a/n: this had been in my drafts for so long, finally it had seen the light of day! this was actually my first written work but it's only lately i finally decided on a muse. my second fanfic, at last. not requested, totally self-indulgent. masterlist on the works.

You stared at the mint colored petal wrapped in scarlet. You were stupid. Still am stupid. But how do you stop?

It was pretty cliche how you fell for him. He was your protector, your sunlight, and your shoulder to cry on. You were bestfriends for as long as you could remember and it didn't even sink in to you that you started developing more than friendly feelings for him.

Until one day you started coughing up petals.

You had initially denied it was him, so afraid to cross the invisible line of friendship and romance. But every petal you held in your hands were this beautiful pale mint color, his favorite color ever since you were kids. It was even more stupid to deny it for longer.

In passing, you had heard about this disease. You had felt pity for the others who were not so lucky to have their love reciprocated. You had brushed it off, laughed it off, proclaiming you won't be as stupid as to fall for someone who won't love you back. What happened to that confident woman now? Is she still laughing?

Maybe. But now she's laughing at you.

You mentally slapped yourself from your reverie. You flushed the mint colored petals and hoped for your predicament to get better. Maybe it won't but what else do you have to lose?

Besides, today is special. He had asked to meet today. He wanted to show off this quaint coffee shop he found and you couldn't refuse his invitation. More like, he wouldn't let you. He kept begging you for days, looking at you with those puppy eyes of his so how could you say no.

He was already waiting for you once you got to your meeting place. He was fidgeting as he always did when he was nervous. It sent a flurry of butterflies in your stomach, thinking that he may be nervous meeting you. A spark of hope lit up in you. Maybe. Just maybe...this disease would end as soon as it came.

"Hey. You came! I thought you'd ditch at the last minute." He said while flashing that smile of his which made his eyes crinkle and his dimple to show. It was enough for you to rush to the nearest bathroom and throw up the petals you had held in the moment you saw him.

His face was etched with concern as soon as you returned. He knew something was off and even the smile you gave him wasn't enough for him to let that slip.

"You know, let's do this some other time. You don't look too good. You look really sick. You should've told me earlier."

"Don't overreact. I'm fine." You lied through your teeth. "Besides, you were basically on your knees, begging to go out today."

"We can reschedule. It's fine."

And so he had his way and he started to walk you home, arm slung comfortably on your shoulder. It made you ache inside as you fought the flowers to not resurface at this moment.

"I'm sorry for spoiling today." You whispered, afraid to speak any louder in case the petals sneak and show themselves.

"It's okay. She'll understand."

"She?" You asked as you looked up at him, looking guilty like he let a big secret out.

"Uhh... Yeah. I'm actually seeing someone." He said, a blush steadily creeping in his cheeks. It made the ache you were feeling a little bit stronger as you saw that tinge of color. He was blushing. "She's important to me and I wanted you to meet her 'cause you know, you're my bestfriend."

God. How could you be so cruel.

The coughing bouts you had became uncontrollable then. Petal upon petal flew from your mouth, each coated with blood. You barely flashed a look at him but it was enough for you to see the different emotions that passed through his face.

"Who?" He whispered as he crouched beside you, all the while patting your back.

"Who else?"

"Me? Why? When?" He stood up now and he brushed his hair in frustration. He knew the repercussions of your disease. "Why? We..."

"We're bestfriends. I know. You've made that clear the first time."

"I'm sorry..." He stepped forward to hug you but this time you stepped back. You had never avoided his physical affection and now that you did, it confused him for a moment before understanding your actions. "Is there nothing I can do?"

"I never would've gotten this disease had you done the first thing you should've."

"No... No. I-I do love you. It's just..."

"Not the same. I know. I realize that." You placed a hand on your chest, hoping it would quell that incoming cough again. "I knew the consequences of my emotions. It isn't for you to bear. Just go. Please. Go."

"But..."

"GO."

You saw his back slowly turning on you. You saw him taking slow, cautious steps away from you. You felt even emptier as he left you alone. It was the right thing to do and yet the pain in your chest persisted and grew.

You didn't resist it now. The blood-stained petals came and they would eventually grow and take root until you draw your last breath.

A soft smile formed on Dongmin’s face as he walked out of his room, quietening down straight away as he looked to the sofa in the middle of the dorm. It had been a while since he’d seen you, but at last you were back.

“They’ve not moved for ages,” Minhyuk remarked as he too walked out of his room and noticed Dongmin looking at you.

Dongmin’s smile turned up even more as he listened, “poor Y/N must be knackered from travelling.”

Minhyuk nodded in agreement with Dongmin as they both sat on the sofa opposite to the two of you. “Usually I want to do something to annoy them, but they look too settled for me to want to do that today.”

“You just feel sorry for Y/N’s jetlag, that’s all.”

“If it was just Myungjun asleep right now I’d have a cold glass of water over him in a flash,” Minhyuk proudly admitted, bringing another laugh out of Dongmin. “But, seeing as it’s Y/N the water can save for another day.”

“Shall we give the two of them some space?”

“They’ve got the space of a whole sofa,” Minhyuk scoffed, “as much as I love Y/N, she’s still a guest in our dorm Dongmin.”

“Don’t let Myungjun hear you say that.”

JinJin:

A groan came from Sanha as he walked off the set, greeted straight away by the sight of Jinwoo sat in one of the chairs, you positioned in his lap with your eyes tightly shut, Jinwoo snoring lightly just beside you.

“What’s that grumble for?” Moonbin quizzed as he caught up with Sanha to see what the problem was for him to sigh.

Sanha pointed to his left straight away, “these two…again…he only walked off set seconds ago.”

A sympathetic laugh came from Moonbin as he studied the tight hold that Jinwoo had around you. “You know what the two of them are like, once they start cuddling it’s inevitable that they’ll just fall asleep.”

A loud laugh escaped from Minhyuk as he answered his phone, quickly calling the rest of the boys over. He zoomed in on the photo that he had been sent so that everyone could see what it was that he had found.

“Is that Dongmin? And Y/N?” Jinwoo laughed as he peered over Dongmin’s shoulder, “how did you get your hands on that?”

A shrug of the shoulders came from Dongmin, “I got sent it by a friend who’s working on his drama.”

The boys broke out into a fit of chuckles as they all made sure to get a good look at the photo. “Make sure that you keep a hold of that Min, you never quite know when we might be able to use that against him.”

“Are you blackmailing him with it?”

“Perhaps,” Moonbin proudly smiled in response to Jinwoo’s question, “just imagine his face when we ask him to do something and one day show him that photo of their cuddle when he tells us he’s not doing it.”

“That does sound like something fun for us.”

“See, it’s perfect,” Moonbin chuckled to himself. “Minhyuk, make sure you keep that photo, we’ll get some good use from that.”

“It’s already there in my camera roll.”

Moonbin:

An appreciative smile formed on Myungjun’s face as he was handed the keycard for your hotel room. He called out your names only to be met by silence, finally walking into the room to find you both on the bed.

“Did you find them? Are they alive?” Sanha joked as he caught up to Myungjun, only to find you both fast asleep too.

Myungjun nodded as he pointed in your direction, “I think jetlag caught up with some people.”

A roll of the eyes came from Sanha as Dongmin appeared just behind his shoulder. “They’ll kill us if we wake them up now, maybe we could save them something for dinner or bring some bits up to the room for them.”

“Moonbin does love his food.”

“He loves Y/N much more than food though,” Myungjun reminded Sanha as he spoke, “I think he’d be much angrier if we woke him up from a cuddle with Y/N, we all know just how much he loves one of those.”

“Do you think he’ll mind eating a cold dinner?”

“If he gets a cuddle from Y/N out of it, I think he’ll be alright,” Dongmin chuckled as once again Sanha asked the question.

Rocky:

A snigger came from Jinwoo as he came back out from the dressing room, holding his hand up and stopping the rest of the boys from walking in. They were far from impressed as they searched for rest after their rehearsal.

“We’re not allowed in here,” Jinwoo tried his best to tell them all, “it looks like Y/N and Minhyuk are fast asleep.”

Moonbin stepped forwards, only to be pushed back again. “I said we can’t go in and disturb them.”

Sanha stepped forwards too just beside Moonbin, “where are we supposed to sit if we can’t even go in our own dressing room? We have to sit out in the corridor because those two might look slightly cute.

“Take a look for yourself.”

“I’ll do just that,” Moonbin retorted, nudging past Jinwoo to be able to look at the two of you, only to stop as he found you both. “Oh,” he stuttered as he looked at you both, “I guess they do look pretty cute after all.”

“See, let’s just give them a few minutes to rest.”

“A few minutes is all they’re getting,” Moonbin told the rest of the boys, “they might be cute but they’re not that cute just yet.”

“I knew we’d be able to convince you.”

Sanha:

The boys were quickly shushed by Dongmin as they made their way into the dorm, only to find you and Sanha laid out across the sofa with his arms holding onto you, making sure that you didn’t roll and fall.

“That’s our sofa,” Myungjun complained in a hushed whisper, “we go for ten minutes and they steal out spots.”

Several shakes of the head came from the boys, “we can’t move them, they look so comfortable.”

Moonbin was the first to step towards you both, leaning over the sofa as he spotted the faint smiles that were on both of your faces. “Look at how adorable they are, it’s like they purposely try to make us jealous.”

“They don’t do that.”

“I bet they planned this,” Myungjun agreed, trying his best to control the volume of his voice. “They probably wanted us to find them so that we’d all be reminded of how single we are compared to the two of them.”

“Or, they could just be really tired right now.”

“Don’t excuse this,” Myungjun warned Minhyuk as he offered a more reasonable possibility, “we can’t let them get away with this.”

“They’re not even doing anything wrong.”

a week finally passes, another week left to go.

you laughed with him, not noticing sanha floating in the air infront of you.

"uh... excuse me?" sanha looked at both of you with obvious jealousy.

"oh, sanha!" you said, walking towards him.

"y/n, it's about to start... i'm very nervous." he sighed.

"what do you want me to do about it?"

"it's kinda embarrassing..." he whispered.

"go on, i don't care."

"really?" he asked.

"mhm." you hummed in approval.

"call me lover boy." he said, in an extremely soft voice.

"what? come again?"

"call me lover boy!" he shouted, his iconic tomato face appearing.

"yah! not so loud!" you said, looking around, embarrassed, your seniors looking at the both of you weirdly.

awkward silence was filling the atmosphere, as your flustered self looked at sanha's red face.

"f-fine..." you grumbled.

anticipation filled sanha's heart, a smile slowly forming his face.

"good luck and do your best..." you said, "l-lover boy."

extremely blushed and flustered faces were plastered on both of you, until you suddenly kissed him on the cheek.

he looked at you, shocked, until a whistle blows along with the calls of his hyungs to start the game. he flies to start the game, leaving you.

the game finally ends, with rocky gaining the triumph.

you go down to visit sanha. who was currently sitting town.

"sanha, you okay?" you towered above him.

"yes? no... uh, i don't know?" he said, avoiding eye contact.

"god, i distracted you didn't i?" you frowned. "i shouldn't have kissed you..." you whined.

"oh no! i-it's totally fine..." he stuttered.

"b-but i admit, even though you were red and flustered like a tomato during the game, you still did great..." you complimented him.

"thanks..." he let out a shaky sigh, before standing up.

"ye-yeah?" you said, looking up at the tall figure that was now towering over you.

"y/n, these past few weeks, i've realized that you- you- you're-"

he paused, looking into your eyes.

"I THINK YOU'RE HOT AND I LIKE YOU!" he said, before running away screaming.

"S-SANHA! WAIT UP!" you shouted before chasing after him.

you lost him. you couldn't find him, he's gone!

you asked everyone around if they'd seen him, unfortunately no one has.

you arrived at the library, looking through every. single. isle.

you heard whispers coming from one of the isles, the whispers sounding like sanha's annoying voice which you liked so much.

you slowly walked to the isle, to find sanha with his hyung, jinjin.

"well you should've watched the game to see what happened!" sanha complained.

"so you just basically... ran away?" jinwoo teased him.

"yeah..."

"well, go back and find her you stupid boy!" jinjin scolded, pushing sanha to leave.

"o-okay..."

"i don't he'll be needing to find me." you popped out, smiling.

sanha froze when he saw you.

"come here sanha."

he looked at his hyung, scared.

"just go..." jinwoo rolled his eyes.

sanha walked to you, looking at your face to find any anger or any negative emotions in your expressions.

"why'd you run away?" you asked him.

"i... i just didn't want to be rejected."

"rejected? you didn't even get to hear my response!" you whispered in an annoyed tone.

"it's because, i realized that it was the extremely worst timing since m-hyung came back..." he pouted.

"yah! i'm totally totally over him!" you said, making sanha feel relieved.

"why would i kiss your cheek if i didn't like you?" you mumbled.

"y-you like me?" sanha's eyes widened.

"yes, for a while now... most of the time i just act annoyed with you because of the task, but i promise you, i'm actually super duper in love with you." you explained.

sanha was flabbergasted, he didn't know what to say. at all.

"oh... okay." he breathed.

"so?"

"oh... okay." he said once again, making you laugh.

you looked into his eyes, before going on your tiptoes, grabbing sanha's nape to make him bend down more.

you connect your lips with his, for a short second, before pulling away.

"oh." said sanha.

"is oh your favorite word now?" you giggled, still on your tiptoes, arms wrapped around his shoulder.

"i... i don't know." he smiled, before kissing you again.

you broke the kiss to see where that noise came from, only to see jinwoo taking photos with his phone.

9pm.

You both had lived busy lives but you promised to spend tonight together. So you found yourselves huddled in the back of his pick-up truck which he has made as cozy as he could. Watching the starlit sky was one of your bucket list but of course it had to rain that night and you ended up in a random parking area, watching movies on his laptop and seated as closely as possible.

He had an arm slung across your shoulder and you nuzzled comfortably on his. At this space, at this time, it was just you and him and the beer in your hand and the sparkling water for him. He never drank a sip when he drove with you, he was responsible like that. It was one of the things you loved about him.

The movie's audio was set so low you could barely make out the conversation of the actors but you actually didn't care. He had you enveloped in his warmth and you were content and happy. You let out a sigh of contentment and you saw him smile through the corner of your eyes.

You then talked about your future, of the house you dreamed to have and the grand wedding he wanted to give you. You punched him lightly when he jokingly said he wanted five kids at the minimum.

You talked about how you'd annoy your children and grandchildren with your endless parade of affection and how he'd hold your hand lovingly like today for the rest of your lives. It will be you and him, wrinkles and all.

He dropped you off at your place and just when you were about to get off, he grabbed and kissed you--gentle and tentative at first but needy and demanding as soon as you responded. There was only silence as you and him broke off from the kiss, each one afraid to break that wonderful bubble but he eventually got the courage to whisper that he loves you. You smiled and nodded and said you loved him too.

You waved him off with a lovestruck look in your eyes and once he was far enough to not see, you finally let yourself break down.

You both decided to meet up for one last time before you let each other go.

When He Lays Down On Your Butt ~ Astro Reaction

JinJin:

“I’ve found the perfect spot to sleep,” Jinwoo proudly announced, making sure he had your attention as he laid himself down.

“No way,” you tried to argue as you figured where he was about to lay, but Jinwoo was far too quick for you as he rested his head down against your butt before you could roll away.

A confident laugh came from him as he shuffled over your bump to get comfortable, “I was right, this is the perfect spot for me to sleep.”

“Stop sounding so smug,” you scolded, kicking your foot back so that it knocked into Jinwoo, “I’ll get you back for this too.”

A loud laugh came from Jinwoo, “you can never stay mad at me for too long.”

“If I was strong enough to move you off of my butt, I definitely would right now,” you sighed back across to Jinwoo, “you’re lucky to be strong.”

“You usually love how strong I am.”

“I know, don’t remind me.”

MJ:

“Don’t mind me,” a giggly Myungjun told you as he laid down on your butt from your invitation, feeling strange straight away.

“What’s so funny?” You cluelessly asked him, unsure as to what had tickled him so much. “Please tell me you’re not laughing at the fact that you’re laying on my butt right now, are you?”

The pause that came from him soon told you everything. “It just feels so funny, I never imagined that I would lay here, it’s kind of surreal.”

“I can’t with you sometimes,” you laughed, pressing your hand to the top of your head. “What am I going to do with you?”

Another shy chuckle came from Myungjun, “do I look cute down here Y/N?”

“Do you look cute laying on my butt?” You questioned Myungjun in disbelief, “what am I even supposed to say in reply to that, you’re an idiot.”

“I’ll take that as a yes from you then.”

“You always look cute to me.”

Cha Eunwoo:

“I’m so tired,” Dongmin remarked as he dropped down on the bed, glancing at your figure that was already stretched out.

“Lay down then,” you told him as you absentmindedly scrolled through your phone, suddenly feeling a weight come down on your butt. “I meant lay down on your pillow, not lay down on me.”

A shrug followed from Dongmin as he struggled to hold back his laughter, “I just thought I’d lay down in the cosiest spot for me to rest in.”

“You can’t spend all night asleep on my butt,” you challenged, rolling your eyes at him. “You know you’ll have to move.”

Dongmin’s head shook back at you, “is that a challenge? I reckon that I can stay.”

“There’s no way,” you immediately predicted in reply to him. “I can make laying on my butt very uncomfortable for you if you want me to do so Min.”

“You wouldn’t do that to me though.”

“Do you want to find out and see?”

Moonbin:

“This is comfy,” Moonbin couldn’t help but tease as soon as he lowered his head down, planting it in the middle of your butt.

“I’m glad you’re comfy,” you joked, surprised by how heavy he was as he laid down on top of you. “I don’t remember saying that you could lay down on me, and especially on my butt too.”

A cheeky smile formed on Moonbin’s face as he met your eyes, “you can’t say no to me now that I’m here, and especially as I’m so comfortable.”

“I reckon I could get you off if I wanted to,” you smirked, jolting your butt up so that Moonbin’s head bounced in the air.

He shot a glare at you straight away, “that’s so mean, what did I do to deserve that?”

“Next time you decide you want to lay on my butt, it’s a reminder to ask first,” you teasingly scolded him, “I don’t just let anyone lay down on my butt you know.”

“But if they’re as handsome as me?”

“I guess they can get away with it.”

Rocky:

“Hi,” Minhyuk giggled as he noticed you glancing down to look at him, settled on your butt with a wide smile on his face.

“What do you think you’re doing?” You challenged with a shake of your head, watching as Minhyuk didn’t move an inch. “That’s not a pillow you know, you can’t rest your head down there.”

A pout formed on Minhyuk’s face as he refused to budge. “Pillows are boring, it’s fun to try out new things to rest on instead sometimes Y/N.”

“That’s a ridiculous excuse,” you scoffed back down to him, “you’re just saying that to convince me to let you stay laying there.”

A slight nod came from Minhyuk, “is it working? Can I stay laying on your butt?”

“You’re impossible,” you whispered, but found yourself nodding your head anyway. “I don’t know how, or why, I let you get away with these things sometimes.”

“It’s because you love me so much.”

“Of course, that must be it Min.”

Sanha:

“Y/N, come on,” Sanha huffed as he dropped down on the bed beside where you laid, continuing to work on your laptop.

“I’ve nearly done,” you assured Sanha, watching as he shuffled towards you and laid his head against your butt in an attempt to finally get some attention from you. “Laying there won’t make me faster.”

An innocent smile formed on Sanha’s face as he looked up at you, “I reckon that there’s a few things that I could do that would make you work faster.”

“You’re making me take longer because now I’m focusing on you and not my work,” you told him, “the longer you distract me Sanha.”

His shoulders shrugged back at you, “it’s a sign that you should leave work for now.”

“I’ve got to get this done,” you frowned, finding yourself being pulled in two different directions. “You can’t do this to me, I don’t disturb you when you’re at work.”

“I guess I just want to be with you.”

“Fine, this can be saved for later.”

This is what they call love. But if stalking and obsessing towards someone is their own love, can you really call that love? No one knows. After all, no one knows the depth of a crazy sea.

Notes: Me and my friend made this for our creative writing class and it’s in short chapters. Btw if the writing style is so much better than my solo works, it’s bc my friend is 100x better in story writing.
