Prongsfoot Bingo: Cheating/Amnesia

to give you all a glimpse of how my brain works, here are my actual notes on this idea:

James holding Sirius's face, "he's the only person who looks at me that way" - fic abt S at Jily wedding, dying inside; doesn't talk to J for a month or so, J confronts, they kiss, J tells L, and…? OR they kiss and S forgets it happened, J has to live with it!!!! Omfg that sucks lmao do that one

I'm not sure if that makes sense to anyone else, but essentially I was trying to sort out the "cheating" prompt when I saw the amnesia prompt and my evil little brain was like "😈 now that sounds like fun"

ur so real for that bc they take up 99% of my brain too (the 1% goes to all of the unexplored sibling dynamics in the fandom 😔)

here's the 200 word essay i promised:

LISTEN i love them so much. like the one good thing marauders tiktok did was introduce me to this ship bc i genuinely could not choose between jily and jegulus if you put a gun to my head. and the dynamic between regulus and lily??? the younger siblings who were abandoned by their older siblings?? shared trauma hello??? TALK ABOUT THEM MORE

i feel like people look past the ship really quickly because it's 1) a poly ship and 2) a ship including a character most hc as gay (reg) and a character most hc as lesbian (lily). not even gonna mention that regulus is a death eater bc that argument has no value when we've babygirl-ified him in every other aspect in this fandom. like now you wanna bring it up?? 🤨🤨

but their dynamic is just ??? chef's kiss. i have no words like you got rivals to lovers in almost every aspect (jegulus with quidditch, jily has their... thing, and regulily could even be academic rivals if you wanna go down that route??). the drama of a blood traitor pureblood, a muggleborn and a pureblood from a traditional family in ONE relationship??? top tier.

james is the sun, regulus is a star, lily is the sky. or alternatively; james is the sun, regulus is the sea, lily is the earth.

i love every version of them. no voldemort au hogwarts jegulily being awkward teenagers? canon divergence fix it with regulus coming to james and lily's doorstep for help? modern au? regulus as the kindergarten teacher that little harry is trying to set up with his parents (new fic idea just dropped)? band au (i'll get to it one day i promise)? regulus raising harry after jily died?? I WILL LOVE THEM IN EVERY UNIVERSE
