Joji Matsuoka Shoko and Mutsuki get married to satisfy their worried parents, but Shoko is well past the age at which a 'good' Japanese woman should marry, and Mutsuki has a lover he can't live without, a male college student named Kon who ends up meeting his wife on accident. All three are still young, all trying to construct an alternative to the sexual and familial roles given to them by a society turning increasingly emotionally barren. (link in title)

#1 Hanako-San
Is a popular urban legend about the spirit of a young girl who haunts school bathrooms. It is very popular among Japanese children who sometimes dare their friends to summon her as a test of courage. Similar to most urban legends her origins vary on different accounts some say that she might of committed suicide in a school bathroom or that she was killed during a air raid during World War II.
To summon her, a person must go to the third floor of a school and enter the girls bathroom, go to the third stall and knock three times and say “ Are you there Hanako-San?” Then they should hear a voice saying “Yes I am.” What happens next depends on the story. Sometimes they’ll witness Hanako-San herself, who is a young girl with a bob wearing a red skirt. They may see bloody hand which will forcefully drag the person to hell through the toilet. Or they could be eaten by a three headed lizard. Some say that if you are a star student she won’t bother you
You could say she’s like the Japanese version of bloody mary in a way.
She’s also inspired movies like “Toire no Hanako-san” directed by Joji Matsuoka in 1995 and mangas like “Jibaku shounen hanako-kun” that now has an anime adaptation.
Who knows maybe if you’re still in school you can try summoning her yourself.

Midnight Diner (2009) [La Cantina de Medianoche, Shinya shokudo]
Tumblr media
¡Atención, esta crítica contiene alguos spoilers!
Título original: Shinya shokudô
Dirección: Joji Matsuoka, Nobuhiro Yamashita
Guion: Katsuhiko Manabe, Kôsuke Mukai, [Historia: Yaro Abe (manga)]
Elenco: Kaoru Kobayashi, Toshiki Ayata, Mansaku Fuwa, Shohei Uno, Kiyobumi Kaneko, Takashi Yamanaka, Risa Sudo, Asako Kobayashi, Nahoko Yoshimoto, Joe Odagiri, Yuko Genkaku, Ryo Iwase, Tamae Ando, Yutaka Matsushige
País: Japón
Año: 2009
Tempordas: 5

Deep respect to Ao-chan for voicing out her honest opinion.
I will not touch on this. Honestly, there are many things I want to say. But I don't want it to end with simply empathising with someone else's "how sad." This is something I must ponder upon, feel mad about, be saddened, and pray about on my own. This place isn't a platform for me to share those feelings. That's because I don't know what kind of relationships the people looking at this may have with the incident. I want to be like an idiot, sharing only fun things, intentionally.
It looks like it's because many people were asking her to address it and were semi-criticizing her for tweeting about having fun at Osaka when there's this whole fuss about KyoAni a few hours back (source).
She added later on here:
Nevertheless, this does not mean that I am denying the people who are tweeting about it now. I merely felt that I should not be commenting on a public platform when I still have not properly collected my feelings myself.
__________________________________________________
Also to add on to the list, Kaji Yuki also tweeted a short message regarding the incident a few hours ago:
I'll simply, simply pray (alt. I'll keep on, keep on praying)
I find this a little difficult to translate precisely, but I believe it conveys the meaning that though it may be out of our hands, and we cannot do more than "simply" praying, we must keep on doing so, if that's the only thing we can do.
He appeared on a live stream of a non-anime/seiyuu related program slightly before that, and his tweet from then seemed to be a little indicative of the incident as well:
The things I can, and must do, I’ll do them within the best of my abilities.

About Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] III. spring song:
To save the girl, to enact the justice he’s chosen…The young man will no longer turn a blind eye to the truth. Mages (Masters) and Heroic Spirits (Servants) work together in the battles of the Holy Grail War, a fight for an omnipotent wish-granting container called the Holy Grail. However, this war has become horribly twisted.
A young woman named Sakura Matou, with the sins she has committed, drowns in the murky darkness. A young man named Shirou Emiya, who vowed to protect Sakura, works together with Rin Tohsaka and throws himself into the raging battle to put a stop to the Holy Grail War. Illyasviel von Einzbern, as one of the few who knows the truth behind the conflict, confronts her own fate, while Zouken Matou uses Sakura to try to fulfill his own desires.
Will the young man’s wish reach her even as he challenges fate itself, battling against the rising tide? The Holy Grail War is coming to an end… The final battle is about to begin.

Twinkle (Matsuoka Joji, 1992) an arranged marriage brings a gay man and a depressed woman together, but gets their parents of their backs. experiment in living, attempting to keep the man's younger boyfriend in the fold, attempting to keep secrets. melancholic and wistful with a really nice coda. definitely one of the better movies yakushimaru hiroko starred in, though she doesn't sing the theme song. unless my grandfather's clock is the theme song.
