This is giving fancafe vibes all over again. JK really loves getting to talk and Chat with ARMYs and it's so precious. He shared his In The Seom username and created a club you could join after he approved you. Only 30 people allowed

Which is amazing and he shared in the chat with the armys in there a couple times too!

But I think it's HIGHLY entertaining that he has to approve people to get into his club. So some of these usernames. He saw it and he said "yes right away, welcome to the club" 🤣 some of those include "JungkooksFutureWife" "JiminsFinger" and "HoseoksWife" lmao and my personal favorite, he approved a k-jkkr with the username "KookminAreDating"

Kookminaredating user has since changed their name so it's no longer the same, but the fact that Jungkook APPROVED that user, with that as their name as the time?! OKAY sir. It reminds me of the time he joined a k army jikook fancafe group chat and hanging out there for a bit chatting with them. Lmfao I'd love to know his thought process when he saw the usernames!

Regardless, I hope the 29 people who got into his club have a good time, always tell him how special he is, and I hope they all feel super special and lucky!

The Increase of Secret Jikooker's?

Rose is a Karmy from 2019 who gave brilliant insights into Jikook from kside’s point of view. During one of her Periscope Lives, she admitted that there are more Jikooker’s out there than we know of. However, they are scared of blacklash to embrace our part of the fandom. Especially with their main accounts publically. Therefore, they talk more privately. Ever since, I was intrigued by the idea of there being more Jikooker’s out there than we know of and it’s something that I’ve seen more over the years.

A good friend of mine used to run a Hobi account. Though they went on “rest” during the pandemic and we haven't spoken since. You wouldn’t know it by their posts, but they were actually a Jikooker behind the scenes. I understood and respected their decision to keep things strictly related to their account on Timeline though, so we just gushed about Jikook in the DM’s instead. One day, they accidentally retweeted one of my threads on their main account. They were really worried about the reaction they would get, but overall the response was positive. It was a surprise and it actually encouraged them to post a bit more about Jikook every now and then.

Whilst taking screenshots for the Live Reactions series, I will often see conversations between Army who strictly keep their accounts a certain way. Not an ounce of Jikookery, but they clearly know their stuff and are passionate about them. There’s been times I’ve wanted to quote them hyping up certain moments, because it's just so sweet to witness these conversations between them. However, I’m aware that they would want to keep their conversations to themselves. They wouldn't want them to be broadcasted. It’s also why I don’t include any usernames in the screenshots taken, just to keep them safe. Something else to note is that the majority of screenshots taken for the Live Reactions series, aren't from Jikook signposted accounts themselves.

I always encourage talking about Jikook, either publicly or privately. This is because I wish for them to be remembered well, as it's what they deserve. I understand that some are turned off by all the “shipping fights.'' But, if given the chance, they do enjoy these type of conversations. It also helps to show Jikook’s bond beyond our own audience. There are plenty out there that recognize how close they are, they just might have a smaller following that gets drowned out by all the hate. You can also tell when those with a bigger following are somewhat secret Jikooker’s.

At the end of the day, there are those out there that see something close between Jikook. Either romantically or platonically. Not everyone knows a person's thoughts behind the screen and not everyone feels confident enough to post things online publically about them. Personally I will continue to keep posting about them, so that anyone can see their moments together. This might spark an interest of Jikook in someone. You never know who could be reading your words about Jikook and learning more about their bond by doing so.

Here is one thing and that is fact: If tkkrs, Jinkookers and any other shippers stopped using fanservice to explain away Jikookery, their ships would cease to exist. Period.

That is the core of the issue. That narrative is what they lean on, cling to, pray to and believe in with everything they own. Because if they stopped, their ships would scatter like the Arizona dust on a very windy day.

Jikook is fanservice is what keeps them afloat. That, is the fact of the matter. By saying this, it makes them feel better 🤪 and makes them feel validated, for the blatant disrespect to these two members.

They also like to equate what Jikook do to normal skinship. If what Jikook do is "normal" then why did these 2 Koreans react like this to Jimin kissing JK's neck?

My Army Journey

I first heard of K-pop back in 2010 when a friend of mine mentioned being a fan of a group called Shinee, a Korean boyband. We weren't that close, so it's not like she tried to show me anything of theirs. At this time, I was also trying to be less judgy about other people's musical tastes, so even though I found (western) boybands to be cringy, I was pretty indifferent to K-pop out of sheer will.

I didn't really hear about K-pop again until about 2016-2017 as someone in uni. Being chronically online, even then you were bound to come across it on Twitter. I'd see male idols everywhere and they all blended together in my brain, EXCEPT for this one guy named Jimin. I'd recognize him as that pretty one. Didn't even know what group he was from, didn't care.

At this time, my dad also got remarried and suddenly I had a younger step-sister who was into K-Pop. I became curious because this was getting a lot more popular than I remembered it being. My stepsister's favorite group was Seventeen, (cue my teasing: "If they're seventeen, why are there thirteen of them?" "Do they each sing like half a line?" "Which one's Jimin?"). When I brought up Jimin, she did finally confirm he's in BTS. She said BTS and EXO are the biggest, but BTS is overtaking. I asked if BTS are the best, and she no, but they're good. I asked her to show me the gayest music video of theirs (I don't even know why) and she showed me Blood, Sweat & Tears (The Queen herself). The video was cool, Jimin was fkn pretty, but I still didn't delve deeper.

It wasn't until mid-2018 that the rabbit hole shit happened (you know the one. You're all here for the same reason). It was completely on a whim. I saw this photo on Twitter:

I recognized Jimin immediately of course. But this photo got me curious because they all had an interesting look to them and I thought it wasn't fair that I'd ever thought "they all look the same" because they didn't and I felt like I owed it to them to at least do them the respect of learning their damn names (famous goddamn last words, anyone?). Jimin, Joon, Hobi, Yoongi, and Tae (eyebrows man, as I called him) were the easiest to learn in that order. I had a little more trouble telling Jungkook and Jin apart at times. I think I had it down by the time the weekend was over though.

One of the first things I watched was their puppy interview. Crack cocaine. Watched a couple more interviews and then moved onto the beginner guides to BTS, funny and serious. Then, the funny compilation videos set to Nintendo Wii theme music. I didn't even get into the music until way later. The very first BTS song I listened to on my own was Lie. What an introduction lmao. The second was Save Me, and that was the song that made me go, "Yeah okay, they're the real deal" (I also tried listening to EXO and some other groups, but... yeah no). After that, it was just further and further down the rabbit hole.

What was important to me was the quality of lyrical content and the ability to sing live. I couldn't have become a fan if they didn't have those two things down. Little did I know, even that is an underestimation of their abilities and their journey. They constantly blew my mind as I learned about all they do. They're capable of extraordinary things.

Being involved as a fan in a powerful fandom of such a massive group has had its ups and downs, but now I just want them all to come back. I miss them together so much. The fandom's in fragments and sanity is cracking without BTS as a unit.

--Jimin coming to visit JK in the dead of night for his birthday, bringing his own cake, snapping that intimate photo, posting on WeVerse two days in a row despite the fact he was also working in the studio that whole time

--Jimin's dad posting a photo of JK's old beloved dog on his birthday

--what sounds like Jimin's giggles in the background on JK's birthday live with Jin

--what sounds like JK whispering "JIMIN!" twice during Jimin's birthday live

--JK's birthday thirst trap for Jimin--which he posted on WeVerse specifically for Jimin, having not been on that platform himself in years

--The Busan live where JK looks on adoringly while Jimin slurps noodles

--JK offering up the story of his mom making seaweed soup just for Jimin which is culturally SIGNIFICANT

--Jimin razzing the shit out of JK for "Jungkook Marry Me"

--Jimin inviting JK to feast after the Busan live

--JK saying twice that he'll join Jimin on a live soon if he has time

--JK posting their special numbers on his selfie in Qatar

--Jimin posting about how cool JK's World Cup performance was.

Now look, they've both been busy with work and travel. What raises doubts about if Jikook are still close is the fact that JK goes out (seemingly mostly alone) to so many meat restaurants. I saw one video of him joining another person outside, but it was too shaky to make out much of anything. The coat and jeans looked similar to what Jimin wore to the airport for NYC, but I can't say that with any certainty so please take that with a grain of salt.

After 10 years of having every second of his life scheduled and strict diets, GOOD FOR JK. A restaurant tour of Korea while Jimin is holed up in the studio is a lovely idea, especially since it seems he's not super into cooking for himself.

Here's where fandom gets sticky.

JK also went bowling with Tae and friends, and did a TikTok dance challenge with Taehyung, who mentioned JK frequently before Taehyung went to Paris. Seems like there were plans for them to do a gaming live similar to Jin's but time didn't allow for it.

There's also unsubstantiated rumors of them going skiing this week with other people. You know, friendship things. Positive, healthy, harmless things you do with friends when you are young. It definitely suggests closeness, but not necessarily sexy times? People made a lot of assumptions that JK came right from the airport and spent the night in a luxury villa with Taehyung, but, actually, Taehyung is friends with the owners, and JK's pants are different than what he wore at the airport, and it could have been filmed at dusk, not dawn. Maybe they just, ya know, wanted to do a cool TikTok vid since their versions weren't included on the official choreo version Hobi posted.

What worries some folks is that there's no evidence of Jikook even doing friendship things since Vegas. Which, again, PJM1 is consuming Jimin's time... Plus also remember that whole traumatizing few months of mail tampering, doxxing, scandal in the press overshadowing Jimin's unpromoted OST, governmental manipulation over the Expo, stocks tanking, and military enlistment, plus rampant hate online and sometimes even death threats?

Those are all really good reasons to not share one's personal life or hint at a closeted homosexual relationship. Even under the cover of friendship and group outings, Jimin just may be sick of the scrutiny. He's not been going out with ANYONE.

And yes, it's fair to say that Jikook normally are always together and never really hid that before. I mean, there is an ENTIRE POP UP MUSEUM DEDICATED TO ALL THEIR INTERACTIONS. No other members have anything like it.

But 2022 is unlike any other year they've had before either.

Also something to think about: Jimin once recently mentioned that he and Taehyung Facetime each other practically every day. (It was during the live when he shared that Taehyung was the one who inspired Jimin's moon tattoos based on fan art he showed Jimin.) Think about that Vmin hug on the Busan stage--it was a chef's kiss. Just this week, Jimin insisted on a selca with Tae and Jin on his own phone.

We can assume their friendship is rock solid, but we rarely see much evidence of them interacting in their off time. In fact I cannot think of the last time Jimin and Taehyung hung out in person when not for a work thing. I can't imagine they are faking affection or bed hoping with JK. I don't require proof of them doing things together to think their friendship is real.

Maybe we could do the same for Jikook? Even if they don't post a selca this year? Yeah, it's a bummer, but it's not divorce papers, y'all.

Can I say for sure Jikook dated / are still dating? NO. I can't say that about any point in their relationship, actually. But I keep reminding myself to be patient, wait things out, because more always comes out.

There's all these little things, like JK knowing that Jimin won't be drinking champagne, but having no idea that Taehyung had given up alcohol for two months.

Clues always come out eventually.

I'll be so curious to see what happens after PJM1 drops. Will Jimin do very little promo, like with his OST? Will there be multiple videos, with choreo? Will his members be silent about this work too? Will he have more free time and thus poke his head up more? Or will he continue to be a lil ninja? I dunno. I'll be supporting him no matter what.

And even if his members don't publicly hype him up, I won't just assume that means they are jealous or don't care about him. Like Jin said: "Post, it's good. No post, it's still good." Will I be a bit unnerved? Honestly, yeah. But Jimin knows Jimin's situation best.

The honest truth is this: none of us KNOW what's going on with any of the members' relationships except the members. And that's how it should be because that's their business. They only owe us good music and dance performances. The rest is icing on the cake.

It's totally okay if you believe this is just one of those dry spells Jikook has over the years. It's valid if you think they broke up and are just being good friends and coworkers at a distance. If your gut is telling you Taekook is now real, I can't say I agree with you, but I'll never come into your spaces and argue with you.

It's up to you to seek out reliable sources of info and then make your own judgement call, if you feel if you have enough data. This isn't a cult. You are not required to "keep the faith" about anything.

Two months ago, Jikook were Jikooking like always. Now Jimin is quiet (except to tell us to keep warm and not get sick, bless his heart). And Jungkook and Taehyung are showing us they hang out (as they have done in the past--restaurants, gaming, trips with Wooga--though perhaps now they are doing it a bit more than when they all had an OT7 schedule).

And so the silence from Jikook and the hanging out from Taekook has the cult all whipped up and Jikookers feeling unsettled. I get it. It's normal to feel your feels. But also be sure to math your math.

Me? I honestly have no clue what's going on. I still feel like we're seeing so little of the full picture, it would be wise to withhold judgement quite yet. I tell myself: Be patient. Trust the members. There are things they can't tell us, but if we trust their words, that would be good.

In the meantime, please stream and vote and buy albums. That's our main job as Army, regardless of ship or bias. Soon all our boys will be serving, and the drought will be very very real. So let's try to celebrate, smile, and laugh about what we still can, okay? I think they'd want us to focus on that.

They can identify as allies because of their privilege and power, and that's something, but it's not ideal. Not yet. And some of us are in the same place. We don't all live in accepting places. Many of us don't even live in tolerant places. Some of y'all live in places where being out is illegal. And make no mistake it's not getting easier in today's world. So if you're only able to be you online, or not at all, or you hide yourself or your loved ones or friends or family members who are living in a closeted circumstance, I hope you will be SAFE first. Don't feel like you have to be loud to be you. Safety and security, needs met like Maslow, and know that I AM PROUD OF YOU. I LOVE YOU. I SUPPORT YOU. And BTS supports you, too. So my non Army friend watched the online concert with me over the weekend. She knows Butter, Dynamite and that Tae is hot...but that's about it.

Anyway, she saw the moment...you know the one. Now she had no idea what a finger heart was, but she did understand the look on Jimin's face and she said "WOW". Then of course she asked me if they were involved because (to her) that look was more than friendly. 👀

She also repeatedly said she wanted JHope to burn his pink hat, but that's not really relevant here. 🤣

There were so much jikookery in Vegas but to me that look on the last night was the ultimate one. It almost reminded me of Rose Bowl...like that level of exposure. Jimin's face just 'said' so much.

Just because JM and JK didn’t post each other or haven’t yet interacted on SM doesn’t mean they haven’t seen each other or that those far fetched “conclusions” they made up are true. Like i’m sorry but did JM or JK tell you themselves that ? Those “insecure jikookers” or antis (idk which ones send you those stupid things at this point) seriously need to sit down for a sec and think things through. I wouldn't call people dumb. I do think that people don't use enough critical thinking. They read a post, one with zero receipts and take it as factual. It's enough these days for someone to say something online, no links, no pics, not a shred of actual proof, and readers take it as fact and pass it on. And so forth.

Side note: It's funny how so many JKK's aren't like that. We base our conclusions on actual content, clips, interviews, proven sightings etc. When we claim something, it's factually backed up, otherwise we say it's a theory, we add the "maybe" or "perhaps" or "we think but we don't really know". I wish others would do the same.

And the biggest problem is that these un-factual facts are perpetuated, spread, and they come here with assumptions and conclusions based on zero acts to prove a point. All I can do is try and help them understand the difference between fact and theory.

Hi Yumenochou I love your blog. I read Jikook blogs and rarely engage but I have to say this. I am scared. Jikook's conscious, intentional (imo) 'couple'y staging/performances lately, as well as their continued demonstrative closeness seems to be triggering a lot of people. Is this their fans reaction to the strengthening possibility of their being couple? Is this how fans react when Jikook show us beautiful things? The anon hate. The abuse. The homophobia. It scares me. I hope they never see.

Hmm, I can see several things that might need a reply in your ask, so here goes a long post. This is all only my opinion, of course.

First - will the hate that has risen after they started to show more couple-y content affect Jikook relationship? The anselwer is - most probably no. Things were actually much worse in the past. After SY Final concert, when JK became overwhelmed and cried a lot, and JM was hugging and consoling him, some antis (I can't call them armys) sent emails to BH, asking to stop "gay fanservice". They tried to trend a hashtag too, and did got knows what for it to be noticed. And now we know for sure how Jikook and BH react to situations like these, and the answer is - they basically ignore it. JK and JM didn't stop interacting, and we've got a lot of moments in official content. Basically some drama happens after almost every big Jikook moment, but it didn't stop Jikook from jikooking, and BH from showing the jikookery to us. So I really doubt that anything that people write on sns about Jikook, not even directly to them, will somehow affect their relationship and what BH is showing to us.

Second - will this hate affect boys? Probably yes, if they see it, bc it's always unpleasant to see things like these. But maybe not to the great extent. The thing is - if you see a lot of hate every day, you kinda get used to it, and it affects you less than when you see it for the first time (I'm talking from my experience of 4 years on twitter, the amount of hate I see for our boys and our fandom there is crazy). BTS, as a group from a small company, which became the biggest group in the world, always got a lot of hate bc of people's envy. And they definitely saw it, boys themselves mentioned things they read online on several occasions. So they are not new to hate, and hate from shippers is only a tiny part of it. We don't even know if they see it, bc they usually are on Korean side of sns, and most shipping wars are happening on international side (at least from what I see on twitter). Like, I'm pretty sure they don't go on tumblr at all, so all the squabbles that happen here don't reach them. So in general I don't think that shipper wars would be something ground breaking to them. But I'm glad that they have mental care and people to talk to, bc even though you become numb to hate with time, it still affects you mentally.

Third - fans' reaction. The thing is - biggest part of our fandom doesn't care for Jikook moments happening more often. They either ignore them completely, or don't even consider the possibility of them being something more than friends (sounds sad, but it might be for the best). All the hate that we see mostly comes from shippers of other ship(s) or from akgaes, who only like some members and hate on others (I'm talking only about things that we see on Jikook blogs, that are related to increase in moments). Army fandom has several millions of people in it, so even if some tiny part starts drama, it looks as an apocalypsis. Especially on tumblr, with a pretty tight tied circles. So actually what's happening now isn't that big on fandom scale, even though it looks scary.

So, main point is - things that are happening now isn't something out of ordinary (unfortunately), and it most probably won't affect Jimin and JK's relationship. Of course, as I mentioned before, everything that is written here is only my opinion, which is based only on my experience, and it might differ from other people's opinions. I had a question about jk accepting someone with the 'kookminaredating' username. Some people are saying this person changed their username after jk accepted them, is there proof of this? I usually believe people when they debunk things. But this time I didn't see any proof. And knowing how some armys always brush away jikook moments. Iam a little bit sceptical.

If it's true that the op changed there username, I will accept it. I mean there are other cute jikook moment to geek about.

Hi, when OP was accepted into the club (by Jungkook) their username was "KookminAreDating." They changed it later on after they were already in the club. Which I mentioned on my original post.

I am pretty sure you have spoken about the account before. But I am not able to find it. And have you seen the most recent discussion on TW about the account and their interaction with Who. It's always them. That's a lot of coincidences. 🙈 But just wanted your opinion.

This post and that account/instance is the ONLY time I give this username any validity. Lol they were first, JK gave it recognition and clout. The name was in Hangul. He knew what he was doing, what it said and what it meant. And since he did that, take a guess how many accounts cropped up with the same username? With variations in capital letters, spacing, numbers added etc. Lmfao that username is EVERYWHERE. I know a ton just on Twitter alone. And on Instagram, it's even worse. The account name is on everything. And people are using it to interact with everyone and post things these other people have a vested interest in responding to themselves (self promotion) it doesn't ACTUALLY have anything to do with thinking kookmin are dating for these other Celebrities. Either their brand, their jewelry or work, their songs.... and honestly, it's mostly the same Instagram account putting in the WORK lmfao getting noticed by doing that promotion for these artists and continually tagging them WHILE having a large following too. Jikook self out everything they touch. Of course these other people will want to push forward that promotion of their own things. Again, either their brand, their channels, their products, their songs, whatever it is.

Do I think it's a coincidence? Not really no. Jungkook set this in motion honestly and I don't necessarily find it too surprising. I find it a bit funny and cute. If JK enjoyed the username enough to accept it into his club himself too, not my place to worry about others continuing the username tradition then either. Lol but other than that? The ONLY instance of this username popping up that i think holds any significance is the very first time, with Jungkook. Other than that, it's just funny and it's nice getting confirmation about jikooks constant matching when they get noticed. But I don't think anyone is paying attention to the username honestly. And if they are, probably not really thinking much about it at all either. I don't think it's something that registers on anyone's radar except jkkrs. Which is again, because JK made the username revelant lol

I think jimin is for sure gonna go to yoongi's concert though I wonder why he didn't go to Paris even after he was invited. I really wanna know why because there's no way it's for yoongi's concert right? It couldn't be that imp for jm especially when he already attended once.

What I was saying is that there's a chance that jk could be going too. And there's a chance that tae is going too.

Now I hope I'm not coming off as insecure but we all know that jkk are laying low and trying to be as subtle as possible. So I'm afraid that what if they continue to lay low in yg's concert too? I really would feel sad if they won't be sitting together. Because I think there's a high possibility that in order to not be too obvious they're gonna be sitting separately and if tae is going he's definitely gonna try to sit next to jk for whatever reason only he knows. I'm afraid we won't get any jkk moments because of them trying to be subtle and on top of that we will have to listen to the stupid breed talking shit about jkk's bond. Namjoon Keeping an eye on Jikook. I've said it before, but I'll say it again though. I need to do another post more about how namjoon supports them, indivually and together. Because the way jkkrs portray him as their police force and never talks about any other aspect of their trio dynamics or any other thing about it. Drives me insane. Because it's not as dramatic as jkkrs make it sound, nor is it nearly as often, nor is it even the most prominent way he interacts with the two of them. Same with Hobi too. His relationship with jikook is WAY more than just their biggest cheerleader. Conversations for another post though. Adding it to my list of posts to make for sure.

But that's on me as well for not talking about that more here. I will. I also don't have one specifically about Tae supporting Jikook yet either or solely his reactions, but I touch on it a little bit in my vminkook dynamics post. So I should do a post at some point too. And I dont think any of them ever really have reactions of disgust. But I'm pretty sure that this mostly covers what you were looking for. Expecting Jimin and JK to be glued at the hip at all time more than we do see from the glimpses we get (which says a lot) is laughable, not to mention really unhealthy, especially among their ot7 group routine who are all close as family. They have their parents, friends, their own work commitments and contract. It makes no sense for them not to want some time apart if they are togethet or even just Bff's. Especially when Jimin's solo turn is coming up and he might want to see how things are looking and how it's being done first hand. Some people here sounds like they have no real idea of how adult relationship looks like (and completly ignore the fact they aren't out or had the messy risky year they had) or pretending to be worried to stir drama tbh. Unless we start to sense some bad blood and resentment between them which I see none, there's no reason to start create fake bad scenarios or dramas for them like "how could he not attend his beau event!?!?" when they themselves don't seem to care and clearly keep enjoying being around each other for reasons of their own. Having their own thing while keep spending time together might be the thing that keeps them steady and giddy for a decade now and helps them control the crazy hate they recieve. Whatever they chose to do seems to be working great so people should really stop with the whole "they don't like eo anymore" loop, it's been years.

I agree completely with everything you've said, especially worrying about not seeing them Always Together now (which, admittedly, used to be a Thing specific to Jikookery). They are in the later half of their twenties and starting a whole new career chapter; it just makes sense they'd have individual stuff going on, and it's a good thing.

I can't speak for my Nonies, but I think where I was getting caught up this spring was... so, I'm like toddler Army right now, right? I started watching Jimin dance compilations in December and then DEVOURED Jikook clips all through the holidays and January. So I got the impression that Jikookery happened constantly, because I had 8+ years of content instantly at my fingertips.

Then there was the Great Jimin Drought of Early 2022. And I was convinced there had been a bad break up and he was off nursing his wounds alone or something (I didn't know anything about the insurance premiums/mail situation or that his info was leaked online--that didn't hit the news until late April). When Jimin did appear in a few things, like on the walnut Vlive or photoshoots, he seemed so quiet and his energy was muted, compared to what I'd perceived as his normal giggly self.

So then I started wondering what had changed. He'd been through serious illness, and JK and the others never really mentioned it (Tae did post a lovely photo online and answered some WeVerse questions, praise Jesus). So I looked back at content and I started to see that round about when COVID hit, Jimin would mostly be the one reaching out to JK and JK would accept him but often not initiate. The vibes felt off. I wondered if they'd had an amicable breakup at some point. (I'm sure Memories 2021 is about to blow that theory to smithereens and I am HERE FOR IT.)

Now, there were some cute moments in Seoul concert but also some major awkwardness too. I began to really worry that Jimin wasn't loved as much as he loved. Like, the behind the scenes Grammy video had some cute Vmin moments but barely any interaction between Jikook at all. Vibes were just different than what I'd expected. But then the Vegas concert was off the chain with Jikookery, my good lord. So I was like "naw, they are still stupid in love, it's fine."

But then they came home together and we had the Second Great Jimin Drought of Mid-2022. Right around the time the supposed scandal hit--his OST was coming out and within hours on the same day, news was blowing up about his "apartment seizure." Jimin was MIA for weeks. He never said a word about that issue or his OST. Neither did any of his members.

Plus his OST got no official playlist, a shortened first-day release, wasn't listed on the K-pop charts, wasn't played on the radio until fans requested it--hell, he didn't even have an official Spotify account for the first three days so folks had to HUNT for his song. He didn't mention his OST until the WeVerse article came out in summer and he did that radio spot just recently with Sungwoon. I realize With You is a YamYam production, not Hybe, but all of the members have hyped-up non-Hybe content before, especially on their own social media. So this complete radio silence had me super confused.

And then on Proof, he was the only member who didn't have his own demo track (Tony Montana is cool and all but it is not the same). So I had to suspect that the reason Jimin seemed so withdrawn this year is that someone at the company was doing him dirty and none of his members really had his back, at least not publicly. (I had no evidence of this, my mind just went there as a possible reason.)

What worried me most is that throughout early 2022--through the mail tampering, the info doxxing, the apartment seizure, COVID, appendicitis, and whatnot--I didn't see an ounce of support from Jungkook, his (supposed) lover. Jungkook would come on insta or Live and not even say Jimin's NAME for months. A true departure from the typical Jikookery I had just binge-watched. He was still super attentive and affectionate with all his other members but acted like he'd never met Jimin in his life. (And Jimin did the same--even when Joon mentioned Jungkook working out, Jimin went quiet and then changed the topic.) Had he not been seen with Jimin on White Day, I would have assumed JK had abandoned him during his troubles. (Again, no evidence, my mind just went there. I am human. Thoughts come without invitation, sometimes, and take up residence.)

Follow that up with so MUCH Jimin on his Insta (keep being jealous, we hugged, he is mine!) and hanging out every night after the concert, sitting off alone together at restaurants and working out together late at night, and I got whiplash. Does JK only acknowledge Jimin when abroad? When not in work mode? When high off a performance?

Thank GOD for blogs like Stormblessed and Kanmom51 and ParkParkJeon who meticulously archive things and give rational discussions and balanced perspectives. Even still, it took me quite a while to accept what older Army kept telling me: long stretches with a lack of interaction is normal for them, they are fine, don't expect them to be loud all the time when together, remember they are in the closet and under constantly scrutiny, etc. etc. etc.

I'm one of those people who loves data. You cannot give me enough data. I will take all the evidence in the world and recalibrate my opinions with each new sliver. But that really lends itself to a propensity to overthink and over analyze. As you said, it becomes a perpetual loop, and it isn't productive. So now I eagerly wait for new content, but, I try not to freak out if I'm not getting much of ANY content. That's not a sign that something is wrong, not with Jikook anyway.

I've decided in the end that what I need as a Jimin and BTS fan is to see Jimin and BTS happy and thriving. If Jimin is getting himself loved up by Jungkook in addition to that, bonus, that brings me such joy. But it's also not my business and I wouldn't want for them to endure the fallout that comes with being outed. So I just try really hard to walk that line between being curious/excited, and being obtrusive/demanding, you know?

And I will say: the gentle way Jungkook chose to rest his hand overtop Jimin's while they both giggled alone in the dark at the back of Hobi's party? I can dine out on that for weeks. They seem good. I'm good. :-)

Dear For Real:

While of course I have seen compilations of Jikookery from other Memories before, this was my first time as an Army getting Memories content in real time. I am really exited!

I have a lot of medical bills from surgeries this year, so I can't afford extras right now. Meaning, I couldn't buy a copy (yet). I'm relying on online Armys like Peaches to share the cool stuff. So I haven't seen it all.

YET I MUST SAY I AM LOVING IT SO FAR.

Particularly what strikes me most is that I'd known of the birthday Live, the LA Live, and Rose Bowl in 2021, but I really had no clue what the day-to-day or behind-the-scenes vibe was between them.

I'd seen other Jikookers say they were drifting apart since the pandemic in 2020, and that seemed like it could be a valid take, given the content (or lack thereof) in very early 2022. Relationships change in tone and chemistry over time. It's no crime to wonder if that happened to Jikook.

But now there's MORE content and oh boy was Jikookery off the charts all last year. There is just far, far too much to ever be considered mere fan service. There was exclusive intimacy and closeness that happened organically and I am rolling around it in like a cat in nip.

Jikookery was happening in boring old quiet times in between hair and makeup. It was happening in both loud and subtle ways during rehearsals. It was happening in the background between takes when the camera wasn't supposed to be on them. It was happening on stage when the lights were down or the show was over.

The delight Jimin and Jungkook take in each other is obvious to anyone with half a brain cell left.

The Jeon Parks were Jeon Parking everywhere, with flirtatious tones and cuddles on the couch and so many lifts and hugs and hand holding and hand licking and neck scenting and handcuffs and tickling and staring and teasing and intense smiles and waiting for each other and neck massages and back rubs and knowledge about drum lessons and CARRESSING BARE WAISTS UNDER CROP TOPS (my favorite, if you can't tell by the screaming all-caps). It's been just lovely to see.

And while I expected some folks to have a problem with all that... what also surprised me is how HARD some folks are working to try and debunk everything we just saw with our own eyes. The meltdowns. The hate speech. The hashtags trending right now, my sweet baby Jesus. Ugh. Q-Anon should hire these people.

The saddest part is that there were some really lovely moments among other members with dancing, giggles, back-lifts, and hair-caressing that should have been celebrated, but haters are too focused on hating Jikook to enjoy anything. As if two multi-millionaire global superstars need to lie about their feelings for each other year after year after year just to sell DVDs. In particular, Jimin gets the worst of it, and as you say he really does have his angelic traits.

But rather than let that negative craziness get me upset, I'm just going to keep reveling in and celebrating all the Jikookery we got from last year. Obviously I don't know what's up with them right at this exact moment in 2022, but I'm far more inclined to sit tight and wait to see a fuller picture, now that I've experienced my first Memories. There was so much I never knew I never knew. ❤
