Official Announcement for Journey To The Attic!!

JTTA is an Obey Me fic that I've been wanting to share for a while, but I've been hesitant since I'm not too sure how popular the premise and main character will be - plus the chapters planned are all really long and I wanted to get at least half of them pre-written before starting to publish. It's since become apparent that if I keep going this way, I'm never going to get it out at all, so I've decided to publish it while I still can!

It's centred around the found family trope with an original protagonist that I haven't actually given a proper name - I was going to, but I've been calling her IK for so long that the name just kind of stuck. It's written in first person, so I suppose you can read it as a reader insert if you want - but IK does have an assigned appearance and heavy characterisation and backstory, so immersion would probably be a problem if you do choose to do that...

As someone who works closely with young people, I've wanted to write something in this vein for a long while. IK is inspired by a range of people that I've interacted with and heard about over the course of my work - as well as my every day life - and she's kind of a representation of the kids I've worked with and the sort of environment I wish they could've been in from the beginning. (Though, of course, because a writer's gotta write, poor IK's going to go through a lot of hassle to actually get to that environment.)

No romance, obviously, but we are following the plot of Obey Me's first 'season' - that is, Lessons 1 to 20. I go off on a lot of tangents while writing, so a large portion of the fic is going to be coming purely from my own headcanons or musings on how events would progress differently with a different character, so hopefully it isn't too predictable!

Please enjoy the story if you do choose to read it! You're also welcome to ignore this announcement if you're here purely for my Genshin content, or if you're just not interested ^^
