Dick froze halfway across a rooftop, the lights and gunshots of Bludhaven disappearing in an instant. A scowl flashed across his face, teeth clenched and bared, before he forced it back. His face smoothed back out and his voice took on a pleasant, amused tone. "Slade. How did you get this frequency?"

"Nevermind that," Slade scolded. "We have more important things that need discussing, and information to be revealed."

"Is this about Constantinople?" He asked with a lilt, propping one hand on his hip. "Because I thought I told you, those geese totally counted as villains and deserved arrest--"

"I found a child vigilante. What do I do with it?"

"Ex-cuse me?" His fist clenched. "Is this a trick question?"

"No."

"What do you mean, 'what do I do with it?' You know what to do with it; you become its nemisis when their 15 and haunted them for the next decade." His voice was thinly-veiled rage. He couldn't stop himself from shaking. That poor kid, Slade has his sights set on them. He's going to torture that kid, or worse, and now I have to track Slade's trail back to wherever he found this kid--

"I can't do that! He's only eight years old!"

"What?"

"There's this eight year old meta brat running around a Mid-West town in his pajamas while adults shoot at him. There isn't a mentor in sight, and one of the kid's rogues has threatened to skin him. What. Do. I. Do?"

obviously sladewing is my main fandom ship but ngl I’m a big fan of jeriwing too (and I wouldn’t mind if DC brought their relationship back and made them canon since they’re already giving us bisexual Dick content) and the thought that’s especially appealing to me when it comes to them is Slade and Bruce being the worst fathers in law in history

they couldn’t attend their sons wedding because security made them leave after they threw hands on parking lot (and Jason and Rose cheered, not to them, to security), they fought over each others steak skills and preferences and completely destroyed family grill party, they have an ongoing war over gift giving to their sons because they’re petty like that and can’t lose to each other

Joey and Dick are so done with them they considered faking their deaths and fucking off to a different country

Sorry to bother you, do you have any thoughts on what Joey and Dick would be like as a couple.

No bother at all! I’m bored out of my skin in quarantine. Ask away!

So since Joey is canonically bisexual, and Dick is only coded as such, I headcanon that Joey is Dick’s bi-awakening. In the live-action Titans, Dick stands stunned after Jericho hugs him, and moves his fingers as if they’re still tingling with feelings. Later, Adeline accuses Dick of “seducing” her son, and the Bruce-skinned voice in Dick’s head says that both Slade and Dick loved Jericho.

In the comics they’re never together romantically, but they have one of the strongest bromances I’ve ever seen. I can’t remember if they throw love bombs around or not, but they’re awfully friendly.

I think at first Dick would run and hide from his feelings--deny them as much as possible, and avoid Joey just as much. It would take someone else on the team talking sense into Dick for him to own up to said feelings. Joey would probably be surprised when Dick finally admits to it--he’s probably written Dick off as straight at this point. He’d probably need lots of reassurance early on. But Dick keeps making gestures--getting more fluent in ASL, buying Joey paints he knows he likes and records that he’s missing in his collection. Joey’s the one to get physical first--all of this is so new for Dick, so they take things slow. They don’t due much PDA, at first, but both realize they’re big cuddlers and so they get more and more affectionate as time goes on.

Bruce already knew for years, so he’s obnoxiously not shocked when Dick brings Joey home. And Joey could care less what his dad thinks, but he’s nervous to spill the news to Adeline--not because she doesn’t accept his sexuality, because she’s his biggest supporter, but because he knows his mothers is insanely protective. Rose is all “ABOUT TIME YOU FUCKING IDIOTS” and she goes back to punching a bag. She also teases them relentlessly about wedding ideas even though they just started dating.

How do you think the batboys would be if they found out the person they were dating was another one of Slade's kids (and probably inherited some kind of ability from his experimental genetics) that they'd never heard of before?

Dick- stresssss like he has been fighting this guy forever. Checks her, has to be sure that they weren’t on their dad’s side or anything. But he’d get over it if he knew there wasn’t anything going on like that. Will probably get them to train their powers.

Jason- protective. And canon lmao. He dated rose Wilson. Married her in an alternate universe.

Tim- stress 2.0. Similar to Dick but also worried that she’s being secretly used by her father or tracked or something. Would offer help with powers if they want it but won’t push like Dick.

Damian- literally not surprised. Is there anyone on earth that isn’t related to a powered person or vigilante? Has “my dad sucks too” convos.

Cass- would have the “my parent sucks” convo 2.0. And also would share the non lethal stuff she learned from Bruce.

Oh btw Joey is Slade’s son and is like the sweetest dude in canon. And he’s played by a trans deaf guy in the Titans tv show and he’s really handsome. Beautiful eyes.
