You’d think a movie about an attractive vampire who can’t get laid and is played by Robert Sean Leonard would be more popular have more fanfiction about it but I’m here starving I’ve checked Wattpad. I’ve checked Ao3 and I’ve checked Tumblr. NOTHING

Meeting and Dating Jeremy Capello
Tumblr media
(Not my gif)(Requested by anonymous)
- Jeremy Capello was never someone you paid very close attention to. In fact, your own interest in him was almost entirely prompted by his own sudden; and somewhat unnerving, fixation on you.
- You guessed it wasn’t fair to call it sudden; you weren’t exactly sure how long he’d been paying attention to you, but you were certain that you’d noticed it one day and subsequently every other consecutive day after that. It became an anticipated moment of your algebra class: if only in an attempt to try and figure out exactly what it was about you that warranted his stares; if they were even on you in the first place.
- Most people have a sort of sixth sense when it comes to noticing when someone or something is looking at them and it was that very sixth sense that alerted you to the boy in question. You’d picked your head up out of your textbook at the prickling sensation of “being watched”, fully expecting it to be your teacher monitoring the class or a student staring at the clock nearby; giving the allusion of them looking at you, but a slow and subtle glance around the room showed you otherwise.
- Brown eyes observed you somewhat shyly from a few seats away, peeking at you in a way that automatically read as an attempt to be inconspicuous; an obviously failed attempt at being inconspicuous but an attempt nonetheless. He glanced away when your eyes met his own and you questioned whether or not the events had actually unfolded; or more precisely whether he’d actually meant to be looking at you or not.
- Admittedly, you weren’t very popular yourself. Most people didn’t consider you one of the sex symbols of the school so having a boys genuine attention on you; in your mind, was more or less out of the question. You second guessed yourself the rest of class until you’d decidedly forgot all about it; chalking it up to him staring into space and you misreading the situation.
- Lucky for you, Jeremy has a staring problem: one that allows even the most self deprecating of girls to realize that they have a not so secret admirer.
- Jeremy has a little popularity under his belt so while he’s certainly not high school royalty, it’s easy enough to find someone who knows who he is: allowing you to put a name to his; admittedly, handsome face and letting your mind ease up on the paranoid, stranger danger scenarios that have been bouncing around in your brain for the past month and a half.
- You don’t know just how far his infatuation with you goes but if little old ladies can trust him with their groceries, you’re sure that you can trust him too. After all, you’ve only ever seen him during school hours: it’s not like he’s followed you around town or something …unlike some people....
- With this in mind, you ignore your friends typical giggles and/or chastising comments towards him and relish in the fact that somebody has a thing for you: a thing that’s currently only serving as ego fodder and not affecting you in the slightest.
- Depending on your standpoint, fortunately or unfortunately, things don’t stay that way for very long....
- Soon enough, you start to notice strange little coincidences. Two men and the same white van seem to be following you around town, and if you thought that you had a stalker case with Jeremy, you think you owe him an apology because these guys are definitely stalking you.
- You know that they are, because unlike Jeremy, you see them everywhere and they are definitely watching you: acting like the most stereotypical and inept criminals you’ve ever met.
- It’s enough of a distraction that you don’t even notice when Jeremy trails after you after school one day, only realizing that he’s been following you out to the parking lot when he greets you and awkwardly tries to make small talk. You stand and talk with him for a bit, answering questions about how you are and if you’ve got any plans for “tonight” before he asks you if you’d like to go out with him, an invitation that you mull over for a little while before he finally manages to convince you to agree.
- He excitedly; and with a hint of surprise, tells you that he’ll pick you up at seven that night and the two of you say goodbye: your eyes following him as he skips off to his best friends car before your gaze inevitably glances back towards the white van, watching as the vehicle pulls out of the parking lot and follows the red car away from the school.
- You’re at a store later that day when the two men that’ve been trailing you around town try to approach you. Their attempts at seeming like normal individuals probably would have been more effective if they hadn’t more or less interrogated you about the boy you were meant to go out with that night. Their casual tones and beat around the bush questions doing nothing to mask their strange urgency as they tried their best to keep you with them for as long as possible; pushing through your obvious discomfort and rushing out more comments as soon as you tried to excuse yourself.
- Truth be told, prior to your date with Jeremy, you were entirely certain that the two men were interested in you: that you were dragging an innocent bystander into this concerning situation that you found yourself in and not the other way around. But, not long into your first date, you realize that that might have not been the case...
- Everything was going perfectly fine; even if Jeremy occasionally acted slightly strange, up until you mentioned the two men who were sat a few seats away from you; trying their best not to look like they were looking. Jeremy stiffened in his seat immediately, eyes going wide as his gaze flitted to the table the two men were seated at.
- In a matter of seconds he was clumsily standing up and apologizing profusely, telling you that he really needed to go and dashing out of the restaurant before you could even ask him what was wrong; leaving you sat alone at your table with nothing left to do but eat your pizza and call your parents to pick you up.
- You went back and forth that night debating whether or not you should give the boy a second chance; should he ask for one, and contemplating what could have made him abandon you on the date he was seemingly so excited for in the first place. Was there a valid excuse for abandoning you in a pizza parlor with little to no information as to why? Your friends certainly didn’t think so.
- They immediately “informed you” that you shouldn’t give him the time of day, that his behavior should have blown every last chance; or what little chance, that he had with you in the first place and they made sure to pull you away the next day at school when he made a beeline for you in the parking lot; telling him to buzz off when he asked if the two of you could talk.
- For the time being, he left you alone, solemnly realizing that he wouldn’t be able to get to you when your friends were around. Though he did visit you later that night, knocking at your window once the sun had set and scaring you half to death as you turned around and found him sitting behind the pane of glass.
- Once you let him in, he apologized for his behavior the night before and explained that he was “going through something”; purposefully leaving out exactly what that something was, but that he liked you a lot and didn’t want to mess things up and ruin his chances with you entirely.
- Afterwards, he more or less begged you for a second chance and though you were hesitant, you relented and told him that you’d give him another shot but that you weren’t going to put up with anything and that he’d have to be truthful with you.
- Things were better after that, though they were still a bit rocky. Jeremy still acted strangely from time to time: skipping out on you with rushed excuses, pulling away abruptly from your affection, appearing in places randomly; usually with the same older man who you’d never seen in town before.
- But, other than that, he was a perfectly normal and sweet boyfriend. And though your friends still weren’t too fond of him, they accepted that you liked him and that he didn't treat you badly. He might have been a weirdo but they couldn’t say he didn’t care.
- Though, even if things were going relatively smoothly, you were still in the dark about what his “problem” was. Your mind conjured up scenarios that ranged from drugs to physical/mental illness, your ideas growing more and more absurd the longer the two of you dated, but nothing could have prepared you for the actual truth.
- One night, after the two of you finished one of your most successful and normal dates to date, you’d said goodbye and shared a kiss on your front porch, listening to him drive away as you moved to unlock your front door.
- In the midst of this distraction, a pair of hands wrapped around you and pulled you off of your porch kicking and screaming, a hand clasping quickly around your mouth as they pulled you into an all too familiar white van and tied you up in the spacious back.
- Obviously, the two men who’d been following you around town for the past few months were to blame and you silently congratulated yourself for being correct in your assumptions of them having bad intentions as you cursed them out from your newly freed lips.
- They assured you that they were “doing this for your own good” between your vicious exclamations, rambling on about “saving you” and you “being in the company of the undead”; ignoring your accusations of insanity.
- Soon enough, you were being transported into your towns old church: more annoyed than scared; considering the fact that the two men hadn’t really harmed you in the slightest; besides a few accidentally tugs and bruises.
- Still, you were eager for this night to be over, and you were soon granted your wish as Jeremy burst through the front doors of the church like the terminator, panting and wide eyed as he searched the building with a call of your name; his attention focusing on your captors once they decided to speak up.
- Well, we all know how Jeremy and Modoc solve their vampire hunter problem so we’ll go ahead and skip to the good part: the part where you reunite with your boyfriend after finding out that your captors weren’t nearly as crazy as you thought that they were and that your boyfriend didn’t have nearly as normal of a problem as you thought that he did.
- The two of you stood in the graveyard, clinging to each other as you watched the group of vampires disappear off into the night, your head resting in the crook of his neck as he held you close. He asked you if you were alright and you assured him that you were before he asked if you were “alright with all of this” to which you joked that you’d always been a fan of Dracula, laughing along with him as his arms tightened around you.
- Before the night ended, he introduced you to his parents and you went to sleep with a new view of the world; one that seemed far more magical than ever before....
- Jeremy is pretty obvious about how down bad he is for you but he’s still somewhat shy when it comes to showing you affection; especially when you’re around certain kinds of company. Depending on where you are and how you feel about pda, he’s either boyishly innocent or shyly seductive: either doing nothing more than putting an arm around your shoulders or fully making out with you in the front seat of his car.
- He throws his arm around your shoulders quite a bit; especially when you’re sat next to each other, but when you’re gingerly walking side by side, he’ll usually choose to hold your hand and casually swing your arms back and forth.
- He has a habit of kissing up the side of your face: your neck, your jaw, your cheek, your temple, and lastly your hairline. It’s usually used as a greeting; after he’s caught up with you and pulled you into his side, but he does it just because sometimes as well.
- Soft, slow kisses.
- He mainly calls you by your given name but he also calls you “a babe” as a compliment so that’s technically a pet name, right? I’m sure it’ll bleed into his everyday vernacular soon enough so if you really want a nickname, just give it time.
- He so badly wants to sleep in the crook of your neck, but god help you if you let him: you’ll wind up with half your teeth knocked out cause he’s too busy jumping away from you before he takes a few pints with him to notice where his heads winding up. If you want to cuddle, stick to wearing turtle necks and the time just after he’s eaten.
- Going to your towns little makeout point. Sometimes, it’s just to admire the view, other times it’s …well, ...to makeout. Occasionally, he’ll take you there when he wants a bit of affection but is too shy to say anything, and the only reason you allow such a bold and audacious move is because he’s always two seconds away from turning into Fred Flintstone with how hard his leg is nervously bouncing.
- Occasionally having to break apart from whatever it is you’re doing so he doesn’t completely ravage you: in the bloody sense, not the sexy sense. He’s not comfortable with feeding from you; regardless of your opinion on the matter, so he always stops himself before he gets too ahead of himself: which you learn to appreciate since it shows he genuinely cares about and doesn’t want to hurt you.
- Listen, Jeremy is an absolute dork like 90% of the time but if he’s older than you or goes to a different school or whatever, once he graduates and no one knows who he is, he comes off as a too cool for school douchebag in shades. It’s highly amusing to watch everyone around you whisper to themselves about “who he is” when he comes to pick you up in his expensive looking car, and waiting all of two seconds for him to do or say something endearingly dumb once you get in the passengers side seat.
- Although, that’s not to say that he can’t be sexy or cool because sometimes, he can really surprise you.
- He never does get over his staring problem, though, and that’s part of the reason why you’ll always see him as the geek from your algebra class. He gazes at you like he’s completely under your spell: which is pretty comical since it should probably be the other way around; given his undead affliction.
- He can’t help but blurt out that you’re “really attractive” and other stunted compliments whenever you dress up or otherwise fluster him. He can be pretty damn adorable when he wants to be.
- Receiving dozens of roses for the littlest of things. It’s canon that Jeremy sends flowers to girls after they have sex with him so do with that information what you will.
- He’s definitely more of a board games and bingo nights type of person rather than a club scene kid so a lot of your dates take place inside rather than out.
- He always brings the snacks whenever the two of you hangout and he’s taken to doing your grocery shopping whenever he comes over to your place after work; which earns him a few brownie points in your parents books. You also have a habit of doing your families grocery shopping as an excuse to go and visit him at work.
- Pizza dates ...no garlic.
- Having dates at abandoned and otherwise morbid areas; even though he’s kind of a wimp. He likes the privacy they provide; especially at night.
- Sneaking out to spend time with him after dark. It makes him happy but it also makes you exhausted. But hey, that’s the price of love, right? He gets his pigs blood and you get your energy drinks.
- Having Ralph third wheel a lot.
- Going out walking and exploring the town.
- He probably goes to the occasional vampire party and takes you along with him; so long as he knows they’re going to act friendly. Sometimes, you’re looked at like a it of an appetizer, but mostly, they look at you like Jeremy’s pet and whisper to each other about how eccentric he is for keeping you around.
- He’s really torn on the whole “turning you” thing. On one hand, he really doesn’t want to, but at the same time, he wouldn’t be able to live without you and it’s not really an option for him to just date you until you’re 90 and die of old age; even if he’d love you all the same.
- That being said: he’s a pushover. He’s been one for as long as he can remember so you’d probably be able to convince him to turn you if you really wanted him to: though he’d definitely save it until after you graduated, at the very least.
- Helping him keep his secret and stay hidden from vampire hunters.
-  Reading his vampire guidebook together so you both know how everything works. He always makes sure to read out the more interesting aspects of his new affliction whenever you’re sitting together doing your own things.
- Trying out some of his vampiric powers; though he’s usually a bit hesitant whenever you try to make him do something to you. He’s not keen on accidentally messing you up because of his inexperience.
- Getting caught doing weird shit: like inspecting his teeth or laying shoulder to shoulder under your beds. Not the worst thing your parents can walk in on but definitely one of the harder ones to explain.
- Helping him shave and do other mirror needed activities.
- Catching up with and talking to Modoc every now and again. It’s nice being able to ask someone questions without having to worry if they’ll eat you before you can get your answer.
- Ralph trying to convince you to hook him up with one of your friends, or having double dates with him and his new vampire girlfriend. The two of you probably get together and have “human talk” (a form of girl talk) where you talk about your supernatural significant others.
- Speaking of: Jeremy and your friends probably have that stereotypical best friend and boyfriend rivalry. They don’t like each other but they both love you so they try their best to get along.
- Your dog either loves or hates him: there is no in between. Your cat, however, hates him, yet Jeremy still loves it more than he cares to admit.
- His parents are always really welcoming and happy to see you. You’re free to walk into the place like you live there; the same way Ralph has ever since middle school.
- That being said, you still sneak in through each others windows and occasionally camp out on the roof.
- Surprisingly enough, he has a pretty big habit of teasing you. It’s mainly to make you laugh or smile but he also just likes seeing you get; fondly, annoyed with him and his joking shenanigans. With peace and love: he has no dignity, and he loves to see you happy so expect a lot of stupid little jokes.
- I have a feeling that he builds model airplanes in his spare time which also means that he’s really good at painting your nails since his hands are steadier than a fucking surgeons. It’s one of the things he does to pay you back for all the times you’ve done his hair.
- He’s definitely the type of guy to apologize profusely and then apologize for apologizing so much.
- You never have to feel embarrassed about something when you’re with him: he always tells you that he understands and he means it wholeheartedly. I mean, he expects you to accept that he’s a literal vampire: it’d be kind of hypocritical for him not to accept little flaws of yours as well.
- Jeremy likes girls who most people don’t like. He likes seeing the different sides of them that most people typically don’t care enough to notice and because of this, he usually doesn’t have to worry about jealousy. But every now and again, somebody does become interested and he’ll be forced to feel a certain way.
- Jealousy isn’t really the right way to describe it, it’s more like a sense of possessiveness: a sort of “no wait, I saw her first and you don’t care about her like I do.” sort of feeling. So yeah, it’s a mix between protectiveness and possessiveness and he isn’t above knocking a guy on his ass with his mind powers whenever he feels that way.
- That being said: Jeremy really isn’t a violent person. He makes more threats than he’s willing to follow through with and he makes the fact that he doesn’t actually want to fight pretty obvious; even when he’s trying to protect you.
- Jeremy really isn’t good at fighting with you and the two of you rarely have a reason to anyways. He’s always quick to stop himself before things get too out of hand and he relents pretty easily whenever an argument starts: even if he has a tendency to snap a bit when he’s uncomfortable or embarrassed.
- He gets depressed whenever you’re mad at him and usually has to be comforted by one of his friends before he’s willing to get out of bed and try to apologize again. He’s really good at saying all the right things when you’re upset with him and he’s not above apologizing or “begging you to forgive him” so you rarely stay upset for very long.
- That being said: on occasion, you have threatened to eat garlic and it was the equivalent of you locking him out of your bedroom. Like “c’mon y/n, I said I was sorry. Just put the pizza down and let’s talk about this.”
- He says he loves you all the time and overthinks it if you don’t say it back. He’d probably ask you some overdramatic question in response to your not saying it so that you couldn’t help but laugh and finally say it back to him.
- Neither of you are completely sure of what the future holds but he’s intending on staying by your side for as long as you’ll let him.

speaking of underrated vampire movies, what are some you’d recommend! i trust your taste in movies💗
Off the top of my head, the ones that come to mind are
Near Dark (1987)
My Best Friend Is a Vampire (1987)
Martin (1977)
Fright Night (1985)
Vampyr (1932)
Y’all know I love Near Dark and Martin, but I do wanna take a minute to shout my love for My Best Friend Is a Vampire from the rooftops because what a weird and fun movie.
Pre-Dead Poets Society Robert Sean Leonard as funniest vampire of all time Jeremy Capello. “The mirror’s not working.” Rene Auberjonois as his vampire mentor/uncle who Jeremy’s parents think he’s in a gay relationship with and subsequently begin reading books about how to support their gay son. Surprisingly good handling of a gay subplot for a 1980s movie (not perfect but a lot better than other stuff from the era). Several car chase scenes in a vampire movie. Actress who’s definitely supposed to be Molly Ringwald but this is low budget so they got someone who looks like her. Kathy Bates is in it for like 3 minutes!
