that ursula k leguin quote about how imaginary evil is cool but real evil is boring and shitty is so perfectly applied to males. women live and breathe the propaganda written (often by women; an escape fantasy of our own creation) about males and ascribe their ideals heavily over reality. real males are all the same. they never fail to disappoint. every flavor and variation leads back to the same basic horrifying nature. there is nothing worthwhile, valuable or interesting about any of them and in fact the average male deserves to be bludgeoned to death with the nearest hard object. they are bile-inducing. that’s all.

I love when gendies are like ''some cultures have/had more than two genders'' Ok, but what makes gendies think that a Hijra/Muxe/Fa'afafine would have the same view on gender than them? Do they really think that these cultures created those third genders after reading a Judith Butler book? Gendies have such a orientalist/western-centric view on gender that they think their view on gender is universal. Also, let's not forget that most of those third genders were created for homophobic or misogynistic reasons (it's almost like gender is a misogynistic and homophobic concept).
Coincidentally I’m actually listening to a podcast episode about fa’afafine. And the man who has researched these men for years talks about how the west understands transgender doesn’t really meld with how fa’afafine are understood. And how only the homosexual trans women are really comparable to them. And interestingly, it is very rare for fa’afafine to feel discomfort with their bodies…they are pretty content to live as just feminine homosexual males. And for whatever reason autogynephiles are almost unheard of in these circles.

Ignoring the fact that trans men face misogyny is not the way to go about this
I always get asks like this which is Just Magical considering I never comment on how to class the gendered oppression trans men face or deny it, as I instead choose to look to the very real patriarchal dynamics of them perpetuating and reinforcing misogyny. so what’s your deal here? can you just not read what I type, and fill in the blanks of what you misunderstand with your existing biases against women, assuming we’re trying to ~silence your lived experience~? or do you genuinely think it’s impossible for trans men to enact gendered violence based on some nebulous and totally not bioessentialist view of them “facing misogyny”, despite the reality of cis women being completely able to support misogyny while still being victimized by it?
you have to find a way to argue without just stuffing words in your opponents mouth. you have to grow beyond vulgar identity politics.

Women in general don’t get enough love and respect. Can you please list your favorite female-driven shows or name some of your favorite actresses so I can look them up and watch some of their shows or movies? Thank you <3
yes yes YES I absolutely can!!!
FEMALE-DRIVEN SHOWS:
Tumblr media
p.s. I hate you: so this show hasn’t ended yet but I absolutely love it. not only is the writing, acting & cinematography on point, but it’s an amazing female-led show. in fact it might be my favorite female-led show ever?? it allows its female characters to all be messy & deeply flawed, yet the audience still roots for them bc they’re all humanized as well. their interpersonal relationships are also super well developed & this show is just a pleasure to watch, especially since it’s very much pro-women and deals with topics like sa & mental health extremely well compared to other shows. couldn’t recommend it more!
wake up chanee: more focused on comedy, wake up chanee is a great show to portray female friendship. it’s one of the funniest thai comedies & has very interesting and fully fleshed out characters. it’s not the best show ever but it will always stay to me one of the most iconic earlier thai dramas & I love it very much :) (do not watch the sequel though!)
sleepless society insomnia: despite having multiple characters it focuses on, this is definitely a female-led show since its main character is a woman & the other female main characters are imo much more explored & complex than the male characters. this is also one of my favorite underrated thai dramas & I couldn’t recommend it more in general!
the debut: so the debut is one of the most underrated thai dramas out there despite being one of my absolute favorites. with a mostly female cast, it’s an investigation into a t-pop girl group with lots of plot twists & gritty stuff. it’s a really, really well done show, and what’s interesting is that you don’t even really root for the main character by the end of the show. it’s just one of the most innovative thai dramas out there imo & everyone should watch it!
who are you: even though this is a kdrama remake so technically it’s not really a thai story, this show is a really good female-led story. there are male characters in the show but they definitely take a backseat for the female characters to shine, particularly those played by namtan & jan. also most people who have seen the original kdrama prefer the thai version so like... I’d definitely recommend!
girl next room: a romantic series centering female characters. it’s super cute, really light & the romances work really well, while also dealing with different deeper topics like depression, anxiety, inferiority complex & oversexualization.
daughters: this show sadly disappointed me with its few last episodes, but it’s still definitely one of the best female-led shows. it deals with many incredibly interesting topics around young women like oversexualization, and has very well written characters. it could’ve been one of my all time favorite shows if it didn’t fumble the bag with the ending, but it’s still a good show and extremely well excuted otherwise.
the comments: mini-series that mostly focuses around female characters who are multi-dimensional and very well acted. it’s not the most revolutionary series out there but it’s still really good imo!
46 days: while 46 days is a romance, for me the show mostly focuses on the two main characters, yingying & noina, and their friendship as well as their quest for love. it’s a really good example of female bond & friendship in a romcom and this show is in general very good :)
the underclass: this show is 99% women so it really fits the definition of female-led haha. it’s the female equivalent of blacklist, but definitely better. I especially loved the friendships in it, and while it is a pretty childish show at times & far from one of my favorites, it’s still very enjoyable.
secret seven: a woman with 7 suitors, so in terms of ratio there is definitely more male characters than female in this show, yet the female characters are definitely more developed and focused on, and there’s also a focus on friendship as well. it’s a really cute show despite me not liking who she ends up with lol!
the judgement: this isn’t really a show I would recommend bc it’s pretty fucked up & not necessarily greatly executed, but this is definitely a show that focuses on its 2 out of 3 main female characters a lot, and it also deals with a topic that women especially have learned to fear since basically birth. so if you can stomach it, give it a try. but I wouldn’t really recommend it, though I still wanted to include it in this list.
girl from nowhere: while nanno is more of a supernatural entity than a human girl, this show is still deeply feminine in both the issues it tackles and its focus on female characters. it’s also a must watch if you’re a thai drama fan in general!
shows with non female characters that still center women: 3 will be free, angel beside me, bad genius (both the movie & series), I hate you I love you, friend zone, mama gogo, remember 15
MY FAVORITE THAI ACTRESSES:
Tumblr media
mild lapassalan: not only is she definitely one of the best actresses out there & insanely pretty, but I love how she chooses a variety of different roles, from a sex worker on the run in 3 will be free, an sa victim in the judgement, a literal fucking ghost in happy birthday to crazy fun romantic girls in girl next room & 46 days. she has the best range imo <3
pat chayanit: so I'm a simp for pat bc not only is she absolutely gorgeous on top of being a great actress, but she's been in my favorite show of all time, project s: sos, that has literally changed my entire life. I also think her acting style is quite different from pretty much everyone else & feels very natural, and I LOVE her ig page where she creates memes out of her every day life.
namtan tipnaree: once again, she’s beautiful & an incredible actress, but also I love her personality! she just seems so down to earth & sassy and I just feel like she’d be the best friend ever :)
jan ployshompoo: I’ve loved jan for a long, long while. like all of the other girlies in this list, she is gorgeous & has great acting skills, but she’s also literally the thai actress I’ve seen in the most shows. hell, she was in sotus, my first thai show ever, playing a lesbian icon! so yeah, not only does she often take on queer roles which I love, this woman is just good vibes, she’s so down to earth, so fun & so lovely, and seeing her literally always puts a smile on my face :)
jennie panhan: though jennie hasn’t had many opportunities to show off her acting, her role in 3 will be free was absolutely great & I still hope we can get more roles in this vein from her! she’s also ALWAYS slaying like... the outfits, makeup & hair are always on point <3 and she’s just so lovely & funny, idk how you couldn’t love jennie!!!
aye sarunchana: I LOVE aye so much!!! not only is she a great actress & an amazing singer, she seems like just SUCH a sweet person <3 I love her lives on ig too, and I hope she gets more famous soon bc she truly deserves it!
ciize apichaya: ciize is SUCH a cutie!!! not only do I love her style & outfits and find her super beautiful, but I honestly think she’s great actress who hasn’t gotten enough opportunities to show off her acting yet. I want to see more from her bc I just KNOW the material is there!!!
gigie sarocha: ugh, gigie is just my crush, I’m sorry. this woman is so beautiful & random af but I love how she speaks thai as a non thai-woman, I find her cadence when speaking thai so cute!!! I also think she’s a good actress but I wanna see her in more serious roles & would love to see her in a very intense, emotional scene soon!
film rachanun: film has captured my attention since her role in the debut. she clearly is a great actress & has been since she entered the industry, but I also love that she chooses very challenging & different roles every time. she has clearly wanted to push her acting further since the very beginning and I love that for her. from all the newbies I’ve seen, she’s honestly the actress I have the most expectations for :)
other actresses I love: ployphat phatchatorn, lookjun bhasidi, preen ravisrarat, mook worranit, jane ramida, kapook phatchara, neen suwanamas, puimek napasorn

every time one of those movies comes out that’s like. a good movie for people who don’t watch good movies. think knives out, think saltburn, think once upon a time in hollywood. you know what i mean. anyway every time one of these movies comes out and we all have to sit here and watch like. young fandom people get their grubby disgusting little hands on that movie and turn it over and over and they thirst over the hot male lead and they ship things and they write fanfiction all while insisting the whole time that it’s like. the savior of cinema. and we are all like ok are you 17 years old have you ever seen an actual good movie before?? and then they get mad at us for that because they’re actually 18-20 and watched one indie film five months ago starring some dude they want to fuck, so of course they know all about Real Cinema. and there’s nothing to be done we just have to sit here and ride it out. this is the circle of life i’m starting to think.

this is such a great conversation not only because they are both immensely charismatic people, but also timmy brings up great conversation topics in a way that doesn't feel like fishing for scorsese's definitive opinion like an interviewer, but rather a sharing of points of view among professional peers.

A Double Homicide of Love
By Kamira McCoy
Your gun to my chest
Kill shot
I crave oh so badly for feeling
The bullet going through me
Kiss me as I fall from this roof
Two lovers together on a tower
One falls off with a gunshot wound
And the other after cradling the first
A double suicide
A double homicide of love
So much romance
So much rejection
They loved each other
Even when Mother Gaia denied them
They carried their love to the ends of the universe
Up until the day they decided they were done with the cruelty
They chose their angelic love
Over the cruelty of our grimy city
Covered in soot stains and rotting air
They fell together
Embraced
So they could fly to another plane of existence
Where love was what you made
Not what others thought
Tumblr media
“I pray you never leave me, my angel, so we can be together even in our next lives”

man. racism in fandom is one of those things that brings to mind that tumblr post about realizing there's a spot on the wallpaper and peeling it back to reveal black mold has taken over the entire house.
i was trying to draft a post about the hypocrisy of people insisting that people don't draw wolfwood brown enough, heavy implication that any fanart compliant to his stampede design [and sometimes his older designs, which are not as dark as his fandom design would imply] (including that which portrays him as east asian, which is probably how he was designed and how many east asian artists draw him, but i digress, the colorism thing is a Different Post) is Doing Something Wrong TM and should be treated as such, when "wolfwood must be This Brown, This Hot, This Buff, This Racialized to pass" is a significant contributor to the whole "vashwood, but wolfwood is a sex god papi with massive honkers and an even bigger dick, and vash is a 150 year old blushing virgin whose delicate flower has never been touched by a man" stereotype bullshit, because of how certain fandomgoers especially in slash fandom view brown men.
and then i realized that "the shift in wolfwood's characterization in fanwork [and the corollary effect on vash as his designated white boyfriend] has direct correlation to him being fanon-redesigned into a much more racialized and darker-skinned character than in any iteration" is like. SO many layers deep in the analysis of fandom politics and requires SO much awareness and acceptance of the genuinely fucked up patterns of slash fandom and online fandom in general.
...and most people who are Being Mad On Twitter To Indicate Their Moral Values do not get that far. most people see the spot on the wallpaper and get really mad about the spot, because if they acknowledged the black mold, they wouldn't get to continue to live in The House That Fandom Built without knowing something's wrong with it anymore.

David Takes a Census
1 On another occasion the Lord was angry with Israel, and he made David bring trouble on them. The Lord said to him, “Go and count the people of Israel and Judah.” 2 So David gave orders to Joab, the commander of his army: “Go with your officers through all the tribes of Israel from one end of the country to the other, and count the people. I want to know how many there are.”
3 But Joab answered the king, “Your Majesty, may the Lord your God make the people of Israel a hundred times more numerous than they are now, and may you live to see him do it. But why does Your Majesty want to do this?” 4 But the king made Joab and his officers obey his order; they left his presence and went out to count the people of Israel.
5 They crossed the Jordan and camped south of Aroer, the city in the middle of the valley, in the territory of Gad. From there they went north to Jazer, 6 and on to Gilead and to Kadesh, in Hittite territory. Then they went to Dan, and from Dan they went west to Sidon. 7 Then they went south to the fortified city of Tyre, on to all the cities of the Hivites and the Canaanites, and finally to Beersheba, in the southern part of Judah. 8 So after nine months and twenty days they returned to Jerusalem, having traveled through the whole country. 9 They reported to the king the total number of men capable of military service: 800,000 in Israel and 500,000 in Judah.
10 But after David had taken the census, his conscience began to hurt, and he said to the Lord, “I have committed a terrible sin in doing this! Please forgive me. I have acted foolishly.”
11-12 The Lord said to Gad, David’s prophet, “Go and tell David that I am giving him three choices. I will do whichever he chooses.” The next morning, after David had gotten up, 13 Gad went to him, told him what the Lord had said, and asked, “Which is it to be? Three years of famine in your land or three months of running away from your enemies or three days of an epidemic in your land? Now think it over, and tell me what answer to take back to the Lord.”
14 David answered, “I am in a desperate situation! But I don’t want to be punished by people. Let the Lord himself be the one to punish us, for he is merciful.” 15 So the Lord sent an epidemic on Israel, which lasted from that morning until the time that he had chosen. From one end of the country to the other seventy thousand Israelites died. 16 When the Lord’s angel was about to destroy Jerusalem, the Lord changed his mind about punishing the people and said to the angel who was killing them, “Stop! That’s enough!” The angel was by the threshing place of Araunah, a Jebusite.
17 David saw the angel who was killing the people, and said to the Lord, “I am the guilty one. I am the one who did wrong. What have these poor people done? You should punish me and my family.”
18 That same day Gad went to David and said to him, “Go up to Araunah’s threshing place and build an altar to the Lord.” 19 David obeyed the Lord’s command and went as Gad had told him to. 20 Araunah looked down and saw the king and his officials coming up to him. He threw himself on the ground in front of David 21 and asked, “Your Majesty, why are you here?”
David answered, “To buy your threshing place and build an altar for the Lord, in order to stop the epidemic.”
22 “Take it, Your Majesty,” Araunah said, “and offer to the Lord whatever you wish. Here are these oxen to burn as an offering on the altar; here are their yokes and the threshing boards to use as fuel.” 23 Araunah gave it all to the king and said to him, “May the Lord your God accept your offering.”
24 But the king answered, “No, I will pay you for it. I will not offer to the Lord my God sacrifices that have cost me nothing.” And he bought the threshing place and the oxen for fifty pieces of silver. 25 Then he built an altar to the Lord and offered burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. The Lord answered his prayer, and the epidemic in Israel was stopped. — 2 Samuel 24 | Good News Translation (GNT) Good News Translation® (Today’s English Version, Second Edition) © 1992 American Bible Society. “Today I’m worrying about catastrophic ecosystem collapse. What if it gets just a little too hot or a little too acidic a little too fast in the ocean, and some important keystone species goes extinct and it fucks up the nitrogen cycle or oceanic oxygen production or kills off all the fish and the whole of Earth’s ecosystem just goes kaput then and there? Very concerning.” Don’t worry about it, nothing bad will happen if an important species goes extinct. Sub-Saharan Africans and Hispanics will simply fulfill the role that that old species used to fill, and they’ll do it for a lot cheaper
Human ethnic groups do not fill ecological niches the way species do. At least, they don't unless a given society has forced them into that role. There are certainly societies where a given ethnic group, or other type of social group, is relied on for (and thereby often coerced into) a specific kind of labor—see the burakumin in Japan. But these situations are socially constructed. It doesn't actually need to be burakumin doing meat processing, anybody could do that!
In ecosystems, organisms are generally hyper-specialized for a particular niche. This is what makes the loss of an organism so potentially devastating. Ecosystems are delicately balanced towers that rely on each species doing its job. In human society, the appropriate analogy is professions, not ethnic groups.
This would be obvious, frankly, upon any contemplation at all. Your implicit assertion ("if we allow widespread immigration, white people will go extinct, which will cause a catastrophic collapse of human society") is ludicrous on the face of it; it relies on a strained analogy that doesn't take the specifics of either situation into account. It is nonsense designed to prop up your agenda, not reasoned argument.
And, once again, I will clarify that I have no desire to eliminate white people! I just don't want to restrict human freedom en masse in order to preserve whiteness or whatever, because that is very silly.
Finally, it's worth noting that as far as I can tell, white people aren't even in any danger of "going extinct". Like, they're not a threatened group! This is all purely hypothetical on your part! It's nonsense!

Random rants because I couldn't sleep all night
Insomnia is a bitch
But here it goes (and yes I'm sober just prob crazy🤔)
Teenagers are not TEENS 13 and Adults are not grown adults at 18
It is wild to me that this world expects so much from literal CHILDREN! children
They question why they are trialing kids are adults as early as 12 years old
Because they're making adult decisions and expected to as early as 13
Thirteen is not a damn teen
They're children and no one is treating them so
I used to get offended at the reference “it all starts at home” Or blaming the parents
It isn't 100 on the parents, let's face it! This world and social media now play a massive role in our children's minds and all the medications they're on for this or that
But the problem is the parenting and then society
We're an oxymoron
If you are raising your kids right then, at 13, they're still playing with Barbies and board games and monster trucks and making slime and playing hide and seek
That is what children do
And people are raising their kids so messed up that 12 year old ARE OUT COMMITTING crimes, having the deed and doing things they can't comprehend
They're combative and fight and get abusive with the officers and society as they do at home because of how they're being taught
They're skipping school and not knowing how to make decisions and then end up homeless
The statistics are all there, and history after history, people are repeating the same shit messing up their kids, and now the issue with kids is technology and being overstimulated
Take that technology away and see how long they can sit still
How many kids mimic everything they see
Idolization and profound misconception of what is socially acceptable or morally right. See it on TV. They mimic it
Even hurting others
There are so many hidden agendas everywhere you go
With what people sell wear and advertise
Ten year olds wearing makeup and not believing they are pretty how do they even know to talk like that or be like that
Their innocence is robbed, but parents can play a huge role
They slip away from you and grow up no matter how much you try to shelter or protect them
It'll happen
But a teen is not a teen, and an 18 isn't an adult
Protect your damn kids from this world
Raise them teach them and damn educate them
Protect them, shelter them, and do whatever you must as a parent to raise your kid to be a good kid! And a morally good one, too! Who helps others not be damn delulu babies and filled with weird jealousy and malice — always trying to compete — for what? Your spot quicker to the ultimate destination?
So many parents fail their kids, and they fail them so early on
But what I'm mad at right now is society as a whole expecting kids to grow up too fast and know too much too fast. And then, on top of it, not raising them with proper discipline so when they're “adults,” they're out there tearing up this world. And then you all question why?! I wonder why so many kids out there doing petty crimes then acting out like four-year-olds in the judicial system and getting slaps on the wrist and sent back out for the parents to take no responsibility and blame it on the system
It starts at home
And anyone who believes differently is delusional and can fight me over it
They need to bring back old school butt whoppings and for the love of god ladies and gentleman stop kicking your kids out at 18! They ain't grown
They can't afford to live on their let alone make grown decisions. Let them live at home and push for them to get an education and or an excellent job
Push for kids to help parents more. We don't help elderly and that is because we haven't taught our kids to
We in America kick our kids out at 18 and put our family into nursing homes
Live at home take care of each other and help each other and learn right do right and be right
Be kind
The selfishness and malice and generational dysfunction will always make me mad
And trust me I'm not speaking from a glass house
How I grew up and how I've chose to parent hasnt been a walk in the park
But I communicate
My kids are KIDS, and they have hearts and souls, and feelings beyond what society even gives them time for, and raising good kids in this fucked up world isn't easy. But seeing it all come to shit sucks! Navigating thru it sucks and having to teach my kids about ignoring certain people in life is so sad
To teach them all the dangers and reality is already sad
Why would I want to push them on their own to face that already at only 18
It starts at home, with parenting
Love your kids! And they are kids! Children! Tiny innocent beings with huge imaginations that want love and to discover
We'd have many better people if parenting styles and dysfunction weren't so THERE! Like just why does it even have to be a thing anymore
When will we do better
Abuse or drugs or addiction or mental illness will never be a reason to be a shitty person or a shitty parent, and I fear for my children ever to feel unloved or get hurt by this world, but it'll happen, but why would I actively treat them like an adult or teen way beyond the appropriate time
I just don't understand it anymore and I don't want to
I'm just going to keep mentally fighting to stay strong thru the Bullshit
Cuz parenting with other parents is hard
Adulting with other adults is even harder

i do appreciate liam pointing out (twice!) that orym's persepctive on the gods debate is deeply biased bc of his family after months of fans trying to use his trauma as both an objective arguement in favor of the gods, and as a sledgehammer against any sort of conversation on the matter in the first place

Damn. I think in retrospect my disappointment with Iron Widow felt like a rare sentiment is because the rest of the YA genre is just so sooo much worse.
But still that book was a huge disappointment. Something about it just came off as cynical and nasty in a way I really didn't expect from the author (but maybe should have from the subject matter ig). I really wanted to like it but so many things didn't gel for me and I'm not even sure how much of it is me just not knowing enough about the culture and history behind it but idk. Maybe the issue was the way it was advertised. I hate modern book advertising (but acknowledge that it is necessary, authors need to fucking eat for one).
