "lover boy."
As Heeseung stepped into the recording booth, Jay couldn't resist the opportunity to tease him. "Okay, lover boy, stop texting y/n and record your part," Jay quipped, earning a round of laughter from the other members.
Heeseung playfully rolled his eyes and replied, "Why don't you tease Sunghoon as well? He's the one who wanted Min jee's number."
The members continued to laugh, but they also shared knowing glances. They could tell that Heeseung was genuinely smitten, and his confession had been a long time coming. They respected his feelings and knew that, ultimately, it was a beautiful part of his life.
As Heeseung put on his headphones and began recording, he couldn't help but feel a mix of nervousness and excitement about what lay ahead. The possibility of sharing his true feelings with you filled him with hope and anticipation, and he hoped that, just maybe, you felt the same way.
Receiving Heeseung's text around 5 PM, your heart raced as you read his message. The anticipation of what he had to say filled you with excitement and a touch of nervousness. Heeseung's words conveyed urgency, and you couldn't help but wonder what was so important.
You quickly replied, agreeing to meet him at the location he mentioned. As you got ready and headed out, your thoughts were consumed by what Heeseung might want to discuss. The evening air was cool, and the city buzzed with life as you made your way to the designated meeting place, your heart pounding with anticipation.
Arriving at the private restaurant, you were greeted by a guard and a staff member who had been expecting your arrival. You exchanged polite greetings and engaged in some pleasant conversation as they led you to a private room within the restaurant.
As you entered the room, your heart skipped a beat when you saw Heeseung standing there, a bouquet of flowers in his hand. The warm and inviting ambiance of the room, coupled with Heeseung's presence, made the moment feel incredibly special.
A smile spread across your face as you approached him, your heart filled with a mixture of excitement and curiosity about what he had to tell you. The sight of Heeseung waiting with flowers added an extra layer of romance to the evening, and you couldn't wait to hear what he had in store.
Heeseung smiled warmly as he handed you the bouquet of flowers, the colorful blooms a vibrant contrast against the dimly lit room. He took a deep breath, his eyes locked onto yours, and he began to speak with a sincerity that melted your heart.
"Y/n," he began, his voice filled with a mixture of nervousness and determination, "the reason I asked you to meet me here tonight is because there's something I've been wanting to tell you for a long time, something that's been on my mind ever since we first met at that fan meet."
Heeseung paused for a moment, searching for the right words. "I've come to realize that my feelings for you go beyond friendship. Y/n, I care about you deeply, and I can't help but have these strong feelings for you."
His confession hung in the air, and Heeseung's gaze never left yours. He had bared his heart and soul to you, revealing the depth of his emotions. Now, all that remained was your response to his heartfelt confession.
You didn't want to keep him waiting longer, so you responded in a way that left you in shock as your own body took over. You leaned over and kissed him on the cheek before replying "I like you too Heeseung"
The room seemed to hold its breath for a moment as you leaned in and pressed a gentle, affectionate kiss on Heeseung's cheek. It was a gesture that conveyed your feelings more than words ever could, and it left him pleasantly surprised.
A warm, radiant smile lit up Heeseung's face as he heard your words. "I'm so glad to hear that, Y/n," he replied, his voice filled with happiness. "I've been wanting to hear those words for a long time."
The atmosphere in the room shifted, and the connection between you and Heeseung felt even more special. It was a moment of shared feelings, unspoken emotions, and the promise of a new chapter in your relationship. The beautiful secret you had shared was now a beautiful reality, and you couldn't wait to see where this journey would lead you both.
Around 9pm the date had ti end and now you were heading home. The ride home was nothing but solace and peace. You admired the city lights and the ngiht sky through the window, not noticing Heeseung admiring you. With a smile on his face and a camera in his hand. Documenting the start of something new.
As the car pulled up in front of your home, the warm and romantic date came to an end, and you found yourself in Heeseung's company car.
"Okay, lovers, time to say goodbye for now," the manager joked, earning a laugh from both you and Heeseung. His manager, with a playful grin, decided to give you both some privacy and stepped out of the car.
You turned to Heeseung, and there was a comfortable silence for a moment as you cherished the memory of the evening. Heeseung reached out and gently held your hand, his eyes filled with affection and gratitude.
"Thank you for being here with me tonight," he said softly. "I can't wait to see where this journey takes us."
With that, you exchanged a sweet, lingering goodnight kiss, and Heeseung watched as you entered your home, the promise of a new chapter in your relationship filling your heart with joy and anticipation.
The following month reminded you that this was not all sunshine and rainbows, yes you were very content and happy with what you and heeseung had but now you had more worry about getting caught since you have been meeting up more.
Sharing your concerns about the increasing risk of getting caught with Min Jee was a relief. It felt good to confide in your best friend, especially since she was experiencing a similar situation with Sunghoon. As you sat together, you both found comfort in knowing you weren't alone in facing the challenges of your secret relationships with the ENHYPEN members.
Min Jee nodded sympathetically as you voiced your worries. "I know what you mean, y/n. It's tough to balance our feelings and the need for privacy, especially when we want to support them and enjoy our time together."
She continued, "But remember, we've been managing it well so far. And Heeseung and Sunghoon, they're both understanding and careful about it too. We just have to be cautious and trust that things will work out."
You felt reassured by Min Jee's words, and the bond between you and your best friend grew stronger as you navigated the challenges of your secret relationships with the ENHYPEN members together.
You both shared a laugh, finding humor in the series of events that had led to your secret relationships with Heeseung and Sunghoon.
Min Jee playfully flipped her hair back and grinned. "I guess we must be incredibly good looking to catch their attention," she said with a playful wink. "But hey, it's not just about looks, it's about the connection we share with them."
You nodded in agreement, still amused by the twists and turns of fate that had brought you to this point. "Absolutely, it's the connection that matters the most. And it's been a beautiful journey so far."
You and Min Jee shifted your focus from romance to more pressing matters, like finishing your thesis paper. With determination, you handed Min Jee your laptop, and together, you dove back into your academic work.
As you worked side by side, tackling your research and writing, you couldn't help but appreciate the balance in your life. While your secret romance with Heeseung was a beautiful and cherished part of your journey, your academic goals and friendships were equally important. It was the blend of all these aspects that made your life rich and fulfilling, and you were determined to succeed in every aspect, both in love and in your studies.
You thought back and mentioned how Heeseung proved to be a loving and supportive boyfriend, and his presence in your life was a constant source of reassurance and comfort. He never let you bear the stress of the situation alone and was always there to uplift your spirits.
Whenever you felt overwhelmed by the pressure and expectations of keeping your relationship a secret, Heeseung would be the calm in the storm. He would hold your hand, look into your eyes, and tell you, "We'll get through this together, Y/n. Our love is worth it, and I'm here for you every step of the way."
His words and actions were a reminder that your relationship was built on trust, understanding, and unwavering support. Heeseung's love gave you the strength to face the challenges and uncertainties of your unique situation, and you cherished every moment you spent together, no matter how secret or hidden it had to be.
the end~
(extra: Underneath a starry night sky, you found yourselves on a quiet rooftop. Heeseung had planned a surprise for you, a romantic evening that would create unforgettable memories.
As you both stood there, the soft glow of city lights surrounding you, Heeseung took your hand in his, his fingers gently interlacing with yours. He pulled you closer, and you felt the warmth of his touch as he wrapped his arms around you, enveloping you in a tender embrace.
"Y/n," he whispered, his voice soft and filled with love, "being with you is like finding my own little piece of paradise. I cherish every moment we spend together, and I can't imagine my life without you."
Your heart swelled with emotion as you looked up into Heeseung's eyes, the moonlight reflecting in them like a sea of stars. "Heeseung," you replied, your voice filled with affection, "you are my light in the darkness, my anchor in the storm. I'm so grateful to have you in my life."
As the night breeze rustled your hair and the world seemed to fade away, Heeseung leaned in, his lips gently meeting yours in a sweet, lingering kiss. It was a kiss filled with all the love and tenderness you both felt for each other, a moment of pure connection beneath the starry sky.
In that moment, you both knew that no matter the challenges or secrets that life may bring, your love would always shine brightly, just like the stars above, guiding your hearts together.)

9-1-1 Season 6 - Constructive Criticisms #12
Madney: Maddie & Chimney
Madney is the “ship” name for Maddie Buckley’s and Chimney Han’s relationship.  It’s a portmanteau or a combination of their first names as it combines the first three letters from Maddie of ‘Mad’ with the last three letters of ‘ney’ from Chimney or Mad + ney = Madney.  They’re both main characters while their daughter Jee-Yun is a recurring character.  Maddie and Chimney were friends first before they entered their romantic relationship towards the end of season 2 and they’ve been together for almost four years.  They broke up after Chimney found Maddie in Boston during season 5 and they remained separated until the beginning of season 6.
Madney met in 2x6 when Chimney installed Maddie’s security system in her new apartment.  They began as friends who spent a lot of time together on “Buff-Fridays” but they didn’t officially start dating until months later.  They experienced several traumas as a couple over the years and the first one involved Maddie’s estranged husband Doug stabbing Chimney in 2x12 and capturing her.  It was the first of many but they stayed together and overcame a lot of other traumas both individually and jointly including Maddie being accused of stalking a 9-1-1 caller, the arrival of Chimney’s half-brother Albert, Chimney’s fear of going home after the lockdown ended in 2020, Maddie’s worry regarding whether she would be a good mother to their daughter, Maddie’s PPD, Chimney leaving to find her and their breakup.
Chimney told Hen that he and Maddie had forgiven each other for all the things they endured which is great but the issue is they still haven’t talked about all the invisible elephants that are standing inside of the rooms in their house.  Issues with money, marriage, their future and most importantly them being afraid the other one is going to leave are still festering and have been for a while.  All of these are red flags that happen in the majority of marriages but they don’t just work themselves out unless the two people involved in a relationship take time to discuss them.
In previous seasons, their storylines had depth and meaning but in season 6, they didn’t and it was very noticeable.  Them deciding to buy a house came out of nowhere when there was an easier solution and the marriage proposal dragged on for way too long.  As individuals, other than Maddie’s encounters with Noah, the foreshadowing of Chimney becoming a captain and the storylines that included their toxic parents, neither one of them had a significant storyline that stood out from the rest of the ensemble cast.  They’re both main cast members which means the opposite should have been true.
The Madney ship and the characters of Maddie and Chimney weren’t given the attention they deserve the same way Bathena and Henren weren’t and it’s ridiculous because Madney’s relationship has always been one of the highlights of the show.  In the past, their relationship was showcased as two people who were good friends who enjoyed spending time together but it eventually grew into something romantic that was filled with undying love.  In season 6, their relationship was overshadowed by distractions, houses, money and toxic parents.
Full Disclosure: IMO, in 6x1, after Jee-Yun said, “Mama leave?”, it was foreshadowed that either Maddie or Chimney is going to leave the relationship and the foreshadowing continued throughout the season with both of them running away and avoiding the difficult discussions they needed to have.  I didn’t post any blogs about it then because I wanted to see if the narrative would change in 6B but it didn’t.  Also, I wanted to see how their actions would play out for the remainder of the season so that I could provide an objective analysis of their relationship.
My twelfth set of “constructive criticisms” regarding the Madney ship and the individual characters included in the Buckley-Han families in season 6 are included below the cut.  Please note criticizing a TV show is NOT a bad thing especially since TV critics have been doing it for decades.  Constructive criticisms are designed to help make something better and they are VERY different from negativity.  A person can offer criticisms about a form of entertainment they spend their time watching and not be negative about it the same way two people can agree to disagree on a topic. Just because one person liked the season, they shouldn’t expect others to feel the way they do because everyone has their own opinions.  Simply put, two people can have different opinions about 9-1-1 and those opinions can COEXIST since they are not mutually exclusive.
If reading criticisms about the TV show 9-1-1 upsets you, then don’t read below the cut.
                  Warning! ⚠️“Constructive Criticisms” Ahead!⚠️
Disclaimer:  Even though time constraints and the presence of an ensemble cast usually dictate how things are presented on-screen, it’s important to note, in the past Madney’s conversations were included in CANON so the narrative could be followed and so that it made sense.  But in season 6 there were HUGE issues with continuity for all the main characters but especially for Madney because they were GLARINGLY OBVIOUS since they weren’t allowed to have important conversations on-screen.
Madney’s Relationship
As mentioned above, Maddie and Chimney have been in a romantic relationship for more than four years, it could have been five but they were friends first and they broke up for a few months after they returned from Boston in 5B.  They began dating in season 2 but when Chimney was on his way to take Maddie out on their first date, her estranged husband Doug stabbed Chimney and abducted her but they stayed together and continued to build a solid foundation for their relationship.
Maddie took a pregnancy test in 3x18, it was positive and their daughter Jee-Yun Buckley-Han was born in 4x9.  They had been living in Chimney’s apartment until Maddie got her own place after they returned from Boston in 5x13 but she moved back into his apartment in 6x1 and they bought a house together at the end of 6x9.
Prior to season 6, Maddie and Chimney had a lot of conversations some of which were difficult including Maddie being accused of stalking a 9-1-1 caller, Chimney telling her he was in love with her, Maddie’s fear of whether she would be a good mother along with the conversation they had while they were in Boston.  But the issue in season 6 was they weren’t allowed to talk to each other on-screen.  They haven’t had an open and honest TWO-WAY conversation about their relationship since 5x12.  She proposed to him in 6x17 but they still didn’t talk about their issues and she did all the talking during the proposal.  When he tried to explain that he was in a different place, she told him to “Stop” and they didn’t discuss either of their fears about getting married.
Instead of talking to each other, they spent the entire season talking to everyone else about their issues and other people talked about them too.
Chimney had a conversation with Eddie and Bobby in 6x1 when he ran away the morning after their one-night stand.
Maddie talked to Josh in 6x1 before she promised Chimney she wasn’t going to leave.
Maddie talked with Josh in 6x15 the morning after the accountant told her and Chimney, they should get married to save money on their income taxes.
Chimney and Hen had several conversations in 6x16 about Chimney proposing which is not unusual since they’re best friends but he didn’t even know if Maddie wanted to get married.
Buck and Hen argued about it in 6x16 because Buck felt like they should have pushed Chimney to propose while Hen suggested they let him figure it out on his own. (This conversation shouldn’t have happened because the proposal wasn’t about either of them.  Possible reasons for their conversation were included in “Constructive Criticisms #11”).
Maddie talked with Buck, who is her brother about the engagement ring in 6x17 and he said something about his conversation with Hen from 6x16 that prompted her to go talk to Hen.
Chimney asked Gina, the insurance representative if he should propose in 6x17 while he was filing the insurance claim.
Maddie went to Hen’s house in 6x17 and invited herself in without a greeting followed by them discussing the proposal among other things.
Money & Marriage
Money and marriage were two huge themes within their relationship throughout season 6.
Maddie mentioned how combining their incomes helped them to be able to afford a nanny in 6x5.
Every house Maddie said they viewed in 6x8 was either not right or out of their price range.
In 6x10, Maddie asked Chimney if he was still bothered about having to borrow the downpayment for their house from her parents.
In 6x15, Maddie insinuated Chimney wasted money on ice cream, she told him in front of the IRS representative that she pays more than 50% of their household expenses and the accountant suggested they get married to save 14K in income taxes.
They couldn’t afford the downpayment on their house BUT CHIMNEY SPENT thousands of dollars on her engagement ring in 6x16.  The prices of the engagement rings he looked at on his phone ranged from $7,000 to $15,000 USD but they had to borrow money from the Buckley parents to purchase their home.  None of this made any narrative sense at all.
In 6B, it was consistently implied that Chimney is frivolous with money when he was never shown to be like that in previous seasons. Chimney’s fictitious salary is more than 100K annually while Maddie’s is closer to 60K, therefore the implications of him mismanaging money didn’t make sense especially since she earns WAY LESS than he does.  Also, the more than 400K she received from Doug’s estate is gone because she said she spent it when she went to Boston in season 5.  So, WTF was the goal here?
What was the show trying to insinuate?  It appears they were attempting to show Chimney doesn’t contribute his fair share to their household expenses which was absolutely ridiculous when prior to season 6, NEITHER OF THEM WERE SHOWN TO BE BAD WITH MONEY AND THEY DIDN'T MISMANAGE THEIR FINANCES. Chimney had his own apartment that he paid for all on his own, way before Maddie moved in and reminder, Buck had to move in with him after he left Abby’s apartment in 2x8.  In season 5, he spent all of his savings chasing Maddie and she spent all of hers too, so what were they trying to accomplish with this asinine storyline/arc for Chimney because he’s not frivolous with his finances?
The proposal
Chimney’s decision to propose was dragged out for far too long and even though he didn’t propose to her because she proposed to him in 6x17 and he said yes, they still didn’t talk about any of the issues surrounding their relationship.  Chimney talked to Hen about his fears in 6x16 and he talked to the insurance representative too in 6x17 but he NEVER TALKED TO MADDIE about them (see all the people he did talk to above).  Maddie talked to Buck and Hen about her fears but she NEVER TALKED TO CHIMNEY.  Therefore, they both have fears that have yet to be addressed.
There were TOO MANY people involved in the proposal that shouldn’t have been, i.e. the entire 118, with Bobby offering to officiate when Chimney tried to explain he and Maddie probably wanted something small.  Buck saying he needed to do a grand gesture, Ravi suggesting Chimney’s idea was kind of lame while Eddie was the only one who told him it was his choice.  Everyone offered their two cents while they were in the firehouse but HEN WAS THE ONLY ONE who kept it real with Chimney when they were in private, even though he didn’t want to hear it.  Before Maddie proposed, Chimney was still wishy washy about it because he wasn’t sure.  Did he say yes?  He did but the foreshadowing and the narrative were clearly telling a different story.
Just like in real life, almost everyone wanted Maddie and Chimney to get engaged because they like to see weddings and people get married but as mentioned earlier, they weren’t TALKING TO EACH OTHER ABOUT THE IMPORTANT THINGS that still plague their relationship. The question is, do they really want to get married or were they both being shown to be in love with “the idea of marriage”?   It’s always been clear that they are in love with each other but being in love and being ready to get married are two different things.
One of the few things season 6 did well was illustrate how MADDIE AND CHIMNEY AREN’T READY TO GET MARRIED.  Once Maddie proposed in 6x17, it was like everything else that led up to it DIDN’T HAPPEN.  Chimney told Hen in 6x16 they forgave each other for the hurt they caused and experienced but it doesn’t erase the palpable fear they have that one of them is going to leave the relationship (see below).
If the narrative continues, it’s unlikely a wedding will happen at the beginning of season 7 for them unless it’s forced because there were still too many things left unsaid between them.  Did they get engaged, YES!  But they still haven’t had an on-screen conversation about the DIFFICULT topics they refuse to discuss and they represent the red flags that were waving inside of their relationship throughout the season.
Here’s evidence to prove a wedding might not happen between them anytime soon.  In 5x13, after they returned to L.A., Chimney told Hen, “All those other times we were apart, it always felt like it was outside forces, ex-husbands, pandemics… this time it feels like the call was coming from inside the house”.  Then he told Hen in 6x16, “The universe is trying to tell me something.  Every time me and Maddie, try to make something real and concrete… it falls away like sand.  Maybe it's time I start paying attention to that”.  He made those comments one year apart so it’s possible they won’t be getting married until they deal with their past.
Madney’s pasts
When Chimney found Maddie in 5x12, they agreed they were going to keep communicating about the difficult things but they stopped in 6A and it continued through the end of 6B.  Even though they had an off-screen conversation before 5x13, while they were driving back to L.A., they’ve rarely been shown talking about anything important.  They talked in 6x1 after Maddie’s apartment flooded, they hooked up but he ran then she talked to Josh and he told her maybe she needed to talk to Chimney instead of waiting for him to talk to her.  They talked about Magda in 6x5 but they didn’t talk about Maddie’s fear at the end of 6x4 after she helped Lourdes and Claribel.  This is important because Maddie will probably always struggle with the fact that she was in a domestic abuse situation but her and Chimney haven’t discussed it on-screen which means they’re afraid to approach the subject.  Chimney told Eddie in 3x4 that he wanted to tell her that he wasn't anything like her psycho deceased husband while she was shown to still clearly be traumatized by it.
In 6x4, they didn’t talk about Chimney being trapped in the car with that drunk driver and they weren’t shown discussing Noah’s arrest in 6x5 since he was the one who stole Maddie’s password.  Also, other than the money Margaret and Phillip lent them, they haven’t been shown discussing their toxic parents even though there are CLEARLY ISSUES especially since in 6x10, Chimney told Buck that the Buckley parents were on their best behavior but he didn’t know why and it was something new for him to worry about.
Couples Therapy
While Maddie and Chimney have been to therapy individually, they’ve never gone to therapy together.  In 3x9, Chimney told the 118, he went to therapy after the stabbing and in that same episode, Maddie was in therapy again after Sue ordered her to go.  She checked herself into a clinic after she tried to commit suicide following 5x3 but Chimney hasn’t been shown going to deal with the paralyzing fear he felt after she left.
They’ve experienced some very traumatic events that might only be resolved in therapy.  The synopsis for 6x1 stated they were going to couples therapy but it NEVER happened.  Maddie made a promise to Chimney that she was there for their family but that’s not the same thing as talking through their issues and facing their shared traumas. They’ve forgiven each other but they still haven’t talked about Chimney’s fear associated with Maddie leaving and they haven’t talked about Maddie’s fear of leaving Jee-Yun for six months.  She talked to Buck about it in 5x15 but she hasn’t been shown talking to Chimney.  He talked with Bobby and Hen in 5x13 about his fear of leaving Jee-Yun with Maddie and he was scared to death when he got home and saw the light in the bathroom on but they haven’t discussed it.
Red Flags
Their relationship was plagued with red flags throughout season 6 including the house they purchased combined with the crippling fear they both have that involves the other one leaving.
The house
There was an abundance of red flags associated with their new home.  First, Josh said it was a “murder house” in 6x9 but after Chimney did some research, he learned the owner ABANDONED it after her husband and three daughters died in a car accident.  They didn’t have the money for a down payment and based on their actions in 6x8, they only bought it so Jee-Yun would have her own bedroom.  They could have moved into a two-bedroom apartment and it would have solved all their problems but for whatever reason, they chose the more difficult option.
They couldn’t afford any of the homes they looked at and they couldn’t afford the down payment on the house they ended up buying so they had to borrow the money from Maddie’s parents.  Maddie told Josh the house wasn’t finished which means even though everyone wanted to see it, no one could stay with them.  The renovations were timely and costly but Chimney was trying to make it work.  Before and after the Buckleys arrived, Chimney planned to give the seat at the head of the dining room table to Phillip. Seriously, WTF was that even supposed to be? (See Chimney’s section for more info on this topic.)
Then Albert showed up in 6x10 with not one but TWO UNANNOUNCED guests, Sang and Albert’s mother without even talking to Chimney before they arrived.  In 6x11, Margaret wanted to buy some plants to decorate the place the same way she bought Buck a couch which wasn’t necessary.  The illusion Buck and Albert had of them being the perfect family during the dry lightning storm in 6x10 was another issue.  In 6x13 Rhonda Fitzsimmons, the coupon forger, barged her way in without being invited and Jee-Yun hid Maddie’s engagement ring in her plastic doll house in 6x16 which is where Maddie found it in 6x17 and then Maddie proposed to Chimney with a big and flashy fake ring.
Reminder, 9-1-1 doesn’t do coincidences and everything that HAPPENS IN CANON, HAPPENS FOR A REASON.  Therefore, the issues associated with their storylines of ABANDONMENT, UNNANOUCNED AND UNIVITIED GUESTS, THE PLASTIC DOLL HOUSE, THE FAKE RING, HOME OWNERSHIP, HEAD OF THE HOUSEHOLD AND FAMILY were all highlighted for a reason.  The reason wasn’t revealed, so hopefully it will be in season 7.
Being afraid the other one will leave
It’s clear Chimney is still afraid that Maddie’s going to leave and it’s been foreshadowed several times.  In 4x1, after Eddie and Hen moved out of Buck’s loft, Chimney was too scared to go back home even though the lockdown had been lifted.  In 5x3 after Maddie left, he was terrified something happened to her or someone forced her to leave even though Buck told him sometimes she just leaves.  Then he told Buck he didn’t want to think badly of her.  In 5x18, he thought she wanted to start seeing someone else and in 6x1 he left after they hooked up because he was afraid that she was going to leave him again.  Also, his face wasn’t shown when Jee-Yun said, “Mama leave”, which could mean he’s still afraid of it.
He was the one who suggested they buy the “murder house” in 6x9 even though Maddie was clearly not too excited about it.  He admitted in 6x10 that the renovation was taking its toll on them and that it was mainly spearheaded by him and in 6x16 he told Hen marrying Maddie was what he wanted but he hadn’t talked to her to see how she felt about it.
The conversations he had with Hen in 6x16 were very telling and illustrated how he’s not ready.  He said, “This is not about the money Hen.  It’s a sign!” but she responded, “It’s a ring, an object. You can get another one.”  He shook his head no and replied, “The universe is trying to tell me something.  Every time me and Maddie, try to make something real and concrete… it falls away like sand.  Maybe it's time I start paying attention to that”.
The kicker happened in 6x17 when he asked Gina, the insurance representative if he should propose or not and he pleaded with her for her opinion.  She responded, “I think people look for signs when they’re afraid of making a choice.  Afraid to make the wrong one.”  Chimney responded, “Ouch! Brutal but probably accurate.”  When he asked her if she was married, she replied she’d been divorced twice and he asked if she regretted it, then she responded that she regretted the results not the attempts.  He was still unsure but when he finally went home and Maddie proposed, she didn’t let him finish what he was going to say.  She proposed and he said yes but they didn’t talk about either of their fears.
“Something stinks”
The theme of 6x16 was “something stinks” and every emergency the 118 was dispatched to involved something that was foul and odorous.  The first emergency was the woman with the tonsil stones and the next one was at the dump.  Chimney and Hen spent two hours searching for the engagement ring in that same dump until Athena arrived.  Therefore, could the theme of the episode be alluding to Maddie and Chimney’s relationship since they keep allowing things to pile up without discussing them?
Howard “Chimney” Han
Chimney barely had two solid storylines in season 6 and neither of them were given the attention they deserved.
He was completely under-utilized in 6A and he was treated like a recurring character until 6x9 when he and Hen went to the murder house.  Also, he really didn’t have any important conversations with anyone this season until the latter half of 6B.  He had one with Hen in 6x16 after he lost the engagement ring and he had one with Ravi in 6x14 about Ravi returning to the 118.  The flashback conversations he had with Hen and Karen in 6x6 don’t count because they happened years ago.
Some of the decisions he made were contradictory and out of character.  In 4x6 he said he believed in jinxes and in 6x7 he said the same thing about curses but in 6x9, he not only researched a “murder house”; he bought it.  Therefore it didn’t make any narrative sense for him to be the one to find the house but it was probably set up that way so they could bring in the Buckley parents.
Chimney’s interactions with Sang Han, his biological father were atrocious and were treated like an afterthought especially since Hen told him in 6x10 he needed to tell his father how much he hurt him by not being there and for abandoning him.  He didn’t have the conversation on-screen with Sang and in 6x13, he told Denny he let it go even after Albert’s mother guilt tripped him into believing he was prideful like Sang which is NOT TRUE.
Man of the house
In 6x10, Chimney was WILLINGLY going to give the seat at the head of the table in HIS OWN HOME to Phillip Buckley simply because the Buckley parents gave them the money for the downpayment.  If Phillip would have sat in that chair, it would have been a MISTAKE!  That’s his and Maddie’s home so they shouldn’t be relinquishing authority and the decision making to anyone because they’re the decision makers.  The gesture was nonsensical because Chimney wouldn’t have done that if they borrowed the money from someone else.  If they had borrowed the money from a bank, he wouldn’t have offered the chair at the head of the table to the bank’s CEO. So, WTH was that even supposed to be?
This instance relates back to the money issues that plagued their relationship all season and it’s not fair to his character.  He’s been on the show since season 1 but he’s been sidelined a lot and has been shown to play a background role to Maddie even though she didn’t arrive on the show until season 2.  Also, when she left in 5x3, he was sent off to find her even though he had a FULL SUPPORT SYSTEM IN L.A.  Buck and Albert were there and so were the Lees, therefore he could have stayed and let them help him raise Jee-Yun while Maddie could have gone to a facility in northern California (detailed posts that include this topic linked here and here).
For the entirety of season 6, Chimney was made to look like a guy who was prideful (comment made by Albert’s mother), irresponsible with money (Maddie’s comments about him buying ice cream and her paying more than 50% of their household expenses) along with the lost engagement ring and he was made to seem like a man who couldn’t adequately provide for his family (he couldn’t afford the downpayment but he could buy an engagement ring).  These were assassinations to his character and they weren’t fair, therefore, it begs the questions of why was his character handled in this manner?  Was it done on purpose?  If so, then it’s unclear since he’s a main character.
Captain
Chimney was a great captain in 2x17, 2x18 and 4x14 (he stepped up while Bobby was trapped in the warehouse with Ethan Copeland) when he wasn’t trying to emulate Bobby.  After season 2, he was never shown having any interest in being interim captain or a captain at all again and he’s mentioned he didn’t want it several times.  He said it in 6x1 and he said it again during his performance review in 6x14.
The way Bobby handled telling Chimney he’s a good leader was ridiculous.  First, they should have had the conversation they had at the end of 6x14 in 2x18 when Bobby returned after his suspension but since they didn’t, it should have happened in 6x1.  If Chimney is supposed to be the next captain of the 118, it doesn’t follow the narrative or the foreshadowing that’s been done over the last six seasons. It’s possible Chimney may become a captain at another firehouse instead of the 118. In 6B, it was hinted at when Chimney went to the academy and when he sat in Bobby’s chair in 6x16 that he "could" become the next captain of the 118 but the narrative has always shown Buck as Bobby’s mentee which means if it continues, it’s very likely Buck will be the next captain of the 118 not Chimney (more on this topic in next Monday’s post).  Ravi (mentee) is to Chimney (mentor) who Buck (former mentee) was to Bobby (former mentor) (post regarding this topic linked here).
On the job injury
Chimney being hurt was continuously foreshadowed throughout the season.  He was trapped in the car with that drunk driver in 6x4, in 6x10 he was supposed to be the one on the aerial but Buck went up instead and in 6x18 he got impaled with that piece of metal from the gurney after the bridge collapse.  These were all instances where he was either in danger or could have been seriously injured but like everything else, the finale was rushed and he was on the mend and back at work quickly.  In 6x14 he told Hen, Eddie and Buck that he would be there when they’re all gone but the question is, will he?  Who knows but if they keep foreshadowing his death or him experiencing a permanent injury, it’s possible it could be related to whether he becomes a captain someday.
Maddie Buckley
Maddie also had a limited number of storylines in season 6 and she was treated like a background character for most of the season too.  Aside from Noah trying to frame her in 6x5 when he stole her password because he thought she wouldn’t get in trouble and the coupon forger in 6x13, the rest of her on-screen time was the result of something else that happened, i.e. the proposal and Buck getting struck by lightning.  Chimney found the house and suggested they buy it in 6x9 and he was the one who was going to propose but she found the ring in 6x17.  Other than that, there weren’t too many storylines for her as a main character.  The prank her and Linda played on Josh in 6x9 was unnecessary.
Fear and uncertainty
Maddie’s still unsure of a lot of things and even though she said she was done running in 6x1, her reactions and responses to a lot of situations and emergencies were very LOUD.  In 6x9 she wasn’t comfortable with the house Chimney found but she went along with it because it’s what Chimney wanted.  In 6x10 she admitted she didn’t always have it right before her parents arrived.  She told Athena, Chimney and Bobby in 6x13 that she didn’t like feeling uncomfortable in her own home after the situation with Rhonda Fitzsimmons.  She told Hen in 6x17 that the people at the treatment center didn’t teach them how to reacclimate themselves back in with the people they know.  Furthermore, Maddie was always OUT OF THE ROOM whenever the difficult topics were being discussed.  When Chimney’s argument with his dad during dinner happened along with Buck’s sperm donation conversation took place, she went to check on Jee-Yun instead of staying for the discussion.  There aren’t any coincidences on the show which means these things were intentionally done but the reason was never provided.
Flashbacks of her life with Doug
In 6x4, the call she took from Claribel rattled her and she may have been having flashbacks to her time with Doug.  She was paralyzed with fear which is understandable so it begs the question as to why she and Chimney weren’t shown discussing it.  Also, in 6x13, Rhonda Fitzsimmons barging into their home made her feel unsafe and rightfully so but they didn’t talk about it after everything was over.  She was shown to be “going with the flow” again with regards to the house purchase.  She was unsure about it and it kind of seemed like she was doing it to make Chimney happy the same way she went along with the renovations.  Also, she told Josh at the end of 6x15 that she thought she’d never get married again but she and Chimney never discussed it since they were committed to each other and raising their daughter together.  Prior to the accountant mentioning it, had she ever thought about it?  Viewers don’t know and probably never will because she was barely on-screen in season 6 even though she returned to L.A. after 5x12.
Still absent from 118 gatherings
She wasn’t present with the 118 this season and her interactions with the three people she was allowed to talk to, i.e., Hen, Athena and Bobby all seemed contrived and weird especially since she’s interacted with all of them in the past.  Buck is her brother and Chimney’s now her fiancé but the saga of Eddie and Maddie not talking to each other in CANON continues (detailed post regarding why they haven’t or won’t until something happens linked here). She was absent from Hen’s medical school party in 6x5 but she didn’t have any problems walking into Hen’s house unannounced in 6x17 when she wanted to confront her about the things Buck said Hen mentioned regarding Chimney proposing to her.
Relationship with her parents
It’s unclear where Maddie stands with her parents because in 4x4 she told Buck she wanted her daughter to have a normal family and Buck told her she should have gotten knocked up by a guy who had one of those.  But in 5x12, she told the doctor at the hospital in Boston that she didn’t discuss her medical history with her mother.  The Buckley parents weren’t mentioned in season 4 or 5 after Jee-Yun was born and in 6x10 through 6x11 while they were there, the only real conversation she had with them was about Buck’s care.  Does she want to have a relationship with them or not?  Or maybe she wants to have one with them for Buck’s and Jee-Yun’s sakes which she said in 4x4 but that’s difficult to assess too since no one including her has said anything about it in more than two years.
Jee-Yun Buckley-Han
Jee-Yun is only two years old which means she may not get her own storylines for a while but her holding on to the engagement ring in 6x16 for safekeeping was great.  Hopefully, her character will become a main character soon since she’s the daughter of two first responders.
Madney’s Future
Based on the way season 6 ended for them, it appears a wedding is on the horizon but it’s possible it could be delayed for a while.  Even though the marriage proposal turned out great and it was awesome that Maddie was the one to do it, the season ended and THEY STILL HADN’T TALKED ABOUT THEIR ISSUES which is a problem all on its own.  There were also an abundance of unanswered questions for the Madney ship in season 6 including:
Where does Maddie stand with her parents?
Where does Chimney stand with his father?
How do they really feel about getting married?
Are they going to discuss their differences or just keep going with what everyone else expects or believes they should do?
Will they ever go to couples therapy?
Will they approach the topic of how fearful they both are of losing each other?
Season 6 didn’t do the Madney ship any justice because they deserved so much better than what they got.  A long-drawn-out marriage proposal without them talking about everything else was very LOUD.  They were shown to be two people who didn’t know each other but that’s so far from the truth because they were friends first and they clearly know each other but their relationship wasn’t handled properly for the duration of 6A and 6B.  It could have been better if the show would have allowed them to have their HAPPILY EVER AFTER instead of throwing all the foreshadowing into the mix.
Will the show address their problems in season 7?  Hopefully or otherwise they won’t be doing Madney justice because they deserve a HAPPY ENDING that’s not faked or forced.  How will things happen for them in season 7?  Will they get married early on or will it be delayed until who knows when like everything else was in season 6?  Only time will tell but hopefully, the Madney ship and Maddie, Chimney and Jee-Yun will get the attention they deserve.
These are my criticisms regarding the Madney ship and the individual characters included in the Buckley-Han family and “Constructive Criticisms” #13 will be posted on Monday, August 14, 2023.
I have a total of 15 CANON “Constructive Criticisms” (3 remaining) and my goal is to have all of them posted by Monday, August 28, 2023.  The topics are being posted in a specific order that begins with the overall issues for season 6 so they can be referenced within the posts about individual characters and ships that will follow them.

will never understand kids who yell at their parents because they bought them iphone 11 and not iphone 14.
because mai nokia ka keypad chala rahi hu.
like some of yall had unconditional love and support from your parents who never made you feel as if you didnt deserve anything and it shows.
kyuki mere ghar pe toh har ek cheez conditional h. marks acche nahi aaye toh bahar se accha khana deserve ni karte, naye kapde deserve ni karte, doston se baat karna deserve ni karte, abey aur toh aur "tution nahi bhejenge kyuki tum education ke layak hii nahi ho" (which is what i get to hear after asking to join a tution for the first time in my life in 11th grade).
like kabhi kabar lagta h ki aisi hii zindagi honi thi toh kyu 1st se 8th tak jee jaan lagake mehnat karke hamesha full marks laayi mai? uski appreciation kabhi di nahi, vo ab ho nahi raha toh sunne ko bhot milta h. saala uss time ye sab chodhke thoda jee hii liya hota, atleast life ka ek part toh khushi se nikalta. ab lag raha h 16 saal ki zindagi toh barbad hii kardi maine. uss time ki mehnat ab matter ni karti, par ab mehnat ho nahi rahi h.
it just...gets unbearable to watch other people living their life after a while ya know? like you look at people who are going out, having fun with their friends, doing what they love, having good relationships with their family, and just, like their problems are so much different? they may not have their life together either, but you envy them because you don't have the privilege to do the same as them, because you know you're the one to blame for the subjects you chose, the life you chose. you see them actually living, and realise that youre still stuck in a loop, waiting for your life to begin, as you have for as long as you have been alive.
a couple days back one of my friends adopted a dog and i had a breakdown over it because....ye toh mai bhi deserve karti hu na yaar. mujhe kab milega ye? kabhi milega bhi? abhi tak toh nahi mila. aur ab toh milne ke chances bhi itne kam hain kyuki dena mujhe JEE h.
you can't help but feel hopeless.
pehle lagta tha jab kuch bhi sahi nahi tha ki....koi nahi, atleast academics ho raha h. atleast acche dost hain ab bhi. atleast ek acche future ka prospect h.
and then you lose it all. nothing to comfort you. nothing to make you feel as if atleast one thing in your life is going right, because it isn't. because your life is just one huge black hole now sucking away your happiness, your sense of identity. mujhe khud nahi pata mai kon hu. ab toh dost bhi chutne lage hain.
like, outwardly yes ill work hard and get out of this, but what then? people say "it's just 2 years uske baad sab bhot easy hoga" but what they don't understand is that it's not just 2 years. ive worked hard my entire life, and im sick of the constant guilt, constant expectations, constant pressure. i dont know if i have it in myself to hold on for 2 years more.
fir agar tumhare coping mechanisms maladaptive daydreaming and internet addiction h then toh hogya bas tumhara.
i could go on for a millennia with this rant. abhi toh family trauma bhi touch nahi kiya h. but then that will just be another proof of "yes, here's another thing going wrong in your life"
like, i have to remind myself each day that i dont have anything to be shameful about, i dont have anything that i dont deserve. love shouldnt be conditional. support shouldnt be conditional. especially if love and support are from your family and if they are based on a handful of figures.
like if at this point if i go and start doing drugs and alcohol to get some relief then can my parents blame me? but i cant do that, because guilt!
when will this end? i just wanna sleep.
par sone ke liye 5 min shanti se letna padta h and mai apne khudke thoughts tolerate kar paane ki ability kho chuki hu.

The part I discuss in the end notes will have the * symbol before and after that section to denote when it begins and ends.

The one good thing about buddie not yet being canon is always getting a solo storyline for Eddie and Buck (and you are right, Chimney deserves his own storyline in 6b!)
I will forever be mad that Tim & Kristen (including Tim because he actually spoke about it to a journalist) decided Chim didn't need his own arc in Maddie's absence. FOREVER MAD. And people say "Oh, but Chim being gone really helped the audience feel how fractured things had become." Well, consider this: Chimney was a character before Maddie came along. Chimney is his own person outside of his relationship the same way not everything Buck and Eddie do has to be about/include each other. We could have had Albert (idc if fandom doesn't like him, he's literally family) helping out with Jee once or twice. We could have seen Henren (one one half of them) around her. We could have STILL seen the tension between Buck and Chim for a few weeks with them not talking and then they have a REAL scene where they put all that crap behind them. We could have had Uncle Buck even earlier (for those that care)! And for the Madney part of it, we could have gotten Chim reaching out and failing to get into contact, leading to a talk with EDDIE!! The guy who also had no way of knowing where his kid's mom was!! (That is not me saying the reasons for why they left are comparable or equally excusable, I'm gonna stop everyone right there. But it IS something that the show could have used to have the guys bond. Maybe that was what the deleted 5x04 scene was about, we don't know.) Even something like Chm being "kidnapped" didn't get the angst fandom expected. It was a "haha, how funny" moment with the soundtrack and the fact that his partner wasn't even aware it was happening (a big difference from how LS intertwines Judd and Grace's careers when they're apart). Stop disrespecting my guy, 911! This is supposed to be an ensemble show!
Getting back to the main point of the ask (this is why I don't talk about Madney/Chimney very often, lol), I think Eddie's solo storylines are better than Buck's, tbh - Eddie and Shannon was good because we saw his growth as a parent while she was still mentally stuck in her early 20s bitching about the past, the fighting arc, Eddie Begins > Buck Begins, EddieAna was better than BT because they made her look perfect (minus the ableism that the show handwaved) and Eddie was like "You're perfect, but not perfect for me." whereas Buck kinda...had no choice but to break things off? But...Eddie's arcs don't last as long because he's not the character the show uses to draw viewers in. 😶

i'm too sleepy for bingos today, so my predictions/hopes for 911 6x13:
poker date poker date poker date (free space)
sneak peak is the start of the poker date scene, we don't see anything before this, no explanations just two dudes dressed up for their date
poker date is close to the beginning of the episode and it's how we find out about Buck's new brain upgrades (if they really exist). i.e. poker date is a date from the start
not my idea but agree that likely there's a 'lafd/first responders trauma group' element to the meeting up. if this is not confirmed then i'm back to agreeing that they're all queer tho
my og theory on this one was that the poker game is a way of eddie showing buck that his luck hasn't changed - the talk of the lightning strike and lottery winning in 6x11 feels like it's due back around. this would also parallel buck taking eddie to equine therapy re: 'what if it's all random'. not sure how this plays out with buck having sudden poker luck due to maths though, this either doesn't work or there's a complex metaphor i'm too sleepy for (something about making your own luck/opportunities maybe?)
praying 4 bobby chimney shenanigans re: the neighbour issue
praying 4 bobby and jee!!! the jee babies were on set in Madney's garden at some point but i don't know which ep it was
i wonder if this is the ep we get someone hinting at Madney re: marriage? the neighbour presumably, and may play into 'performance anxiety' next ep
i don't think anyone's having a breakdown in a bathroom, sorry fam. at least, not buck or eddie (though i love the spec). maybe grossly related to the spin class 'tea' issue. oh i just checked the synopsis, maybe it's the husband and wife in a compromising position 👀
poker date is probably the main buddie scene in the ep - otherwise probably ensemble conversations and spare glances during calls
i have no spec for the hen/karen/denny storyline but i am itching to see how they tackle it
uh i guess i'll throw my hat in the ring for mehta making a shooting arc reference, because it feels like it should happen. i'm not quite sure how it's going to fit in the plot beats though so I won't be surprised if it doesn't
that's all i got today. signing off for ~14 hours and i'll see y'all on the other side

Hi! I know you said that it is possible to crack jee mains with a good rank but, i am not able to understand the concepts like i sat done with pyqs and stuff and hote hi nhi. i have spent so much time wasting already. idk. like physics and maths i hate them so much. maths m i know that practice does help me but, physics is so shit I can't even
Buddy, I'm speaking from seen experience here
There was this student in my class who was pretty weak throughout 11th and at the beginning of 12th too. But that kid worked very hard on clearing his concepts, practising tons of questions (basically keeping up with our homework) and asking his doubts (ranging from very easy to very complex), that soon he was shifted to another batch which had very few kids, who were given tougher questions and had proven to be consistent and resilient.
(He got an under 10k rank in mains, from what I remember)
That's what you'll have to do. Be consistent and resilient.
Make the effort, okay? It's worth it.
Also I can so relate to the maths thing. I was average in maths in the beginning of 12th, but I could have gotten better much sooner if only I had put in proper practise timely. Really, practise is the only thing that can help in maths.
I had good teachers for Physics, both from JEE and CBSE point of view, and I had to consistently follow up with both of them for doubts. For Physics, I would suggest such a routine:
Revise a chapter/topic -> Solve simple questions of said topic -> Mark the questions that you had trouble doing/couldn't do -> Attempt the problematic questions again, later in the same day -> Ask your doubts the next day -> Go home and re-attempt those problematic questions -> Move onto tougher questions with the same routine
Backlog will just keep getting collected if you don't give priority to the topics going on at the moment in your classes. Always, always give some priority to the ongoing topics. You'll have to make time for clearing the backlog, and one way to do that is either by waking up early or staying up late.
Hope this helps!

9-1-1 REACTION
This reaction is for the season 6, first episode titled “Let the Games Begin” which originally aired on September 19, 2022. The episode was written by Andrew Meyers and directed by Jann Turner. Spoilers ahead!
Tumblr media
Our favorite first responders are back with a new season, a new episode, and quite a few old, unresolved issues. This past Monday, we joined back up with the 118 and were immediately thrust into action. Last season’s blackout was a 4-part episode event and frankly it was a bit exhausting. This season’s big disaster opener features a dirigible crashing into a packed stadium. There’s fire. There’s chaos. There’s a girl with a artificial heart. While the disaster episodes are generally some of my favorites, I’m really glad they decided to scale this one back. Athena is able to locate the girl’s mom who has the backup portable artificial heart and Bobby and the 118 are able to rescue the two pilots of the crashed blimp. I kept waiting for something bad to happen to one of the 118 because the sneak previews have been hinting at something potentially life-threatening happening to one of our beloved characters, but everyone was safe and sound after this major disaster.
Rather than go beat by beat, I think it would be best to check in with each of our main characters. Let’s start with Bobby.
Tumblr media
Things got rough there towards the end of last season for our favorite captain and nearly losing Chim and Hen due to Jonah’s psychotic behavior almost ended his sobriety. Thankfully, Eddie managed to talk some sense into Bobby and by the end of the season finale, Bobby revealed that he would be taking Athena on a honeymoon. Flash-forward four months later, Bobby is being very meticulous with his planning for the cruise he and Athena are going on. We later learn from Athena the reason why Bobby is so hellbent on keeping the two of them so busy. The cruise ship has a LOT of bars and Bobby wants to ensure he is not tempted into drinking.
With Bobby and Athena away, someone needs to lead the 118. Bobby’s first pick for interim captain was Lucy Donato of all people. Apparently she has 10-plus years of experience on the job? Anywho, everyone seems pretty nonplussed by this news with the exception of Buck. More on that later. Anywho, Lucy has a broken foot or something (I really don’t care and I’m surprised they brought her back) and therefore unable to take on the role. Bobby ends up selecting Hen and everyone, even Buck, is okay with this decision. The only reason he didn’t ask Hen in the first place was because he was worried about her being overburdened. Ah, Bobby is such a good guy!
Let’s check in on Chimney and Maddie. Last season was quite eventful for these two even though they spent most of the season sidelined. After both returned from Boston, they decided what was best for everyone was to coparent Jee-Yun. We watched Maddie conquer her fears about being a bad parent and we saw Chim slowly begin to trust her again.
When the water is cut off in Maddie’s apartment, Chim invites her and Jee-Yun to come live with him. It doesn’t take long before the two of them fall into bed together. Naturally Chim freaks out and I thought it was so funny that he kept referring to him and Maddie sleeping together as a “one night stand”. Can you have a “one night stand” with someone you’ve had a long-term relationship with? Maddie wakes up alone in bed and has a freak-out of her own. She then has an epiphany while talking to Josh at the dispatch center. The abandonment she felt earlier than morning was only a fraction of what Chim felt when she left last season.
The two of them finally have a much-needed conversation and Maddie confesses she wants to be with Chim and Jee-Yun as a family. Chimney and Maddie are back together and no one is more thrilled than me! I hope this season is kinder to these two because after their rough courtship is season two and three followed by a difficult pregnancy in season four and then everything that went down last season, these two need a happy ending.
Tumblr media
Let’s talk about Buck. It’s been four months since he kicked Taylor to the curb and apparently she took his couch! I know most folks in the fandom were not a fan of Ms. Taylor Kinney. I never minded her and I always defended her as a character because the things people chided her for are the very same things that people celebrate about Buck. However, I feel like she really crossed the line when she went behind Buck’s back  and exposed Jonah last season. Her actions could have jeopardized his career as a firefighter and put Hen and Chimney in even more danger. Nevertheless, our beloved Buck is single again which means he has plenty of time to spend with his not-husband, Eddie, and his not-son, Christopher. Seriously, I love how much this show toys with the Buddie shippers. It’s borderline cruel at this point. Excuse me while I cackle. Okay - I’m done. Back to totally straight Buck and totally straight Eddie and their modern family.
Buck complains to his bestie about Bobby overlooking him for the interim captain position and I honestly hate how dismissive the characters on this show are when it comes to what Buck is feeling. The only person who ever goes out of their way to validate Buck’s feelings are Hen and that’s why she is fully-deserving of being the new interim captain.
Christopher takes a moment to remind Buck he doesn’t have a sofa while Buck is making food for the three of them. Buck points out that the couches came with his exes. Eddie then reminds Buck that it’s been four months and he’s yet to replace it.
Buck goes out of his way to impress Bobby in hopes he will be chosen for the interim captain position but ultimately loses out to Hen. When he confronts Bobby about it, Bobby explains to Buck that while no one goes harder than him when it comes to the job, he lacks the experience that Hen does. Kudos to Buck to acknowledging that the captain is right and I love the advice Bobby gives to him when Buck admits the real reason he hasn’t replaced the missing sofa in his apartment. He’s afraid of making the same mistake again. Bobby tells him to take inventory of his life and admit his shortcomings so that one day he can finally be at peace. Pretty solid advice from everyone’s favorite Papa Bear. At the end of the episode, rather than get a new sofa, Buck moves his lounge chair to where the sofa used to be signifying his contentment with being single.
Tumblr media
There’s not much to report on Hen but outside of her getting the interim captain position, we learn that she is about to finish her second year of med school. I’m so happy the writers have decided not to abandon this storyline because maybe one day when 9-1-1 comes to an end, we can get a spin-off show featuring Dr, Henrietta Wilson.
We’ll finish things up with Athena. First of all, I love Athena’s new hair. I didn’t like it when she had it pulled back in the opening scene but when she had it down later in the episode, I really like the length and it suits her. I also want to remind everyone that Angela Bassett is 64 years old and looking flawless. I love her and I’m so excited to see what they do with her character this season.
On top of getting May prepared for her first year of college and getting ready for her honeymoon cruise with Bobby, Athena is also still adjusting to Harry being in Miami with Michael and David. Admittedly I guffawed when I heard her mention Michael, David, and Harry. For starters, I really hated what they did with Harry last season with the whole kidnapping and then him acting out because he blamed Athena. I think the writers also realized how insufferable Harry had become which is why he was shipped off to the other side of the country with his dad and soon-to-be stepdad. I hated to see Michael and David go but good riddance Harry.
Tumblr media
After an episode filled with near-fatal emergencies involving blimps, car dealerships and wedding rings, I was pleasantly surprised by how happy things were this episode. Then the proverbial shit hit the fan in the last few minutes of the episode. During a call with her parents who seem to have warmed up to Bobby since we last saw them, Athena witnesses via FaceTime her mom get run over by her dad. And yup, that’s where the episode ends. I know this episode was filmed way before the whole Anne Heck incident but I couldn’t help but think about that when I saw Athena’s dad drive through his house. I guess we'll find out what happens next week!
Overall, I was very pleased with this season opener. We got a disaster which I quite enjoyed and while it wasn’t a multi-episode affair like I’m accustomed to, I’m so glad they changed things up. Who knows! Maybe we’ll get another disaster episode later on this season. Another thing I quite enjoyed about this episode was how it put all of our characters in very interesting places. Hen is the new captain, even if temporary. Buck is single again. Chim and Maddie are back together. Bobby and Athena are finally getting to spend some much needed time together. It’s so good to have the gang back again and I can’t wait to see what happens next! Until next time!

Evan “Buck” Buckley: Taylor Kelly was the “Random Girl” in a bar
Tumblr media
The analysis included in this post is based solely on the characters, their story lines and the scenes as shown in CANON. When the narrative is followed it is easier for viewers to understand why things happen the way that they do on screen.  The writers of 9-1-1 are notorious for doing callbacks to previous seasons to illustrate the process of a main character’s growth or the lack thereof.  Recurring characters are just that, recurring.  They recur for a specified length of time until they are no longer beneficial to the main character’s arc. Then they are gone.
Let’s be clear, Buck went from having sex with multiple random women in season 1 to having sex with a single random woman in season 5.  One of his hookups in 1x1 “Pilot” told him “You’re cute and you’re very good at whatever it was we just did but let’s not ruin everything by actually getting to know each other.”  His relationship with Taylor was definitely related to his Buck 1.0 days because they never took the time to actually get to know each other either.  He didn’t know her and she definitely didn’t know him.  They also didn’t trust each other so how could they have ever uttered the words “I love you” and “Good, love you too” in 5x9 “Past is Prologue”?
In 1x1 he admitted to Bobby that he was a self-diagnosed “sex addict” after he was fired for having sex in the ladder truck with a woman he met on a call.  He used sex as a coping mechanism while he was Buck 1.0 and he subconsciously continued with that type of mind set throughout his relationships with Abby, Ali and even Taylor.  It’s clear he had the wrong understanding of how love works and that was due to his trifling parents.  Buck experienced a lot of childhood related trauma and after 4x4 “9-1-1 What’s Your Grievance?” and 4x5 “Buck Begins” the audience learned the reason why he’s like that.  He was emotionally, physically and mentally ignored by his parents which contributed to his reckless behavior regarding relationships.
At the start of 5A, he still had abandonment issues because the people he loved kept leaving him; Maddie, Chimney, Jee-Yun, Eddie and Chris and after two previous relationships, Buck still hadn’t learned that loving someone does not equal abandonment.  All of the people that left didn’t leave because of him, they left because of their situations and while they were gone, they still loved him.  So, what did he do after they left?  He clung to Taylor and she clung right back.  After he kissed Lucy in 5x11 “Outside Looking In” and finally fessed up to it in 5x13 “Fear-O-Phobia”, his main concern was if Taylor would stay or leave. The thing is Buck was still operating like he did in season 1 with Abby because when they were at the airport he said, “I’m going to be right here when you come back, ok.”   She responded with “Take care of yourself” which meant she wasn’t planning to come back. When Taylor left the apartment after he told her about the kiss, he thought she was gone for good but when she came back he said “Hey, you’re back? Are you back?”  She was back but it wasn’t because she wanted to be which was similar to the response Abby gave him in 3x18 “What’s Next?” when she came back and didn’t apologize for abandoning him.
When Taylor said, “I don’t care that you kissed some random girl in a bar”, she was actually talking about herself because she was the random girl in the bar in 2x8 “Bucktually” who not only kissed him but she also had sex with him in that bar.
Tumblr media
That’s why she didn’t care because she remembered that’s how her and Buck’s whatever they had started. She didn’t care about him then and by the end of 5B she still didn’t care about him or his feelings. Keep in mind their random hookup happened after they originally met in 2x6 “Dosed” when he first learned he couldn’t trust her due to the story she wanted to air that would have embarrassed the 118. Prior to her buying him a drink, he told Chimney he didn’t want to be that guy anymore and he told Bobby the same thing after he hooked up with Taylor. He went to apologize to her to let her know that wasn’t all he wanted from her but the issue was she hadn’t changed her mind about him.  She reminded him that she bought him a drink and that she wasn’t upset about their hookup inside of that dirty bar bathroom.  She wanted a second hookup with Buck so she suggested they have sex in the news van.
Tumblr media
It didn’t go too far because her phone buzzed which alerted her that there was a breaking news story, so she told him she had to go and then left him embarrassed in the parking lot with his pants unzipped and unbuckled.
Tumblr media
When he invited her to dinner in 4x8 “Breaking Point”, she misunderstood the invitation because she said “When you invited me over, I thought it would be the two of us. Maybe some dinner and maybe some sex” which means she never intended to get to know him outside of having sex with him and her motives were still the same, she wanted to hookup with him again and not work towards anything substantial, real or trustworthy.  She embarrassed him again in front of Veronica and Albert when she said Buck has a problem with “strong women”, she called him “needy” and that he couldn’t stand it when people didn’t like him.  Does that sound like the conversation of someone who wants to get to know you?  NO!!!!
Tumblr media
Actually she had already made up her mind about him and she was the one who was still sending mixed messages especially after all of the times she friend zoned him in 4x8 “Breaking Point” and 4x12 “Treasure Hunt”.
Tumblr media
In 4x14 “Survivors”, once again she was the same girl who randomly kissed him and ran after he was traumatized from witnessing Eddie being shot.
Tumblr media
Fast forward to 5A and consider how unhappy Buck looked every time he was trapped in his loft with Taylor. He was perplexed because he couldn’t believe a relationship was supposed to be that difficult.  He considered what Thomas told him in 2x8 about “making it” but he obviously didn’t understand how relationships take work. He believed suffering through a relationship with Taylor was making it when it was actually the opposite.
In 5x18 “Starting Over”, it started to click for Buck in the firetruck when Ravi (thank God for Ravi) said, “Isn’t that what we all want in a partner, knowing that they have your back?”.  But the final puzzle piece didn’t click into place for him until he was talking to Maddie about a Rom Com movie (possibly “50 first Dates”). He said, “Is that really love?  Shouldn’t it be when you’re at your worst or they’re at their worst, you have every reason to give up and you still decide you want to try again?”  Abby was at her worst with him in season 1 but she didn’t want to try again even after she abandoned him and found a fiancée.  He was at his worst after the ladder truck crushed his leg with Ali but she abandoned him and didn’t want to keep trying let alone try again.  Finally both he and Taylor were at their worst together because she kept putting her job before him and he wasn’t getting what he needed from her; therefore he finally realized he was the one who didn’t want to keep trying.
The lack of trust between them was the thing that ultimately broke them up because trust is the foundation of Buck’s job and his life.  Firefighters must blindly trust one another when they are running into burning buildings and scaling cliffs to save victims.
Tumblr media
He realized he never trusted her and that he never would be able to trust her, so he finally decided to end it.  When she said, “I’m sorry you’re still upset about the story.”, she was confirming his decision to end it because she proved in that moment, she still didn’t know him.  She was the one who didn’t want to complicate things by getting to know him beyond what they could do in the bedroom.  If she truly knew Buck, she would have known that breaking his trust was the ultimate betrayal and she wouldn’t have continued putting her job before him. She assumed he would get over her embarrassing him yet again like he did in 2x8 and 4x8 which led to his realization of how she kept doing the same thing over and over again expecting for him to stay with her.  When she said, “You knew who I was when you started dating me”, that was the nail in the coffin because he hoped she would have changed for him, but she didn’t. He replied, “I guess I thought I could learn to live with it” causing him to finally remember that he trusts those he works with every day but he couldn’t fathom the idea of being in a relationship with someone he couldn’t trust.
Tumblr media
Buck had to be the one to end it with Taylor instead of her ending it with him because he wouldn’t have learned anything from it if he hadn’t.  It would have been like Abby and Ali were abandoning him all over again but at a 3.0 level. Even if Taylor had gotten a job in another state, in Buck’s eyes, she still would have been abandoning him.  Taylor never changed she was still the same “fun reporter girl” who only wanted to have hookups with Buck but never wanted to be in love.  Therefore he would never have been better or learned from his past mistakes if he stayed with her.
Make no mistake, 9-1-1 is writing a Love Story but it is not a love story for Buck & Taylor!
Buck and Taylor’s relationship was not some “Gone with the Wind” or “Romeo & Juliet” love affair.  It was actually very toxic and they were both at fault for allowing it to continue as long as it did.  It shouldn’t have taken them one year to figure out they weren’t right for each other. Quid pro quo is never the way to go in any type of relationship and that’s how it ended up being between the two of them in 5x14 “Dumb Luck”.  It had become transactional/conditional (you do this for me and I’ll do this for you) not unconditional. Love is unconditional and that’s what they would never have with each other because you have to know someone to love them.
He realized in 5x18 that doing the same thing over and over again wasn’t working for him and since she never changed, even after he asked her to move in, there was no way it could continue. After he told Eddie, “Taylor and I are still avoiding each other.  I know we have to talk but I still feel so angry. I feel like whatever I say, it’s just going to be mean”.  Eddie said, “You can’t put if off forever.  If you keep that anger and resentment bottled up, eventually you snap”.  He told the 118 he thought things would “magically work themselves out” but that wasn’t realistic.  He had to end it and he realized avoiding the issue wouldn’t resolve anything.  Ultimately the break-up was somewhat amicable but it would have been a lot more effective for him if he had told her in 4x14 that he wasn’t in a good place to be in a relationship and it would have been better if they just remained cordial with one another.  That would have kept boundaries in place for them and he would have been able to recognize any conflicts of interest.  They were both trying but it wasn’t working; therefore they were both at fault for not ending it with each other.
Buck wants a partner who trusts, loves, takes care of him and wants to build a family with him and the truth is; he already found all of that in Eddie.  They started building their self-made family on a foundation of trust in 2x1 “Under Pressure” and in 2x2 “7.1” after Eddie showed Buck a picture of Christopher and they’ve continued to build it over the past four years.  He had no issues running to help Eddie and Christopher in 5x13 and he stuck around to take care of both of them through the end of 5x14.  He has already filled the role of co-parent and life partner inside of the Diaz household; therefore the love story that’s being told is theirs-Buck & Eddie’s.  Will 9-1-1 continue to tell their story in season 6?  Only TPTB know the answer to that question.

JEE Advanced Exam Pattern
JEE Advanced is a national level engineering entrance examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) for admission to undergraduate engineering programs at the IITs and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER). The exam is held annually and is the second stage of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), the first stage being JEE Main.
Here is the exam pattern for JEE Advanced:
The examination is held in online (computer-based) mode.
The examination consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both papers are of three hours duration and are held on the same day.
Each paper consists of multiple choice questions (MCQs) and numerical answer type (NAT) questions.
The MCQs have four options, out of which the candidate has to choose the correct answer.
The NAT questions require the candidate to enter a numerical answer.
The examination is conducted in English and Hindi.
Each paper is divided into three parts: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
The Physics and Chemistry sections have 20 MCQs and 5 NAT questions each. The Mathematics section has 10 MCQs and 5 NAT questions.
Each correct answer in the MCQ section carries 3 marks, while each correct answer in the NAT section carries 4 marks.
There is a negative marking of -1 for each incorrect answer in the MCQ section. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers in the NAT section.
Benefits of Knowing The Exam Pattern of JEE Advanced
Knowing the JEE Advanced exam pattern has several benefits :
It aids candidates in helping to improve their level of preparation
It familiarises candidates with the variety and quantity of questions
It also provides a clear self analysis about the negative marking system, which aids evaluation in reducing errors
Improve your time management skills, and also your speed and accuracy, for the exam
As such, before beginning IIT JEE preparations, it really is best to review the JEE Advanced paper pattern
It will assist you in eliminating basic mistakes that you may end up making as during examination leading to a lack of knowledge about the marking scheme
Apart from that, candidates should get a thorough understanding of the JEE Advanced syllabus
It is important to be aware of the exam pattern and to prepare accordingly. This includes understanding the syllabus, practicing with previous years' question papers, and revising the concepts regularly. This will help you develop a strong foundation in the subjects and increase your chances of performing well in the examination.

Things Parents Should Consider Before Selecting a CBSE School
CBSE schools have proliferated in both urban and semi-urban areas throughout India. This increase in growth comes from the curriculum's tried and tested formula that consistently places innovation and conceptual understanding at the forefront of its mission. We must understand that boards of education have the same long-term goal of providing the best educational standards, but their methodologies are what separate them.
Now we will see all those points that can make your search for the Best CBSE School in India easier. Let's discuss all the points that should be considered of paramount importance when it comes to finalizing a good CBSE school for your child.
Why CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education)?
CBSE is one of the best curricula in India and one of the most prestigious education councils, recognized by the National Council for Research and Training in Education (NCERT). It is a popular choice among students who want to study traditional engineering or medicine.
CBSE offers a curriculum that has been thoroughly researched and meets international standards. It is widely accepted and recognized throughout the world. The cumulative approach of the CBSE curriculum helps students remember concepts and build new ideas. The two core subjects in the CBSE curriculum that help students prepare for competitive exams are mathematics and science.
CBSE patterns are followed by competitive entrance exams in India such as IIT-JEE, PMT, NDA, CDS, and other civil and defense services. Therefore, if your child decides to study abroad at any time in the future, the CBSE curriculum will not be a barrier to further education.
5 Things to Look for When Selecting a Good CBSE School
1. Managing Small Transitions is Important in a School
The turning point for students begins when they enter grade 9. CBSE schools have to administer subject enrichment activities for each student on a mandatory basis. Each CBSE school has to do projects that help students to facilitate learning. If you want to choose the right school for your child, make your selection based on the guidance provided to students.
2. Is the School's Emotional Foundation Strong?
It is the parent's responsibility to be very vigilant once their child reaches sixth grade. After grade 6, only the students begin to form their academic careers and other things. Before that, teachers provide other ways for students to learn, draw, play mind games and improve communication. After a student enters the sixth standard, attention should be shifted to academic development, and the student also experiences various psychological changes and struggles with them the most. It becomes the responsibility of parents and teachers to take care of them at all times and help them overcome them. Choosing a school with a strong emotional foundation can help your child manage her emotions accurately.
3. Your Child Comes First
Remember that your child always comes first. CBSE schools in India will always have an interesting and impressive infrastructure, perhaps well-recognized and high performing, but it is always better to take care of your child. The best way to understand if your child will thrive in a CBSE meeting is to introduce them to the elementary CBSE curriculum when they are young and assess how they relate to that literature.
4. Security
Security is the main thing that parents expect from schools in India. Before enrolling your child in a CBSE school, it is important to assess the security measures available at the school. Check the sanitization and safety protocol. Ask about the staff vaccination protocol and policy. Ask the school if they do adequate background checks on teaching and non-teaching staff.
5. Visit
When you find a school that seems like a great fit for your child, it's smart to visit to see the study halls and meet the staff and staff. While at school, you should be allowed to visit with the principal, teachers, and other tutors to find out what the assumptions are for parent input, how staff and staff connect with students, and what the learning climate is like. general.
Affordability and security
6. Affordability and Security
The emolument follows an excellent infrastructure and an established educational curriculum. An unduly expensive fee structure is a delimiter for those seeking a quality education. At PGPS, we strive to get an education equal to that of boarding schools in India with an affordable approach.
In addition to imparting knowledge, we also make sure to keep our students safe and secure on school grounds. And for that, we have installed security cameras inside the building facilities and all the security policies that a school must have.
