Looks like the DAS Ashley uses in the remake is based of the Nintendo Switch instead of the DS.

About to go throw a brick through Nintendo HQ window. All three (3) of my right joycons have drift. Like, alright, the oldest of the three is no longer under warranty but it's STILL scandalous that controllers can't stand 3 years of use in 2020's, especially at such a price.
But that's not even why I want to throw a brick through the Nintendo HQ window. How about the two other right joycons? Well one of them has been gifted to me and immediately started malfunctioning one week after being used, and the other, which I bought with my own money because the previous one malfunctioned, started malfunctioning LESS THAN A HOUR AFTER I STARTED USING IT. It's not even the battery or anything, it was fully charged, it immediately did the joycon drift I am screaming so hard
So now you might think. What's the post about. Just contact after-sales service. Just ask Nintendo to fix their shit.
I did.
Guess who finally received the two right joycons that I sent for repair, charged them, then used them to see them drift under half an hour of use?
me.
I will throw a brick through Nintendo HQ window

Nintendo has been fixing joycon drift for years but they don't advertise it so people still don't know.

People are like: omg lol you have the default Switch joycons?
Me: yeah, why wouldn't I? New ones cost like 80 euros?
People: so you just tolerate the drift?
Me: le whut?
People: yours haven't broken???
So uhhh yeah, I used to think it was just esthetics bs but I guess ppl need new ones for a reason and just opt for cute. I would too, actually, if the originals broke and I had to pay that much, so why not get a nice colour. I had no idea I was a lucky bastard o.o

Sinikka is getting the word out about Nintendo fixing joycons! This was at the height of drift. Not sure if Nintendo is still offering this but I would hope so. Mostly because they are not very good about improving the joysticks...

Fixture S1 Review
Tumblr media
Joy-con drift, you know it, you hate it.
It’s something that the big N refuses to properly address, maybe because they are too busy slinging cease and desists like they were frisbees.
However, during PAX East I got to meet with the fine folks and fixture gaming.
And I think I finally found someone who hates Joy-con drift more that I do; cuz they actually did something about it…
Fixture gaming is a team of designers and gamers who strived to build a “better mouse trap” in gaming, creating accessories that are both comfortable and functional.
Tumblr media
Fixture gave me their S1 model device, and after playing around with it for a few weeks, I definitely can say whole heartedly that the hype created by the You Tube video game community is real.
The Fixture S1 is a harness that physically connects your Nintendo Switch monitor to a Nintendo Switch pro controller.
Which is perfect, if you are one those gamers who love to use the Switch’s NFC reader to scan amiibo figures and cards.
The lock in mechanism is strong and sturdy, but may take a little getting used to especially if you have a lizard brain like mine which took a week to figure it out.
The S1 can also be used as a stand if you want to play with friends in a public area such as cafés. Which is especially ideal if have friends with their own controllers.
The developers are working on a version for the Nintendo Switch OLED model, so you will have to wait a little longer.
Prices for the device start 35 bucks, but you will most likely want to invest in the fixture bundle that comes with a carrying case that can hold your controller and screen for 54 bucks.
I give the Fixture S1 a huge thumbs up.

I just replaced the analogue sticks on my joycons 😁
They had so much drift they were unusable. And I didn't want to send them away for weeks.
They're much better now 😎 ready for Metroid Prime

can’t believe Nintendo won’t repair my joycon drift just because my joycons have custom shells 😭😭 anyone know any other good places you can send your joycons in for repairs?
no “just do it yourself” comments please, im physically disabled with hand issues and don’t think i can do it myself. it seems precise and i can’t even unscrew the shells lol

they don't make technology like they used to fr
I have had my 3ds for 9 years, about a month ago it got drenched in water, I mean drenched, like, the same effect as dropping it in the ocean
I wait for it to dry, it turns on, absolutely fine, zero bugs, zero glitches, that's a quality product
my Gameboy advance as well, got it more recently to play older Zelda games, but its second hand and sunbleached, it's known love.
I dropped it, my mistake, it broke in two along its folding edge, I glued it back together, not only does it still work as a whole, the bumper buttons still work, that's right along where it broke
this is why I like Nintendo, not so much newer consoles with joycon drift (which can be solved with a bike pump btw, don't waste your money), but old Nintendo will always be on top in handheld gaming

It finally happened.
I experienced the dreaded joycon drift, so my red joycon has been retired. Treated myself to a new pair - the pastel pink and yellow joycon set. My Switch gaming days shall live on! 🩷💛

Just DIY-fixed my Joycon Drift. You literally just have to open the controller, unscrew the section the battery rests in, set a 5mm piece of paper on the metal part under the stick, and put it back together. Repeat for the other if it's affected, and you're done. I don't know why I didn't do it years ago.

As Far As The Eye 2 - More Pupils, more!
In this video, I tackle the mission where I stopped back when I decided to share this game with others.
Shame about the glitching and my beat-up controller.
Once I covered the bill I am working towards, I am going to get a new controller - my original plan was to get a real microphone instead of using the one of the headset, but needs must.
Back to the game - These two missions have the player handling growing their pupils once they become more numerous, and managing cooking rations that are better than just raw fruit.
The next scenario was supposed to teach about druids, then the game forced my hand by crashing.
Please help me out on Ko-fi, I really want to keep up streaming and maybe even do videos for things that aren't real-time friendly, but first I need to settle a bill that's kind of hanging over my head.
