That ask earlier reminded me of how much i love paintings of the Fae
One of my favourites is Hylas and the Nymphs, an 1896 oil painting by John William Waterhouse
I saw it at someone's house once and it just captivated me, the way the nymphs are drawing Hylas towards the water, where they'll likely drown him, and he is so entranced that he doesn't realise what theyre going to do to him. Thats my interpretation of it at least, other people might think something different.
Every time i look at this painting im just as entranced and unable to look away as Hylas.

Wide, Quiet Eyes
Winding gray days away
on spools she waits.
Third window from the left,
breath on imperfect glass
holds last winter’s chill.
Soundless hinges sweep.
...counting footsteps
of familiar shoes on king's pine.
Lover, her ivory bloom
has fallen to the ground.
Peel away layers
of wind-dried sheets
and discover a little animal waiting at the edge
of the orchard
before it ventures forth.
Time now to taste
early autumn’s
mellow apple flesh
with your Puritan mouth,
warm and flushed from sleep without dream,
its texture vulnerable and unafraid
against your teeth.
Wide, quiet eyes
like a foal before it stands
watch with no expression.
Just one gasp:
a pinprick when dark hair slides
across a mother of pearl curve
...a lucid undulation.
If there is danger,
instinct has failed
to alarm.
She has emerged from
the column of alabaster
she entombs herself in
to be alive for your hands.
When you go away
she will pull snow lace
to her throat and shrug on
a mantle of white
until you come again.
