Alex Rider pre-S03E03 Thoughts
Because this show has been on my mind all night and now I have more thoughts:
Did Mrs Rothman know Alex was coming? She called it fate that he was here, which I suspect has to do with Alex showing up right as she is working on Invisible Sword, which appears to be her revenge against the Department.
But what was John’s role in this universe? Because Julia Rothman was only known in the Department files as The Widow, which suggests that perhaps John never managed to unmask her. But then she would not have the personal reason for wanting revenge for what John did if they weren’t close. And Scorpia doesn’t actually seem to hide their names amongst each other.
It sounds as if Mrs Rothman’s husband was actually involved with Scorpia himself before he died, rather than him just being a rich husband Mrs Rothman is implied to have killed two days into their marriage. Perhaps in this, John’s undercover mission led to her husband dying and that’s the personal connection? But then the husband would be known in the Department files.
Maybe Smithers’ phone didn’t give them access to all the files because stuff related to Alex’s dad was kept extra classified?
How does the Department know that the Widow is born on Malta but not her name or her face?
I just remembered that I think there was an image of Tom and Kyra with their hands in the air in Tom’s brother’s flat for episode three, so I’m excited to find out what’s going on there. Does Scorpia arrest them to hold them over Alex? Does the police show up because they were near the exploded boat? Can’t wait to find out!
Now, on to episode three!

supernatural 😔 (self explanatory) (gave me brainworms at 13 AND at 20)

black sails. show of all time. a story is true a story is untrue. wough 😵💫 have never been able to fully rewatch this show
the oa. watched this in april 2020 and SOBBED for 2 straight hours after finishing the second season because it was cancelled. its SO good and SO sexy (the house in s2 that eats people. my god....) and SO beautiful. forever mad it got cancelled because the cliffhanger makes me so crazy (i simply love when actors play themselves in things). jason isaacs
murdoch mysteries. well this show is not good (and is somehow still running) but i was Obsessed with it in middle/high school which has to count for something
dispatches from elsewhere. this show made me so crazy i genuinely believed the characters were going to walk out of my television screen and into real life. v funny and v heartfelt and also richard e grant is there to monologue at the camera
taskmaster. its fun! i love watching comedians fail to do tasks. shoutout to the guy on youtube who's uploading the new seasons :) also the new zealand and australian versions are v good
halt and catch fire. i watched this while i was quarantining in a hotel for 2 weeks and joe macmillan is the character of all time. keot yelling HE'S A PERSON at my laptop screen because he's real to me

I don't know if anyone is watching Julia, some minor spoilers ahead (though I'm trying to be vague.)
The seventh episode has left me feeling all sorts of complicated things. I did not expect the show to go there (I probably should have) and it's got me sort of wedged between two visions of the world that both make sense to me. And I really appreciate that point. We're living in a time where things are forced into boxes of good and bad with precious little space between. But in reality things are often a little bit of both and I wish we were all more comfortable living in that gray space.
But the moment that is sticking with me most and makes me emotional is the end of the episode, the moment it hit me, "Oh god, that's Fred." I lost it.

Rachelle Lefevre in Under the dome (2013) Outbreak
S1E4
The military units outside the dome are packing up, much to the consternation of many of the townsfolk. There is a much greater problem however when Linda falls sick, the first of many as an outbreak of meningitis spreads across the town. Julia continues to have her doubts about Barbie and visits a site he had marked on his map. She finds her husband Peter's car at DJ Phil's trailer but he says her husband sold it to him. DJ tells her about the cabin and when Junior tells her about meeting Barbie at a cabin, she's desperate to get there but having fallen ill, has to get out of the hospital. Angie, still a prisoner in the bomb shelter, faces rising water after a pipe bursts. Norrie and Joe realize they have a seizure when they touch...

I recently learned that Julia Child’s “The French Chef” tv series is free on YouTube and started watching it and I can see why people liked her so much.
She’s like here’s how you do it the “proper” way but if you don’t have time for that here’s how to trick people into thinking you didn’t use canned soup. Can’t get this bottle open. Well while I’m here with this problem here’s how you get a stupid bottle open. Here’s how you chop an onion step by step. I know it looks scary but you can do it. It’s simpler than it looks. I made this ahead of time because you don’t want to watch me stir something for 20 minutes. Here’s what goes good with this dish.
She’s very straightforward and honest about what she’s doing and isn’t afraid to tell you to use canned stuff if that’s what you have or explain how to do things easier. I think she’s still worth watching today. I’m gonna use some of her tips for making onion soup the next time I make it. I think the tip she gave about adding oil to your butter might solve some problems I’ve had in the past with it.
