The "God" of the Red House
(Spoilers ahead for the latest chapter)
We've got not only most of the backstory with Real!Tsukasa and Amane, but after chapter 81, we also got some clarifications on the dark wish granting entity in the Red House.
Something that Amane and Tsukasa both call "God".
Tumblr media
The reason Amane calls this entity "God" is because Tsukasa tells him that it grants whatever wishes he wants. But something needs to be sacrificed to get the wish, which is exactly how Hanako's and Tsukasa's powers work as well.
For a wish, something precious is lost. Or more accurately, a life—or something akin to it—is lost.
Tsukasa sacrifices small animals for books and toys, and later himself for Amane's life. Nene's life is flipped upside down and her soul bound to Hanako's for her wish to become human. And much later, Aoi is sacrificed for Nene's life.
Which brings us to one thing:
Tumblr media
Did "God" grant Hanako a wish too?
Wishes can be granted to the dead at a cost as well, but since they're no longer alive the price varies. (For example, Mitsuba's mind is warped for his wish to be remembered.)
We don't know if Hanako was dead or alive when he got his wish granted, but we do know that it was after Amane killed "Tsukasa".
(Also adding a crack theory in the middle of all of this, what if killing demon!Tsukasa freed the entity from within him and allowed it to speak with Amane? Or maybe possess him?)
What if in the end, Amane's wish was to get a chance to redeem his sins, in exchange for being bound to the school? Was it even his own wish or was it something forced upon him (like when Tsukasa made Mitsuba the third mystery)? There's many mysteries behind this, and hopefully we can learn more in future chapters.
Feel free to correct me or add on more to this theory!

I talked with @baronesscmd about chapter 82 and she made me aware of an interesting detail.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
When the cranes turn into Kokujoudai they go up in flames.
It looks like the flames are always a necessary element for Tsukasa's return.
Tumblr media
And it's interesting that the Kokujoudai were Origami cranes before, could they be made of the letters Tsukasa wanted to write.
Or could it be that Tsukasa is fused with Kokujoudai?
Are these Kokujoudai perhaps human souls?
Is he able to return, even if his human body dies, because of this fusion?
In my last theory I wondered if the beings who spoke to Tsukasa might be the lost souls of the sacrificed Kannagis. Since they are able to melt into water they might be able to leave their pit and curse the living human. Here is the link.

Cleaned Volume 0 + Theory About Clouds and Flowers ( ◕▿◕ )
Hey everyone! For today I've cleaned volume 0. This by far was probably the easiest to clean cause it didn't have a lot of text on the drawing itself. (っ˘ω˘ς )
I did notice something quite interesting though.... Theory is at the bottom! (.❛ ᴗ ❛.)
Click for better quality!
Tumblr media
Before and After~
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Theory Time!
So while cleaning, I noticed two things that are quite interesting
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
I might be taking a long shot but I'm pretty sure that those clouds are the same? @hania-chan what do you think? It might not mean anything but with volume 0/ the pilot chapter not having a good ending does that mean that tbhk will have a bittersweet/bitter ending?? @zuckerwattewatte maybe this supports your theory about having a not so good ending?
2nd Interesting Tidbit
Flowers; what Aidiro really likes to torment us with. So I googled up the meaning of what tiger lily and daffodils mean (not sure what that purple flower is)
Lo and behold:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
What really stood out was this
Tumblr media
Do you notice how close the tiger lily are to Hanako?
Tumblr media
Literally right next to his face and his body. Tiger lilys are suppose to protect against ghosts but they are so close to him?? But the white lilys (symbolizing purity and virtue) is further away along with the daffodils that symbolize rebirth and hope. Funny how volume 15 has daffodils on its cover too. Also they are turned away from him while the tiger lilys are turned towards him.
Tumblr media
Hmmm well that's all I have for now but if anyone wants to add on, feel free to! I'm not that big brain so please correct me if I'm wrong

Part 2 Theory about Yashiro Nene
Last time I told you that Yashiro Nene is an unusual girl. I want to continue this theory.
Yashiro Nene is, in my opinion, the most mysterious character in manga. We know almost nothing about her. I also want to note that the "After school boy Hanako kun" manga has stories about what they do at school or not at school, for example "Name" is not long ago above the tea chapter, about Kou Minamoto's classmates and friends. But why is there no separate Istria where there is only Yashiro Nene (where she is alon, not at school, just by herself)? This is somehow strange, almost all the characters are revealed in the plot, but the main character is not.
Tumblr media
I have a theory that Yashiro is an unusual girl, she is hiding something from everyone. And yet, in the last part I mentioned her hairpins. They also seem unusual. Maybe she has some kind of power, and in order to hide her from everyone she puts on these special hairpins. Do you remember in Chapter 39, Minamoto Teru mentioned that she is an unusual girl. Maybe Teru knows everything about Yashiro? Most likely, Teru knows best of all who Yashiro is, when and from what she will die.
Tumblr media
And another question that torments everyone, from what and when will Yashiro Nene die? There are theories that she will die because she sacrifices herself for those who are dear to her. This outcome of the plot is possible and most likely it will. I have options:
1. She will sacrifice herself for Hanako kun so that he becomes human again and fulfills his wishes.
Now I will explain in detail what I mean. Do you remember Tsuchigomori told Yashiro that Hanako was supposed to be the teacher?
Tumblr media
What if the future hasn't changed, it just hasn't arrived yet? What if he had to die Hanako but then meet Yashiro in the future, who would end up sacrificing herself for Hanako. And he will become a human again and will become teacher later. (Or sacrifice herself not only for the sake of Hanako, but also for others. Others will also become human's again - Mitsuba, Tsukasa, etc.) Sad theory, like a good end but also a sad and.
For now on it's all. I will later write part 3.
Thank you for reading! 😊 Please share your theories to.

Note
it's a long shot, but i still think nene is gonna be revealed as a 'girl who forgot she was a god'. her nickname 'daikon' is acutrally similiar to a few japanese female god's names for example Daikokunyo, Daikoku, or Daikokutennyo. thought personally, i think nene is going to be the human form of Amaterasu-Ōmikami, due too many similaritys. i bet she was testing hanako, to see if he has earned her forgiveness and forgot who she was. i mainly think this due to magatama. Amaterasu was said to have the first form of the jewel, and its suspicous nene is seen wearing them in her huamn form and fish form. even as a mokke. i dont think she would be a mystery, i think she's above that. other spirits have already mentioned there was something different about her.
Tumblr media
Oooh!! This is really interesting!! And mayhaps this is why Teru calls her special 👀👀 though I think if this is truly the case—I actually think Nene has no idea since so much we see is through her POV, and learning things for the first time? Also Aoi being sacrificed in Nene’s stead is also makes me think otherwise—but you brought up really interesting points aaaa

About Amane's fate
Tsuchigomori told Yashiro that Amane is the only person he knows that was able to change his fate.
He was supposed to grow up and become a science teacher, but instead, he died at age 13, after killing his little brother.
Now, in the recent chapter, Kou told baby Tsukasa about their future, about how Amane is going to kill him (and then die himself too).
At the end of the chapter, is implied that -somehow- the baby Tsukasa that is in the red house is the "original" Tsukasa (merged with the red house's entity), the one that went missing, and that the reason why he comes back to his family in the first place, is because Kou told him about what's going to happen in the future.
Tumblr media
So, Tsukasa was always fated to die. But Amane wasn't. Him dying changed his "original" fate. But now that Kou told Tsukasa that Amane is going to die at 13, and if all of this is a time loop (like it seems to be implied), does Amane's death really change anything? Did he really change his fate in the first place? Is his death some kind of self-fulfilling prophecy?
(Perhaps i'm not making any sense, but this paradox is really messing with my brain rn)

Theory: Mitsuba is a Mokke :3
This is pretty lighthearted but I promise it has some substance.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
First of all, there’s Mitsuba’s color palette. His hair, eyes, and cardigan are all a similar shade of pink to the mokke.
Tumblr media
Mitsuba is frequently associated with bunnies/mokke in the art/manga.
Tumblr media
The mokke here is mimicking Mitsuba.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
When we’re introduced to the Mokke, Hanako says they have to group together to attack people, and it’s unusual.
Tumblr media
Mitsuba is technically a bunch of supernaturals grouped together to change form.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
When grouped together as the fairies, Mitsuba looks very similar to the Mokke in his No. 3 form. His arms (and scarf arms) and his chest eye line up with the fairy. He’s also presenting himself to Nene in a similar way as the first panel.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Mitsuba is definitely timid, hence why it took him and Hanako three rounds to get any semblance of a fight to happen.
Tumblr media
Kou notes that Mitsuba’s way stronger than in the Hell of Mirror arc, so maybe he’s been chowing down on more supernaturals?
Tumblr media
He’s already a mokke! Feel free to interpret this as you will =D

REREADING THE MANGA ANNNND OKAY THIS ONE IMAGE
Tumblr media
HAS LEFT ME WITH SO MANY QUESTIONS.
The foreshadowing is pretty obvious, but WHAT is it foreshadowing? Look at the figure in the middle. It’s pretty ambiguous who that is.
It has a knife, like Hanako. It has the uniform, but we know Tsukasa likes to dress up as Hanako sometimes. It doesn’t have a seal. My guess it’s that it could be Tsukasa, because look at the Kokujoudai. Soooo,
Does this mean that Hanako is the imposter, and the real Mystery number 7 is Tsukasa?
Or that the Tsukasa that we know is not actually the real Tsukasa (since we know the real one is still stuck in the Red House as a 4 yo, and the one we saw before the Red House Arc was all Something Else that Took Tsukasa’s Form?), meaning that he’s the imposter?
Are NEITHER the real number 7, since this figure here doesn’t even have the seals?
Or are they BOTH number 7?
PLEASE THEORIESSsss

So I just realized that at first, Tsukasa made his wish and stayed in the Red House for 50 years. Then he met Kou and Nene, went back in time, died, and became a ghost for another 50 years.
So technically Tsukasa is chronologically about 100 years old.

Who is in Tsukasa's stomach?
Tumblr media
First I thought the supernatural who fulfilled Tsukasa's wishes was only one being.
But now I see it. There are several speech bubbles from different directions. Maybe there are more than one.
Tumblr media
And who are the beings trapped in the pit?
Tumblr media
The Kannagis.
The one who curse the livings are able to melt into water.
Tumblr media
In this form they would be able to leave the pit.
Tumblr media
So the Kannagi could be responsible for the curse of the Red House.
Tumblr media
When Kou and Nene tried to leave the Red House with Tsukasa there was something which wanted to kill them (maybe the Kannagi full of hate).
But the one in Tsukasa's stomach was different.
She asked him if he would go back.
So maybe he fused with one of the Kannagi who was like Katakuri.
One with the wish to return to the human world and see the blue sky again.
And Tsukasa granted her wish.

Something i noticed while looking back at old jshk art after reading chapter 78. JSHK CH. 78 SPOILERS AHEAD UNDER THE CUT
To start out, remember how tsukasa (The one we now know to be the real tsukasa yugi.) asked kou if they could hold hands?
Tumblr media
Its a very cute little moment that helps portray how innocent and open he is! And in chapter 78 we see him and Amane holding hands.
Tumblr media
Now, bare with me here. Because this is where it gets interesting. So I was looking back at some old official art I had saved on my phone. And I realized something that I never really paid attention to before.
Now keep in mind that, all this art is with a DIFFERENT tsukasa from the one I was just talking about!
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Notice anything strange here now? No? well let me zoom in a bit for you.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Notice how Amane is always the one who is seeking out the hand holding here. And notice how in NONE of these pictures this Other Tsukasa never reciprocates the hand holding. Now im sure youre probably wondering,
"But blue, maybe the other tsukasa was like that too and hes just incredibly touch starved and is seeking out comfort with kou." WELL WOULD YOU LOOKY HERE!
Tumblr media
TSUKASA IS RECIPROCATING THE HAND HOLDING!
Tldr; The real Tsukasa is a very loving and compassionate person who seeks out connection. The OTHER tsukasa, as I'm sure we already know, and are aware of, IS NOT.
This attention to detail is not only INSANE, but REALLY REALLY shows just how far ahead all of this has been planned and carefully considered!!! Its mind blowing!! Aidairo never ceases to amaze me with their storytelling and I AM. SO EXCITED FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER.

Okay, so after the most recent chapter I have a lil theory about the Tsukasa in the school.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
In these panels we can see the spirit can "talk" but it isn't really talking, it's mimicking Tsukasa. It's learning from him.
All of this is leading up to it taking his place. I bet we learn later that it was in the space with Baby Tsukasa too, learning his mannerisms and way of speaking and that’s why the School Tsukasa and House Tsukasa are so similar.
Baby Tsukasa never grew up so the spirit didn't know how to mimic him when he was older, he stayed 4 years old even when he looked older.

Tbhk ending scene
This scene from the ending of the Anime predicted that Hanako and Nene gonna be separated. So, it was a spoiler of chapter 71! Like we all know, the red sea and the white sky symbolize far and near shore.
It took me really long to notice it.

So this is something me and @daikonsenpai had just realized as we were talking about the new art.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Isn’t it interesting that AidaIro likes to draw Nene with her eyes closed, but Hanako with his open? Looking into it a bit more, you could say there’s actually some symbolism going on here.
Nene has her eyes closed because she’s part of the nearshore, which is supposed to be “blind” to the creatures of the far shore. She’s also “blind” in this new world she has stumbled across, and thus is almost always leaning heavily against Hanako because he’s supporting her in the supernatural world.
Tumblr media
I also want to point out Kou in the image above, he has 1 eye open and one eye closed, which symbolises his status as an exorcist and as someone who can technically exist in both shores without being close to death.
Hanako is dead and part of the far shore, so his eyes are fully open at all times, but what I find interesting is where his eyes look in all these arts 🤔
In the same clock-keeper's art, Hanako is looking up— most likely towards the moon. It’s long established that going to the moon was Hanako’s dream while he was alive, and it wouldn’t be impossible to think he also thinks about the moon while dead
However his gaze starts to change as the story advances
Tumblr media
I’m not sure when this was made, but here Hanako is still looking towards the moon. However, his eyes are now more drawn to Nene’s side, which can symbolise she’s becoming important to him.
Tumblr media
Here he looks ahead as he carries a sleeping Nene on his back, which could symbolise he’s carrying her through the supernatural world to safety.
His eyes are still drawn up towards the moon, but they’re more centred now.
Tumblr media
Here Hanako isn’t looking towards the moon anymore, but he’s completely turned his gaze away from Nene.
I think this is symbolising how he didn’t want to become anymore attached to her, since at this point the PP arc was happening and he wanted to leave her behind to save her— which we later find out he didn’t want to do at all.
So he looks away from her to avoid wanting to stay.
Tumblr media
And then finally here, Hanako is no longer interested in the moon and his sole focus is on Nene. He’s likely burning the image of her sleeping face into his mind, knowing it’ll be one of the last times he’s ever going to see her 🥺
This is also the first one where Nene isn’t leaning against Hanako, and he’s actively stopping himself from reaching out to touch her by keeping his hands behind his back. To me, this just further symbolises the coming chapters where Nene is saved and is no longer afflicted with the supernatural world-- she doesn’t need to lean on Hanako to support her through it anymore.
Idk these are just some of the thoughts I came up with after gushing over the latest HanaNene art. I just think the hidden symbolism of Hanako’s feelings and priorities shifting over time is just beautiful.
