Forever laughing at people who think Gabimaru would be the harem king of the story. Meanwhile the fact we have the real harem king, Lord Jikka who ready to packs all the characters, both female and male, including you anime watchers, to his place.
I think it's bcos people got used to the old ways where the MC always has a harem for some reason? plus many series before have the isekai with harem or anything with harem basically so they thought Gabimaru will also have the same trope even tho Kaku-sensei has never drawn Gabimaru romantically with other girls other than Yui
plus like what I have said, many people romanticize things (which I understand bcos I also have crack ships that I pair a lot lol) but yeah as long as you accept canon facts and don't blatantly assume things just bcos your fave pair is sitting next to each other or what, then it's fine
fun fact: I know Jikka has a harem but did you know that another guy who has a harem that he is so oblivious about is Shion?
according to Jigokuraku light novel (my friend recently told me abt this), Shion has absolutely no idea that he has tons of girls having a crush on him so yeah imagine him walking the streets of Edo being so harmless and handsome like that.
another fun fact: while I do have an immense crush on Tenza and Shion, I just found out from Jigokuraku Kaitai Shinsho Q&A that the most popular guy out of all the ranked Asaemons is Shugen 👀
I KNOW WHY SHUGEN IS THE MOST POPULAR OUT OF ALL OF THEM BUT I WILL NEVER ACCEPT THAT FACT

Z-Z-Z-Zaku Bracket!!
It's like Power Rankings, but as a bracket!
So once upon a time, I had this silly idea that I'd whack together a janky bracket picker, fill it with shows, and use the wisdom of the crowds to determine the show of the year. Like fifteen people submitted brackets, so that fell over and sank into the swamp. I kept updating the thing every year even though I stopped running it as a contest, so it sank deeper, unloved and unmentioned, into the swamp. Then Tumblr set fire to Javascript in custom pages, and the charred remains sank into the swamp...
But the fourth one stayed up!
For funsies, you can fill out a bracket that's got all the shows I liveblogged that ended last year, plus popular stuff according to MyAnimeList to round out a field of 64. You can share bracket codes to view other people's picks, and if for some reason you still have codes from previous year's brackets, they should still work at the new link.
A quick look at the field:
Shibuya Region: What's left of the neighborhood hosts Block A, headlined by No. 1 overall seed Jujutsu Kaisen S2. Can Uncle From Another World, NieR 1.1a, or any other contenders stop Itadori Yuuji from steamrolling his way into the Final Four?
Odaiba Region: Oshi no Ko leads the pack but could face stiff competition from Blue Lock, Jigokuraku, and Bungo Stray Dogs. Witch from Mercury S2 is a threat to make a run from a No. 8 seed because I love my girls.
Jutland Region: Vinland Saga is the top seed in a region that also features Spy x Family S2, Trigun: Stampede, and everyone's favorite deranged golfing sisters. How many upsets can No. 10 seed My New Boss is Goofy pull off?
Swordsmith Village Region: The action unfolds in strict secrecy as Kimetsu no Yaiba attempts to fend off challenges from the likes of Zom 100 and Buddy Daddies. Can Mash Burnedead punch his way out of a No. 6 seed and into the later rounds?
Twelve anime I didn't watch were added to to reach 64. The last four in: The Dangers in My Heart, Skip and Loafer, To Your Eternity S2, and Tomo-chan is a Girl! The first four out: Is it Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon IV, Insomniacs After School, My Happy Marriage, and The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten.
Off you go, and happy bracketing!

Hells Paradise Characters : 35+ Characters Ranked And Skills Explained
Tumblr media
This is gonna be my first answer in quite some time, so I’ll list the top 30 strongest instead of the regular old ten. I will also be refraining from adding manga panels, lest the answer becomes far too long. Just brief descriptions would do. Please note that Banko-powered Zhu Jin will be excluded since it can’t be scaled one way or another. Below Is All informations About Hell's Paradise Characters Hells Paradise Characters Who is The Main Characters Of Hell's Paradise ? The Main Character Of Hell's Paradise is Gabimaru Gabimaru is a ninja on death row with one chance to see his wife again — by finding the elixir of immortality on a supernatural island and delivering it to the shogun. Standing in his way are his fellow convicts and the fearsome beasts that roam the island, devouring or killing anyone they encounter. List Of Hell’s Paradise Top 30+ characters ranked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeVdqT3kEK4 Top 35 Strongest Hell's Paradise Characters |1| Rien Rien is practically the strongest character in the series. She held her own against all of the remaining humans and nearly killed them at that. The only reason she lost was that the gang exploited her weakness (Jofuku) and caught her off-guard. It was trickery that brought Rien her demise. Though she did reappear and nearly devastate everyone. |2| Gabimaru Gabi is by far the strongest human in Jigokuraku. Not only did he showcase a far better performance against Rien, but the Shinobi also outclassed nearly every other human if only by a slight margin. His impressive battle instincts, vast ninjutsu, insane physical capabilities, and amazing control over his Tao make him quite the ferocious enemy. |3/4| Shugen Shugen wields the uncanny ability to alter the attributes of his Tao, allowing him to damage nearly any adversary. This coupled with his immense knowledge and sword skills make him a deadly opponent enough to contend for the 3/4th spot. |3/4| Jikka While he may slack off quite often his strange ability allow him to contend with Shugen. Jikka’s unnatural technique allows him to not only figure out the safest and best attacking point but allow him to destroy a Lord Tensen level opponent fairly easily. This art or whatsoever is what I believe can be used to pit him at Shugen’s level. |5| Chobe The king of the bandits who achieved the body and abilities of a Lord Tensen, Chobe is arguably the 5th strongest character in Jigokuraku. His tenacity, adaptability, raw strength, and regenerative abilities come together and make him a force to mess with. His monster form allowed him to tackle many heavy hitters including Ju Fa and Gabimaru. In my humble opinion, no one deserves this position but him. |6| Shija The sadistic/masochist Shinobi who lusts after Gabimaru, Shija has what it takes to compete for number 6 on this list. She possesses a greater array of ninjutsu than Gabimaru and matches it up with her strategic mind, to fight even Base Rien. Her black Ascetic Blaze is quite a nifty technique. |7| Ju Fa-Tao Fa (Kishikai) While this form does come off as a Kishikai, I’ll be considering it a different being altogether since this is a fusion of two characters. This being can assume two separate forms, one suited for defense and the other for offense. I would’ve placed it higher than Shija but it's lackluster in terms of feats. It did get taken down by a team of the Aza brothers and Fuchi along with Gentetsuya. |8| Zhu Jin Now, this might come off as controversial but I have my reasons. While this Lord Tensen might crave attention from his kin, he still did fight equally with Shion (for a while). Zhu Jin also was the first person to ever demonstrate a partial Kishikai form. This form might be featless but judging from Shion’s reaction followed by Zhu jin’s escape does suggest the dude’s power. |9/10| Gantetsuya The infamous Blade-Dragon packs quite the punch. Gantetsuya demonstrated amazing finesse and skill with the blade but showcased destructive power with it as well. Enough to almost bring down Rien’s ship. While he originally did neglect the usage of Tao after accepting it he reached new heights. Putting him at this rank. |9/10| Shion Shion has quite some feats to back him up. Not only did he fight on par with Zhu Jin for some time, but he also managed to even gain the upper hand. Later against the Banko, he took down multiple Tensen clones, all while protecting Nurugai. |11| Ju Fa Ju Fa is one of the strongest Lord Tensen without Kishikai. He manhandled both of the Aza brothers and later on kept up with the two of them even if by a slight margin. His Fire Tao also blesses him with extremely destructive power. Plus he’s narratively/contextually asserted to be stronger than the rest of the Lord Tensen (Zhu Jin’s Partial Transformation is another case). |12/13| Ran In terms of martial arts, Ran is the top of the cream amongst the Tensen. He fended off both Gabimaru and Yuzuriha who were both slightly out-matched at the moment. Ran has also demonstrated mild control over his Kishikai. Though he did wind up losing to the combined strategy of the two shinobi. |12/13| Tao Fa I would never have placed her in this spot lest it wasn’t for her connection with Ju Fa. The two are stated to be the one and the same, beings cut from the same cloth. This can be used to pit her relative to him, but it is generally disagreed with. Though she did put up an impressive performance against Gentetsuya and Fuchi before getting pummeled by them. |14| Yuzuriha She’s a tough piece of work. She fought relatively to Gabimaru albeit slightly against Ran and later was the only one who stood up to Isuzu. Normally I’d place Sagiri higher than her but Yuzuriha’s vaster arsenal and tricky personality win her this rank. Her healing techniques are also quite the troublesome factor. |15| Sagiri Now this here will bring me quite the hate. But I have my reasons. First of all, in most of her fights, Sagiri has been carried on by someone. Secondly, she doesn’t have much of a strong standing. Against Rien, she was only the linchpin of the plan as she was the only one who could harm the Lord Tensen. Moreover, Gabimaru’s statement about her being stronger refers more to the emotional and mental state rather than physically. |16/17| Kyomaru Kyo is a lackluster character in terms of feats. He’s relative to Isuzu and is good with the blade. Nothing else to be honest. But he did prove to be slightly stronger than characters like Fuchi and the like. |16/17| Isuzu Same reasoning as Kiyomaru. |18| Toma He doesn’t have much to say for himself. He is practically the same case as Sagiri. Apart from that Toma is quite the prodigy and seems to possess an unrivaled talent with the blade. |19| Mu Dan Mu Dan is the weakest of all the Lord Tensen who have participated in a fight. He lacks complete control over his Kishikai form and is extremely cocky. But his large quantity of Tao and regenerative powers are what placed him at this spot. |20| Fuchi Fuchi is calm-headed and strategic. He was carried by others in nearly all of his fights. The only reason he made it this far is due to his skills and Tao control. Fundamentally that’s what puts him this high. |21| Nurugai The same case as Fuchi. Though her restorative powers are noteworthy. |22| Mei Mei has little to go about. She stopped Mu Dan in his Kishikai, opened a crater in the ground, and cleared a couple of boats. Nothing else. The reason she’s below Mu Dan is that she’s not built for fighting and lacks the firepower. And her pacifist-type personality doesn’t help one bit. |23| Gui Fa Gui Fa has no fighting feats. Nothing. It's just that she’s strong and has the regular abilities of a Lord Tensen. That is why Gui Fa is on this rank. |24/25| Centipede Doshi He overpowered both Gabimaru and Gentetsuya temporarily but eventually was utterly stomped by a Gabimaru who just began to manipulate Tao. His regenerative power is an added plus. |24/25| Butterfly Doshi Contextually speaking this thing is weaker than the above-mentioned thing. The only reason I say he’s interchangeable with the C-D is due to his control over grotesque butterflies which serve as a ranged attack. |26| Rokurota This giant is the physically strongest convict without the usage of Tao. Rokurota casually ripped apart trees, and physically overwhelmed Gabimaru. |27| Osa This shitty human has nothing to go by. All we know is that he’s skilled in genjutsu and should be strong as the head of Iwagakure. |28| Kichiji The original head of the Yamada Asaemon he should be strong. There is literally nothing else to go by. |29| Kumokiri There exists only a statement regarding him. One that claims he should be relative to Gabimaru. Again not much to go by. |30| Eizen He was the number one ranked Asaemon, but he died at the hands of a criminal. Nothing else. Read the full article

Spring 2023 Anime Wrapup
Original Post:
This sure was a season. I finished 14 full-length series, plus some OVAs and carryovers. Undisputed show of the season Oshi no Ko and underrated hit Dead Mount Death Play lead the pack, but there's a range of other content between hate-watchable and actually good as well.
New Stuff:
Oshi no Ko (My Star) - Holy shit. I don't want to say much to avoid spoilers, but it was a 10/10 candidate from episode one and still might end up there on rewatch. For now 9/10, you MUST watch this. There will be a post forthcoming when I process it for a while.
Isekai de Cheat Skill wo Te ni Shita Ore wa, Genjitsu Sekai wo mo Musou Suru: Level Up wa Jinsei wo Kaeta (I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too) - They put the entire power fantasy in the title for your convenience. It's not a great message that all you need to do to become popular is inherit a bunch of money and literally magically change your entire body, but here we are. The power fantasy is truly stratospheric - for example, he accidentally seduces a model and is proposed to by a princess in the space of one episode. The "animation" (or lack thereof) doesn't give the at best mediocre plot the support it needs, alas. A very generous 6/10.
Jigokuraku (Hell's Paradise) - Samurai Suicide Squad with a hearty helping of EDGE and a surprising amount of heart. The action was good, even though it sometimes felt like they ran out of time to make things truly excellent. 8/10.
Kanojo ga Koushaku-tei ni Itta Riyuu (The Reason Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke's Mansion) - Another villainess anime, this time with the twist being that she becomes a villainess on purpose in order to save her own life. Most of the time the plot foreknowledge twist was used to undermine typical shoujo tropes rather than heighten them. Between that and the nothing ending, I found it oddly muted. 7/10.
Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia (Insomniacs After School) - I didn't finish this yet, because I don't think I'm ready for the emotional punches it's setting up. Not dropped, just not done.
Skip to Loafer (Skip and Loafer) - A country-girl-in-the-big-city shoujo story, in which our protagonist good-natures her way through a whole stable of stock high school antagonists. I like that given only twelve episodes to work with they didn't speedrun to parts where relationships happen, and instead let the story take its time. This is the first time since Hyouka I've really liked something with this sort of sedate pace. Looking forward to more! 8/10.
Tengoku Daimakyou (Heavenly Delusion) - A trip through the post-apocalypse featuring spooky monsters, bioethics failures, and a mix of hope and despair at how people face life after the end. Worth a watch, but be aware there's some extreme content. 8/10
Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru (Loving Yamada at Lv999) - Shoujo for gamers! Unlike Raeliana above this shoujo with a twist did it for me. For personal reasons I appreciated the respect paid to online relationships. Convincing characters and relationships plus distinct and consistent art make this a very honorable 8/10.
Otonari ni Ginga (A Galaxy Next Door) - A guy touches an alien princess funny and they're married now. Yes, another one. This time, she's his manga assistant. Very light and fluffy, despite the subtheme of family alienation. 7/10, though at the high end for myself.
Dead Mount Death Play - Reverse Isekai! With a name like that you'd expect some serious edge, and there is some. Surprisingly though the themes are very wholesome. This was the biggest surprise of the season. I didn't watch it in the first round of shows, but when I looked at it out of curiosity it blew me away. 9/10, you should really watch this.
Tonikaku Kawaii - This is a sequel, but I hadn't watched the previous season, so it's new to me. I added it later in the season mostly out of curiosity. It turned out to be another entry in the impossibly perfect significant other microgenre, like The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten. As with Angel Next Door, the point is that you should be an actual good person. This time it's about the rewards of getting married as soon as possible, and here are step-by-step instructions. There's a subtle-but-not-subtle supernatural undercurrent that becomes increasingly obvious in season 2, as well. 7/10.
Sequels:
Birdie Wing: Golf Girls' Story Season 2 - What can you say about a show that introduces multiple dangerous forbidden techniques in the middle of a tournament arc... of golf? Anyway here's lesbians doing more wacky special moves. If you're into weird sports anime you're sure to be into this. 8/10.
Dr. Stone: New World - There was a lot more yadda yadda this time, so it fell a bit flat. The less they show Senku's work coming up with things the more they feel like instant win buttons instead of things they worked for. I had hoped the cast size constraint in the second half of the season would have let them go back to spending time on inventions, but alas no. 7/10.
Kimetsu no Yaiba: Katanakaji no Sato-hen (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc) - Yep, it was more Demon Slayer. I'm pleased that Demon Slayer has mostly maintained its quality, in contrast with My Hero Academia which fell off a bit in the middle there. 8/10.
Kidou Senshi Gundam: Suisei no Majo Season 2 (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury Season 2) - The robots (and lesbians) are cool, but I don't see how it's possible to miss the "war (and unfettered capitalism) is bad" message. It's also a new take on Revolutionary Girl Utena, which I've been meaning to re-watch and write about for some time. No excuse now, I suppose. 8/10.
Uma Musume: Pretty Derby - Road to the Top - I forgot to put this on the first list because it's a four episode ONA that hadn't started airing yet. As one of the weird sports anime I actually enjoy, of course I was up for even just a small arc of it. 8/10.
Carryovers:
Kubo-san wa Mob wo Yurusanai (Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible) - Finally a bulli anime I can enjoy, thanks to it not actually being bulli for very long. In the end this was a sort of nothing-in-particular show, falling somewhere in the fuzzy area around impossibly perfect SO and teasing anime. As expected it's almost all frosting and no cake, but I did enjoy my time with it. 7/10.
Itai no wa Iya nano de Bougyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu. 2 (BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense. Season 2) - This fell off a bit, and I think I know why. It suffered from the same thing as later Dog Days seasons, where it used its expansive cast by shuffling who hangs out with who. This provides less novelty than the original concept of "what will they get up to now" did, and it also necessarily slows things to a crawl as we need to see more perspectives on every event as a result. Still, the characters remain fun and the game is as busted as ever. 7/10.
Dropped:
Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudou - Garbage. A fetish fest with godawful CGI. Rancid vibes. You'll never know where it's going. You may have trouble looking away. I did eventually, though. Dropped at episode 10. 6/10.
Isekai One Turn Kill Neesan: Ane Douhan no Isekai Seikatsu Hajimemashita (My One-Hit Kill Sister) - Lots of Rule D edging. The quality isn't the most consistent, the tropes are basic, and little of value is to be found here. When it's good, it's actually kinda good. Unfortunately it got boring. Dropped at episode 10. 6/10.
Edomae Elf (Otaku Elf) - Elf in real world! Wooo! A nice comfy show. Not much happens, but it's cute enough. Got boring in the end though. Dropped at episode 10. 7/10.
My Home Hero - It's hard to think of anything recently that used tension and suspense to this degree. That said, the every-episode cliffhangers eventually got exhausting and turned me off and I stopped keeping up. 7/10 not for me.
