So my entire social group at college is Jews. Natural response because of the *waves hands* the times. But that would be very very suspicious to my fundamentalist Catholic parents who do not know I’m converting to Judaism.

So.. I lie. But to be honest. Not that well. Here’s from best to worst my several performances in this game.

1. My father came into town and took me and my best friend out to dinner.

My dad: so how did you meet Meg?

The both of us: uhhh

Meg: i cut her in the waffle line

Me: yeah and then she started just talking to me all the time and I couldn’t shake her.

(This happened but at Shabbat dinner)

2. I was going to a restaurant with a friend from a different school who I met at a Torah study night.

my mom- so how did you meet Laura?

Me- *panicking* Hot dog event.

Mom - … hot dog event ?

Me- yes.

3. One of my good friends is a co-president of Hillel and is, predictably, a nerd.

Mom- so where did you find this Leor person?

Me- (on the phone with this detective as I’m walking around with Leor, see they’re wearing a Spock scarf) Star trek club!

Mom- you’re in Star Trek club!?

Me- well, you see, there wasn’t ever a second meeting.

4. I think this might be my worst ranking performance yet. I have a friend, Hao , and we were meeting up to go to a rabbi’s house.

Mom- this is a guy!? How’d you meet him!?

Me- ducks. We were feeding ducks.

Mom- I don’t think that there’s .. ducks where you are?

Me- they were on tour.

Mom- the ducks.

Me- yeah, the university actually hired a company to take them around campus for mental health therapy. I think it really worked actually.

Jud Sternberg

Jedediah Justice "Jud" Sternberg is the youngest of the 7 Sternberg boys, though he's older than the Sternberg girl. He's a gifted drone mechanic; and can really get inside the mind of a cyborg sheep.

(How many pop culture references have we made so far? Luke Skywalker's droid repair? Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Kaylee from Firefly? Ed from Cowboy Bebop?)

The Sternberg kids grew up in a 2-room shack with 11 TVs and one outhouse.

His own dad, Justice Sternberg, forgets the boy's name so he goes by whatever.

He's often mistaken for a girl in his ultrabutch rural community where synthetic testosterone runs freely in the streams, making the sheep and shepherds alike very aggressive. Jud was the one who figured out that was happening. He knows his flock. He noticed immediately when the sheep started getting extra rowdy, headbutting digital coyotes and really just glitching out.

But it made his giant jerk brothers & jerk dad extra mean, and before he could do anything about it, everyone was basically having sex with everyone and everything in the town and he had to make a run for it, and followed the path of the traveler who had just left earlier that week.

The traveler, Kasidhe, was suspicious that Jud was following him to exact revenge for allegations against the Sternberg Girl's honor. But Jud knows his sister's been acting extra crazy lately & had basically put the hapless stranger into some compromising positions against his complete consent. At first he thought it was just her wild pumped up lolita hormones or whatever, but the he realized the river pollution thing and now he knows that nothing happened to Kasidhe was necessarily his fault despite the incongruity of appearances. But who's gonna believe Kasidhe? I mean, as a society, should we cut him any slack? Get out the flaming torches & pitchforks, boys. His story is pretty damned unlikely.

One day Jud came across an alien (or future?) technology that splits people into 3s, seemingly dividing them into the 3 major facets of their self. Is it their superego, ego & id? Or is it just whatever?

Anyway, in the process of trying to understand the technology, Jud zaps himself, and we wind up with Ladyjud, Ultrabutch Jud & Sheep Robot Jud.
