Wing hcs for the seven (+reyna and nico). Because I got bored and they should have wings.

Jason- Swan. Specifically the wings of a trumpeter swan. Large, majestic, maybe a little tragic, pure white and just benefiting of a son of Jupiter and praetor of the legion. He probably spends hours after battle grooming the blood/monster dust/dirt out of them and it’s one hell of a self soothing habit by that point.

Piper- White-Tailed Kite. She’s probably the fastest of the seven, constantly has people asking if she’s got dove wings and it’s lowkey grating on her nerves. It’s a kite, not a glorified pigeon thank you very much. Her and Jason will take turns grooming each other’s feathers though, and it’s lovely bonding time for them both.

Leo- Common Raven. Either signifying knowledge/innovation or the burden of being omened by death, your choice. Who am I kidding, he definitely sees them as bad luck. Clipped on one side from a foster home or possibly when he had a runaway attempt from wilderness camp. Rarely has them out, and stress tears out his own feathers.

Annabeth- Barn Swallow. Kind of plain, but she just lies half the time and says that she’s got owl feathers. Post Mark of Athena, she’s more proud of them and her place among her peers with more exotic wings. Also Percy’s the only person with blanket permission to touch and groom her feathers. Also has a stress tearing issue, but her siblings and partner are good at catching her before she can damage herself too badly.

Percy- Common Kingfisher. Still good for flight, but also allows him to dive and hit the water without worrying about not being able to surface afterwards due to being waterlogged. Bit redundant since he can dry himself off anyway thanks to Poseidon powers but the point still stands. Plus, they’re blue and he’s absolutely chuffed that they are.

Frank- *insert american bald eagle jokes* jkjk. Red-Tailed Hawk. Although he didn’t get his adult feathers until he unlocked his shapeshifter abilities and matured there. He can also change his wings to different ones when he concentrates but it always feels a touch off, so he sticks with the wings he was born with.

Hazel- Golden-Winged Sunbird. Pretty! Unique! Gave her a lot of shit for it in her first life because of course the cursed girl with the death jewels had gold wings. She’s gotten alot more comfortable with having them since meeting Frank and Nico though.

Bonus!

Reyna- Hispanionlan Amazon. Yes, the green clashes with the purple of her praetor cloak. No, that will not stop her from still wearing it. Her and Hylla’s wings match, although Hylla dyes her feathers black in an attempt to seem more intimidating. Reyna tried once and decided that she preferred the original coloring of her wings.

Nico- Cinereous Vulture. Go look up photos, trust me. Absolute wet cat of a bird. Plus honor and respect in death, and like a vulture, Nico is also a scavenger. His wings are missing feathers from neglecting to groom them + the amount of time he’s spent nomadic. Living at camp full time is helping with the feather regrowth however.

they’re all married

jess is miles’ other mom (because i say so)

miles’ jess and jeff’s child

billie’s jess and rio’s child

jada’s jess and rio’s another child

they’re a happy family

miles, as the oldest, is protective of his baby sisters.

jada n billie always ask for miles as much as he plays with them

jada is a february baby

miles (canonical but i’m addin it away) is a august baby

billie’s a june baby (idk her canon birthday but late june - early may seems right for her)

jada has 4c hair, billie has 3b hair n miles has 4a-4b hair

all of them except for jada are tenderheaded

they all have thick hair tho

jada’s clinger with jess than with any of her other parents (rio fake pouts about this because “my baby doesn’t spend as much time with me!”, the two women laugh it off tho, lil jay’s left oblivious)

the babies are a year apart, jada’s the youngest.

since miles is 13-14 years older than the babies, he likes to act like they’re his babies.

jess is trusted with the kids’ hair most days because of rio’s work schedule and jeff can’t braid.

rio and jess mostly speak spanish amongst themselves and the kids, jeff is left out convos most times but he doesn’t care too much as his wives are just so beautiful when they speak spanish.

rio is transfem (to me 😭😭) and her partners are widely supportive, she began to transition once miles was born.

(if we’re talkin bout transfem miles) rio would be absolutely estatic once she told her that she feels more of a girl than a boy (transfem genderfluid miles has my heart 🫶🏽) she still dresses ‘masculine’ and uses her name n he/him pronouns (genderfluidity at its finest, can you tell i’m slightly projectin?)

jess and jeff would be excited as well, they’d have a party n everythin (he would be shocked how all out they went from her)

hobie comes over from time to time to see billie and jada, jada’s his favorite (jkjk, they’re both so lovable)

(punkflower thingy) once rio, jess and jeff heard about miles dating hobie, i’d say jess was the most accepting. she loves the kid, he kinda reminds her of herself so obviously her favorite boyfriend of miles’ (the only one *cough*)

(miles and miles 42 as twins) miles is older by 10 minutes, myle gotta big head and miles would tease him relentlessly about it when jess told them the birth stories. (actually i’mma add this to the au !!!)

myle n jada just clicked when she was born, same with miles n billie but they all love each other equally (or do they? /j)

(au where miles’ spider man and myle’s the prowler) they didn’t know about their secret identities until they went home one night and found each other in their suits. there was a lot of questioning after.

(punkflowerbyte au) jess was really happy when she heard that her son’s dating a black girl (let’s be so honest, black queen’s his type fam) along with his childhood friend who she loves like a son. she was really keen on getting to meet margo, the two hit it off instantly and they’re like best friends (miles sometimes jokes how his momma stole his girl, hobie agrees)

Guys I am on the edge I am losing it. I haven’t written fanfiction since freshmen year of high school, since then I’ve said all my writing will be publishable. And yet I am mere seconds away from losing myself to a Sully family adopting Spider fic what is wrong with me. The chokehold this series has on me. Anyways here are some headcanons that have been giving me holes in my brain:

-All the Sully's constantly argue over who Spider likes best, especially Kiri and Lo'ak. "That's my best friend" "NO, that's my best friend." "I knew him first." "Well, that's not fair you were born first. I've known him my whole life." Then dark horses Tuk and Neteyam come in like "You'd be surprised to learn spider actually likes me best." For a while after Tuk was born the competition was HEAVILY in her favor and everyone was mad about it. Neteyam doesn’t participate unless he wants to annoy someone, but no one thinks he’s in the running as much as he actually is. Spider has no idea this competition exists and whoever tells him is instantly disqualified so he never will.

-This shit absolutely applies to Jake and Neytiri too if/when they officially adopt him. Which parent Spider likes best competition. Who can get him to call them mom/dad first wins. It’s absolutely RUTHLESS and everyone knows about it except Spider. I’m fairly certain Jake and Neytiri’s love language is borderline unhealthy competition. Bets are made, sabotage is attempted, Tonowari definitely tries to help his bestie Jake and whatever plan they come up with is dumb as hell, I don’t know what it is but it’s stupid. Ultimately, Neytiri wins. Jake is not sad about it actually.

-Tuk is every parents worst nightmare. Her siblings are so much older than her, she has been desensitized to everything. When Lo’ak and Kiri were Tuk’s age they were fighting over a toy, but Tuk is pretty sure she’s ready for an Ikran. She is the ringleader of all her friendgroups and she can manipulate anyone into anything. She was the youngest to do everything in her family just to keep up with her siblings, and that means she knows so much more than all her friends her age. She taught them all the swear words they know, and she definitely told every child in the clan how babies are made as soon as Lo’ak told her and they were ALL way too young to know.

-The entire clan is worried Jake and Neytiri will have another accident child. Only they were surprised by Tuk, no one else was.

-Neteyam confides in Spider in a way he can’t with his siblings. Not only are they the oldest, but I think he isn’t afraid to not be perfect in front of Spider (This is why Neteyam is Spider’s favorite jkjk). I think they have a lot of chill talks up on the mountains, or they go flying and Neteyam’s just like “What if I fail at the hunt tomorrow?” or some shit and Spiders like “Well, it would be about time, and then you would just try again.”

-Spider is Mo’at’s least problematic grandchild, and the one that annoys her the least consistently. Kiri is still her fav tho. There is no Mo’at’s fav competition because everyone knows Kiri would win, but sometimes Lo’ak says he’s her fav because their names are similar and then everyone calls him stupid.

-Speaking of Mo’at, I’m pretty sure her and Jake get drunk together at least once a month. I don’t know what they talk about but GOD I want to. Only Norm has ever been invited and that was like one time and it’s because he and Mo’at are secret besties.

-Spider gives the best advice ever, because of being the only human child on Pandora he has empathy for everyone. He’s the best person to go to if you did something wrong because he’s for sure done something worse. Unfortunately he is incapable of taking any advice himself, and he is def suicidal a lil. You cannot convince me that kid doesn’t wake up every day wanting to die a little bit.

-For a solid half a year certified dumbasses Lo’ak and Jake were pretty sure Rotxo was some sort of spirit from Eywa because they never met his parents and never saw him go home and he was always somehow around. They shared this theory with no one but each other, which is good because it’s dumb.

-I think once adopted, Spider is a mama’s boy. He craves physical attention and he has been raised essentially Na’vi in a way that Jake hasn’t. I think he would connect with Neytiri’s parenting style more, I think they’d do a lot of weird shit together that the other kids would rather die than help with, like cooking or mending shit. I think Spider would be literally delighted to help with boring household chores with his mother and that’s so mamas boy of him. He’s a “mother, do you need help with dinner, can I do the dishes so you can sit down?” kid while all the rest of them are gagging and calling him a suck up in the background.

-It comes to a head when he tries to help make lunch instead of going surfing with Lo’ak, Kiri, and Ao’nung, and they have to have an intervention. It’s very serious, everyone was there, Tsireya, Ao’nung, Rotxo obviously came because I’m convinced he doesn’t actually have a home. They treat Spider like a five year old going to his first day of preschool.

-Spider and Neytiri also both have experienced such immense loss, and it shaped them both so much at such a young age. I think the way they would talk about it would be similar, and it would be a connection discovered that wouldn’t be vocally acknowledged often but they would both have that. It’s a mutual understanding that the others can’t get as much that helps them get past any animosity and fear. It takes them longer to get to casual conversation actually.

-If Spider ever got an Avatar Mo’at would make them put off the full transfer until he was older 50% because of his safety and 90% because he’s forced to spend time with her every night when he goes back to his human body no matter where they are. She is vocally grumbling always about how her family never visits. He does not pretend to hate it.

-It started out because Spider wasn’t taking care of his human body well enough, for sure. He’s Jake coded. Mo’at was on Feed New Grandson For Daughter duty. But now it evolved and he’s popping out of the link after a long day of Spearfishing with the Boys (I believe this is Tonowari and Jake’s fav father/son + Rotxo bonding activity) and Mo’at is there with Norm and Spider’s dinner like “you will not believe what this idiot warrior did” and Norms like “Do tell” and Spider has his second dinner with the HOTTEST TEA in the Omaticaya camp that Norm and Mo’at can spill. And one time he’s like “Lo’ak fell off a tree today because he’s too used to the water now” and then when Lo’ak finds out about that he pushes Spider out of a tree (from a safe height).

-(He has to recount this tea the next morning to Jake, this is what he and Mo’at did when drinking, he pretends he wants to be up on current affairs in his former tribe but Jake Sully is a gossip whore and he isn’t hiding it well).

-No one else is interested in this but Lo’ak. He cares so much. It’s Spider spilling the hottest tea with so much disinterest (he only cares because it’s Mo’at and Norm) and Lo’ak and Jake like gasping and then pretending they didn’t.

-Obviously Kiri and Spider’s bond is insane and unbreakable but I think one time he stepped on a bug and she didn’t speak to him for the entire day. He probably has nightmares about that day. But also Lo’ak did the same thing once and she didn’t talk to him for a week so.

-I like to think the rest of the Omaticaya do love Spider cause he’s just that weird little guy that’s always like crouched on the rocks and in the trees and shit. I think he and the Sully’s do have other friends and do spend time with others, but Spider, Kiri, Lo’ak, and then later Tuk, all spend literally every waking moment together because they all can’t escape that little feeling that they don’t quite fit in.

-Tuk doesn’t feel this way she just wants to be there. Neteyam totally feels this way he just feels like he has to be responsible.

-Neteyam also spent every waking moment with them until he had Adult Business to attend to, like learning to be in charge. Now he just spends all his free time with them. His friends are probably like “Why do you want to spend all your time with your little siblings?” and he has Vietnam flashbacks to the 17 things that Lo’ak and Spider did that almost got them killed that week alone (but also he loves being with them all).

-When the Sully’s leave Mo’at is really sad but Norm visits her annoyingly for weird advice that he doesn’t actually need every day and she pretends to hate it but doesn’t because they are secret buddies.

-Idk if this even happens to Na’vi but Neteyam’s human dna finds a way and he goes prematurely grey for sure. Kids so stressed it’s a miracle he doesn’t go into cardiac arrest.

-Tonowari and Ronal literally don’t know where Rotxo comes from half the time. He’s just always there. One time when Ao’nung was a baby Tonowari turned around for like 15 seconds to stoke the fire and then there were two babies, Ao’nung and Rotxo, on the mat.

-Lo’ak doesn’t think things through. Spider has no self preservation skills. There is a difference. So when Lo’ak suggests a dumb thing Spider will probably do it first cause he has recognized and acknowledged the risks, he just doesn’t care, whereas Lo’ak hasn’t realized yet. So he’ll test it out for Lo’ak first. The amount of dumb shit Lo’ak did went way up when Spider was captured because his human test dummy wasn’t there.

-Once with the Metkayina, Spider and Lo’ak have found a kindred dumbass in Ao’nung (+ Rotxo). He’s never thought a single decision through in his entire life (neither has Rotxo, he’s just here to vibe). They are menaces.

-Unfortunately for everyone, Jake and Tonowari created them from their own very loins, and they too, are dumbasses. If the RDA ever leave them alone the amount of bad decisions the five of them (and Rotxo) will get up to will be astronomical. There’s at least one incident that gets Jake and Tonowari exiled from their respective marui for the night and they have an Adult Men sleepover on the beach that is like the most fun either of them ever had, but they pretend it was no fun at all when they come back.

-After that Tonowari replaces Mo’at as Jake’s monthly drinking/gossip buddy. Tonowari has never met most of the Omaticayans, but he could ruin lives with some of the info he has.

-This one might be out of left field, but I think every single Sully child has had a crush to varying degrees on Spider at some point. I think Spider has never even remotely fathomed that anyone on planet Pandora has ever or will ever like him, and if anyone ever did he might just die of shock. He thinks he’s dying a virgin, probably at a young age.

-Ronal and Neytiri go on pretending to hate each other long after they became friends just for fun. No one figured it out until Neytiri was the first choice babysitter for Ronal and Tonowari’s new baby for like the tenth time.

-If Spider ever beats anyone at anything he believes they let him win and literally nothing can change his mind. He’s convinced baby Tuk let him win in a foot race one time, and that Lo’ak fell out of a tree on purpose to let him win a climbing race. The most criminal one is his claim that Ao’nung got a hole in his net intentionally so all his fish escaped and Spider had more. The joke is that no one other than Neteyam or Tsireya would ever let him win.

-The amount of times a Sully child accidentally dislocated Spider’s arm trying to pull him somewhere is way higher than anyone wants to admit, but Spider can now relocate his arm on his own like a pro. His pain tolerance is way higher than anyone’s should be. Kid just braces that shit against a tree and pops it back in and everyone is horrified every time. The first time it happened in front of the Metkayina kids Ao’nung threw up and then Lo’ak laughed until he cried. Spider shouldn’t use that arm for at least the rest of the day but he used it to shove Lo’ak for Ao’nung.

-Spider loves babies, will stop, drop everything to watch any baby, because he knows how much Na’vi treasure children and he never feels more important then when he gets to watch a little kid because he was trusted to keep the kid safe.

-Lo’ak and Spider are equally matched at sparring because Spider knows where Lo’ak is ticklish.

-One time Kiri and Lo’ak had a sleepover with Spider at the lab. Norm pretended to hate it but then let them sleep in the room with Grace’s tank and also made them cookies. It was the best night of Spider’s life. Tuk was too little to go and threw the most massive fit ever about it so Neteyam stayed back to keep her company and he was Very Mature and Not At All Jealous about it.

-They brought him back a cookie, and then everyone was tired all day because literally no one slept except for Tuk. They all took a nap halfway through the day all in a little puppy pile and that was the real sleepover.

-Post sleepover, the amount of printed out images of human Jake Sully from video logs with like dumb things drawn on him that have made their way around camp is insane. Norm made the kids draw mustaches on him for sure. Jake can’t take a single solitary step without there being a picture of him with a dick for a nose on a tent pole. He was probably stressed about something and this was Lo’ak’s brilliant Cheer Up Dad plan. It was the worst plan ever, but for some unknown reason it worked, and Jake keeps cackling at them like a crazy person when he sees them. Retaliatory Norm pics are in the works, Jake got all the kids in on it this time. Tuk is really good at drawing pa’li shit on Norm’s head.

-Neteyam knows everything about everyone so when he gets in on teasing and jokes his are fucking crazy accurate and targeted, you’ll never recover. Tuk has picked this up from him and she has that little kid talent to destroy you.

-Every single time someone goes somewhere Spider says some shit like “I hope I see you again!” and everyone knows it’s not a joke and no one finds it funny but he can’t stop doing it.

-The pact that was born between Ao’nung and Lo’ak to impress their respective love interests is the Fight Club of all pacts, either would kill the other to keep it quiet and not feel even a little bad about it. Lo’ak teaches Ao’nung to climb trees to impress Neteyam and Ao’nung teaches Lo’ak to surf to impress Tsireya. Ao’nung eats shit so hard that Lo’ak almost literally dies laughing but then Ao’nung doesn’t warn him about rip currents so he can rescue Lo’ak in front of Neteyam like he’s in Baywatch, coming out of the water all dramatically and with a lil hair flip and then presenting him with his half murdered little brother like a gift.

-The Sully children have been divvying up who gets what of Jake’s stuff when he dies since Tuk was like four. Obviously, they will be devastated, but it’ll be a little less sad when Kiri gets Jake’s coolest knife and not Lo’ak, or Tuk gets his best arm band before Neteyam can call dibs even tho it won’t fit her. It was a lot funnier before the RDA came back.

-No one has ever dared to do this to Neytiri’s stuff.

originally from denver, alvaro was into music from a very young age. as a teen, he was part of a fairly popular boy band called chains of fortune. by the time he was eighteen, alvaro and the band were touring around the world.

the fame and success was a lot for the young man to handle, but luckily, he had his bandmates to lean on. that didn’t stop the singer from partying and having a good time though, thoroughly enjoying the perks of being young and famous.

after a one night stand with a groupie during the band’s us tour, alvaro found out he was going to be a father. the baby’s mother didn’t want anything to do with being a mom and agreed to let alvaro raise their child on his own, and at the age of 20, he became a father.

after a couple more years with chains of fortune, the band decided to go their separate ways. alvaro quickly started working on a solo album. it was a hit, and he went on to have a successful solo career.

being a dad always came first to him though, only doing local shows and traveling to do us tours during the summertime when his son was out of school. despite his celebrity status, alvaro tried to keep life as normal as possible for the both of them.

as his son grew older, the singer got back into the dating scene. after a few failed relationships, he met a woman he thought was going to be the one for him. the two settled down in denver, and after a year of dating, alvaro proposed, and she said yes.

all was going well for the couple, or at least that’s what he thought. a few months into their engagement, alvaro woke up to find an empty bed and the engagement ring with a note form his fiancée saying that she was sorry. it wasn’t until months later that he heard from her again when she showed up heavily pregnant with twins - a boy and a girl.

alvaro’s ex fiancée admitted that she had run off when she had found out she was pregnant, unsure if she wanted to go through with the pregnancy. at the last minute though, she had changed her mind about wanting to raise the babies, which was why she had returned to tell alvaro about them.

a month later, the twins were born, who alvaro named esperanza and bastien. they are now almost two years old and are the lights of his life along with elder son.

alvaro’s currently working on another album and is looking forward to what the future holds for him and his family.

So- i was born at a very young age

Once upon a time~

....

I was born with a congenital heart and ig one day my mom thought i was gonna die bc they said i did not cry when I came out of the womb.

Ha. Look who's surviving now.

Anywhoooo my parents separated (i live in the philippines divorce is not an option so they separated instead but still married on paper. Just an important note for an extremely important part.) Before I could comprehend what even a sun is.

So the couple therapist era began.

Peer pressure to get them back together was an understatement. I was FIVE when they told me I was the "key" for them to reconcile. So I tried so hard to make my mother tell me why exactly they separated. Dad said she fell out of love so I tried so hard to make mom love him again. I guess we don't always get what we want.

I was so confused because things wouldn't go my way. I thought happy endings existed. Guess not.

So I start to grow up and go to grade school.

That was the trigger.

I was apparently the ugliest creature they've ever seen. Like, kids my age would run away from me when they see me wanting to play with them on the street. They would call me "ugly duckling" or something whenever I have to go up front.

And then, the real trigger was this.

Apparently my father also works on the school I was in, and these girls pulled up to me thinking I was rich, then started STEALING MY WALLET. How do six year olds know how to blackmail now?

When I don't give them what they want, they "punish" me by making me carry books on both of my hands and get me on my knees. Mind you, I cannot carry heavy things back then because *cough* inborn heart condition *cough*

I cried the first time after it was done to me.

That's what started my people-pleasing personality.

So long story short, I switch schools because it was fucked up.

AND THEEEEEEN 😍😍

The first few years were fine, the only issue that I was smart in the english subject.. and people only used me and pushed me around. They ignore me up until they need answers for english class. Stupid little me gave them what they wanted.

Haha.

Then another year. THE FUCKING BOMB.

I sit next to this girl in class.

We became bestfriends.

And then valentines day happened.

My very first kiss.

Was with her.

On valentines day because she thought it was funny.

But god-fucking-dammit.

It made me realize something about myself.

But I was still attracted to guys, so I thought I was straight. (Idk what bisexual was)

Then when I finally told them..

Remember the list of guys they made to "make me normal"?

..yeah.

They made a list of guys my age and wondered which one would make me stop liking girls.

My brain erased that memory for a while.. probably for a good reason.

OH! YOU THOUGHT IT WAS OVER??

BOOM.

Found out dad had a girlfriend. Didn't accept it at first, but she grew on me.

I WISHED SHE DIDNT!!

Because a month after my father died she called my mom a whore for having male friends. While SHE is the one moving on after five months to another guy with a lotta cash and stuff.

What's more effed up is that dad's siblings sided with her.

Also mind you, my biological parents are stil married on paper. So according to the law, she gets portion of dad's properties. The rest of em is mine and my brother's.

But NOOOOOO SHE STILL CALLED MY MOM A WHORE FOR STATING FACTS AND WANTED 500K FROM MY NOW DECEASED DAD

So long story short my broken family got a lot more broken. Yay!

I slept so late because I thought he might come and get me. Because he almost did. He almost pulled down my pants if I hadn't stopped pretending I was asleep. It could've almost been my first.

Then he starts watching explicit videos whenever he comes into my room. And he forces me to watch them.

Then he starts making eyes at me.. saying I've got a nice tiny little waist and everything..

Whenever I call him out on his shit he gaslights me. Every. Damn. Time.

He apologized to me by hugging me when I confronted him.. and while he was hugging me he.. he kissed my back? Without my consent?

I think.

I hyperventilated when he left after I pushed him off.

I started hinting at his wife about how he has the keys and she had NO idea.

So he finds the keys.

So me locking the doors..

It was all for nothing.

They all, including Val and Kai, know how to sew [to various degrees], as a life skill.

Define "unusual". Kendis and Andy both have a fear of loss; mainly via death. Val and Kendis both have a fear of -- I guess not being good enough. Mainly the closer you get the less you will like what you see. Val does have a sorta fear of falling short of Rook/ruining his legacy and, of course, abandonment. Kendis a -- sorta fear of imperfection; they hold themselves to unfair standards, in a sense, and even tend to lean in seeing themselves as inherently a bad person.

The other two are more normal/better at self regulating. I mean Pierre's past mistakes do weigh and he could lean into Kendis' issues territory but he is better at working with who he is now [and also doesn't think he's prone to evil so --]

Andy: LOVES. PUNS. Which may seem unexpected, but word play is his gig, so.

Pierre: Isn't against the puns but actually has a low-key mischeviousness to his humor. A sorta soft teasing. This is why I picture him and Felix vibing. He actually thinks Felix is very funny -- maybe a bit much but he thinks his boyfriend is so hilarious [sorry Ava].

Kai: Dry.

Val: Sarcastic. Very little shit.

Kendis: Teasing. Kendis loves to poke. I see her as like the jokey, punch you on the shoulder humor sort. Kendis has sibling energy humor even as an only child. [Sardonic tho when she's feeling Mean].

17] How easily would they be convinced to do something that goes against their morals?

Define "morals". JKJK.

Um, it would actually be hard for all of them except - seemingly - for Kendis and Kai. I say this, because Kai's morals are at times governed by what he feels is most logical. And Kendis' are usually - this may surprise - based on the people around them [ie the people they value and trust the most]. However, this is where the seeming comes it, at the end of the day what Kendis values MOST is themselves and said loved ones. So while when push comes to shove it may SEEM she's wibble wobbling, she isn't.

I've a'ways said that if Kendis was born/raised in a bad environment then that is where their morals would align -- the ONLY exception is, I've never had a Kendis who wasn't suckered in by the underdog.

First, let’s talk about the line “The kid is the love child from one of his affairs.”

The translation for 私生児 is “love child” here, and that’s not an incorrect translation, but there is something else that I want to clarify about this word in Japanese. 私生児 refers to a child born outside of marriage.

In other words, Fuchi and Souichi never got married!!!!!! She is not his (ex)wife!!!

Along with this, there is a really creative translation that was used for ゆきずりの女. The translation for this is “one of his affairs”, However this is crazy off. By using the word “one of”, that means he’s had many relationships. But that’s not what that word in Japanese means at all! Instead it is referring to Souichi and Fuchi once having a fling. It does not state that he “loves” her. He just fucked around with her cuz .... he wanted to???

I think perhaps, she was smitten by him because he called her a “beautiful lady” and from there a small relationship (?) started to form between the two of them. But, ultimately, he just wanted a son, and after receiving it from her he just left with the child. LOL idk just a guess really. Cuz why the fuck would he fuck her (without actually loving her) and then TAKE THE CHILD. ITS LITERALLY BACKWARDS SOUICHI!!!! YOU FUCK THE GIRL, SEE THE KID, AND RUN!! NOT, RUN WITH THE KID!!!!!

Maybe he gets some of his power from Binzo??? HMMM???? idkidk

Lastly for this section, and this one is important, the word 生ませた was never translated. This word being translated debunks the big theory everyone has in regards to Fuchi....

Basically what this word means in this context is, Souichi purposely got Fuchi pregnant!!!! He fucked her and came in her on purpose to make her have his child!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

In other wordsssss.... Souichi has a breeding kink. 1000000000% eheheheheh

Next, the line “The kind of woman only my brother could love.”

Ok so this line is 6000000% off.

What is says roughly in Japanese is, “My little brother isn't normal, so that means that that woman isn’t normal either...”

Absolutely NOTHING in the JAPANESE original states that Souichi “loves” Fuchi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And it’s not like the translator rearranged the words to make it flow more smoothly. No. It’s just a completely incorrect translation.

I get that that line was hard asf to translate (i struggled to translate it now and still didn't do a good job) but ultimately it gives off the wrong impression to everyone... smh smh smh....

Nextttt. The translation for お...お前, when Fuchi suddenly shows up. I mentioned this in another post, but imma say it again cuz why not lol.

お前 is most commonly translated as “YOU”. Either as a casual greeting, or whenever someone is displeased (etc etc etc).

As a translator, I understand that the person who translated this might have been trying to add some creativity to Souichi’s line. Perhaps by making him say the word “sweety” it will seem like he’s trying to calm Fuchi down. Which was very creative and I like it!

But personally, it gives off an impression that is soooo offfff from the original that it makes me cringe.

He obviously doesn't love her, so translating that word as “sweety” is just overkill imo....

Lastly, and this isn't about a mistranslation or anything, I just wanna clarify that Souichi did not deny any of the things his brother said.

I actually really enjoyed the latest chapter! And you handled Sera’s arc in a very smart way. She can never be redeemed fully (at least in my eyes, but I’m petty) because she did too many awful things and she literally tried to induce a miscarriage in y/n—I know she was manipulated by Eula but she is a grown ass woman, she still knew 100% what she was doing. So instead of trying to fully redeem her—(she only did what she did to soothe her own conscience, so still selfish reasons showing that her pride is still a major vice) having her be knocked down a few levels and being humbled and admitting that y/n was in the right all along was the right decision for her character, and was more realistic.

also, y/n’s call out of her was SO SATISFYING TY FOR WRITING IT. 10+ chapters of slow burn and angst totally paid off in that FANTASTIC speech rightfully ripping her apart for what a selfish, self victimizing a-hole she is. AND SHE GOT THE DIANA SHOES BACK IM SO HAPPY ASJFKDKKDKD

anyways just wanted to let u know not to be too hard on urself, I thought the chapter was 10/10!!

im so so so happy y/n holds sera and gojo accountable without comprising her kindness. like she’s making it clear she’s not spiteful or vengeful enough to drag other people into their mess but she’s definitely not letting gojo/sera off that easy, especially with the pain they caused her.

Also returning the shoes?? Proud of Sera for taking the big step in order to let go of Gojo. Now there isnt anything to hold on to and she can properly move on, which she really needed. It probably wasnt easy to self-reflect esp after all the bad things she's done, but it's the start of hopefully healing for her. yessss aaaa i feel like it’s not logical for sera to do a complete 180 and suddenly be all nice to yn. it’s more of a gradual process of her awakening to her own reality, realizing what she’s done wrong, and generally progressing as a character. she’s a character that has a lot of pride, so humbling herself down instead of directly apologizing to yn seems like the most accurate move for her character. so glad u guys liked the development :)

“I’M SORRY BUT, what?!?”

No, no. No no no. There was no way in hell, you were going to agree to this solution.

“Please don’t tell you’re being serious, Mom?!”

Your mother sighs, finally turning to look you in the eyes. She’d been trying to shove as many boxes into the backseat of the van for the past five minutes.

“I’m being very serious honey. I know this is not the most ideal situation to be in but you have to do it. There’s no more space in the car and Donghyuck has a free seat in his—”

“Ideal situation? Mom! I can’t stay in a car with him!”

You hate whining to your mom, especially since you’re literally a grown ass adult now. Who would be able to stop themselves from complaining about it though? No one, that’s who! Not when your own mother is kicking you out of the car and forcing you to spend a two-day car ride back home with your ex-boyfriend.

Your mother puts down the lamp in her hands, grabbing your forearms to make you face her properly.

“I’m sorry but you need to do it, okay? I have to drop these off at Dad’s and that’s the opposite way from home! You need to get back in time to finish packing for the fall semester and if you go with me, you’ll miss the first day of being a junior in college. Now, do you really want to do that?”

Of course, your mother is giving you the No Funny Business look now, the fight in you melting away slowly. It wasn’t her fault that the moving company she hired failed to show up today. You weren’t really mad at her for something she couldn’t help. Maybe just deep down, a combination of things were upsetting you.

Every summer, ever since you were born, your family has gone down to the beach house they own each year. The Lee family, your longtime neighbors, also tagged along any summer they could. With you being the only child and the Lee’s youngest daughter finally flying off to college, the tradition began to die off quick. It was sad to think about the place being put up for sale but it eventually happened this year.

You spent every single moment at the beach house trying to soak in the reality as much as possible to prepare yourself. It obviously didn’t work because only now, taking out all the decorations from the rooms to load up, did it really hit you. This was the last summer break being spent here before the place got sold and it was over already.

Although it wasn’t as pleasant as the past years, like when you spent every waking hour with Hyuck— no, Donghyuck— it still felt like a second home. Now all the campfires, sunbathing, tennis playing, and evening barbeques were over.

The icing on the cake to your already somber mood had to be the ride back home with your ex though.

Conveniently of course, your car was at home and your neighbor’s son was “driving home for school as well and he could just drop you off since we live next door to one another!” It would also be “very rude to not accept their offer, even if you two ended on bad terms.”

Gosh, you would have loved the idea if the two of you were still together. It’s the kind of spontaneous summer road trip you dreamed about in high school; just you and your boyfriend together on the highway. But nope, it wasn’t going to be like that at all. You’re not with Hyuck, fuck— Donghyuck— anymore and the trip back was going to be awful with all the silence.

You spent the whole time at the house this summer subtly avoiding him with some awkward, forced small talk. You agreed to go to the house because you didn’t think your neighbor’s son was going. As expected, your oblivious dad failed to mention that the Lee’s were coming at the last minute though.

You thought it was fine, given that you believed you were over him already. You and Donghyuck had broken up last year’s spring so it had been a year and a few months to get over it all.

Turns out that was the fattest lie you could’ve told yourself because the millisecond you saw that sandy brown head of hair, that hollow feeling in your chest came back like a flash flood. He’d lost some weight, changed up his style a little, but still had his charming tan on. The biggest difference was his demeanor around you.

The way he simply acted while you were around him… it was like he thought you were a predator. Like he was the wounded animal between the two of you after everything that had happened.

When it finally registered in your head, all the damage he had done to you in the past and how it still haunted you to this day… let’s just say you’ve been a little colder to a certain Lee Donghyuck. It was noticeable by everyone at the beach house but no one had the guts to say anything.

Your mother must have felt the fight drain out of your body as well, given that your shoulders gave up their defensive position. She manages to put on a smile for you pityingly, rubbing her hands up and down your forearms in comfort.

“Maybe you guys can finally get some closure. It really suffocated the mood the whole time we were here.” Your mom complains, making an involuntary glare appear on your face.

It’s strange to think shortly after that boy broke your heart, you were still willing to lie and prettily wrap up his betrayal to your parents. To never tell them the real truth.

It hurt too much to say it out loud to yourself, much less your parents who adored and loved Donghyuck like their own son.

Your mother interprets the glare as playful, a tinkling laugh shaking her voice.

“You two will be fine. I’ll even pay for all the junk food and the nice hotel you two will stay at.”

When you bite your lip in reluctant anticipation, she smiles knowingly.

“You’ll really pay for two hotel rooms?” The hope in your voice gave yourself away. The momentary silence makes you believe she’s considering it until her face twists.

“No, of course not! You two would be sharing one room with two separate beds.”

Huffing, you cross your arms and go back to duct-taping all the boxes. Thankfully, all the big furniture like the beds and sofas were shipped off this morning, just in case something like this happened. All that was left could hopefully be shoved into five separate cars.

“You don’t have to do that Mom. We both earn money and can pay for our own accommodations.” You mutter. Her head pops out from behind the seat, mouth open to protest but you interrupt her quickly.

“It’s fine, I promise. It’s the moving company’s fault for all this happening. Our family has bad luck with these types of things.” You grumble.

A chuckle is heard from inside the car as she recalls a moving incident two years ago. “We do huh? Remember when your dad packed too many heavy things into the elevator and it couldn’t go up?”

You sigh at the memory. “Yes, sadly I do. Many of the other dorm residents had a grudge against me before I had ever even spoken to them.”

A cough cuts through the sound of your mom’s loud laugh, making your head whip around to see where it came from.

Just when he’s sitting in the back of your mind, Donghyuck appears walking over with a big cardboard box in his arms. He sets it far away from your reach, as expected.

Ah yes, still so afraid to get too close to you. It’s like he thinks if he came too close, you may scream at him in front of everyone on the property.

In his defense, you wouldn’t put it past yourself to do that if he tried to explain himself to you once again.

Your head drops down to become laser-focused on picking at the duct tape roll, the sudden quietness making your mom get curious enough to step out.

“Ugh, I can begin to feel the effects of my aging. My back is killing me.” She grunts while getting out of the van.

Donghyuck’s eyes widen, immediately walking forward to hold her steady. “Here, let me help out. I can put the stuff in the car instead.”

“Oh no, it’s alright hon. Me and Y/N got this, go help your mom. I am making you all move everything.” Your mother tries to shoo away, clearly feeling bad for the extra muscles helping around.

“Don’t worry about it. After all, me and my family practically lived here with you guys most summers. My mom’s also done with her load. I’m here because there’s no more space to fit in this last box. Think it can fit in there?” Donghyuck asks with his hands full, jerking his head at the said object he came with.

You just finished taping the box he’s pointing at and when you back away from it, Donghyuck quickly bends back down to fit it into the car himself.

The motherly smile settled on your mom’s lips sits unwell with you, especially as she squeezes Donghyuck’s ear in fondness and thanks.

She still treats him like a future son-in-law and it makes the pit in your stomach widen even further as you watch.

Thirty minutes later, a miracle came from the heavens to ensure all the boxes fit in all five cars, including Donghyuck’s which barely had enough space for you in the shotgun. As desperate as the thought was, you were secretly hoping there would be no space for you anywhere. A called Uber would have saved you from enduring Donghyuck’s presence for 48 hours and no one would be able to think you were rude for it.

In her likely fashion though, your mom made sure to shove the unnecessary boxes you placed in the shotgun to the back of Donghyuck’s car. The last thing to do was grab your suitcase and backpack from inside the house and off you’ll go forever.

Walking into the bare living room, a feeling of bittersweet nostalgia overwhelmed you.

The coffee table, beat up from all the kids’ roughhousing back in the day, is gone. It leaves a sad space in the middle and makes the room look so much bigger than in the past. The place looked less homey and more alien now that the furniture was all stripped away, especially the sofa.

The comfy L-shaped couch was your haven whenever you needed some peace and quiet from the chaos, away from everyone and everything for a while. Hyuck always knew to find you here whenever you disappeared from the loud atmosphere, giving you the company you didn’t even know you craved.

Everything felt like it passed by so quick and suddenly, you wished you could turn back time, even for just for a little. To relive every happy feeling you’ve ever felt in this big home… to feel your bare feet buried in the sand, listen to the sound of waves in the background, breathe in the comforting smell of the sea salt, that comforting sweaty hand wrapped in yours, his bare chest wetting your cheek, having just come back from swimming—

“You ready?”

When you look behind you, Hyuck is stood by the front door, holding his bags. You feel yourself nodding but don’t really believe it in your bones.

As you turn back towards the living room, he quietly puts the bags down and stands to your right. You hear the other four cars drive off, beeping in goodbye to one another, but can’t seem to move your feet, force yourself to step out the house, and drive away as well.

“I’m going to miss this place too,” Hyuck says quietly. The sound of his soft voice makes you glance at him. The soft brown eyes that meet yours lifts your heart just a bit before it all comes crashing down.

He’s standing six feet away from you.

The small amount of distance isn’t much but it feels like miles emotionally. It’s the distance he set up that made that little bubble of fantasy pop and wash away with the waves.

The both of you used to snuggle up on that couch in this very living room a little more than a year ago and hate to be so far away from one another. Looking down at the gap between you two now, your bittersweet recollection comes to an abrupt end.

A humorless scoff passes your lips before you can help it. The need to leave this place behind itches you into action.

Grabbing your things, your feet mechanically moves your body without another word, forcing your head not to look up to Donghyuck’s expression.

You don’t know if he’d look hurt but you didn’t want to risk it. You didn’t care.

You didn’t.

You didn’t care.

Xu Mo vs. Mo Yi [Character Study]

I can never get over the aesthetic of these two pictures placed side by side LOL. But, anyway, the point of this post is to nip any undue comparisons in the bud and claims of copying organize my thoughts and compare these two characters to highlight their similarities, differences, and further explore each character through these contrasts.

Q) If you like Xu Mo, would you like Mo Yi?

Honestly, I think this depends on what you like most about Xu Mo. I already knew beforehand that I gravitate towards characters who think 5 steps ahead, are predominantly logical, and scholars/gentlemen, so it’s not surprising I bias both Xu Mo and Mo Yi.

However, as I got to know Mo Yi further (Themis is around 6 months old now), I find that he’s distinctively different from Xu Mo on three crucial points that’ll determine whether people from either camp will like the other character.

1) Stance on Others

In a post for Xu Mo, “Into Your World”, I argued that Xu Mo is an alienated genius who had troubles getting along with others, until he mastered the social game as an adult. However, you can still see glimpses of this as he tries to understand MC’s world and shares his own.

To be fair, Mo Yi’s past is still under wraps but I feel confident in saying that, while he was probably highly intelligent compared to his peers [SR Sculpted Heart], his isolation doesn’t seem to come from his innate nature but rather his social position (there’s heavy implications that he’s like some sort of noble or something) [SR Snowy Pine Fairytale].

IMO, these backgrounds really shaped the way these two men interact with the world.

Xu Mo has a detached and indifferent view towards other people. They simply exist and don’t bring anything positive or negative to him. His ambition to ensure the survival of humanity reflects this too because it’s pure utilitarianism; everyone (apart from MC) can be sacrificed equally for the greater good. If anything, he probably finds other people to be interesting subjects to study, no matter what kind of person they are. IIRC the only time he expressed dislike to people, or a group of people, was when he told Hades he enjoyed killing thieves LOL.

Meanwhile, Mo Yi has an elitist streak to the point where he and his MC actually clashed opinions and debated each other [SR Warm Fingertips]. It’s incredibly ironic because he’s a psychiatrist who treats his patients without judgment, but at the same time he looks down on so many things and people (PUAs, people who betray love, hypocrites who only seek power and fame) [Ch2; Personal Story Ch1-3; SSR Moonlit Ball].

One of the things I noticed early on is that Xu Mo draws from the Eastern scholar archetype, “Xu Mo Character Study”, while Mo Yi actually draws more from the Western gentleman archetype.

So, just to summarize this section, Xu Mo is detached from the world naturally and likes to observe people and try to blend in. Mo Yi deliberately draws a line between him and others and, at times, has the casual cruelty of someone born as nobility (arrogance is carved into his bones, even if he tends to keep it low-key because he generally has a “gentle and polite” attitude).

2) Stance on Love

Xu Mo didn’t understand love, or really even emotions. Love is grown between him and his MC (there’s multiple analogies throughout the game about how their love is like a seed). I think [Ch25] pretty much sums it up for Xu Mo, where he goes through that emotional rollercoaster and muses about how, at the end of human evolution, emotions should be discarded. He also admits that MC taught him the “fear” of a normal person, because now he has someone he cannot give up no matter what, which goes against his previous utilitarian beliefs.

Compared to this, Mo Yi fell in love at first sight. Yes, you read that right. The “scientist and logical” archetype fell in love at first sight LOL. Not only does he acknowledge it right off the bat, but he fully embraces it too and believes that real love makes people better versions of themselves [Personal Story]. Mo Yi is a through and through psychiatrist in that he never underestimates how primal emotions (and love) can be.

Heck, not only is this central to his personal story, but we also have hints that one of Mo Yi’s parents fell in love at first sight with the other person (and he inherited their predisposition for that). Unfortunately, their love had a tragic end and Mo Yi seems to have a huge grudge against his father for whatever happened to his mother (again, Mihoyo is keeping this a mystery LOL), but Mo Yi explicitly confirms that even if his love leads to a tragic end he will still walk down this road and attempt to change it [SR Cool Summer].

IMO one other difference between them re: love is this exchange that lives rent free in my head which I saw in a Xu Mo/Reader/Mo Yi fanfiction LOL. Bear with me here.

Mo Yi: Wearing a mask for a long time will tire you.

Xu Mo: It’s enough just to wear one in front of the necessary person.

Xu Mo and his MC make great efforts to understand each other’s worlds, but this understanding comes from the doors he chooses to open to her. He reveals himself as much as possible, but I think he’s an inherently private person (and there’s all that Ares stuff) so there are times where he hides things so that he doesn’t worry his MC. I think this is enough to count as a “mask”. Sometimes he pretends he’s okay when he’s not.

On the other hand, while I think Mo Yi shares the sentiment in not wanting his MC to worry unduly, he tries to reveal himself as much as possible. There’s an amazingly relatable conflict in him here where he wants her to know every side of him, but he’s also terrified of how she’ll react if he shows her his ugliest sides and imperfect sides (he has some sort of phobia or fear about imperfection, but Mihoyo has been keeping mum on the exact details of this so far) [Personal Story; SR Sculpted Heart].

It’s pretty ironic that Mo Yi wants to be perfect, but he realizes that the more perfect he is the more of a sense of distance there’ll be between him and his MC because of the subconscious pressure someone “perfect” brings LOL [SSR Border of Light and Darkness].

3) Stance on Growth

If you haven’t realized that one of Xu Mo’s greatest themes is the phrase “Take your time in growing”, then what have you been reading? Jkjk, but seriously this gets repeated in multiple places, although my brain always goes back to [Blossom Date] for this.

Even if he and his MC start off with fundamental differences (she believes all people have inherent worth and can’t be involuntarily sacrificed), he wants to personally watch the journey of her maturation. He also subtly guides and teaches her. Unfortunately, due to circumstances of the main story, he doesn’t get his wish and she grows up a lot out of his eyes, but their relationship still revolves around him wanting her to have as much time as possible to grow.

He’s, for a lack of better word, extremely gentle about this (setting aside as much of the Ares and story parts as we can, because LovePro’s story is tragedy on tragedy LOL). I think [Autumn Blaze Date] shows a good analogy for this, because he holds the bicycle steady for MC until she can get going on her own, and he also catches her the first time.

Meanwhile, Mo Yi... ha ha ha. I just came out of chapter 3 for his [Personal Story] and let’s just say his philosophy is tough love. It’s ironic because, in many of his other dates, he wrestles with an internal conflict to protect his MC but also to let her experience all sorts of things to both test and temper her.

This is going to touch on the previous topic about love for a moment, but a part of Mo Yi’s love at first sight experience is also “testing” the other person through all sorts of situations and, after seeing all their different sides, he can determine whether his love at first sight is one that’ll last for the rest of his life or if it’s just a fleeting moment of beauty and emotion.

He also extremely respects his MC’s sense of justice and pursuit of the truth in the world, no matter what she encounters, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this is what drew him to her in the first place. But MC’s occupation and beliefs will make her confront a lot of dark and dangerous things and so, whenever possible, Mo Yi lets her confront these in “controlled” situations to train her. If I had to make an analogy, IMO, he’d let his MC ride the bicycle and pick her up only after she falls, or when she’s like 0.1cm away from the ground LOL.

Mo Yi is (perhaps rightfully) called out on this by another character, who believes Mo Yi is too arrogant in believing everything is under his control and he can prevent MC from getting hurt whenever he lets her get into dangerous situations, and I’m interested to see if Mihoyo will let him experience failures with his philosophy so he can grow more, like the things Xu Mo went through re: his personal beliefs [Ch24].

Overall

I don’t know how well I explained myself, especially for people who don’t know anything about Mo Yi, and each section goes back and forth between the two characters LOL so here’s another section that attempts to describe their overall atmosphere.

If, like I said in my Headcanon Notes, Xu Mo makes me immediately think of all the words for soft, gentle, light, still, water, etc etc., then the words I constantly think about for Mo Yi is messily human. He’s like a bundle of contradictions, but coherent because it’s being intentionally done.

Mo Yi doesn’t discriminate against his patients, yet he can be elitist and looks down on others. He wants to let MC have dangerous experiences, but also wants to protect her. He wants to be perfect, but he also wants to reveal himself entirely to his MC because that’s real love.

In contrast, Xu Mo has a very clean and orderly personality LOL. You can draw clear cause and effect lines from his personality to his actions.

So, anyway, these are two interesting characters who start off with similar archetypes as scientific logical men of scholar/gentleman dispositions, but yet they’re also on opposite ends for a lot of things such as their approach to emotions and the world.

Oh wait, lastly, because I don’t have a good place to put this—but I think it’s funny—is that both characters are pretty possessive and greedy, but while Xu Mo does things in a sneaky, cunning and fox-like way Mo Yi gets ridiculously open about his jealousy and it’s hilariously cute but also almost childish? I often forget Mo Yi is older than Xu Mo by a year, because Xu Mo honestly feels a bit more mature than him LOL. If we count them actually aging by when their game came out though, then Mo Yi is 28 and Xu Mo is 29 now.

In my canon no one dies because I'm so fucking weak to make that happen HAHAHAHA sorry for the sweetness in advance XD

After defeating Dio, finding Alex (yes because she was lost during the fight, but she showed up in the end so WOHOO! She was messed up for good, but she had part of Yanyu's stand to help her injuries) and going to the hospital, Jotaro got the balls to "say" what he really feels about Alex after 7 years. ("Say" because he goes straight to the point with a flustrated kiss, and THEN he actually says what he feels XD) Alexandra started developing feelings right after the Anubi's fight, so of course she accepted his confession! Finally after all of these years, after all many breakups she finally discovered who she really needs in her life. (I also made a draw of their kiss👀👀 you can see it here!)

Returned to Japan, they continued their studies until graduation and since they're both ocean nerds, they also went to the same university in America and lived together in a nice apartment.

During that time, they had the adorable Jolyne (SHE HAS ALEX'S FRECKLEEEESHDHSBSJS). Alex then got pregnant by accident, but they decided to keep the kid, but sadly the poor thing was born dead. But after some time, while they were searching for a stand user in an abandoned house, they found a little kid. He was skinny and had a lot of bruises on his body, so they decided to take him and they eventually adopted him. The boy's name was Luis. (They for sure worked hard to take care of them and study at the same time, but they at least had a little financial help from Joseph and the SPW. Yes, they were also working for them to search the Stand Arrows, pretty busy huh? XD They also get some help in watching the kids from Yanyu and Kakyoin and sometimes also worked together for the stand users' researches). They got married a year after that, in 1996.

After the Morioh-Cho event, they got their PhD and Alexandra worked as Jotaro's assistant for marine biology researches. So they traveled for work around the world, along with their kids that for them was like a vacation everytime. But afterall, the two lovers were doing what they loved, so it was a nice time also for them. But since their kids had to go to school they couldn't travel all the time, so they settled for good in a nice house and Alexandra became a teacher of marine biology in a college nearby. While that, Jotaro continued with his researches and trips. (But they still worked together for the SPW)

From then, all went normal. Well, yeah sometimes there were those married-couple-discussion, (for various reasons, and of course for their habit to risk their life for eachother in dangerous situations with some stand users) but they only served to make their relationship stronger than before, if that's even possible-

After Stone Ocean (Alex appeard here and helped), the things started to calm down. There were still annoying stand user, but not as much as before. Their kids are also adults now, so they don't need more supervision. That meeeeans that Alex can return working with Jotaro as an assistent for marine biology researches! Ooh, how she missed those days :'') but this time, she'll work as an ocean photographer. In the end, they all live like a regular family. Jotaro and Jolyne still have some bickering, but that's just a matter of time. Yanyu here is the one confessing her love, right on the battle field when Alex still had to be found. They were all messed up, and Yanyu was trying her best to heal them with her stand, but she got bad injuries herself so it was hard to do it for everyone. All of them, minus for Joseph and Jotaro, were on the ambulance bed. Yanyu and Kakyoin shared the same ambulance, and it was a lot to take in the view of the one she loved in that state. Kakyoin was still knocked out, but as soon as he woke up (still weak of course), he turned his head to the side and saw Yanyu in tears. They became happy tears and even is she was weak and badly injured, she jumped out of her bad and threw her arms around Kakyoin's neck (obviously without hurting him). They chatted a little and Yanyu confessed her feelings for him, which he returned with their first kiss.

Since Kakyoin lived in Japan and Yanyu in Singapore, it was hard for them to say goodbye. But they always sended letters to eachother, and when they were both capable of moving out from their house, they decided to live together in America where Alex and Jotaro were.

Thanks to Yanyu's stand, Kakyoin returned in his normal form (even tho for the first times he had to use crutches). They both worked for the SPW in searching stand users for a living (sometimes along with Jotaro and Alex), then Kakyoin decided to become a game designer and Yanyu became a wedding planner. Sometimes they still had to deal with stand users, so they still worked for the SPW.

They got married in 1997 and 2 years later Yanyu went to Morioh with Alex to deal with Yoshikage Kira, while Kakyoin had to stay in America for an important event's work.

When Yanyu was 29, she got pregnant and gave life to a little newborn and the couple named her Yanki ( Yanyu + Noriaki. Yes, they fused their name cuz it's adorable) and some days later they got a kitty named Emgy (ANOTHER FUSION NAME- But this time with their stand's name: M from "Memories" and G from "Green". His name is spelled like that because that's how you pronounce those letters, but I didn't like it spelled MG, so I gave it a little twist 👀)

They didn't appear in Stone Ocean, but that doesn't mean that they didn't care anymore of Alex and Jotaro or because they lost contacts. The situation is simple: those two just didn't asked for their help, because they didn't want to put them in trouble and also because they had Yanki that was just 10 at the time, that just discovered her stand! (I still have to gave it a name and a look, but it's ability is curing people's injuries with emerald dust). Yanyu and Kakyoin appreciated their thought, but they got mad at them nonetheless XD. But in the end all went well, and they kept living like a normal family with normal friends 😌 (of course there were still those annoying stand users, but apart from that everyone lived happily ever after ;v;)

SoooOOO- from this post, I only changed the fact that Luis doesn't get a stand. I'm still not sure about giving him one or not, but I'll see after Stone Ocean will come out, along with other things that I might add idk 👀👀 Oh and I also changed the fact that Alex becomes a ocean photographer :)

Also this check this out because it’s basically everything I say here lol and no, I’m not after credit—but I want to state some of my opinions/thoughts where I’ll use that tweet as my reference.

Let’s get this done with.

So I was actually rereading the manga all over again, especially the arcs where season 4 that consists of 16? episodes won’t be able to cover.

Will be talking about 122, 137 and 138 (since I’ll be setting them as my reference points for the manga panels)

I love to ask myself questions, but I came upon myself asking;

“What does Ymir want?”

Yes I know that she does want freedom, but thing is;

“What does she really want?”

So imma do a take on this.

(I’m not as big brain as anyone lol srsly I’m already failing at school—but here I am)

In my POV, what I think she wants is what life is.

Like what does life bring? Why is living life important?

It’s as if she’s asking;

“What do they mean when they say, “Live your life to the fullest?”

In her timeline, growing up in a nature with cruelty and selfishness becoming a norm for people, she starts to slowly see that life is cheap and it could easily be thrown away as long as someone with enough power could do so.

Loving was impossible in such nature.

But one thing seemed to have an impact on her.

A couple kissing, showing their love for each other.

This quite changed her perspective about life, regarding love or feelings for someone.

It was possible.

That no matter how cruel this world is, love will show the beauty of itself.

Because of course, when reading love stories or watching romantic movies we’d see it as beautiful (not all of us, I mean I, myself, find them cringy lol jkjk)

For her, even if it’s just a plain couple kissing, it was big enough to let her know that such thing exists no matter the nature of the world—whether cruel or not.

But let’s take a look at her backstory where she had quite the opposite of what she wants where she waited 2000 years for someone or some people to show her.

1. Freedom (What is its value?)

They said she was “free”, but it turns out it wasn’t freedom at all. She was only used as a tool for people to practice hunting. She was still a slave, a tool to be used for something.

2. Purpose/Meaning of life (Why were we all born?)

In this one, in her times after she got her titan powers, used as a tool for war to crush Marley, she became pregnant and bore the king’s child.

This is why when Maria (assuming it is because it looks like it) was born, she didn’t smile.

She’s probably wondering, “Whats the purpose of being born? To grow up and multiply? To have something to keep living for? Then die?”

Where this was also said by Zeke to Armin:

But I also wonder what Kenny meant by here:

The “something” he said must be what purpose is.

Maybe for Ymir, the reason why she kept going must be because she kept following King Fritz’ orders in order to try to live.

Even when King Fritz was gone, she continued following orders from descendants that were from the bloodline of royal blood (Fritz/Reiss is basically the same thing)

(Ok I just love Kenny lol)

3. Love (What is unconditional love?)

Something King Fritz never showed to her.

She was only a concubine, a low-class for him.

Not his wife—not even a queen to rule by his side.

For him, she was still a slave.

Not someone to share mutual feelings with.

Also connecting this no. 2, the king said, “Rise. Work. That is why you were born.” which is clearly her PURPOSE for him and which became her mindset.

(Gurl even she got that titan power, she could never defy him)

For 2000 years, she must’ve been seeking for the true meaning behind the 3 I have mentioned, why she longed for someone to show them.

For her to see or even experience it herself.

Even watching and knowing what it is will do for her.

Which now brings me to EMA, what they’ve done to show her the meaning of the three.

1. Freedom

My favorite guy, Eren Freedom Yeager—

Anyway, of course the one to show the meaning of freedom will be Eren (too obvious man)

But how did he show it?

Looking back to 122, he clearly said these which made Ymir finally make her first ever choice out of free will.

No she doesn’t want to end this world nor does Eren want to (don’t take their words and actions literally)

“You’re no slave.”

She wasn’t a slave out of her choice, it was their system from before that brought her to being one.

“You’re no god.”

When she got her titan powers, it’s as if she was a walking goddess who had a choice to crush Marley out of the Eldian king’s prayers or something.

Basically if you prayed and prayed (depends on any religion if you do this, BUT for me, this is what I do lol) you’ll get your wish.

And his wish was to crush Marley using her power.

Which she clearly did making her look like a goddess or something in the range.

“You’re just a person.”

Now this.

This is when Ymir finally got what she also longed for, someone to treat her as a human, not a tool to win wars, not to be a tool to use to bear the king’s children.

What was something Eren gave her to have be described as “showing her what freedom is”?

Eren gave her the right to choose whether to stay or end it all.

Knowing Ymir would still need an order to do so (idk I assume it again lol), Eren decided to order her to have her own free will and decide for herself. (Violet Evergarden intensifies)

And of course, since she was asked and given the right to choose, she picked the one where she feels like a better choice—end it all.

“You must have been waiting all this time. Waiting 2000 years just for someone.”

Yes, Eren. She’s been waiting 2000 years for you to show her what the value of freedom is and what it is like to decide on your own instead of following orders.

Her reaction to it.

It was a reaction of being glad that finally, after years of waiting, someone finally understood her and treated her as a human—someone who doesn’t see her as a tool to do something—not a fodder.

She finally understood the value of freedom, what it’s importance to life is.

So she could choose things she’ll regret the least or what she thinks is the right call in a situation.

2. Purpose/Meaning of life, what makes it beautiful?

In this one, let’s recall 137.

Armin and Zeke’s conversation.

So while Armin and Zeke while talking to each other about what is life’s purpose and all those stuff—I’m assuming Ymir was listening to their conversation.

And maybe it wasn’t only Zeke who realized this, but Ymir as well.

That even if times could be cruel and you’d rather be doing the same thing, as long as it makes you happy, you’d still find yourself smiling despite being hurt by the world.

Since I assumed Ymir was listening to this, she finally understood that even something as simple and meaningless to others, as long as it meant something for you, it deserves to be cherished even if it were simple and boring to the eyes of others.

She finally understood another thing that makes life beautiful.

It’s the memories you made and cherished that could be your strength to move on and how life deserves to be seen all throughout—even if the world despises you.

That you set the purpose of your life, not others, because you have the freedom to do so.

She might’ve not experienced this, but at least she heard it from someone who did and what their thoughts about it were.

3. Love

And then this.

Something that she also wanted to see for herself.

She wanted to know if it was indeed possible to love in this cruel world.

If you can still love someone who decided to let you go to become a monster for others.

And with a simple act such as “kissing” (ignore the fact it’s a severed head gfdi), it made her believe that through life, you could find someone to share mutual feelings with, to love someone.

And how it’s not easy to live life without someone to love.

Because a loved one is your source of strength.

Your motivation to anything.

And this exactly made her smile.

She saw it herself, unconditional love.

Even if they became a monster—or is a monster—as long as you love them, you’d be able to forgive them and show them that for you, they’re a human.

Let’s see what Ymir did after getting things she have longed for.

So since Eren showed her what it’s like to decide for your own, she helped him by lending her power to him.

For Armin, he showed/told her that life itself has a meaning and purpose and that is yours to decide what it would be, and the beauty of the memories you cherished.

Therefore, she helped him by letting past titan shifters fight with them in order to stop the rumbling.

But what would she do for Mikasa? Since she’s smiling, I assume it was because she finally completed the puzzle she’s been trying to solve ever since.

And it was about what life truly is and why people were born in the first place.

Manifesting my answer would be on ch.139 of what she’d do for Mikasa.

Alright, this got really, really long. And so I've put it all under the break.

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?

Honestly, it was really to headcanon dump on Adler, and tell a story from the view of a 7 year old, while also exploring Soviet Culture of the 70s and early 80s, and highlighting an 80s outlook on disorders and medications. Additionally, there's the part about child soldiers, and while Bell has a few fictional tools to help her, the core principles of being a child bred into death are somewhat intact. And all under the name of comedy. The reason for that is because Bell is too young to understand most all that happens to her, so her only goal is to play with Adler and have a good time because he's taking care of her well enough she doesn't need to worry about herself.

8: Did any real people or events inspire any part of it?

TLDR: Three inspirations: Loung Ung, unnamed children of Vietnam, and RowdyRogan.

Loung Ung is the author of First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers (it was turned into a movie recently but I didn't watch it). In that book, Loung was born into a large privileged family and lived a good life up until the Khmer Rouge army stormed the city and drove her family out with no preparation ahead of time. They were sent to the rice fields where 5-year-old Loung watched her family get picked off by soldiers one by one. Because of her feisty personality and notable strength, now 8-year-old Loung was recruited by the Khmer Rouge to become a child soldiers, in which she learned how to fight with other children who were 10-12. When the genocide ended, Loung and a sibling was brought to the U.S. to start a proper education and grow up there. She returned later to Cambodia where she met another sibling who survived and was able to help Loung with the details of the genocide to write her book.

Vietnamese children were quite common among American camps during the Vietnam War. Many times, it was because Vietnamese women were hired to do soldier's laundry, provide medical assistance, and basically do a lot of housework chores. And the children would follow their mothers. The soldiers, meanwhile, loved playing with the children. While this would sometimes lead to children planting bombs in the camps, many times it was pretty peaceful overall. American Soldiers always knew when something was about to go down because the children would disappear. Whether something happened today, tomorrow, or next week, who knows, but that's how they could tell.

In October 2020, FaZe clan announced a competition called the FaZe 5. The competition allowed YouTubers and content creators to compete for five sponsored spots in which they would be paid by FaZe for their content, and helping broadcast FaZe's name across gaming communities in hopes of creating teams in more games (for reference, FaZe clan just got a Rocket League team this year, 2021. Rocket League was released in 2015). One of those competitors was 5-year-old streamer RowdyRogan, who is best known for his insane Warzone gameplay. Though RowdyRogan is just one, there are thousands of kids under 10 who play Call of Duty, and so it's highly likely that a 7-year-old played the campaign as Bell.

15: What did you learn from writing this fic?

That Warfarin came from a lab accident.

jkjk (but not really) I think the biggest thing I've learned from writing the fic is how to write long chapters. My previous fic before that one was 1.6K. The first chapter of ALF was 2.3K. The second 4.9K. And now I'm typing about 9K words each chapter. It's helped build my confidence in making a longer story and holding the reader's attention for that long, and encouraged me to pursue long one-shots, something that I've always wanted to do but didn't have the confidence nor will to try.
