Imagine getting into a nasty altercation with Rafe, when you're out on the cut one day. The next day you bump into Rafe super drunk and hurt on your way home from the Chateau that night. You get home and your Mom tells you let him sleep in the guest bedroom, he'll sober up and get himself home in the morning.

You end up getting a sleepy mumbled apology from him about the day before. When you go check on him the next morning he's gone.

The next evening you hear someone at your door late at night, your mom's fast asleep so you grab a knife and slowly open the door to find a crying Rafe, he has fresh cuts on his face.

"I didn't know where else to go."

You didn't ask any questions just leading him to the same room he slept in the night before. As you're leaving he grabs your wrists and begs you to stay. You put up a fight but eventually you give in.

You spend the whole night cuddling and you can feel him pulling you even closer.

aight friends, christmas is exactly a week away! im gonna give myself a personal challenge where i write at least one christmas/winter related prompt for an otp every day up until christmas.

ive never fully completed one of these before so im trying to pull through this time! trying to get back on my writing zoom yk

i hate how queer people are always the butt of the joke when we analyse potential queer characters/ships and people say “y’all are desperate. y’all reading to much into it. it’s embarrassing, not everything is queer. not everything has a meaning” and then they go on and start writing 50k fanfics for a men and a woman that smiled at each other in one episode.

so many queer ships in fandom would be canon if it where a couple of the opposite gender and y’all know it.

i want y’all to think about famous (non-canon) ships, think about their scenes together and then imagine a men and a woman. all of them would be canon (or at least kissed once)

My OBX3 Rant

So, it’s been a few days since the season 3 trailer for Outer Banks came out, and I’m irritated and scared for the fate of this show. Netflix is notorious for having a great show turn to crap around the 3rd and 4th season. I fear that Outer Banks will become a hot mess.

Like don’t get me wrong, visually the trailer was really appealing, and some of the storylines were intriguing, but overall I’m concerned for a few reasons:

1. This show is so heterosexual. Like there aren’t even side characters that are apart of the LGBTQ+ community. Like be foreal, a friend group with all straight folks....hmmm just doesn’t seem that realistic. Like, the writers are telling me Cleo is, checks notes, straight? Like sister was all over Sarah in season 2, “Sarah, my girl,” ring any bells?

Also, Kie, definitely doesn’t like men, because when John B kissed her, she immediately was thrown off. Then she gets with Pope, and after having sex with him, she literally said “that didn’t feel like it should’ve, like no fireworks, etc.” I just feel like that’s room for her to open up and explore her sexuality. The whole Kie and Sarah friendship, turned enemies back to friendship, would’ve been so cute if they had a fling their freshmen year, but Sarah didn’t want others to know about her and Kie, so that’s why they ended their friendship in the first place. I just think having Kie being passed around her friend group just pisses me off and the lack of her story line also pisses me off.

Lastly, for this point, I am a JJPope stan, so I want JJ and Pope to be together, they just have so much more chemistry, but even if they don’t get together, I need Kie to be with a girl. This show is just so STRAIGHT, like BFFR.

2. I’m mad they keep bringing folks back from the died, but not Sheriff Peterkin..like if anyone should be brought back it’s her, not Ward. I love that John B is gonna reunite with his dad, and that scene that was shown is gonna be heartbreaking, but I’m mad they one, showed it in the trailer, and two, made that a little predictable. Like I know we saw him at the very end of season 2′s finale, but I thought it was a flashback, I was very wrong.

3. I want Cleo to have a good story line, not just the token Black girl, and I know the writers have Pope and Cleo lined up to get together, and I wouldn’t be upset at that, but I need it to be NATURAL, slow burn if you will. I don’t think Cleo likes boys, like she just doesn’t give me that, and it’d be nice to have her and Pope be a bestie duo. But on the flip side, I do love the black love representation, I just don’t know if the writers will even do that storyline justice.

4. I need all of the Pogues to get rest. Like these folks haven’t showered nor rested for 2 seasons, and then this one looks like it’ll be nonstop. Like Sarah needs to rid herself of her family, and save Wheezie. Justice for Wheezie. Like that scene with Topper, I wanted to vomit. I know it’s most likely a flashback, but I don’t wanna see that. He’s a weirdo and folks keep wanting to give him a redemption arc. JJ needs rest, I wish he’d stayed with the Heywards. I hope we see his anxiety being addressed this season. John B needs a break too, like please let this man rest.

5. Rafe and Ward need to DIE, or get thrown in prison and throw away the key. PERIOD, he doesn’t need a love story, nor a redemption arc.

6. Why are they solving ANOTHER mystery? I know that’s the plot of the show at this point, but they haven’t even gotten the gold or the cross. Like moving onto another mystery...really?

I know this rant may not seem like I’m excited for this season, I am, but I’m scared for the outcome. Also, this shows lack of representation is concerning. The fact that the directors are feeding into the fan service is also telling of what the show can end of being in the future.

But that’s the end of my rant, I’ll just be reading OBX fanfics.

just wait until season 5 where its revealed that jj and pope have been going at it behind kies back jjpope endgame will happen!

Please no more cheating storylines (the John B/Sarah/Topper situation was already too much). Kie and Cleo don't deserve that and it would ruin jjpope for me. I would read that plot in a fanfic though.

Honestly, I just want Kie to have a storyline that doesn't involve boys and her parents. She has so much potential to be a great character. The writers stay doing her dirty.

As for jjpope, they give me slowburn childhood friends to lovers. I know a lot of jjpope shippers lost hope last season, but the show isn't over. Anything can happen. I also thought it was weird that the Pates revealed J*ara and Popecleo (which I love) in interviews before season 3 ever aired. I've never heard of a showrunner doing that before. Like don't you want the audience to be surprised? No way did they plan for this show to have six seasons and you already have all of endgame couples together half-way through. I have a lot more to say but I'll just leave it at that.

“Top of head kisses”

Pope rubs a hand over his face in an attempt to rub away the tiredness he feels. It’s been a long day at work, called in for a particularly gruesome murder that kept him long past his normal hours in an attempt to find a cause of death. It left him in the office well past dinner and bedtime, a time he cherishes with JJ.

With a flick of the lock, he drops his bag on the ground next to the door and hangs up his coat. It’s a bit chilly in the house, a shiver running down his spine as he kicks off his winter boots. He can’t wait to curl up in bed with JJ, not even caring to bother with dinner as he bypasses the kitchen.

He pauses when he catches sight of a head of blond hair over the back of the couch, the soft snores catching his attention when he listens a bit closer. The sight that greets him when he steps around their small couch has a smile tugging up his lips and he can’t help but lean forward to press a kiss to JJ’s messy head of hair, finger running through his blond locks just like he likes.

“JJ, baby,” Pope whispers, sitting on the small coffee table. It wobbles a bit under him, a yard sale find that cost them a few dollars because the owners just wanted it out. They’re still saving money and they try to find what they can for as little as they can. They don’t need much and Pope thinks that’s because they have each other even if it’s probably the cheesiest thing he’s ever thought. “It’s time to head up to bed.”

The book open in his lap threatens to fall and Pope is quick to mark the page and set the book aside, pride swelling in his chest when he notices it’s JJ’s school book. The business classes he’s taking in hopes to lead to his dream of opening his own mechanic shop. Pope always makes sure JJ knows how proud he is that JJ decided to pursue classes. It still makes him so happy to see how much this man has grown. It makes Pope’s heart swell with happiness.

“Hm, Pope,” JJ mutters, blue eyes blinking open. He looks tired, worn out from his extra hours at the shop and his classes this semester. “How was work?” he yawns, making grabby hands. Pope’s laugh is quiet as he takes the outstretched hands, pulling JJ from the couch until he’s securely in Pope’s arms, face nuzzling into Pope’s neck.

“It was long,” Pope answers, pressing another kiss to JJ’s hair. “I missed you.” It was going to be one of their only nights together this week and now it was gone, midnight flashing across the clock, taunting him that he missed this time with JJ.

“Not workin’ this weekend,” JJ answers, pressing a kiss to Pope’s neck. “We can make up for it.” They definitely will, but JJ didn’t usually get the weekends, at least not the whole weekend as the newbie at the shop.

“The whole weekend?” Pope confirms, hope blooming in his chest. It may be last minute, but they could go up north, enjoy some snowboarding or just a nice cozy night in a bed and breakfast. Pope’s been putting a bit of money aside for something special and this might be it.

“I asked because it’s been ages since I've seen you for more than a few minutes,” JJ mumbles, pulling away so he can meet Pope’s dark eyes. Pope didn’t think he could love this man any more than he already did, but JJ is always proving him wrong.

“Let’s make a weekend of it,” Pope smiles, leaning forward to press a kiss to his lips. He couldn’t ask for a better boyfriend, thinking instantly of the ring sitting in his bedroom. This might just be the weekend to ask JJ. “But we can talk about it in the moring, you’re falling asleep on me.” And he is, blue eyes blinking closed like he is trying to force himself to stay awake. “Let’s head to bed.”

JJ merely grumbles as Pope leads him to their bedroom, allowing himself to press another kiss to JJ’s head as he curls up against his chest for the night.

It's that small thing, slowly stumbling to find out you're in love with your best friend. It's an intricate and a complex thing for Pope, JJ understands it with ease.

5 Times JJ and Pope gets closer and closer to discover what they mean to each other, and one time after it happens.

Something overcomes him because Pope reaches out to grasp his wrist before JJ can leave, like his body is acting on its own accord. He looks at him, right at his face. There’s the cut on his lips, that little stubble on his chin, his nose. The place on his cheek where his dimples would be. Pope would be able to lay him out like a map, fingers finding the topography of him, right through his calloused hands, green hills, and his very heart.

And Pope thinks: Oh.

I’ve been in love with you this whole time.
