Buonasera lettori ♥️ ~ Il libro di oggi mi ha letteralmente conquistata e lasciata col fiato sospeso, cosa che non mi capitava da tempo, soprattutto con un fantasy! Vi parlo di “Sangue e cenere”, primo volume della serie di Jennifer L. Armentrout, edito da Harper Collins 🗡️🥀 ~ La protagonista è Penellaphe, detta Poppy, ma conosciuta come la Vergine, colei che è destinata a salvare il mondo grazie ai suoi poteri, donati dagli dei. Per questo deve essere sempre nascosta agli occhi degli altri, non può parlare o essere toccata fino al giorno della sua Ascensione. Ma Poppy è determinata, coraggiosa e leale, tanto da combattere e muoversi di nascosto per aiutare il prossimo. Almeno fino all’arrivo della sua nuova guardia, Hawke Flynn, che sembra condividere molto con Penellaphe e nascondere altrettanto. ~ A livello stilistico presenta alcune lacune, ma il modo in cui l’autrice racconta la storia, gli stati d’animo e le vicende, rende impossibile non immedesimarsi. Presenta inoltre una protagonista ottima, a mio parere, perché non si fa mettere i piedi in testa, rischia tutto per ciò in cui crede e lotta con tutta se stessa per la giustizia, insieme al protagonista maschile di cui penso sia raro non innamorarsi (che ve lo dico a fare)! ❤️‍🔥 Una coppia già di per sè potente, a cui si aggiungono altri personaggi con dell’ottimo potenziale e tutti i colpi di scena necessari a lasciare con l’immensa voglia di acquistare il volume successivo. ~ A voi è piaciuto? When readers say,

"The ACOTAR series better not be like The War of Two Queens," I say

Do you know Sarah Maas at all? She is known to usually introduce the mates of the protagonists mid-series. That was why we were even contemplating if she was going to pull a 'Rowan' or 'Rhys' on us in Crescent City with Hunt Athalar.

Do you know Jennifer Armentrout? She is known to stick to her endgame couples. That was why it was a shock to us on how she wrote TWOTQ.

I've read comments say Sarah better not be pulling a Gwynriel or Lucien-Vassa on us like what Jennifer did with Poppy-Kieran-Cas. I mean, do you really not know your authors at all? Sarah is not Jen and vice versa. Why compare them when they both deliver good stories in their own unique writing styles?

Will it be unexpected to have Gwynriel and Lucien-Vassa as endgame? NO. Like I said, Sarah is known to change couples mid-series and she has pulled it off splendidly in the past. So stop comparing Poppy-Cas-Kieran to ACOTAR because they are wholly different. Just because you want another couple to be endgame doesn't justify your argument. Enough sabotaging these authors.

So! Once again reading faster than I can post 😂I finished the From Blood and Ash trilogy a few days ago and WOAH. I am so anxious for book four to come out next year!

Out of all three, book 1 was probably my favorite. I did enjoy book 3 immensely, but I found there was a lot of..repetition (the stupid dimples right?).

°

Overall, it was most definitely worth the read, and a series I will most definitely be adding to my physical library 🤗

So I fell into a sort of reading slump in the midst of trying to binge my way through the Grishaverse and found myself really struggling to through King of Scars because I was exhausted of the same scene day in and day out.

I had been looking for something to break it up and knew that I had just bought a physical copy of Blood and Ash (finally) but its’ not due to arrive yet. I saw ‘Storm and Fury’ on her list of other works and read the synopsis and was immediately drawn in. As my first introduction to Armentrout’s writing this was fantastic, I have no regrets or hesitations honestly read this if you have not!

I literally bought the kindle version at around noon and blew through the whole thing in about 6 hours wanting more and more! The story line was so cool and the characters were awesome. I did not realize until just a little while ago that this is a spin off of Armentrout’s Dark Elements series but you don’t need to have read it in order to understand this book or enjoy it because it was GREAT!
