Jiang Cheng:
This tsundere will take a very long time
He will seek both his brother and sister consult to help his beating heart
During your teens year, he will stick to his principle of a perfect wife which is proven wrong
Definitely will fluster a bit, though keeps it within
Also, he is dense and have his inferiority complex hinder his confidence of being with you
During the Sunshot campaign, your gonna be his shoulder to lean on
At this point, he put his feelings away while mourning for his family loss
Definitely seeks you out even after the battle at Yiling and Wei Wuxian death
You sorta had your feelings sorted before this, though feel insecure on his list of his perfect wife
Both of you and him will pin at each other
Definitely there when rebuilding and easing Jin Ling
Your gonna be his guiding hand while also be the shoulder and close person to release his frustration within out
How you guys got together had to do with you talking with a sect leader
He will get jealous and snappy more than usual
Will be cornered when he confesses his feelings, your gonna shocked
Once you also accepted and given your own confession your officially together
When announcing this, the others are gonna just be “oh really? Cool, took you long enough”

Injury caused love?
Tumblr media
Requested by anonymous: hi hi lovie!! i love your writings so much!! they are so freaking good!! could i make request please? can i request a jiang cheng x fem!reader who’s a healer from the lan clan? she mainly is brought along on most missions, acting as the head doctor/healer of most of the clans; almost as good as wen qing. reader interacts with jiang cheng a lot bc jin ling is always getting injured. reader has the motherly/older-sister vibe; always taking care and letting some of the students (mostly sizhui and jingyi) sneak into their infirmary at night for snacks or comfort. jiang cheng and reader? OBLIVIOUS HOPELESS ROMANTIC AND TSUNDERE. nie huaisang, lan xichen, jin guangyao, and wangxian all bully them for their stupidity </3 even the juniors try getting them together,,, jin ling accidentally calls the reader auntie in front of jiang cheng,,, so soft for jiang cheng…i love
Pairing: Jiang Cheng x fem!reader
Word Count: 2706 words
Warnings: none
A/N they don't get together in the end, if you want I'll make a part 2 where they get together, but only after I've finished all other requests :)
Tumblr media
You stared at the boys in front of you, trying to wrap your head around the story they just told. Mostly you were confused at how Jin Ling happened to be the victim since the boy was usually the one to not get injured. Nonetheless, you quickly told them to sit down before grabbing everything.
"Alright. Sizhui, hold this on his arm and put a lot of pressure on it. I have to get some herbs first, I'll be back in a few minutes." You said as you handed the towel to Sizhui before walking out of the room.
You looked through your stash, not much further from your practice and got the necessary herbs before walking back too your practice, only to be stopped halfway by Xichen, Mingjue and Jiang Cheng.
"Clan leaders." You bowed your head at them and Xichen gave you a warm smile.
"This is (y/n), she's our most skilled healer." He explained to the other two, who nodded in response.
"I apologize, but I have to goo back to my practice. Jin Ling got hurt." You said, the last part a bit more to Jiang Cheng. Jiang Cheng didn't seem to react at first, but it seemed to hit him afterwards at what you said.
"Jin Ling got hurt?" "Yes, I don't remember the whole story though. Something happened with a sword and a cliff, I couldn't follow well." You explained before quickly bowing and running off.
You entered your practice again, staring at the boys who were eating snacks.
"You stole my food stock..." You mumbled and Jingyi smiled happily.
"You're lucky I like you guys." You commented to which they all smiled brightly (except for Jin Ling, who was still in pain of course). You stepped closer to Jin Ling and crouched in front of him as you started to inspect and treat the wound quickly.
"Will it scar?" Jingyi asked and you nodded shortly as you continued to wrap the bandage around his arm.
"Definitely. You should start making up a story to tell to others." You joked as you looked up to Jin Ling.
"Battled a giant demon dog!" Jingyi shouts and you can't help but laugh.
"Those don't walk around anymore, a-Yi." "But it'd be awesome!" He commented again before taking a bite of his (your) food. You rolled your eyes as you finished up the bandaging before getting up.
"How about a wolf instead?" You commented as you started to wash your hands in the bowl of water while listening to Jingyi whine. You could hear Jin Ling cuss at Jingyi while Zizhen just laughed and you saw Sizhui shake his head with a smile.
"Don't come back here too often." You said with a smile as you put everything away again.
"Now, out." You said with a smile, pointing at the door. They all quickly ran out, Jingyi managing to grab some food before leaving.
Despite that, they somehow managed to land in your practice every week. It was mostly Jin Ling who got hurt and you learned that Jin Ling was extremely unlucky and unhandy. A combination that usually doesn't go well. You spend way more time with the junior quartet, because they also came by just to hide from lessons or just to get some snacks (which you now bought double from what you usually bought).
Having Jin Ling in your practice constantly also meant that Jiang Cheng came over more often, usually to bring Jin Ling home/to his room since Jin Ling always fell asleep at the practice. Sometimes, he stayed a bit longer and you got to talk to him a bit more.
You then, of course, started to develop a crush on the man.
You were sure that it was obvious, the snickering of Jingyi said enough. Even Sizhui couldn't help but smile every time Jingyi was snickering while Zizhen tried to make them quiet down.
But of course, the visits didn't stop. Jin Ling was back again every week, joined by his friends of course. But this week was the worst.
Jin Ling was laying on the bed, leg propped up as you tried to stop the bleeding while trying to talk to Sizhui about what had happened.
"We were practicing and the sword broke." Sizhui explained and you turned your head while holding pressure on the leg.
"You got a sword in his leg?" You asked and Sizhui nodded before you turned back to Jin Ling.
"Ever heard of practice sword? You know, the wooden one." You said and he looked away in shame, not answering the sarcastic remark. You started to remove the pressure before getting a needle.
"Sizhui, go get his uncle." You said as you started to stitch the wound, after putting a cloth in Jin Ling's mouth so he wouldn't break his teeth. It took awhile and Jin Ling had passed out from the pain earlier, you couldn't blame the poor boy. Jiang Cheng arrived just as you finished the stitching, eyes cast on the cut as well as all the blood on your hands.
"Good, you're here." You said as you got up, cleaning your hands once more in the basin of water, which had already turned red. Once your hands were clean, you took bandages from the table and started to wrap it around his leg.
"He won't be able to walk for awhile, so please make sure he doesn't. I know how stubborn your family can get. He'll also need to take certain medicines every 2 hours or so for 3 to 4 days." You said before glancing at Jiang Cheng, who was still staring at his nephew and you could spot worry in his eyes.
"He's fine, don't worry too much. You're free to stay until he wakes up." You got up again when you finished wrapping Jin Ling's leg and Jiang Cheng sat down near the bed, eyes now cast towards the broken sword pieces that you had pulled out of the wound.
"What happened?" "The sword broke and hit his leg. These boys don't seem to know the consequences of practicing with actual swords." You replied with a chuckle as you grabbed some tea, offering a cup to Jiang Cheng who gratefully accepted it.
"Is getting hurt also something that runs in your family?" You asked and he looked up, shrugging softly.
"I mean, you got hurt pretty often as well. My teacher healed you quite often." You joked and you could see the wheels turning in his head before it seemed to click.
"You were that girl always watching from the side?" He asked and you nodded, smiling brightly at the thought that he remembered you. You continued to talk and for the first time, he actually tried to hold up the conversation as well.
From then on, everything seemed to take a turn.
Jiang Cheng would greet you if he saw you and sometimes he would converse in conversation , but those conversations weren't very long most of the time. Sometimes his friends (especially Huaisang and Wuxian) were with him and they often gave you a smile, but you could see the twinkle in their eyes. Sometimes the other leaders were with him, Xichen and Guangyao often gave you a sweet smiles, and you couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy every time. Even their smile seemed to hide a certain mischief. You were well aware that they all knew by now, after all Wangji's blunt comments about 'you staring at Jiang Cheng like a puppy in love' (and Wuxian and Huaisang's snickering after said comment) usually did the trick.
Now, they would always approach you while dragging Jiang Cheng behind them. They would start a conversation, trying to get Jiang Cheng to join the conversation at all cost while trying to not make it obvious (and failing miserably in your opinion). Jiang Cheng didn't seem to notice however and just curtly answered the questions thrown his way. He didn't seem particularly happy when he was near you, frown permanently shown on his face as he stood near you as he waited to leave the conversation. It was something you were quite annoyed by. Not because of him, but rather the fact that he was forced to meet you by his friends. So you asked them to stop and they did, much to their annoyance.
But you did see him a few more times again, mostly for Jin Ling's checkups. He'd just sit in the corner, staring as you cleaned his nephew's wound.
"A-jiě?" Jin Ling spoke in a whisper and you glanced up to him, giving him a small nod.
"What is it?" You whispered back and he glanced at his uncle before getting a bit closer to you.
"Uncle is staring at you..." "Don't be ridiculous A-Ling." You said, flicking his forehead softly with a disapproving chuckle before continuing to clean his wound. The boy couldn't help but smile a bit, something you couldn't help but smile in return to. Seeing the boy smile was still something new and it didn't happen that often, so you were always happy when you did see him smile.
"I'm sure about it, a-jiě. He has that look in his eyes." Jin Ling said and you looked up again, hands freezing in place before you took a glance at Jiang Cheng as well. His gaze was focused to the two of you, but you suddenly did notice his eyes shifting to you every few seconds as they lingered on your form.
"Well, a-Ling. You might be right for once." You commented, a small smirk appearing on your face to which Jin Ling smiled again.
When you finished cleaning and rebandaging Jin Ling's leg, you asked Jiang Cheng to wait for a second while Jin Ling limped out.
"You know, Jin Ling told me something." You said and he looked at you in confusion, waiting for you to continue.
"He said you were staring at me. I don't think so.... Unless you were?" You teased, eyes moving to his figure and smiling slightly when you noticed how his ears had turned red slightly as he stared in front of him.
"I'll see you later, I have to collect some stuff." You said before walking off, leaving the man standing in front of your practice.
You didn't see him for a few days after that and you couldn't help but feel a bit weird about it. Nonetheless, you continued with your routines. Taking care of some of the younger disciplines, clean your practice and getting ready to have your practice raided by the junior quartet. The food that you had gotten was gone by the end, most of it by Jingyi, and that was even after you bought extra.
"I just went to the market and you already ate all of it?" You asked as you looked in the cabinet and Jingyi gave a cheeky smile as he ate the last candy, happily eating it.
"A-jiě, when are you and clan leader Jiang getting together?" He then asked, receiving a shove from Jin Ling before looking at Sizhui for help as he tried to block Jin Ling's attacks.
"A-Ling!" The boys paused and you sighed.
"If you're going to hit him, do it where no one sees." You commented and you saw betrayal flash in Jingyi's eyes while Jin Ling just smirked before he started pocking the elder in the ribs. You just shook your head at the two before continuing your stitching on Jin Ling's robe. Then you could suddenly hear shouting and frowned, laying down your work and peaking your head out of the door. You could see Wuxian walking around, Jiang Cheng hot on his heels with an annoyed look. You were then pulled back by Jin Ling.
"Don't tell them we're here..." He begged and you looked at them, all a bit afraid of the consequences of sneaking out, and you scoffed with a smile before nodding and walking out of the practice.
"What's wrong with you two?" You asked as you looked at both men, but only Wuxian stared your way.
"Have you seen Sizhui? Or the others?" He asked and you could hear he was quite concerned.
"Why, what happened?" You returned and Jiang Cheng stepped forward.
"Some disciplines say that they saw them being dragged off and Wuxian is paranoid." He said, receiving a glare from the other (which Jiang Cheng gladly returned).
"I'm sure they're fine, a-Xian." You said and he huffed.
"You two should get married, makes bullying me much easier." He grumbled and you rolled your eyes with a laugh while Jiang Cheng just rolled his eyes.
"Very funny. You're just not thinking rationally. We both just acknowledge that." Jiang Cheng said and Wuxian just huffed again.
"You two fit each other." And then he just walked off, leaving you and Jiang Cheng alone. You looked at him and found him already looking your way, ears red once more.
"Don't be too hard on him, he's just worried." You said and Jiang Cheng nodded shortly.
"Are you not?" "Jin Ling can defend himself, he'll be fine." He answered curtly and you flicked his head harshly, making the man flinch before looking at you in shock.
"That's your nephew, at least act like you care." You commented angrily before walking back to your practice, seeing 4 pair of eyes stare at you intently.
"What?" You asked and Jin Ling spoke up first.
"You and uncle sound like a married couple..." He said and you felt your face heat up at the comment. But then you saw the terror in their eyes and turned your head, Jiang Cheng standing in the doorway with a stoic expression.
"We'll be on our way then..." Sizhui commented before dragging the other 3 with him and past Jiang Cheng quickly before they all broke into a sprint.
"Bye, auntie." Jin Ling shouted and you saw Jiang Cheng frown as he watched his nephew run out with a smile before he turned back to you.
"You lied about seeing them." "I never said whether I saw them or not nor did anyone give me the chance to say it." You said as you sat down, grabbing Jin Ling's robe up again.
"Is that Jin Ling's?" "Yes, it is. He tripped again and it ripped, so I'm stitching it. You should buy him some new clothes, some have over 20 stitch-spots. I'm losing all my thread on these, I'm tempted to use a different color to make it noticeable." You joked and Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes again, grumbling something under his breath.
"What are you grumbling about? Asking yourself how you'd fallen for me?" You teased, watching his ears turn red again and you smiled again while looking back at the stitching. You looked up when he stayed quiet, seeing that the blush had reached his face and you frowned.
"You alright there?" You asked and he snapped out his trance and nodded coldly before he turned to leave.
"You're leaving?" You asked and he turned his head around to face you. "I mean, it's pretty boring here and you chased my previous company away before I could finish..." You said and you saw him sigh again before he sat on a chair a bit further from you. Even with his annoyed expression, you couldn't help but smile that he took your joke serious enough to stay. You continued your work, glancing at him ever so often as you tried to talk to him (not to much avail). You stopped, however, when you noticed that his eyes were closed and his head was falling down ever so often before he straightened himself up. You smiled and stood up, walking his way and crouching down before gently poking his shoulder. He woke up in and instant and you flinched with his sudden movement, surprised at how close his face was to yours now.
"You should go to your room to sleep, otherwise your neck will hurt." You said as you stood up again, pulling him up with you. It was clear that he was still somewhat sleepy, eyes almost threatening to fall shut again.
"Come one, get out." You laughed and he finally looked awake at the statement, blinking a few times before looking at you.
"I apologize-" "Ah, stop it. I invited you in, no need to be so formal." You interrupted him, which startled him slightly before he simply shut his mouth.
"Feel free to drop by again." You said and he nodded, but you stopped him just before he left.
"And I don't mean with Jin Ling."

don't mind me, i'm just having some dirty thoughts about jiang cheng
Tumblr media
Thinking about grumpy Jiang Cheng. He usually keeps his tone and mood in check when it comes to you ── after quickly learning that your patience was short when it came to his bad temper ── and after getting his ass hit so many times that just looking at your hand made him remember the pain. But there are times when he wakes up on the wrong side, those days when his patience is shorter than usual, more and more problems pile up for him to solve and nothing is on his side. So even when you tell him to get some rest and eat something you brought him, he explodes, tired of so many demands and so many requests, even if it was a genuine one, and takes out all accumulated frustrations on you. Bad luck for him that you're not one of his underlings who fears his wrath. Instead of backing off or apologizing you pull him into your lap, regardless of who might hear or see, ignoring his flushed cheeks and the bite in his voice ("let go of me, now!") and reminds him again of what he forgot ── brats don't get rewards, only punishments. Beat him until he stops arguing with you and demanding you stop. Beat him until his ass is red. Beat him until jiang cheng loses control of his voice and starts screaming and begging, so loud you fear he'll have a sore throat the next day. So when he's exhausted, sore, and with a hard cock you won't pay attention to, put him to sleep and solve all the problems that bothered your clan leader, hoping he wakes up in a better mood.

Tumblr media
Lan Xichen • 蓝曦臣
Lan Xichen is very perceptive to those he keeps in his inner circle, as he always wants to treat the ones he cares about the best. For his brother, the disciples, and for you: he really does keep one eye open on everything, for anything.
However you meet him doesn't affect him as he does not discrimination against any person for their status, body, or quirks. If you hadn't passed so well back then, he notes it, but still treats you like any another man. If you have passed for a long time, he doesn't clue into anything except you're a very attractive man. He's very open about how he sees you too!
As your relationship grows and your lives intertwine more on their own during the setting peace (rising storms), you finally come out to him while you both enjoy your favorite drinks in the Gusu dining hall. It's not the most private place, but everyone can tell you both are having a deep discussion by how concentrated you both were, and gave you a respectable space to talk.
Lan Xichen listens intently and takes a sip of his tea, and can only smile back at you as he begins to speak. "I am glad you've opened up to me about this. Thank you for trusting me."
Nothing really changes between you two (unless you bind, then he might become more doting) and Lan Xichen does enjoy caring for you personally after you start going out officially. If he just happens to kiss you first because he's just so happy, can you blame him?
Jiang Cheng • 江澄
He had no way to know or suspect anything unless you're the type to strip at random, and guessing from how he had to take a minute to himself later: he isn't perceptive or knows exactly what to look for here to begin with.
Jiang Cheng is very paranoid and you can tell it's from the recent wave of demonic cultivators villagers he had on his hands, and you can tell he's still thinking about them while you both relax in his home. He was doing reports and had stains of ink on the side of his hands, but gave you his time anyways.
He had always made time for you in the past and the both of you were a unit to not mess with while doing paperwork. He was a rock to proper yourself on, but even Jin Ling knows that you're a man sturdy enough to take Jiang Cheng's issues on your shoulders. Neither of you two dragged each other down, you've only grown as far as you know and you hope it stays that way.
When you tell him, he was leaning on your shoulder while you were behind his desk, and it just felt right to tell him here. "... I couldn't tell, to be honest. Everyone is built differently with different quirks, and thank for telling me."
Something changes when you get into the heat of action, but Jiang Cheng doesn't mention anything about your person at all. You suspect the blushing and the new hand holding afterwards might mean you made him a bit more open.
Jin Guangyao • 金光瑶
Paranoia runs under his skin like fire after he had rid himself of his son and ex-fiance as his own form of mercy, the horrors he thinks about. But something about talking to you and having a grounded setting brings him back from his spiral.
His life is not easy to let other people in to listen for, and he's very guarded of what he doesn't want others to know. Lan Xichen, an important person to him, doesn't know what happened at the Nie manor. His ex-fiance never knew his secrets outside of what a married man might have to share. He'll also take the hit to his name, especially with a divorce he won't even discuss with officials. But you seem to loosen his lips with how you take to him, almost like this was a prize for all the hardships he endured...
He has the largest power of the Venerated Triad and has many forms of official work to handle in-person. But you're a trusted individual and you've long been given permissions to be alone with him as you please. If he just so happened to treat his favorite man to a good lunch in a secluded area of the Lanling surrounding city, oh well.
Hearing what you have to say is the least shocking thing he's had to process in a long time. "You are still my favorite person, my dearest. This changes nothing, I assure you. Unless..." He flirts.
He's never going to fully be open until the end, but you'll eventually peel back his skin to see his skeletons. For now, he simply wants to kiss his boyfriend and continue to rebuild all that has crumbled.

Okay I just can't get this image out of my head:
Zidian tied around your body intimately while a forehead ribbon is tied around your neck like a collar. Jiang Cheng bruising your lips and fondling your chest whilst Lan Xichen -with his Lan arm strength, hooks your knees on his elbows, devouring your clenching pussy. Them taking turns ruining you -using the forehead ribbon as a gag and zidian to tie your hands behind your back, till sunrise.

jc grips the underside of your jaw, just hoisting your head back and making sure all your pretty little moans are loud and clear for the both of them. he's so unforgiving with his kisses, taking your breath away and leaving you babbling as a hand trails down to rub two fingers at your clit
lxc either swats his hand away and shoots him a glare or let's him aid in overstimulating you. really depends on how deep he's into it, but regardless of that he's holding down your legs, chuckling whenever you buck into him so desperately — alternating between eating you out tenderly or practically fucking you with his tongue. "like that, darling? can you come for me again? like a good little doll?"
your wrists are either bound by zidian or you're choking from the ribbon around your throat, regardless of which, you're completely restrained and under their mercy

A shimming bell sounded in the gentle breeze blowing through the town. Shining (C) eyes looked around in interest before travelling on to the boy they were locked on before. He had a slight frown on his face. (Y/N) wondered why. He huffed and moved along without another word.
It’s not that they had been talking. In fact, he had most likely not even noticed them standing off to the side, in the opening to an alley. They had spotted him across the street as he walked together with an older boy and girl. (Y/N) could barely make out what they were talking about over the bustle of the street.
That’s where their eternal struggles came from, that boy. (Y/N) became a Jiang disciple, hardworking and loyal. There was just one problem; they were in love with Sect Leader Jiang Fengmian’s son, Jiang Cheng.
Being a Jiang disciple made it possible to see Jiang Cheng every day but that also meant they had to see him every day. This was an internal battle of liking it and hating it.
There was something about the boy slowly growing into a young man. (Y/N) had always been drawn to him, in a way they knew wasn’t normal. Not that (Y/N) themselves were normal in any way. They were terrified of Jiang Cheng- or anyone else for that matter- finding out and hunting them down because of it.
(Y/N) heard the oldest disciples talking about the Cloud Recesses and how the lessons would start soon. They would play fight over who would be selected to go with Jiang Fengmian’s children. (Y/N) thought it looked so much fun when the other disciples would wrestle each other as they played, but they were too scared to join in. They knew regular humans were much more fragile than themselves so they tended to be extra careful around them.
“Obviously I’m going!” One boy taunted another.
“No way! You? It’s gonna be me.” Another called back.
“How many will be going?” (Y/N) asked one of the girls sitting next to them.
“I think about five along with the Jiang children.” She hummed.
After that, they were all called to the main hall for the announcement. The sect leader sat in his seat, Jiang Cheng and his siblings standing next to him.
(Y/N) couldn’t help but glance up at him every few moments. He looked as stiff as he always did when something official happened, but (Y/N) caught themselves staring anyway. The people going with them to Cloud Recesses were called and they stood off to the side, wide smiles on their faces.
“-and lastly-“ Wait, there were already five people selected. “(Y/N), I have high hopes for you.” Jiang Fengmian smiled as he nodded at them. (Y/N) bowed quickly, trying to hide the smile spreading on their lips.
What they didn’t see was that Jiang Cheng noticed and his face softened at the sight.
“Thank you, Sect Leader!”
Tumblr media
(Y/N) kept their distance from everyone the entire time travelling, keeping to the back of the group. Not only because they didn’t dare be close to Jiang Cheng, but because it gave them a clear view of the group and that helped them feel at ease knowing everyone was in their right place.
When they arrived at the gates, they were quickly turned down after the realization that they had forgotten their invitation.
“I’ll go back to the inn, hopefully, we just dropped it there.” (Y/N) offered but Wei Wuxian was quick to stop them.
“I’ll do it.” He reassured.
(Y/N) couldn’t shake the feeling left behind after Lan Wangji had looked at them by the gates. His icy gaze felt like it had bored into their soul.
“A-(Y/N), are you alright?” Jiang Yanli asked worriedly as she stood beside them by the riverside where they had made camp.
“Oh, yes. Please don’t trouble yourself with worrying over me.”
“Nonsense.” She smiled as she pat their shoulder. “Please tell me if anything brings you discomfort.” She reassured. They sighed and nodded with a strained smile.
They were relieved when Lan Wangji led them into the cloud recesses, but they also avoided him like he was the plague as they walked at the back of the group again.
As the lectures started, (Y/N) would mostly keep to themselves to not cause anyone any trouble. Wei Wuxian would be the one to do that enough for an entire sect.
“Are you sitting here all alone again?” A gentle voice came as a figure stepped into their view. They were sitting under a tree behind one of the buildings, looking up to see Nie Huaisang smiling at them, fan in hand.
“Young master Nie.” They scrambled to stand up but Nie Huaisang stopped them.
“Woah, take it easy. There’s no need, I’m the one who approached you.” He said as he bowed with a smile. “Mind if I join you?” They nodded quickly and watched as he sat down close. They carefully scooted away a little, hoping he wouldn’t notice, but he did and looked saddened.
“I’m sorry.” They mumbled as they placed their hands on their lap. “I’m not safe to be close to.”
“Are you sick?” He asked nonchalantly. They shook their head carefully.
“Then I don’t see how you can be dangerous.”
“Young master Nie!?” Wei Ying’s clear voice called out loudly from around the corner of the building.
“I’m here!” He waved his fan as Wei Wuxian came into view.
“Oh, A-(Y/N)?” He gave a wide bunny smile as he made his way over quickly.
“Yelling is not allowed.” (Y/N) said gently and stifled a chuckle as he groaned.
“Not you too!”
“A-(Y/N)!” Wei Wuxian called happily as he, Jiang Cheng and Nie Huaisang were on their way to their rooms. He waved for them to come over. With a quirked eyebrow, they trotted over curiously. They kept their eyes on Wei Wuxian.
“We snuck in some wine. Want in?” He whispered with a mischievous smirk. They backed away with a frown.
“Wei-“
“Come on!” He said before he was pulling them along.
“We really shouldn’t.” (Y/N) mumbled worriedly as they watched the three young men drunkenly stumble around. They had insisted on taking a walk to sober up. Thanks to (Y/N) they hadn’t drunk as much as they could’ve but they were still clearly drunk.
(Y/N) wasn’t sure where they were but they never failed to notice how dark and eerie the forest was around them. They glanced over at a bush as they heard a sound, too quiet for normal human ears to hear, and when they looked back the three boys were gone.
“Wei Wuxian? Nie Huaisang? Young master Jiang!” They started following the smell of alcohol still hanging in the air faintly. “Hello?”
Then a moment later screams travelled through the trees and they took off sprinting towards the sounds of distress.
None of them had thought of bringing their swords, so there they stood, huddling against a tree as a dark figure of a creature inched towards them. Nie Huaisang was close to fainting in We Wuxian’s arms and Jiang Cheng was yelling accusations left and right at his brother. More sounds of twigs snapping and leafs rustling made them freeze. Wei Wuxian never thought he would be grateful if it was Lan Wangji who found them, rather having him punish them for the endless rules they had broken just in one night than to be eaten alive by a night creature.
A loud growl snapped them out of their thoughts as the sound of large paws stepping over a fallen log. The yellow eyes could easily have been a trick of the moonlight if it wasn’t for the coal-black fur absorbing it all, casting a large shadow. Taking one look in its general direction, Nie Huaisang fainted on the spot, weighing We Wuxian down to the ground. Jiang Cheng took a step in front of them as he tried to keep his eyes on both of the dark creatures. It let out one more deep grown before snapping its head towards the other creature and jumping at it with teeth bared. It was a fight between black spots, barely visible in the dark under the trees. The smaller creature then fell to the ground, dead most likely. Jiang Cheng widened his stance as the last creature stalked closer. He noticed the limp in its step and the way its pointed ears laid flat against its head. He frowned as it slumped to the ground in front of him.
“Is it dead?” Wei Wuxian whispered to his brother as he held Nie Huasang in his arms.
“No.” Jiang Cheng kneeled next to its large head as he studied it. A low whimper pushed past its throat as its breathing became heavier. He blinked and a moment later the beast had changed form.
“A-(Y/N)?” He frowned as he fanatically pushed forward to bring them into his arms. The ears remained on top of their head even in their more human form and the bushy tail behind them wagged weakly as he looked them over.
“Young master Jiang.” Their voice was weak before they let out a wet cough, blood dripping down their chin.
“Shut up.” His words held on venom as his eyes glossed over with worry. “Let’s get you back.” He said as he carefully scooped them up in his arms.
“You’ll get in trouble for being out so late.” They mumbled tiredly.
“You’re more important.” He cut them off as he started looking for the way back, Wei Wuxian and Nie Huaisang in tow.
“You’re breaking the rules.” A stern voice said as soon as Jiang Cheng had put (Y/N) down on their bed. They all turned around in shock.
“Lan Zhan! Now is not the time to talk about rules. Can't you see they’re bleeding?” Wei Wuxian frowned at the Lan brother. Lan Wangji took a moment to look over the wounded body before giving a reluctant nod.
“I will fetch bandages.”
Tumblr media
“A-Cheng, how are they?” Jiang Yanli asked her brother worriedly as they met up outside the next day. She had heard from Nie Huaisang during breakfast when she had asked about her absent brother.
“They need to eat.” She frowned as she held up the basket of food in her hands.
“Sleeping.” He sighed.
“I’ll but it by the bed for when they wake up.” He reassured her and took the basket. She nodded before reluctantly being on her way.
“Young master Jiang?” (Y/N) mumbled quietly as she opened their tiered eyes. He tore his gaze from the basket he put down to look at them.
“A-(Y/N).” They smiled at him before sighing.
“I could get used to this.” They almost whispered.
“Used to what?” He asked as he knelt next to the bed.
“Hearing your voice say my name so softly right when I wake up.” They smiled with their eyes closed in contentment as he placed his large hand on their bandaged forearm, his thumb drawing comforting patterns against the little bits of exposed skin.
“Don’t you have class?”
“No, I’m here taking care of you, stupid.” They chuckled at his empty words. It was quiet for a moment.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” He asked softly.
“Afraid of rejection. I didn’t want to push you away.”
“Because it happened before?”
“Mhm. Your father saved me mush like he did A-Xian. Only I was of less importance. But his heart was in the right place.”
“Just don’t do something like that again.”
“Keep a secret or save you when your life is in danger because I have a feeling you will need it a lot in the future.” They chuckled.
“Shut up.” He sat on the edge of the bed before leaning over them. They noticed the shift in weight and the shadow coming to cover their face and opened their eyes. He held their gaze for what felt like forever before he leaned down and placed his soft lips on their forehead, slightly clammy from a light fever.

↳ summary: "i follow you despite my shortcomings because you need a rock. you can stumble, but when i'm beside you then i will never let you fall."
or the told out-of-order story about how you and jiang cheng grew close, and fall in love with one another at some point but never noticed and the little moments where you looked out for one another. until it was pointed out during the 13 years you've known one another a few times by jin ling and then again by wei wuxian where both of you somehow go "oh god, when did we fall in love?"

writer's blurp: got some more jiang cheng/reader goodies i just wanna give this guy a smooch. timeline wise, jiang cheng meet's the reader a little bit after WWX dying for real, but that's for another short to explain, but you can probably put this almost a year & half relationship-wise? idk i'll slowly sort more of this out timeline-wise for ya'll and myself. this short jiang cheng gifts the reader a clarity bell because while the reader isn't a cultivator you're not a full regular jo, but that's for another short-- this one is for jiang cheng to give you a gift that's very important to you. •┈┈ master list : ↳ previous | next

at the apex of the world, you watch how the world falls around you, stone crumbling beneath the feet of both the strong and weak. how the sky above and the earth below are ablaze with justice (or was it conquest) and all you can do is run. lungs burning, muscles screaming begging for you to stop, but you couldn't.
lest you stop to breathe-- to stop would allow the shadows of the falling sun to catch up to you (if they do then you are dead) and so you kept running.
•┈┈ running. running. running. running. running. keep running. always running.
if you run far enough then you wouldn't hear the screaming, smell the blood and see how the bodies of the defeated were being trampled upon. carving a path in blood, and making a bridge for those stronger to tread upon.
it didn't matter where you ended up, so long as you no longer stood at the apex of the world to watch this battle, keep running so that when you reach the edge you would fall with the setting sun.
to fall with the setting sun at the apex of the world, to become a god-shattering star with your action-- it was nothing more than a dream whose end you would never see.
you wake up from your dream. you lack a golden core thus you would be unable to become a god-shattering star. so you should simply fall-
fall fall fall and fall until you would be a stain on the ground.
you would not be able to sleep after having that old dream, a dream that was a lie whispered in your ear, but it was your life to give it up for someone else at the expense of your continued existence.
you wipe away the sweat sticking to your skin from the dream, tie your hair up, you put on your uniform slowly, lost in how many how long it has been since you had that dream. scroll and book in hand you leave your quarters.
it's still far too early in the morning for any work to be done, but you could read over documents, making an itemized list of things that jiang cheng would need to focus on by importance, then attempt to have him wander the city afterward.
lost in your own thoughts you don't realize where your feet have carried you until a familiar someone whose presence belongs to none other than jiang cheng himself.
"i never took you for someone to ignore others when your name is called," jiang cheng's tone is harsh, but the worried expression doesn't go unmissed, "are you still asleep? or... are you trapped in that dream again to be standing here so underdressed?"
standing here? jiang cheng's question seems to clear your mind enough to notice where you stand, the wind gently moving your clothes and losing strands of hair, the sky so close that you could touch it with the earth below you being so far away, and your feet just inches from the edge.
a strong grip on your arm and the warmth radiating from it chases the small chill that had settled in your bones from how long you had been standing here, but also at how close you were to no longer existing once more.
you take in how you are not dressed despite believing that you had gone through the motions to do so. you stand here so close to the heavens, so far from the earth and what gazed back at you was worry and warmth.
"this-this one begs for forgiveness sandu shengshou! this one was still dreaming!" you use jiang cheng's title, silently praying that the man does not notice how much of a mess you truly are.
if he hadn't woken you up then... you would have-- you don't want to think about how much finding your broken body, or seeing you fall would have hurt jiang cheng. despite the front he puts on, he is truly a man with a very kind, and very big loving heart.
the sound of jingling grabs your attention, and you look.
a clarity bell.
"take it." jiang cheng's tone is flat, leaving you no room for an argument, with another small twitch of his hand the bell rings. slowly, but surely with each little ring the fog in your mind cleared, making it easier and easier for you to breathe.
"this one is not a disciple. so this one does not need a clarity bell." you reply, still keeping an eye on the clarity bell in jiang cheng's hand, the tassel moving gently in the breeze.
"this isn't something that we will argue over. disciple or not, you will take this clarity bell and when it rings it'll keep that head of yours clear," jiang cheng all, but pulls you towards him and presses the bell against your palm, which despite how cold the metal should be it feels like it could possibly burn its imprint into your hand.
"if the dead wish to beckon you to them that badly, then they'll have to first go through me, and if i'm not around then the bell will suffice until i arrive."
jiang cheng's kindness is rough around the edges, as his grief still hangs heavy in his heart and over his head, but he moves forward. even though the ones he wishes to still be at his side more than anything are no longer here, there is still a room for each one of them here, waiting, and collecting dust for people who can never return.
(you silently wondered if he would make a room for someone such as you in those halls)
"this one thanks you sandu shengshou." you speak with such a fragile tone, jiang cheng didn't respond to your words, simply turning around and walking away before stopping to look at you once more.
"well? are you going to keep standing there looking like a fool? or are you going to follow me as my right hand should?"
you receive stares and hear whispers about the clarity bell, but one piercing glance from you or the bark of an order from jiang cheng is enough to silence those bold enough to speak.
the whispers die down and you never truly think about the clarity bell other than for its most basic functions and how jiang cheng seems relieved to see that you wear it.
jin ling asks about the bell, the young man moving his hand so that it rattles repeatedly once you hand it over to him. you laugh quietly while watching him.
it isn't until years later from wei wuxian that you learn the clarity bell that you keep so close to your person was originally jiang cheng's-- to which you respond that he has to be wrong.
no wei wuxian is absolutely positive that bell is jiang cheng's.
the only thing different now to the bell than when he last remembered seeing it is there are a few beads added (to which you respond was from jin ling and jiang cheng on your birthday), a prayer charm for good health (from jin ling one new years how old it is clearly visible to any able to see it up close) and lastly, a talisman to ward off bad thoughts (from jiang cheng being a worry wart when you had to leave his side for a bit due to a mission).
wei wuxian just smiles while listening to you explain each one as if it would somehow tell him that he's wrong, that this isn't jiang cheng's bell, but just some random bell that he had on him--
"thank you, for being with him. he wasn't all alone, maybe that's why he isn't as mad at me as he could be-- only a little bit of a snappy dog."
"haaa! sandu shengshou is only ever more bark than bite with those he loves-- and if this one can be so bold to say this then... if he can act like this towards the yiling patriarch even if you should never be able to reconcile, you are still his family, still his brother."
a warm, silence hangs over the two of you. you do not bring up how wei wuxian's lip trembles, or how he quickly wipes his eyes. nor does wei wuxian bring up how you gently hold jiang cheng's clarity bell in your hands.
the only thing that is said in that warm, silence is wei wuxian addressing you as if you are the spouse of jiang cheng, and welcoming you to the family.
to which you quickly smack him gently against the head, face burning while wei wuxian laughs. you now understand why lan wanji responds to him with only one-word responses.

jiang cheng most likely has a thing for hair pulling. buries his fingers in your hair and tugs your head back, telling you that he wants to hear all of your moans for him. sometimes his grip tightens just so that he can hear you whimper.
