today i am thinking about how john green's OCD fixated on germs and microbes and how his brother hank created a youtube series exploring and demystifying the microscopic world and the creatures that live there.

Up Close With The World's Deadliest Animal (ft. John Green), July 31, 2023
Under the microscope, mosquitos undergo a metamorphosis sculpted in gold. The buzzing body takes on a life of its own, its usual role as menace lying far beyond the margins of the screen. Journey to the Microcosmos

I had the thought "The Eye of Harmony is the powerhouse of the TARDIS."
And that led me to the thought "The Eye of Harmony is the mitochondria of the TARDIS," which has very interesting and unnerving connotations if you know anything about endosymbiosis:

Anyone wanna oxidize some hydrogen sulfide and form sulfur granules to fuel cellular respiration with me? Maybe form some mats at the bottom of an aquarium?

me every time i see some petty drama or just stupid opinions (which is rare but y'know): black holes literally exist. there are billions of galaxies and stars and planets in our ever-expanding universe. also do you know how complex micro-organisms are ?? we owe everything to those little funky microscopic dudes. anyways life is so vast, strange, an abundant and beyond comprehension and we are just a mere speck in all that cosmic soup so like, chill out maybe

showed up to work expecting a slow but otherwise uneventful day forgetting that today was a staff party so i spent the first two hours of my shift sitting around outside awkwardly not really knowing anyone well enough just yet that i felt i could initiate casual conversation cuz everything i’m currently into is very much not ‘mainstream’ or normal enough. like i can’t even be like “so what do y’all think about the new pokémon game comin out” or something relatively pedestrian in my mind like that cuz most of my coworkers do not play video games at least not often enough to have a conversation about them. either i’m not normal enough to work here or i don’t know anyone well enough to unlock their quirky side yet
