The script makes Joe look like the responsible one in the relationship what an unexpected plot twist

i was thinking abt that last night! ive said this before, but its kind of crazy how little we rlly know abt these characters based off the comics + the movie, and the fact that when looking at this script we really cant quite tell whats 'didnt make it into the movie bc there was just no time' and whats 'didnt make it into the movie bc it was decided it was dumb/ooc'.

i mean is this an aspect of their relationship we were just wholly unaware of until now or is it something that was veered away from over the course of filming?? no way to say for sure
