Fun Fact
BuzzFeed published a report claiming that Tumblr was utilized as a distribution channel for Russian agents to influence American voting habits during the 2016 presidential election in Feb 2018.
soap who runs a podcast wherein he’ll explain and discuss complex science processes in a way that doesn’t make learners feel dumb or left out, but also is engaging for more advanced and knowledgeable listeners who are familiar with concepts.
he’ll often have guests, usually fellow science people who maybe have more expertise than him on certain topics, but sometimes he’ll just bring in others to have a better perspective on questions and details someone less science-y might want to know.
one day, a guest has to pull out last minute, so soap asks his boyfriend ghost if he’d like to try out an episode—if he doesn’t like it, soap can just re-record and post something else no problem. but ghost agrees—by osmosis of just being around soap for so long he’s pretty knowledgeable in the realm of science himself, and, really, it’d be a wasted opportunity to hear his boyfriend rant about something he loves for an hour.
everything goes well—episode goes up, and… people are already demanding ghost to return. his deep, rough voice combined with being relatively evenly matched with soap in terms of that day’s concept made for a great listen—though, perhaps the fact that they have great chemistry as a cause of their relationship also plays a part in the episode’s positive reception.
so ghost becomes a semi-regular. he’d hate to impede on soap’s thing entirely, but he doesn’t mind returning every once in a while whenever soap plans on talking about something ghost is familiar enough with. there just seems to be an extra ounce of passion from soap whenever it’s ghost as a guest, though no one’s aware it’s because they’re dating.
image ID: the destiel breaking news meme, but after cas says "i love you", dean replies:
cas, danaher corporation and it’s subsidiary company cepheid are still charging tuberculosis (TB) patients in low- and middle-income countries $10–$20 to access quick and accurate testing despite the fact that cepheid’s genexpert machine tests were developed with at least $252 million in taxpayer money and doctors without borders found out that the tests only cost $3–$4.50 to produce. TB is a major cause of death and disability, not to mention that the inaccessibility of these tests leads to the spread of drug resistant TB around the globe.

honestly the green brothers have spent the majority of their online careers doing more in the name of actual, tangible charity and educational access than pretty much any other internet personality i can think of and yet a large portion of this website chooses to instead focus on winning the Bitter Fuck contest about cringe things they said on tumblr 10 years ago
The Green brothers are great, fun creators and never deserved the hate they got on tumblr. Yes John got the most of it but Hank was called cringe and all they ever really did was exist on the internet earnestly and not be super ironic or sarcastic and just want to create a space for nerds that is completely different to the persecuted nerd men that dominate on spaces like twitter and Reddit. Nerdfighteria was a movement populated by nerdy teen women (and guys as well!) and it just wanted to be welcoming.
