Rewatching MaryPoppins be like: [kiss-repulsed ace excitement when They DON’T KISS!! in the Very Romantic “Jolly Holiday” and we all still know they’re romantic]
…like no wonder Baby Me stanned them as prolly my first OTP (tho I mostly wanted that freed carosel horse and pet fox…)
*coughs*
Anyway. I’ve had that song stuck as an earworm and daydreaming about Shallura in similar Jolly Holiday outfits (tho prolly with purples vs that orange and red) and, idk. An entire AU.
I’m thinking about how Bert and Mary went to that restaurant and ordered food and the penguins said it would be all free but then they never brought them anything and just distracted them by doing a lengthy dance number.

Stephanie’s smashing, Priscilla a treat
Veronica, Millicent, Agnes, and Jane

A new project begins!
I’m basically crying in music history right now because I just remembered that “a lady needn’t fear when you are near” in the french version of Jolly Holiday is roughly “I feel safe, it’s true, in your arms”
All the animals complimenting Mary in Bert’s drawings is actually just Bert complimenting Mary because he dREW THEM
