Knock knock it's me ya boi BACK WITH MORE KISSIES-

So okay. It's right after something perilous, like a large fight with the British, a run in with Hornigold, or the loss of the Revenge. Everyone's come out okay on the other end though, so they're all celebrating each other's safety and wellbeing. Friends are embracing and laughing, couples are snuggling close and kissing, and all is merry...

But Stede and Ed are still stuck by tension, simply looking at each other from across the way. The chance is right there. They can almost taste the affection, they both want it so bad. They haven't fully made up, but they just went through hell and back with each other, and they've both made it. If they could just have each other again...

When suddenly, someone (probably Pete or Jim let's be real lol), yells something like, "OH JUST GET ON WITH IT ALREADY." Because, let's be real x2, their longing for each other is obvious, so painfully obvious.

And it makes them stutter a bit, makes them blush and avert their eyes and cling to that last little bit of denial. But then Stede decides that no, he can't wait anymore. They've gone through so much. They've been around, SEEN THINGS. And he wants Ed back like nothing else.

So he runs to bridge the gap, hesitates for a split second to gaze upon Ed--his beautiful Ed, before pulling him into a deep, wonderful, perfect kiss. Perhaps Ed is stunned for a moment, as though he's unable to properly process that he's actually kissing Stede again, that Stede is actually kissing him. But then all the walls come tumbling down, and they kiss until they have to come up for air.

[ STEPPING BACK ]: while they’re both attending a particularly lively and crowded party, both muses, craving a moment of peace and fresh air, accidentally go to the same balcony. unwilling to leave, they sit together, and begin to talk as the party spins on behind their backs.

He takes a long, deep hit, but he's out of practice, so the next thing you know, he's practically coughing up a lung. It's only when he hears footsteps behind him that he starts waving away the smoke, as if that could do something about the generally skunky smell in the air. That's not something he can blame on the dead Oklahoma trees or pollution. The thing is, star quarterback Jody is not supposed to be toking it up at all, and especially not at the New Year's Eve party with higher-ups mere steps away from him in the penthouse. But fuck it, he thinks—the team's got no chance in the playoff with him recovering from an ankle injury. The season's practically over; he should be allotted some fun since he's not even playing anymore.

"Not gonna tell on me, are you?" he asks playfully, glancing over his shoulder, not even really looking hard at who it could be on the other side. Whoever it is is just going to have to cut him some slack, he thinks. The clock's going to strike midnight here soon and life's too short to follow a regime forever. He'll work out twice as hard tomorrow to make up for smoking pot.

When he sees who it is, a practical stranger, he coughs again and tries to swat at the air again. "Shit. I'm sorry. I thought you were—" a teammate? One of the coaches? Literally anybody else but her. He'd only seen her on his phone. He straightens up, unable to hide the joint—and should he even try, at this point? "My bad."
