as it was// j.b.
Joe was no stranger to me. We had grown up in the same neighborhood. I remember swimming in eachother’s pools, having snowball fights, and our little movie night’s as kids. We were always interested in the same things, science, space, and animals. I would come over and play with his lizard every day after school.
We began to grow apart during high school. It was the beginning of his future and though I was as supportive as a childhood friend could be, things began to come between us. I was focused solely on my grades and Joe’s priority was getting into a D1 university to keep his career progressing. So when I found out he had gotten into Ohio State I was incredibly happy for him. I had gotten into Baylor and he knew it was my dream school. We were both so excited for eachother and what the future held.
Everyone always believed there was something between Joe and I, but we always kept it friendly. He was my prom date, first kiss, and best friend. I never knew what Joe was feeling, but then again was it even my business? All I needed to know is that we were friends still.
Before we both left for school we promised to stay in touch and never lose the friendship we had. We had only ever been comfortable with eachother, so we decided it would be best to be eachothers first…..and second, and third. But that doesn’t matter. This wasn’t some movie where the main characters went from friends to lovers or some shit like that.
The last time we saw eachother was winter break of our freshman year. We had been hanging out in his basement watching movies and scrolling on our phones when he spoke up out of nowhere.
“Y/N I’m so lucky to have a friend like you. Straight up no one has stuck by me like you have, and I hope you know I’m grateful.” He said
“I promise I believe you Joey, don’t worry.” I responded with a small giggle.
“I met somebody.” He blurted out. It almost sounded like he was saying something just to say something.
I didn’t respond right away partly because I didn’t know what to say and partly because I didn’t want to say anything.
“That’s good J, is she good to you?” I responded, we were just friends. I shouldn’t have to remind myself of that, but I do.
“Yeah, I just don’t want you to trip when I post her or some shit.” He said, by this time I could tell he was lying.
“Why would I?” I asked.
He started to respond. “Because you know-”
I had to cut him off before it got any deeper.
“Joe, we’re best friends, that's it. Plus, I want you to be happy. Yeah we messed around for a little but that doesn’t mean much. Our friendship comes before anything else.” I responded.
I could see disappointment take over his face. But what he said next was something I never expected to hear.
“You were just a good fuck if that’s the case. Friends or not, I thought you would at least care a little more.” He yelled.
“Joe what the fuck are you even saying right now, like actually. Do you want me to be jealous or something? You are the one who just brought up meeting a different girl.” I was shocked.
“I don’t know how I feel about you Y/N, I mean, our friendship or whatever you want to call it, has always been a little messy. I’ve loved you since we were kids.” He said
“Joe, if that was the case you would’ve at least made some room for me in your life when your football career took off. Nobody was there for you like I was and you know that.” I spat.
I could see his ears turn pink and bright flush starting to come over his cheeks, a tell-tale sign that he was about to cry.
“Look, I don’t know how we got here whether its this point of the conversation or our lives, but fuck Joe, why did you have to do this. Why did we have to do this? I just wanted to catch up and have a good night.” I said
“But since we’re bringing shit up, you have been a terrible fucking friend. You don’t answer texts let alone answer calls. We barely talk. Did the night before you left mean nothing?” I yelled.
We had both promised to never bring that night up. We had slept together, but that night was different. He told me he loved me and I said it back. Sure, we had said it before, but it was always platonically. I knew that night he had made love to me. There was no one else for me but J. But I refuse to even pursue it. He’s my childhood best friend, not my soulmate.
“Fuck you Joey, seriously.”
I rushed up the stairs and out the door to my car with tears streaming down my face. I really can’t believe what just happened. That’s so not like him. Not like us. All of this came from left field. We were bestfriends, then best friends who fucked, and now we’re nothing.
What the fuck happened?
—---
I haven’t seen Joe since last winter break. Everyone would ask what happened between us, but I refused to talk about it.
I was laying in my room since I was back for spring break when there was a light knock at my door.
“Come in.” I yelled.
“Y/N, someone is here to see you love.” She whispered.
Before I could respond she stepped to the side and I saw that last person in the world I wanted to. It was fucking Joe.
“I’m not doing this.” I said as I got up to go close my door before he could walk in.
“Y/N don’t be like this.” He said. I could tell it took a lot for him to do this. He sounded defeated before he even started.
I just stood there and stared at him, giving him a hurry up before I change my mind glare.
“I want to say sorry. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you. I miss you so much dude.” He whispered.
I didn’t have much to say so I just pulled him into a hug. His touch and scent were so familiar, I didn’t realize I missed him so much.
God, I had missed him so much.
We were still holding onto eachother when he began pressing kisses onto the top of my head. We coudn’t let go of eachother. We both had salty tears running down our faces.
“Joe, I’ve missed you too. Watching you all over instagram twitter has sucked but I’ve been so proud of you.” I said.
“I can’t explain how sorry I am for that night. I don’t mean any of the shit I said. You mean more to me than just sex. I’m in love with you Y/N and I can’t keep it from you anymore.” He whimpered.
I finally pulled away from him and just stared into those comforting eyes I had missed so much. We both layed down onto my bed, tangled in each other's arms.
We caught up on everything we had missed in eachothers lives. We shared spaced out kisses the entire night, falling asleep cuddling with the other.
After we were completely caught up I felt Joe’s energy shift. He pushed himself closer to me and tightened his grip on one of my hips.
“Y/N, let me show you how much I missed you. Please, I’m begging.” He whispered as he began to place soft wet kisses onto my neck and shoulder.
“Show me J.” I responded quickly.
He swiftly flipped me onto my back and put his body on top of mine all while connecting his lips to mine, refusing to let any space come between our bodies.
“I love you Y/N, I always have.” He whispered.
“I know you have Joey, I promise I love you just the same.” I responded.

i don’t know if you’ve answered this question but do you think all of taylor’s relationships were real to an extent. Like baylor for example, was it just PR to give them both a boost or do you think they actually had a relationship and slept together or joe jonas
real- joe jonas, martin johnson, jake, calvin, joe and jury’s out on matty but i’m leaning real
fake- taylor lautner, connor kennedy, harry, hiddleston
there’s other ships like lucas till and stuff but taylor also loves a fling and infatuation.
some of this is just instinct and some of it confirmed by tea i trust but at the end of the day it’s all speculation so don’t quote me on this

Los Angeles Clippers Add Earl Cureton in Trade with Chicago Bulls
Tumblr media
On February 11th, 1987, the Chicago Bulls traded forward Earl Cureton to the Los Angeles Clippers for a 1989 second round draft pick (Chucky Brown).
After the emergence of power forward Charles Oakley, the Chicago Bulls were in need of a role player in the frontcourt. Looking to deal away Sidney Green, the Bulls settled on Earl Cureton and a second round pick.
Cureton was a starter with the Bulls mostly, playing in 43 games and producing 6.9 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 1.6 APG and 0.6 BPG in 25.7 MPG. Built around superstar Michael Jordan, Chicago began the 1986-87 season 5-1. Chicago would hover around .500 for much of the season, and was 23-23 when it decided to trade Cureton after about half of a season.
Cureton was unhappy with his role in Chicago as he described in his book Earl the Twirl: My Life in Basketball (102):
"By February 11, 1987, after just 43 games, I was history with the Bulls, traded to the Los Angeles Clippers for a second round pick. Coach [Doug] Collins, still just in his first year with the team, got his way, and I was gone. He's been pissed off at me after our spat and must have told [Bulls general manager Jerry] Krause to send me away—the worse the team the better. "I'd heard I might have been sent to Utah for small forward Carey Scurry, who as at odds with coach Frank Layden there. But in the end, it was the Clippers. I didn't like the idea of getting traded twice in one year. The optics of that weren't great. But so be it. "In some ways, I was surprised to be let go. Krause, the Bulls' general manger (sic), liked me a lot. He said he wanted me in Chicago. But turnover was the name of the game."
As part of the trade, the draft pick had protections on it. If Cureton made the Clippers roster for the 1987-88 season, The Clippers would owe Chicago a second round pick. If not, the Bulls would receive a third round pick.
Four days after the trade, the Bulls rerouted the future pick received from the Clippers to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a trade for 6-9 forward Ben Poquette. In the 1989 draft, the Cavaliers selected NC State forward Chucky Brown 43rd overall with the pick.
Tumblr media
Cureton joined a Los Angeles Clippers franchise in the midst of a terrible season. The team was 7-40 when Cureton debuted and went 5-30 the rest of the way to finish 12-70. The mark was the second-worst single-season record in NBA history at the time. Cureton appeared in 35 games (11 starts) with the Clippers, compiling 7.7 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 1.5 APG, 0.5 SPG and 0.9 BPG in 24.8 MPG.
In the 1987 offseason, the Clippers fired head coach Don Chaney and hired Gene Shue to replace him. The team had three first round picks, selecting Reggie Williams, Joe Wolf and Ken Norman with the picks.
Cureton became a free agent. He was a holdout and missed most of training camp before re-signing on a one-year deal for $265,000.
The Clippers began the 1987-88 campaign a respectable 7-10 but was awful after, going 5-40 over the next 45 games. Los Angeles finished the season 17-65. Cureton saw a dip in minutes, playing in 69 contests (11 starts). The 6-foot-9 player managed 4.3 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 0.9 APG, 0.5 SPG and 0.5 BPG in 16.3 MPG.
After the season, Cureton became a free agent again after the Clippers released him. He went on to sign a three-year deal with the Charlotte Hornets. The third year was a team option. Cureton ended his Clippers tenure with 5.5 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 1.1 APG, 0.5 SPG and 0.6 BPG in 104 career games. He shot 45% from the field and 54% from the free-throw line in that time.
Tumblr media
Chicago Bulls general manager Jerry Krause on the decision to move Cureton (via UPI):
"We hated to part with Earl but we feel the development of our young players like Charles Oakley, Brad Sellers and Mike Brown along with veterans Gene Banks and Dave Corzine gives us good front-line stability."
Los Angeles Clippers executive vice president Elgin Baylor on adding Cureton (via UPI):
"The acquisition of Earl will help to strengthen our play on the frontline. Earl has played both the center and power forward position, which is a big bonus."

President Joe Biden touches Johnson’s casket while paying his respects to the longtime lawmaker during a brief appearance at Concord Church in Dallas. Johnson played a key role in Biden’s 2020 presidential primary victory in Texas.

‘Unnecessary’ death
At one point during the funeral, Johnson’s friend and lawyer, Les Weisbrod, brought up the controversy surrounding her death. Her family intends to sue Baylor Scott & White Health System, alleging that negligent care at the hospital’s rehabilitation center led to her death. A statement from Baylor Scott & White said representatives are committed to working with the family and their counsel.
“I never expected Eddie Bernice Johnson to be one of my medical malpractice cases,” Weisbrod said at the funeral. “It is important for the world to know that Eddie Bernice Johnson opposed the law that devalued human life. No human being that dies from medical negligence in the state of Texas should have to suffer further with a $250,000 cap on that life.”
Weisbrod called on Gov. Greg Abbott and Texas lawmakers to change the law to increase the damages victims can receive in malpractice cases.
Kirk Johnson also alluded to the lawsuit, calling his mother’s death “untimely and unnecessary,” but added that “God knows best.”

[ad_1] BYU will go back 18 starters, however the point of interest might be on including intensity within the remaining offseason ahead of the Large 12.(Trevor Christensen | Particular to The Tribune) Brigham Younger College's Jaren Corridor runs the ball towards Virginia all over the second one part at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, in Provo.  | Feb. 1, 2022, 1:00 p.m. | Up to date: Feb. 2, 2022, 4:04 p.m.If remaining 12 months was once all about roster upheaval for BYU, then let the theme of 2022 be continuity. While BYU changed 13 starters in 2021, this 12 months this system will go back 18 of its 22 major members. That being stated, continuity doesn’t essentially translate to a loss of questions in regards to the roster. BYU has so as to add intensity at a number of positions. If remaining 12 months uncovered anything else, it confirmed BYU’s back-end ability isn't just right sufficient to compete persistently on the Energy 5 stage. So this offseason — the remaining ahead of this system joins the Large 12 — a focus might be on head trainer Kalani Sitake as he acquires and develops ability past the beginning 11.Here's a breakdown of ways BYU’s roster appears to be like forward of Nationwide Signing Day this Wednesday.Who's leaving? The obvious, and important, loss is Tyler Allgeier. BYU’s All-American working again determined to forgo his final 12 months of eligibility to go into the NFL draft. Allgeier ran for 1,606 yards and 23 touchdowns remaining 12 months — a program report. His stage of manufacturing might be just about inconceivable to switch with one individual. Two different losses are the huge receiver combo of Neil Pau’u and Samson Nacua. Each signed with an agent. Pau’u led the crew in catches and had over 500 yards receiving. Nacua, in his restricted begins, accounted for 4 touchdowns. The remaining domino to fall is James Empey. The four-year starter at the offensive line neglected six video games remaining 12 months, so BYU has some enjoy changing him. That stated, on every occasion a long-term middle leaves, it's tricky to conquer. The protection simplest has one graduate, Uriah Leiataua. He began the season-opener however went out and in of the beginning lineup. Leiataua has now not signed with an agent and it's unclear whether or not he's going to pursue an NFL occupation.Who's coming again?Gunner Romney tops this listing for BYU. The huge receiver stunned other folks when he introduced he would use his COVID 12 months of eligibility and go back subsequent 12 months. Romney had an injury-riddled season in 2021, however was once a possible NFL draft select. His go back is a large deal for the huge receiver staff. If Romney had determined to depart, BYU would have returned just one starter. Now, this system has extra of a cushion to carry alongside first-time starters like Keanu Hill and Chase Roberts. The opposite primary construction is the go back of offensive lineman Joe Tukuafu. The offensive line was once already in just right form ahead of Tukuafa used his COVID 12 months of eligibility, however now the gang will go back 4 of 5 starters. What are we not sure about?BYU had 8 avid gamers hit the switch portal this offseason. Six of them haven’t discovered a brand new house. This implies six may theoretically go back to this system.Backup quarterback Baylor Romney put his identify within the portal, however the ones across the program perceive there's some probability he may come again. Some other wild card is huge receiver Chris Jackson, who may be within the portal. Jackson will have vied for a beginning place with the departure of Pau’u and Nacua. What are the largest wishes on offense? With quarterback Jaren Corridor returning, the 2 greatest wishes are working backs and intensity. On the working again spot, BYU will most probably substitute Allgeier with a committee of transfers and returning avid gamers.Lopini Katoa has made a number of begins right through his occupation at working again and is a favourite to win the activity.
Cal switch Chris Brooks can also be within the combine to take the lion’s percentage of the carries. More youthful backs like Miles Davis and Jackson McChesney may sneakily compete for time. All 4 will most probably get carries. Finally, changing 23 touchdowns is not any small feat.As for the remainder of the offense, BYU might be curious about including intensity. Within the huge receiver room, Romney and Puka Nacua will anchor the beginning positions. However there are more youthful receivers that may play better roles.Keanu Hill, a former Texas recruit, is getting into his 3rd 12 months and may make a bounce. Chase Roberts, even supposing coming off an damage remaining 12 months, is a herbal goal at 6-foot-4. And previous Mater Dei product Kody Epps may compete for time in spring follow. At tight finish, BYU is searching for tactics to construct off its core of Isaac Rex and Dallin Holker. However the precedence is getting Rex wholesome once more after a season-ending damage. Finally, the offensive line might be fascinating just because there are a number of skilled avid gamers competing for one open spot. Seven offensive lineman at the roster have began a recreation at BYU. That doesn't come with five-star signee Kingsley Suamataia. So, the overall spot up for grabs will most probably grow to be a combat between senior Harris LeChance, sophomore Campbell Barrington and Suamataia. What are the largest wishes on protection?Taking a look on the intensity chart, BYU is returning all of its starters from a 12 months in the past. However make no mistake, protection is the place this system has probably the most paintings to do.The line of defense is the largest fear. The Cougars lacked constant playmakers remaining season. This 12 months, the most obvious applicants to step up are Tyler Batty and Gabe Summers. The safeties also are an unknown. Malik Moore is coming again and had 3 interceptions. Out of doors of that, BYU wishes fortify. Chaz Ah You and George Udo have had spurts the place they're constant. However Udo has a historical past of accidents and Ah You has slid backward and forward from linebacker. The linebacker staff is probably the most proficient unit. Keenan Pili and Payton Wilgar stay BYU’s best possible NFL potentialities. However what occurs in the event that they get harm? Perhaps Ben Bywater will proceed his breakout 12 months from 2021 and Ah That you must additionally assist in the market. [ad_2] #BYU #soccer #roster #breakdown #forward #Nationwide #Signing #Day

Hiii 🍭I was wondering what your favorite story is that you've written?
hi!!! thank you so much for the question! it's a funny coincidence, i have thought about that recently and it's so hard to pick just one. 😔 my ultimate favourite might be to be so lonely (part 1 & part 2)! i remember just seeing joe baylor on the phone and i ran with it, writing something super self-indulgent. it's the fic i have read the most times too, which i rarely do. i also love set fire to the rain. writing for danny is both so fun and so incredibly exhausting because, well, he is exhausting, but i had a blast writing it. i guess that there is a correlation between an exhausting writing process and a good fic in my opinion because the next two left me TIRED. 😭 shadow speaking & leg lock were so painful to write, they took so long too! but they're definitely some of my best work. okay, i'm plugging one more fic but cherish (part 1 & part 2) is a story that i most definitely cherish (pun very intended). it's got food, it's got jake, it's got jake making food. so what more could i want? i peaked with them, truly. i'm not even kidding! 😭 i set my own bar way too high, but i'm glad to have peaked with these fics because i love them a lot and that means a lot to me that i appreciate my own work.
thank you for this opportunity to ramble about my stories! i loved doing it!!! no, but seriously, if i compare something like leg lock to my very first fics on here, it's crazy how much they changed! thank you again for the ask! 🥰❤️

The College Football Schedule 2023
The 2023 college football schedule features several exciting matchups with major repercussions. These games pit historical rivals or feature top-ranked teams whose contest could shape its narrative. Nick Saban's Georgia Bulldogs must avenge last season's 42-7 defeat that tilted the head-to-head record against them and restore equilibrium between teams in Tennessee and Georgia. Alabama-Georgia On Wednesday, major college football networks released game times and gave fans one step closer to learning when some of the sport's marquee games will take place. Georgia fans can look forward to an action-packed 2023 schedule that features trips to Alabama and Texas as well as home matchups against Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Georgia and Alabama will meet for the first time since Alabama visited Williams-Brice Stadium in 2015 for their last meeting, making this matchup all the more consequential for Georgia fans. Expected SEC MVP Joe Milton is expected to lead his squad during 2023 so this matchup could prove pivotal in shaping Georgia's fate this season. Nick Saban of Alabama boasts an outstanding win percentage (.878) over 17 seasons as head coach at his school and hopes to return to the College Football Playoff for a third consecutive year, but will need his team to navigate a challenging conference slate first. Ole Miss is Georgia's other key non-conference test in terms of non-conference matchups, and this matchup should provide an indicator of its effectiveness as Kirby Smart steps into Lane Kiffin's shoes as Georgia coach. Furthermore, it will serve as an effective barometer of progress made on defense over the past year after giving up more points than any SEC opponent last season. Texas-Kansas Last season, the Kansas Jayhawks were one of college football's pleasant surprises. Led by quarterback Jalon Daniels and an excellent defense, their program made strides in the second half to finish at 6-7. 2023 is looking promising as they return to Big 12 play with a strong schedule that includes home matches against Texas and Iowa State. The Longhorns' final season in the Big 12 conference has been scheduled, featuring six home games, five road games and their annual match-up against Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl. Texas will play Baylor, TCU and Texas Tech at home while also traveling to Kansas and Kansas State away. BYU and Houston join UT as new Big 12 members completing UT's schedule for 2016. 2016 college football standings will open their season by hosting Rice on Sept. 2 before traveling to Alabama and Tuscaloosa on Sept. 9 before wrapping up non-conference play in Austin against Wyoming on Sept. 11. Ohio State-Penn State With college football season being less than 100 days away, fans are finally taking one step closer to seeing when and how to watch their teams. Major television networks on Wednesday will unveil their schedule selections, giving fans a look into what awaits for 2023 season. The Big Ten released its conference schedule Wednesday, and Penn State-Penn State earned top billing as the event of the week. Greg McElroy believes Penn State has an edge this year thanks to having quarterback Drew Allar back. Iowa can make things interesting, though, thanks to running back Nicholas Singleton returning from injury and an exciting offensive team led by newcomer Cade McNamara. Iowa could pose a formidable test for Ohio State's defense at Kinnick Stadium and this game may take on an unpredictable tone as fans anticipate a wild encounter between rival teams. Ohio State should be able to regain momentum against Indiana at home and win convincingly - their offense ranked among the worst nationally last season! That game should make for exciting viewing as Indiana has one of the worst offensive units. Notre Dame-Wake Forest If you're on the hunt for college football tickets 2023, this matchup between Wake Forest Demon Deacons and Notre Dame Fighting Irish should not be missed. Both teams possess amazing talent that make this contest exciting to watch. Last time these teams faced each other it was an exciting contest; Notre Dame managed to overcome early struggles and come away victorious by a final score of 90-74. Notre Dame experienced shooting difficulties of their own; hitting only 38% from the field and 19% from 3-point range while losing three key players due to injuries. While Notre Dame may have lost their playoff hopes with that loss, they still have an opportunity to make a strong run in 2019. Their next matchups include home matches against Boston College and a trip to Syracuse's Carrier Dome where their Deacons have never managed to take a win there - they must start strong if they hope for any chance at an upset victory there. Wake Forest's defense has been one of the nation's strongest this season. They've held opponents to less than one point per game while their pass rushers have been phenomenal. Wake Forest's secondary has also performed admirably with Duke Ejiofor and Cormac Ryan providing outstanding coverage respectively.
