born with a rare illness with no cure, it is thanks to the efforts of highly specialized doctors that they are able to live to their age. their symptoms get worse and are hospitalized during the release of bakugan. bored out of his mind, they spend their days playing bakugan and while they're not all that good, the game entertained him enough to start one of the first and most popular fan spaces.
they're basically a discord mod. they met chan in a battle and was so entranced by her vibes (and the fact that he's lonely as shit) wanted to be her friend so bad. who knew a discord mod had game!
i really like the idea that vestroian energy can affect a person's physiology. wavern's infinity core cured jo, which imbedded him with positive energy (or whatever the infinity energy is called) and partially changed his hair and eye color. you can see their freckles glow like stars if you get close to them.
the effects of the infinity core make you look like a pretty boy. i think an overload of infinity energy should make you explode in light. these effects is only a 0.000001% of the full strength of the infinity core.

Joe Brown's name in the Japan dub
Just realized something while re-watching a sub 22 and 23 episodes of season 1. Jo's first name in the japan dub is actually "Osamu". Chan gives the official name of "Webmaster Jo" which is "Jo Osamu" (in first name last name format; Osamu Jo). This is likely in Japanese and the convention when introducing yourself or another person is by saying their last name first followed by their first name, unless the name is foreign. His mom calls him "Osamu-chan" and I doubt there is any case of a parent(in anime) calling their own child by their last name rather their first. He is often addressed as "Jo" by battlers and other characters his age because he is better known by them as "Webmaster Jo" rather than "Jo Osamu".
