I feel so bad for Dabi.Imagine your dad loves you and is good to you,your little sister and your mom for the first few years of your life but then suddenly he starts becoming abusive to all of you because he cares more about power than his wife and kids and treats you and your siblings like you're nothing because you weren't born with the powers he wanted and it hurts you so much that combined with the rest of his mistreatment that you start hating your own baby brother because he's the only one he sort of cares about anymore(not really but you're only 9 so you can't understand that yet).

Then when you get older,you burn almost your whole body and nearly die because of it and when you wake up,you can't even cry about your pain anymore-physical AND emotional-and you find out nothing's changed at home so you get so angry that you stop caring about not hurting others and become a supervillain.And once you're an adult,you manage to find a new family who loves and cares about you just as much as your birth one but some fucking bootlicker decides to insert himself into it by pretending to be friends with you and them and he murders your best friend,who was also one of the first friend's you had period,and disregards all the horrific things your dad did because he thinks his feelings are more important than yours.

Not only that but so many people say you were always evil to take the blame off the latter and victim blame you and just as many say you were/are in love with the former,both based off nothing.Call me a 'Dabi apologist' all you want,i don't give two shits that an abuse survivor who could never get therapy is an asshole as a coping mechanism,he's earned it and i also don't care that he killed FICTIONAL people,because he's a literal villain and if you fiveheadasses can stan and thrist after the person that made him that way and ship him with the guy who killed someone he loved,i can love a character that's actually good

I LOVE the villains. I adore tenko and while I stand by my decision to write him out early in bitter rivalry, I also always thought it was a shame, because I love him. I'm not caught up on the manga but my friend is keeping me up to date... seems like horikoshi is really tapping into the fantastic potential of tenko's character as someone who was groomed since childhood to become this destructive monster and was never given the chance to form a healthy sense of identity... and the parallels with izuku? how they were both these timid little abused children who idolized heroes even though they had mixed feelings about whether or not heroes could actually be trusted? because they needed something to believe in? oh my god

I also find keigo to be very compelling, and touya as well, and how they interact with each other. the concept of keigo who was essentially BOUGHT by the government as a child and raised into this maximum-pressure role???? doing all this fucked up shit, like becoming a spy in this nationally feared terrorist organization, and murdering jin who was his friend, and betraying dabi who he had so much in common with, and that's to say nothing of his normal hero life which involves having the whole entire world on his shoulders, publicly, at all times. and he's like. literally my age. girl

and then touya????? one thing I lowkey can't forgive canon for is that touya told the whole world what enji did, and the whole world just decided to do nothing about it. honestly I preferred fanon touya before he released that video in the manga, when all the dabi fics had him going around killing abusers and shit as vicarious revenge against his dad instead of just murdering innocent people to spite his dad. but either way touya as one of the people the hero system actively victimizes - the son of a violent abuser who is worshipped for the exact same aggression he wields against his wife and kids - and touya's refusal to lie down and let it happen, his decision to fight back with all his strength no matter how much of a monster it makes him... now that's good

keigo and touya having no say whatsoever in their childhoods being raised for combat... keigo and touya always holding endeavor as their ultimate symbol of what heroism is and means... keigo and touya being liars, keeping secrets, burying themselves in so many layers of truth and untruth and half-truth that they can't quite distinguish anymore who they are or what they believe, only what they do... keigo and touya trusting no one, keigo and touya dreaming so hard for a better world even though they have no evidence that it's possible at all. keigo and touya being in love and still stabbing each other in the back bc they don't have the freedom not to, or think they don't

Moving into a new place is always a hassle for everyone involved. Hiring movers, packing, loading, unloading, unpacking, and then having to spend the next month or more attempting to acclimate to the new surroundings and feelings of displacement. But moving in with your significant other for the first time? It makes it just a little more bearable. Furniture shopping, deciding on décor, playful bickering over if a stiffer or softer mattress is better – the little things that make the journey more enjoyable. Said journey is made even more enjoyable when one’s significant other is no other than Jin Bubaigawara, a comedically eccentric man who, despite his crumbling mental state, knows just how to liven up any event regardless of it’s theme. He knew the perfect ways to “spice up” a mundane task, as he puts it, which really just consists of making a fool of himself intentionally. But it gets his friends to laugh and smile, so he does what he can for them. This is no different for his lover, [Name], either.

Shopping trip after shopping trip of buying necessities can get boring and draining real fast. Groceries, hygiene needs, kitchen sets, furniture, frames for pictures and posters, hardware for hanging said framed pictures and posters – the list seemingly never ends. Jin, however, was always determined to keep their spirits high, by any means necessary. Pretending to be a furniture sales agent and giving the most obvious or bullshit details about a couch they’re looking at, or poking fun at whatever weird-looking object they happen to come across in their shopping spree. He once tried to do consecutive backflips off a line of beds in one of the furniture outlets he and his partner went to, and likely would have succeeded in that task had it not been for the employee yelling at them both to leave.

“What a party pooper – What an asshole!” Jin had said then, with a pout that resembled a child being scolded by their parent for just wanting to have fun. [Name] merely patted his shoulder in assurance, shepherding him off to the next destination.

“They just don’t understand what it means to be in love and have fun,” [Name] had responded with, not knowing the weight their words had just put on Jin’s mind. A good weight, but one that leaves you feeling both anxious and giddy, eager to share your thoughts but scared to have them rejected.

Love. Jin knew he was in love with them, had known since the day they first spoke to each other. But when was a good time to say it? When do normal people say they love their partner? Jin was no normal person, what much was clear – quirk trauma, villainous background, and an incredibly lonely past can do a number on ones behavior. He was ready to propose to them right off the bat, if they were as starved for affection as he was; but [Name] was normal, as far as he could tell, and Jin wanted to give them a regular-paced relationship. So far moving in with each other is a huge step… but did couples confess their love before or after that? Is it still too early, or was he too late? Does he say it now, or wait till marriage? These were the kinds of thoughts that weighed heavily on his mind, and the closer they got to fully moving into their new apartment, the more obvious it was in his attitude.

“Okay, what’s on your mind, big guy?” [Name] released a sigh of relief when the two of them flopped backward onto their new shared bed, the box spring and frame finally set up and the mattress covered with brand new sheets and a comforter to match. “You’ve been quiet and distracted these last few days. Distracted I’m used to, but the quiet part is very unlike you,” they mention, turning their head to gaze over at him.

Jin blinks out of his stupor, not moving to look at his partner and opting to continue staring at the ceiling. “Nothing! Nothing at all – well, maybe something – nope! Totally fine, just tired,” he rambles, his second personality cutting in occasionally. “Been a long week, y’know? Fuckin’ exhausted as hell – just lots to do, and still more to be done! Ugh, just kill me now.” Finally, he turns and gives them a reassuring grin, eyes squinted in content as he gazes softly at them. I love you, I love you, I love you, his mind chanted, the words begging to be released since the day they met.

[Name] raises an eyebrow, returning the grin back to him. “Yeah, me too, I understand. Almost over, though, so don’t worry!” They chirp, tone shifting briefly from tired to lighthearted in an attempt to comfort the other.

I love you, I love you, I love you.

“Ha! Yeah, you could say that again,” Jin mirrors their tone, stretching his arms a bit before relaxing again against the bed.

I love you, I love you, I love you.

[Name] shifts their position so that they can cuddle up to his side, head resting against his pec and arm draped over his chest. Jin’s arm reaches out to wrap around their shoulder.

I love you, I love you, I love you –

“I love you,” Jin’s second voice blurts out, his free hand immediately snapping up to cover his mouth in panic. He feels [Name] jolt slightly from the sudden movement, though Jin took it as a sign of shock.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to- well, I guess I did mean to – God, I love you – fuck, I mean…!” He rambles yet again, the words pouring from his mouth as he attempts to explain a situation that didn’t need an explanation, the hand that was over his mouth now nervously running through his hair. “I… it’s… it’s not too early to say that, is it?” He asks tentatively.

Feeling his partner shift around and lift themselves up, Jin’s eyes flick towards them, waiting for an answer. Instead of the shocked, uncomfortable expression he was expecting, the blonde man was instead greeted by his lover’s look of fond confusion. The kind of look that says, ‘You’re such a dork, but a cute one’.

“Too early? Jin, babe, we just moved in together. I was honestly getting worried at this point,” [Name] grins brightly at him, leaning in to touch their nose to his. “I love you too, you dork.”

Jin blinks owlishly at them, letting the words settle into his heart as it swells with adoration, a goofy smile stretching across his face. “You love me…? Who wouldn’t?!” The words of his second side were boisterous and proud, though they both know it was a ruse to cover his obvious anxiety over the situation. Gathering up [Name] in a bear hug, he laughs as they squeak in surprise, but quickly join in his laughter as Jin rocks them side to side within the hug.

“They love me! They love me!”

Then again, who wouldn't?

UA Students:

The UA decided to throw a big party for their students - after all, it's what they deserve after months of fighting villains and getting into life-threatening situations. The main hall, the dorms, classrooms - everything was decorated with ornaments and hand-made decorations students made. Some teachers, like Present Mic and All Might were rather excited, helping the kids with the decorations and even adding some holiday activities in their classes. Others, like Aizawa, weren't so stoked. As for the students, most of class 1A was very excited. It took some convincing, a hell of a lot of persuasions from the Bakusquad, and a few nice pleas from you and Kirishima, but Bakugo was finally on board as well.

Even though they work at different agencies, the pros always make time to hang out with each other during the holidays. Some of them are best friends, some of them are just work friends, and some of them even have rivalries, but the holidays are one time of the year when they can just have fun and be grateful that they are all well and alive. All Might tried to get everyone to come to the holiday work party, however not many came. Even though they love each other, the pros love their families and friends even more. And what's a better time to finally be home and spend some time with them than the winter holidays? You certainly thought so.

Hey, just because they are psychotic villains doesn't mean they don't get to celebrate the holidays! Twice was the one who initiated a little holiday spirit, and all of them just went with it (unwillingly). Shigaraki and Dabi are the ones who complain the most about wearing the cliche Santa hats and having Christmas lights in their hide-out, but they didn't have the heart to ruin it for Twice, Toga, and you. It might have not been much, but you still exchanged little gifts on New Year's Day. All in all, it was the best holiday season any villain could ask for.

Finishing My Hero Academia off with some miscellaneous peeps. Which includes some of the villains and some of the kids from the other classes. I'm only going to talk about the ones I have personal investment in or ones that absolutely bear mentioning.

Disclaimer: These are my own thoughts and opinions. This is how I’m choosing to engage with this media in this post. There are other ways to engage with a chosen media and neither way of engagement invalidates the other. Art is subjective. Fandom is ultimately for fun! Don’t take me too seriously!

Now that introductions are out of the way, here we go!!!

Shimura Tenko | Shigaraki Tomura (he/him): Aromantic

He's never been romantically attracted to anyone. Doesn't really want to be, either. He's got better things to do anyway. Like destroying heroes.

Todoroki Touya | Dabi (he/him): Gay

He likes men. I don't think he thinks much about it. He just wants to take his abusive old man out in the most dramatic, theatrical way possible. If he catches a little bird on the way, that's simply a plus.

Toga Himiko (she/her): Bisexual

Actually Canon?? There seems to be some debate on this matter. Even though I think it's pretty cut-and-dry

I... don't particularly like Toga. I've just never vibed with her. And I do think her character leans a little too heavily into the depraved bisexual trope. But I understand her appeal and... it's representation right? Right??

Bubaigawara Jin | Twice (he/him): Pansexual

Gender isn't important in who he loves. And this man wants to be loved. Very badly. Give this man a hug now.

Magne (she/her): Trans

Actually Canon and deserved better.

Magne was not handled well. I don't think it was malicious on Horikoshi's part, based on his track record, but it is a problem with how rep is portrayed in media. I won't get into it too much. Glad she's here. There are still problems, but I don't think it was born out of hatred but more to just ignorance.

Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu (he/him): Bisexual

He likes men, women, in-between and beyond. And he is very in love with Kendo. Everything she does makes him very happy. He is very whipped.

Kendo Itsuka (she/they): Bisexual

Tetstu and Kendo are that meme that's like "a totally hetero couple... unless?"

Kendo appreciates the feminine form as much as the masculine. An alternate pairing I really like is MomoKen, because... Sapphics!!!

Monoma Neito (he/him): Queer

Monoma is Not Straight! And he'd be offended if you thought he was. He didn't put that much effort into his mannerisms and his fit just to be mistaken for.... heterosexual (derogatory).

Hatsume Mei (she/her): Pan-Demi

Gender doesn't matter. What matters is the emotional connection between one-another....

oh and if you'll let her run some experiments on you and she'd really like if you tested out one of her babies, and it'll only hurt a little bit. At worst it'll feel like a mild heart-attack-

BELLUM. this little drop in brought to you by the continuing fact that I am in fucking love with Bubaigawara Jin and adore his relationships with my muses (and always want more bc the way Jas writes Jin is *chef kiss*)

anyway also brought to u by two thoughts

exhibit A: Jin is very lonely during the day while at Elsa’s house bc she’s at work, so he clones her simply so he can have some company. (he also clones her whenever she isn’t around and he needs a hug) after ‘catching’ him doing this when she comes home early, she just sort of. laughs and gives him a hug and is like “you know you can call me at work if you get lonely right??? as long as I’m not busy I’ll pick up”… and she goes on to say that if she doesn’t pick up, it’s ok that he makes a clone of her, that’s fine? he’s used to people thinking that’s kind of creepy but she literally sees no problem with it, it’s sort of like she can be there for him even while she’s at work. but she also makes sure to give him ALL the hugs whenever she can!! she loves her friend v v much and just wants to do what’s best for him, she definitely doesn’t want him to feel like he needs to clone her to get quality time, but also doesn’t want him to feel like he has to refrain from it to spare her feelings, all the clones he makes are exactly like her so why should she be offended or upset?

exhibit B: Jin trying to go without his mask for longer because he wants Riley to think he’s ‘normal’ and totally not a troubled weird man. he wants her to trust him and listen to him, so, obviously the best way to do that is to go without the mask so that he at least sort of looks normal. fast forward to the poor man starting to have a breakdown, which is VERY noticeable to Riley; he’s anxious and having trouble communicating and just not having a good time. because this kid is more observant than he thought, she just grabs the mask and gently slips it on over his head, and gives him a smile as she tugs it down. “… there. all better.” and sure it’s not all better because Jin has his issues and just this isn’t gonna solve everything going on in his head BUT DAMMIT THIS KID WANTS HIM TO FEEL BETTER AND SHE NOTICED THAT THE MASK MAKES HIM FEEL BETTER AND SHE DOESN’T EVEN CARE IF HE ‘LOOKS NORMAL’ SHE JUST WANTS HIM TO BE OKAY AND HE’S ABOUT TO LIE DOWN AND SOB BECAUSE HOW THE HELL DOES THIS KID JUST UNDERSTAND AND BE SO COMPASSIONATE WHEN NO ONE OUTSIDE THE LEAGUE HAS EVER DONE SOMETHING LIKE THAT he’s gonna cry and she’s gonna hug him forever and then go make dinner bc holy shit her guardian has had a bad time he deserves a break

unrelated but something I’m cackling over: Elsa and Hawks have such a close friendship that even when they are actively dating other people, the public still mistakes them for dating each other.
