so the shitty week paid off because we not only got internet back on but our friendly florist gave us a big present! also that trumps everything - got to pet a cute little doggo. i'm happy :)

Carlota "Charlie" Luz Morales-Stacy AKA Ghost-Spider and Max Jorge Morales-Stacy AKA Kid Arachnid
Charlie is a journalist and works with Mary Jane on her podcast.
Max works at an MMA gym owned by Aunt Billie (Miles's younger sister). Max is currently training Jeet Kun Do.
Max trains upside down.
Charlie has a powerful spider sense that is near psychic. The downside it gives her anxiety attacks.
Charlie loves sweets and candy.
Max tends to eat a lot of food. Favourite Dim Sum.
Charlie and Gwen love to watch Period movies.
Max and Miles love going shopping. Miles likes going for shoes and Max loves shopping for baseball hats.
Charlie draws a bit...but it's not good.
Max is a good dancer.
Charlie is shorter than Max, but it doesn't mean she can't kick his but.
Charlie as GhostSpider is very strategic and stealthy whereas Max is more hands-on as kid Arachnid.
Charlie can speak Spanish, French, and Italian, and Max can speak Spanish, Cantonese, and Japanese.
Max is a bit laid back and goes with the flow.
Charlie has inherited the Morales glare from Rio and Gwen's blue eyes make her glare terrifying
In the Morales-Stacy home, the family has a habit on walking on celings.
Charlie tends to sit at the corner of the ceiling which freaks ou Papi-Jeff and Grandpa George.

PLEASE ENJOY THE FOLLOWING PHANTOM! JAZZ AU, ONE SHOT, I THOUGHT OF.
Jazz Victoria Fenton is a fresh college student and Amity Park's resident ghost superhero protector named: "The Phantom." The inhabitants of her hometown were now facing a new monster hunter developed by the guys in white dubbed "The Spector Slayer." On a roof of an unnamed building Jazz now gets into a defense karate stance and inspects the Slayer.
As Jazz inspected the Slayer, noticing he wore a suit designed to fit the style of a ninja-styled grim reaper, the suit looked reasonably similar to her parent's prototype super suits. Still, it had some specific variations to it.
For example, the armor looked futuristic, probably built with nanotech machines. The armor shade was dark blue, with bright white complementing the blue.
It looked like it would fit a person with a light heavyweight 6ft body stature, not overly muscular, but could fit someone with a decent, slim muscle build. The hood of the suit looked almost like a reapers hood, with it being colored jet black along with the cape attached to it. The material on the cape was probably a leather-styled material built for glider-based mobility.
The mask the Slayer wore only covered his ears, nose, and entire chin, only leaving his eyes visible. The mask reminded Jazz of the game Mortal Kombat the one her brother played a lot with Tucker, where this one character Noob had a face mask that looked very similar to the one the Slayer wore.
But what had caught Jazz's attention the most was the Slayer's eyes. They had the same navy blue color that reminded her of her missing younger brother Daniel "Danny" Vladimir Fenton.
"Danny?"
Jazz asked, shocked at the idea that this menacing figure could be her little brother.
The Slayer didn't say anything, only tilting his head in confusion, but he then readjusted himself in an aggressive attack stance, looking like a mixture between judo and jeet kun do. The Slayer's eyes harden into an intense murderous glare, making Jazz's skin crawl.
The Slayer hears a voice through his mask that is Agent O from the Guys In White. It sounds full of determined pride and disgust, erupting to reach The Slayer's ears, but only one command is uttered.
"Slayer combat protocol 432004 has been initiated. Eliminate the ghost girl."
After those words had been spoken to the Slayer, his eyes had started to dilate rather quickly, and then they were colored purely engulfed by a dark blue. The pigment shined and glowed like a new diamond.
In a flash, The Slayer moved so quickly from Jazz's perspective that it seemed like he teleported. This movement surprised her enormously as Jazz was just registering that her maybe brother turned super soldier monster slayer had. Just. Teleported. In front of her very eyes, a swift punch connects to her face hitting with a harsh Pow as the Slayer's fist lands on Jazz's face, sending her a few feet away and making her back hit a railing on the roof of this unnamed building.
"Ok… That was super painful."
Jazz says she regains her balance enters a defensive karate stance, and dashes to attack the Slayer. Each blow she tries to use is either blocked or strategically countered with a more vigorous blow from different martial arts such as; wing chun, jeet kune do, and boxing.
Each hit felt light baseballs being thrown at her at 15 miles per hour. The pressure of the punches had begun to put Jazz in a dazed state, but she needed to find a way to outmaneuver this opponent.
The Slayer dashes to connect an acrobatic jump kick; however, Jazz quickly turns intangible, making him phase through her completely. He lands in a kneeling position. The Slayer turns to face Jazz, only to see that there were now ten of her surrounding him.
"Danny, please, I don't want to fight you; it's me, Jazz remember? Your big sister?"
One clone of Jazz tells The Slayer he now just stares at each clone curiously. He had wondered why his target called him that and why she looked so familiar. Sadly, before any semblance of his target's memory could return, Agent O Yelled into Slayer's ear.
"SLAYER. DO. NOT. BE DISWAYED BY THIS THING! DESTROY HER NOW!"
After that, a sharp shock hits The Slayer. It felt as if a Taser was scratching at his mind. He grabs his head with both hands relatively in a violent tight fashion; after that, memories return. Flashes of a home, his parents, friends, and then…
"KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL HER KILL…"
The Slayer's body goes deadly stiff and limp for a few seconds. One of the Jazz clones walks up to him touching his shoulder. After she does so, The Slayer, in a blindingly quick fashion, grabs the hand, pulling the clone closer then a fast slash is heard.
Then the clone evaporates, revealing a singular scythe powered by ectoplasm.
[Authors note: Like death from Darksiders.]
Ectoplasm blasts are shot at The Slayer. Even a few clones dog pile on him, trying to pin him down to not only slow down The Slayer but also give the original Jazz a chance to think of a plan to knock out The Slayer.
Then rather aggressively, the clones that the dog piled on him are pushed off of him, sending each one far back, and then another ectoplasm-powered scythe.
Meanwhile, the original Jazz is now trying to stay invisible to find an opening to overshadow and incapacitate her possible missing brother, the clones are a decent enough distraction, but most of them are being quickly outmatched by the speed, as well as strength of The Slayer and being sliced apart by the Slayer's duel welding scythes.
Though every single clone is being dispatched, Jazz notices an opportunity. After the last clone disappears with a devasting set of slashes to aid in that predicament, Jazz from behind tries to overshadow the Slayer and try out her new special attack. Which is a strong psychokinesis attack intended to keep him knocked out for 6 hours. This attack surprisingly works.
After a few minutes, Jazz sees The Slayer's mind seeing all of his memories, which confirms her suspicions that The Slayer is her brother, and she sees why Danny went missing.
All Jazz feels now is anger. The guys in white are going to pay.

이소룡과 친분이 있었던 주변 사람 인터뷰를 모아 편집한 책이다. 제목을 '知中'이라 한 이유를 대충 짐작해 "중심을 알았다"거나 "중용의 도를 깨쳤다"는 것인 줄 알았는데, 구글 검색하니 '知中 = Zhi China'라고 나온다. 즉 '中 = 중국'이고, 정확한 건 아니지만 아마 '지중'이란 이름의 잡지가 있는 듯. 뒤늦게 원제 확인하니 'Things About China'였다.
한때 무술 덕후로서 최배달과 이소룡 뒷얘기는 알만큼은 알고 들을 만큼 들은 바지만, 그럼에도 이런 책 읽다 보면 소소하게 몰랐던 게 튀어나와 재밌다. 또한 오래도록 잊고 있던 것들을 상기하게 해 준다. 가령 서림문화사에서 나온 '절권도의 길(Tao of Jeet Kun do)' 상하권을 열심히 읽었던 거. 번역이 거지 같아 뭔 말인지 모르는 게 절반 가까이나 됐지만... 지금도 (배우 이소룡 이미지로 인해) '절권 = 절대 주먹'으로 오해하는 이가 얼마나 많을런지? 내 주변 사람들에겐 '절 = 截 = intercepting'이란 의미이고 '截拳道 = The way of intercepting fist'임을 알리긴 했지만 그래봐야 십수 명 정도에 불과하다. 이소룡 추구했던 궁극의 무술 철학은 노자에 나오는 상선약수(上善若水)였다. '절대 주먹'은 이것과도 맞지 않는다.
또 하나는 이소룡이 행했던 훈련법을 정리한 '몸으로 표현하는 예술(The Art of Expressing The Human Body)'라는 책. 나도 한동안 이거 보고 따라 해봤지만 두 달쯤 하다 증단했다. 한마디로 너무 빡세서. 그리고 내가 허약체질이란 거 깨달음. 게다가 집중력을 잃으면 큰 부상으로 이어질 수 있는 위험한 동작도 좀 있었다.
이소룡이 1969년에 남긴 메모가 인상적이다. "나, 브루스 리는 장차 미국에서 몸값이 가장 높은 슈퍼스타가 될 것이다. 그 보답으로 울림 있는 영화를 만들어서 사람들을 감동시키겠다. 1970년부터 세계적으로 유명해지고, 1980년까지는 천만 달러의 부를 축적할 것이다. 그때가 되면 가족들과 즐겁고, 화목하고, 행복한 삶을 살 것이다." 요즘 표현으로 '근자감'이라고 할만한 다소 황당한 문장이지만 실제로 이소룡이 죽기 직전까지 해 놓은 업적을 놓고 보면 허언이랄 수는 없다.
이소룡이 차차차를 잘 췄다는 건 꽤 많이 알려져 있다. 그가 직접 정리했다는 82가지 차차차 스텝 노트 사진은 이 책에서 처음 봤다. 제목이 'CHA CHA FANCY STEPS'이다. 유감스럽게도 영상으로 남아 있는 이소룡의 춤사위는 좀 별로였다. 무술처럼 진지하게 접근한 게 아니고 오직 유흥 목적으로, 동네에서 막춤 추는 춤 선생에게 대충 배운 느낌. 하지만 스틸 컷은 꽤 그럴싸하다. 혹시 유튜브에 그동안 못 봤던 게 올라와 있지 않을까 잠깐 검색해 봤으나 새로운 건 없었다.

hey can I get a romantic match up for Cobra Kai, I am bisexual (w no real preference) I am an Aquarius, either an entj or intj I can’t remember, and a Gryffindor. (She/they) I am 5’4” short (neck length?) curly hair, freckles. I used to be a gymnast and do SOME martial arts mostly self defense stuff (jeet kun do) until a leg injury and eventually surgery to fix it where I ended up in and out of a wheelchair for a month and a half. Still Ik recovery but now I do archery. I am a huge movie buff and I’m an artist. My vibe/aesthetic changes VASTLY depending on whatever idfk at this point but mostly go w the flow. Like I said I’m an artist mostly sketch and painting. I love movies, books and comics and I’ve been trying to get into gaming. Before the injury I also liked skating (basically anything w wheels) idk about dislikes ig people at times but I’m also an ambiavert.

So, with this video, I got curious as to how Jackie would fair given I play her more like a stern Bruce Lee-type over the intended Jackie Chan she was named after, the only concern I had was that I'd make up some things up to bolster points.
But I though I'd do it anyway, whilst trying to be as honest and fair with it, so here goes:
Jeet Kun Do - Yes - While created by her ancestor Bruce alongside Hung Gar, it becomes Jackie's main fighting style, replacing her family's main Hung Gar style.
One Inch Punch - Yes - Part of the move-set, often used when Jackie is using her semblance to boost herself.
Flying Kick - Yes - Part of the move-set.
Nunchaku - Yes - Uses two pairs as one of her weapons' modes with the alternative move being combination of them into a staff mode similar to Sun's weapon.
Shirtless - Yes - Would be done in private given Jackie is a lady.
Physique - Yes - When you're as well-trained as Jackie, it'd come naturally.
Tracksuit - Yes? - Homage via a set of pajamas for her, would maybe count on technicality.
Dragons - Yes? - The name of the Jeet Kun Do fighting style, and born on the Year of the Dragon, otherwise, she's lion-themed.
Nationality - Yes? - Complicated given RWBY & Mythril don't have a China, but she'd hail from the counterparts in those worlds.
Haircut - No - Has a longer hairstyle similar to Hong Meiling from the Touhou series, even in her Future-era appearance.
Nose Flick - Yes - A quirk of her's.
Battle Cries - Yes - Part of how she sounds during fights.
Chest Scars - Yes - Gains them between Present Era & Future Era, usually hidden by clothing
Finger Wag - Yes - Used when working with junior student/s
Phone Fingers - Yes - Part of how she fights.
Total Points - 14 - Only if the "Yes?" ones are allowed, otherwise, it's 11.
She'd likely get a few extra points with clothing homages and referencing certain lines such as "be like water" or "don't think, feel", but I don't exactly have the means to get commissioned art done to get those points, nor have I had Jackie use those quotes in any form yet.

Do you think Kawada likes Shaman King? Cus prim and proper lady with a Jeet Kun Do bodyguard sounds awfully familiar, doesn't it?
I'm always a sucker for lovestruck girls, so seeing Hanagasaki instantly fall in love with Bruce Lee and martial arts was immediately endearing for me. I know I said a couple weeks ago that I figured I'd like her a lot, but I didn't expect Kawada to lean this hard into making me do so
It also helps that she clearly does care about Takanori. She says that she wants to be like Bruce Lee, and she certainly seems like the type of strong-willed person to decide on a career path for a whimsical reason like that, but it's also obvious that she's doing this for Takanori's sake too. He loves MMA and has real talent for it, but he was going to give up any chance of going pro so he could focus on protecting Hanagasaki. I'm not going to say that she used MMA as an excuse to let him pursue his passion, but I am going to say that she saw an opportunity that would make them both happy and made sure to take it
Man, in one chapter, they established such a strong and endearing dynamic. They're definitely in the lead for my faves in this series. Plus, Hanagasaki's first punch has exactly the sort of aesthetic that I was hoping to see: her attacks are directly compared to fencing techniques, and even have flower petals for flare! I always wanted one of the National Treasures in Hinomaru Zumou to use a leaf or petal aesthetic, so I'm glad that Kawada looks to be making that happen at long last! Here's hoping we get to see Hangasaki's bloodlust!
Actually, I think that might be the thing that MMA is missing compared to Hinomaru; until Asumi's Water Hammer, all of the moves were just moves, none of them were given exciting imagery to really sell the weight of the moves. If Kawada starts bringing that concept back now, I think readers will start to get more on board going forward. Hopefully other people like Hanagasaki as much as I do!
...Ah, I just realized that I've been calling Takanori by his given name and everyone else by their family names. Oops! I'm already used to it, though, so I'm probably going to keep it up. I might end up changing everyone else to given names over time, but we'll see
To cap it off, I'm not really sure how this fight is going to go. I could see it going either way, since Kawada is the type who likes to build tension by making his characters lose fairly consistently, but he also probably wants to build hype by making Okiba wrack up a good winning streak. We've seen her fight twice, and she won pretty easily both times, so it seems pretty likely that she'll have a more hard-won fight here, but at the same time, Hanagasaki seems like she might be being built up as a major player, so having her lose in her first match while this is Okiba's third might not be the best showing for her (even if she's had three victories off-screen)
Either way, aside from what it will do for both Okiba and Hanagasaki's characters, the purpose of this fight is ultimately going to be to create tension between Asumi and Takanori, as no matter who wins here, their fight will be a revenge match for the honor of their fallen maidens. I get the feeling it would be more compelling for Takanori to be the one taking revenge since his character is more defined by loyalty than Asumi's is, and Asumi would already need to overcome having his confidence shaken from Okiba's loss in the fight with Kuronuma anyway, but it's really hard to say
I'm really looking forward to this fight, and as the first major professional match of the series, I'm willing to bet it's going to be the one that sets the bar for the rest of the series
