Depending on how you began the story, it was about Joseph Kavinsky. In his too-cold, too-bare room in the Shenandoah Valley Regional Rehabilitation Center, Kavinsky dreams of fire, hungry and hot, swallowing the world.

He decides he wants in.

A canon-divergent re-imagining in which Kavinsky lives through his Fourth of July suicide attempt. This is a story that weaves up through childhood, through teenage delinquency, and grows into a story about a saving yourself from the person in your reflection that hates you more than anyone. Its about the shapes between these characters, growing with them in their ever-strained, ever-dangerous lives of magic and crime.

Ever wanted a TRC AU where Kavinsky lives, breaks out of rehab, commits ecoterrorism with Bryde, and becomes a hitman with Mr. Gray? Well, this is your fic.

here's food for thought. in the dream thieves, the gray man breaks the living hell out of declan's nose (ronan describes it as 'decidedly broken' more than a day after the altercation). we know that maggie mentions noses a lot in descriptions, and a favorite of hers for the lynch boys is their matching roman noses.

the question is how did declan get his nose to not look broken by call down the hawk? because usually when you get the shit broken out of your nose, even when it's set, after healing there's an indication that it's been broken, such as crookedness or a bump. and it's not like he went straight away to get it set. that would involve quite a lie, anyway. nothing about the brokenness (in any state) is ever mentioned in regard to declan from anywhere moving past tdt.

it would be a decidedly 'un-boring' thing about him. think of how much more taken jordan would be with him if he had a sexy and mysterious healed broken nose...
