ok literally fuck every post that says this is the end of #MeToo
this is showing that someone cannot abuse the system and the #MeToo movement for their own gain by lying and perjuring themselves constantly on the stand.
amber heard is an abuser. end of story. if you can't see that, don't talk to me.

The audio that did it for me in the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial was that one where she tells him “I love you” and he says “then don’t smack me in the ear like that, it makes my head fucking resonate when you hit me like that”
That was the one that truly broke my heart.
Because that’s one awful part of the abuse. Where the victims try to “negotiate” with the abuser about getting hurt in those places where it hurts the least. Where he tells the abuser not to stop abusing him, but to not abuse him “like that” because it hurts more. Trying to negotiate the way she hits him - because he accepts being hit, he’s already gotten beaten down to that point - but tries to beg her not to beat him on the ears because it makes his head resonate.
It was the weary voice he had in this recording and the supplicating tone. It was the attempted firmness, but worst of all, the attempted justification as to why slapping him across the ears shouldn’t be done.
Not because hitting is bad. But because hitting there hurts. Having to justify why he shouldn’t be hit there.
He had already internalised and accepted the fact that he was being abused. That’s the most heartbreaking part.

cw this post is about people acting like freaks about the heard/depp defamation case and involves ableism, misogyny, biphobia. feel free 2 rb if you so desire but please also feel more than free to scroll past if you're as sick of hearing about it as i am
i have no personal opinion on the depp/heard situation because refuse to look into it enough to actually learn the facts of the case. but the way people are talking about heard in particular in a very gendered "she's a mentally ill bitch of course she's making it all up" way is really truly disgusting. like if she is lying and depp really was abused by her and not the other way around then ok, again i literally do not know, but once you start throwing mentally ill people under the bus and calling women crazy lying cunts and being like "as if that would ever happen 🤣" when they talk about the details of their alleged abuse i think you're just an ableist misogynist and you need to get pushed off a cliff like asap.
like im not surprised by any of it but i am so enraged and saddened by all the people being like "she was diagnosed with BPD and people with BPD are ABUSIVE CONTROL FREAKS" and "she's histrionic which for those who don't know is basically SEVERE NARCISSISM they are psychotic manipulators let this be a lesson to stay AWAY from these people they're EVIL" "she's definitely a sociopath narcissist that's why she abused him i was in a relationship with a narcissist and-" like god shut the fuck uppppp. i hate every single one of you ableist fucking losers all these disorders people are attributing to her (regardless of if she has them or not, i do not know) are already so uniquely stigmatized and im genuinely worried this whole shitshow will exacerbate the problem and make things even worse.
also the way people are talking about her fucking facial expressions like "no real abuse victim would ever act like that" "if she was really abused she wouldn't have to fake cry" as if people haven't been using that against abuse victims for fucking???? forever????? because people have these preconceived notions of how we should feel and behave and speak and whether or not we're taken seriously is so often hinged on how well we live up to these notions. which, yes, sometimes does actually mean FAKING CERTAIN EMOTIONS. i have literally done this myself. it's not something only liars and abusers do. if the evidence shows that she abused him then thats literally all anyone should need. rely on the actual facts of the case, whatever they may be. do not be dragging survivors everywhere through the mud because you're a fucking freak who wants to police our expressions and feelings and tone thanks die
(see also: "if she was abused by him why would she still proposition him for sex/want to cuddle with him/etc?" it actually happens all the time. shut the fuck up)
ok and i don't think there's any reason to go very far into the sexist rhetoric on both sides because anyone with even a single tiny sliver of a brain would be able to see how horrible it is so moving on from that. the fact that ive seen people be like "poor johnny.... she's bisexual so she probably cheated on him too 🤣" ummmm once again. die. like fr. i hate you
again i cannot state clearly enough this is not a reflection of my opinion on who is guilty or whatever. i do not know because i haven't looked closely into the case. but despite my best efforts i still have been exposed to it and i think its inexcusable that people are treating it like a fandom war and whipping out like every possible form of bigotry to justify which "team" they're on. and im really genuinely worried for the damage this is going to do to the public's perception of abuse/mental illness/etc which is especially worrying because we were already so fucked up in all of those arenas and we really do not need things to get worse.

Okay so while Johnny Depp won the trial, Amber Heard technically lost, but I just got a Twitter notif, and it was a post from a woman who claims she's studying domestic abuse and provides a lot of evidence on how Amber Heard actually was abused and Johnny Depp wasn't yet people believe Johnny Depp because he was like, Jack Sparrow or something. I don't know what to believe anymore. I feel like this is going to destroy the future trust of people who know others who have or will be abused and there is nothing we can do about it

1. JOHNNY DEPP IS AN ABUSER.
2.AMBER HEARD IS AN ABUSER.
So stop glamorizing d*pp. He has been legally categorized as an abuser.
It's neither a win nor a loss. They both are shitty people and they both have been abusive.
The way media and people have glamorized Depp's image, and not called him out for beating his wife, I think that's a loss.
We are entering a scary period of time now on.

I still feel bad that Amber Heard may have actually been abused. I watched Lance Bass’ TikTok of her testimony and while it was cognitively funny to me, I couldn’t outright laugh at it. I felt guilty just for smiling at it.
The way she described having been on the couch and having found her way to the carpet, the way she talks of the carpet being dirty sounds like one of the most genuine things that could go through someone’s mind when being abused.
Like, imagine you got into an argument with your mother. And at some point she slaps you right across your face. Now here you are seething, crying in anger but holding tears back and you just start thinking “why did I say that? I shouldn’t have said that” and then you notice the smallest bit of detail across the room and now you start to wonder why your food is still on table when you could’ve sworn you put it in the fridge.
It’s a distraction from what just happened so you can calm yourself down. You don’t realize it, but it’s a defense mechanism. You’re just not going to continue the fight after having been hit. Your head just doesn’t seem to think it’s worth it so it focuses on something else entirely to get your mind off of it.
Things like this can happen even when we aren’t abused or hit. Someone gets into an argument with their significant other and somehow in the next five minutes, they’re scrubbing the dirt away at their already clean tub just to feel like they need something to do. Some people just have different ways of coping with emotions and some people honestly get so confused as to what to do in certain situations.
So while I’m not sure if Amber Heard is being truthful or not, we can’t laugh at such a genuine statement where there are actual victims in this world who’ve felt this EXACT same way. When we laugh at Amber Heard for details like this, we laugh at all the others who’ve experienced abuse the way she describes it.
If you don’t believe Amber Heard, fine. But keep your TikToks to yourself. Ugh, it’s already bad enough that I’m typing this out of guilt. I feel so freaking icky

I’m really glad that Johnny Depp won but we have a lot more work to do.
There are SO MANY CASES of abuse, in every form, that never see the light of day. That don’t get taken seriously or don’t get the justice they deserve. Victims of abuse don’t get an all-star lawyer team or an Internet full of memes towards their abuser or millions of dollars. There are those who suffer in silence or fight for their justice and everything gets taken away from them in a snap.
They are mostly alone and they have to be left to their own trauma. Or left to be haunted by their abuser for the rest of their life.
The entirety of how we deal with abuse cases needs to be CHANGED ENTIRELY. What we witnessed for the last six weeks isn’t reality; that’s what people with money get to have. People like me, people like my best friend, men, women, children, ANYONE that has had to deal with abuse in their lives get thrown in the deep end of a system that DOES NOT WORK.

To take a person who’s suffered continuous physical and mental abuse in their childhood by their mother, and to abuse them all over again, physically and mentally, to record that and to gloat over your abuse of them…
…and then, to top it all of, to accuse that person you’re abusing (knowing that they’re more likely to take the abuse since they’ve been abused in childhood) of abusing YOU… it takes extreme levels of cruelty.
It’s so evil, so cartoonishly evil. And then to laugh while he’s retelling his abuse. While pretending to cry while you’re lying over them abusing you.
And to lie all over again to people who have just heard you admitting that you hit that person that you accused of hitting you.
An incredible amount of cruelty indeed.

almost all of these insults are from 12-13 before even Depp himself says he was abused. So what now.
these comments are just “reactive abuse.” nah. saying u want to r4pe ur wife’s burning corpse is not reactive abuse. that is the sign of a very sick man.
