Shinsei Kamettechan's performance of Noko's theme "My War" would be EXCELLENT in an amv for my jjba x the legend of zelda: breath of the wild AU.
Hell, what I would give to see an opening like AoT's 4th season part 1 but with Zelda, King Rhoam, the Zeppelis, the Hylian knights, and the Joestars fighting legions of guardians.
And at the end of the opening, the camera focuses in on a mound of guardian stalker carcasses, giving an ominous air as it focuses on the head of a guardian stalker caked over in Calamity DIO's malice.

The Triforce of Power split into two and went to their rightful owners (Dio and Diego).
The Triforce of Wisdom split into three and went to their rightful owners (Caesar, Gyro, and Mela).
The Triforce of Courage split into nine and went to their rightful owners (the JoJos).

Diego’s possession of the Triforce of Power allows him to shift into a dinosaur with raw power and athletic ability.
Gyro draws upon the power of nature to use the Triforce of Wisdom and hid it there, out of Diego’s reach.
Johnny had lost himself, but when he found himself, matured, the Triforce of Courage was there in his spirit.

*rings bell* time for despair!
Anyway, I’m writing this crossover AU of jjba x The legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (excellent game btw), and in which, Gyro and Johnny are married and have been so for a year or so...when tragedy strikes. All of the JoJos and Zeppelis are preparing to fight against a great monster called Calamity DIO, and when the day comes for DIO’s arrival, well, the unthinkable happened. You see, the Zeppelis had studied these machines called guardians which are autonomous robots designed specifically to fight Calamity DIO, but DIO pulls a fast one and takes them over. Now at the helm of controlling the guardians, DIO pursues the fleeing JoJos and their comrades with an army of mechanical soldiers.
A couple of them ambush Johnny and Gyro, who are covering for the others to escape, and in a single moment, multiple guardians fire their beams of light that strike and fatally wound Johnny. He doesn’t die immediately; instead, he’s tossed into a river and off of his horse, so Gyro fishes him out and pulls him onto the land. Despite also being a doctor in this AU, Gyro quickly realized that he could do nothing to tend to Johnny’s wounds--they were too severe, he hardly had any equipment on him to deal with burns and gashes digging trenches into his legs and abdomen. And so, the only thing he could do was talk to Johnny to keep him awake, but the Joestar steadily faded in his arms.
..If it’s a comfort, the last thing that Johnny heard and saw was Gyro, and what better way to die than in the arms of your dearest friend?
During the next 100 years, Gyro found it hard to move on after Johnny’s passing. He even wears the same wedding ring that Johnny had slid onto his finger a lifetime ago. Well, most of the time. Admittedly, the lonely nights got to him, and when he wasn’t resigning himself to a night of drinking or researching, he had flings with different men and women here and there to fill the gap. While it provided some relief from the cold nights, he felt the same every morning after: empty. He simply could not find a reprieve from his grief, even when he visits Johnny’s grave whenever he arrives or departs from their home village.
What drives Gyro now is his insatiable desire for vengeance on the guardians for taking away the love of his life. He vowed that he would see Calamity DIO fall at his feet. For his late husband.
He would do it for Johnny.

Sometimes, Gyro calls Johnny by little pet names in Italian when he feels particularly affectionate or just playful. And he can tell that Johnny likes it when his voice becomes low and smoothly caresses he ears. He can tell because he sees the way Johnny's ears flush with all the attention.
He calls Johnny "tesoro" which means "treasure" or "darling" and sometimes "tesoro mio" (my darling) to comfort him when they hide from the onslaught of guardians on their journey to Fort Hateno.

Ok so, I'm hoping that BOTW2 delves into more of Hyrule's dark and bloodied past. I was thinking of an explanation of the Zonai's disappearance and how that could be related to BOTW2, and I think the Zonai and the Sheikah were allies at one point. But since the king of Hyrule 10,000 years ago feared the power of the Sheikah Relics, he ordered his soldiers to exterminate the Zonai and make examples out of them to force the Sheikah into compliance. "If you refuse to relinquish those machines, this will happen to you," he would order. And the Sheikah, fearing for their lives, had no choice but to comply.
And since I'm in the middle of writing chapter 7 for this jjbaxzelda AU, I imagine that the bond between the Zeppelis and the Joestars goes *way* back to 10,000 years ago. Jodie Joestar, the original Joestar hero who slew the Calamity 10,000 years ago, was part of the Zonai tribe, and Mela Aspesi Zeppeli was a Sheikah studying to become a monk. The two were friends, lovers even since they expressed romantic affection to each other from time to time, but the king divided them by taking Jodie out of her home and forcing her to fight the Calamity. Afterwards, when Jodie tried to return to Faron Woods where her tribe lived, the king ordered his attack and wiped out nearly all of them. And she witnessed this horror as Hyrulean soldiers held her back.
The point here is that event caused her to harbor malice in her heart for the Hylians which persisted across time and used by Calamity DIO of the present against Hyrule. Even now, Jocelyn feels malice towards the king of their time for rounding up them and the other Jojo's and forcing them to fight hordes of monsters only for their kin to be wiped out. It's history repeating itself.
And this stems from Demise's curse/warning to the skyloftians before he was defeated. He warned that if they and their descendants harbored malice in their hearts, they would be plagued by it over and over again. This is a warning of Dio's evil that would come to destroy Hyrule because Dio's malice persists when the Hylians harbor their own malice and hatred.

Ok but I had a quick cute thought: I was thinking of the scenario in which one of Mela’s young kids expressed that they wanted to be the next chief engineer of the Zeppeli family after their mother because they admired her so much for her hard work. It please Mela to hear that.

10,000 years ago before Calamity DIO had emerged, Mela and Jodie have secret meet-ups in the Faron Jungle where they can truly be themselves and spend quality time with each other.
Mela, walking through the thick Faron Jungle: Oh, Jodie. My Jodie. Where are you now? I miss you to the point of madness.
Jodie, tripping on a huge root and faceplanting into a bush of flowers: *pops out of the flowers in front of Mela* Present!

Chapter 3: The Siege of Fort Hateno
Summary:
On Hyrule's darkest day, Princess Zelda, desperate to awaken her dormant sealing powers, stands her ground against Calamity DIO's encroaching forces. Her troops, however, buckle underneath DIO's pressure, and morale is fading fast. With Hyrule Castle lost, Joestar blood spilt, and the remaining Hyrulean forces corralled ever farther to the northeast reaches of the periled kingdom, the future of her people grew bleak. In the eleventh hour, the surviving Hyrulean forces hold the line at Fort Hateno and pray for a miracle to happen.
Chapter 3 is here! Finally! I’d appreciate it if y’all could give it a read and offer some constructive feedback, per favore. This chapter features graphic descriptions of violence and gore and so it, and the fic as a whole, has been rated M.
Personally, I kinda liked writing this chapter even though it ripped out part of my heart, haha. I didn’t think I could pull off writing fighting scenes very well, but I think it’s acceptable. Ofc it’s based a lot off of that one mission in Age of Calamity called “The Siege of Fort Hateno” because it’s Hyrule’s most dire hour. All I can say now is uuuhhhhhh poor Gyro...

ok but just----
hear me out alright---
Johnny and Gyro cozying up with each other next to a campfire underneath a starring night sky in the middle of the Gerudo Desert. The desert nights are notoriously cold, so they brought blankets with them. Johnny rests his head on Gyro’s chest and promptly dozes off not much longer after Gyro in the pitch black ambience around them.

Idk man, I’m thinking that Joseph could’ve died in the Colosseum where he was trapped and forced to fight hordes of enemies when the gate closed. Caesar was stuck outside and couldn’t find a way in, and when Joseph was speared and stabbed over and over again, it was too late to save him, and so he had to run away and preserve his own life.
This flashes back to him when he visits the ruined Colosseum 100 years later with Gyro and Jocelyn with the mission of putting Jocelyn through another so-called “Zeppeli Trial” in which Jocelyn has to defeat the lynel and the other monsters and collect their elemental weapons for their next lesson. The gate at this time had been completely destroyed and removed, and while Gyro and Caesar argue about the trial (Caesar relives that moment he saw Joseph die and refuses to see Jocelyn suffer the same fate), Jocelyn just strooooooolls into the Colosseum and faces down the lynel.
It’s nerve-wracking but reassuring when they see Jocelyn take down the lynel and climb the steps to take out the audience of monsters. Caesar and Gyro follow close behind to be the “Zeppeli safety net” if things go sour, but fortunately, Jocelyn takes their time and clears the Colosseum of all monsters, collects their elemental weapons, and drops them at the Zeppelis’ feet.

"A Girl Named Malice"
You know how in the OG JoJo universe, Dio steals Jonathan's body and presumably his powers too because in part 3 he can use two stands? Then he goes on to terrorize the Joestars? Well, a similar thing happens in this jjbaxbotw AU! Except it's not Jonathan who suffers now: it's Jodie.
When rounded up by King Rhoam and given an explanation of their role in the fight against the Calamity, the Joestar fam learned of their distant ancestor, Jodie Joestar, who lived 10,000 years ago and defeated Calamity DIO. She was from a barbaric tribe originally and after the Calamity of her time, she was forced to assimilate into Hyrulean society, regardless if she wanted to or not. Consequently, her village in the jungle was burned and many of her people were slaughtered by the Hyrulean army, which caused malice to fester within her heart. Calamity DIO is a force that thrives upon lingering feelings of malice and resentment within the kingdom, and the outpouring of these horrible emotions and pain from Jodie was enough to transform the Calamity and develop Malice, that weird sticky swamp-like substance that can melt flesh off of bone.
Like her descendants chosen to fight the return of the Calamity, Jodie was a stand user, and her stand, [BADFLOWER], was based upon fungi. While it did not have a humanoid form like her descendants, the stand completely healed her wounds, regenerated lost limbs, and erupted from her skin as tendrils to whip and lash the opponent. Sometimes she saw those tendrils move and slither just underneath her skin. The stand also released spores on occasion to infect others, either mutating them or enhancing their own stand abilities while simultaneously killing them. Many times, the stand acted upon its own will.
The festering feelings of bitterness and resentment changed Jodie to reject Hyrulean unity, which caught DIO's attention. Over time, the Calamity had influenced Jodie's stand to evolve into something more lethal, and by the time Jodie had died, [BADFLOWER] had fused with the Calamity to create Malice, a dangerous substance that consumes all who go near it at a whim and absorbs the victim's body.
So in a way, when the Joestars attack and fight Calamity DIO, they attack, in part, their distant ancestor Jodie.

@oreocookiezzz I wanted to share something funny with you:
So in this jjbaxbotw AU I'm writing (It's called "Life in the Wild" on Ao3 by DiscoTrain), there's a place called Gerudo Town in the middle of the desert where a women only tribe of warriors live. They have a very strict law: absolutely no men are allowed in the town, be they Hylian or other. (Of course, there's some bizarre exceptions when it comes to the Gorons but that's for another post)
So, Gyro is faced with a problem: he needs to get into Gerudo Town to speak with the chief of the Gerudo, but because of this law, he'll be thrown out as soon as the guards at the entrances to town spot him. So, he comes up with a plan: he'll disguise himself as a woman! Traditional Gerudo women garb is pretty drapy, so the pants will hide his more masculine features, and as for the bra-like top, he stuffs some hydromelons (essentially watermelons) in there to make it look lile rotund breasts. Lastly, he wears a veil to cover his face and beard from the nose down, so others only see his eyes, and his longer hair helps him here too. Of course, he's still got his buff arms and hairy chest/abdomen, but these facts are glossed over by the Gerudo for they too are very buff and some of them sport heavier body hair than what is typically seen on a Hylian woman.
The disguise works! He slips in under the guise of a woman and begins to do some detective work on figuring out how to have an audience with the chief. At this time, the hero of the story--Jocelyn Jones--is nonbinary and AFAB, which makes them sometimes mistaken for a woman. So Jocelyn is allowed entry into Gerudo Town, no problem. So, while Jocelyn travels around the bazaar, they find this familiar looking woman running away down a back alley after a melon rolls away from them. Jocelyn pursues this woman into a secret shop on a quiet street and finds that it was actually Gyro seeking shelter after losing one of the melons making up his "breasts." It turns out that he knew the shopkeeper and sometime ago had romantic relations with her. They called off this fling long ago but still kept friendly with each other, so she agreed to offer him safe harbor in her shop.
