Title: Airborne Toxic Event WC: 900
“Love conquers all. Oh, it’s all gonna be fine.” —Tory Westchester, The Fifth Bullet (2 x 11)
Love is in the air. It makes no sense. It’s December. It’s the terrible, frantic doldrums between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Love has no business being in the air.
This is her long-term position, in general. Since she was a teenager—since grunge and flannel and punk and leather were a major part of her life—she has seethed at the onset of engagement ring season. She despises the barrage of commercials for mall jewelry stores and secretly wonders how she might get her hands on divorce statistics that would surely support her hypothesis that anyone dumb enough to get engaged over the holidays is unlikely to be in the market for a couples Halloween costume.
And, of course, her objection to love in the air this time of year is . . . highly specific. She absently traces the circumference of the face on her father’s watch any time her hands aren’t occupied. She absently traces it, staring off into space, when her hands should be occupied. The heel of her palm finds the outline of her mother’s ring and presses it into her sternum a dozen times an hour. Love in December is an impossible thing, because January will come. It  always comes.
But love is quite decidedly in the air this year. It ranges from annoying to perplexing to downright shocking. She comes face to face—or face to . . .  something—with Angelica Fink’s tearful demand to know what she is supposed to do with her after-market breasts in her newly widowed state. It falls to her, ultimately, to deal with Tory Westchester’s deranged adoration for a man she has literally made up. She’ll file both of those under shocking, but also wearying. She is dedicated. She is empathetic by both instinct and effort. But she’d love a little less love in her job, this time of year.
At first blush, she’s inclined to file Emma Carnes under shocking, too. She braces herself when she makes the phone call, post–Lucy epiphany. She’s prepared to strong-arm the woman who surely wants nothing to do with her ex—particularly this time of year—but she can hear Emma gathering up her coat, her keys, her bag. She can hear the ding of an elevator and the way her voice fades out and back in as she juggles the phone, rushing out the door to come to the aid of a man to whom—as it turns out—she has not spoken in a year. A holiday break-up for the evidence file, it seems, so what on earth is the woman doing here, eager to help, yet taking her shots about hot young women and leaving the toilet seat up? What is that even about?
Being shocked is easy. It’s the path of least resistance. She could shake her head and mutter Poor bastards. Poor, foolish bastards. And yet Emma Carnes and the man who once was Jeremy Preswick win themselves a place in the more labor-intensive “perplexing” column, ultimately.
It’s his fault. How could anything love-is-in-the-air related not be his fault? She’s reasonably sure, in fact, that both Angelica Fink and Tory Westchester are figments of his imagination, sprung from the page. She’s sure that tortured romance of Emma Carnes and Jeremy Preswick is some invention of his, too—some fever dream now walking the streets of New York, arm-in-arm, chocolate lab in tow. If round two of that hot mess isn’t the product of his abnormal brain, she is not sure what would be.  And still, figment of his overactive imagination or no, invention of his or some naturally occurring phenomenon, she is perplexed, not shocked, by Emma Carnes and Jeremey Preswick.
She has never had to contemplate what she would do if she were in Emma’s shoes. Not her exact shoes, of course. Who even has shoes for that made-for-tv-movie scenario? But there has never been a scenario in her life where she has had to ponder custody of a special needs dog. There is no one from her past who’d merit her spending any time whatsoever on the question of whether or not to help them lawyer up against a murder charge.
She has an artificial history. She has a before and after her mother’s murder, and it just so happens that two roads diverged when she was just nineteen. She was a child. She was such  a child up until that January night. And then she was, forever and ever, Amen, not a child at all. On both sides of the divide, she would have—must have—rejected the idea of love being in the December air.
It’s an artifact, her disdain. It is something carefully, deliberately crafted. It’s a performance she pulls out and dusts off every year this time, as surely as others hook their fingers into a loop of hopelessly tangled string lights with who knows how many burnt out bulbs.
It’s hard to maintain in the face of this case, in the face of the perplexing love story of Emma Carnes and Jeremy Preswick, Lucy’s parents, who might be on their way to happily ever after. It’s hard to maintain in the face of him crouched down, reveling in a strange dog’s kisses—or in the face of him wringing his hands over his mother’s matters of the heart.
It’s hard to maintain her curmudgeonly facade when it’s December and love is in the air.
A/N: This was 100% about to be about Martha's romantic dilemma and Castle trying to involve her in that drama, and then Brain Poneh just grabbed hold of the calendar and ran with it.

Chronicles of Love and War (chapter 19)
“It ain’t weird that I still kept this, right?” Scout wanted to know, clutching something in his hand.
Spy looked up from his newspaper, squinting. “Kept what?”
Scout approached, placing a stuffed panda onto the table. “Squishy Panda,” he clarified, as if introducing Spy to an old friend of his. “I keep him in my bag…I got him for my birthday one year. He’s like…a buddy to me…is that weird?”
Spy instantly recognized the panda, and he felt his heart grow soft.  “No,” he replied after a moment of observing the toy, his voice tinged with a mix of melancholy and fondness. “It’s not weird at all, I promise you.”
Scout smiled up at him, a little relieved as he pulled Squishy Panda closer to him. “Okay…thanks. I just…I dunno. After today, I just kinda needed this guy,”
“I understand,” Spy assured warmly. “Did you tell your mother what happened?”
Scout shook his head. “Nah - I mean, how would I explain it to her? Like, some freaky pig-thing with outta-this-world powers made me think that that guy who shot Joey way back when was following me? No, thanks!”
“I’m sure she might understand,” Spy assured gently, before he looked towards the TV room. “I hear music - what’s going on in there?”
“Demo’s got the TV on, I think he’s watching music videos or something,” Scout shrugged.
Just then, Angelica stepped into the room, smoothing her hair away from her face. “Hey, boys!” she chirped. “What time is it?”
Spy checked his watch. “It’s getting close to dinner time…” he sighed a little. “I hope Dell made it to the hospital…”
Angelica tilted her head in surprise. “Oh, no, what happened?”
“He…” Spy trailed off for a moment, before giving a little shrug. “One of his family members is being hospitalized, and Dell went to visit him,”
"Oh, no...hope everything’s okay,” Angelica commented as she approached Jeremy and briefly fiddled with his hair. It was then that she noticed Squishy Panda. “Aww, you brought your panda buddy!”
“Aw, ma,” Scout giggled, a little embarrassed. “Yeah, I did…”
“I always thought he was the cutest,” Angelica hummed, fluffing the bear’s fur. “Funny thing is, I don’t remember buying him…” she looked to Spy, raising a curious eyebrow. “Unless…?”
Spy tried to keep his composure, but he couldn’t stop the smile that came onto his face. “Unless, what? Unless a certain someone may or may not have picked that bear out at a modest uptown market?”
Olivia suddenly rushed into the kitchen, waving a cup with a piece of paper pressed to the opening.
“I caught a bug!” she squealed, running up to Spy and shoving the cup into his face. “It’s a big gross one, it was crawling on Lucy’s shoe!”
Lucy came running in after Olivia, assuring, “It’s okay, I wasn’t scared of it!”
Spy recoiled from the cup in disgust. “Ugh! And why are you showing me?”
Scout stepped in, plucking the cup from Olivia’s fingers. “Hey, thanks! Maybe Sniper will eat it!”
“Eww, what?” Lucy exclaimed, wrinkling her nose.
“I’m just joking!” Scout laughed, and he opened the window, tapping the cup to toss the bug outside. Once it had flittered off, he closed the window. “There we go!”
“Aw, you learned that from me,” Angelica crooned, pleased.
Merasmus walked in through the front door, ducking as the ceiling was too low for his tall stature. “Lucy, we will be going home soon. Do you have everything?”
Lucy nodded, walking over to her father and taking his hand. “Yes, daddy. Are we gonna get something for dinner?”
“Yes, of course,” Merasmus smiled a little, tucking a bit of Lucy’s dark brown hair behind her ear.
“Are you sure it’s wise for you to leave now?” Spy asked, concerned. “I assume Zelda’s still tied up in the basement, but what if she gets free?”
Merasmus sighed. “As long as she has those handcuffs on, she is as harmless as a fly, trust me. If anything does go wrong, however, give me a call.”
“Wait,” Angelica turned to look at Scout and Spy, bewildered. “There’s a woman in the basement!?”
“She’s a witch, ma!” Scout insisted. “She’s gotta be there so she doesn’t do any freaky magic crap.”
"Okay..." Angelica didn't seem reassured by that thought, glancing towards the basement door.
“In any case,” Merasmus cleared his throat, beckoning Lucy. “We must be going - come along, Lucy!”
Before turning around to follow her father outside, Lucy stopped to give Olivia one last hug.
“Aww, I’m so glad you two are friends,” Angelica smiled, bending down and carefully adjusting Olivia’s bow.
“Yeah, me too…” Olivia agreed, though she felt an odd discomfort that she couldn’t explain. Her mind flickered back to what happened at the park, though she tried not to think about it.
Outside, as Merasmus made his way home with Lucy, he decided to ask her, “Did you have a good time with your friend?”
Lucy nodded, though she only stared at the grassy ground ahead. “Yeah…it was fun.”
Merasmus sensed something was off, so he pried a little further. “Did everything go all right?”
“Yeah,” Lucy nodded again. She got very quiet, her hand coming up to fiddle with her braided hair.
“I see…” Merasmus stopped walking and he tucked his finger beneath Lucy’s chin so she could look at him. “If something is wrong, Lucy, you can tell me. You do know that, don’t you?”
“I know,” Lucy affirmed, putting her hand back into her father’s. She paused again, and then admitted, “I think I used my power…just a little…”
Merasmus got very quiet, staring down into his young daughter’s face. “Really?” he asked finally. “And what happened?”
“Nothing,” Lucy blurted out, perhaps a little louder than she meant to. “I-I mean…it wasn’t a lot…we were just playing in the playground…it wasn’t that much!”
Merasmus pursed his lips together. “Well…if it wasn't too serious, I suppose it’s not a problem. But just be very aware of your surroundings - you would not want the wrong type of person to see you.” He gave a small smile before stooping to lift Lucy into his arms. “We will work on it another time.”
Lucy nestled against her father's shoulder as he took her home, birdsong filling the air.
Back inside, Zhanna curled up against Soldier, nuzzling into his arm while humming. “Mm…so nice…”
Soldier cuddled back, running his broad hand through her dark hair. “You beautiful woman! Every time I look at you, I want to kiss you like there’s no tomorrow!”
“Do it,” came Zhanna’s gleeful reply. When Soldier obliged with numerous kisses on her cheeks, lips and neck, she giggled.
Just then, a knock at the door yanked the lovers out of their moment of tenderness. Zhanna quickly untangled herself from Soldier, calling out, “I am coming!”
She got up and went to the door, undoing the locks before opening it. Heavy stepped it, smiling warmly at her. “Hello, sister,” he greeted. “Someone want to see you.”
“Oh?”  When Zhanna widened the door, Olivia could be seen standing there. “Olivia!”
“Hi!” Olivia chirped, just as Zhanna knelt down and wrapped her in a sound hug. Olivia returned the hug, and after a few seconds, she looked up. “How come you have to be in this room?”
“Safety,” Zhanna explained, rising back up carefully. “To protect me and baby,” she gestured to her belly with her prosthetic hand.
“Oh…” Olivia stepped into the room and looked around, wrinkling her nose. “It seems boring, all you have is a TV!”
“Nonsense!” Soldier barked, and he held up a game of Scrabble, still in its unopened and unwrapped box. “We have this good old American game of Chances!”
Olivia squinted at the box. “No, that’s Scrabble! You should get books in here - I have lots of books! I have one that’s about King Arthur,”
“Oh, books are nice,” Zhanna agreed, taking her seat on the sofa again. “Mama gave me…books on tape? Yes, that’s what they are called,” she held up a box full of tapes, as well as a small tape-player.
Olivia stepped over to the box, peeking inside. “So, they’re books? But someone reads them to you on a tape?”
“Yes,” Heavy confirmed, pulling up a chair so he could sit as well. “I have many, but I prefer real book. Is always better.”
“Books make me tired. Need the tapes,” Zhanna grunted, laying back and fiddling with the tape player. “How I use this?”
Heavy reached forward, gesturing for Zhanna to give him the device. “Let me show you,”
While Heavy helped Zhanna with the cassette player, Olivia heard someone approaching the open door. She glanced up, seeing Medic standing there.
“How is everything?” Medic wanted to know, stepping into the room.
“Everything is fine,” Heavy assured with a warm smile, reaching into the box of tapes to insert one in. “Zhanna will have books to listen to, to pass time in here.”
“Good,” Medic agreed with a nod. “But there’s something I must tell you: Dell’s father, Fred, has actually been alive this entire time.”
Heavy’s eyes widened, and he went quiet for a few seconds. “Alive?” he managed finally. “But…”
“I know,” Medic sighed. “We all thought Spy killed him, but he’s been in a coma this entire time in the basement of a hospital. Dell just called me from there, and he believes Fred was placed in a medically induced coma.”
Zhanna screwed up her mouth for a moment, and then asked, “Does that mean…doctors put him to sleep on purpose?”
“Yes, Zhanna, that’s exactly what that means,” Medic confirmed with a nod. “Although we do not know why this could have happened, so…” he took a breath. “I will be heading over there shortly to bring Fred out of that coma.”
There was a pause. Soldier spoke up, “Don’t do that! Have you lost your sad little European mind!?”
“Hush,” Heavy gave Soldier a glare, watching as he crossed his arms but complied. Heavy sighed, looking back up at Medic. “I do not think this is good idea, Doktor…he was on enemy team. He will want revenge, too.”
“Oh, please,” Medic scoffed. He said, pausing, "The man has been in a coma for almost a year; he is not going to have the strength to attack any of us. At least, I hope he doesn't."
“Who are you talking about?” Olivia wanted to know, tugging on the corner of Medic’s coat.
Medic blinked, glancing down at her. “Oh - do not worry about it, Olivia. It’s just some business I have to attend to, is all,”
“Would you like me to go?” Heavy asked, voice gentle.
Medic thought about it for a moment. “Well…if you’d like. Do you want to?”
Heavy glanced over at Zhanna, taking a breath. “I…do not know. I should stay here and protect sisters, mama…”
“Misha,” Zhanna sat up taller, nudging her brother with her prosthetic hand. “We will be fine. I will not break, and we have Jane here,” she gestured to Soldier. “Do what you want, please,”
Heavy pursed his lips in thought, before leaning in to embrace Zhanna tightly. “All right…I trust you, sister. Stay very, very safe!”
Zhanna hugged back, humming. “Yes!”
As Heavy pulled away to join Medic, he stopped for a moment to give Olivia a quick hug. “You be safe, too,” he instructed her, his broad hand adjusting her bow.
Olivia nodded, hugging him in return. “Yep!”
Medic bid goodbye to her as well, before accompanying Heavy to the car outside. Once they were gone, Olivia climbed up on the couch and nudged Soldier.
“Who are they going to see?” She prodded, hoping he would be honest with her.
Soldier scooped Olivia up, swiftly placing her onto his knee. “They’re going to go wake up one of those old team members! The ones who worked for your dad!”
“...oh,” Olivia suddenly realized she hadn’t thought about those people in a very long time. “They’re alive?”
“Just two,” Zhanna informed, curling up next to Soldier and laying her head on his shoulder. “One is a woman I blew up. But she is alive again and trying to kill me. The other is…” she trailed off, and then looked to Soldier. “Who you say he was?”
“Engineer’s dad!” Soldier affirmed. “Did you ever meet him?”
Olivia shrugged, picking at her nails a little. “Maybe. I don’t remember…” Those days felt far behind her, even if they had not been terribly long ago.
Zhanna frowned, shooing Olivia’s hands away from each other. “Do not do that, is not good for you…”
Soldier grunted in thought. “I hope the other ones don’t come back…that would be very bad! Even after what they did to your dad–”
Olivia suddenly looked up, alarmed. “What did they do?”
Soldier fell silent, and Zhanna understood then that no one had ever told Olivia the truth about her father's death.
“Jane,” Zhanna placed her hand on his shoulder, encouraging him not to keep speaking. She then turned to Olivia and pulled her into another hug. “Is all right…”
Olivia felt her heart beating fast, but she accepted the hug anyway. She buried her face in Zhanna's hair and mumbled, "I didn’t…I didn’t know what happened,”
Soldier huffed, embarrassed. “Hell on earth! I shouldn’t have said anything…”
Zhanna reached over with her free arm, pulling him into the hug. “Is all right. Hug.”
Right then, Miss Pauling approached the doorway, looking around. “There you are, Olivia!” she walked inside, closing the door behind her a little. “Zhanna, you should really keep this door closed at all times. That’s what safe rooms are for.”
Zhanna waved her off. “Is fine,”
“Well…okay,” Pauling sighed, and she beckoned Olivia. “Your mom’s looking for you, Olivia, she’s getting ready to leave for the evening,”
Olivia nodded, climbing off of Zhanna’s lap and hopping to the floor. “Okay…”
As she bid the others farewell for the evening, she made an effort not to dwell about what she had discovered. However, this would prove to be quite the challenging task.
At the same time, further away, Bea had followed tire marks leading from the mansion and through the woods. She went smoothly through the woods despite her age, even if she nearly tripped over a few tree roots.
To mark her trail along the way, she stuck a series of brightly colored pencils in the soil every now and again. This would be useful to find her way back, and to ensure that she didn't unintentionally end up going in a circle. Being alone, it wasnt easy to try and find the new base, but it wouldnt be impossible. She had made promises to her sister and to herself that she would exact revenge and do it safely. She merely needed to keep both promises, now.
Bea paused, checking to see if a mark in a patch of wet soil was a shoe print or a tire print. She knelt down again, seeing that it was indeed a tire print, and that it had come from the West, according to her compass. She placed the compass back into her bag, and then got another pencil out, sticking it in the grass nearby. She was grateful for the reflective metal trim on the pencils, which would help her find them if it became dark and she needed to use a flashlight.
As Bea climbed to her feet, she had a bittersweet thought: she had taught this strategy to her team on a mountain range trip years before. They had thought it odd that she had used pencils instead of the official trail-markers, but she remembered from their reactions that they thought she was clever. She also joked about burning the pencils for firewood if they got stuck somewhere, even though they wouldn't have needed them with her resources. Those days felt so far behind her, yet they also felt as though they’d only happened yesterday.
Bea thought back to the walks she and Zelda used to take as children as her good eye scanned along the trail. This wasn’t too different from where they’d used to walk - in fact, it probably wasn’t too far from where they had once walked. How strange…was there a time in her life that she once tread that same soil, but as a small child?
Those walks had been a high point of Bea’s early childhood. She had been far too young when she and Zelda lost their parents, and therefore she could not remember them. Her earliest memories were of snuggling up in an old scarf with Zelda, reading through an old book of stories that had somehow survived the ruins of their burning home.
Wandering along street corners, gathering food from trash cans behind restaurants and bakeries, often relying on the kindness of others to get what they needed...these were the early experiences that formed Bea's developing mind. Rather than a mother, she had her sister, who was still just a little girl herself. They fought to survive together, and Zelda's magical knowledge and abilities aided them in their efforts.
However, despite the hardship, young Bea loved to play outside when the weather was warm. She would sit in the grass and pretended she had a house of her own, with a big leafy bed and a protective roof above her head. She pretended she was a princess or a delicate woman, with a wonderful huge mansion to have tea parties and remain warm in when the air became cool. Yet she and Zelda were more like street urchins risking everything to survive rather than princesses or ladies.
One autumn day, though, the girls’ luck would change. When they realized that their favorite bakery no longer disposed of their day-old bread in the usual location, the sisters traveled to the opposite side of town in pursuit of nourishment. They had their sights set on an old Italian restaurant and headed straight to the trashcans outside to look for leftovers.
All of the sudden, the door burst open, and a voice began to shout at the two, “Hey! What do you think you’re doing!?”
Little Beatrice, only six, jolted and scuttled behind her sister for protection. Zelda, who was eleven at this time, gave the man a fearless glare while still quivering.
“We’re just getting food!” Zelda insisted with a shaky voice. “Leave us alone!”
The gray-haired Italian man with the thin mustache instantly realized the girls' situation. His voice softened, “Where are your parents?”
“We don’t have any!” Beatrice informed him, but Zelda shushed her.
“Aw, God,” the man sighed. “Orphans, huh? Don’t stay out here! C’mon, you have any idea how cold its gonna get?”
He served the girls a hot lunch of just-made meatballs, sauce, and bread after ushering them inside. Later, they learned his name was Lorenzo Ricci. Lorenzo took in the two girls as adoption laws were lenient at the time, and they were never homeless again.
In their new home, Bea and Zelda spent many evenings doing homework while munching on leftover mozzarella. Not only did Lorenzo refer to the girls as his daughters, but the wait staff quickly grew fond of them. The entire staff joined in to buy Zelda and Bea presents, making that year's birthday celebrations the greatest they'd ever had.
Bea made a few friends throughout the years, but the friendships never seemed to last - not because of arguments or fallouts, but rather because of waning interest. She'd have a best friend who did everything with her one year, then that friend would meet someone else and never speak to her again the next year. It made Bea very upset, and for a long time, she wondered if something was wrong with her. Why else would no one stay around here? That had to be something fundamentally broken and wrong with her if no one wanted to be by her side, or so she though. She saw her peers have lasting friendships and friend groups, but she could never seem to attain the same.
By the beginning of her senior year, Beatrice almost had no friends. She tried not to let it affect her too much since she preferred being alone on occasion, but she spent many nights wondering over what was wrong with her.
One afternoon, Bea wandered into the apartment after arriving home from school, collapsed on the sofa, and began sobbing loudly.
Zelda, who was now working as a waiter at the restaurant downstairs, raced in after hearing her sister's sobs.
“Beatrice, what’s the matter?” Zelda asked frantically, sitting on the sofa and pulling Bea into her arms.
Bea sought the comfort of her sister’s arms, pressing close and hugging her tightly. As her sobs calmed and she relaxed into the feeling of Zelda stroking her hair, she found her voice: “Zelda, am I fat? Is that why no one likes being around me?”
Zelda paused, and she looked down at her sister with concern. “What? What are you talking about?”
Bea sat up and wiped her eyes, trying to take a few calming breaths. “When I was walking home today, I ended up behind Michael Hamish - you know, the principal’s son?”
“Yes, I remember…” Zelda rolled her eyes. “What did he do this time?”
“He…when he and his friends noticed me, they started to laugh and made mooing noises at me,” she scowled as she cast a downward gaze at her figure. “I’m fat, aren’t I?”
“That bastard,” Zelda grunted under her breath. She slipped her arm around her sister’s shoulders, hugging her close again. “None of this is your fault, Beatrice…”
“I’m so tired of him, of everyone who treats me like that!” Bea sobbed. “Why can’t I have someone who’s on my side for once?”
Zelda pulled away slightly, seeming a bit hurt by the comment. “I’m on your side,”
“I know…” apologetic, Bea pulled her sister close for another hug. “But, I mean…a group of friends. People who are like me,”
“You and I have each other, Beatrice,” Zelda assured, running her hand through her hair. “And we both have Lorenzo, and this whole place…you don’t need anyone else.”
Bea frowned a little at that, but she sat up and wiped the remaining tear stains off her face. “But…what do I do? I want to fight back, but Lorenzo doesn’t want me to fight anyone, he doesn’t want me to get in trouble…”
“I know,” Zelda patted her sister’s cheek gently. “Although, I suppose you would only get in trouble if you got caught.”
At that moment, the door opened, and Lorenzo called from downstairs, “Zelda! The dinner rush is starting, we need you down here!”
Zelda popped up off the sofa, smoothing her dress out and reaching for her apron. “I’ll be right back! Here, I’ll turn on the radio for you,” she reached over and switched the tableside radio on, letting the music flow through. “Just relax, Beatrice.”
As Zelda headed downstairs to join Lorenzo, Bea sat alone in the living room, listening to the radio. She shook her head, grunting as a bit of her own long hair got into her mouth by mistake. Her thoughts began to wander, and in her lonely, angry state, she realized she no longer wanted long hair.
She grabbed a pair of craft scissors from her schoolbag and quickly entered the bathroom. The haircut was a blur, but before she knew it, there was a pile of her own hair in the sink. Bea washed the lingering hair from her hands before gathering the rest and putting it in the garbage, but that's when she spotted herself in the mirror.
It was…her. Of course, that was obvious, as it was her reflection, but this was different. Despite the fact that her hair was visibly messy as it had been cut in a hurry, this image of herself was who she was suppose to be. She ran one of her hands through it, watching how easy it was to style now and how the sight of it made her care less about her size. In an instant, she had shifted into herself.
Bea raised her head in different directions, thinking for a moment on how chaotic and unfeminine her new appearance was. She felt different all of the sudden: she felt more confident in herself, now.
Her mind went back to Michael Hamish. She thought about how he had teased her that day, and all the days before…she wouldn’t let that happen again. A box of matches sat on the window sill, which Bea picked up and stashed in her pocket. From that moment on, she knew who she was, and she wouldn’t let herself be shamed again.
In the present, there was an odd itch irritating Bea’s arm. Bea shook herself out of her memories and scratched at it, trying to focus on the tracks in front of her. She was approaching the desert, now, and she was starting to get a feeling that she was close to the base.
She scratched at the itch again, but then it hit her: that was were Zelda had drawn the sigil on her.
Bea hastily pulled up her sleeve as she observed the glowing light emerging from the ink marking. She remembered what her sister had told her about the sigil’s meaning, and she knew that Zelda was in danger.
“No, no, no,” Bea murmured, flying into a panic. She pivoted on her heel and hurriedly followed the pencils she'd placed as markers, trying to recollect where the herbal supply shop was.
There was no way she would abandon her sister.

Hi Cib! Any “rich, intimidating looking but is actually very sweet” male and female faceclaims for me? The guy is black, has more of a dad bod and beard, and is your typical “dad in comedy/drama show”, if that makes sense. The mom is latina/afro-latina (either is fine, but I’d maybe like some separate options for each one if you’re up for it!), powerful and speaks her mind and all that! Both should look kinda scary but also very welcoming and should be disgustingly adorable together. They’ll be playing the parents to an afro-latina teenager (17) who is very bubbly, kind, smart, and overall liked by most people, but still powerful and stands her ground. Anyone who seems like they could raise a kid like that would be awesome! They should be in their early to mid 30s. Thank you so much for everything you do! Sending kisses and hugs!
Hello dear <3 I'll try to find some options for you, but I don't know if I can find someone who fits all these characteristics :) you're welcome <3

Convention Guest - Harry Styles x MCUactress!Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You are at an convention with your Endgame cast mates, and there seems to be an unsettlement in the audience. Could it be your famous boyfriend?
In regard to the possible biggest film of all time, the original avengers were brought together in tribute to the beginning of the team’s cinematic franchise. You were lucky enough to be one of them, and so you sat with the six people you had gotten to know pretty well over the years.
When you had taken the part as Angelica Jones, AKA Firestar, you had no idea what it would mean for your career. You had even got your own movie, which opened up many opportunities for your career. It made you feel powerful playing such a badass female character.
You sat between Scarlett and Chris Hemsworth, listening to the questions that arose from the audience, taking a sip of water every now and then. A girl took the microphone, you assumed she was at least half your age, dwelling in her teen years.
“This is for (Y/N), do you think we’ll ever see the famous team up between Firestar and Spiderman that is in the comics?” This felt like a trick question. Hemsworth elbowed you gently, prompting you to answer wisely.
“Perhaps, that is if Spiderman comes back. And if he does I hope so.” A little hope never hurt anyone, especially when you weren’t being like Ruffalo or Holland and giving out free spoilers.
A chatter surpassed through the audience, they all seemed to be looking around, searching for someone in among their own ranks. That however didn't put a stop to the questions.
“Is Black Widow going to get her own film? ” You knew the answer to that, but could not divulge. Nor could Scarlett... yet.
“Wait a minute.” Evans stood, having caught a familiar face in the crowd. He squinted down at the people, finding it again.
“What is it?” Robert sounded bored, although he was interested a little in what had caught the intrigue of the actor.
“We have a breach.” He spoke as Captain America himself would. “Styles is here.”
“Oh, not that guy.” Jeremy laughed, also looking out at the crowd and finding the singer. You went to stand, glaring at your boyfriend from above.
“What are you doing here?” You asked loudly, wanting to run through the mass of fans to reach him, but aware that security would not allow you to do so. It was difficult, you hadn’t seen each other in 4 and 1/2 months.
Before he could turn his smirk into a reply, Hemsworth answered. “He’s here for me obviously, he can’t resist my Australian charm.” The crowd screamed at that, and Harry turned a bright red.
Ruffalo walked to the security guy standing on the corner. “Get him up here.” And he did so. Harry walked onto the stage, causing an explosion of cheers. One of which came from Hemsworth.
Instantly you hugged him, letting your head rest on his chest. It gave you a warm feeling, one that you wanted to hold onto forever. “Don’t hog my girl.” Scarlett scolded him, hugging him when he released you.
“Hands off.” Hemsworth sassed him, only to kiss the singer on the cheek.
“Good to see you too Chris.” He drawled, laughing. Evans frowned, whining at the Thor actor.
“I saw him first.” Harry went over to the other Chris, embracing him.
“Before even my own girlfriend.” Harry glared at you, making you gasp at his betrayal. He really was something else.
“I got him up here.” Ruffalo mumbled, sitting down beside where you had been, acting up. He wanted a hug too.
“Ew.” Jeremy greeted Harry, who only gave him a disgusted look in reply.
“I could say the same, you skipped out on the last film.”
“Come my child.” Robert remained sat, as if he was on a throne. “This guy’s like a son to me.” Harry jokingly bowed to the MCU godfather.
“When do I get my turn again?” Hemsworth asked, frowning at his co stars.
“And this is why he’s not allowed on set.” You told the audience, laughing at the interaction between your on and off screen family.

note from mun: i plan to get out individual posts at some point, but who knows how long those are gonna take me. in the mean time, i give a you master post with all the important details on my babies. so, be low the cut will be the details you will need. (last updated 2021-04-18)
alexander lawson - he’s earned his fortune playing the stock market. he invests in small businesses that he can feel the person’s passion for. currently he is invested in buzz house, dante’s tattoo/coffe shop. (he has two tattoos. one he got in his younger years and the other shortly after buzz house opened). he also participates in ruby’s poker nights.
amelia whitmore - it wasn’t something she thought for her life, but amelia is a cooperate lawyer for her family’s company (which is competing with her fiancé’s company - oops). their families kind of pushed them together and now jaxon and her are engaged and in huntsville (temporarily?)
andrew parker - he dreamed of being a professional rugby player for as long as he could remember. that was until his acl injury that took him out of the game. he switched his major to journalism and is now a sports report for the local news channel. he’s a bit of a lone wolf but once you get to know him he’s a big softy.
anniston albeni
cadance penton - despite it being in her head, cade things she’s the town shame. she was left at the alter twice and has dealt with it as best as she could. her first fiancé still lives in huntsville - bennett - and the second moved to toronto after their split. she has a twin sister who gives her inspiration for her books (that she writes under a pen name so no one knows she’s the true author).
carson parker
cesar ortega
chloe browning
daphne goldstein
declan woulfe - for lack of a better term, he’s a single father who was able to finish his surgical residency with the help of his parents and his daughter’s uncle. caro - his ex - ran out on them and he doesn’t know why. he’s still angry about it but he focused on what was important - leia. he hasn’t dated seriously since caro but he’s gone on dates (both men and women)
jeremy chang
liam lexington
marianne santos-liney - mari is zane’s half sister but she would look up to him even if he didn’t practically raise her. growing up she was really into gymnastics. she wanted to be on the olympic team and was close to achieving that goal. that was until they were in a car accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down. she’s now an owner of a small boutique that sells handmade beauty and skincare products.
mingmei hsu - mei has only been in huntsville for a short time. formally a cast member of the real housewives of toronto, may moved to hunsville after her husband was charged and jailed for embezzlement. she has a five year old boy, spencer, and chose the small town because she has a cousin in town.
natalia lawson  - natalia came to huntsville a little more than 6 months ago to live with her grandfather - alexander. except he isn’t her grandfather and her name isn’t natalia lawson. previously known as angelica natalia lewis, talia was placed under witness protection after testifying against her family’s criminal activity. she is constantly looking over her shoulder, worried an uncle or cousin will find her.
peyton del rosario
phelan macmurrough
raymund ando - raymund had two loving parents until he was four when he and his family were in car accident. while he walked away with a couple scratches, his father didn’t make it to the hospital. his mother on the other hand made it to the hospital and after a couple surgeries, was in a coma. his uncle made the difficult decision to pull the plug after a couple weeks and adopted raymund. he’s been in hunstville since then and is working his way to a degree in engineering.
ryan iglesias - ry didn’t think she would amount to much growing up. the youngest of four children, she was always passed over, especially when all older siblings succeeded. she has a degree in marketing and uses that to help companies with their social media presence, getting them set up and building a following. she also helps with consulting companies that already have a social media presence but need help.
steven richards - always big on sketching and art, steven started out doing a lot of graffiti in their high school years. they were arrested a couple times, all when they were still a minor. it wasn’t until they were 25 that they put their talent to good use and trained to become a tattoo artist.
verónica valerio - they are literally two sides of a coin that couldn’t be any more opposite. in their 9-5, verónica is a personal assistant who takes pride in managing their boss’ life so that everything goes off without a hitch. but when the office closes for the day and on the weekends, verónica is in a band they started when they were still in high school - chasing sundays. they play the bar scene a much as possible and their band members are probably their best friends.

Jacks Grandkids Part 1
Kimberly Paisley Frost-Claus
James Frost x Rudolph Claus
-------------------------------
A how do you do well to do girl, very prim and proper compared to the rest of her family. Kimberly is very much a product of her royal etiquette training but not at all a product of her family, she doesn't go out of her way to kill at all and even feels remorse and regret for it. Not to say she won't do it though. She can be quite volatile herself.
She's the next antichrist so....I'll uh, explain her deal another day
Heloise Medusa Frost
Jeremy Frost x Ahsanda
-------------------------------
The literal fashion police, she's always calculating what she wears and has an outfit for every occasion. She isn't afraid to tell people that what they're wearing isn't doing them any favors...but she doesn't go out of her way to be a dick about it. She's intelligent and articulated but not NEARLY as much of a stickler as Kimmy.
Condensation: User can condense gases into liquids, changing their state of matter from gas to liquids. This is how rain happens when it gets cold in the sky where the clouds are.
Desdemona  Lindsey Frost
Joy Frost x Angelica Claus
-------------------------------
Not satisfied by anything, this extremely judgmental bitch is constantly complaining about something or looking for something to complain about. As annoying as it is though she's the one to call when you need something done right if you can set your ego aside for a few minutes. She's got an amazing work ethic as well, the rewards she could reap from her work would be amazing if she could stop gossiping for two seconds.
Cryovolcano Generation: The user can generate Cryovolcanoes, a volcano that erupts volatiles such as water, ammonia or methane, instead of molten rock. Collectively referred to as cryomagma or ice-volcanic melt, these substances are usually liquids and form plumes, but can also be vapor. After eruption, cryomagma condenses to a solid form when exposed to the very low surrounding temperature.
Portia Dominique Starling
Journey Frost x Reagan Starling
-------------------------------
She's incredibly blunt and speaks her mind no matter where or when she is and she doesn't care what she leaves in her wake, she loves having fun and doesn't care if she gets in trouble. She's less of a social butterfly and more of a social crocodile with a huge rebellious streak. Nothing like her moms, she takes after her Uncle with his love of watching the lives of others crumble in his hands. Oh! and her looks CAN kill!

I am as fine as a daisy
Hey guys, I thought maybe you would like to read it here too :) I posted it also on fanfction.net. It is just the first chapter :)
Humming quietly to herself, Beth was standing in the kitchen of the Gilbert house. Today was the first day after the summer break and she wanted to make sure that she got everything ready for her younger siblings. The last months were hard and she was quite often overwhelmed as she was appointed as the legal guardian of Elena and Jeremy. Stricken with grief she had to pull herself together to be able to support both of them, even though she thought she was failing throughout.
With quick fingers, she picked the water heater up and poured the hot, steaming water in a large pot which had a filter filled with fresh and dried herbs in it. After filling the water up to the brim of the pot, she laid the water heater down and began making the best sandwiches of the whole town! Giggling she shook her head, a large smile showing some of her teeth as she praised herself. Nevertheless, she knew that the Grill made the best sandwiches but someday she would be as good as them!
With nimble fingers Beth she put on the toast some cheese, ham, potatoes, and cucumbers. Quickly she cut them into those silly triangles and narrowly missed her fingertips.
“Oh, fuck. That was close.”, she grinned to herself and rolled her shoulders as a small sign of discomfort. She hated wounds on her fingers. They hurt more than any other wounds. Deliberately slow the young woman wrapped the sandwiches and laid them next to two thermoses. Throwing a quick look at the pot she noticed how well the tea was processed. Taking a deep breath she could smell faintly the different herbs which mixed together, shuddering slightly as she thought of the delicious taste of her own special tea. Carefully she picked the pot up, the tea swapping against the brim and running down at the outside of the pot. Annoyed with herself she rolled her eyes and turned to the thermoses to fill them.
Just as she finished filling the thermoses she could hear a door closing upstairs before a pair of feet began running down the stairs.
“Good morning, sister.”, greeted Elena as she leaned against the fridge while she watched with amused eyes how her big sister was scurrying around, trying to get everything together and ready to go.
“Greetings.”, Beth replied as she turned towards her sister, her big smile like always in place. “How’s it going?”, she asked at a fast pace, her tone as always light while she wiggled her eyebrows and made Elena crack a smile.
“It…”, the smaller girl began, then trailed off and looked on the floor, watching the bare feet of her sister tapping a rhythm she didn’t know. “I will try my best. I will be happy again and reply to everyone asking that I am better.”, she said, trying to be determined.
“I know you will.”, pulled Beth her out of her dark thoughts. “It just takes some time.”, she added and her smile shrank a bit. A small silence began as both girls were getting lost a little in their thought.
“Oh, by the way.”, Elena spoke up again, a small smile pulling her lips up and making her eyes sparkle a bit. “Bonnie will drive me to school.” As an answer, the brunette began nodding rapidly.
“And Jeremy?” Hardly her words had left her mouth Beth and Elena could hear someone stomping down the stairs. With a crooked smile and his backpack just thrown on one shoulder, Jeremy walked into the kitchen and began putting his thermos and sandwiches in his open backpack.
“I will walk.”, Jeremy casually said and walked then towards the door, just stopping to put his shoes on. “Bye.”, he gave them a small wave and disappeared.
“Well, that answers my question.”, Beth off-handly said and turned towards the pot in the sink to begin filling it with cold water. Elena looked at her with wide eyes.
“Doesn’t it bother you?”, she asked and Beth instantly knew that Elena was triggered by her casual comment. Sighing to herself and with a small roll of her eyes, she turned her head towards her sister. “Duh, of course not but what should I do, hm? I will talk with him after work.”, the woman responded with her light voice but without a smile.
“Speaking of work,”, Beth added as she turned towards the pot again, deliberately ignoring her sister’s disapproving stare while watching the water run into the pot, “I will be home late today. Can you order some pizza before I get home? My work ends at 7.”
Huffing Elena crossed her arms before her chest before she nodded. Without further talking, she began picking up her lunch.
“I will go now, Bonni is probably waiting now.”, she shortly announced. Beth didn’t respond and as she heard the door fall shut, she let out a loud groan while rolling her shoulders annoyed.
“Why did I agree to be their legal guardian?”, she asked herself, pissed off with the whole situation. “As if Elena would handle Jeremy better.”, she added bitterly.
After some deep breaths, Beth pulled herself together and put on her large smile. With fast steps, she left the house too and got into her car to drive to the cemetery.
Just as always Beth first tended to all the graves and other patches of grass and flowers. It took her some hours to work through everything and after her break, she was finally finished. With a smile and sparkling eyes, she walked towards her very own special place in the cemetery. Here she was growing all kinds of herbs and flowers for her daily use. While she always watered her plants, she noticed how some of them were ready to be harvested. Again she began to quietly hum to herself as she kneeled down and gently pulled them out. One by one she filled the vervain herb in her small, braided basket.  She took more than enough vervain so she would be able to give some to the Council. A small annoyed huff left her mouth as she thought about the Council. She still couldn’t understand how they would only want vervain while there were other herbs just as useful as it. Pushing these thoughts away she also harvested some more plants like Basil, Angelica, Clove, and Marjoram. All of them covered the vervain.
After she put them all in her small basket, Beth began taking a casual stroll through the graveyard while looking out for some tasks she could give herself until the end of her shift. It didn't take long until she noticed the person standing before some graves. Not recognizing him she walked towards him, set on introducing herself.
“Hello stranger.”, she said as she was directly behind him, just mere inches before his back. Surprised by the closeness the young man quickly turned and looked with wide eyes down to the smaller woman, standing right in his personal space. With her large, bright smile and her sparkling eyes, she didn’t look like a threat.
“Uh, hi.”, he responded uncomfortably and leaned a bit back.
“Who are you? I don’t know you and I know everybody.”, she chirped as she stared at him without blinking. The young man before her began scratching his head.
“I am new here. I lived here as a kid and now I am back. I am Stefan Salvatore.”, he answered her and she hummed quietly.
“Salvatore, huh? Well, I am Elisabeth Gilbert. Nice to meet you!”, she introduced herself while she looked up and down at him, noticing the lapis lazuli ring on his finger. “Hope to see you again sometime.”, added and waved before she walked away, silently thinking to add more vervain into the food and water for her siblings and her.
Stretching as much as she could until her bones popped, Beth let herself flop down on the couch where her sister sat with the pizza.
“How was school?”, she asked while she pulled a pizza box onto her lap and inspected the pizza in it. It took some seconds until Elena responded.
“We have a new guy at school.”, she began and Beth gave her a wicked smile while wiggling her eyebrows. Snorting, Elena hit her sister against her arm and rolled her eyes.
“And does he have a name?”, she asked curiously even though she had an assumption.
“Stefan.”, Elena answered shortly and took a quick bite from her pizza to avoid talking too much about him. Beth’s mouth formed a small ‘o’ as she stared at her sister who tried to ignore it. Nodding she agreed to finish this topic and move on.
“Oh, tomorrow there will be a bonfire.”, the younger sister added after she finished her pizza. “I think I will go.”
“Sure you do.”, replied Beth and stood up. Taking her pizza box with the last slices she turned to the stairs and began her way to Jeremy’s room.
Gently she knocked on his door and waited until he yelled “Enter!”.
“Hey, Jer.”, she greeted her young brother and walked to his bed where he laid, leaning against the headboard. Putting the pizza box on his bedside table, she sat down on the edge of his bed and watched him silently for some seconds. She noticed his slightly red eyes which were locked firmly on his phone while he ignored her stare.
“Jer..”, she began but he interrupted her.
“Don’t say anything if you want to lecture me or are trying to be a ‘sensible parent’”, he said annoyed and looked at his sister who closed her mouth again. After some awkward seconds, she sighed.
“How about some cool material arts classes? Or some painting classes? Some self-defense classes? Just you and me.”, she suggested and ignored the sting in her heart as he rolled his eyes and scoffed.
“Just go.”, he replied shortly and looked down on his phone again. Beth didn’t know what she should do.
“Okay.”, she whispered, her typical smile vanished as she looked sadly at her younger brother. She felt so helpless as she couldn’t help him with his grieving. He was slipping. And that fast.
Quietly she left his room and went into her own, undressing and taking a shot of water mixed with some vervain. Tomorrow she would deliver the vervain to Liz and repaint the threshold with water and mix it with some of her herbs.

11. “Part Four,” When They See Us Season 1, Netflix
Tumblr media
Ava DuVernay's achingly painful "When They See Us" miniseries about the persecution of the Central Park 5 is capped off with its brilliant final episode; a showcase for Jharrel Jerome ("Moonlight") who undergoes a transformation here unlike any other actor on TV this year. Playing Korey Wise, we see Jerome go from happy-go-lucky New Yorker to a victim of the vicious prison system who is beholden to his truth despite its consequences. It is a harrowing 88 minutes of TV that is both devastating and beautiful, carried on the shoulders of Jerome's unparalleled performance.
10. “A God Walks Into a Bar,” Watchmen Season 1, HBO
Tumblr media
The penultimate episode of "Watchmen," the buzziest show of the fall, is the most Damon Lindelof has been during this stellar season of TV. "A God Walks into a Bar" is a revealing episode in the same way as the last season of "The Leftovers," Lindelof's previous project. The episode reveals that for all of its surrealness and commentary about race and gender in our world, the "remix" of the popular comic book series is, at its core, a love story. Lindelof sets the episode as a classic cosmic joke but as it goes on, it exposes itself to be full of heart and emotion; about two people from different parts of the universe (and different parts of the space-time continuum?) connecting. At a bar. Over beer, conversation, and eggs.
09. “Strawberries,” Ramy Season 1, Hulu
Tumblr media
Unlike anything depicted on TV, "Strawberries," the peak of Hulu's comedy "Ramy," created by standup Ramy Youssef, is told in flashback, tracking a young Ramy in the days leading up to and after 9/11. Seeing the event play out from the perspective of a young Muslim child in middle school is heartbreaking and raw; a highlight that is thoughtful, meditative, funny and surprising.
08. "Shook One Pt. II,” Euphoria Season 1, HBO
Tumblr media
It's not until "Shook One Pt. II" that "Euphoria" finally clicks and finds its groove. Playing out at a carnival, the episode raises the dramatic stakes for the show's young cast, where creator Sam Levinson's bold aesthetic choices complement the intense tension on display. Part thriller, part romance and all edge, this episode of "Euphoria" features stellar performances from Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi and more.
07. “Volume 7: The Magician" + "Volume 8: The Hanged Man,” Too Old to Die Young Season 1 Amazon
Tumblr media
It was hard to pick just one episode of Nicolas Winding Refn's twisted noir cop saga "Too Old to Die Young." The controversial auteur made a perfect thing for streaming age; somewhere between a film and a series. NWR said himself that you can watch the episodes out of order, or start from anywhere, which is sort of true. But it's the back-to-back episodes towards the back half of the series, "Volume 7: The Magician" and "Volume 8: The Hanged Man," that stand out the most; a chaotic and insane set of events that turn "TOTDY" on its head.
06. “Posh,” PEN15 Season 1, Hulu
Tumblr media
"PEN15" is hands down the funniest show of 2019 but it's the Hulu series episode "Posh" — a thoughtful and insightful examination of racism in the 00s — that is the show's highlight. In the episode, BFFs Maya (Maya Erskine) and Anna (Anna Konkle) make their own version of the Spice Girls with a group of mean girls at their middle school for a class project. They force Maya, who is Japanese-American, to play Scary Spice — the only woman of color in the insanely popular British girl group, because Maya is the only girl of color among them. It sparks a deep divide between Maya and Anna that is explored in the short episode with maximum effect.
05. “DC,” Succession Season 2, HBO
Tumblr media
Over the last few years, Americans have made Congressional hearings they're own sort of perverse reality show. So, it's no surprise that "Succession" would go there and put members of the Roy family on display and under scrutiny. The main targets here are Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) and Cousin Greg (Nicholas Braun), who have to answer a number of questions about Waystar Royco's handling of alleged sexual assaults and crimes involving the company's cruise line. "Succession" had been building up to this moment since early Season 1 and the payoff is both cringe-worthy and hilarious.
04. “The Great War and Modern Memory,” True Detective Season 3 HBO
Tumblr media
Filmmaker Jeremy Saulnier's ("Green Room," "Hold the Dark") crack at a TV show is nothing short of spectacular. With "The Great War and Modern Memory," he establishes an unsettling mood and tone to the third installment of "True Detective," a somber story about two cops investigating the disappearance of two young children over the span of several decades. The episode is poetic and solemn, featuring two mind-blowing performances from its stars Mahershala Ali and a career-best Stephen Dorff. They're both in tune with what kind of show they're in, selling creator Nic Pizzolatto's writing, which coming out of the mouths of other performers would likely sound dreadful.
03. “Episode 1,” Fleabag Season 2, Amazon
Tumblr media
Filming a dinner scene is not as easy as it looks. For the first episode of the second season of the outstanding "Fleabag" both writer/creator/star Phoebe Waller-Bridge and director Harry Bradbeer hit out of the park. It's a whirlwind of an episode where PWB's Fleabag character literally tells the audience Season 2 is a love story, which, of course, involves the so-called Hot Priest (Andrew Scott). "Episode 1" is fast, zippy, and manages to get most of the show's cast in one room, featuring wonderful performances from not only PWB and Scott but also Olivia Coleman, Sian Clifford and Brett Gelman. It's a chaotic half-hour of TV that has a kinetic energy unlike anything else this year, taking an awkward family dinner to its limits.
02. "Series Finale Part 2: Hello, Elliot,” Mr. Robot Season 4, USA
Tumblr media
The series finale of “Mr. Robot” is as emotional as it is shocking. Sam Esmail sticks the landing with his hacking drama, turning a story about a vigilante and his crew trying to right the wrong world into a personal journey of a young man struggling with deep trauma. It’s a beautiful sendoff, that is fully satisfying and a magnificent accomplishment of modern television.
01. “Never Knew a Love Like this Before,” Pose Season 2, FX
Tumblr media
"Pose" proved itself to be an uplifting and hopeful show, uprooting cliched and tragic stories about trans people we've come to see on screen and instead, opts to show us something beautiful. But its "Never Knew a Love Like This Before" that is 2019's best episode of the year — a heart-wrenching and unexpected boom and a reminder that trans people, especially trans women of color, are often in danger. Here, Candy (an out-of-this-world performance from Angelica Ross), who orbited around the main cast in the series, is murdered. She returns to her funeral in spirit, having in-depth conversations with her friends, enemies and frenemies. Pray Tell (Billy Porter) honors her by moving forward with her wish — a lip-synch category for the balls that he previously rejected. It's a beautiful story about the history of queer culture that's personalized in an unexpected way.

Chronicles of Love and War (chapter 15)
“What time do you think you’ll be back?” Angelica wanted to know, slipping her shoes on and fixing her hair in the mirror.
Spy cleaned his gun with a handkerchief, saying, “It depends. It could take anywhere from a few hours to the rest of the day. We are not entirely sure what’s going to happen this time…”
Angelica walked up behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist and hugging him tightly. “God, this makes me nervous…you stay safe, and for the love of God, keep Jeremy outta trouble!”
“Of course, dearest, of course,” Spy assured, and he turned around to embrace her in return. “It’s very kind of you to spend your day with the children…”
“Oh, it ain’t any trouble,” she smiled up at him. “It’s been forever since I took any of my boys to the movies! Taking these girls is gonna be a great time…”
Spy stepped back, though he reached forward to tuck Angelica’s hair behind her ear. “Mm, I know…you are amazing with children, you know that?”
“Always have been!” Angelica giggled, before reaching for her bag. “All right, I’ll get the girls and we’ll drive into town…you boys stay safe!”
“We will,” Spy assured her, and the two shared a kiss. “We will, mon petite…”
Outside, Olivia and Lucy were reading a toy magazine Helen had given them while sitting side by side on the base's front stairs.
“Look at that one!” Olivia pointed to a giant stuffed swan. “It looks really pretty!”
“Yeah,” Lucy agreed. “But the beak is pink! Real swans don’t have pink beaks…”
The door behind them swung open, and Angelica stepped out. “Hey, girls!” she announced. “You two ready to go?”
“Yeah!” Olivia quickly closed the magazine and stuffed it in her bag, standing up. “What movie are we gonna see?”
“Hmm, I dunno!” Angelica smiled, taking the hands of both children and leading them to her car. “We’ll go to the theater and see what looks good, okay?”
“Okay!” Lucy piped up in agreement. She looked over her shoulder, waving towards the base and shouting, “Bye, daddy!”
Merasmus stood near the cars, waving goodbye to his daughter as she climbed into Angelica's car with Olivia. He tried to push down the wave of anxiety he felt about being separated from his child, but he reassured himself that she would be fine if she was with a motherly woman like Angelica.
He shook himself and turned around to look at Helen. “Tell me what we’re doing next.”
Helen pointed to where the mercenaries were equipping their vehicles with weaponry. “We will be driving over to the Applegate Mansion in separate cars. I have divided us into separate groups, and we will each be taking different routes to the mansion. I figured you and I would be leading the way, since you seem more familiar with the wooded areas than I am.”
“Oh,” Merasmus thought about it. “Well…all right. That sounds fine by me.”
“Good,” Helen gave a nod and stepped over to her own car, where Miss Pauling was already waiting for her. She opened the door and asked, “Do we have everything?”
“Yeah!” Miss Pauling nodded, checking her clipboard again. “Engie’s got the hydro-pump all strapped to his truck, so I think we’re good to go.”
“Wonderful.” Helen got into the driver’s side, and she watched to make sure Merasmus got into the passenger side all right. “You may need to crouch…you’re a bit too tall for my car.”
“Your car is just too small,” Merasmus grunted, but he managed to get the seat belt on without a problem. “Zelda is really going to get it this time…”
However, what they didn’t know was that Zelda and Bea were not at the Applegate Mansion at all. In fact, they were miles away in a quieter, emptier area of Teufort, visiting a run-down tavern.
A storm had begun to roll in as Zelda pushed open the tavern’s door. She gestured for Bea to follow and the two entered, letting the door close behind them.
Bea was instantly struck by the establishment’s gloomy atmosphere, and she shuddered. “Is this really the place?”
The lighting in the bar and dining area appeared dim, but this could have been due to the outer darkness caused by the approaching clouds. The dilapidated seats and tables, as well as the decade-old election leaflets hanging on a bulletin board in the back, gave the impression that it had not been updated in a long time.
“Yes, this is it.” Zelda confirmed. She strode to the bar area, where the bartender, a portly old woman in her later 60’s, cleaned a few drinking glasses.
The woman glanced up in surprise when she saw Zelda approaching. “Why, Miss Zelda! I have not seen you in months!”
“I’ve been quite busy,” Zelda informed the woman, before gesturing for Bea to come closer. “Cynthia, this is my sister Beatrice.”
Bea reached across the bar to shake Cynthia’s hand. “I go by Bea. Nice to meet you,”
Cynthia accepted the handshake but cast a quizzical look towards Zelda. “You told me your sister died! Was that a different sister?”
“No, it was the same sister,” Zelda informed her, clearing her throat. “Cynthia, we have a favor to ask of you.”
“A favor?” Cynthia raised an eyebrow. “Well…what is it you need?”
Zelda checked to make sure the few remaining patrons of the tavern were busy conversing with one another before speaking in a hushed tone, “Do you still have that magic mirror of yours?”
Cynthia’s eyes widened, as if Zelda had asked her something unthinkable. “Whatever for?”
“We’re looking for something,” Zelda replied. “And we believe your mirror may help us find it.”
“I…” Cynthia glanced at Zelda, and then at Bea. “I’m not sure. What is it you are looking for? Are you sure a simple tracking spell wouldn’t work in its place?”
“This is very important, Cynthia!” Zelda grit her teeth a little in frustration. She reached into the pocket of her dress and handed Cynthia a wad of cash. “Will this suffice?”
Cynthia cautiously took the money and leafed through it, before looking back up at Zelda. “All right,” she conceded with a nod. She placed the money into the cash register and gestured for Zelda and Bea to follow her. “Come with me.”
Zelda and Bea followed Cynthia through the tavern’s kitchen and into a small wine cellar. Past the rows of wine bottles and between the shelves sat a small door, which had a sign that read, ‘DO NOT ENTER’.
Cynthia removed a key ring from her pocket and unlocked the door for the sisters. She then explained, "I have to go back to check on the clients. The mirror is in here – just say, ‘Mirror, show me...’ and then ask for whatever it is you wish to see. You understand?”
“I am familiar with how this works, yes,” Zelda nodded. “This should not take terribly long, Cynthia. Thank you.”
“Not an issue,” Cynthia nodded at the women, before stepping out of the cellar. “I hope you find what it is you’re searching for.”
Zelda stepped into the small room gesturing for Bea to follow. The room was tiny, windowless and dark, and the only piece of furniture in it was an antique writing desk. On top of the desk was the mirror – it was a large, grand, gold-rimmed mirror that emanated a soft glow of blue light.
Bea couldn’t take her eyes off the mirror, approaching it slowly. “Wow…it’s beautiful. Why was it so hard to find one of these mirrors?”
"During the witch hunts, the majority of them were destroyed," Zelda explained as she stepped up to join her sister by the desk. "And King Alcabath, the first sorcerer to create these mirrors, has been dead for centuries. There haven’t been new mirrors made ever since.”
Zelda reached over to touch the mirror, and instantly, the light glowed a pale white. Taking this as a good sign, Zelda cleared her throat and declared, “Mirror! Show us The Corrupt!”
Bea watched the mirror's reflective surface as the light became whiter and some images began to swirl in the reflections. An opening to a cave was soon visible, and as the view deepened into the cave itself, something else became apparent. Several cocoons, glowing red and hanging from the ceiling of the cave, quickly came into view. Light pulsed through the cocoons, and deformed creatures sat motionless behind the translucent covering.
“What are those?” Bea wanted to recoil in disgust at the sight of the cocoons. “Insects?”
“Not insects,” Zelda stared at the cocoons, mesmerized. “That’s The Corrupt itself! There, there is the Kingpin!” she pointed to the biggest cocoon, which was in the center of the others.
“Where is this, then?” Bea asked, leaning in towards the mirror to get a closer look.
The view changed to the outside of the cave again, showing a sign which labeled as ‘COLDWATER CAVE – DO NOT ENTER’.
Zelda smiled wide, leaning up and away from the mirror. “Coldwater Cave! That’s not far from here…if we get on one of the tour buses that frequents that area, we will be there in no time. Come along!” Zelda turned on her heel, heading for the exit.
Bea stared at the mirror for a moment longer, lost in thought. She yanked herself out of it, though, trailing after Zelda.
The dark clouds dissipated soon after.
Three of the mercenaries' cars and Helen's own car took different routes through the woods to Zelda's house at the same time. Sniper had driven through the woods in his van, crossing an old bridge that was thankfully wide enough for the camper.
Scout shuddered as he peeked out the window. “Ugh! I’m getting’ splinters just looking at this bridge…I swear, if this bridge snaps and we get tossed in that lake—”
“It won’t break,” Sniper assured, focusing on the trail ahead. “Looks pretty sturdy to me.”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever…” Scout sighed. He undid his seat belt and stood up. “I’m gonna go in the back and get something drink.”
“Sure, go ahead,” Sniper affirmed. Scout opened the door to the rest of the camper and stepped in, closing the door behind him. Sniper reached for the cup of coffee on his dashboard, taking a sip and focusing back out on the trail.
Moments later, he heard the door open, and as he assumed it was Scout, he said, “Solly and Demo didn’t spill any jars, right? ‘Cause I swear if Soldier did—”
“Jars?” a feminine voice questioned. Sniper turned around, seeing Bronislava standing there.
“Oh!” he exclaimed, sitting up. “Sorry, I thought you were Scout for a second.”
“No, just me.” Bronislava smiled at him, sitting in the passenger seat. “Hope you do not mind that I choose to ride with you here,”
“No, I don’t mind at all,” Sniper assured. “You didn’t wanna ride with your brother and sister, though?”
Bronislava shrugged. “Well, I could ride back with them. But I have never been in…” she looked around the driving area, and into the door of the rest of the camper. “What you call this?”
“A camper,” Sniper replied, smiling over at her a little. “It’s small, but its perfect for me.”
“I see…” Bronislava nodded in agreement. “Would have been useful to have in Russia,”
Sniper laughed a little. “I bet. It doesn’t do too well with cold weather, though, my heater’s bust and broken—”
Before he could finish, Scout shouted from the back, “Hey, there it is!”
Bronislava and Sniper both turned to look, and sure enough, the mansion was close by. They had arrived before everyone else.
Sniper got out of the van first, followed by Bronislava, Scout, Soldier, and Demoman. Right away, they all noticed how eerily quiet everything was.
“You think she’s home?” Sniper asked, approaching slowly, rifle poised.
Scout bent down, picking up a stone. “One way to find out!”
“What are you doing, lad!?” Demo hissed, prying the stone out of Scout’s hands. “We need to wait for the others!”
“Aw, c’mon! We got here first!” Scout protested. “And besides – they won’t care if we get a head start, right?”
As the two bickered, Soldier suddenly got very quiet and stared out at the mansion, his whole body very still. Bronislava noticed, and she started to get an uneasy feeling.
“What?” she asked quietly, concerned, approaching Soldier.
Soldier’s face twitched, focused on something in the bushes behind the mansion. “My father is back there,” he informed her, his voice strangely shaky.
Bronislava paused, wondering if she misheard him. “What?” she looked towards the bushes, but there was no one there.
All of the sudden, Scout started shouting, “Oh, hell, no! The hell are you doing here!?” he pulled his gun from its holster, beginning to shoot wildly into the trees.
Alarmed, Sniper ran up and yanked the gun from him. “What are you doing!?”
“That guy who shot my brother Joey!” Scout spat, furiously trying to get the gun back. “He’s here! I gotta kill him! Bastard, you almost killed my brother!” he sprinted away into the trees, chasing after someone, though the others could not see anyone.
Demoman frantically gave chase, shouting, “Lad! Lad, get back here!”
At the same time, Soldier looked back toward the bushes and charged, shouting, “Pig! Pig, you should stay dead! You call yourself a father, you’re just a criminal!” he threw himself onto the ground, wrestling air.
“What the hell!?” Sniper exclaimed, feeling very worried, and he ran up to Soldier to stop him. “Soldier! Soldier, hey!”
However, it was then that a familiar voice stopped him dead in his tracks: “Now, what do you think you’re doing!? Didn’t I tell you to do push-ups with everyone else already? What, can’t you hear me, runt?”
Sniper’s blood ran cold in a way he hadn’t felt in over a decade. He turned around slowly, mumbling, “No…it can’t be…”
Standing behind him was Mr. Farber, his high school gym instructor. Mr. Farber prodded Sniper and grunted, “What’s the matter, runt? Dingo got your bloody tongue, huh? How ‘bout we call your dad and tell him you’re being a little weakling again?”
Sniper took a step back, gripping his rifle. “No…back the hell up, you bastard, I’m warning you…”
“Bastard?” Mr. Farber repeated, snarky as always. “That’s how you talk to adults, is it, Mr. Mundy? Oh, your parents are gonna love hearing about this! We're all aware that they need to stop making excuses for your scummy, runt behavior..." He trailed off, then grinned broadly at Sniper. “But, of course: they’re not your real parents, now, are they?”
Sniper screamed, "Bastard! " As he immediately lost all restraint, he rammed the gun's nozzle into Mr. Farber's jaw. “I’ll kill you!”
Bronislava was startled when she heard the gunshot and spun around to see Sniper looking around in a frenzy. “Where’d he go!?” his voice cracked, and he ran for the bushes. “Farber, get back here, you rat bastard!”
Bronislava glanced back towards Demoman, her heart racing, and noticed that he had given up trying to control Scout. Instead, Demoman was circling while yelling obscenities and appearing to be racing after someone while brandishing a sword. However, like the others, there was no one there.
Something was making them hallucinate. Bronislava came to the conclusion that this place undoubtedly contained a bizarre power, but she was unsure of how to stop it.
She turned around just in time to see Medic's ambulance approaching, and she dashed towards it, flagging it down. Right at that moment, though, someone stepped in front of her.
“There you are,” the man spoke in Russian, towering over Bronislava. “You really thought you could get away from me?”
When Bronislava saw Oleg, one of the soldiers who had tormented her family, she stumbled backward and collapsed to the ground. Oleg stepped closer, and he smirked down at her. "Oh, dear...what are you now that your big brother isn’t here to protect you, hm?”
Bronislava's inner child briefly wanted to flee and hide in fear, but she did everything she could to fight the urge. She staggered to her feet, holding her ground. “You’re not real!” she spat at him, teeth gritted.
Oleg only stared at her with disdain. “Piteous child…you’re not even worth a beating. I should just strand you and your siblings in the snow and leave you to starve. We would have more resources to go around that way.”
“You’re not real!” Bronislava screamed at him again, and she pulled out her knife to slash it across his face. However, the instant she did that, he disappeared.
Heavy dashed to Bronislava's side and grabbed her by the shoulders. “Sister! What is wrong!?”
Bronislava paused for a few deep breaths before turning around and frantically gesticulating to the others. “Something—something makes us see things! People that are not there!”
As Medic moved closer to join Heavy, he stared in bewilderment as Sniper continued to hack at nothing in the grass with his knife. “Hallucinations…but from what?”
“We have to stop it!” Bronislava urged. “You will see things, too!”
Yana leapt out of the ambulance as well, rushing to her siblings. “Is it the witch!?”
“We do not know!” Heavy told her. “But we stop this!” he looked towards the bushes, where Soldier was writing in the grass and screaming, and he ran towards him.
“I’m not a failure! I’m not! Stop saying it!” Although Soldier fiercely threw his hands out to try to crush the illusion of his father, he was sobbing.
Heavy ran up behind him, restraining him. “Soldier! Is not real!”
“Let me go!” Soldier screeched, trying desperately to throw Heavy off him.
In a frenzy of wrath, Scout ran straight into the ambulance, banging his head against the car and instantly losing consciousness. Medic ran over to him and knelt, feeling his head. “Oh, dear!”
As Lar-Nah quickly stepped out of the van, Medic directed her to Sniper. “Go tranquilize your child, there’s some kind of magic making everyone lose their minds!”
Lar-Nah ran over to Sniper, getting a syringe of full of a light tranquilizer ready. But when she got close to her son, he suddenly started crying and fell to the ground screaming.
“You bastard…” his voice cracked, his lower lip quivering. “What did I ever do to you!? Am I just too different? Is that why you hated me, because you knew I wasn’t from here? That it?” he sobbed again, covering his eyes.
Lar-Nah set the syringe down and knelt down next to Sniper in the grass, placing a hand on his shoulder. “None of it’s real,” she told him quietly. “Whoever you think is there is not there – its some kind of magic.”
Sniper caught his breath, sniffling, and he looked up at Lar-Nah. “Huh?”
“It’s a trick, Zelda is probably tricking every…” she trailed off, hearing a twig snap nearby. Slowly, she turned around to look, and just a few feet behind her stood her aunt Ree-Lan.
“What’s the matter, Lar-Nah?” Ree-Lan took a few steps closer to her, staring down at her with dead eyes. "Why don't you just flee if you're so worried about a trick being played on you and your unwanted child?” She came in close to Lar-Nah, so close that she breathed on her, yet her breath was chilly. "You've never done anything but run away from challenges," she said. “Just like you ran away after you poisoned me, you ungrateful coward!”
Lar-Nah was silently staring into nothing, and Sniper noticed that the others were either doing the same or battling what they were seeing. He then recognized that she was right: they were being tricked.
“Hey!” Sniper snapped, and he grabbed Lar-Nah by the shoulders, turning her around to face him. “We need to find Merasmus, he’ll know how to stop this!”
Lar-Nah blinked a few times, trying to shut out the demanding prescence of Ree-Lan, and she just nodded. “All right…all right,”
Sniper got up and grabbed her by the hand, they ran towards the front lawn. Helen's car arrived, and Merasmus only had to look once to realize something was seriously wrong.
"Stop the vehicle!" Merasmus barked, and as soon as Helen did, he slammed the door open and dashed up to Sniper and Lar-Nah.
Sniper instantly began to try and explain, “There’s something making us see things that aren’t there—”
Merasmus yelled in annoyance, instantly realizing what was happening. “I know what this is! Stay here and try to keep everyone out of trouble!” He dashed towards the front garden, where he began searching through the overgrown flowers and weeds.
Engineer’s truck pulled up later, and the moment he stepped out, Miss Pauling ran up to get his attention.
“Okay, don’t panic,” she began. “But something really weird is going on! There’s some kind of magic that’s making everyone see…people, I guess? I don’t know, I just got here! But, uh, know that if you see anyone or anything you wouldn’t expect to be here, it’s not real!”
“Jesus!” Engineer breathed, thinking this over as Pyro came up to join him. “What kinda psychological warfare is that!?”
Spy looked out towards the ambulance, and with a start, he noticed Scout laying down in the grass next to it. He swore under his breath and rushed over, immediately checking his son’s pulse. “What happened!?”
“He ran into the ambulance and fell unconscious,” Medic informed him, approaching Spy. “He’ll be fine – I’ve hardly had any time to tend to him, everyone else is being terrorized by these horrible visions!”
Spy turned to look at Medic, struck by how disheveled he appeared already. “What happened to you?”
Medic waved him off. “I know they are only deceptive illusions, but whatever it is, it made the apparition of my former headmaster seem amazingly genuine. I'll be alright.”
Merasmus ran up to the front garden of the mansion, which seemed to have fallen into disarray. Using a light beam, he scoured the soil, until he found a disturbed patch and dove his hand straight into it.
Within moments, he yanked out a creature – it was a small, pig-like animal, with dark black eyes and smooth pink skin. It squealed in alarm, writhing, and everyone’s visions suddenly fell away.
Demoman caught his breath and put down his sword, looking around in confusion, realizing he was no longer chasing after the man who had stalked him many years ago. “What…what happened?”
“This happened!” Walking to the middle of the lawn while holding up the beast for everyone to see, Merasmus declared, “A Brainpig!”
Panting, Miss Pauling staggered to her feet. “A what!?”
“A Brainpig!” Merasmus repeated. “These creatures have potent magic which delves into the minds of its victims. They then use the information they learn to create apparitions of people who caused harm to you in the past! Zelda must have gotten a hold of one of these and used it to ward us off!” he turned the squirming Brainpig around to look in its face. “What do you have to say for yourself, hm!?”
The Brainpig shrieked in a high-pitched voice, “Turn me loose! I apologize! Had I known there was a wizard, I’d have never agreed to watch over Zelda’s domain!”
Spy adjusted his mask, squinting at Merasmus and the Brainpig. “Is…it that pig talking?”
Merasmus ignored him and asked the Brainpig, “Where is Zelda, now?”
“She went to see a magic mirror!” the creature squealed. “To a tavern!”
“Magic mirror…tavern…” Merasmus’s eyes widened, and he threw the Brainpig to the ground with disdain. “I know where Zelda is! I’m going to go stop her!”
“Wait! What about this mission!?” Helen demanded, having found both her heels in the tall grass and slipping them on.
“Forget the mission! She’s not even here!” Merasmus grunted, and he looked to where the Brainpig was slinking off. “You had better run far away from here, you little vermin!”
The Brainpig wailed in agony and scurried off into the woods, never to be seen again.
Merasmus sighed in relief and turned back to the others. “There, that should take care of that little problem. Now…we need to get to that tavern!”
Medic stared at him in disbelief. “You...you just let the Brainpig get away!”
“That’s not the concern at the moment!” Merasmus snapped. “Listen to me: Zelda went to the Blue Bell Tavern, which is owned by the witch who has one of the last magic mirrors! She’s going to find the location of The Corrupt, and we need to stop her, now! I will teleport myself there if I have to!”
“Teleport? You could have done that the whole time? And you had someone drive you here?” Sniper asked, annoyed.
Merasmus cast a glare in his direction. “Teleportation is not as easy as it looks, mortal!”
"Get a head start - we'll..." She looked around, wincing at how disheveled everyone was from this one experience. “We will catch up to you!”
Merasmus gave a nod, and he soon vanished in a flash of light.
Scout finally came to, his head spinning. “Ugh…what the hell, man?”
Spy sat down next to him in the grass, offering him a sip from his water bottle. “Here,”
Scout took a few swigs, letting out a sigh. “Did I get shot?”
“No…you’re all right,” Spy assured him, patting his shoulder.
Demoman approached the others, dragging his sword behind him, still huffing and panting. “Lord…that blasted, bloody Brainpig made me see that bastard who stalked me…”
Soldier, recovering from the ordeal, turned around and hugging Demo tightly. “If I see that hippie, I will beat his face into goo!”
Demoman smiled a little, and he hugged Soldier in return. “Absolutely, lad…”
Heavy sat in the grass, both arms around his sisters as they all took the time to recover. Medic approached, sitting behind Heavy and resting his head on his shoulder.
“How is everyone?” Medic wanted to know.
“Fine,” Heavy assured, opening up his arms to let Medic slip into the hug. “Hate that pig…hate him.”
“Me too!” Medic huffed. “Shame Merasmus let it run off…I would have loved to study it…”
“Misha?” Bronislava looked up at her brother. “Did you kill Oleg? Years ago? I do not remember…”
Heavy thought about it, and then said, “Yes. I wrung his neck.”
“I helped!” Yana added proudly.
Bronislava smiled, and she took both their hands into her own. “Good.”

henry danger the musical the musical the masterlist
aka i finally did it
name courtesy of @henry-p-fart :)
henry: most definitely a newsies fan. maybe it’s because of the late 1800s Aesthetic. maybe it is entirely because of “seize the day”. maybe it is because he has a raging crush on jeremy jordan (can you blame him?) or maybe it is the inherent eroticism of guys dancing and singing together while wearing newsboy caps. who knows? he just really fucking loves that musical. also, he would never admit it but he holds a very soft place in his heart for waitress.
charlotte: six all the freaking way! the diverse casting? the historical value? the female empowerment of it all? she’s not normally a fan of trying to rewrite history with fiction but damn, those riffs and harmonies in “ex-wives” get her every single time. she would definitely belt every word to “no way”. she is also in love with hadestown, but she has to be emotionally stable to listen to it, or it will undoubtedly reduce her to tears. she loves the whole vibe of it though, and it definitely helps that she was invested in mythology to begin with.
jasper: he’s a huge dear evan hansen person, and legally blonde is a close second. “for forever” has been his number one song of the year on spotify for two years straight now, but he still cries every time he listens to it. he’s the type to frequently reblog posts about how connor and evan should’ve been in love for real. and he just about had a heart attack when he found out that jordan fisher was playing evan in what might have been the most fantastic casting decision ever made (again, can you blame him?).
piper: heathers, heathers, and heathers. piper has been listening to this musical since before it was appropriate for her to listen to this musical. piper petitions the school to do a rendition of it every year despite the entire plot and the very existence of “dead girl walking”. piper has dressed up as heather chandler and done the entirety of “candy store” on numerous occasions, and she has killed it every. single. time. piper is a heathers girl through and through.
ray: for ray it would either be something satirical and dark in its sense of humor, like book of mormon, or something overly dramatic and erotic, like phantom of the opera. probably a good mixture of both. and when he gets into it, he really gets into it. i mean, come on, that black turtleneck from the beginning of the musical episode? that’s enough evidence to safety say that he most definitely cannot keep himself from acting out every single part and trying to hit high notes that he one hundred percent cannot reach.
schwoz: kinky boots. self-explanatory.
they all bop to hamilton together, because it’s a universal truth that lin manuel miranda’s work goes harder than anything else. also, please picture charlotte, piper, and jasper doing a rendition of “the schuyler sisters” with charlotte as angelica, piper as eliza, and jasper as peggy. thank you, send post.

Election 2020 Presidential Candidates Assessment
HOWIE HAWKINS/ANGELICA NICOLE WALKER (GREEN)
Position: End mass incarceration (treat drug abuse as a health problem, not a criminal problem), decriminalize sex work, pardon whistle blowers and political prisoners, and community control of the police
My Opinion: I agree with most of this candidate’s views like, ending mass incarceration, community control of the police, and pardoning. whistle blowers. However I am on the fence about decriminalizing sex work as I have not done excessive. research on the pros and cons of it.
Comparison to Political Party: This candidate follows the beliefs as their political party. Both express their desire to end mass incarceration, control of the police, and prosecuting violent crimes. However, this candidate also addresses issues beyond what their political party addresses, such as monitoring and prosecuting white racist terrorists.
DONALD J. TRUMP/MICHAEL R. PENCE (REPUBLICAN)
Position: “The Department of Justice returned to their longstanding charging policy for federal prosecutors, trusting them once again to charge the most serious, readily provable offense.”
My Opinion: I disagree with President Trump, I think there should be a limit to what the justice department can handle or not.
Comparison to Political Party: Trump did not have a lot of information over solitary confinement in general. The closest was when addressing the department of justice where they are allowed to charge the most serious, readily provable offense. With this he a lines with his political party in believing the justice system should not be set back by any means.
Gloria La Riva/Sunil Freeman (Peace and Freedom)
Position: (N/A) (Emailed)
Email:
Dear Gloria La Riva, The issue I am concerned about is solitary confinement. I am concerned about this issue because of the issues with mental health and prisoner treatment. I am currently a senior at Acalanes High School and I am researching this issue for my senior Government class. Please clarify your stance on this issue. Thank you so much for your time and good luck. Sincerely,  Kiara Machado [email protected]
Roque De La Fuente "Rocky" Guerra/Kanye Omari West (American Independent)
Position: (N/A) (Emailed)
Email:

Jo Jorgensen/Jeremy "Spike" Cohen (Libertarian)
Position: This candidate believes that prisons are too populated and believe drug related incarcerations should lead to rehabilitation instead of imprisonment. “Drug offenders now in prison who have harmed no one will be free to go home to their families”.
My Opinion: I completely agree with this candidate, I agree that prisons need to be less populated and that they are for a variety of reasons. In addition, I agree non-violent drug offenses should lead to rehabilitation instead of being incarcerated.
Comparison to Political Party: They are a lined with their political party in the fact they believe non-violent crimes should not lead to imprisonment but rehabilitation. I think they stray from their political. party believing. that prisons are too populated as they believe there should be punishment for the majority of crimes.
Joseph R. Biden/Kamala D. Harris (Democratic)
Position: Reduce the number of people incarcerated in this country while also reducing crime, criminal justice system must be focused on redemption and rehabilitation, and no one should be profiteering off of our criminal justice system.
My Opinion: I agree completely with this candidate, with every belief made. Sharing all the same opinions I think if I could I would vote for this candidate.
Comparison to Political Party: Joe Biden shares the same beliefs as the democratic party for the most part. Extreme Democrat's would argue he strays from their beliefs but follows the outline.

What would be your dream cast for Hamilton?
Alright this ask has been here for a few days and it’s PUT ME THROUGH HELL
So. I’ve seen Hamilton live in Chicago and now I’ve seen the OBC on Disney plus. I usually have a dream cast for every show I love but jfc I fucking love the OBC so much (and Ik some ppl get mad when you say this) but I genuinely, seriously am in love with the OBC. They’re all so amazing so this was really fucking hard.
The Schuyler sisters are the easiest. So Angelica was a no brainer for me. Ciara Renee is my FAV broadway leading lady ever. I literally fan cast her in everything I can. Her voice is just so fucking smooth and angelic. I think she would kill any of the sisters tbh,, but Angelica and Maria in particular. Imagine??? Her satisfied or the belt at the end of Say No To This? Perfection. I saw Andrea Macasaet sing a cover of Burn on her YT channel and I fully support her as Eliza. I also think Brittney Johnson would make a bomb Eliza. I think Yvette Nacer Gonzalez would sing Say No To This really well so Id love to hear that.
I’m not a fan of Lin’s singing voice AT ALL, but I’m lowkey in love with his Hamilton and I can’t think of anyone I’d kill to see play Ham who hasn’t already. This is the hardest one. (Edit: alright I was talking to my sister and she said in 10 years she would love to hear Anthony Ramos sing for A Hamilton and I 🤯)
As for Burr? I am deeply in love with L Steven Taylor’s entire existence. It actually was a problem. His voice is amazing and? (( he is also so pretty jfc)) Granted he is like 40 (even tho he doesn’t look it at all) I think he would also be an amazing George Washington although, I’d really love to hear Jesse L Martin as Washington.
Lafayette, Laurens and Mulligan were so hard bc I’m in love with the OBC boys. Like truly. In love with them. But I’d cast Blaine Krause as Laf and Jefferson (also I cant picture him playing either of these characters, but I think my love,Heath Saunders, would sing what’d I miss really well) I would cast Jeremy Pope as Laurens and Jelani Aladdin as Mulligans.
Lastly, Gavin Creel as King George would kill me. I’ve had many a fantasy of this. Gavin has legit one of the best voices I’ve heard in my entire life.
