Part 5 -- Part 6-

You ran out of the elevator, sprinting across the roof, Loki's cloak billowing behind you, making it to the jet "d..did you get...everything?" You asked trying to catch your breath "yes y/n, everything on your list is in the back." Thor said smiling. "Awesome, ok...let's go." You said tossing your bag down following him to the cockpit. You strapped Into the seat feeling the thrum of the engines. "How long until we're there?" You asked looking over "a few hours at most" Thor said flipping more switches "and he's still there?" You asked bunching the cloak in your hand "I am not sure. I haven't heard anything, but I didn't known he was planning to leave either." Thor said sighing.

You slowly opened your eyes hearing Thor's voice "y/n, wake up we have arrived." He said shaking your shoulder. "Oh shit, sorry. I didn't mean to fall asleep." You yawned stretching. "It's quite alright, let's get everything..." he trailed off looking to the back of the jet. You got up, making your way to your bag hearing voices "I'm sorry y/n." You vaguely heard Thor say before he gripped your shoulders "Thor, what the..." you trailed off as he pushed you into a locker, quickly closing it behind you when you heard footsteps. "Brother, What do I owe the pleasure?" You heard Loki ask "oh, well I...just thought I would stop by" Thor said nervously. "Riiight..." Loki said, hearing his boots echo through the jet. "Can I not just come to see my brother?" You heard Thor ask. "I suppose.." loki said, suspicion in his tone.

"Come, let's go to the tavern I am parched after the journey." Thor said. You heard the footsteps retreat, letting out a sigh you went to get out of the locker, unable to find a latch. "Shit.." you breathed, running your fingers along the metal "Thor you...grr." you growled pushing on the door realizing you were locked in. You tried to ram your shoulder into the door, groaning when it wouldn't budge. Leaning on it you sighed trying to figure out how you were going to get out when the door suddenly opened, landing you on the floor. "Oh..I'm so sorry!" You heard behind you, rolling to your back seeing a young boy looking no older then ten standing there "prince Thor sent me, my name is Talvi." He smiled holding his hand out. "Well hello, and thank you for letting me out." You said shaking his hand.

You got up dusting yourself off "Prince Thor told me you are here for Prince Loki, are you a surprise?" He asked looking up at you. "Yes, L..Prince Loki doesn't know im here." You said grabbing your bag. "Oh, I think he will be very excited, he's been rather sad lately." The boy said following you "has he?" You asked looking at him "yeah, he never leaves his house except for meetings, but you'll make him happy." He smiled again. "Oh...how do you know?" You asked smiling "well, you seem nice...and your pretty." He said looking down, a light blush on his cheeks. "Well thank you Talvi." You smiled.

"Now, where does Prince Thor live?" You asked piling everything at the back of the jet. "Oh, he and Prince Loki share a house, they said the people needed the space more then they did." He explained making you smile. "Well, they went to the tavern, so.." you trailed off not sure what you should do. "Oh, Prince Thor has spent days in the tavern, it is legendary." He said laughing "oh...hmm." you thought to yourself "well, I'll be waiting here until he gets back" you said sitting down "Well I must return to my family, I hope things work out as you wish my lady." He said bowing as he took off out of the jet. You leaned back in your seat stretching your legs out, hoping Thor wouldn't be gone for days.

You opened your eyes, looking out the windshield seeing it was dark outside as you heard singing In the back of the jet, loud and drunken singing, peeking out seeing Thor and Loki sitting on the bench.....

You had no idea what be was singing, you only heard him speak his native tongue a few times, usually when he was mad at Thor. but his voice was angelic, entrancing. the deep baritone sending a shiver up your spine feeling your heart swell. You could listen to him until the end of time.

They sang together, Thor laughing as Loki slumped down next to him, his head laying on Thor's shoulder "I miss our times in the tavern brother." Loki slurred making you giggle, you had never seen him drunk before, remembering him saying our alcohol was "sub par." "I miss them as well, we shall have to do this more often." Thor said laughing when Loki sat up "Thor..." he said shifting to face him raising his hand pointing at himself "I have decided to depart." He finished, waving his arm in the air. "Oh....where to?" Thor asked "no idea...just not here." Loki said pressing his back against the wall "and what would make you depart?" Thor asked "because I have lost the one person I truly love." He said laying his head on Thor's shoulder again "you don't know that, wait and speak with her first." Thor said "it doesn't matter...she won't have me, and I don't want to be here if I can't have her." He said sighing.

You heard Thor say something but couldn't make it out as you sat back against the wall in the cockpit "h...he loves me?" You whispered to yourself pulling your knees up wrapping your arms around them. You weren't sure how long you sat there when Thor crept in "y/n...come we must hurry." He whispered waving you after him. You got up, walking to the back of the jet seeing Loki sprawled out on the bench, his long curls fanning above his head, one hand on his chest the other over his eyes. "He won't sleep long so we need to be quick." Thor said grabbing your equipment heading outside. You grabbed your bag taking one last look at Loki before following Thor, carrying everything to the main hall.

"Ok, you do what you need to, I will go take Loki home, when you are finished come over and I shall sneak you in." Thor said setting everything down giving you directions to the house before starting for the door "oh Thor.." you called out seeing him turn "Thank you, for all of this." You said smiling "for my brother and you...anytime." he smiled walking out the door as you got to work setting everything up, hoping you were right and things wouldn't backfire...

You stood in the small room, fidgeting with your fingers hearing the main room fill with people. Apparently the town decided to throw a feast in Thor's honor so the entire town was here. Luckily for you he had drug Loki out of the house first thing in the morning, sending a seamstress to the house who then called for a small army of women to put your outfit together while they attended council meetings all day. You looked in the mirror, the long silk jacket went down to your wrists, leaving a large slit open in the front where your black lace teddy showed front and center, your belt holding it together at your waist as it cascaded down to the floor "God I hope I don't trip." You said adjusting the belt, smoothing out the skin tight leather pants, the forest green hue matching the jacket.

You sat down, grabbing your heels taking a deep breath. If you were wrong about this you were about to make an utter fool of yourself in front of the entirety of Asgard, and Loki. You bent down, lacing your heels when you heard a knock on the door, seeing it slowly open revealing Thor. "You look magnificent y/n." He said smiling. "I think im going to throw up." You said leaning over feeling Thor sit down next to you "remember y/n, above all else he is your friend, he loves you and I believe he will be honored by your bravery." He said rubbing your back. "Now, I will announce that someone has prepared a song for the Prince, and you come out when your ready." He smiled standing up. "Thor.." you started, grabbing his hand "He won't say no, trust me." He said squeezing your hand before leaving.

You stood up, fluffing your hair checking you makeup hearing Thor's booming voice "ladies and gentlemen, we have the honor of listening to a very talented performer who has prepared a song for our very own Prince Loki! Let's make them feel welcome!" He said as you heard the room erupt in applause "Well, now or never." You said walking towards the main hall. You looked down, keeping your hair covering your face as you made your way to your machine, finding the song you hit play as the lights dimmed. Turning your back to the crowd you closed your eyes, taking a deep breath lifting the mic to your lips.

Again, you're gone, off on a different path than mine...i'm left behind, wondering if I should follow

You had to go, and of course it's always fine...I probably could catch up with you tomorrow

You turned to the crowd, the train of your coat whipping behind you as you looked out to the packed room, your eyes meeting his...

You took a few steps forward, looking around the room seeing people smiling at you, your eyes traveling back to the front of the room seeing Loki sat stock still, his cheeks a light pink.

Up till now the next step was a question of how...I never thought it was a question of whether

You held eye contact with him, wiling him to feel everything you felt for him as you strode through the room, your palms sweating the closer to him you got.

You felt the base run through you, the look in his eyes not betraying whatever emotion he may be feeling as you stode closer, seeing Thor's smile widen.

You made it to the bottom of the high table, Loki and thor sat with several others high above you as you took a breath, closing your eyes feeling your heart race in your chest.

The room thrummed with applause, Thor's loudest of all when you looked to Loki, you're eyes locking with his you lifted the mic to your lips knowing this was either the best decision of your life or the worst "jeg elsker deg Loki Laufeyson" you whispered, seeing his breath hitch as your hands shook, the anticipation eating you alive when he suddenly got up, his face indifferent as he slowly made his way down to you, stopping in front of you you saw the red spread across his cheeks as he genlty wrapped his hand around yours, lifting the mic to his lips "jeg elsker deg min valkyrie" He whispered, a smile spreading across his face as you grabbed the front of his shirt, pulling him to you you pressed your lips to his, pouring every emotion you had into him, feeling his hands glide up and down your back when be pulled back just enough to look at you

"i..what about our friendship. I don't want to ruin that." He said gazing into your eyes "loki, I'm definitely going to need you to do that, immediately if possible" you said as he smiled, leaning back in, his lips engulphing yours as he cupped the back of your head, his tongue pressing past your lips as he deepened the kiss, moaning onto your mouth you felt his hand slide down your your belt as he pulled back, you both panting "I do believe I am ready to ruin you my dear." He purred, his fingers fanning over your cheek when you grabbed his hand pulling him behind you, stopping at the door you looked back "Thank you Thor!" You yelled blowing him a kiss as you drug Loki away into the night, excited for what the future may hold......

You’re surrounded by this lovely cast, and most of Gussie’s development occurs with Frank, played by the lovely Jonathan Groff. How has your relationship on stage and off evolved throughout the run?

[We had met before, but] my first time having what I would consider quality time with him was my audition. It was an hourlong audition, and we laughed and cried, and it was just such a cathartic moment. I was like, “Oh, this person is going to be a part of my life for a long time.”

There was one day when we were doing the show, and Gussie says, “I think it’s fate that brought us together.” He is prone to crying, but one day he really cried when I said that line. Afterward, he was like, “I cried because I really do think it was fate that brought us together.” He’s like, “When I think of everything and how we have become friends and all of that, I do think it was fate that brought us together.”

And it’s crazy because, honestly, Beyoncé is the glue that keeps us together as well. The fact that Beyoncé has a new album out, there’s a lot of texting going on about every little teaser that’s come out. Anyone who has an equal or greater — I don’t know if he has a greater love than me — for Beyoncé is really, really well marked in my book.

And so many famous guests have come to see the show. Was there anyone you were most excited to meet?

Oh, man. I mean, one of the biggest guests was Meryl Streep. That was huge. Beyoncé, I’m begging you, Beyoncé. We are begging you to come.

But then you and Groff wouldn’t be able to do the show — you’d die!

No, we would be dead. I mean, that would be it. There would be no more us, but we would’ve had that experience.

I'm watching Glee (Jonathan Groff just returned to S1 ATP) and as soon as I saw that the guest star was Neil Patrick Harris, all I've been thinking about is how they were both in Matrix Resurrections

I'm just picturing Neo and Trinity side eyeing and looking on in horror and confusion, and laughing at Agent Smith and The Analyst performing a musical and they're trying to one up eachother while playing it as seriously as possible 😂

Theres a scene in this ep where Jonathan Groff is soaked from the rain. All I could think of was MRRR ANDERSONNNN!

I know Frozen came out ten years ago, but I will still laugh every time I remember that Disney paid JONATHAN GROFF a big 'ol stack of Disney money to sing a song less than a minute long about how reindeer smell bad and so does his character. And that's all they had him sing.

Wow great question!

We sometimes forget it that Jesse St James (played by Jonathan Groff, season 1, 2, 3, 6) and Sebastian Smythe (played by Grant Austin, season 2, 3, 4 and 5) were vilains. They had a redemption (I have completely forgot that Jesse marry Rachel, Sebastian helps Blaine to ask Kurt to marry him). But it's true that they are cocky arrogant men. What's funny is that Jesse's actor is gay in real life, and Sebastian who is gay is played by a straight actor. Proof that you can play someone who have not the same sexuality.

Anyway you ask me who would bully me. I think that Sebastian is more handsome, but less hot, and his villainy is more obvious. Jesse is less beautiful but hotter and he know how to manipulate people.

I'll chose to be bullied by Jesse St James, he would pretend to help me about something but will make me do things like smelling his farts and massaging his feet. Maybe he would tell me he wants me as his assistant (when he become the coach of Vocal Adrenaline in season 3) but humiliates me by resting his feet on my shoulders or carrying his stuff.... I would have to suck him maybe..

As for Sebastian, he is not my type in real life but if I had to chose him (which is not the case), I would like him to pretend he will date me but at the end he never date me but tell me he will everytime after he rested his ass l' my face or made me do his housechores and lick his ass / feet / armpits. I have to tell him I feel privileged to be near an alpha like him... Obviously he farts on me and if I complain he say he can't date someone who isn't funny so I have to smell his farts to have a chance to be his boyfriend, but he laugh of my naivety

It’s always a bit of a surprise to get any likes on my Horrible Histories movie posts, I sorta send them into the void for self satisfaction😆, but it was even more surprising when your username popped up! To tell you the truth, I actually have a whole playlist of songs for Atti and Orla [I call it "Of Love and Sundials" because I amuse myself 😅]. Of course, they have a lot of wonderful canonical songs already (including a (sort of?) love song. That second verse and also the Latin translation makes me think it's a love song, but I suppose it's up to interpretation). Anyway... unfortunately those songs are not available to listen to in my country or to purchase internationally (believe me I've looked into it) which has been such a frustration when the songs get stuck in my head. (True pain is running around humming "something something sharing" for two weeks at time with no respite 😂). My sister and I actually once physically typed out all the lyrics to one of the songs by pausing the actual movie over and over with subtitles, and I also translated part of Atti's part of "Orla Alone" into the original Latin when I super bored once (my teachers would be so thrilled to know how I was utilizing my many years of "serious" Latin knowledge 😂). But mostly, I just made a playlist of non-Horrible Histories songs (and I got really, really attached to song "Lost in The Woods" from Frozen 2) as a way to fill the void. Gossip Girl Playlists: Theatre Kid AU edition! —Nate’s

I don’t even remember exactly how this started, but it’s @strideofpride’s fault. 

The concept began as: if they were in this world, what would be in the GG mains’ MT books? What would be their go-to song? Their 16 bar cut? And then, I got on spotify, and got wayyyy too carried away (typical me), and it sort of morphed into: what are the NJBC’s (plus Daniel’s) senior musical theatre recital programs? And now I have this: a quartet of playlists of repertoire handpicked by me for these fake people, and I am very proud of them. 

All selections based on my very particular taste, honed from a childhood in community theater, an adolescence in high school musicals, and a 4 year degree from a majority musical theatre school

And, as in the tradition of Glee and all plays within a play, the rep reflects something profoundly personal about the character, because you know I love a theme.

Okay so Nate’s was realllllyyyyy hard to pin down, which makes sense because he as a character is hard to pin down, bc the show really only treated him like a whole-ass person for like 2 seasons. But, the beauty of men in musical theatre is they have much more license to just….do whatever the fuck they want—as opposed to women who get put into teeny tiny uncastable little boxes (but that’s a rant for another day). 

The point is, Nate’s type: because of his looks and talent, people try to put him in the romantic leading man box, but he finds that sooooooo boooooooring. He does play some himbos (bc, why not play to your strengths?) but he gravitates to roles that are more of a stretch. The fun roles, the character roles. The ones that less enlightened folk would say he’s “too pretty to play.” He likes to go for the laugh! He doesn’t want to be Billy Bigelow, he wants to be the Emcee! (I also see him having a great run being one of Les Amis in Les Mis in his 20s; and as the hot boy in Mamma Mia.)

His range is—and I hate that I’m saying this but it really is applicable to men in MT–bari-tenor. He can get up there when he wants to, but doesn’t necessarily want to live in the land of the high belt. He has a great low range that makes him prime golden age hunk material, but again, not really his thing. Also, theatrekid!Nate is a DANCER. He’s good on his feet and he knows it!

I’ll be honest, I just like this one because when sung right, it’s soooooo hot. 

A traveling farmhand (can you guess his name?) explains why he never stays too long in one place. There’s lots of plot happening around him, but his only job as a character is to be sexy and cause problems. 

Try to Remember — The Fantasticks

It’s the world’s longest running musical ever, so it must be doing something right! It’s an inverse Romeo and Juliet. Two fathers pretend to feud for years, to reverse psychology their children into falling in love. There’s also this spanish bandit? Idk. the fathers go a bit overboard with the plot and some strife happens, but there’s a happy ending!

This is the show opener, sung by the narrator/Spaniard-ex-machina El Gallo

Brush up Your Shakespeare (duet w/ Dan) — Kiss Me, Kate

A musical version of Taming with the Shrew is trying to get off the ground. There’s mobsters and divorced exes with sexual tension and lots of nonsense. And this bop. 

Agony (duet w/ Dan) — Into the Woods 

The only good thing that movie version gave me was Chris Pine tearing his shirt open. Ok, whore. 

Two princes, one in love with Cinderella and one in love with Rapunzel, commiserate on their love lives. I’d call them himbos, but they don’t respect women enough. They’re kinda just sluts. 

I’d Rather Be Sailing — A New Brain

See title for why I picked it. 

The show was written from the composer’s experience when he was diagnosed and treated for an AVM. this song is actually sung by the main character’s boyfriend, so it nautical AND gay!

I Am Aldopho — The Drowsy Chaperone

Severely underrated musical. This and Curtains are both wild, gershwin-y sounding romps where I don’t really remember the plot, but I remember not being able to breathe for laughing. This show is about a grand 20s wedding, but there’s hijinks afoot, and the bride’s chaperone is drowsy because she’s drunk, and for some reason the Spaniard-ex-machina, Aldolfo, tries to seduce her with this song. I can’t not picture this scene without a cape. 

I Don’t Care Much — Cabaret

I just think. Nate would be such a good MC. I want that for him. I really do. 

MC sings this song as narration, when singer Sally fights with her lover Cliff. Lots of shit is going on, but it’s really about the desperation and precipice and uncertainty that the MC and the Kit Kat Clubbers are living in in jazz age berlin.  

You’ve Got to Be Carefully Taught — South Pacific

MT guys get cast in this role if they look good shirtless, so. And it’s a better song than Younger than Springtime, like, yeesh. (this is the soldier set. I think Nate could also play that Miss Saigon guy, I don’t know the whole show well but I tried to listen to the guys big solo and I could not. anyway.)

Even though he’s in love, Lt. Cable’s deeply entrenched racism causes him to be a total jerk to his wartime love, Liat. Nellie’s same deeply entrenched racism ends her relationship with hot french dilf, Emile, when Emile seeks out advice, this song is Cable’s answer. 

Come Back — Dogfight

Everybody was losing their minds over DEH but the real Pasek and Paul opus is this musical. It only ran off broadway but the feelings! And the songs! 

In SF, a young GI meets and falls for a girl the day before he ships out to Vietnam, also the day before JFK’s assassination. This is the eleven o’clock number. He’s returning home, haunted, and broken, a marked contrast to the kid who left. 

Make ‘Em Laugh — Singin’ in the Rain

A classic! Nate the actor would always be going for the bits 

I Can’t Be Bothered Now — Crazy for You

a role for a DANCER. Bobby is a blue-blood banker’s son who just wants to dance. His mission takes him to a small cow town out west where he puts on a show. Gershwinian nonsense like that. It is very cute, though. 

Moon-faced, Starry-eyed (duet w/ Serena) — Street Scene

Street Scene is technically an opera, but it’s a big extravagant blending of musical styles, from romantic 1900s opera to 1940s jazz. Guess which end of the spectrum this one’s on. It’s the comedic dance break before shit hits the fan in this New York apartment building. I can so see besties Serena and Nate being complete hams in this number.

Mae, a tenant of the building, comes back from a night out with her boyfriend, Dick. They are drunk and they are dancing!

Soul of a Man — Kinky Boots

Nate wearing those shoes. Send post.

With today being Jonathan Groff’s birthday, it seems like a good time to share about a silly doll I painted recently 😂 You all probably know I am a long time fan of Jonathan, and you probably also know that the dolls I gave him at the @littleshopnyc stage door back in 2019 were the first Broadway dolls I ever painted. I also painted Jonathan, Dan Radcliffe and @lindsaymendez a group of @merrilyonbway dolls back during the NYTW run, and couldn’t believe it when castmate @morgan.kirner sent me an amazing goofy photo of Jonathan with the 3 dolls. I have both photos hanging in my studio. But… something that immediately caught my eye was the cameo Jonathan’s iconic blue bike helmet made in both of my photos lol.

For years I joked with friends about one day painting him a “bike helmet doll” as he is known for always having that bike helmet but Jonathan doesn’t have social media, doesn’t read fan mail and no longer stage doors so I wasn’t sure how or if I could ever get it to him. However, I recently received a letter from one of the boys who plays Frank Jr (Jonathan’s son) in the show asking if I could paint Frank Jr dolls — of course I said yes — and decided this was a good time to paint that bike helmet doll and send it along with them. 😂

I’ll share more about the Frank Jr dolls in a separate post, but a big thank you to @feliciadanielle for delivering all of the dolls and for sending me some amazing photos and the sweetest messages. I am glad the boys love their dolls, you love the doll I included for you, and I am glad the bike helmet doll made it to Jonathan safely and gave him a good laugh 😂😂😂

Last series: I'm working my way through Arrested Development and What We Do in the Shadows. But just saw the first episode of Stranger Things this evening and I'm looking forward to more - no spoilies!

Last movie: Downton Abbey: A New Era. Laughing through my tears... Dame Maggie Smith is a treasure.

Sweet/Spicy/Savory:  Sweet, sweet, sweet. Do you know that feeling where your cheeks feel too much sugar? I have never experienced this feeling.

Currently working on: Yikes! How much time do you have? But really, I am working on a story in honor of the Great Queen Anna's birthday, and something top secret for my first multi-fandom exchange that's from an out of left field fandom, but one I really like. I'm also trying to finish The Refugees. And I'm starting to think ahead to the Kristanna Halloween Days event!!! So excited!

The Highest Key ~ BJ

Brendon loved being back on stage.  He was nervous, but it didn’t last long.  Once he was two songs in, he was feeling like he’d never left.  He had changed his set slightly, but kept to the familiar vibe, bringing both the energy and a vocal range most would die for.  He didn’t do anything from the coming album, preferring to keep it under wraps until he started dropping the new music just a few days away.  For now, he wanted to bask in the familiar, even if it was about to take a turn.  

He had played his encore, put his shirt back on, and stood in front of the audience.  “Wow, it’s taken a lot of time and a lot of work to get back here, and honestly, thank you to all of you for letting me do what I love most in the world, almost.”  He laughed a little.  “Music literally saved me, like it does with most of us, and because some people lied, I almost lost all of it.  Someone helped me figure things out, and loved me anyway.  I got really lucky, and I’m ready - I think.”  He smiled, holding out a hand for Jon.  “For the last song, come on and do this one with me.  I think you know it.”  In the background, just out of the spotlight, Brendon had his friends come out onstage.  Patrick took the piano, Pete on his bass, Joe on guitar, and Andy on drums.  There wasn’t a major line for any of them, but they would stand in for moral support.  “Come on, Baby, come sing with me.”  He cued Patrick to play a few notes of I Got Lost in his Arms.
