you know what i love about taskmaster, and greg and alex? how they're simultaneously playing themselves and playing characters. like the running theme of alex being in love with greg, or them being in a (toxic) cute relationship, etc etc. it's the same as greg playing the "taskmaster" persona, even though it's very often referenced that alex is actually the one who comes up with the tasks, and is in fact, the creator of the show.

i like it because it lets the audience, especially the ones who watch often, in on the joke, but it's still funny if you're new. also, it creates this fun caricature persona that's in love with his assistant, who adores him, and that's lovely. i like it because it's almost a form of theatre within a show. the audience knows when they're talking about themselves, the humans, or the characters, the people in a show. it keeps the show entertaining despite an ever roating cast, and it can follow almost a narrative storyline, which is important for viewer retention.

New Obsession

Guess who just binged all of Candela Obscura, has the core rulebook for it, and is ecstatic to run their own campaign? This gal!

Watching all of these chapters, with all these different characters, and all of the different theming has rekindled my love for the horror genre and want to run through a story together with others.

Its given me so many ideas and works well with how I feel I dm. I'm so glad this system has been printed and has such a deep interesting lore to it to work with and work off of. I hope, once I start running a campaign, that I can share it and my love for it with everyone.

it makes me sad to see so many of my friends stop posting or making content on tumblr or ao3, even some end up deleting their urls/blogs. i dont know if its from things becoming too much for them, or just life being meh, but i hope that everyone is taking care of themselves.

i hope that they're all happy and proud of who they are right now. im glad that i had the chance to meet you all on these platforms, and i hope you go on and do great things.

was going insane on discord but got told i should post. anyway lancer’s behavior throughout pivotal moments in chapter 1 suggests that he has a hero complex. for a consistent period of time, he has felt responsible for other people’s safety and wellbeing. this is why he masks his problems by being affable and friendly rather than expressing anger. this is also why he immediately creates a contingency plan to protect his friends and his father that involves *himself* getting hurt instead. his solution to conflict is “if i get hurt, nobody else has to”

tbh. I get what ji hyuk is going through with knowing he will probably die in a decade but tbh if I loved someone but knew they would die in ten years I would be pretty happy to spend a whole decade with them. Like dont let the fact that you could die deprive you both of having TEN WHOLE YEARS TOGETHER like maybe its not the rest of your life but I’d be pretty upset if I didn’t even get this relatively smaller amount of time with you bc you were too busy believing that it would ruin my life or whatever . you both already died anyways like . just find some happiness in the now .

one time when my sleep disorder was rly bad i was clocking out of work (grocery store) and i vaguely remembered that i was supposed to bring home dog food so in a complete daze i took a two foot tall bag of dog food off the shelf and walked out the front door with it and i didnt realize until i got home that i had stolen from my own workplace in broad daylight. nobody stopped me
