A pleasant 8 mile run after work along the parkway in the neighborhood, even with the wind gusts. Wasn’t too cold tonight. A few days into December, I’m looking forward to the holidays, even more than usual. Feeling better things coming this month and next year, like coming back out of the ground… something our ancient ancestors must’ve felt building their astrological monuments and creating winter festivals.
This is Finn, the Christmas Goat.
Finn comes out every holiday season to spread joy and cheer. Legend says if you reblog Finn, you will have a magical holiday (no matter what you celebrate this time of year!) and a positive end to 2020.
“ Love’s spark pricked him so that his heart was set alight, and he replied to her in seemly manner: ‘Fair lady, if it were to please you to grant me the joy of wanting to love me, you could ask nothing that I would not do as best I could, be it foolish or wise.’ ”
— Marie de France, tr. by. Glyn Burgess, from V: Lanval; The Lais of Marie De France: With Two Further Lais in the Original Old French.
