I don’t usually talk politics but you guys are such assholes but here it is:
I live in Sderot in Israel, my town this morning was taken over by terrorists my friends and neighbors murdered. Hundreds of innocent lives taken. I’ve read their texts as they begged for help that didn’t come.
Terrorism is evil, killings of innocents is evil. The ends don’t justify the means.I don’t justify it when Israel, America or any country fucks up- so stop justifying a terrorist group that wants to kill every Jewish person in the world, all Israelis and kills people for being LGBTQ+. As a Jewish gay woman they make it clear I don’t deserve to live. And have tried to kill me many times with rocket fire, and yesterday with invasion.
To all those who say it’s justified- America has done fucked up things in Afghanistan do all Americans deserve to die? To all British people deserve to die? Iran kills people, so does China- do all their civilians deserve to die?
You all have a double standard for Israel, and I’m calling out your bullshit. If you support a terrorist group that has oppressed the women and children and all civilians in Gaza for years, anybody speaking out against them is murdered. Fellow queers are murdered by Hamas- if you think they represent Palestine then you are an idiot. Free Palestine from Hamas.
I’m not justifying this current right wing government, so stop justifying an actual terrorist origination that believes woman are inferior, Jews deserve to die and LGBTQ+ deserve to die.
*I don’t fucking deserve to die*
I’ll say it again: I don’t fucking deserve to die. My wife doesn’t deserve to die, my family and friends don’t fucking deserve to die.
My neighbors are being brutally murdered as we speak.
Get your fucking ethics in order. You’re talking about me.

Love when the antisemites tag their own antisemitism. Let’s break it down.
1. “Jews getting expelled over and over again” is a common antisemitic talking point. On its own it isn’t antisemitic to acknowledge-it’s a historical fact- but as we will soon see, in this context it very much is a sign of antisemitism.
2. The use of the word “you” in “you were expelled” indicates this user is not Jewish.
3.”is it kosher to take any accountability for that” (crippling economies through usury)- here op illustrates that they believe the classic antisemitism that Jews willfully destroy economies through financial manipulation. In actuality, Jews were forced into economic work due to antisemitism, and then were used as scapegoats for economic failure.
4. Note the use of the word “kosher”. When used in this context it’s clearly derisive and meant to be ironic. I’m sure op thinks they’re very witty.
5. “They hate us for no reason”. Victim blaming. Bigotry is never the fault of the victim, and demanding that Jews take “accountability” for the antisemitism we face is yet again an antisemitic talking point. The historical and modern reasons for antisemitism are well documented, especially this specific flavor.
6. This last paragraph is more of the same, this time directly to Jews. “Have you ever thought about what you did to deserve the hate?” Is this paragraph summed up. “There must be some logical reason”-there is. Basic research makes this apparent. However instead op accuses Jews of complacency, subtly implying that it’s intentional, that we want to simply be viewed as victims.
7. Finally, note the tags. Jumblr, Israel tags even though this has nothing to do with Israel, the phrase “am yisrael chai”. Op knows what they’re doing and intentionally wants Jews to see their bigotry, under the thin plausible deniability of “I was just asking a question!” I do not think we should give them that benefit of the doubt. This is blatant antisemitism.

Every single time I hear someone referring to a Jewish person as ‘white’ another little piece of my soul dies.
As a non-American Jew, the first time I ever heard Jews being referred to as white was when I was a full grown adult watching an American reality show. I FOR REAL thought they were making that shit up in order to generate buzz and get people talking about the controversy! That’s how foreign the notion was to me. Imagine my shock and horror to discover that THIS IS A COMMON MISCONCEPTION IN THE UNITED STATES.
It’s the way that referring to Jews as ‘white’ ERASES white people’s antisemitism, it erases our persecution at the hands of white people, it erases our suffering, it erases the OTHERING that Jews had suffered for CENTURIES from actual white people.
Based on what the skin tone of some Jews in a few places might afford them SO LONG AS NO ONE KNOWS THEY’RE JEWISH.
If you have to hide your real identity in order to enjoy the privileges of being perceived as white, YOU’RE NOT WHITE (this is true for Jews just like it is true for other white-passing People of Color).
White passing is not the same as white.
WHITE PASSING IS NOT THE SAME AS WHITE.
Jews are NOT white. Not a single one of us. Not even the ones who can pass as white, let alone all of the Jews who can’t.

i am sick and tired of everything
i am sick and tired of “i don’t have anything against jews” and then getting glared at for my magen david
i am sick and tired of scratching out passages in my required books for classes because of the judenhass in them.
i am sick and tired of people taking the shoah and using it for their own personal gain. i really don’t care about any goyishe thoughts/opinions on the shoah.
i am sick and tired of history being twisted because christian people don’t want to admit that they’ve done horrible things to the jewish people.
i am sick and tired of being asked “are you a jew?” in the most roundabout ways, as if it’s insulting to even think.
i am sick and tired of antisemitism being disguised as antizionism.
i am sick and tired of my people being equated to nazi’s, the literal fascists who committed countless atrocities against us.
i am sick and tired of having to explain to goyim why i continue to be a religious jew.
i am sick and tired of our fears as jews being downplayed and mocked when literal nazi’s still exist and threaten our safety every single day.
i am sick and tired of our existence as people being argued like it’s just some political opinion.
i am sick and tired of the ignorance of goyim.

When I was last on tumblr, it was ten years ago and one of the biggest faux pas you could commit was incorrect tagging.
It was Literally Colonialism to use a tag that was For Certain Oppressed Groups. The actually-autistic tag was created because allistics "took over" the autism tag, and this/other tags became heavily policed by users to make sure they remained a "safe space".
I remember seeing countless posts about how autistics would never be safe if we didn't have a bubble to protect us from interacting with allistics. The same went for tags about transliness and queerness. The going approach used militarized and hyperbolic language to characterize and other folks who weren't in the community: autistics (the group I had the most direct experience with) were attacked by allistic invaders who violated and conquered autistic tagging systems.
The "Literally Colonialism" isn't a joke. I saw plenty of suggestions that to even use a tag which was perceived as being "not yours" was colonization of ideas and thoughts. To be allistic, have an opinion on autism, and tag it as "autism" was held up as being exactly the same as the behavior of empires and nation-states.
Obviously, I don't entirely agree, and don't think this particular hyperbolization is helpful for advocacy or for dialogue. But I do find it interesting how, in the decade since I was last here, it seems to (mostly) still be true that you should only use certain tags if you have a particular identity...
... unless you're not Jewish, in which case feel free to use any and all Judaism-related tags and break the system's meager functionality for Jewish people.
As someone who is using Tumblr to connect to online Judaism, it's daunting to see how many posts under "judaism" are by non-Jews screeching about Israel. Seeing non-Jews openly talk about they tag their posts with gore, rape denial, Holocaust denial, October 7 denial, and other deliberately-triggering material with Jewish-themed tags specifically to make Jewish users of Tumblr feel unsafe. Reading them telling each other about how this is advocacy, this will absolutely win the war for Gazans, and how anybody who blocks them (in order to make sure the tags can actually work as intended) is a genocidal coward. Using that self-same militaristic language to describe their activities, only instead of criticizing, they're bragging.
It's, uh, kind of fucked up.
Imagine going to the actually-autistic tag and finding nothing but a wall of allistics claiming that they've victoriously conquered the tag from those inhuman monsters pretending to have problems when other Real People are the ones who are suffering. I think we would all intuitively understand that this would be Wrong. Even if there was some supposed outward justification for being mad at certain autistics, we would understand that holding all autistics everywhere responsible for it is wrong. That breaking a community's ability to talk to each other is wrong. That trying to trigger people and then telling them to commit suicide is wrong.
And we'd also understand, or come to, that the very action of going "This community I'm not part of doesn't deserve to have this tag, I'mma take it back, or at least ruin it so no one else can have it" is an expression of privilege. It is wrong, and it is immature, and it is cowardice.
These smug, self-involved, active attempts at causing harm make no sense at all if seen as advocacy; they help no one, advance no cause, stop no Zionists (whatever that means) from expressing themselves online.
They only make sense when seen as Jew-hate.

to be clear: what is your stance on i/p conflict
my stance is this:
Both ethnic palestinians and jews have the right to live in the land of Israel as its native people. Jews have lived in Israel for over 3,000 years, and Palestinians have roughly 1,000 years of history there as well.
Hamas' war is a holy war, and their "win" would be the eradication of Jews from our holy land
Israel is not being careful enough in their assault of Hamas: yes, Hamas launches missiles from refugee camps and hospitals and schools, and yes, even by Hamas' numbers Israel only kills 0.8 people per missile, but there is wayyyyyy to much collateral damage.
A ceasefire only means Israel stops defending itself in any capacity, and Hamas continues attacking Israel. It's happened almost 20 times this decade. Hamas doesn't want a ceasefire, they want a concession and then a genocide.
Benjamin Netanyahu should be removed from office, as most of Israel has been asking him to do since summer and earlier.
These are all facts that have been well documented over the past few months and the past few decades.
And that's my "stance"
An end to the conflict needs to happen, but it needs to include the dissolution of Hamas.
sorry for the word salad, but too many Jews are being deemed "zionists" (that word has been distorted on social media these past few months too) simply being anti-hamas.
In the broader world, you see organizations like BDS which maps Jewish communities which has led to schools and temples receiving bomb threats, JVP which has condoned calls for genocide against Jews, and University of Toronto which banned kosher foods. And this is widely accepted, and opponents of these are also called "zionists."
I know that's a lot, but I've been following the I/P conflict and antisemitism for a long time now, and that's the Jewish experience.

CHECK OUT THIS REALLY COOL BOOK ABOUT AFRICAN-JEWISH COOKING!!
Tumblr media
Michael Twitty, the James Beard award-winning author of the acclaimed “The Cooking Gene”,explores the cultural crossroads of ✡️Jewish and African diaspora cuisine and issues of memory, identity, and food🥘.
To Twitty, the creation of African-Jewish cooking is a conversation of migrations and a dialogue of diasporas offering a rich background for inventive recipes and the people who create them.
The question that most intrigues him is not just who makes the food, but how the food makes the people. Jews of Color are not outliers, Twitty contends, but significant and meaningful cultural creators in both Black and Jewish civilizations.
“Koshersoul” includes 48-50 recipes.

I wish everyone harassing random people (esp Jews) on the internet about Palestine a very have you actually done anything to help? Have you donated anything? Have you signed petitions or called lawmakers? Have you attended protests? Have you taken any tangible actions to support and aid Palestine?
Obviously I understand if there are things you aren't in a position to be able to do, but that doesn't mean you should harass people just to feel like you're doing something. That's still not helping anyone in Palestine at all.

You know for a long time I just accepted that Tumblr was a crazily antisemitic place and having random fandom blogs that make gifs randomly reblog a post that says that at least half the world's Jews are redeemably evil and deserve to die for their unforgivable crime of being born was just like the price of doing business. But in light of recent events I've decided to just unfollow people who reblog crap like that, I don't care if their blog is 99% stuff I like and find interesting, I see even one post of antisemitic nonsense you're out of my garden.
